~ Personality ~"I stand on the fine line between maturity and naïveté."
Darcy had always been a very pragmatic prince, and he finds pride in that. With a serious demeanor and a no-nonsense aura, he's a bit of a deterrent when it comes to people who search for a more easy-going conversation partner. All of Darcy's actions have a purpose, and while he won't abandon a chat out of courtesy, he would think about the hundreds of other tasks he could accomplish at that time. He is cool, calculated, and down-to-earth, in the sense that he isn't one for airy ideals. His goals are often concrete and attainable, and he uses his mind before acting. Wasting time by forever planning and dreaming is not the Capricorn way. He holds his position with pride, but doesn't let it go to his head. He credits his success to his hard work, and looks down on success garnered by mere luck.

Though practical, his goals can be a bit ambitious. But Darcy, being the workaholic that he is, strives for turning his ambitions into his reality. Only sickness or death can hold him back, and he's quite the hearty individual. It is without a doubt that amongst the other princes and princesses, he is the most hard-working. He can also seem a bit boring, but to Darcy, seeing his work come to fruition is all he asks for. He can seem a bit selfish, but his actions are meant to yield results. Persistent and adamant, he will find ways to achieve his goals. Admitting defeat is the very last thing he wishes to do, nor does he plan to end with the second best result. He won't hesitate to ask for assistance, but only if the help is efficient and doesn't do more harm than good. He takes calculated risks, but doesn't get carried away. Best to maintain his assets than lose them idiotically.

The second prince isn't shy, but he does tend to keep to himself. He's not even remotely emotionally expressive as, say, his Cancer-influenced brethren, and he likes to keep it that way. In public, he is all business— even during his "leisure time." He isn't fond of other people exaggerating their feelings either. If one perchance happens to witness Darcy exhibit anything stronger than a furrowed brow, he must be in a very frustrating situation. When such a moment arises, he would briefly burst into a "fit," then stomp off to complete other tasks to lose steam.

Despite his seemingly aloofness, Darcy is still a person. He's a bit archaic, and he mumbles often when he is alone and in thought. He is frank when asked to speak, but he doesn't always talk about his kingdom's finances (as that is confidential.) He has a dry sense of humor, and people often find him amusing and funny, even if he doesn't mean to be. His seriousness in all situations is easy to poke fun at— others find him a joy to tease. There are moments when he misreads the air and says something contextually odd, and ensuing such comment is hilarity and his confusion and/or embarrassment. His face can be very expressive when in solitude, and he can be a bit dramatic on his own. He's prone to negativity when left with nothing to do, so he's constantly in search of something to work on. While work is very, very, very important to him, next on the list of importance are his close relationships. Those who are deemed to be close in his heart can see the more relaxed and open side. Even with that small circle of people, he's not one to often share his feelings. But when it is vice-versa, he's no qualms with sharing his opinions, and he particularly doesn't mind offering solutions to the other party's obstacles. He finds gratification in his work, and while climbing to the top he sometimes looks behind him to make sure his followers and peers aren't lagging behind. All is well when all is prospering. Sharing his wisdom and experience is looked forward to, just as he admires the experience and wisdom of those above him. Rejecting his opinion can offend him, however, since rarely is he ever in the wrong. His self-righteousness is a gift to others, and having his kindness thrown back at him makes him regret being vulnerable to share.

~ History ~"Time doesn't move backwards, and it should stay that way."

As publicly known...

Despite second in line to the throne, Darcy was groomed to the be the ruler of the Caprians, although his older brother of four years was the crowned prince. No possible heir of the throne was allowed to slack off, and they must be ready for any possible reason they may become the next in line. For it was Capricorn nature to always be prepared to assume new responsibilities. Darcy seemed to be more aware of that fact than his older brother and two younger siblings, though he accepted his position as the next best. He was just as prominent as his older brother, attending events and what not.

Two years after gaining his KĂ©rata at age 13, Darcy was to make the pilgrimage to the top of the mountain once again. His older brother was announced dead; it was assumed he was killed in action in a war on a different continent. After receiving his second KĂ©rata at 15, Darcy was crowned ruler of the Caprians. Shortly after, his mother and father left the castle for their separate reasons. The unease after the eldest son's apparent death gradually died down, for it seemed as if he never disappeared. Work carried on as usual, after the funeral. As if whoever was in charge just came back to where they left off. And it has been that way since.

Family
The Capricorn House is a rather traditional house, in that each member of the family is designated duties according to their roles. Although there aren't any laws limiting marriage, the crowed prince or princess is expected to have heirs to the throne. Normally, the spouse would be a noble from the kingdom, though marrying regular citizens is not unheard of. Marrying a royal from another kingdom is a whole other matter, and dealing with the situation is a case by case matter.

Winston Aldous Capricorn XII, Older brother :: presumably dead at 19
The former crowned prince. Lost in a war on a different continent. The twelfth Winston, he was prodigious in the art of strategy and war— such as the Winstons before him. Seen as a natural born leader, he was more charismatic than his siblings, but carried the air of responsibility and duty with him, being a Capricorn.

Keenan Giles Capricorn III, Younger Brother :: 20
Now second in line to the throne, he somewhat resents his situation. Previously contented with his two brothers above him, he still harbors ill feelings toward his mother for leaving them. He believes the oldest is dead, though bitterly. He's dutiful, but he's just as moody. Sometimes his emotions get the best of him, and he occasionally puts off his tasks for recreation time.

Orea Chantal Capricorn II, Younger Sister :: 16
Youngest of the Royal Capricorn family, and the only daughter, she acted mainly as the glue of her older brothers. While she loved her parents, she was more of Darcy's responsibility after she learned how to walk. A lady of a few words, she's mainly preoccupied with her studies, although sometimes she accompanies her brothers on their trips for learning.

Rochester Lombard Capricorn IV, Father :: 59
The previous ruling prince, before his first son became of age. He was one of the oldest Prince's of his time, and also one of the most isolated. Due to his age, he wasn't one to attend event his younger fellow royalty had hosted. He didn't refuse if the occasion were important enough, but he dedicated his heart and soul to his kingdom and, intransitively, to his family. The sudden shock of losing his son combine with the harsh conditions he put under himself detoriorated his health greatly, thus he was moved to a more isolated spot in the Caprian Mountains, free from the toxicities of the coal mines and the stress of the Caprian atmosphere.

Lilith Nicole Capricorn, Mother :: 49
Born a lower-ranked noble, Darcy's mother captured the old Prince's heart with her airy, yet down-to-earth personality. She had the Capricorn charm, but the influence of neighboring kingdoms— and their story is somewhat an over told romance among the Capricorn people. She left with her husband when he was relocated, but for the next year's up to the present, she spent her time traveling around the continent, and then some, doing, what she tells her children, "work." Frequenting her husband but continuing her travels, she sends letters to the Capricorn Castle on occasion. Her visits are just as rare.

Winston Aldous Capricorn XI, Grandfather :: 81
The eleventh Winston, who had assisted allied kingdoms in battles of his time. He's alive, as the Capricorns usually, save for Rochester, live healthy, hardy lives. He lives at the estate of his wife, a noble-born, and acts as an advisor for the Council, from his bed. He insists on keeping up with current politics, specifically concerning war, and is revered and respected by his grandchildren. For the most part. He sends letters to the Castle advising Darcy on the upcoming war, and requests that he stays informed.

Estelle Davine Arlyn, Aunt :: 51
Darcy's half-aunt on his mother's side. She is the daughter of Lilith's father and his previous wife— both being Aquarians. She resides near the Aquarian-Caprian border, and she is a consul of the Capricorn branch of the Embassy of Aquarius. She visits the castle regularly, and as a Caprian and Aquarian citizen, uses her connections to bade the Aquarius kingdom to join their side. She often acts without permission of her nephew, to Darcy's annoyance, but she is much appreciated.

Melanie Arlyn Hildegard, Cousin :: 26
[i]Darcy's cousin, and Estelle's daughter. She works as Darcy's personal information broker and is involved closely with the Capricorn, Scorpio and Aquarius Kingdoms. She comes from a long line of personal aids to the Caprian throne, though she is among the first to be related to the Royal family itself. Most personal aid have been a bloodline of the Hildegard family and other Scorpios— another exception being Darcy's grandfather-in-law.

