Ume jumped when the crane landed on her desk, but she recovered quickly, glancing over at Haruka. She'd been too busy daydreaming and not paying attention to the teacher. The only time she actually tried to pay attention was during English. Other than that, she could get by fine with looking back at the lessons in the books when she felt like it. She read the note and scowled after realizing that Mori-senpai was trying to set her up. Still... Spending time with Haruka sounded nice. When the teacher turned around, she scribbled on it quickly and dropped it onto Oshiro's desk.

I wouldn't mind joining, but I confess I don't know much about music.
~Yoshida

She turned back to the window, watching a bird land in its nest and a few cars drive by here and there. With a sigh, she looked at the clock. Only four more hours until lunch... As she waited for Haruka's reply, she tapped the desk in a small, unintentional rhythm.

A smirk crossed Haru's lips when it was confirmed that Ume would join. She'd spent so much time trying to get members and ultimately failing that she had practically given up on the Music Club, and now that she had a member, she was confident it would work out. She tossed a similar note across the two desks to Mika simply to confirm that she would join them as well. She then started on as reply to Ume's message.

I'm so glad you're joining, to be honest! And I can teach you about music if you want! I'm better at the guitar, but I know how to play the piano, and that seems like something that would suit you better. I'll tell you more about it at lunch.
Oshiro

Haru refolded the crane and tossed it back onto Ume's desk, trying her best to hide the light girly blush that was finding it's way to her cheeks. She had a reputation to uphold. Why the hell are you blushing anyways Haru?! There's no reason! Haru scolded herself. But then her eyes wandered back to the pretty redhead beside her. ...right? Haru shook her head in frustration. What even?! This wasn't normal. Not normal at all. She looked back to the front and concentrated her thoughts on the lesson, glaring through the whole row in front of her in the process.

The uncanny concentrated glare Haru had going on didn't last long, as she got bored quickly, dozing off into a quiet slumber. Her dreams were filled with distant memories. Memories of childhood, memories of meeting Ume and Mika and Satoshi, memories of playing games with the neighborhood kids and memories of learning music. Haru would've been embarrassed had she known of the drool that was making it's way down the side of her mouth.

"That's three," Okamura muttered, glaring down at the now-familiar pile of glass pieces. "This is strange." Hooliganism was not exactly common in Yamasaki. Akira had read about groups that would do this sort of thing, but only in manga. This was different, more personal. For a moment, he felt a personal outrage towards the anonymous perpetrator, then he remembered his job and ran back to the van. He started to wonder if they could just wear the harnesses in the van and save time.

As Akira stepped out of the van, he glanced over at the school and idly wondered what must be going on in there. He couldn't remember the school schedule anymore, but he figured that classes had started now. He doubted he'd see anybody he knew today. He didn't usually, not since he stepped out into the metaphorical waves.

"You think we should report this to the police?" he asked.

"Hah?" The question surprised Okamura enough that he paused in donning the harness.

"I mean, it seems like someone might be knocking these out."

"Oh." Okamura was silent after that for a few moments, then said, "I'll give Officer Yoshida a call when we get back to the station." His tone failed to convince Akira, and the youth made a mental note to bring it up again when they got back, and to call Yoshida-san himself if necessary. Okamura then took the new bulb and hooked himself onto the pole. "Ready?"

Akira grabbed the other necessities and hooked his harness onto the pole. Time to hang 'em high. Again.

Kimiko looked up when Hato entered with the older Oshiro girl. She smiled warmly at the two of them. "Hello, Hato-san, Oshiro-san,"
she greeted as she straightened out some of her papers. "If you have your club activity forms, you can put them in the basket over there and I'll look them over after school. Right now, I believe it's time for school."

As if on cue, the high school bell rang, signaling the start of classes. She gestured for everyone to leave the student council room and locked it behind her. With the others, she walked to the classrooms, bidding Oshiro a farewell when they passed her room. They entered the classroom moments before the teacher and settled down. Kimiko sighed as she took out her workbooks. This was going to be a long day...

Ume smiled at the idea of the of learning to play and instrument. No one had ever offered before. She looked over at Haruka to find that she had fallen asleep. Eventually, some drool started coming out of her mouth. Ume laughed softly into her hand and leaned over to poke the black-haired girl. "You might want to wake up, Oshiro-san," she whispered. She poked her again. "Oshiro? Wakey wakey...

Shirudo slowly peeked his head into the clubroom and took in the personnel already present. Most of the council wasn’t present, as they were most likely making their way to their morning classes. The only people he could spot was the tight-knit trio of Kimiko, Minami and Saki, all of them were relatively acquainted with the shy student. Almost instantly he received the green light to enter the room from the president herself. The boy timidly nodded and gulped back uneasiness as he slowly paced his way towards the basket. With one last glance at the parcels, he dumped them gently and nodded to the council. ”If at all possible, could we discuss club funds before my club meeting? I’d like to have a stable thesis before I begin to map out plans with my members.” The request wasn’t strong in its delivery by the slightest. It was a miracle it even left his mouth and were able to carry out every syllable through the medium of air. Before the president could respond, the bell abruptly rang and notified them that it was time to make way to their classes. Following suit, he filed out of the classroom behind the others, keeping in tow with Yuko. The girl’s classroom was in the middle of their route, and Shirudo bid the girl farewell with haste. ”I’ll see you during lunch, alright? Good luck surviving through the morning.” And with that, he gave the girl a minute bow before continuing onto his own classroom.

The boy sat back down in his seat next to Renya and let out a sigh of relief. Since the teacher was yet to arrive, he was half-tempted to begin paging through a manga magazine to kill the time. By the time he had arrived, his blonde friend had already introduced herself to the rest of the class. Such an act could never be accomplished with Shirudp’s calmness completely retained. He gave the girl a greeting smile and straightened his newsboy cap and tie, looking presentable. ”Oh, right. The Gamers’ Club will be having a meeting today. Would you be interested in shadowing and checking it out?” And now that the invitation was sent, Shirudo could rest assured that he had fulfilled all tasks he had set out to do that morning. Soon enough, the teacher had arrived and began yet another grueling lesson. By this point, the boy had gotten used to the monotone voice which dictated his academic career. It was a recurring cycle with no end, a constant revolution day in and day out. He glanced at the back of his classmates’ heads, deciphering which ones he somewhat knew. Along with being on good terms with a few high schoolers, he also knew a few middle schoolers in Yuko’s age range. In addition, he was surprisingly close to musician who was his nextdoor neighbor. All of them played their own part, strummed their own chords in his life. His very average life, if one would.
