A small town on the outskirts of London is shaken up when 'at risk' teens are brought in to be involved in a mentor program for one whole year.

2,803 readers have visited One year since Horseygirl created it.

Introduction

In the outskirts of London there is a small, cute little town where everybody knows everybody and everything. Most of the families have jobs in London or go to university there. Its very small, and rather unknown, nestled in London's massive shadow. Most of the people there come from wealthy families, and its full of large yet very old fashioned houses. Unlike the stereotypical wealthy town, most of the people there are very accepting and open.

Some of the resent graduates have been chosen to be 'role models', or 'mentors'.
Each is talented in some sort of way and is an excellent student. Most of them have struggled with something, so they are able to relate to the 'at risk' people they are mentoring.
They will be paired up with some kid who is 'at risk'. Wether they come from an abusive family, have been involved with drugs, ect. Basically, they are getting into a lot of trouble and need to sort their life out, or they aren't going to have a life at all. All of them have very reluctantly agreed to be part of this program.

Each role model has to spend a year with them, and get their life in track. They have to watch over them, and make sure they don't just go back to their old habits. Most of the Mentors are living in apartments and the at risk people are going to be living with them for a whole year. If they are deemed to be better at the end of the year and the mentors are alright with it, they can say. But if they are in the same state, they are forced to go back to the same terrible situation they were originally in.

** when you take a female, it's greatly appreciated if you take a male aswell**

Relationships

Problem child 1 & Mentor 1
Very whirlwind and sweet. They would never admit that anything is going on between them, though. Mentor one thoroughly believes in devoting everything to dance and practicing constantly. Having to be with her at all times, Problem child one got bored quick, so proposed an idea. She very reluctantly agreed- he would practice with her, but then she had to go out with him and do something safe, yet fun with him. Somewhere between, she ended up pregnant. She is quite a few months in, and can barely admit it to herself let alone anyone else.

Problem child 2 & Mentor 2
Playful and very. . . careful. They both skirt around each other, waiting for the other to make a misstep so they can pounce. But slowly, they've began to let their gaurd down. Prob. 1 is realizing she isn't going to push him around and try to force him into the perfect life, while Mentor 1 is realizing he isn't nearly as bad as people make him out to be. Yet they both still seem afraid that something as little as kissing will ruin the small, tender bud growing between them. They both dance around their feelings with playful and witty remarks.

Problem child 3 & Mentor 3
Explosive and love/hate. The two together are like gasoline and a flame- just one little spark and its world war three. Yet very quickly after they fight they find themselves in bed together. They don't know what they want from each other, just that they are very attracted to each other and fight constantly. They would never admit it, but they really care about each other. But they will stop at nothing to prove that they don't.

Problem child 4 & Mentor 4
Sweet and playful. Problem child 4 is still very, very cautious and won't allow anyone within two feet of her, let alone touch her. Mentor 4 loves to tease her and try get her to let loose a bit more. She still doesn't trust anyone, but is beginning to fall for his loveable antics. His cockiness annoys her to no end, but she still finds herself getting more and more comfortable with him.

FC- Clair Holt & Mentor 5
Intense and Passionate. The two have a steamy romance that quickly becomes too serious, too fast. Mentor 4 is nurturing yet frail, and shuts herself off from people who get to close. Mentor 5 is an ex problem child who is easily aggravated by having to prove himself to her. He wants to help her raise her daughter but she's afraid she'll let him in and he'll leave her. The closer he gets the more she pushes him away and the more they fight. He is having a hard time maintaining his bad boy image and raise a daughter that's not his.

FC- Candice Accola & Problem Child 5
FC- Candice Accola was not looking for a relationship after her last boyfriend, who was very abusive. Being the daughter of the founder, her father always had her and her sister look after the mentors and 'At risk' kids. She and Problem child 5 found themselves being very attracted to each other. Although FC-Candice Accola would never admit it, they flirted very frequently and eventually grew to be best friends, although both secretly wanted more.

The rules
If you don't read all of them, you cannot reserve a character. I'm sorry, I know there is a lot

**CuteAsKaylah is also the co-GM. Her word means just as much as mine, so listen to her aswell**
1. Proper grammar and spelling. I understand typos, and if you actually don't know how to spell an advanced word I make these mistakes too, but I don't want misspelled words every other sentence. If you can't spell- get a dictionary.
2. Make your character detailed. I want to see length and effort. Make him/her unique and special. You are 100x more likely to be accepted if your character is interesting. When I read their sheet, I should feel like I know your character and I'm intrigued. Also, if you want a tip for being accepted- Make it pretty (; PM me if you have any questins on coding. I don't know it all, but I know enough.
3. Stick to the plot please. No creating your own fantasies and throwing random drama about. It confuses members. If you want to make major drama, PM me first.
4. This will be literate. I'm not expecting you to write a book, but for every single post I want a clear, precise understanding of every single thing going on. I want to know and feel every emotion, every sight, taste, sound. Anything. Also, please don't have your post be nothing but summaries of other players actions with one little something from your character at the end. People react to things. Show me that. I'm not putting a limit on post-size, but I will say that I want to see quality and your character sheet does reflect on that. Also, I know I say detail, but as for sex- you can make out until the clothes come off. Then its *Fades to black* or something like that. Swearing I don't mind. I use it frequently myself as long as it's not every other sentence.
5. You may either OOC or PM me to reserve a slot. If you'd rather just submit a character, that's fine too but you cannot submit characters for any reserved/taken slots. If you REALLY want a reserved slot, wait. Reservations last 24 hours. I know it's short, but I'm totally cool with extensions. I just like to know you're working on him/her, and that you're still with us.
6. If I ask you to change something, or give you tips on your character sheet it's not because I hate you or I don't like your character. It's because I'm a perfectionist. Please don't complain or say I hate you. I love everyone who joins my roleplays :D If you're not accepted, I am very sorry. I'm sure you're wonderful, but just not for my plot.
7. You have to read everything. How can you understand your role if you haven't read it? O.o Please don't skip any reading and if I have left something out or you have questions, don't be afraid to tell me. No question is a stupid one and I wont be mad if you correct me (: (if you have read this, the first thing I would like in the reservation is "Password:" then the second part)
8. You must be able to post a min. of three times a week. I think that's pretty generous. I have my rough times posting too. If I'm gone for a little while, I'll ALWAYS let you know. Please bear with me while I'm gone and don't just disappear. Also, don't get two posts in and leave. If you're taking too long in between posts, I'll PM you. If you don't speed up, I'll creatively kill of your character and open your slot to anyone else. Finally, please always tell me when you're going away. I'll understand. Promise(; Also, please post AT LEASE 280 words per post. But please post more.
9. Have ideas. I am always open to new plot ideas. If you have one, don't be afraid to suggest it to me. If you have read all this the second part of the first part of the password is your favorite artist. Band, singer, ect.

Lacianne Fluer Roux

As light flooded her room and interrupted her sleep, Laci's bright blue eyes fluttered open as she yawned. She groaned lightly and curled back up in her warm blankets, trying to fight off the early morning light. She laid there for a few moments and tried to find the warm comfort that had just escaped her. After being unsuccessful in her attempts to fall back asleep, she reluctantly swung her legs over the side of her bed and stretched out her limbs like a cat. Her blue eyes flicked towards the window, basking in the warm late spring air for a moment.
Laci fluently made her way across her room to her dresser, and quickly changed into her practice clothes. She pulled her hair up into a loose bun with a few soft blonde curls hanging down by her face and picked up her pointe shoes as she left her bedroom silently.

She carefully passed Jason and Charlotte's rooms, trying not to wake them up. When she came to Leo's room, she poked her head in his room. "Morning, Leo. Remember, we have to head over to the Noxs' house in a few hours. I think there's a meeting or something, to make sure we haven't allowed our problem children to continue on with their dangerous ways or whatever." She offered him a smile and a wink, then quickly left him. They had been living together as close friends for a while before the mentor program, and knew each other well.
Humming lightly, she made her was to the small, humble dance studio they had next to Leo's art studio where he spend most of her time. Laci sat down on the bench against the wall and stretched, before pulling on her pointe shoes and tying them tightly.