~ Side ~"My kingdom is indebted to the King. I will think of this as repayment. Otherwise, I would have no involvement."
Darcy is on the side of the King. Otherwise he would be neutral, but he decided it is better to lose one sponsorship instead of both, despite his more favorable view of the Queen. Because his land is much closer to the King's than the Queen's, most of his immediate benefits are from the latter. And strategically speaking, it wouldn't be intelligent to be an enemy of a neighboring kingdom. His own kingdom is always first.

~ Romantic Interest ~"I... No."

~ Thoughts on Others ~"These are simply my observations or personal experiences. I don't care for gossip."

King Constellation "I sympathize with him, having his life threatened by his fellow ruler. Yet, I don't understand how he was so yielding to the invitation to war. Normally I'd find him to be a rather venerable man, having taken responsibility of our Kingdom's for generations. I admit that I find him a bit too lax at times, but I don't see anything wrong with ruling as a comrade rather than a god. His affability is actually quite attractive. In the charismatic sense."

Queen Stars "I will admit, a role model after my father would have been Her Majesty. Ever since I was young, I've tried to emulate her dignified manner and take up responsibilities such as she had. Her beauty is both magnetizing, and intimidating. I honestly held her in my highest regards and I still very much do, but I wouldn't have thought she'd go so far as to declare war on her partner. It's not very in character of her, if I may say so."

Aries "While we share similar ambitions, she's difficult to communicate with. She's too impulsive, and I wish she'd take more time with negotiations than she usually does. Nevertheless, I admire her for all the obstacles she had overcome to be where she is today. And I could learn from her spontaneity. I try not to get involved in her chaotic scheming, however. Though that seems unavoidable with this oncoming war. I pray she can come to reason with herself."

Taurus TBA

Gemini "Her way with words is compelling, firstly. I find her admirable in her ability to not only accept the crime that had taken her voice away, but work around it and move on. I rely on her kingdom for a number of our imports, and her kindness is always appreciated. Though, I have heard about her when she isn't so pleased and, frankly, I hope to never incur such wrath upon myself."

Cancer "I've little knowledge of the current prince of the Cancerians— though he must be a better man than the one from before, according to my reports. He isn't going around philandering, I know for sure. I've heard he has... a couple of issues. As long as he is doing his job, I can't bat another eye. I've little time for someone else's drama, nor do I feel compelled to involve myself in it. I will send my best wishes, at the very least."

Leo "She is aggressive and somehow difficult to understand, but easy to predict. We're similarly goal-oriented, although she seems to be motivated by means different than mine. I hate to be on her bad side, lest she find some underhanded tactic to overthrow me as well. But we often work compatibly well, business-wise. We seem to cancel each other's weaknesses."

Virgo "I quite enjoy her company, though rare that may be. She's proper, respectable, and is dutiful to her country. I completely respect her decision to be neutral, since she's always thought of her people before herself. While I admire her for her acute sense and attention to detail, I worry that she can be a bit too fussy. Not that I'm one to talk, being a perfectionist. But I do believe she deserves more credit for her loyalty."

Libra TBA

Scorpio "The only man who seems to see straight through me. I appreciate not needing to go through any unnecessary courtesies when we interact. It's as if we're often on the same wavelength, and I do find him and his thoughts, though little, invaluable. I respect his privacy, though I admit, I sometimes wonder what he keeps hidden beneath his exterior. Either way, I enjoy being in his presence, and frankly, I greatly admire him as a man of duty and of character."

Sagittarius TBA

Capricorn "Me. Well, I'm a number of things."

Aquarius TBA

Pisces "It's inconceivable how she remained alive. I would have thought it was all a plot, but from what I know, she's not the most capable of wiping out her own siblings. At least, that what it seems. It's tragic, but her people need her more than ever. She has great talent, and she's not stupid as her clumsiness makes her out to be. If she put more care into her position I could possibly tolerate her in person.

The Kingdom

The Kingdom of Capricorn covers a rather vast area of land from the north-eastern most mountains to the small Makarian Sea. While the Kingdom is prosperous, a lot of the land is inhabitable, either for the extreme inclination or lack of accessibility. For the lands which are inhabited, the towns are rather varied depending on where on the mountains they stand. Towns at the base of the mountains have an easier time farming and is where most of the kingdom's trade centers are, since the area is the most accessible. The further up the mountains one goes, the more difficult the climb becomes, and the less habitable it becomes. Towns further up the mountains are either mining towns, or spiritual hotspots. Several streams come from the snowy glaciers at the top of the mountains, and the rivers from the melted peaks are a valuable source of water.

Seasons affect the climate of each mini region in different ways. At the base of the mountain, the weather is fairly pleasant and warm in the dry season. During the rainy season, towns are often cautious of flash flooding, though because of their irrigation systems, such an event rarely occurs. As the elevation increases, the difference between the two seasons gradually and slowly fades. While midway up the mountain, forests flourish and the weather is usually constant, the air is considerably cooler and more constant. Cliffs become more apparent and at the zeniths, there is only snow.

The Capricorn Government is mostly a monarchy, just like most other kingdoms. It's not an absolute monarchy, however. The Kingdom is divided into three main sectors. In each sector, there is a council made up of each town's representatives, of whom are usually voted. Whenever there is something that would be taken up to Darcy, a council would first create a document outlining all of the demands and such. The other councils make adjustments or adjust according to their thoughts, and the document would then go to Darcy and the royal council. He then would address the demands with the council, and after discussing and negotiating, the final result of the demand is determined by Darcy. Upon Darcy's long absence, his Advisor would temporarily decide on what to do until Darcy's return. The process is somewhat reversed for the other way around. If Darcy were to introduce a new law, he must first present it to the royal council, then share with the three regional councils. No matter what the others say, he still has the final say in enacting the order. But before doing so, it must be done with the acknowledgment of the word of his people. Every month, Darcy holds a grand meeting with both the royal council and sent representatives of the regional councils to discuss whatever there is to discuss. The prince also makes a point to visit the various parts of his kingdom as well to manage local issues.

The Caprian Military isn't specialized for the front lines. Due to the geography, the military act more as sentinels and guards than soldiers. There are forts scattered on the mountains, in charge of defending the people and enacting law enforcement. Much of the expertise of the military also depend on location. Higher elevation calls for more aerial defense, while lower at the bottom is more hand to hand. The Kingdom also has some sort of a naval force, but it acts more as a border check than a frontal force, though they are equipped to handle any disturbances. The justice system is rather simple— people are considered innocent until proven guilty. Severity of crime shall affect the degree of court a trial must take place. All citizens of the Capricorn Kingdom have a right to a jury. There are numerous town courts, three regional courts, and then the royal court.

Capricorn Castle: Located closer to the bottom of Nashira Mountain, but not quite at the base. Surrounded by flora but built on a solid foundation. A very traditional architecture piece which has remained unchanged for most of its existence. Built of stone, and very practical, but warm and a showcase of the Prince's achievements.

Deneb Algedi: A sacred and venerated monastery located at the top of Nashira Mountain. Only higher spiritual persons or the members of the Royal family may enter it.

The KĂ©rata Trial: When a prince or princess turns thirteen years old, they are expected to travel up to Deneb Algedi on the following Saturday. The prince or princess must make their pilgrimage with no more than four attendants, and can only bring a rucksack's worth of supplies. At Deneb Algedi, they are cleansed with the spring waters of the mountain before going through four days of rituals. The first day is the cleansing and rest. The second day is the rite of responsibility and the day of work. The third day is a day of silence and meditation. The final day, if the prince or princess succeed in their tasks, they are granted their KĂ©rata, a head ornament resembling horns. It's more of a coming-of-age ceremony than a coronation, but heirs to the throne are required to earn their KĂ©rata in order to rule the country. A prince or princess does the trial once again alone when they take over the Kingdom and receive a bigger set of KĂ©rata, and once again a year after they have been married, but with their spouse.

