XXXXSurrounded by the books she adored, a little girl, no more than ten with the same color as that of the priceless and precious symbol of the Heavenly Throne, sat in proper silence. Her eyes granted a color with just a shade darker of her hair were reflecting the written word of a tome in relation to the legends amassed by the Cosmos. She was curious since today was the Sacred Sky Festival. It commemorates the birth of the Dominion of Cieux under the exclusive reign of the Queen of Stars, a title passed down across the generations. Beyond that, the one thing which really tickled her fancy was the Tree of Grace. The festival also alludes to its origins and its powerful hold as the source of all life, it is actually the main point of the festivity.

The celebration is a week-long event that leads to the Luminous Lighting of the Tree, something that only happens every one hundred years and at a specified time which only lasts for but a minute. That is why it is a grandiose celebration in which all kind manner of folks are allowed entry to the Dominion and all Kingdoms are gathered for a banquet held exactly on the last day of the festival where the Tree of Grace would bloom in a magical and brilliant light. It was certainly a beautiful sight, but for her she must remain within the walls of this chamber. It has been a tradition for the heiress to be in isolation as to hone her skills and needed attributes until it was time to receive the crown.

She was not bothered by the fact she could not join in the festival. Her isolation was a common thing for her since it has been what she had been welcomed to ever since she had gained her own sense of self. That is why being alone in this large and still room did not afflict her with the notion of loneliness or the stab of envy. She was understanding and calm. After all, her duty comes first and she must not disappoint her mentors and also to make her predecessor proud of her, in a sense that there would be no doubt when she becomes Queen. That is why she satisfied herself by going to the library, located inside the chamber, where she plunged herself into the sea of books that allows her passage to the world she has yet to know.

Until she could experience the one outside the doors of this chamber, she had chosen to learn about it as much as possible for now. In that light, she would not be ignorant and make a fool of herself when the time comes. She then continued with her reading as she turned the page of the book in front of her. Honestly, she was enjoying herself being left by herself in order to read the books here in peace. Usually, she would be instructed to do many things and be in different lessons where she has little time for the things she wants to do. That is why this was a blessing in her opinion, but, she did not expect that her cherished silence would soon be broken with just a push of the door, the entrance to the chamber.

It had been the first time Eugene had traveled to such a large kingdom very similar to his own. When he would be able to accompany his parents on travels, it was mostly for business. Tonight however, was a celebration and there was nothing in the world that Eugene loved more than fun. He hummed happily listening to the lovely music being played as the banquet took place. His feet, barely even able to touch the floor from the lovely chair he sat in, swung back and forth. He looked over seeing his mother and father, royals of Crocodelle, laughing and chatting with the other adults. It made him a bit happy to see that.

He looked onto the table as he finally spotted it. Desserts! Perfect. He quickly reached over grabbing whatever he could get his hands on and stuffing it into the small bag he had along with him. Inside were a few toys and his favorite book in the world. Just in case he got bored. He smiled happily stuffing his face with delicate cake and getting a bit on his face. He paused as his mother turned to him and smiled. Of course, that smile faded when she took a napkin and began to wipe his face.

"Moom~!"

She laughed before hearing the giggles of other children at the end of the table.

"Eugene, why don't you run along with your friends? Remember to be safe ok?"

Eugene smiled as he nodded and quickly jumped out of his chair and ran to catch up with them. The other princes' and princess' were all quite familiar with Eugene. In fact, they all knew him. He was quite popular. Not for his fathers status or for his riches; but for his fun loving attitude and jokes.

"Eugene!" "Hey Eugene can you keep a secret!"

He paused. "Huh? A secret?" He smiled. "Yeah!"

One of the princes' stood forward and smiled. "We hear there is a super scary ghost inside this kingdom. Were gonna go and look around and see if we can find it!

Something in Eugene's naive brain clicked. Ghost hunting! How exciting! He nodded happily. "Yeah! Let's go!"

The group of children looked towards the adults. They were not paying attention what so ever. Perfect. They then began to sn sneak their way through the large door and into the main palace. They walked around aimlessly looking at the impressive interior. Eventually they began to walk past an odd door that seemed to catch Eugene's eye. He glared lightly. It was almost as if... The door was calling to him. He looked towards the group and smiled innocently.

"Hey I'm going to head back. I'll see you guys later."

As expected, they believed it. Perfect. He inched towards the door and examined it before pushing with all his might. The thing was heavy. He grunted and pushed feeling it move until it was open.

"Yes I did -IT!"

Eugene cried out as he fell onto the floor of the chamber.