Laci closed her eyes and took a deep breath before leaping up and languidly making her way to the center of the room. Watching her body carefully in the mirror for any mistakes, she silently began to practice. She moved gracefully, like water, as she focused on her movements carefully. One misstep, and she could easily get herself seriously injured. Vaguely, she though she heard someone enter the room. She left into the air gracefully, but just as she was coming down she realized her balance was quite off and she came crashing down. She fell on the wood hard, with a loud thud.
Wincing, she bent her fingers, toes, and limbs to make sure nothing was sprained or broken. Her jaw clenched as she glanced at her abdomen, knowing exactly why her balance was so off. Slowly sitting up, she pulled her knees up to her chest and wrapped her arms around her legs.

Chloe squinted as the light of morning shone through her windows. She sighed and looked at her clock, she groaned and slid out of bed. She walked toward the bathroom, then remembering there was a attractive male in the house went back and checked herself in the mirror. Unfortunately she was a mess, she forgot to straighten her hair so fierce curls clustered all over her head. She sighed in defeat, knowing she couldn't do much with them unless they were wet. She quickly yet quietly, for fear of waking Harmony up early, went to the bathroom. Once showered she tamed it to a manageable curly texture, thanks to a ridiculous amount of conditioner. And she styled it into a curly style with a braid wrapping under it. she wrapped herself in a fluffy towel and walked to her bedroom. She strolled to her closet and drummer her fingers along her lower lip as she skimmed through it. She wanted to look warm and welcoming but not like a house wife, more independent and sexy, but not too sexy. She finally decided on a off the shoulder peach dress, and a pair of wedges, and she wore her favorite rose chain on her left ear and rose earring on her right. Once she was totally dressed she walked in Harmony's room.

Image

Harmony pushed her long blonde bangs off her face, she blinked her big brown eyes and squinted to adjust to the bright light. Her mom strolled in as she got dressed and leaned to kiss her forehead, "Morning mama," She said with a yawn.
"Morning harmony, time to get ready," Her mom said ushering harmony to the bathtub, Harmony frowned as she took her bath. She hated mornings, they were stupid, and busy, and annoying.

Once out the tub her mom styled her hair in a pretty bun with a braid in the front and a yellow bow in the back tying it all together. Her mom emerged from harmony's closet with an outfit, which harmony frowned and shook her head to.
"Harmony, sweetie," Her mom said with a sigh, since she and harmony both knew they would fight over her outfit, "Please wear this,"
Harmony shook her head and walked over to the closet, she pulled out a pretty pink dress. "I like this one," She said with a pout.
"That's a formal dress, no harmony," Her mom urged with a meaner tone than usual. So Harmony complied since her mom hardly ever refused to compromise. She dressed into the yellow polka dot shorts and white top outfit like her mom instructed with tan strapped sandals. She sighed with defeat as her mom walked into her room. She sat quietly, occasionally flinching as her mom styles her hair with a braid. Once she was finished she sighed and walked out of her room.

Image

Chloe walked out of Harmony's room and into the hallway, she walked into Dehlillah's room and opened her curtains "C'mon Lilah gotta get up," She said as she walked out the door. She then walked into Asher's room and opened up his curtains.
"Morning Asher," She said in a sing song voice, "you gotta get up, also can you make sure Jared in awake?" She said, but noticing he wasn't up yet she sighed and walked down to the kitchen.

She prepared some eggs, blueberry pancakes, and bacon and hoped the smell would wake them up. Just as she finished Harmony ran down the stairs into the kitchen and bellowed "Yeah, food!" in her version of a manly voice. Chloe sighed and made harmony a plate. She walked over by the steps and yelled upstairs "Breakfast is ready, better get down here soon or Harmony is gonna eat it all,"

She heard the door bell ring and quickly answered it. It was the caterers. She had hired them for the brunch since she preferred not to cook in mass amounts. "Um you guys can set up in the dining room, she said to the head organizer. She had hired her multiple times for different functions. That was one thing about Chloe, she hated big unorganized parties with alcohol and beer but she loved a good function or organized party with impeccable planning.

Beth rolls over, too far apparently, and finds herself on her hard wooden flooring. Wincing slightly as she landed on her elbows and yawns, getting up slowly.
Rubbing her forehead she picks up her large, puffy, flower patterned duvet and placing it neatly back onto her bed.
She then walks over to the bathroom, yawning once more and eyes her bed head in the mirror, Elizabeth always got the worse case messy bed head which was almost impossible to tame.

Padding over to the shower she hops in, ignoring the cold streams at first but smiling in relief as it warms up, she quickly washes and jumps out; as she walks on the heated tiles her feet make a soft squelching sound.
Dry, she contemplates her outfit for the day, What to wear..What to wear.. She muses eyeing her wardrobe.
Beth finally decides upon a more dressy that usual outfit (http://media-cache-ec5.pinterest.com/upload/72972456431759302_5jl4zRXH_b.jpg) as they were to go to the Noxs' for brunch as she didn't want to look like a slob.

Now, what was she going to do with the mess she unhappily called her hair.
Attempting to tame it she straightens the mess and braiding it back (http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ELBY8WlJS2U/TTxqiUFsNHI/AAAAAAAAAHQ/JmTBopz6We8/s1600/braid82.jpg) she once more looks at her reflection in the mirror and this time, instead of grimacing she smiles a little.
'Respectable.' She thinks to herself with a curt not and turns on her heels, exiting the room.

Walking down the hall on the balls of her feet - as not to wake the 'problem children' - she rushes into Riley's room walking over to where he slept, a small smile forming on her lips, sure she loved pulling a prank on one of her friends.
She walks into the bathroom quickly and grabs a cup, filling it with lukewarm water.
Beth then walks back to the sleeping Riley and gently lifts up his arm, placing his fingers into the warm water and hoping her prank works.

Elizabeth then walks out, down stairs and into the kitchen to make some pancakes for everyone with the mix she had bought the other day - Because honestly, she had no idea how do make them from scratch.

Leon had been snoring peacefully in his warm bed, but of course that didn't last long. Laci interpreted his slumber, forcing Leon to get up. He yawned loudly, stretching up as he walked over to his dresser, seeing the long sleeves of the shirt he'd been sleeping in had been pushed up, revealing the scars he'd inflected on himself so long ago. He pulled out his paint slathered jeans and long sleeved t-shirt. He knew that they were supposed to leave in a few hours, but that didn't mean than he couldn't finish up a project he'd been working on. Leon slipped out his door, silently walking towards his art studio, trying his best not to wake anyone else up, hey he was just courteous like that. He could see Laci dancing in the studio next to his, smiling widely. Not only was this house a miracle sent from heaven, Leon was so lucky to have a roommate he actually liked.

He entered his messy studio, smiling as he walked past his other projects to reach his current project. It was just a painting he was doing for some lady who offered to pay him for his work. Leon only worked for a few moments, loosing focus on the canvas before him. He walked out of his studio, walking towards Charlotte's room. He suddenly stopped, he wasn't going towards her room, no, not at all, why would he? He walked towards the kitchen, grabbing the sketch pad he'd left there the night before. Leo looked back to his previous sketches, a few of them containing Charlotte. She seemed to be his latest muse, all his artwork seemed better and he was more creative as of late. Not that he'd ever tell her that to her, no need to inflate her ego. Leon sighed, rubbing his neck, he was rather confused as to were they were in a relationship, he hated her of course, but he sort of liked her. It was futile, trying to figure it out, he just opened his sketch book to a new page, drawing the room around him as he plopped down on the comfy sofa, waiting for the others to come downstairs.