Castra Springs: Cut into a middle of Dabih, the second largest mountain, is a cavern containing a special place for pilgrimages or other blessings. The cavern isn't difficult to find, and since its discovery resorts have been built outside for visitors. In the cavern, there are three large springs. Embedded into the walls and in the springs, there are ordinary gems, then there are the Castra Sapphires. Under certain conditions, the Sapphires glow different shades of blue or purple, giving the spring the nickname "Glowing Springs."

KrĂłnos: The capital of the kingdom, containing the Castle. A rather small city, inhabited mainly by nobles and friends of the royal family.

Enki: The former capital from the beginning of times. Much higher on the Nashira Mountain, now a sacred place for spirituals.

Makara: The biggest city, located at the base of the mountains near the Makarian Sea. The hub of trade and a city of merchants. A considerable contrast to the agricultural cities beside it.

Prince Darcy Montel Capricorn

A week had past since the sudden declaration of war between the rulers of High. Within that time, the Prince had chosen his side and begun preparations for the upcoming blood fest. A part of Darcy hoped that either the King or Queen could change their minds before time drags on and their choice can no longer be changed, yet he knew it didn't do well to dawdle on what hasn't yet happened. He heard that aside from himself, only the Piscins are on the side of the King. That in itself is quite the problem, considering who aligns with the other side. Adding to that dilemma, there came about another disturbing inconvenience.

Darcy sat in his wooden chair with his hands folded, and his eyes glared at the letter on his desk. Much of the night's sleep the past week was lost to planning and preparing. And here he was, forced to spare his precious seconds on the slip of paper before him. Though skeptical of its credibility, he couldn't afford to ignore a possible disaster. He tapped his foot lightly, deep in thought. "Keenan," Darcy called.

The younger prince looked up from his own desk, his eyes nearly as sleep-deprived as his brother's. Before him lay spreadsheets of used strategies and plans from battles of the past. "Darce?"

"Send a message to our grandfather. Tell him of this," The older prince nodded at the letter with distaste, "and inform the other kingdoms that we must all pick a side, regardless of our beliefs."

Keenan raised a brow. "Even to the enemy kingdoms?"

There was a pause, then Darcy stood. "If you won't, I will. Only a week and they're already our arch nemeses? Nonsense." There were individuals within every kingdom, but Darcy believed that they at least all wanted what was best for their people, despite how twisted and chaotic a few of those kingdoms may be. He still couldn't believe that they were thrust into this war for virtually nothing. And now he had to treat what could be just a prank as an actual threat to his people's prosperity. Asking the neutral kingdoms to partake in a bloody mistake would be difficult, no doubt, but he at least had to make his intentions clear. It was enough being a part of this war, they needn't be troubled by some other power, real or not. He suspected they would all be sucked into action sooner or later, anyhow. "Anyway, do it. Write the letters now, be tact, and get it over with," Darcy grabbed his coat and started for the door. "I'm leaving to check on the southern garrisons. Have Orea help with your duties on her break from her studies."

Defeated, Keenan complied, "I'll get right on it." He stood from his desk and went to grab the threatening letter before waving his brother off. "See you in a bit."

Darcy nodded and walked briskly through the halls of the castle. His eyes darkened as he thought of the things he must do in the following days, let alone the next month. His goal at the moment was to prepare for whatever disaster was waiting for them in three days. There's no guarantee all kingdoms would choose a side and prevent whatever that disaster may be, so he must act now.

Princess Alexis Conall Aries

“Princess! Another letter!”

Alexis turned, her hand resting against the map she had been working on. The map was exaggeratedly huge, noting not only cities but small towns and basic geography. Several pins were located in the Capricorn and Pisces kingdoms, main sites as well as other spots of weakness. Despite having just started, there were quite a few. “Can’t you see I’m busy?” Sighing, she motioned for the messenger to come over, plucking the letter from his hands. Alexis held a hand out and the messenger paused for a bit before letting out an ‘oh’, rifling through his bag for a knife and placing the handle in her palm. She cut open, taking out the letter.

“Who’s this from again?” She asked, turning without even a glance from the first word.

“Prince Capricorn.”

Alexis nearly laughed. “Him? What the hell does he want?”

The messenger fiddled with his hands. “I
 Don’t know. I didn’t read the letter.”

She turned her eyes to the letter, reading it over. Her eyebrow raised a bit in interest before folding the paper up and dumping it on the desk. “You are dismissed. And tell my commanders to meet me after lunch.” Alexis started back to her map before stopping and looking back at him. “Your name is Gabriel, right?"

The messenger had turned to go before her voice broke through again. He nodded nervously. She examined him, eyes trying to discern what felt so strange about him. "You’re not an Arian, are you?”

The man felt himself squeak. “I am an Arian. I was born here and live here-“

“But you weren’t raised here.” She leaned against the wall, next to the map covered in pins. “You don’t have a vibe of someone who was raised in the Aries kingdom. Even the southern parts of here are extreme enough to toughen you up."

Gabriel stopped, feeling himself shudder. His eyes did not leave the Princess’s.

“Why did you come here? To the Aries kingdom?”

Pausing, he thought a bit. “To
Become stronger. To survive. Because I know the Aries kingdom will make it through the war.”

A grin spread across her face. “Good. You know what’s what then.” She came over, ruffling the shorter boy’s hair. He squeaked in surprise. “Listen, Gabe, you just stick with us and we’ll get through it.” A strange expression went over her face. [i]“But if you try to betray us, we won’t show mercy.” She let go. “Now, you are officially dismissed.” Alexis patted his shoulder. “Just relax. You’re with the Aries kingdom.”

The boy nodded in thanks, turning and going on his way. As the door closed, Alexis smiled brightly before looking down at the letter then over to the map. “Well, well, Cap. Seems like you’re not well of threats, are you? It's only been a day.” She laughed.

“Get ready then. I know some people who aren’t going to budge for hell.” With that, she took the letter and pinned it folded up on the map, right at Krónos.

Princess Alexis Conall Aries

She coaxed the horses onward, hearing its whinnies of complaint but pressing it to continue. The travel up the mountains was different than from in the desert: the altitude higher, the air thinner, and the land steeper. Her hair had made the difference more prominent, having expanded to impossible volume. She had attempted to tame it via braiding but even then her mess of hair was slipping out. Alexis pulled the reigns of the horse, causing it to come to a halt. Jumping off, Alexis looked up at the road ahead of them. A few more hours if she went on foot
Her eyes went to the horse who seemed in pain from the long ride. She sighed, turning and leading the horse on. “For god’s sake, you’re a horse, not a donkey.”

Hours later, an hour or two after the time they had set for the meeting, Alexis came up to the wide doors. She received stares and whispers from the guards there. They knew very well who she was. No one could forget that bright red hair. “You’re late.”

“I am well aware of that. Have your Prince meet me in the throne room.”

His lip curved in a sneer at the tone the other was directing him with. “Shall we take your horse?”

Alexis examined the guard before handing him the horse with a smile. The guard took the reigns, nodding at the gates to open. She went inside, following by memory her way to the throne room. ‘Oh, Capricorn, oh, Capricorn. You better still be in there.’

Prince Darcy Montel Capricorn

The copper-haired prince sat at his desk, focused on the paperwork in front of him. For the past hour, he had been planning out the estimated costs of the war, and he had been consulting with Orea about what would be the best thing to do. He realized there's a lot to think about, considering the stance he's chosen, and he would take any opportunity available to prepare his people to fullest. It, by far, beat waiting around for a Princess on tardy.

The doors to the office opened. Judging from the lack of knocking, Darcy muttered through his teeth, "What is it, Keenan?" It was apparent that the prince wasn't in the best mood, having seemingly been stood up. Orea inaudible sighed at the sight. "Have you done the work on your end?"

"Must you always ask?" Keenan walked toward his siblings, "Her Arian Highness has arrived." At this, Darcy stood immediately from his desk. "She demand that you meet her in the throne room."

"Finally," Darcy remarked. He headed toward the door while speaking, "Orea, take a break. We'll continue afterward. Keenan—"

"'Back to your duties', I got it, I got it," the younger brother scoffed.

Darcy stopped and turned to see him. "Come with me."