XXXXHer eyes traveled to the door of the library. She heard something. It made her wonder if it were her mentors or the guards. The only problem, she believed it to be a sound of a child. It is true that she did not have any experience being around people as the same or near her age, but she could tell from that timbre that it was not a voice of an adult. She had been around them most of her life at this point, so she should know. She closed her book and left it neatly on the table. She must ascertain herself to what or who had come inside the chamber, a place that had been sealed from many except of her mentors and selected group of guards.

She stood from her chair and made her way out of the library. She soon found herself weaving through the hallway. Her destination was already set in her mind. Based on how she had heard the noise, it was due to it being near the library. That is why she was certain that it came from the main entrance, the foyer. It was also a bit odd to hear such a discord at this hour, since she had concluded that the banquet should be at full swing. She soon reached the foyer as her eyes landed on a presence, completely unknown to her. It was a... boy. There was no way that this person had been granted permission, that much is certain considering his position on the smooth marble floor.

"Whoever you might be. You are not permitted here." She announced her presence with that soft yet calm voice of hers. She was quite a sight to behold, even at a young age. She is a beauty and an elegance that simply becomes her. Her hair was pulled into a low ponytail with a flower ribbon to make it so as it draped over her shoulder. She also wore a white dress with a black ribbon as its accent. It fitted her, making it appear as if the dress was solely created for her. This pristine appearance was also shown on her face which did not show any untoward expression, it was actually lacking anything. "You must leave at once." She spoke again, not interested in the least of knowing who he is. Her thoughts were mainly on the possibility of causing a national incident.

His presence within the palace indicated that he is from a ruling family of the 12 Kingdoms. This intrusion of his can be seen as unbecoming of a royal as he was not respecting the rules of the Dominion. She was certain that all must be enjoying themselves at the banquet. It would not be proper to disrupt that.

Eugene groaned slightly and rubbed his head. That, well, was quite embarrassing. He sat up and huffed slightly dusting off his clothes before hearing a voice. He looked up expecting a adult, but what he saw was beyond what he thought. It was a girl. From the looks of her attire, a royal for sure. Was she a princess? No, if she were, he would have seen her. Right? She wasn't at the party that's for sure.He gasped

"A-Are you the ghost!?"

He said while quickly standing and pointing lightly. "Your not going to eat me or kill me are you?!"

He then blinked blankly before examining her. She couldn't be a ghost. She was too pretty to be a ghost. He approached her slowly ignoring her instruction to leave. Only a few inches away now. He looked at her slightly before giving a wide and cheerful smile and handing her his hand.

"Hi! I'm Eugene! I don't know who you are but let's be friends mystery ghost girl."

He laughed a bit under his breath hoping she would shake his hand.

"What are you doing all in here by yourself. Ya know there's a party going on outside right? Do you wanna come play with me and my friends? Were always happy to meet new faces! Yep!"

The boy was all too friendly. It was rare that someone would turn down his kindness and even if they did, it wouldn't stop his pursuing. He was devoted to meeting new faces. He would be king some day and it was best to start knowing all he could now.

XXXXGhost? Are there such rumors spreading about it within the palace? It was a pointless one at that. She also considered the aptitude of the boy before her. Did she resembled that of an undead entity? It is a given that she does wear white at the moment, but ghosts do not tend to tell anyone to leave. They prefer to terrorize them until they wanted to. He even added a question about eating or killing him. It seemed that it would be useless conversing with this person, but he was probably royalty and she could not rudely dismiss the boy, alas she wanted a national incident, which she does not.

It was a good thing that the boy seemed to have regained his proper sense and concluded she was not a ghost from the beginning. This lead for him to close the rather large space between them. He was examining her as if she was an object that he had never seen. That was not an absurd idea since, she had been isolated and hidden from the world until the coronation, but she was not an odd species to be looked in the way he does. Still, her face remained pristine and unabashed by any emotions. It was not the same with him as he soon broke into a bright smile and offering his hand for a gesture she had concluded as a handshake.

She looked at the hand and then back at him, in what could be described as gracefully stiff. "I am well aware of where I am and what is happening in the Dominion far more than you do, apparently." She stated in an eloquent manner which gave her a mature demeanor even when she was a child like him. She walked passed him and did not shake his hand, instead she went towards the door which opened automatically. "You should take your leave now. I would excuse your ignorance of this place, in light of the festival." She stated with her back facing him as she stood before the opened doors, but did not take another step.

"Return to your friends at once, Eugene." This time she finally looked at him by turning around. "If the guards or council sees you, this would not simply end as a mere scolding. I do not want to mar the festive mood with something like this." She stated in a manner that depicted that she was not a simple individual and apparently held a position within the Dominion, than a simple noble.

