Introduction

Image This is an unlikely story between a Ninja princess from Feudal Japan and her Ninja escort. She was kept hidden, even from a majority of her own people. Lonely, and untrained, the princess needs protection from the ongoing war. Her father despite being Leader of their village has been called off to lead the war and cannot keep her safe and fight at the same time. Both of the princess's parents are highly skilled warriors, but they cannot protect his daughter anymore because both of her parents have left the royal compound to fight in the war.

This is where her body guard comes in. The princess's parents hire the son of a trusted ninja ally to protect her on her journey. They are traveling to the countryside, in hopes of avoiding the war and getting to one of the many hidden safe-houses. There are several shrines where the townsfolk, women, and children flee to to wait out the wars that the ninja of their village take part in.Image

These two have to travel by themselves to avoid drawing attention to themselves, because if the princess ends up in enemy hands, all is lost and the war is over. Though this ninja has his work cut out for him, the princess has only the basic skills of the most amateur ninja, among the weakest of adult ninja in their village. She is at the same level as most children raised in Ninja families, although it isn't her fault completely. Her father never planned for her to become a warrior and forbade her from learning his trade, so she was never able to formally learn anything. The very few skills she has, she managed to teach herself by mimicking her parents after watching them train.

Their only hope of slipping through enemy grasp is to disguise themselves as they travel, but their journey is tense, lets just say,Image the princess is not happy about disguising herself as a geisha!

The ninja and the princess have never met before this adventure, and they don't seem to have a lot in common. Rocky roads are ahead of these two as they are forced to undertake fake personas, encounter near death experiences, fight for their survival, and evade enemy soldiers. The two are constantly on their toes, yet there is always a moment or two where they find themselves on the same page, and the lighting is just right.... could it be love? Or is it the chance of not making it out of this journey alive making things so...awkward?

The smell of burning oak filled the air, and the sky was lit up a dark shade of orange as Himeka ran as fast as she could. It was midnight, but the sky was so bright it could have been mistaken for sundown. The sky should have been pitch black, but the entire Capitol was set ablaze, including the compound where the royal ninja family resided. Luckily the princess made it out, and her parents sent a well trusted escort to find their daughter and assist her in fleeing the village. Their nation was at war, and they didn't need their daughter in the crossfire. Himeka ran as fast as she could, avoiding blades and Kunai knives at every turn. Her clothes were black and her hair was stiff with soot and ash. She didn't even look like a princess unless you had an eye for identifying expensive armor.

She finally made it outside of the village, running straight to a nearby tree and using it as support. She coughed and wheezed, due to all the smoke and ashes she'd inhaled, but she wasn't safe yet. Six shuriken were thrown in the princess's direction, and she barely dropped in time to avoid them piercing through her skull. She was terrified as she gazed upon the enemy, even more as they drew closer and-

Seven Days later..

Himeka shot up out of her bed roll, gasping for breath. It was early morning, and she wasn't sure if her nightmare caused Masenai to wake or not. Currently her eyes were glued to the ground and her hand was pressed firmly to the fabric of her bodice, right above her heart. She could feel the pounding in her chest, still breathing quickly from the fright. It had been a week, yet she dreamed the same dream each night, constantly reliving the experience in vivid detail. She felt it was her penance for doing nothing to aid her comrades that night.. If that was true, she would gladly bear that burden, because she felt incredibly guilty for fleeing in her cowardice.

Masenai was the one who discovered her outside of the village and saved her from the enemy ninja, which was her first time meeting her escort to the shrines. She had to admit she missed her parents, and she clung to the cherry blossom necklace that she kept hidden under her kimono. Mother.. Father.. I could have done something, I could have helped.. Why wouldn't you let anyone teach me..? she mentally asked as she clenched the necklace, as if the trinket would somehow supply her with the answers she wanted. No answer came, and she quickly tucked it back into her Kimono. She immediately stood, putting her bedroll away before beginning to cook breakfast. It was a stew, the last of their cooking supplies. They'd have to hunt for more and go to the market, or else their meals would be few and far between, not to mention painstakingly bland, "Oi.. Masenai-senpai, we need to go shopping.. We are out of provisions.. If we clean ourselves up no one would recognize us as survivors of the fire, right?" her voice was hopeful, seeing as she had never actually went shopping for her own cooking supplies before. She really, really wanted an excuse to go, because after the war she would surely be confined again.. She had to live as much as she could on this journey.. She had to experience everything, because after the war she was certain her family would be looking for a candidate for her to marry. The idea of an arranged marriage left a bad taste in her mouth, but the most curious part was that Himeka didn't even consider the fact that one or even both of her parents could die in this war. She automatically assumed they would win, although it couldn't be helped, she had never participated in a real battle, not that anyone was aware of that, but it was truth. Her parents strictly forbade her from learning the ninja way in order to 'protect' their daughter from the dangers of combat. Though fighting was in her blood, she was desperate to learn and began teaching herself by mimicking the training techniques of her parents, but only when no one was around. She couldn't let them discover her new hobby, or they would no longer allow her to watch them train. Her self training was not very effective, considering she had no way of knowing whether or not her stances, posture, or strategies were correct or efficient. Though so far, her amateur fighting skills still remained a secret. The seven days spent together were relatively peaceful, so her pride was still in tact... For now.