---

Darcy and Keenan arrived at the throne room, the latter seemingly disgruntled. Grandiose and made of stone, it was a rather traditional room, carpeted with deep maroons and decorated with tapestries and precious stones. The two emerged from the hall to the left, and the guards all bowed in his presence. The older prince, at the sight of the princess, which wasn't at all hard to miss, being the sole one in the room with hair being a beast of its own, greeted aloud.

"Princess Aries." He approached her and bowed. "Pleasure to finally be in your presence," he said, in a neutral tone. Keenan bowed behind him. Not wanting to waste any time, Darcy soon dropped the courtesies. "State your business. I understand we both have other places to be."

Before leaving the castle, Darcy understood that the trip to the Virgo Kingdom would take a very long time. Though, he didn't realize how long "a long time" really was. The journey itself took thirteen days, and much of it was spent in a carriage, or on horseback. While the young prince had no qualms with sitting still, there was only so much he could bear. His mother told him that they could stop and do some exploring through the kingdoms they had passed, including the Aries Kingdom, Crocodelle, and the Libra Kingdom, but Darcy knew that that would only delay their trip. At 8 years old, he knew the sweet taste of punctuality.

Besides, in retrospect, the trip wasn't terrible. The Arian escorts were a subject to enjoy. Winston and their mother often exchanged uncomfortable, yet amused looks on the Arians' bantering. And the three spent a lot of time covering a variety of topics, other than those of business, in fact!

"There's a sweet little princess, you know," Winston said to Darcy during their ferry ride approaching the kingdom. Darcy's eyes widened slightly at this. He wasn't aware of any children being involved in this, what he assumed, business trip. "Younger than you, too. I expect you to treat her in the most gentlemanly way possible. And a little prince, too— same age as Keen. Play with them nicely, you hear?" The 12-year-old prodigy smiled expectantly. Darcy could only stare.

---

Standing beside his mother and older brother, the latter's words echoed through Darcy's head. He didn't expect that he would do anything other than observe and demonstrate his Caprian temperament. Play? Nonsense, he was there to be a prince, not a child. He held his head up, dignified, as the heralds announced their arrival at the castle doors. He must present himself respectably, per his father's wishes.

Upon entering the grand room, the four-foot-two-inched boy shrunk slightly. Self-awareness creeped now, and he felt particular small in the grandeur of this foreign place. He gripped his sleeves and walked close to his mother. Still void of any expression, he took glances around the room, admiring its atmosphere. He bumped into his mother when they stopped walking.

"Oh, I really don't visit here often enough," Princess Lilith sighed while admiring the room, her KĂ©rata's ornaments softly chiming with the turn of her head. She looked forward toward her host with gentle smile and a curtsy. "It's a pleasure to be invited to your home, once again, Princess Virgo." On her left, Winston bowed, and on her right, Darcy bowed as well, though half a beat late, as he was entranced by the person before him. Particularly the wings.

Alexis nodded to him. “Glad we can skip the courtesies this time, Capricorn,” she addressed, not using her usual nickname of ‘Cap’. “I have become aware that you have decided to side with the King during the course of this war. I am also sure you are aware I have sided with the Queen during this course of the war.” Her face did not seem tensed but at the same time it did not seem loose. Her expression was running along that middle line.

“You should be aware we cannot continue our business as usual, Capricorn. I have retracted my troops and if they return it will be to invade, not to protect. And there will be no mercy due to prior history.” Her voice was steady as she said this, not as a threat but as a matter of fact. There would be no avoiding having her troops invade his kingdom in some point during the war. She also suspected he would not dare to invade her own country while his military were only built for defense. “This is the result of which side you chose. However
I can’t help finding it absurd that you decided to side against me.” She smiled. “Your choice, your consequences, Capricorn. This is the end of our business together.”

Darcy frowned as he looked upon the princess. "If this was all you wish to tell me, you've wasted your time. You must take me a fool for not understanding my circumstance. I assure you, I'm well aware of my choice." He looked at Keenan then turned back to Alexis. "In return, I'll be halting all trade with your kingdom, and if we're going to state the obvious, it will affect your people to quite an extent."

Keenan interjected, "And why would you concern yourself with our kingdom in the first place? Wouldn't you, of all people, be absolutely overjoyed by the thought of our people's heads, your enemies, severed by your blade?" Darcy held up a hand to stop him, and Keenan pulled back, grinding his teeth.

"At first glance, it seems as if I've made the wrong decision," Darcy folded his arms. "But I have my own reasons, Princess Aries. And while you have reason to be confident in your people, I have reason to be confident in mine." Damn him if he didn't. His older brother would shake his head in shame if he couldn't even find the obvious advantages his kingdom had. He paused and sighed. "I don't disdain you. But I've made my choice. If all you wanted from me was a justification for choosing the side that seems more likely to lose, then this would end our business, as you said."

Keenan tapped his foot impatiently. While Darcy was sincere in his words, Keenan wanted nothing more than the Arian woman to leave. He regret cutting his brother off, but he found her presence here ridiculous. Did she really look down on them that much, that she would call for a meeting, come in an hour late, then goad them on how mighty her people are? The younger prince ground his teeth. He really hated her guts.

She regarded him quietly, as if concentrating on his words and the ones she’d respond with. Alexis smiled, as if a seed of respect was sown. There was something more
Yet not. “Glad we have that cleared up, Capricorn. I wish you luck with the war.” With that she turned on her heel to go. She paused, looking over her shoulder. “Oh. One more thing.” Her eyes shifted to Kenan, examining him. “I am doing what is best for my kingdom, just as your brother is. It is nothing personal to your kingdom. It is nothing personal to my kingdom. It is for the best of our kingdoms. There is a difference.” She turned her attention to the door. “See ya, Caps. Just letting you know you bought yourself a couple weeks.”

Out Alexis went, walking out of the castle in the way she knew how. The front doors opened and the guard who had gone to her before approached her, leading her horse. She walked past him. The man, surprised, called out to her. “Hey, your horse!”

“Nah, I can walk,” she answered.

“But it’s-“

Alexis paused, turning back to him with a grin. “If it can’t keep up, I leave it behind.” She nudged to it. “Give it to your Prince. Parting gift.” She turned and waved. “Wish you well in the war.” Her hand dropped, that smile not wavering as she began her long trek back home.

‘You’ll need it.’

Darcy bowed as the Princess made her exit. "Likewise, Princess Aries." When she was out the door, Keenan let go a breath he didn't realize he was holding, absolutely exasperated. He raised his hands and curled his fingers in annoyance, grumbling and pacing back and forth.

"That nerve! If I weren't any smarter I would have strangled her with her own hair!" He grunted through gritted teeth, angrily scratching his head.

"Doubt it," Darcy simply stated before lifting his head and turning on his heel back to his office. Keenan stopped and gave an incredulous look, following after his brother.

"I'm serious! Was that all she came here for?" he huffed, trying to keep up with his brother's fast pace. "'See ya, Caps,'" he mocked with a nasally voice. "'Just letting you know you bought yourself a couple weeks.' Really? Really? She bought herself a seat on my number one hit list! How can you stand that woman? Couldn't you have just taken her prisoner and tie up that knot then and there? I'm sure she'd find our prisons to be much more hospitable than whatever gate of hell she had risen from—"

"Keenan."

"No, not even hell itself could bear such an irritable fiery personality such as hers, condemn me if she not be the Prince of darkness himself—"

"Keenan," Darcy said, more loudly, as they entered their office. Orea looked up from her book and watched her brothers come in.

"Princess of darkness, rather, or, nay! Lucifer would rather bathe in holy light than listen to her speak for ten grueling minutes—"

"Keenan!" Darcy bellowed, turning abruptly to face him. "For heaven's sake, do you hear yourself? You're spouting more nonsense than Aunt Estelle when you traveled to Deneb Algedi." Darcy pinched the bridge of his nose at the memory. He took his seat behind his desk as Keenan watched, the latter somewhat out of breath from his rambling. "I understand your frustrations. But you really need to calm down."