Eugene paused as she walked past him avoiding his handshake. He shrugged slightly and smiled deciding not to think much of it. Maybe she was shy? He hadn't seen her before so maybe she didn't have too many friends. Well with her "kindness" he was positive she didn't have any friends. He folded his arms behind his back and whistled lightly ignoring her words and instruction to leave. Instead, he began to walk and look around taking note of the strange place the girl stayed in. Nothing but books. Was this some sort of torture chamber or something?

"Woah! So all you ever so is read? Don't you have any toys or trinkets?" He asked while picking up one of the books.

He read the title immediately loosing interest. He shrugged and placed the book down before looking around the piles upon piles of printed knowledge. There had to be a story book or fairytale somewhere in this place, right?

"Hey hey! Where do you keep the story books! Like Captain Roger's! Have you read that one? It's pretty good ya know. I won't spoil it for ya but you gotta check it out! Oh! Or Detective Liming and The Mystery of The Disappearing Hatrack! That one's pretty funny. The illustrations are cool to! Boy I wish I knew how to draw like that."

He continued on with his ramblings as he looked through the books. Nothing at all caught his interest.

"Hey... Have you read ALL of these books?" He said while blinking blankly.

XXXXThis boy was the pinnacle of admonishment. She wondered if he was not properly tutored or groomed. He lacked decency and even common sense from the looks of it. All he speaks are meaningless context and even went as far as to criticize. Is it possible that she had made a wrong conclusion as him hailing from one of the royal families? If that was the case the palace's security must be put into question and be restructured due to allowing any manner of people entering, especially within the inner sanctum where this Chamber is located that even the Queen herself is forbidden to enter anymore.

"Do not say I did not warn you." She ignored his existence like how he ignores her words as she believed that his idiocy might be contagious. It was the same with his questions that she does not see any benefit in answering. She instead walked towards a small floating globe on a nearby pedestal. Her hand placed on top of it as it glowed and after a while a voice permitted through the foyer. "My princess is there something that I may be of service to you?" This was communication device that allows her to be linked to her designated servants, guards, and the council if required.

"There is an intruder present, a boy named Eugene inside the Chamber." Her words were like electricity as it elicited "What!? That's never been heard of! How could that be!? I shall send the guards immediately, princess! Until then, please ceased any further interactions." She was well-aware of what she must do at this point, but before ending the communication, she made a valid point that should be addressed that this event shall not happen again. "I shall do what is must, however, I suggest that the guards that should be here guarding the Chamber, be prompted with proper punishment for lax in their duties. That is unbecoming."

"Of course, princess at once." She then ended the conversation from that point as she removed her hand and walked passed Eugene. Her face did not change from its indifferent expression. There was another door at the end of the hallway where she walked towards. The door opened at her proximity. There were also quite an amount of hurrying footsteps nearing the main entrance. "A reminder if you are a prince. That carefree persona of yours will bring people harm rather than good. Not all will share your whims and just because you smile, it does not mean anyone else would."

She ended it at that and entered the opened doors before her as it instantly closed behind her. Even at the end, she did not mention her name or even showed any form emotion towards Eugene. She believed that it would be their last meeting, but fate had it. that was not so. The guards had also entered the Chamber and found the boy completely in a panic and disbelief of his presence here. "Hey! Identify yourself!"

Eugene paused hearing her communicating with a strange globe. He sighed and rubbed his neck slightly. "Sheesh." He said before sighing. He then smiled wildly as he listened to her mentions of him being a prince and that he should do this and that and what not. "Hmph.

He may not have known much about her but it was obvious that she didn't know much about him. He quickly moved his way behind a gathering of books beginning to develop a plan to get out of this with as little yelling from his parents as possible. He smirked slightly listening to the voice of the guards. There were less numbers than he believed there would be. From the looks of it 2 or 3. No sweat at all. He began to observe his surroundings gasped looking towards the larger books placed above the shelves.

"Perfect. If I can get those to fall and knock them out, I can drag them outside and make them think they dreamed it all or something. Ohhh Eugene your a genius!"

He truly had his father to thank for his plan thinking. He quickly moved behind the shelf and rammed against it causing the large piles of books to fall and leaving his opponents unconscious. He laughed and high five'd himself before looking around.

"Hm... Why she really must not like people... Or maybe it's just me? I don't know. Girls are weird."

He said before nudging her guards with his foot.

"Even her goons are weird..."