Riley woke up with a long yawn, stretching slightly and... knocking over a glass of water? He looked to the tipped over glass with sleepy eyes. He shook his head, taking the cup downstairs, still in his pajamas, a plain grey shirt and navy boxers. Riley smiled as he saw Beth cooking in the kitchen, "Nice try Bethy." he grinned, placing the cup in the sink. He whistled lowly to himself as he walked around the kitchen towards Beth, looking over her shoulder to the pancakes she was making. "Yum, but aren't we having brunch later? Seems like you're trying to fatten me up so I won't be the prettiest in the house." He half joked, grinning. What could he say, he was proud of his body, he wouldn't lie. "I'll go wake the children up." he smiled, walking back up the stairs, entering Jake's room first, "Hey Jakey, Wakey Wakey... oh that rhymed." he grinned, "Beth's making breakfast, if you want any." He left the room shortly, knowing there would be no convincing him if he didn't want to get up. He moved on to Claire's room, silently walking in. He'd always been secretly protective over the girl, but never told her, unsure of just how she would react. Riley hesitantly walked into the room, he was always sort of cautious around her, only playfully teasing most the time. "Hey Claire, you awake?" he squatted down to be eye level, "Sleeping beauty, time to wake up to your prince." he teased, grinning, carefully tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

Bethan frowns lightly at her failed - and the fact that she couldn't laugh at him for pee'ing himself - prank and then feins innocence, "What on earth are you talking about Riley?" She grins, looking away from the pancakes and at him in his boxers.
"Honestly, you're not even dressed." She winks and attempts to flip the pancake, only semi-flipping it and making it fold over.
"Yum, but aren't we having brunch later? Seems like you're trying to fatten me up so I won't be the prettiest in the house." He says and she laughs lightly, "Oh Riley, you should know, you were never the prettiest in the house."
Although as she says that she knows she's lying, he really was very good looking and maybe if she didn't see him as more of an older brother she'd like him but, no, that would never happen - It would just feel wrong.

She nods and rolls her eyes as he refers to their housemates as 'children' and puts more mixture into the frying pan, removing the first pancake.
Beth waited, on edge, for Jake to come down.
Even though she was meant to be his mentor they had an odd relationship, never sure whether they were friends or not.
She knew just how to rub him the wrong way and although sometimes it could be fairly amusing, he could get angry and if Beth's being honest he can be a little scary.

Beth makes four more pancakes, having two extra incase anyones hungry although she doubts it as they're having brunch with the Nox's anyway.
She places the - slightly 'crispy' at the edge - pancakes on the table with half a lemon and a little pot of sugar.

The scariest part of going to sleep was losing control. Even now, Claire was afraid of going to sleep, though the nightmares had long since disappeared. The darkness surrounding her, the dreams vivid but forgotten... all of it was strange, and as most people knew, Claire was just about scared of everything. But here, people seemed to understand. She didn't know why; perhaps because they were probably paid to take care of people with troubled pasts, and knew how to hide disgust. Because the mentors they had given to each person had been relatively perfect, with nice, tucked in lives, good memories, and very little tragedy. They couldn't understand; she couldn't imagine them ever understanding her.

    "Hey Claire, you awake?"

Well, maybe Riley would. Her mentor was slowly growing on her, though she didn't show it. In the beginning, she couldn't help but feel irritated by his arrogant manner. She hadn't understood him, and hadn't believed that he could ever help her. But... somehow, over time, her perspective of him changed. He tried to take care of her, at least. He was good to her, and though she never thanked him for it, one day, Claire planned on telling him how much it meant to her. But her tongue was forever frozen in these matters; she was too unfamiliar with the good in life, always hesitant to take a step into the warmer waters because she doesn't know how she'd fit in. She'd lived in the darkness all her life; wasn't it natural for her to be afraid of light?

She began to blink sleepily, opening her eyes and finding his face right in front of hers. "Sleeping beauty, time to wake up to your prince," he said, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

She opened her eyes completely now, wide and alarmed. This scene was too familiar, and she didn't want to go through it with Riley. Not Riley. She sat up quickly and started to pat her hair self-consciously. "I'm... I'm awake," she said softly, getting off the bed on the side farthest away from Riley. It made her nervous, to be so close to him. It had been awhile since the two had been rooming together (courtesy of the program), and being around him still made her antsy. She wasn't normal, she knew; other problem children were fine with their mentors. Why wasn't she? She was so damaged, too damaged, and it made her feel alone.

She stayed where she was, Riley across from her, the bed separating the two. She began to laugh nervously and started untucking and tucking her hair behind her ear, but remembering how Riley had done that, suddenly stopped. She tried to remain still, avoiding eye contact with Riley. It was too uncomfortable, and having a man wake her from bed in such a manner... that was what Master Tad had done. And Riley wasn't Master Tad. He wasn't anything like Master Tad.

But the two were both arrogant, both teasing, and both of them lived with her, were too comfortable with her... more than she had ever wanted. It made her more skittish than before, and Claire began to physically tremble in fright.

If anyone called him Jakey Wakey ever again, he would sock the living daylights out of him.

Jake rose to the annoying face of Riley West, the man he had come to dislike since the very beginning. He couldn't stand cockiness in anyone. He got out of bed and threw on a white T-shirt, leavin his black boxers on out of laziness. He sent a quick glare Riley's way. "It's Jake," he said simply, as the mentor walked away. He was mentoring this pathetic little girl who jumped at every word; it was ridiculous. Didn't she know that the only way to get anywhere was to fight hard? Well, it wasn't his fault she was such an idiot.

He began to search for his mentor, the annoying Elizabeth Rose Johnson. She went by Beth, but he called her Elizabeth; no nicknames for him, thank you very much. They weren't friends, they were just these two people randomly assigned to each other. He couldn't stand the girl, really; she was constantly trying to fit him into a mold that was perfect. Obviously, he wasn't perfect; if he was, he wouldn't be here. If he was a mentor - not that he ever wanted to be, of course - he would let the other person grow on their own, and talk to them only if they approached him first. That was how he wanted it. Stupid girls, always trying to barge their way into everything. He began to grumble as he searched.

The smell of pancakes came towards him, and Jake suddenly began following it. Elizabeth must have made breakfast.

Well, she wasn't a stupid girl; at least she could cook. Kind of. The thing was, things were changing subtly in their relationship. Slowly, she was beginning to... accept him, and slowly, he was seeing parts and parts of her, things that painted a deeper picture of her than before. He had tried to resist it; he didn't want any friendship between him and a stupid know-it-all girl. But he couldn't have stopped it even if he had tried, so Jake had given into it. Slowly, he was finding friendship with her, a kind of understanding.

Not that he would ever tell her; Jake didn't like talking about feelings, ever.

"Pancakes for breakfast?" he said once Elizabeth came into view, just as she placed the pancakes down on a table. "Put five on a plate for me; I'm hungry!"

Jared Reese Wilson

Jared woke up screaming... again.
It seemed like this had become a routine like thing for him. Fall asleep, wake up screaming his head off, being terrified of something that had appeared in his dreams.
He didnt even remember what the dream -or rather, nightmare- was of, he didnt know what caused him to wake up every morning and feel like he had been seconds away from death...
Wait, no, that was wrong.
Jared did know what frightened him so much, he just preferred not to think about it.

Staring up at the perfectly white ceiling, Jared took a few moments to allow his brain to realize that he was absolutely fine... probably just a tad bit paranoid, but fine.
He was safe, completely safe with a bunch of other people who were... Jared didnt know specifically where, but were thankfully not in the very room he was in at the moment, but they were in the area.
They were nice, most of them, anyway.
Jared knew right away that some of them wouldnt be very friendly, and indeed some of them were definitely not Mr/Ms. Nice, but that was to be expected, of course, how could they be?
Most of them probably had a more fucked up past than him.

Jared, also thankfully, wasnt at home... or was he? This place practically was home now, he would be there for awhile, so yes, he was at home, a second one. He was glad he was at the better of the two.

Sitting up, Jared took a quick look around his room. He couldnt help but feel a bit disappointed to find that it was still a bit messy with clothes scattered across the floor, but then again, Jared hadnt bothered to clean the room at all, and he didnt expect some sort of magical cleaning fairy would come in and do it for him.
Sighing, Jared pulled himself out of bed and quickly put on a clean pair of clothes... he hoped they were clean, anyway, with almost every piece of clothing he owned laying on the floor, Jared had no way of knowing what had been recently washed or not.

Next, Jared took the time to do his best to try and brush his hair in a way that it didnt look so... well, like he didnt look like he just rolled out of bed. However, he failed at this, and four minutes later Jared's hair looked more tangled than it did before.
"Terrific." He muttered, staring at his reflection in the mirror.
Jared tried to avoid the next part of his morning routine nearly every day, but for some reason he always found himself staring sadly at the ugly scar that marked his face, the one thing about him that people actually noticed.
He hated it, he hated how he had gotten it, he hated how people looked at it, Jared didnt want the hideous marking. He didnt want the reminder of... Jared shook his head, immediately blocking the thought.