The younger prince slowed his breath and looked down in shame. "Sorry. I just, I don't understand either. Why did you choose the King? We don't have the Arian's ferocity nor the Cancerian's passion. Why did you make such a terrible mistake?" God forbid, if Alexis's thoughts on the Capricorn Kingdom were right, and they did end up losing, not only would it be disastrous for their people, but it would put a great wound in his pride. Of which he has much of.

Orea spoke, "It was not a mistake." Her brothers turned to her in slight surprise. "Have more faith in our brother, Keenan. Cool down your head— you've as much ferocity in your eyes as an Arian." She closed her book and spoke steadily. "We have plans, Keenan. And while it seems impossible now, we will have more allies. Even as we are currently, we have our connections, and our own resources. You don't even realize that you are underestimating your own people."

Keenan's face grew red. Orea sat still. Darcy watched their faces.

"Haha," Darcy let out. His chuckle grew into a hearty laugh. His siblings watched their older brother in confusion. "You're both going to kill me before anyone else does. Keenan, sit. We'll tell you why we're not going to lose. Listen well— I expect that after this you won't have any more of these childish tantrums."

Keenan did as he was told, and Darcy told their plans. Truth be told, the war's victor can be anyone, and the circumstances for the King seem truly dire. But Darcy didn't want to dwell on the what-ifs. If he wasted anymore time sulking, their chances would be that much more slim. Luck was unnecessary; he just needed to work hard. Let the other side think what they want to think. All the better to be underestimated.

Thirteen days of having to wait. It made Amalia's skin crawl with anticipation, so much so her mother barely knew what to do with the eldest. Her younger brother, however? Just as shy and soft-spoken as ever. While he might of only been five, the boy was truly too smart for his own good. "Amalia, I know how much you admire Princess Capricorn, but this time we'll be having a few more guests. I expect you all to be on your best behavior." Eden announced, tapping the skittish girl on the nose lightly, almost as if she was a cat.

"Mama! I know!" Amalia whined, stomping her tiny foot in a pout. She could almost hear Giovanni let out a giggle, causing Amalia to shot him a stubborn look. "It's Giovanni, you should worry about!"

"Hush little one, no need to pass along blame so quickly." The current Princess laughed, her husband scooping up Giovanni for what assumed to be the fifteenth time that day, by the way he squirmed. They didn't have much longer to wait, much to Amalia's joy. Word had it, the royals had finally reached the ferry.

The moment the tiny future princess had laid eyes on the Caprians, however, everything seemed to still. She hid behind her mother's puffy dress, almost praying that she wouldn't be spotted, or noticed. Eden just tried not to laugh at the scene she witnessed behind her. Standing at a full height of five foot five, and relatively larger wings then Amalia could of ever dreamed of getting, it'd be impossible to spot her.

But oh how Eden had to admit Princess Lilith and her children never cease to impress her. With their beauty, their grace, it all was something the Princess of Virgo greatly appreciated for what it was truly worth. A smile just lightly graced Eden's face. "Please, Princess, no need to curtsy. I would like to believe we're friends, wouldn't you? As for visiting, well, I love your company no matter how infrequent it might be, love." Though, she did strongly feel the same. Lilith definitely needed to visit more often, but she knew Lilith herself had to help run the Kingdom with the Prince. She looked towards her children and smiled.

"Winston, it's a pleasure. I see your mother and you brought your younger brother." At this point, Eden was ushering the blushing, small child from her side. Amalia couldn't help but draw her attention elsewhere, too shy and uncomfortable to open her mouth before a nudge from her mother was all that was required for a small squeak to escape.

"H-Hello." Amalia greeted, glancing up towards her mother as her wings almost quivered with her nerves. How could she? She never spoke of another boy! Especially... Her face lit up once more into a vibrant shade of red, dulling as she took a breathe and prepared to introduce herself to the older, newer face. Finally taking courage to approach the boy, she curtsied. "I'm, ah, Amalia..."

It was clear from the amusement on Eden's face, she thought this entire situation to be almost... too precious.

It had hit three days time. Another letter was received at the break of day.

“It seems you do not value your kingdoms as much as it seemed. Very well then. Have your punishment, bystander.”

And as noon hit
 The catastrophe occurred.

Reverie burned. Fire flowers destroyed, the Arian holy city decimated.

The Taurus Tierra Temple, a holy grounds to the Earth Goddess, exploded. Rubble remained in its place.

The fields of the Gemini kingdom withered. A strange, clear powder coated their soil.

Amore bombed. The city tree toppled and flamed, killing those around it.

The Leo Colosseum obliterated. Rubble left of the ancient monument.

Illuminans Flamma rotted. Carcasses lined the beaches of the Virgo kingdom.

The Gallery of Grass, the symbol of Libra pride, toppled. The building collapsed, the paintings damaged beyond repair.

Sapal’s waters blackened. Bodies rose to the oily surface.

The Hall of Warriors, paintings of Sagittarius heroes dotting the walls, destroyed. A strange device spreading an unremovable black liquid over the Hall.

The Castra Springs collapsed. The cavern filled with rubble and the deceased.

Pollux, the City of Frozen Stars, darkened. An impossible layer of snow over it and those inside.

The Aphrodo and Eras flooded. The waters carrying away those caught in it’s path.

The only kingdoms that remained unaffected:

It seemed as if the land itself was rebelling against their
 “apathy”.

Princess Alexis Conall Aries

Image

Hell hath no fury like an Aries PISSED.

Alexis, usually a loather of silence, sat in absolute quiet. The commanders around her, however, did not mind as they were screaming at the top of their lungs to be heard. Meanwhile, Alexis was concentrating on what had happened when she had heard the news

Image

In the training room, her scimitar clashed with another soldier’s before she kicked him back. Overladen with armor, he nearly tripped over. He came back up, teeth bared.

”Princess!” Gabriel called, coming into the room. ”A message from Reverie!”

“Reverie?” She asked, clashing swords and knocking the man aside once more. “Octavius, put some power into it!” Their swords clashed once again, sparks nearly flying. “There you go! Gabriel, just read the letter. Watch, it’ll be something about increasing the cost of fire flowers or getting them new sheets or something.”

Gabriel watched as the two went at each other before sighing, opening the seal and reading the letter aloud. “‘Princess Aries, Dire news from the city of Reverie. The Holy City has-‘“ He stopped, eyes widening. “
Princess. You should read this yourself.”

Alexis rolled her eyes, pivoting to have Octavius barrel right past her. “Gabrieeeel! Read it!”

He looked up at the two then the others around the training room who were somewhat listening to the message. Gabriel took a breath, staring down at the letter.

“‘The Holy City has burned.’”

Nearly every Arian in the training room froze. Alexis straightened, looking over, before laughing. She came over. “It can’t say that. The Holy City burned? This is a sick-“ Her eyes went over the letter, scanning it letter for letter. It said all that and more

‘Not a single fire flower is left from the fire. We are not sure how this had occurred. There are some casualties but there is no way of recovering the Jewel of our Kingdom. Signed, the Head Priest’

“Princess
?”

She could barely hear the voice. Alexis could feel the paper crumpling up in her hand. She could hear it falling to the ground. She could remember telling Octavius, then the whole training room, to come at her. She can remember body after body falling to the ground. She can remember holding back. She needed to not let it out. All of it.

When she had woken up, the training room had become an absolute trash heap, people having run off to escape her anger. Alexis turned her gaze over to the only one left. Gabriel, having been frozen in fear, nearly squeaked from the gaze. “Gabriel.”

“Y-Yes, Princess?”

“Gather my commanders in the war room. Now.” She stalked off, the door to the training room slamming behind her.

Image

“Shut up.” Her voice came quiet, dangerous, and unheard by those around her. Alexis’s eyes flared upward, staring at the Arians who made up her commanders. “Shut up,” she called again, her voice the same yet tenser. No one yielded.

The whole table flipped over, causing the commanders to silence and look over at the head. Alexis stood, eyes flaring dangerously. “Did I not say. SHUT. UP? All of you, sit your asses down, THIS INSTANT!” The commanders sat down, not wanting their Princess to grow angry
Or at least, angrier. She looked over all of them, anger flaring down with the silence.