He then smiled and walked to the desk in the chamber. A friendly parting before he left would maybe clear the air. He opened his bag and took out his favorite book before opening it and beginning to write.

"Rough start huh? Hehe! Maybe we can try again another time.

I paid attention to what you told me and I want you to know that I could never bring anyone harm. People should be able to live happily and smile and laugh together. Keeping them all wrapped around your finger isn't nice ya know. That's pure dictatorship. Maybe when were super old we can talk about it. But in the mean time, here's my favorite book! You can add it to your collection."

He smiled as he doodled a picture of him on it.

"P.S. Here's some cake. Maybe it will make you smile and happy? I'm sure your smile is really pretty!"

He took out the sweet from his bag and placed it on the table before huffing and letting out a sigh. "Ok!" He said before quickly running out of the chamber.

XXXXShe was seated calmly by the windows as she looked at the night sky filtered with shining stars. They looked beautiful and she did not care what fate that boy would have. She had already done her part. That boy would just not listen to simple logic. That was when she heard a ruckus. It was not the sound of the guards, that much she was certain. What did that boy do this time? She stood once more from her position and decided to see what has occurred.

The doors opened for her as books littered all over the floor and the guards unconscious. It was disgraceful as she picked one of the books on the floor. That boy made a mess of these books that held the history of the Dominion and even that of the Cosmos with such rudeness. He has no respect and was not even wise enough to own up to his actions. It was revolting to see him as possible royal. It made her concerned of the Kingdom that would be under that boy's rule.

She would have him clean this mess instantly and be sufficiently punished for such transgressions. For now, her attention shifted to one of the desks which held a portion of a cake and a book. She approached it as her eyes appraised the two foreign objects. She reached for the book and opened it. There she saw the most ugly handwriting and drawing her eyes had laid upon. Was this supposed to be him? That boy should mind his education more, still it was readable for most part. Did he call her a dictator? He insults her and then gives her this book and cake as a peace offering even with the mixture of a compliment, about her smile being pretty.

She placed the book down on the desk and did not even cast the cake another glance. She returned to the nearby communication sphere. There was an answer instantly. "Have the guards be reprimanded for their incompetence and have a maid clean the mess. I do not want to see any traces of the intrusion, not even a speck." She ended it at that and returned to her formal quarters, leaving a book and the cake untouched on that desk. She has no use for such frivolous things.

As expected, once his parents found out, they were not too happy. In fact, it was obvious to know that a grounding would be in order as well as a apology to the Queen herself. He did as he was told and did so. He didn't see what he had done wrong but thankfully he got away with only a few spankings and a grounding. As the party began to die down and many began to leave, Eugene gathered his things and prepared to enter the boat until they were approached by a guard.

"Your highness! The ship! Bandits raided and destroyed it completely and now we have no idea where they have gone! You all may be in danger. Please stay until we catch these criminals."

Eugene's father was not very happy with knowing that his ship had been compromised and that he had unknowingly taken such a threat to a friendly kingdom. He turned to Eugene's mother and began to talk with her. Eugene glared angrily. Bandits were quite common in the desert lands but to think they had the nerve to travel to another place aboard their ship and cause havoc! This couldn't be happening. His mother turned to him and kneeled slightly.

"Eugene your father is going to talk to the Queen and get all the guards as well as our guards to search for the bandits. He may will have to go and fend off. The Queen may as well. I will go and assist with getting people to safety. Do you think you can be a good boy and stay inside the Queen's palace until I call for you?"

Eugene pouted angrily. "But I wanna fight too! Dad said that I'm getting stronger and stronger! I may not have a weapon but... Bandits are bandits! And their gonna hurt everybody if we don't stop them!"

She smiled. "Eugene I know you are strong but you have to know when it is time to fight and when it is time to protect. And now, your just to keep those important safe. Understand?"

Keep those important safe.

Eugene blinked blankly and nodded giving a serious look before running back into the palace. He sighed and stumbled around. Everyone had run seemed to have gotten out safely. Was it only the King and Queen's family left now. He paused seeing the door yet again. He wondered if the girl even had any idea of what was happening. He took a deep breath and began to approach it before stopping. He probably wasn't allowed inside. Well, that's just inside. He turned and leaned against the door. No guards were here so he decided to guard it himself. He knocked lightly and faced forward looking around as if he were indeed a real guard.

XXXXShe was delicately lounged at the window sill with a book on her lap as the glistening stars and the moon's light were cast down on her form. She was still, her eyes closed, with the even breathing patterns assuming that she was asleep. She was a vision of serenity, completely isolated from the events happening beyond the chamber she had been placed in. There was no doubt of worry in her mind that the Dominion would be plagued by the malice from below.