"Mind passing me the bowls Senpai? Breakfast is done. I hope you're hungry." And she pulled the kettle carefully away from the fire. The smell was intoxicating, or perhaps she was starving? Either way, she was actually rather proud of her work for once. It was among her best yet. Her aquamarine eyes landed on her traveling companion for the first time that morning, waiting for his response. She was hungry and hoped he would comply with minimal hesitancy, because she wanted to avoid getting to the point where her stomach would growl. She was a princess after all, and had to live up to certain standards, regardless of their current living situation. She had to keep a certain grace about herself, because if she didn't, what separated her from anyone else?

Masenai stirred in his sleep. He heard the Princess's nigtmare throes. They've been happening for some of the week they've been running to him. He kept still, sticking to his training of silence. "Sensei, this woman might be the death of me." The Ninja thought. When he felt it safe enough for him to get up without her fretting that she woke him, he rose up and stretched. Rubbing his face he looked at Himeka when she said they needed supplies. "Well, I don't see why not. We left sooner then expected. That attack jumped us ahead a few days. But I have enough money to get us more provisions." he stated. I will also try and reimburse what we buy if I find certain places to boost our financial needs." Besides, if food was short, he'd get blamed if he starved the princess!

But it also gave him an opportunity for him to go and gather info in his own unique way. By flirting with any local women and swooning them. That's all he'd go for, just sweeping. Nothing else, for he only slept with one woman, one time. Even that was a special case. He took the bowls silently and passed them to the Princess and waited for his food. "I suggest, Hime-san, we try and pass off as people who saw the fire, but simply need a wash if we're to reach any bathhouses. It's either that or we try to find a river."

As soon as his bowl came, he would eat the stew as moderately as possible. If he ate too fast he'd have gotten a bellyache. Too slow, and The unexpected duo would waste precious time. "I also trust you to buy only what we need to survive. Essentials only. Nothing beyond food, water, sake, and whatever else you think necessary. Now then, I believe a village is not far from here if memory serves." he hoped at least saying this much will cheer the Princess up from her situation.

"Well, I don't see why not. We left sooner then expected. That attack jumped us ahead a few days. But I have enough money to get us more provisions." he stated. I will also try and reimburse what we buy if I find certain places to boost our financial needs."

"Certain places?" Himeka asked in a clueless manner, totally unaware of how Masenai chose to spend his free time. She wondered what he meant by that, but decided it was none of her business. She had her first mission ever; to make it to one of the shrines alive. That's all that mattered, right? She would have never guessed that he meant gambling anyhow, Himeka never left the compound, so she was oblivious to gambling and seduction. She knew what flirting was, but she never partook in the practice before. It was considered indecent for a princess to partake in such scandalous behavior. She never rebelled enough to care about doing things like that, so she was fairly naΓ―ve when it came to the bar scene, gambling, and seductive behaviors. Her father tediously kept his little girl as sheltered as possible, but he never in a million years could have protected her from this, there was no expecting the current war. It struck out of nowhere, without warning. Himeka barely made it out alive, and all of her experiences from now and all the way up until they made it to their destination were up to her and Masenai. She felt a sense of freedom that she'd never felt before, but she was also scared. If she ended up in enemy hands, the war would be over. The thought of being captured was frightening, especially since there were fates worse than death, especially for women, even more hellish for women of high social standing like herself.. She didn't want to think about being taken, so she pushed the thought out of her mind.