“Listen here, all of you,” she began. “Our Holy City has been bombed. I now consider this an all out war. No mercy is to be given to any of our enemies from here on out.”

“What about the Capricorn?” A woman brought up. “They-“

“They will beg for mercy,” she answered, tone not one to be challenged. “Are there any reports on who did this?”

“None, Princess.”

“Find something out. I want to know who this person is, who sent them, and how soon I can get their leader’s head on a silver platter.” Alexis turned to a messenger from the Queen who had been waiting in the corner. “What?”

“The Queen sends supplies and her Goodwill for support,” the messenger answered. “Her Highness also calls for her allies to come to the Dominion to discuss matters-"

“Tell her fuck no,” Alexis said, walking through the overturned papers and on the table. “We don’t want her pity. We refuse it. Inform her I shall arrive tomorrow after I settle my kingdom matters. In the mean time, let her do her Queen thing. I still have my own kingdom to run.” With that, she left the room, the commanders hurrying after her to receive their orders.

Prince Darcy Montel Capricorn

Three days. So much had been done in those three days. The Kingdom's borders were reinforced, garrisons formulated defensive and offensive operations, and necessary resources were secured. The old generation of royals were contacted, connections were being made. Not a single hour was spared, not a minute of the day was not dedicated to preparation. And yet, tragedy still struck.

"Search the Springs for any survivors," Darcy ordered. "Aid the injured. Then resume your responsibilities. There's no helping the Spring anytime soon." The messenger bowed and left the Prince's presence in urgency, heading toward the Dabih Mountain. Darcy knew that his letter would be futile. He knew that disaster would strike. But how in the stars' glory would he have known that it would occur within their walls.

It was early afternoon, now. News of the collapse of the Castra Springs were known only by the inhabitants of Dabih Mountain and Prince Darcy. He was briskly walking through the castle halls, looking for his brother. He needed to send a message to his allies— it's time to convene. He hasn't heard word from the King, as of yet, and he has little idea as to what the Kingdom of Pisces is doing. Disaster had struck all of the kingdom's, he assumed. But the letter from that morning. And the one from three days prior. The situation just doesn't make sense. If, perhaps, neither the Queen not King's kingdoms have been touched, there is definitely a third party interfering with the continent.

Apathy, it said. Darcy gritted his teeth. What a joke.

As the Prince turned a corner, he abruptly halted to avoid crashing into the person before him. Darcy breathed, "Keenan—"

"I heard. I stopped the messenger on his way out," Keenan said. Darcy opened his mouth to speak, but Keenan put his hand up. "Wait! Before you speak, I've some news. The Queen sent us some aid," Darcy's brow lifted, "and Pisces requested that we meet with them." The older Prince stared at his brother.

"Pisces has?"

"Yes."

Darcy blinked, in astonishment. He hadn't expected any response from them would come anytime soon. The timing couldn't have been anymore convenient. He settled back into his stern composure and replied, "I will meet with them, then. Accept the Queen's aid, but check for any forms of sabotage. I will return after no more than four days." He started to walk off to prepare for departure, but Keenan grabbed his arm.

"Wait, you're going today?" He asked, with an incredulous expression. Darcy looked at him as if he had asked a stupid question.

"There's no time to lose. I was going to request that I meet them, anyway," He replied.

Keenan almost laughed. "Brother, I love you, but I think you're forgetting what's going on out there. And, although I have complete faith in your abilities, you're not exactly adept enough to defend yourself in case of a skilled ambush."

Darcy's brow twitched, slightly offended. "I appreciate your concern, baby brother, but I never said I was going alone." Keenan's eyes widened. "I'm going with Orea."

---

The ship was approaching the Pisces's Kingdom, now. After a brief and efficient time of preparation, Darcy, Orea, and a small party of guards and scholars boarded a cargo ship. There was little time left for finding a crew to bring the group down to Pisces in only a day, and Darcy knew how proficient those cargo ships were. They were on their way to the Virian Kingdom, so they were on their way regardless. For this, he was grateful for his relationship with Amalia and her kingdom. Her medicines contributed to much of the aid given to the injured at Castra Springs. He knew that it was unlikely they were on the same side, but he hoped that their disaster wasn't too harrowing.

"Brother," Orea spoke. "We've arrived."

Darcy woke from his thoughts and looked at his sister, then to the kingdom. He caught his breath. He's visited before, but the relaxed air of the kingdom was replaced with panic. It seems that the disaster wasn't well received by the people.

Darcy thanked the crewmembers and bid them on their way. He then turned toward the direction of the castle. "It'll be a rather long walk, Orea." He turned to look at his sister, but only saw empty space. He looked around and found her, who was talking to a coachman. He sighed, impressed.

It was evening, and the party arrived at the castle. Darcy looked to his group and approached the entrance. He didn't know what to expect, but his determination never wavered. It was about time he met with the Princess.

Having been entranced by the Virian princess's wings, Darcy only noticed the smaller princess when she was nudged toward him. The boy stared at the little girl's wings and watched her approach him. He observed her every move, and took brief note of the nuances in her face. Something about her vibrant red pallor made the young Prince's face warm slightly in return. His hair raised upon hearing her voice, which sounded like wind chimes to his ears.

He took a step toward her and bowed. "I am Prince Darcy, second in line to the Caprian throne." Winston stifled his laughter. Princess Lilith exchanged hearty glances with Princess Eden. When Darcy lifted his head, and his dark eyes rested on the crystalline ones before him. "Pleasure to finally meet you, Princess Amalia."

Princess Lilith giggled. "Oh, Eden, if I didn't at least greet you formally, I'm afraid the little one wouldn't forgive me. He's much like his father, and maybe even more serious than he." Darcy looked up at his mother, confused at her demeanor. She rarely laughed like that in front of business officials. Winston could clearly tell that his younger brother was receiving mixed vibes.

"Well, I believe we have much to discuss," Princess Capricorn began. "Winston shall join us— he's looking forward to meeting your esteemed officials, once again." Darcy looked at his mother expectantly. "And you, my dear, will stay with Princess Amalia." His faced dropped. Before he could protest, Lilith bid Eden to proceed with their talks and assured Darcy he's in good hands. Winston sent a wink before walking off.

Darcy felt his blood thinning. He expected that he would learn some things about the Kingdom. Instead, he's stuck with a child. He turned to look at the Princess, a little downhearted. He, simply put, wasn't the greatest with other kids. But, this was a task given to him, and so it he must. The first obstacle is, how should he approach the figure before him. What should he say? He found himself gently tugging his hair, suddenly nervous. He desperately looked for a topic. "Do..." He started. "Does everyone in your family have wings?"

W-Wait, they were leaving?! Already?! They could of at least helped them by suggesting something to do...! Fiddle sticks, before she could even open her mouth, all three of the older parties were walking away, and off to go discuss, well, whatever they talked about.

Her mother normally just made her go explore outside somewhere to keep busy.

Eyes widening briefly as she watched the older boy tug his hair, shifting in her stance. "A-Um, no... Just my aunt, a cousin, my mom, and I..." Gosh diddly darn it! She could of tried to spin that off into something completely different, at least! Her face reddened once more as her wings ruffled and drooped, ever so slightly as her nerves got to her. Even with such grace, she'd never understand how her mother constantly had something to say.

But, maybe it was just her being more or less shy of such a cute little boy? Even now, she could hear her mother's laughter and her embarrassing comments that would surely make her crawl up and die at supper! "Your h-hair... it's a very pretty color." That soft, quiet little voice nearly squeaked.

True, she had never been with a child who was so close to her own age, even if they were a few years older, but she never got the chance to either. Her mother didn't exactly care for most business associates like how she cared for Princess Lilith so deeply. She even had made comments about naming her next child after the woman. It was odd, how her mother had gotten so attached.

"I... can show you around the island.. I-If you want, that is!" It was the least she could do. This island was possibly one of the more safer ones, considering it's size. Everyone looked out for each other, especially for the children. A harmless stroll to the island's more favorable locations wouldn't be so bad, as long as they made it back in time before their mothers worried. They at least had four or so more hours before the sun began to set, if he chose to go with her.