Her sleep was disturbed when a knock echoed through the hallowed halls of the Chamber. Her eyes slowly opening as the sea of stars was reflected on it. Then, she elegantly stood from her position with a book in her hand. It seemed that had fallen asleep while reading. This was a typical thing with her as she lose herself within the written words. It is not true that she does not feel an even ounce of desire to leave the Chambers and explore, but she has a duty and a responsibility being placed on her shoulders. She cannot fail that, so she must contain and teach herself not to desire anything. That is why for now, she would allow this sense of adventure she has towards the books located in the library.

She then walked towards the door as she remembered the knocking sound that woke her up. She placed the book on a nearby table and exited as the doors opened for her. She soon found herself in front of the main doors to the Chamber. There was no on inside, but she was well-aware there was a presence outside. It held a degree of familiarity. She was contemplating whether to speak or not. If it was the council, they would have entered. This was an odd thing, but she could not dismiss the idea of an emergency. "Who is beyond the doors?" Her voice remained calm and soft, not reflecting anything beyond how pristine she must be. "Speak your purpose."

Eugene smiled as he heard the voice. Well at least she was safe. He turned his back against the door and slid down before siting against it.

"Umm this is the great man of the sky here to take you to your destiny!" Eugene said in an obviously fake voice. He then began to laugh. "Just kidding! It's me again. Eugene. Remember." He pulled his knees up to his stomach and rested his chin on them. "Don't worry I won't come inside promise."

He wondered if perhaps she would get lonely in there. He knows that if he had the same fate as her, he'd probably would have bitten the dust by now. Especially at times like this when bandits are roaming about. His face soon shifted to a serious one.

"There are some bandits that are roaming around in your kingdom now. Their pretty bad people and they like hurting people. So don't worry! I'll be out here to guard so that none of them get inside!"

Of course, he didn't have a mean's of protecting himself either. He didn't really think this one through but he was prepared for the worse. Long as everyone else was safe, what more could he ask for. He kicked his feet and looked up at the ceiling slightly.

"Do you... Ever get lonely in there.. Whatever your name is?"

XXXXIt was the same boy. It seemed the guards were nowhere in sight once more. He was persistent, that was something she would say about him. He also has this uncanny ability to sound like a belligerent fool, but he did say he won't come inside. That was a beginning, all she had to do now was leave him to his own devices. She didn't see the need to say anything further and decided to take her leave. It seemed this boy just couldn't get to his head the meaning of her actions, leave me alone, but he spoke again and this time it made a sense to her.

The presence of bandits are unheard of in the Dominion, to have them here must meant that it had been brought from the lands below. This was troubling, the Queen and the guards were probably mobilizing to ensure the safety of everyone. How about her? She was safe within the Chamber, she had no doubt about it, but his latter words struck him as pure naivety. He would guard the doors, she hardly believe him to be capable to fight bandits twice his size and as he had described proficient in hurting people and he was certain that he knows that too.

He was way in over his head and him getting hurt and killed is a foolish choice that could have been avoided. She did not even ask for his protection and from their interactions earlier, she did not given him any impression of wanting to converse to him or be friendly. She was roused from her thoughts when he asked a question. She was at odds whether to speak again or simply return to her room without a word. "I do not need protection. You should leave and ensure your survival." She spoke and there was a long pause before she spoke again. "I am not whatever. I am Kaia."

Eugene's eyes widened as his ears began to ring. Had she finally told him her name? She stilled seemed a bit upset about earlier. He wondered is she would let that go. She probably wouldn't. He leaned against the door and moved his feet back and forth as he spoke.

"Kaia. That's a nice name. It fits you pretty welll." He said with his usual smile. "My name's still Eugene so, hey! We've finally gotten acquainted."

Well, not really but he was willing to respect her privacy. He puffed his cheeks slightly ignoring her warning for protecting himself. He shook his head and smirked.

"Ensure my survival? No way!" He said before lowering his head. "I'm tired of being fought for. Having to sit back and watch people risk their lives for mine. It's.... Sad. Even father feels the same way. When people try to hurt our kingdom, he want's to be a part of it. Because it's his home too and he shouldn't be excused from the battle because he's King."

He quickly jumped to his feet and turned towards the door. Something strange had ignited inside him. It was almost as if for a moment, he had taken control of the situation. His tone turned completely serious.

"These bandits are crafty. If they wanted, they would burg into your chamber thinking riches were inside and hurt you. I can't just sit back and let that happen. Erg!" He clenched his fists slightly. "I'm tired of seeing people hurt all the time. I don't care if I get a scratch or hurt myself, I'm going to protect all! Even you Kaia!"