For a second he considered going back to bed, and then Chloe's voice sounded from downstairs, and Jared decided that he want some breakfast, though he imagined Harmony might of eaten most of it already.
He walked downstairs and passed through the dining room. Jared was surprised to see people setting the table and decorating everything in such a way that it looked like they were expecting The Queen or something to come over for an afternoon tea, he had to admit that it looked nice, though.
Jared entered the kitchen and served himself a plate of two blueberry pancakes and a few pieces of bacon. Before he actually ate anything, let alone sit down at the table, Jared said a quick good morning to Harmony and Chloe.
Asher's probably sleeping... He guessed, taking a seat at the table.
"...Where's Delilah?" Jared asked, hoping the question didnt seem odd.

Asher stifled a yawn. He was only vaguely aware of Chloe breezing through his room, opening the curtains, and telling him to wake up. Once she left, he buried himself deeper under his comforter. The room he stayed in had been done in light colors, mostly white, and when the curtains were opened the sun was relentless. Claire must've known this. Her tactic in waking him. With a groan and the release of his kept yawn, Ash threw the covers off and placed his feet on the ground. His long, graceful fingers quickly ran through his hair trying desperately to get it to settle. No such luck.

Asher padded to the bathroom. Usually he would hop into the shower for a quick wash, dress, fix his hair, and be downstairs for whatever breakfast had been prepared. Today was different though. Ash had prepared for today the night before, taking a shower and laying out his clothes. Chloe had reminded him time and time again to dress nicely for the brunch and he'd set out clothes he thought fit the bill. He'd even gone as far as to shower the night before to save more time this morning. Usually he indulged in a morning jog, but had decided to forego that as well. Instead, he wet his fingers and combed his hair into a fashionably messy style. The kind of look that said 'I woke up like this' while still complimenting his features. He dressed quickly only glancing in the mirror briefly before leaving his own room.

A quick check into Jared'd room told Ash that his assigned 'Problem Child' was already out and about. Asher actually liked Jared. Sure, the kid was quiet and reserved, but Asher had liked him almost immediately. He really wanted to teach Jared to stand up for himself and that sometimes it's best to put yourself before others. They weren't quite there yet, but Ash had no reservations that he'd be able to get through to Jared. At least he hoped he wouldn't.

It was then that Asher heard Chloe's call from the kitchen. "Breakfast is ready, better get down here soon or Harmony is going to eat it all." Ash laughed under his breath. He doubted the five-year-old could eat a breakfast prepared for everyone in the house. "Har-Bug!" Ash called from the top stair as he began to descend. "Did you save me some food? At least a crumb, right?" he asked her teasingly before sweeping her into a hug. Things with him and Chloe had escalated pretty quickly and things were never easy, but he fell in love with Harmony almost right away. The little girl could always bring a smile to his face no matter what the situation.

Still holding Harmony in his arms, Asher went around to where Chloe was standing and gave her a quick peck on the cheek. "Morning." he told her before setting Harmony down and setting about making himself a plate. "You're going to spoil brunch you keep feeding me like this." he told her jokingly.

With eggs, pancakes, and bacon stacked onto his plate, Asher took a seat at the table next to Jared. "Good morning." he told the younger boy. "Sleep okay?" he asked genuinely. Asher had known that Jared was having some trouble sleeping and always made it a point of conversation in the mornings. The caterers provided enough noise with their hustle and bustle that their conversation wouldn't be overheard, should Jared want to keep it private. Knowing the guy, that was a very real possibility.

Delilah Rose Nox

Delilah trembled as she slept, curled into a tight ball with her arms wrapped around her body. A little white kitten with bright emerald green eyes nuzzled her cheek, causing Lila to jerk back in shock and fear. Her gentle blue eyes flew open and she realized a second too late that she was falling off her bed. As she slid off the mattress, she grabbed onto her sheets in an attempt to stay on. She ended up falling with a loud thud, with her blankets following and ending up covering her completely. The little kitten peeked over at her curiously, as she rolled over and fell back asleep.

"C'mon Lila, get up." Chloe called to the mass of sheets on the floor, waking Lily up again. She groaned and reluctantly kicked the blankets off of her body. She yawned and sat up, glancing over st the door that her sister had come in by.
With a sigh, she got up and pulled her wild mane of curls into a loose ponytail. Not bothering to get dressed quite yet, she left her room in a lacy tank top and shorts. She knew her sister would probably snap at her to get dressed, but she would do that once she was fully awake. Anyways, the mentors and 'At risk' teens wouldn't be coming over for a while. Glancing over her shoulder, she let out a short whistle. "Come on, Lucy." She called, and the little white kitten with bright green eyes hopped onto her shoulder with ease.

Lila padded down the stairs, chuckling as she saw the parade of people setting up the brunch. Her sister always led everything being completely organized. She walked into the kitchen with a bright smile. "Good morning." She softly played with one of her niece's curls affectionately, and glanced over at everyone who was awake. Lily adored Harmony, and was often guilty of spoiling her.
She stood next to the sitting Jared, resting her arm on his head gently.

When her phone buzzed in her pocket, Lila jumped in surprise. Chuckling at herself, she pulled out her phone. Her face immediately lost the bright radiance it had. Stepping back, she pursed her lips and glanced at the scar on her hand. "I. . . Uhm I have to visit a friend soon. I might have to leave a little early."

Jared Reese Wilson

Jared was just about to eat the blueberry pancakes when his Mentor, Asher, came into the kitchen and after speaking with Chloe and Harmony, took a seat beside him.
"Good morning... Sleep okay?" Asher asked, not for the first time.
Jared paused and briefly glanced at the other people in the room, "Yeah, fine... thanks." He replied after a few seconds, fixing his eyes back on the plate of food infront of him.
Truthfully Jared's sleep had been anything but fine, but he could tell Asher about that later... just not while other people could hear.

Once again, Jared was about to begin eating his breakfast when Delilah made an appearance.
"Good morning." She said, and Jared looked up to see her playing with Harmony's hair.
Jared allowed himself to slightly smile, from the moment he saw her Jared had liked Lila... well, he liked a lot of people the moment he saw them, but Delilah was just... different.
"Morning." Jared said when she stood beside him. He was going to say more, but was interrupted by her phone.
Jared looked back at the pancakes on his plate, Stupid phone...
Delilah stepped back, and Jared expected what she would say next,
"I. . . Uhm I have to visit a friend soon. I might have to leave a little early." Of course.

Chloe smiled as Jared padded down the stairs. She smiled at him and ruffled his hair a little. "Hey, don't mind the staff, you'll get used to it. Since me and Delilah usually host functions for the program." She shrugged and walked to the backdoor, watching the staff as they set up everything for the brunch. She smiled thankfully to them then sighed and pushed a hair off her face.

"Where's Dehlilah," Jared asked awkwardly, making Chloe smile.
She smirked and placed a hand on her hip. "Don't worry she'll be down soon," She said before grumbling under her breath, "Or I'll drag her out of bed, I swear her and Asher would wake up at noon if I let them." She composed herself and smiled again.

She was about to yell at Asher and Dehlilah when she heard him at the top of the stairs. "Har-Bug! Did you save me some food? At least a crumb, right?" He said jokingly pulling her into a hug.
"Asher! She's eating." Chloe protested with a pout. To which Asher completely ignored.

She was about to whine about him getting Harmony riled up when he gave her a peck on the cheek, making her blush. She sighed, a little upset that Asher so naturally fit into Her and Chloe's life. "Morning." He said sliding past her and making a plate "You're going to spoil brunch you keep feeding me like this." he told her jokingly.

She looked down, "I like cooking," She mumbled, "Anyway I'm glad your dressed," She added with a half smile as Asher sat down next to Jared and began talking to him.