"I suggest, Hime-san, we try and pass off as people who saw the fire, but simply need a wash if we're to reach any bathhouses. It's either that or we try to find a river."

"B-bathhouse!" Himeka quickly responded in a very timid manner, cheeks flushed a very dark shade of red. She didn't want to risk being seen naked, especially by Masenai, she also didn't want to bathe in public, especially in shallow water. She had to keep a certain level of decency, or else she couldn't marry someone of high regard. She ate quietly, not looking up once after the awkward exchange. She finished her food a bit quicker than Masenai did, but in his defense, she gave him a larger portion, seeing as he was a male and she had a figure to protect. She began cleaning the bowl out, and did the same with Masenai's when he was finished with his as well.

"I also trust you to buy only what we need to survive. Essentials only. Nothing beyond food, water, sake, and whatever else you think necessary."

"Of course. I'm getting used to this... humble, way of living. A few medical supplies would be nice, just in case.. Sake?" She asked with a skeptical arch of her brow. She'd never drank before, but she knew enough to know it wasn't an 'essential' item. Though, she did consider that perhaps it had another use than to intoxicate that she was unaware of? She'd never went on a mission before, so she wasn't certain if it served a second purpose or not. She would have to start making a list, because she was worried she would forget what to buy once she arrived in town. The new environment definitely would be a culture shock, and she definitely wanted to try at least one cuisine from each town, not that she'd tell Masenai. If he wanted Sake, she'd at least get one item for pleasure as well, though hers wouldn't leave her intoxicated.

"Now then, I believe a village is not far from here if memory serves."

He'd been this far before? She couldn't help but be surprised, even though it was fairly obvious that other ninja went on far away missions. Well, of course, he'd been this far. She was the only ninja who was never allowed to go on missions.. She was glad to finally see places other than the compound, because she was a princess.. Himeka gave a small smile, looking forward to the trip now that she'd get to see a new town for the first time. Himeka stood with a quiet nod, dusting off her armored kimono. She walked over to the nearby tree and her bag, dusting it off as well before slinging it over her shoulders. She was ready to go, mentally and physically. She definitely was looking forward to a bath, "Lead the way, Senpai." she stated, smiling a bit in his direction. She never once called him by name, despite knowing it. She called him Senpai the entire duration of their week together.

"Lead the way, Senpai." Masenai raised his own brow at the title. He didn't like not being called by his first name. To him in the world that Shinobi live in, ninjas address each other by name or simply insults. He remembers the latter well.

"Baka! Get moving before she questions your hesitance!" he would think his master would say to him and he got his own personal things packed and looked longingly at his katana. Thinking about his master and holding his blade did not mix, but he didn't care.getting up, he then walked towards a town he knew was close by.

---

Several hours passed, and after the ninjas washed themselves in the boathouse, which took a lot of convincing that there were gender separate rooms for the privately inclined. Masenai was now cleaned, and in one of the local gambling houses, playing his major hobby. Dice, bet on either even or odd and you would win. It was Masenai's favorite game. "Ha! Read me and weep boys! One and four odd! I win this round!" he shouted in small glee, raking in the winnings. Oh he made sure to lose some, just so he wouldn't get thrown out of town. Fair is fair, after all.

A minute later he walked out with his winnings in his coinpurse and hurried to an already discussed meeting spot in near the entrance of the village, but it was well within sight of the market. Masenai would keep a well keen eye on it, so that way the Princess was well watched and he'd arrive to her aid without question. "But I'm sure she's in good shape, she's must've been taught well."

Masenai heaved a sigh and kept an eye on her regardless. If she needed him, he'd be there in a heartbeat.

Himeka began shopping the moment she separated from Masenai. She chose foods that would last without going bad too quickly, carefully choosing the freshest ingredients, much to the irritation of many kiosk owners. She had a good eye for fresh produce, and it was very obvious to those she bought them from. She carried the bags rather easily, happy that her solo training did reap some sort of benefits, apparently in the form of stamina and speed, seeing as she made it out of the compound and village and only one enemy Ninja was fast enough to pursue. She was really proud of that fact, though she never bragged or anything, unsure of whether or not Masenai aided her before he showed his face to save her by the tree, the tree from her nightmares..

That was the closest she'd ever gotten to fight or flight instinct, and she completely froze. She wasn't sure if her companion was aware of it or not, but she'd been scared stiff ever since. She knew he was close by, but she wasn't entirely sure what the building he went in was for, aside from drinking. She could smell the scent of alcohol and sweat from outside of it's doors when they parted ways.