He paused as he began to hear loud screams. The sound obviously male and soon footprints began to follow. He growled slightly.
"It's the bandits!"

He mumbled slightly before smirking.

"The Queen told me how important it was for you to stay in there... So, I'll be sure to show these guys the door." He said with a small laugh.

XXXXShe was rather surprised at this boy's bravado. She did not know that boy had an idealistic vision. That was a good thing, but that is but a dream. Reality turns out differently and in truth everyone in this world has a purpose to serve, a role to play. It would be wasteful to set that aside just because of a perception that one is equal. No one is. "So keen to die, justifying it for someone." She spoke, there was nothing biting in her words. They were calm as always. "There are other means for someone of your stature to fight. Recall your role, if you perish, do you not think about the sorrow that can be brought or how your land will fall."

This boy was naive, even saying that he will protect all which included her. Kaia was certain that this boy has a death wish. How could he callously risk his life for a stranger. They are in every sense a stranger, even if they know each other's name that does not equate them to anything. "You are naive. That is not terrible thing to have, but you must see the truth, that such a trait can only go so far. One cannot protect everyone." She remained indifferent in expression and in her voice as he said the bandits are here.

For such ruffians to reach the deepest part of the Palace, the Festival had made the security lax. "You should go. They cannot reach me. I told you I do not need protection." She repeated. "You should worry about yourself, declaring such things to me. I do not believe it is possible. That is why your purpose should be to make it real." She stepped away from the doors. "Go before they come. This Chamber will not forsake me."

Everything she said seemed to phase right through him.Her words made him feel as if he HAD to prove her wrong. He smiled and gripped his fists slightly. It was true, he couldn't save everyone. It was nearly impossible; especially with bandits around so freely. However, just because he knew he couldn't, didn't mean he couldn't try. Even if that meant getting hurt himself. Even if that meant risking his life, he wouldn't mind it. It was in his nature and he couldn't just sit idle knowing that people were in danger. He snickered slightly while hearing her.

"Ye. You may be right."

He then began to take a few steps forward and fold his arms.

"Sure I may be a idiot. And sure I could probably get hurt and maybe die and probably lose a arm or a leg. I know I can't save everyone and I know I can't keep everyone alive. But you know what... That's all ok." He turned his head to her and smiled. "A real king doesn't sit around worrying about himself. A real king stands strong on the battlefield along with those who risk their lives for him. It's only fair."

He then began to turn towards the hallway hearing the footsteps approaching. He smirked and began to walk towards it.

"Meh. I guess~ if won't forsake you. Didn't really keep me out now did it?" He said with a small laugh. "You stay in there. I'll try and lure them away."

He then began to run towards the corridor and pass them completely.

"Hey! Get that kid!"

Just as expected, the bandits began to chase him instead of heading down the hallway of the chamber. Eugene smiled and hummed as he began to run. The first part of his plan worked! They weren't going to get new the chamber. Now the hardest part was only to stay alive.

XXXXThat boy, Eugene seemed to enjoy not listening to her. He seemed to allude that the Chamber could not keep out those bandits, because he was able to come inside. This was not a simple Chamber as he assumed. That is because the door had sensed he meant no harm. That was something she had ascertained the moment, she had known his presence inside. That is why the guards who are here to guard the doors has a simple duty. It was not to ensure no harm come to her. They are there to ensure that no one disturbs her in isolation. That is also why there are no guards present even with these bandits roaming around.

If there was an inch of ill will, the Chamber would expel the presence forcefully. That is why she was not fearful or worried about her safety. He even told her to stay inside, that was uncalled for. She will remain here. He was the one who barged in without any permission. She went towards the nearest communication globe as she felt that boy left, playing the role of a hero and even telling her what a King is supposed to be. He must have forgotten, heroes are only known when they die and him being as True King is far from it. He is simply a selfish child who does not know his own position. "Princess! Is there anything wrong!? Are you safe? There are intruders within the Palace. We will get to the bottom of it!"

"I am aware of that. That boy Eugene is roaming the hallways in order to lure the bandits away from here. Pick him up." She ended the communication when the person on the other end acknowledged her words. She stepped away and proceeded to go to her room. She will prepare herself for the night and really she has no mind towards a boy who would not listen and hear the reality and nature of this world. He will certainly die someday, if he does not change.