Princess Alexis Conall Aries

Alexis glanced over at Theon, grinning proudly. ”Nice to see you, too,” she greeted. ’Mr. Crab a la extra salt comes to see his lovely deity. Great to see the puppy follows his mistress’s order so well.’ Then again, she did come first. Nope! Don’t think, listen. Her eyes returned to the Queen, taking in her words with precision. Her eyes narrowed as the Queen mentioned the letter, anger seeping through her features for a moment before returning to the usual smiling indifference she usually had. Nevertheless, hearing Zari had sent a letter out specifically asking for information on the perpetrator surprised her. Probably would have happened while was on the air ship
But for her friend to offer a discount? There was something the other was plotting, that’s for sure.

Then, hearing the information that Virgo had joined them. That young lady? Would she be able to handle the course of the war? Well, Alexis had troops to spare and - more specifically- commanders willing to train. Hopefully, that would put them at an advantage. Just more people to train! But the comments on trust hit her the most. The Queen was stern and determined in her resolve. True pride!

Her smile reached from ear to ear as the Queen rose and walked between her and Cancer. Finally, someone who would willingly walk and talk! Alexis nodded, turning on her heel and cringing for a moment at the suddenness she pivoted with, causing her bandaged arm to hit against her side. She grinned once more, walking beside the Queen.

"Your Highness," Alexis began, "As of now, the Aries kingdom is determined to stay with your side. Any consequence that happens at the end of this war, to you or Cancer, I shall take with you. An Arian does not go back on her word. So don't think you'll be getting rid of me that easily." That said, she used her free hand and put it in a fist, placing it on her chest. A grin widened, determined. There was nothing worse than a person who couldn't make up their mind, she believed. One had to pick a place, barrel through it, then take whatever came at the other end. Her duty to side with the Queen, to support her as she attempted to overthrow the King- no, TO overthrow the King, was a personal interpretation on Aries law. If the Queen won, she deserved it. If the Queen lost, she deserved it. But the Aries kingdom would stay by her side nonetheless.

Her arm fell and she turned her eyes forward to concentrate on ideas to share with the Queen. "First order of business would be Virgo and her joining our side. I have not met her personally but I am well aware her military could use a boost. When she comes over here. I'll properly ask to send over Aries commanders to help train their military. Currently, we are becoming outnumbered so out quality must exceed their quantity." Alexis glanced over at Cancer. "I would also advise sending over Cancer commanders to train their navy. Despite my strong military expertise, I know nothing of water battles." Her eyes returned to the Queen. "I also advise sending troops down there to help defend her. She, as well as I, are surrounded by allies to the King."

As they walked, her injured arm began to shake again. Alexis glanced over to it, shaking her head as if to say, 'weak', before continuing. "Now, the letters. Sorry to rat out my friend, but it's war. Zari's planning something. She never gives discounts- ever. I don't know what it is yet but if we do end up giving her information and money to join our side, we have to be wary. As for this third side, we'll just crush them when they show up. But from my own view, I could suspect the King could be hiding something. Right now, I just want to know where to mobilize and when."

Alexis looked over at Theon. "Cancer, will you assist me in attacking the Capricorn kingdom? Not any time soon as we should concentrate on increasing our forces with Virgo as well as attempting to sway the neutral countries to our side. My army, having been protectors of Capricorn, are well aware of the terrain. It is mostly defensive but to attack it to both sides would be wise." Her eyes returned to her Majesty, who technically was the one they were under whether she wanted it or not. The Queen had called them to arms and she was their commander. "Your Highness, I believe strongly this is the proper course of action. That we should also attempt to sway the neutrals to our side, even slightly. What is your take on it?"{

"Commander! Isn't Libra territory?"

Draco rolled her eyes as the men spoke, looking back to make sure they were all moving. "Last I checked, that's what it said on the goddamn map! You prefer we march straight through Crocodelle?" Though, that did not end the tenseness the men had. They were on unfamiliar terrain, full of foliage and breezes, making subtle sounds beneath ones breath. It was too calm, all too calm. It only intensified the knowledge that the kingdom they were walking through was their enemy. Draco looked back at her soldiers after a while of traveling through, frowning. "Stay on your guard, all of you! You are not to attack any Libras unless they strike first! We're just passing through!"

That did not disperse the panic that slightly rose in the Aries soldiers hearts. Draco lead them onward once more, sword in hand as she lead them. They had been marching on foot for hours but they could not rest. Not here. A crash came from behind and Draco swirled around. "Idiots! Who told you to stop! Get back on your feet! You call yourself Arians when you can't even march properly?!?" All the while, Draco was blaming herself. They should have taken more stops in the Sagittarius kingdom, more rest time. Possibly more supplies. Though, the soldiers were exhausted. They couldn't just stop in the enemy kingdom!

Draco searched the eyes of her men and looked to the men who had fallen. It'd just take longer if they went on. But they were in the border between the Libra kingdom and Crocodelle! She clenched her jaw. The Princess would kill her if this was the wrong decision. "Everyone, halt! We rest here for an hour before moving on. Those who are able, you're taking guard. I don't care how much I have to whoop your sorry asses." The men fell to sit, sighing in relief. Draco weaved through the ranks, picking out soldiers decent for guard duty. "No one is allowed to leave this area! Keep your weapons close in case the Librans decide to attack!" This was such a bad fucking decision.

The Piscin Council is once again having a meeting. Wenall sits in her chair up front, looking bored, while the other 5 argue about new issues. Clean up in the city of Delota was nearly complete, but the civilian farmers and ranchers affected by the floods were upset. The king sent troops and supplies to help his ally kingdoms; the council decided to send must of the supplies and soldiers to the Piscin Navy, since they believe Cancer to be the most immediate threat. They began to discuss what to do if the potential of Cancer attacking greatens, when the Prince of Capricorn arrives at the castle.

Upon entering the castle, Prince Darcy and his people were met by a servant, ”Prince Capricorn,” the servant bows, ”Madam Milla Rosinchester told us to keep a look out for you. Princess Wenall Pieces is meeting with the Piscin Council about important issues to the kingdom, but the Council would surely want to speak with you. This way sir.” The servant leads the Capricorns to the council room.

The arguing from the council can be heard from outside the room. ”As soon as we see either Cancer or Aries giving aid to Virgo’s military we must send them a warning. Pieces will not be messed with!” Madam Salvar argues.

”We don’t have the men to attack Virgo, even with the King’s help. We need to wait and gather our allies. I thought you would understand that, Salvar.” Sir Devall replies.

”I didn’t say we should attack Virgo. But we cannot risk them attacking us first. And we cannot rely on our allies to come and save us if we get into trouble.”

Wenall then speaks, ”Then what do you suppose we do?”

The servant opens the door to the room, ”My Lords and Ladies, Prince Capricorn has arrived.”

”What?! Really?! Now!”

”Aha! Our ally! We should see what he has to say. Maybe he has an idea of what to do about these troubles.”

”Really?!
 Uhh
 Let him in I guess
”

Princess Alexis Conall Aries

'Wow, Virgo got here quickly.' The redhead shifted her gaze to spot the newcomer. She raised a brow when Cancer called her, about to call him out herself were it not the fact the Queen did so first. Alexis grinned, almost laughing at the little puppy getting scolded by his master. She waved eccentrically over to Virgo, waving her over. "Hiya, Virgo! Welcome to the team!” She laughed. Alexis glanced over at Cancer, grinning as she gave a playful punch to his arm. “Cancer, you gotta lighten up. A team’s a team and if we got another member, great!”

Then again, she wouldn’t disagree entirely with Cancer. Virgo fit the type of girl who would sit at home and sew little aprons or hair ties. She didn’t seem like the type able to hold up a sword let alone be able to lead a country in war. It was just a wonder what state her army could have been in. Then again, Virgo had her, Cancer, and the Queen. They had resources. They had strong militaries. Virgo would grow one way or another and Alexis would make sure she would. If anything, Virgo almost reminded her of...