Chloe tapped her foot impatiently as she waited for Delilah. When her sister came down the steps, in a lacy tank and shorts. She sighed deeply "Delilah, what the hell are you wearing?" She asked "Tell me your not wearing that to brunch," She rolled her eyes, "Actually I have the perfect Outfit for you, and it goes with mine?" She added with a smile, since she and Delilah used to coordinate their outfits when they were kids. She pulled a dress out of a bag that was like hers except it was a ivory that complimented Delilah's pale skin and pale hair, making her look like an angel. While hers was a peach color that complimented her tanned skin and golden hair. The sisters looked very much alike with their wild blonde curls and stunning blue grey eyes. However Delilah inherited their mothers pale skin and their fathers naturally pale blonde hair and Chloe had their fathers golden skin and her mothers golden hair. So together they almost looked like a angel and a goddess. Though Chloe envied her sisters slender body, and her innocent vibe. While she had a more sensual air about her and she inherited her father's side of the family's curvy figure.

She gently stood behind Delilah and did her hair, which was in a ponytail. She felt no need to ask, since she walways styled everyone's hair. She quickly turned it into a bun with a braid surrounding it.
She quickly did a braid around her hair next in a loosefishtail. "Ok now get dressed in that dress and you'll look insanely pretty."

Just as she was about to enthuse about the outfit Delilah spoke "I. . . Uhm I have to visit a friend soon. I might have to leave a little early."
Chloe's face fell slightly, making her smile less bright and more forced, "Your... your leaving?" She asked quietly. "Your leaving the brunch.... early?" She said though the last part came out like a whisper.
She sighed and glanced at the clock,"Our guest will be arriving in a few minuets," She walked toward the the back door and glanced back at her " I wish you'd stay and help," Then she walked out back.

Harmony pouted as her mom walked out the door and tugged at Asher's shirt "Why is mama sad?" She asked staring up at him with her big brown eyes. She pouted and just as quickly as she asked she changed the subject "Mama wouldn't let me go swim today, she put a blanket thing on the pool and wouldn't let me wear my pretty princess dress." She tapped her chin ad if she was thinking and said "I think it's Mr. Chris's fault, whenever he calls mama cries." She said with a frown.

She balled her tiny hand into a fist and pretended to punch the air "If I ever see him I'm gonna do this and that," She said imitating a kick, which made her stumble a little. Then beamed a dimpled smile at them and got back up.

She loved Aunt Dee, and Asher, and Jar-Bear. Asher made her mama happy and he made her mama smile. But Mama never lets her call Asher daddy. She glanced as her mom came back inside and sat in a stool, well more like she jumped around in the stool. "Dad.. I mean Asher, can I have a cookie" She said seeing the look her mom gave her.

Image

"Harmony I told you, you can't call him that, Asher isn't your daddy," Chloe said with a straight face, picking Harmony up and grabbing a cookie out the cabinet and handing it to her. She knew Asher would be mad that she said that but it was the truth. Asher isn't Harmony's dad. She wished that she met Asher before she met Chris but she didn't. I mean she knew him for two years now. Since he was a problem child last year but the fact of the matter was, she didn't want him to get too close to harmony. Just so he could leave when things got tough. She glanced at him and turned away quickly. All that could come from her and Asher was hurt. And she couldn't handle hurt. Not again, not ever. She realized the time and said "Clean your plates everybody should be arriving in like a few minuets."

Charlotte Raven Greene

Charlotte stretched her arms out and breathed in the inside morning air. She hated the fact that her dreams turned into horrifying nightmares. Man, she still hasn't gotten used to it, who would? Most of her dreams were vivid and about her parents. She barely remembered how they had looked and barely ever wanted to. Wishing she had the power to clear her mind of all the bad things but, she knew that wasn't gong to happen. Grabbing the covers, she pushed them off of her and swung her legs to the side of the bed. Feeling her feet touch the ground, she stood up slowly trying not to stand up to fast or she'd get light headed and pass out.

Her head wasn't 'there' most of the time, it literally wasn't 'there'. Sighing she walked out of her room, she need a smoke but, her mentor Leon told her that she should try to quit with the smoking and the drugs. She doesn't listen to anyone anyway so why would she listen to him? That's probably why she hated his guts but, some of the hatred isn't really hatred, that's actually her hiding the fact that she likes him well, only a little. She wasn't the one to be too open about her feelings. She swore never to trust anyone knowing they might leave her like her parents did, and she was afraid of that.

Walking down the hallway and down the stairs. She wasn't hungry so she decided to skip it, plus she didn't feel like making it. Nothing was wrong with food, she just didn't want to eat anything. Throwing her self on a open chair she looked around the room. She started to think about the other problem children and the other mentors didn't really talk to most of them -well, they did lie in different houses- but, she shrugged that off. The only person she would talk to is Leon but, they argued most of the time but, to her that was a bit of communication.

Swinging her leg and sitting on the other one, she ran her hand through her hair. A lot of things were running through her mind, she almost had forgotten that she was suppose to be going over to the Nox's house for a meeting or something, she didn't know. But, she knew she had to go so, there was no way she would be getting out of that. Charlotte decided that she would sit there for a little bit before getting back up.

Elizabeth turns when she hears Jake's voice and sees him standing there, in a plain white top and his boxers.
"Honestly," She sighs slightly teasing just to test his mood this morning, "I'm starting to think you want me to see you in your underwear."
Yes, they'd had a shaky start and even now it was impossible to say what their relationship really was but at least they could talk to each other without an argument..Most of the time.

"Put five on a plate for me; I'm hungry!" He says and Elizabeth rolls her eyes, putting three on a plate for him.
"Or you'll ruin your apetite and you won't be able to eat anything at the Nox's." She tells him, one corner of her mouth slightly turning up.
Beth then puts one on her plate and puts a small amount of lemon and sugar on it, rolling it up; cutting it onto pieces.

She then remembers that he's not dressed and glances at the clock, Damn! I refuse to be late. she thinks to herself seeing the seconds ticking by quickly.
"You really have to get dressed, we have to be at the Nox's in a couple of minutes and I will not be late." She says sternly and runs up to her room before he can reply - Probably with something her dainty ears wouldn't like too much.

Once in her room she grabs her bag and wonders whether Riley had gotten Claire up yet, deciding to quickly check on her she knocks lightly on the door, not wanting to frighten the girl who can barely look at her own shadow without jumping.
Poor girl.. She thinks to herself and opens the door slowly as to not startle her.
"Hello," She whispers before putting her head around the door; once she has she stops, not sure what's going on.
"A-Are you ok Claire?" She asks a little startled at the nervous girl sitting up in her bed, that is, until she sees Riley.
Biting her lip she decides to leave them, whispering a faint "Sorry, there's some pancakes downstairs if you want some," and then thinking before adding "if Jake hasn't eaten them all."

With that she disappears back around the door, closing it and making her way down the stairs.
"Jake, you better be dressed." She says, talking to the boy that was two years older than her like a teacher would, her stern voice serious but not cold.

She couldn't believe that she was starting to like this boy - Well, could she really call him that? He was older than her but she was wiser, she didn't blow a fuse every time someone said something she didn't like but unlike her, he was...Jake?

Beth sighs and walks to the door taking her keys from the little pot and waiting for Jake.

Riley watched as Claire panicked, not able to find enough space between them. He wanted to punch himself in the stomach, he really should have known that he moved too fast. He probably reminded her of that scum that touched her before. He could feel his jaw clench and hands tighten into fists at the very thought of those other people that touched Claire, those people that made her this way. Riley looked back momentarily to see Beth at the door, just looking back to Claire. But when he looked back up to Claire, he saw her trembling. He wanted to wrap his arms around her and tell her everything was going to be alright, but he probably couldn't do that either, he couldn't do much of anything but frighten her. That just made him even more upset, but of course who was he going to confront? He didn't want to talk about anything concerning Claire with anyone but the girl in question. Riley stood, trying his best to put on a friendly smile and push back any anger he might have, but couldn't help the guilt apparent in his eyes, "I'm sorry Claire, I shouldn't have... Well the point of my waking you up is that there's food downstairs, and we still need to go to the Nox's brunch. So if you want to get ready, well ya..." Riley normally didn't apologize, normally didn't feel the need to apologize (having a cocky attitude and a huge ego did that to you), but he always felt he was screwing up with what ever he did with Claire. He looked down, mainly so he wouldn't make her feel uncomfortable, but he noticed his attire, wanting to face palm himself when he saw he was still in his underwear. He slowly walked out, giving a small smile to Claire before leaving.