He continued his sprinting wondered what he would do next. He didn't really think it through completely but from the looks of it, at least it was still going in his favor. His dumb luck had gotten him through so far, why not a little more. He huffed and nodded before beginning to speed up. He dashed his way through whatever corridor he could find until finally coming to a stop. This should have taken them off his trail for sure until he was ready for his next plan.

"Huh!? Where did that brat go?"

He snickered under his breathe before kneeling down and lowering his sock revealing a small box. He opened the box revealing small orbs inside. He was the son of a master tactician, he always had something up his sleeves now and again. He smirked and threw one of the orbs out towards the group. Soon a puff of smoke began to go up and he could hear the continuous coughings and soon the crash of them falling down unconscious.

"Yes! Knock out gas!"

However, his celebration was cut short. He notice there were only 5 bandits instead of 6. Soon he was lifted off the ground by his shirt. "Hey let me go!"

"Finally got a hold ya ya litt-AH!"

Eugene quickly bit into the man's hand cutting as deep as he could began he was released. He then grabbed the mans arm and flipped him onto the ground before jumping up and down on the man's stomach.

"Don't touch me!"

XXXX"You are indeed a child full of surprises, Prince Eugene. Much like your father." This voice was like the soft and soothing whisper of a mother to its child, singing to a sweet slumber. This voice belonged to the one who holds the title, Queen of Stars. Her hair was gold as if the sun itself sprinkled onto it and made it its own. Her face was contoured like that of what one would expect of an angel, and she had a visage of endless youth. She was a vision of light, caring and tender. The guards that accompanied her quickly apprehended the bandits that he had already incapacitated.

"I believe you will make a fine King someday." There was a small yet warm smile on her face as she looked at the direction where he came from. There was a sparkle of recognition within those clear blue eyes of hers. "It seemed that you are acquainted well enough with my Little Star, have you not?" In an essence, she was gentle and warm. There was no air of distance between, her, but there was an aura of gentleness. "She had asked for you to be picked up. She must have been worried. The same could be said about your parents, Prince Eugene."

She gave him an affectionate pat on his head. "Thank you." Her face lit up with such a gentle smile as one of the guards interrupted their moment. "Your Eminence, all of the bandits had been secured." She gave a grateful nod at this. "That is good to know. Thank you. May you also have an airship prepare for the King and his family since theirs have been destroyed." The guard nodded with outmost respect and enthusiasm. "Of course, your Eminence!" She then looked back at Eugene as she reached out her hand for him to hold. "It is time for me to return you to your parents, Prince."

Eugene shivered hearing the voice. It wasn't another bandit was it?! He soon began to calm down seeing that it was only the Queen.Had she been there the whole time? She apparently witnessed Eugene's oddly lucky plan. He blushed and smiled a large smile hearing her compliments.

"R-Really? Am I?" He laughed. "I-I just wanted to help Madame Queen. I'm sorry that these desert bandits came all the way and ruined your party..." He then gasped hearing her say he would make a great king someday. That meant a lot to him. He finally knew for sure that he could accomplish this. He smiled and nodded.

"My parent's are ok right? And everyone else too?" He said while taking her hand happily. He then began to think and turn back to the door. Her little star huh. He smiled and looked towards the queen.

"Yeah. Our meeting wasn't really the greatest... But I think were maybe friends now! I even gave her my favorite story book." He said with a small giggle. His face then began to pout a bit. "Do you think... That when were older, we'll be able to be real friends? Like REALLY REAL friends Madame Queen?" He then began to smile. "And maybe rule together too!?"

XXXXThe boy was a bright one, she would always pray that it would be like so. It was heartwarming. "You need not worry, Your father and mother are both well. The same could be said to everyone else. The bandits did not cause anymore needless damages." She answered in a gentle tone as she began to walk along the corridors to the place where his parents would be, while some of the guards followed behind. She is after all the Queen, even with her endearing and amiable demeanor.

"Is that so? My that is a wonderful gesture from you Prince." She noted about him giving his favorite book. He then innocently asked if it was possible for her Little Star and him to be true friends. She could not say anything about the future as she has not seen or even talk to the Stars' chosen heiress. It is also a rule that both of them could only met once and that is during the coronation. All she has about the Little Star is what she had heard about from the Council and they say she is an excellent one.

"I cannot speak for her, however, if that is your wish, I know it would come true as long as you do not give up." She assured him and then about ruling together. "It would be wonderful to see you two together as good friends." She gave Eugene a gentle smile. "I know that you two shall rule together and lead a new generation to peace and prosperity. It is a duty that had been entrusted to you, my Prince and to her." She then looked ahead of her as the doors to the hall where his parents are opened. "And why would you two not rule together? Your Father and I did as well. I do not see why it would not be the same with you both." She looked back at him and smiled warmly then looked in front of her. "It is time to go Prince Eugene. I thank you for your aid. I shall appreciate it always." She then released his hand and patted his head gently.

