Fears
"I'm not scared." Jason is very afraid that he'll have to testify against his parent's murder/s should they ever catch them. He's also afraid that the murder will come back for him, realizing the mistake he made by keeping him alive.
Habits
"They're tough to break." Jason has a nasty habit of swearing. A curse words slips out almost every other sentence. He also has a habit of sucking his teeth before he begins talking.
Personality
"Me in a nutshell, right?" Jason is reckless to put it as simply as possible. He knows that life is short and he intends to live doing what he pleases as he pleases to do so. I suppose it could be chalked up to the murder of his parents, or simply a passion for living, but Jason is a spontaneous guy, never planning things out and never taking anything too seriously. There's a sparkle in his eye even if there is also pain there. Either way, it's there. The sparkle. The pain. Both coexisting inside his soul.
Another word that can be used for Jason is carefree. I guess that goes hand-in-hand with never taking anything too seriously. When unexpected things happen, Jason just goes with. He rolls with the punches and takes it with the best of them. He's constantly laughing and joking. A surprisingly gentle man. When he loves, he loves like no other, but the reverse also applies. When he hates, it's with the fire of a thousand suns.
A guy it should be mentioned that the guy has a temper. A chaos runs deep within him, causing the young man to pick fights. He loves to argue and won't walk away from one until he's won. Fighting has always been his emotional release. When he loses a fight it only reminds him of his humanity, but when he wins if feels as though he's king of the world - able to take on anyone.
History
"I must warn you... It's not pretty." Jason was the product of a high class mob lawyer, Isaiah, and a stay at home mother, Molly. No doubt about it, Jason was their pride and joy. They doted on and spoiled the boy from birth, giving him any and everything his little heart desired. Growing up, his father shielded him from his business, never allowing his son to know that he represented some of the biggest and baddest criminals in their city. Jason, oblivious, grew up normally, doing well in school and making friends.
His teenage years came and Jason began to realize exactly what his father had done for a living. The headlines sprayed across newspapers and the stories replayed on the news channels constantly. Jason, though not happy with his father's work, respected the man immensely and had planned on following in his footsteps. Though representing mobsters had never been in his plan, law school had.
Jason had just turned sixteen when it had happened. He'd just come home from a baseball game. He was little bit confused as to why his mother had missed it, but didn't think twice at the absence of his father. Jason knew that Molly must have had a good reason for missing and so, instead of going out with his buddies after the game, Jason made his way home. What he walked into was something he could never forget. His house was too quiet as he put the key into the door and pushed his way inside. Every light was on, but no one was around. His mother's and his father's vehicles were both in the garage, but Jason couldn't see them anywhere. He called out to them and briefly heard a noise upstairs.
He made his way up as quietly as possible. The noise had come from his parents bedroom. At first Jason worried that he had walked into one of his parents' romantic affairs. It was when he heard an unfamiliar voice in the room, threatening his father that Jason learned otherwise. Noticing the door wasn't all the way closed, he pushed it open enough to see into the room. No one noticed the door move that couple of inches.
The scene before Jason was a gruesome one. His father was bloodied and beat. His mother was tied to a chair, a gag in her mouth. Desperately, he wanted to save her. He was just about to bust into the room when the man holding his parents hostage fired a single bullet into his mother's chest. Seconds later, the gun sounded again. This time a bullet pierced his father i[n the same spot.
Jason bolted. He had no doubts that both of his parents were dead. He ran as far and as fast as he could, until running didn't seem reasonable anymore. He pulled out his cell phone and called 911.
The days after that were a blur. His Aunt Grace, his father's sister, arranged the funerals.Jason attended without actually being aware of what was going on. He was in a state of shock. Just after the funerals were over, Jason was packed up and sent to live with his Aunt Grace. Almost instantly, he took to drinking. It was the only thing that seemed to numb his pain. Soon he was picking fights, getting arrested, and doing anything he could for a thrill.
One particular fight escalated rather quickly and Jason ended up hospitalizing a kid. It was then that the judge sentenced him to either jail or the Problem Child Mentoring Program. He chose the latter and was shipped off as soon as the program started.