She moved on and went inside of a building adjacent to the one that Masenai was in, picking out plenty of bandages, needles, stitching thread and all the other supplies they would need if one of them were ever to be badly injured, but she hoped they wouldn't see any further aggressive confrontation, however unlikely. She knew they would run into more than a few fights before their journey was over, and she dreaded it. Soon Masenai would learn that she was a rookie ninja, a complete amateur with no skill in combat.

Ninja like her were considered disgraces to their villages if they were adults, children were given leniency, because they were still under instruction.. But she was well above the age, and would be given no mercy as far as insults were concerned, she knew this, and she wanted to keep it a well buried secret for as long as possible. Once her shopping was done, she looked around at a few vendors, noticing that one was offering some kind of fish she'd never heard of, and it smelled great. She paid the man for it, taking a bite and instantly a light blush came to her cheeks, "W-wow!! So good! Arigato~!" She chimed in an excited voice. She then rushed back to where Masenai was, considering that she'd finished her shopping and obtained her goal of trying one foreign cuisine.

"Senpai! I got the supplies. Where should I go to wait for you?" She asked, approaching him and the other men without hesitation. Now that she was cleaned up, it was far more obvious that she was very attractive than it had been in the days prior. Her navy blue hair was straight and silky, and her aquamarine eyes were bright and lively, far more than usual. She was definitely enjoying the new town. Then she noticed all of the men at the table and smiled sweetly, realizing it would be rude to not introduce herself after interrupting, "Hajimemashite! ([Roughly] Translate: Nice to meet you!) I'm Kurumi, I'm with him. I apologize, I will be gone in a moment!" she then bowed politely, far more formal of an introduction than usually given in this sort of environment. Though she gave a false name, one of her pet cat. She wouldn't forget it easily, and she planned to use it from now on. Seeing as her real name would draw too much unwanted attention. It was too close to the Japanese word for princess (Hime). Plus Masenai called her Hime-chan, so that wouldn't make matters any less conspicuous. An alias was her only option.

She definitely didn't even realize how much she stood out, especially compared to the scantily clad women who waitressed and did "other" things for the men that entered the gambling house. She was totally oblivious, innocently waiting on a reply. At least she knew it wasn't suitable to remain here, but it wasn't much better that she'd came in at all... One or two of the men were 'admiring' her beauty, but Himeka was none-the-wiser.

"Senpai! I got the supplies. Where should I go and wait for you? Hajimemashite! I'm Kurumi, I'm with him I apologize, I will be gone in a moment!" Masenai was there watching the Princess form her cover at that moment and some how keep an oblivious look. Masenai stood up. "Let's get going now." he stated. He got up and gave a warning glare to the individuals present and hurried her towards a friendly Inn away from the gambling den. "That was way too close. Those men looked like they wanted to kidnap you. I told you we'd meet near the square! That was a rookie mistake, not that I'm calling you a rookie 'Kuru-San'. You don't go innocently into a gambling den if you don't plan on betting, as my Sensei taught in her first lesson."

He sighed and listened to her shocked reaction. "Well how was I supposed to get revenue? Get a job on the run? You'll thank me for having this love for dice. It'll pay for tolls and other things. Anyhow, it's close to lunch, should we have some right now?"

"That was too close. Those men looked like they wanted to kidnap you."

"I'm used to people trying to kidnap me. How many attempts do you think I've survived? Have you even heard about how many times the compound was attacked? Even by our own people! You can't spend your whole life in fear. If that were the case, I should even keep an eye open around you. I've had ninja that have fought beside of my father sneak into my quarters and try to kidnap me." She responded in a huff, not seeing the big deal. A ransom was a ransom, and she was a nobody now, how much could they really ask for to release her? She didn't seem to understand that kidnap often went beyond 'ransom' fees. She'd never actually been kidnapped, so she wasn't aware of the full horrors of it. Rape, murder, torture, etc..

"I told you we'd meet near the square! That was a rookie mistake, not that I'm calling you a rookie 'Kuru-san'."