He made it to his room before angrily punching the wall by his door. Riley just went to get ready, stepping in for a long hot shower and making his way towards his dresser, changing into what he hoped would be an appropriate outfit for brunch. He bregrugingly put on a button up shirt, just drying his hair with a towel and letting it be after running a comb through it a few times. He walked back downstairs pausing at Claire's room but shaking it off and walking on, he'd cause enough trouble for her today. As Riley entered the kitchen, he felt as if he was fighting with the cuffs on the shirt, trying to make them straight. He plopped down in the chair across from Jake. "Nice to see you're living." he grinned, leaning back in the chair and toying with the cuffs of his shirt. "Don't we need to leave soon?"

Leon looked up from his sketch pad, hearing noise coming from the next room over. As far as he knew no one was visiting so it could only be either Laci, Jason, or Charlotte. He silently hoped that it was Charlotte, even if he acted like he hated the girl (although he'll admit most of it isn't quite acting) he was starting to grow fond of her. They'd slept together a few times, to be honest Leon thought things might change a bit, but it seemed to stay exactly the same, they still hated each other and still would never tell anyone other wise.

He was glad things hadn't changed, it was exactly this 'hate' that seemed to fuel his creative fire. As Leon walked into the room, he was pleasantly surprised to see Charlotte sitting on a chair, "Hope you weren't planning on reverting back to you're old ways. We still need to head over to the Nox's for brunch, don't forget." he muttered, eyes glued to his sketch pad. Despite his comment, he was actually sort of proud of her for being able to quit like it seemed she had. Leon took a seat in another chair near her, taking to sketching again. But he flipped the page again to a blank page. It was rare that he got a living object to sketch, the fact that she happened to be his latest muse was the cherry on top. Leon had a feeling that he should most likely tell her eventually that she was to thank for all his latest pieces, but was pretty sure she's either end up creeped out or laughing and making fun of him mercilessly.

Leon's gaze caught the clock on the wall. Being too lazy to actually get up, he ended up yelling out, "Hey Laci! Aren't we going to be late?" he questioned, hoping she could hear him from her studio. He looked back to Charlotte, "Aren't you going to get ready?" he asked, not really bothering to wait for an answer as he turned all his attention back to his drawing, focusing on the small details of her features. As creepy as it might sound, Leon had already practically memorized her features, mainly from drawing her so many times before.

Finally, Jared was able to eat his breakfast. He wasnt that hungry anymore, so he found himself picking at the pancakes and barley eating any bacon. Once what was on the plate was pretty much finished -and by finished, he hardly ate any of it- Jared stood up and scraped what was left into the garbage, then began to wash the dish.
When that was done, Jared said a quick thanks to Chloe for making breakfast, and he apologized for not finishing it.
She really was a good cook, much better then Jared, who stuck to putting bread in the toaster and calling it a meal.
After that, Jared decided that he'd wander around the Nox's house until the brunch/meeting, whatever it was, started.

They had a nice home, it was a lot better than Jared's, anyway. Beautifully decorated, everything looked expensive.
He found himself wishing that he could of grown up in a place like theirs... in a place where everything was so... normal.
Of course, the Nox's probably werent the definition of normal, since they had a bunch of people with weird issues and even weirder backgrounds under their responsibility... but still, the Nox's were lucky.
Extremely lucky, to have such a good life.

For probably the third time, Jared was jealous of the Nox's. In his eyes, they had everything, money, a good life, people who cared about them, family... they werent anything like the people they were trying to help, they werent like Jared, they were better.
Far better.
Jared found himself in the living room, he sat down on one of the couches and let out a frustrated sigh.
For probably the sixth time since he became part of the Problem Children program, he was angry with himself.
For One, being jealous of the people who were doing nothing but good, and for Two, for allowing himself to think like that. ... He didnt really have any other reasons, just the two.

Jared pushed away the thoughts and began tapping his fingers on the arm of the chair, when were the others going to get here?

Jason heard the commotion going on around the house and opening his lids, he snuck a peek at the alarm clock on his bedside table. He'd slept in later than he'd thought and threw the covers from his body. With virtually no time to get ready, Jason hurried to the shower, only going through the basics before hopping right back out. He didn't have time to go through his drawers and so, he settled on the first suitable thing he could find. It was fitting for the brunch at the Nox residence.

Still in his hasty mindset, the young man padded downstairs. He smelled the aroma of pancakes, but dismissed almost instantly. He would be having brunch in just a few minutes if they ever got a move on. "Good Morning!" he announced to Charlotte and Leon before leaving the room as quickly as he had entered. Laci was the one he wanted to find. Without even having to ask, he knew where she would be - where she always was. Dancing.

Somewhere in the time he'd gotten to know Laci, Jason had fallen in love with watching her dance. Feelings for the girl were more than apparent, but he'd never admit it. Even after all that had happened - the whirlwind romance, the tangling of limbs - they both pretended it had never happen. Randomly the two would fall into the same pattern, but nothing ever came of it. They acted as though it had never happened and returned to their respected roles - the mentor and the mentored.

Momentarily, Jason peeked into the studio, watching the graceful movement of Laci. She was beautiful. Jason was sure even a blind man would be able to tell. With regret, he reminded himself that they were in a hurry. "Laci," he started, "we really should be making our way to the Nox Estate. The brunch is scheduled to start here soon and we wouldn't want to be late." he told her. Some days Jason would practice with her, but today they had no time. He wasn't anywhere near as graceful as she though.

Asher's conversation with Jared was brief, but he instantly caught onto the younger man's hesitation to talk. A conversation best saved for later Ash realized. He should have known better than to bring it up in such an open place anyway.

When Delilah made her entrance, Ash gave her a brief nod by way of 'good morning' and continued shoveling the large breakfast into his mouth. When her phone went off and the woman quickly announced she'd be leaving, Asher knew Chloe would be upset. He'd wait for it to happen and then comfort her the best he could. He knew Chloe would be even more upset since she'd gone through all the trouble of matching their dresses and planning the brunch down to the last detail. Asher wasn't the least bit surprised when she walked out back. He knew she'd need the moment to gather herself and preferred those few moments alone. So, instead of following her, he stayed inside with Harmony.

When the little girl asked why her mommy was sad, Asher was literally at a loss for words. "She's not sad, so much as overwhelmed. She just has a lot to do and think about, Har-Bug. She'll be just fine." he told her. Harmony continued talking to him about her morning. "Mama wouldn't let me go swim today, she put a blanket thing on the pool and wouldn't let me wear my pretty princess dress. I think it's Mr. Chris's fault, whenever he calls mama cries. If I ever see him I'm gonna do this and that." Asher felt the old familiar sensation of anger boiling in his chest. Chris was not someone he liked, and for obvious reasons. The fact that he'd made Chloe cry pissed him off. Not wanting to upset Harmony, he laughed as she imitated what she'd do if she ever came across Chris. "I'm sure you would. And I bet Mommy's saving your pretty, pink dress for a special occasion." he told her, a smile still on his lips.

When she called his 'Dad', it melted his heart. He knew that Harmony wasn't his, but he treated just as well. He loved that little girl. Before he could even answer her request for a cookie, Chloe slipped back in and interfered, chastising Harmony for calling his by the name. Asher turned away from both of the girls, not wanting Harmony to see the anger he couldn't hide. He knew just as well as she that he wasn't the father, but Harmony needed a father-figure and if he provided that, then why did she have to fight it so much. Another conversation to be saved for later, he decided before stalking off to his room, leaving his plate where it sat on the table. "Call me when brunch is ready." he tossed over his shoulder as he retreated.