"My King. You have a wonderful son and heir." She started while looking at the King Constellation and his wife. "You two have raised him well. He single-handedly captured the remaining bandits within the Palace." She noted while glancing it Eugene. "He will do fine. I am certain."

Eugene smiled sheepishly as he listened to the queen's words. She was so wise and so soft and loving. It was as if she was completely different from Kaia. And if the queen believed that they had a chance to be friends, then it had to be true right? He gave a small sigh of relief hearing that his parents and the others were ok. "That's good..." He said before smiling. "And it was nothing. She had so many boring books. I thought maybe one of my story books would cheer her up."

He followed along with the queen looking around to see if any damages had been done to her palace. Everything seemed pretty ok. He nodded. "Don't give up?" He then snickered. "That's not a problem! I never ever give up! I'll keep trying and maybe we can be friends. Maybe even best friends!" He was so optimistic.

Once he found his parents, his mother quickly went to him and hugged him. "Eugene are you alright?" Eugene laughed and moved around. "Mooom! I'm fine." He said before hearing the queen's words. She really made him seem like a hero. His father smiled. "Well I expected nothing less from Eugene. He's been getting stronger and stronger everyday. I'm sure that when I leave the kingdom in his hands, he will do me proud." Eugene smiled as he felt his fathers hand run through his hair. He then gave a wide smile as Eugene usually did. "Thank you again my Queen for such a lovely evening." As they began to get into the ship and leave, Eugene happily waved out the side and yelled. "Goodbye Madame Queen. Goodbye palace!" He then took a deep breath and yelled louder. "Goodbye Laia!"

XXXXSeren couldn't help, but smile at that energetic manner of Eugene's way of saying goodbye as she waved back in her own humble and graceful way. It is truly a blessing to be a child, because when one grows, such life behind at some point. "Your Eminence, everything now is under control. The guests have all left safely." She looked at one of her guards and gave a small nod. "Thank you." It was then, another voice joined in. "Are you thinking about the Princess, Your Eminence?" Her eyes traveled and found her Prime Minister as the other guards bowed in respect. "You know me too well Leandro." She said as she looked back at the ship which carried the King and his family before it fully disappeared from her line of sight.

"I believe it would have been nice if the next Queens starting with Kaia would be raised in such a way." Leandro walked towards the Queen and then stood by her side. "However, that is not possible. You of all should understand why it is done this way, your Eminence." She closed her eyes briefly and nodded in bittersweet knowing and acceptance. The same fate that Kaia had been placed into was the same for her. "I know. In any case, the festivities are over. Everything would return to as it was. I entrust her education is going smoothly." Leandro gave nod of his head. "Of course. She will be a perfect Star." She gazed at him and gave a sad smile.

XXXXInside the Chamber, Kaia was looking out to the stars again. This had been an activity she was quite fond of. It had been reported to her by one of the council who checked up on her that the bandit situation had been handled and apparently that the boy, Eugene had a part in it. She would have to admit that he has luck on his side, but he would need a vast amount of it in the future, that she was certain of. For now, she would not be bothered with his presence any longer. She had been told all guests have finally left. That was a good thing as she could be certain that there would be no interruptions.

She looked towards the book in her hand. Her face did not reveal anything as she opened the cover and was about to peacefully read when her ears were able to pick up her name being called, in such a loud manner. She looked towards the direction where it had come from and she could only assume that it was none other than Eugene. The nerve of that boy was commendable and at the same time annoying in every way. Her face remained indifferent as she looked back at the book which was actually a new collection to the library. That's right a new book.

Eugene's father snickered as he listened to his boy's goodbye. "Ahh so Laia is her name huh? The queen has told me of the new heir but alas, I have not see her myself. Neither has she I believe." He smiled. "You must have been really lucky to see her Eugene." His mother then smiled. "Yes, but you have to remember to keep the thought of others customs in mind. If you are not suppose to be there, please don't break any rules alright?" Eugene nodded and then sighed a bit.

"Hm? What's wrong big guy?" His dad said before Eugene smiled. "Dad, how come I wasn't placed in a room for a super long time while I was growing up." His father smiled and folded his arms. "Because that isn't our tradition. However, when you get a bit older, your going to take part in a ritual that will show your determination, will to live and loyalty to your people. You remember what it was right?"

Eugene gulped. "The trials." He mumbled. He was completely frightened but luck's been on his side so far.