"That's what it sounded like, but I guess out here away from the compound there aren't a lot of consequences for speaking out of turn to a princess, are there? So I forgot where the square was, and I went looking for you. I didn't intend to stay! I saw what kind of women are in there! I have more respect for myself than to associate with concubines." She snapped back. She had both of her fists clenched to the point where her knuckles had already turned pale white. She knew she shouldn't have said that, but she couldn't help it. It came out before she knew what else to say, "It won't happen again. I'd rather roam town than ever go back in there. I can assure you!" Her tone was a lot different than her usual upbeat and cheerful temperament. It was sharp and kind of angry, she definitely went into defensive mode as he reprimanded her. She wasn't used to being scolded by anyone other than her father, and so far she didn't like it very much. Not. At. All.

'You don't go innocently into a gambling den if you don't plan on betting, as my sense I taught in her first lesson."

"My father never mentioned gambling houses! I've never had to go inside of one before, because I've always had money. How was I supposed to know!?" She retorted in a slightly offended manner, that typically worked whenever someone questioned her ninja tutelage. Her father was the King of their region, and he didn't resort to gambling, ever. Besides, no one typically wished to insult the king's methods. Of course if he taught his daughter, he wouldn't mention gambling houses, brothels, or anything of the like. A princess had no business in any of those places. She was confident that that would squash the argument, because how would Masenai know that he did not however teach his daughter the way of ninja?

"Well how was I supposed to get revenue? Get a job on the run? You'll thank me for having this love for dice. It'll pay our tolls and other things.

"I-I don't know.. I figured that my father always funded the missions and took his cut whenever the mission is complete. I've never had to worry about money, for obvious reasons." She replied back in a defensive manner. She knew that ninja missions were not cheap, most villages didn't have their own Ninja, so they hired them. The travel fee plus the job really brought in the cash to their villages, of course others were envious, at the rate the ninja villages associated with her father were going, they would have overtaken the entire country, eventually, "My parents have always given me money, I've never had to worry about earning it, I thought they at least somewhat funded all the ninja on missions." She responded in an oblivious tone. She worked her way around admitting that she'd never been on a mission before, because that would only lead to her own embarrassment and his ridicule, the fight would be enormous, she knew that much. A ninja without skill was like a drunk priest, no one respected them.

Anyhow, it's close to lunch, should we have some?"

"We have pheasant, pork, and a small portion of beef... We have to eat all of that soon, but I thought it was a nice change of pace compared to stew." She added in a nonchalant tone. She wasn't very fond of the 'road food' they consumed, but she never complained about it, it would only make him wonder why she wasn't used to it by now. She had a lot of secrets, but she was never more adamant about keeping one as much as she wished to keep anyone from finding out she was a no talent ninja. Her parents made the decision and she would reap the consequences. It was then that she shot out of the Inn. She had something else to do, something she doubted that Masenai would allow her to do unsupervised. Besides, she couldn't focus and do her best on a full stomach! Himeka was well aware that she was twice Masenai's speed. He was a much better ninja, but her speed was definitely on her side in situations like this. She kept going until she felt she'd lost him, stopping in the woods nearby the village. She climbed a tree, making her way towards the edge of one of the more sturdy branches and began balancing on one foot, raising the other until it was in a triangular shape at her side.

It had been a while since she'd gotten to train, and she didn't want to lose her current skills due to their situation. She couldn't just ask Masenai, he'd probably want to go with her or spar against her.. She couldn't let that happen, ever!! So she'd sneak out like this, she knew she could outrun him. Though the only thing he knowledge of the land in his favor..

Once she'd held her balance for a while on that foot, she switched legs and began again. She didn't have a lot in her favor, but grace and speed were definitely her strong points. She did her best to play them up, even if it meant working really hard on aspects most other ninja spent little time improving. She saw her parents mainly focus on strength training, but Himeka knew that was going to take her years to reach their level.

She just hoped that she could finish her training before Masenai found her. Though she doubted he would look for her here.. Especially at the top of a tree. She had a lot of camouflage here, right?

Masenai was shocked at how fast she sped off and sighed. "Ah well, she has her training rituals. And I have mine." he said to himself as he removed the Katana from his waist and began tending to it, making sure it was well cleaned and sharpened for the times ahead. He looked on it silently, smiling at the memories he had with it as it came into his mind.