Alexis shook her head and went over to the smaller Princess, patting her shoulder a little roughly. “Don’t worry, Cancer’s not gonna hurt a hair on your head.” Not when the Queen’s here, anyway. She gave a small thumbs up. “We’re your allies now. You gotta watch our backs so we’ll watch yours.” Alexis pulled away, standing next to Virgo and facing the Queen and Cancer. “That said, right now we’re trying to find a way to distribute the troops. I must report that I have sent troops to the Gemini kingdom for extra food. I’ll be sure to share that with the Cancer and Virgo kingdoms if need be. Possibly I could convince her to join our side but as for now, Gemini is declared as neutral.”

She held her hands behind her, thinking a bit. “Your Highness?” The Aries addressed the Queen, looking over to face her. “Possibly, is there a conference room where we could possibly organize our actions? If we have a place to visualize how to position our troops, it’d be better then walking around and talking about it.” It was nice to be able to walk and talk but when discussing war plans Alexis found it easier to visualize instead of oralize. Speaking off
She turned to Virgo. “Just to add on, in a couple weeks we plan on attacking the Capricorn kingdom. Right now we’ll work on getting kingdoms on our side. What’d ya think?”

Things did not seem to get any better. Perhaps if he could get all of his allies together and discuss a means with them together, they could properly organize a means of reconstruction and protection of all the kingdoms. Working separately would never work. However, if he could get them in person and get them to properly work together, they could come to a conclusion and perhaps discuss a means of advancement for this war.

"It seems that there is no avoiding it." He said before sighing. He then called for Edgeworth. As the older male began to approach him, he smiled. "Edgeworth. Please send a carrier to all our allies. We will arrange a meeting here in Crocodelle. Tell them it is urgent and that they need to appear as soon as possible."

The older male nodded and bowed respectfully before quickly running with the letters. He began to take out eagles and tie the notes gently around their legs. One each specializing in a journey to a specific kingdom.

"Please be careful." Edgeworth said as he began to release the Eagles into the sky. Each began to fly off quickly to different directions heading to an allies kingdom.

Prince Darcy Montel Capricorn

Stepping into the room, Darcy, Orea and his attendants all bowed in such a flawless way, it almost seemed rehearsed. "Thank you for allowing me to join this conference, Princess Pisces," the prince said. Upon raising his head, he eyed the pink-haired Princess and observed her posture. If his presence had so surprised her, he assumed that perhaps she hadn't been very assuming the past hour. "I am Prince Darcy Montel Capricorn. This is the first we've ever met, regrettably." He was a little surprised himself, upon seeing her. He'd expected someone younger, someone far less experienced, according to the reports on the kingdom. Yet, despite her current demeanor, he sensed that laziness wasn't exactly the cause of turmoil.

A servant took the prince and princess to their seats. Darcy removed his coat and spoke as he sat. "I apologize for interrupting the meeting. It was irresponsible of me to withhold a reply to your letter, but I wanted to meet as soon as possible. From general knowledge, only immense preparation can determine the tides of this war." He folded his hands and looked at the the surrounding faces, sensing the discord in the room. "Could someone please kindly fill me in on what has been discussed so far?"

After listening patiently to what the council had to say, Darcy was well settled into the room. He waited a moment before speaking, organizing his thoughts. A couple councilmen tapped their feet, waiting direly for the prince to speak. Before one could press him on, he began, "Judging from the nature of the enemy kingdoms, they are most likely to attack first. The Pisces kingdom seems to be the easiest target, and frankly, for several reason, that is true. If they so choose to attack Pisces first, it would be a predominantly naval battle, against both Cancer and Virgo." He paused and watched Wenall's face as he spoke, eyes unwavering. "But, because Pisces seems the obvious choice, they are bound to find another target. If they were complete idiots, and they aren't, but suppose they were, they would expect us to completely fortify the Pisces kingdom and prepare for battle there, leaving the other allies defenseless."

A messenger entered the room at that moment, announcing that Libra and Scorpio have sided with the King. Darcy's eyes never left that of Wenall. As he spoke, he was also gauging her. Ironically, he knew more of the enemy kingdoms than that of his own ally. But upon hearing the addition of new allies, he almost smiled.

Darcy sat forward, intending to keep everyone in the room engaged. After the room quelled their murmurs, he continued. "With that, Pisces is no longer as vulnerable. The King's allies are in control of the east. Even with Aries's and, if they so choose the Queen's side or show hostility, Sagittarius's competency, they are surrounded. Their mobility is limited. For your kingdom, Princess Pisces, I believe that the Arians will pose less of a threat than it seems. My people shoulder that worry, but I assure you, we're prepared for that matter." He closed his eyes, envisioning the land of High. "The best course of action I see for the Piscins is to form a naval border on the south, to impede any route Cancer or Virgo may take." Darcy's finger twitches slightly at the mention of Virgo. "Stop all warships, but do not engage in battle with any neutral boats, including trading ferries. Simply turn them away, peacefully." It's better this way. "Work in conjunction with Libra to secure borders against Virgo and Sagittarius. The latter should not be taken for granted for their neutrality— risks cannot be made."

Darcy paused, allowing for the council to talk amongst themselves. "Princess Wenall, the final call is yours. I simply gave what I believe would be the best course of action, though I highly suggest we carry this out." He leaned back in his seat, an almost disappointed look on his face. Orea continued to sit quietly. "I've no presentable plan on the offense, as of yet, though I have an idea. For that, it's impeccable that we meet with the others. And I have plans for negotiating with my surrounding neutral kingdoms. But, beside that, I've talked for far too long. Are there any questions or objections to anything that I have said?"

----

Back in the Capricorn Kingdom, a disgruntled redhead grumbled as he strode across the halls of the castle. Prince Keenan had been walking back and forth, discussing this and that in place of his dear brother. He won't admit he felt a bit offended for having his sister accompany him instead of himself, but he does reconcile with the fact that he is most relied on for taking over the Kingdom while the crowned Prince is gone. Yet it is that very fact in its nature that boils his Caprian blood.

At this moment in time, Keenan was reaching the throne room, expecting to meet his grandfather, of whom owns the moniker of "Iron Goat." Darcy was supposed to discuss plans with the old man, but unfortunately, it's up to the third son to entertain the warmonger. Keenan's grumbling was interrupted by a messenger, but he continued to walk, unwilling to waste any second.

"Oh, Prince Keenan, I have some terrible news..." The man began. "The prince of— Prince Keenan?" The poor messenger moved his legs, trying to keep up with the young man. "Sire, I've been trying to tell His Highness this for quite sometime now—"

"I've a very important guest waiting, I'm sure you are aware?" Keenan spoke hastily, his pace quickening. "I'm sure whatever this news is can wait until next time."

"I-I understand, Prince Keenan, but I've been told to share the news 'next time' for the last week, and I say, this is quite important—"

"Prince Keenan, urgent news from the King!" Another messenger cried upon seeing the flash of orange hair. She fell into step with the two, much to the annoyance of the prince.

"Urgent news... my grandfather's presence is currently much more of an urgent matter, now leave me be!" Keenan snarled, thrusting the doors to the throne room open. He trudged further in, looking for the former prince. "Where is that geezer, anyway?"

"Prince Keenan, really, I must say this now lest I pass before even getting to do so—"

"Prince Keenan, I implore that you hear of this at this moment!"

Keenan curled his fingers and scratched his head before bringing them down in an exasperated matter. He turned abruptly to the two messengers. "WHAT—" he shouted, but then clenched his teeth, "what is it?"

The man began, "Oh thank goodness, I thought I'd never—"

"The King is summoning all allies to meet with him!" The lady interjected. "The letter came by just today."

Keenan huffed, then shook his head, still steaming. "I can't leave the kingdom. Prince Darcy is sure to hear of that while he is with Pisces." His eyes shot to the man, who was somewhat trembling from Keenan's tone. He continued with gritted teeth. "And you?"

"Er, Prince Aurelius Scorpio is dead, sire," he meekly stated. Keenan was still breathing heavily, but then his face grew ghastly cold.

"What did you—"

The throne room's doors burst open. A servant with an uncomfortable expression held them, revealing an elderly man with a cane and an impressive beard. He smiled wide and his cracked voice boomed within the room. "It's GREAT to be back!" Winston XI cackled in triumph.

Keenan turned dead-eyed at the sight. Fantastic.