Chloe watched as Asher stormed off to his room. She smiled apologetically at Jared and thought of a quick excuse "He's fine, probably just grumpy," She added at the end. She set Harmony down and padded up the stairs after him.
"Ash?" She said quietly at his door. She always called him Ash when she was worried or when she knew she did something wrong. She wasn't sure why but it soothed him a little. She found him in his room and stood in front of him. "I'm sorry, it's just." She sighed trying to find the right words. She gently ran her hands through his hair a few times.
"I didn't mean it like that its just, you may think you want to be like a father to Harmony, but what happens when you have to leave? Or when I'm being a total bitch ,or Harmony's too much for you. Then what?" She flopped on his bed and gazed at his ceiling. "Harmony has never had a father figure. She doesn't even know who her father is. I can't risk her getting used to you and then you leave. I mean c'mon Ash. What even are we? Were not official, yet your hell bent on acting like the perfect family, and were not. Here's the facts Ash: I got knocked up in high school, harmony's father tried to kill me multiple times, Harmony is around bad influences all the time because of this program. Who the hell knows how Harmony is going to end up?" She turned her back to him and frowned. "That's a risk I'm not ok with, why do you even want to be Harmony's dad? So you can get tied down to a chick with a baby?"

She flinched a little, thinking about Chris. She didn't mean to but she automatically held her knees and shut her eyes so tight it almost hurt. She hiked her dress up to her waist frantically as if to see if the bruises were gone and it was just a nighmare. To her dismay the multi colored bruise of her thigh was still there. She glanced at her other perminant bruise, a ugly red bruise that was on her hip. Images flashed through her mind, of her lying on the cold apartment floor, bleeding from the mouth, ribs broken, unable to move or even scream for help. She squeezed her knees tighter.

Lacianne got back onto her feet and continued, more careful than before. She lost track of time, and felt like it had only been minutes when Jason came in. "Laci," She heard him behind her, and jumped in surprise. She turned to face him, with a gentle smile. "We really should be making our way to the Nox Estate. The brunch is scheduled to start here soon and we wouldn't want to be late." Her bright blue eyes widened and she glanced at the clock. "Ah! I completely lost track of time! Thank you so much for reminding me! Knowing me, I probably would've been an hour late. I'll meet you outside in five minutes." Laughing at herself lightly, she hurried off to her room.

Closing the door with her foot, she undressed and redressed herself in a summery strapless sky blue dress with white lace trim. She cleaned herself up and let her hair out of the bun it was in, instead opting for a loose fishtail that rested over one shoulder, with a single curl framing her face. Throwing on white flats as she hurried out of her room, she quickly met Jason outside, breathless.

"I think that should be a record or something." She laughed lightly, opening the passenger side of her car for him, and hopping in her driver's seat. "Sorry about making you late." Laci offered him a soft smile as they made their way to the Noxs'.
But, of corse, just as soon as they left a tidal wave of nausea hit her. She immediately pulled over, turning away from Jason and covering her mouth. 'Oh no, not now.' She thought to herself as she opened her car door, taking deep breaths to try to settle her stomach. Just another reminder that she couldn't keep her secrete forever- and honestly it was unfair of her too keep it from Jason.

Charlotte Raven Greene

Charlotte didn't like when Leon was the one mainly on her mind. Things actually seemed to stay the same between her and Leon. Even after they have slept with each other, she was okay with it. She wasn't really a fan of change anyway, Charlotte never felt awkward whenever she was around him. Rolling her eyes as she heard Leon's voice,"Trust me, it's not that easy." Replying to what he said about her 'drug problem',"Yeah, I didn't forget." Looking over at him as he took a seat in a chair near her, she always wondered what he had been drawing in that sketch pad of his.

"Yeah, yeah I am." Answering his question to if she was going to get ready. Sometimes she always saw him drawing in that thing but, she didn't complain. "What do you draw in that thing anyway?" She looked over at the sketch pad, she didn't really care what he had drawn in all the days she's been here, it's just that she always sees him drawing in it. Even if he didn't answer it would probably piss her off, then she wouldn't ask again. Looking up at Jason who had quickly came into the room and exclaimed a quick 'hi' before leaving the room in a hurry.

Charlotte didn't care whether he decided to answer her question or not she left to go get ready. Deciding to take a shower before getting dressed, after getting out of the shower, she put her clothes on and sat on her bed to put her shoes on. It really didn't take her too long to get ready she didn't have to do anything to her hair only comb it down. Looking at herself in the bathrooms mirror she turned of the light and walked out of the bathroom.

After doing all that to get ready she walked back into the room she was in before with Leon. Charlotte hated to admit it but, she sorta like Leon. She was never going to admit it and wasn't going to let anyone say or assume that she liked him. That the main reason why she had to hate him or at least act like she did. She had to protect herself from the past coming back to haunt her this time. It had haunted her many times and today she wasn't going to let that happen.

Yeah, she wasn't the one to tell some one she liked them. She just didn't want to be left again, biting her lip she looked down not particularly staring at anything specific, she just wanted to stare at something just to stare at it.

Delilah Rose Nox

Delilah smiled softly as her sister gave her a dress, and did her hair without any warning. She leaned back slightly, used to her sister doing her hair for her. When she was done, she turned and smiled at her sister. "Thanks! You look wonderful, by the way."
Delilah flinched when she saw the look on her sister's face when she told her that she would have to leave early. She glanced over at Jared for support, but he looked a bit disappointed too. "Well, it's not like I'm completely skipping it! I just might have to leave the brunch like five minutes early. And that's if my. . . friend calls early. It will probably be quick anyways." Lila flinched a little as she said friend, and glanced down as though she was disappointed in herself. "It's really important." She murmured, avoiding meeting anyone's glaze. Her thumb ran over the scar she had on her palm thoughtfully, pursing her lips. If Chloe knew, she would be so upset.

With a sigh, she turned away from her family as everyone finished their breakfast and started to clear out. Lucy, her kitten, followed Jared out of the room, happily prancing behind him as he wondered the house. When he sat down in the living room, she jumped into his lap and rubbed her little white body against his hand, gazing at him with her stunning emerald eyes.
Lila headed off to her room and changed into the dress her sister gave her, admiring the wonderful job she had done on her hair when she glanced at herself in the mirror. She quickly put on a little makeup -she never wore much anyways- and pulled on some white flats that went well with her dress.

Delilah headed downstairs, and let out a soft whistle for her kitten so she could put her in her room while the guests came. Much as she loved her cat, she could be a little too friendly. When she didn't come running, her brow furrowed and she went off to look for the little kitten.
When she spotted her sitting in Jared's lap in the living room, she chuckled and leaned against the doorway. "Sorry about her- she acts like I don't give her any attention. If she's being a bother, I can bring her up to my room. She doesn't really understand that some people just do not like cats." Lila offered Jared a bright smile, as she watched the two.

Jared Reese Wilson

At first Jared didnt know that it was just the kitten that had leaped onto his lap, actually, he didnt know what it was. He flinched, and looked at the cat in surprise.
"Oh, uh... hey... kitty..." He said, not sure why he was talking to an animal.
Normally the things didnt seem to like him that much, it was like they knew he was bad, and they stayed away because of it.
Jared awkwardly patted his hand against the kittens -what was her name, Lucy?- head, and frowned when she didnt run away.
"You're not supposed to like me, Cat." He said, deciding that Cat would be the nickname he'd call her by. It was easier to remember than Lucy, "This is the part where you hiss at me, then run away, get it?"
Cat just stared up at him blankly.
"Right, you dont know English." Jared muttered, "You should... wouldnt that be-" Jared stopped talking as soon as he realized he was talking to a cat.
He was actually somewhat amused, "Ha, I could be a cat whisperer, huh?"
Lucy didnt show any sign she was listening, but then again, she was a cat.
Jared frowned, "...Right, gotcha."

"Sorry about her- she acts like I don't give her any attention." Delilah's voice came from the entrance to the living room, Jared looked up to see the Nox girl looking... well, pretty good.
Lila smiled, the continued speaking,
"If she's being a bother, I can bring her up to my room. She doesn't really understand that some people just do not like cats."

Jared shrugged, "Cat's fine, I think she likes me," He said, and as soon as the words left his motuh, the white kitten jumped off his lap and returned to Lila.
Jared frowned, "Or, you know, maybe not. Its understandable."