---

"Akame-Sensei, brought you the extra sake you requested!" The Nine year old apprentice stated as he set it next to her as she gambled with a fierce gang of Yakuza. Yellow Lupine like eyes trailed the cup as it rolled and it turned upside down. Akame bet Odd as she then made a remark. "No tricks now, that dice better not be loaded. The Yakuza began to look at each other nervously as they removed the cup, the bodyguards began to attack but Akame was a proud relative of the Hanzo family. Assassinating them was an art to her. Poor young Masenai ducked away from the fight and threw a kunai at an attacker. Akame dodged Masenai's attack as the yakuza took the knife full blast.

When it was all over, Akame walked over to her apprentice and charge. She tapped her foot impatiently, her bun in her hair slightly disheveled as she struck his rear end with the flat of her ivory handled katana in silent scolding.

---

Masenai cringed at that memory. He then sighed and chuckled. "My aim was off that day, later we shared a laugh about the looks on their faces." he chuckled silently at the thought as he finished tending to the katana and sheathed it, his hand moving away from its ivory handle. He smiled ruefully at the feel. His mind snapped back to the mission as he walked out to the balcony of the two bedroom suite he rented for them and looked along the tree line, wondering if Himeka would be there. They had to discuss their next move. As in plan out their next stop on their travels and how they'd get there.

Himeka stayed out for an hour and a half. She spent 45 minutes in the tree doing her balance training, and the other 45 minutes running at full speed through the trees, doing her best to dodge and maneuver through the foliage. She realized just how important this training was now that she was in a new environment, seeing as it wasn't nearly as easy in a foreign place. She tripped several times, earning herself a few scrapes and bruises, but was happy to be improving herself. No matter how many times she fell, she got back up and tried again. Realizing that a lot of time has gone by, Himeka began to return to the inn.

She stopped at a nearby stream and freshened up, removing all the twigs from her hair, cleaning her hands and face off, along with her cuts. Once she found herself presentable, she returned to the village and went to their suite. She returned quietly, and went straight to cooking without announcing her presence.

She chose to cook the pheasant, chopping it up and picking out some of the vegetables. It didn't take her long at all to get the chicken roasted, and she began cooking the vegetables as well. They couldn't afford to get sick by eating anything raw.

She closed her eyes as she got a moment to relax now that the main dish was finished and her mind immediately wandered to her parents. She wasn't even sure if they were alive.. It was a scary feeling and she felt so alone. She couldn't talk to Masenai, about anything. They just met, but there was also the fact that she wasn't allowed to share her secrets with him. If she told him that she couldn't fight, no one would marry her and her father would be overthrown as King. Many people died for discovering this secret..

The ninja wouldn't want a weakling as their future Queen, she knew that. She was well aware that she hasn't earned that title. She let out a sigh as she set the table, putting decent portions on both of their plates. She then decided to knock on Masenai's door, "Lunch is finished." She said in a plain tone, having worked out most of her frustrations during training, but she was still a little mad at him. She wasn't going to forgive him any time soon, but they did have to eat, they would need their strength. Regardless of if she didn't like him, they would have to speak to each other. Their survival and the mission depended on their communication. She had to suck it up every now and then, but it didn't mean that she had to enjoy it.

She sat down and ate quietly, not looking up to see if he joined her or not. To be completely honest, she wasn't even sure if he was still here. She kept her light blue eyes shut as she ate, keeping a pristine air about her. It was obvious by her attitude that she was still pissed, but she was mature enough to know when to swallow her pride, most of the time.

She was definitely ready to leave this town and move on to the next one. She wanted to put this behind them and to get back to her old life. Traveling wasn't all that it was cracked up to be, and she missed her family. She had to disinfect a few of her wounds, but only one was currently visible, the rest were hidden by her clothes. She had one cut on her cheek in the shape of an x, so upon further inspection it was actually two cuts. The two abrasions were still slightly bleeding, even though she'd washed them off at the river, "So where to next? she asked in a businesslike manner, completely disinterested and formal.

Masenai appeared at the call for lunch. He was doing several push ups and was wiping sweat from his brow as he took some food and ate. He could feel the air of tension between them. He couldn't figure out why she was still mad. Did he touch a nerve somewhat? If so what did he do to touch it?

"So what now?" he heard her say as he then pulls out a map. "Let's see, here's the shrine." He stated, pointing at its location, "Here we are...I'd say tonight we head eastward to this town here. There's a place where I can gather Intel that I know fellow Ninjas frequent. We can get an update about the enemy movements there and an update on this insane war. Sound like a good plan?" he looked up at her for an answer.