She looks nice today, was Jake's first thought. He would have told her, if he wasn't feeling so groggy. Contrary to popular belief, Jake didn't go out of his way to make people feel like assholes; it just happened. But being around Elizabeth always made him want to be a little better, and as a result, he ended up being a little kinder to her than anyone else. Of course, she still thought him to be a jerk (or so he assumed, anyway), because she didn't know. Girls. He looked at her and nodded his head seriously to her attempt at cheerful banter. He was not a morning person, and he wasn't going to pretend to be one, not for anything or anyone. He sat down and began to rub the back of his head, twisting his head back and forth to crack his neck a few times. "I didn't think you minded," Jake said mildly once he was relaxed, placing his elbows on the table and smiling at her gently. Truth be told, he liked the girl, he really did; she just happened to get on his nerve all the time. But in the back of his head, he knew she was a nice girl. A real nice girl, who had no idea what addiction really was.

But he tried not to look down on her for not having a harder life; how could he help it if she was actually happy? How could he wish for anyone to have the lief he had had? It would be cruel.

Of course, when Elizabeth only put three pancakes on his plate, Jake was beginning to regret the kindness in his thoughts towards her. "Three pancakes?" he said, making a face down at his place, "I asked for five. I'm hungry."

"Or you'll ruin your appetite and you won't be able to eat anything at the Nox's," Elizabeth replied. Jake could see a hint of a smile, and for a moment, he felt deep pleasure at her reaction to his behavior, which he knew was childish. The moment, however, faded, and he rolled his eyes.

"Who cares about the Nox's? I want five pancakes, damn it." Despite his words, Jake began to eat dutifully, keeping his eyes on his mentor as he did so. She ate like a lady. He wouldn't know anything about eating properly, but he was pretty sure Elizabeth could out-manner the Queen, if such a term existed. How did she do it? He didn't understand, at all. Sometimes, during times like these, when these thoughts came to him, he felt far away from her. Detached, foreign, alien. The two were on separate worlds, but for some reason, they had been put together. No, Jake didn't believe in fate, chance, luck, fortune, nothing; that would mean he went through all of this because it was 'meant to be.' How could any misfortune be meant to be? It was life, and the helplessness of people to react at all.

The glance Elizabeth threw towards the clock brought him back to the present time, and after a few exclamations, began running up the stairs. What the hell? "What the fuck is going on?! I'm not even finished!" he said after her, but Jake wasn't one to yell in the morning, so he began to eat quickly, so he could catch up to her and ask her what was going on. He began to study the clock, when he realized that they were probably supposed to be at the Nox's soon, or whatever. He didn't even know why they were going; why didn't anyone tell him these things?

Right after he finished eating, Riley sat in the chair across from him. Oh, this guy. Jake didn't care much about him, and for the most part pretended he didn't exist. The guy got on his nerves, but they lived together, and he didn't want to stress Elizabeth out by beating up one of their housemates. So when he began to make jokes about their needing to leave, pointing out that Jake was already running behind and that he was just so incompetent, he didn't say anything. He met Riley's gaze, his face blank, and left.

Jake made his way upstairs and dressed. By then, Elizabeth was already waiting for him, having lectured him like he was a child. Honestly, it was fucking ridiculous. He wasn't a two year old; how dare she patronize him? He barely glanced at her as he walked out the door, still annoyed. He was a man... not her student at Sunday fucking school. And he wanted to be treated like one, God forbid.

Claire could see Riley getting upset, because of her. Always because of her. She wanted to reach out and reassure him, tell him, No, it's not you, it's just.. I'm an idiot, irrational, and I don't deserve to be around you. She opened her mouth several times before he could say another word, already regretting her hasty retreat, but the words wouldn't come; they rarely did. The crippling fear that had come to define her paralyzed her completely, and she didn't know what to do. She didn't want Riley to be upset with her, but it was what she did: she was always affecting people for the worse. She hated it! All she did was bring misery to the people around her, because she was a whore; it was what she did. Claire held back tears, not wanting to make the guilt in Riley's eyes worse, but she didn't think she did a good job. "I... I didn't..." Why wouldn't the words come out? Claire swallowed, looked down at her feet, and didn't try to speak again; she was afraid of what might come out. She didn't want all of her feelings to be spilled over the floor, water and blood and pain intermingled.

"I'm sorry Claire," Riley said, "I should't have..."

But he should have. He was trying to treat her normally, and she had been the one to react. Claire bit down on her lip and held back tears of disappointment and remorse. She hated seeing Riley like this. He was normally the livelier of the two, smiling and friendly and admittedly cocky, but at least he was alive. She was dead. She felt useless. The program had done absolutely nothing for her, and she wasn't surprised. She was still the whore, the outcast, the one who deserved all the thrown stones and insults.

"Well, the point of my waking you up is that there's food downstairs, and we still need to go to the Nox's brunch. So if you want to get ready, well ya..." Riley's voice trailed off, and Claire looked up to meet his gaze. Her stomach felt funny, but she ignored it; she must be sick or something, she hadn't experienced that kind of dip before. She smiled cautiously, but by then he had already looked down. Of course he avoided eye contact; it was only to be expected. The smile fell from her face dramatically, and she watched him leave through sad eyes, eyes that felt void and empty. Just like her soul.

Claire knew that her thoughts were dreary. She knew that most people thought she was a 'downer,' that she was unnecessarily sad, that she needed to lighten up. But the truth was, nobody seemed to understand the hole she had dug for herself. Nobody could see the truth. It was easier for them to say nice things about her; they hadn't lived with her their whole lives. She knew all of her thoughts, her actions, her past... and she knew it was tainted, and she was tainted, and completely unworthy of everything around her. She knew the truth, at least. Nobody knew the full story, not one of them. Not one of them had to deal with seeing their shameful selves in the mirror, knowing everything that had happened inside of her.

She dressed, noting the muted, dark colors of her wardrobe. She didn't like to stand out much; she had gotten enough attention in her life. She walked downstairs quietly, and tapped Riley's shoulder tentatively. "I'm... I'm ready," Claire murmured, keeping her eyes downcast. She had never said his name before, as if saying 'Riley' would solidify the relationship they had. She was afraid of the bond that was beginning to form between them, the feelings she had begun to develop towards him. She didn't want any relationships, she only wanted somewhere to stay until she could find a way to be alone forever. It was the reason she was at the program.

But then again, she was on her way to a brunch with a lot of people all around her... the program probably hadn't been the best idea. She was beginning to have feelings she'd never felt before, she was constantly aware of her shame, wearing it like a badge she hid behind. Claire was beginning to feel even more lost; the program was full of good people, people who had never reached the depths of hell on earth, and it was like looking into a well of what could have been, if she had been a good person, too. But she wasn't. And she was trapped, with a man she was beginning to care about, God forbid. And worst of all? Claire had no idea how to get out.

Leon focused on his drawing, deciding to leave the face for last just in case Charlotte tried to take a peek. Not that he really needed to worry, she only showed vauge interest in any of his paintings. Most girls Leon encountered turned to mush when ever his artistic ability was brought up. Not Charlotte, Leon couldn't figure out what went on in her mind, and she showed barely any interest in him. Maybe that was her apeal, showing just enough interest vieled with hate to hook the young artist's interest. That may have been a weird way to phrase it but it was the closest, reasonable thing to the answer he wanted to the question: Does she like me/ Do I like her?

He broke out of his auto-draw mode when Charlotte asked him about what he drew. Looking up to the girl in question, he kept a blank innocent face, "Nothing much. This is just my practice pad." he semi-lied, it wasn't his practice pad, but he did need practice drawing her. Leon looked over what he'd already acomplished in the drawing, frowning slightly. She was just in an ordinary pose, lieing on her stomach legs swinging in the air. He just didn't know how to put her, but it wouldn't be in such a Plain Jane pose. He looked back up, too late to greet Jason who just gave a quick hello.

When Leon turned back from Jason to Charlotte, she was already gone. Possibly to get ready. Leon sighed, looking down to his pad, noticing his still paint stained pants, "Oh crap." he muttered to himself, abandoning his sketch pad on the couch, running up the stairs to his room. He rushed to change out of his worn and stained clothes into some clean and respectable one. He only took a second with his hair, running his fingers through it before rushing back downstairs, car keys in hand. He froze for a second at a mirror, staring at the clearly visible ring around his neck. There was no time to change though so he just shook off any memory that might have come up, looking to Charlotte, "You actually don't look half bad." he smiled lightly, only giving a half complement, which really, was rather good progress considering how much the two seemed to hate each other. "We really got to go..." he muttered more or less to himself as he looked to his watch, already walking towards his car.
