Stubborn|Regal|Wise|Strong Willed|Graceful|Enigmatic|Sweet|Psychotic
Erieda, at a glance in, is hard to gather, especially when you can't tell what she's thinking. She is cunning and mysterious and you never quite know where you stand with her. Her smiles can be both and inviting and unsettling, her tone of voice both sensual and menacing. She is patient before she strikes, and you never quite know when she will.

Inwardly, Erieda is not that different from any other woman, she is kind, considerate, even though at time she speaks in riddles and rhymes, and she can be quite playful, she is Fae after all. Erieda often rubs people up the wrong way. She is so firm in her convictions and is quite honest in talking about matters, she doesn't seem to care about other people taking offence,
But she does care - Erieda is a nice person and what she does is for the greater good, if needed, she will sacrifice her own interests for the greater community, her honesty comes from her inability to lie, as all Fae have, but she is quite skilled in telling half truths.
Methodical as well, leaving no stone un-turned, she enjoys helping people, especially lost humans, knowing the dangers they can face in her Realm. She is loving and kind, and welcoming of most people, though she has her moments of being territorial and playful because she is Fae. There is an element of mystery that surrounds her, she carries herself with a regal aire, walking with majesty and grace.

Now, though, Ereida has had a sort of a break with reality, she imagines that her brother is still alive, and he speaks to her and in thais breakdown, she is prone to fits of rage, and self harm.

HISTORY/BIO
groomed as a child, Erieda was raised to protect the realms. Trained as a fighter, and a solider, she the best the Fae realm had to offer as the Protector of the Realms, Guardian of the Converge, the point at which the Leylines of the known realms intersected, connecting the worlds. It would have been a simple mission, were it not for her decision to send her young changeling brother Thomas to the mortal realm. That decision changes their lives for ever. Thomas began to grow int o his powers all around the same time as his friends, one of whom would end up being the father of her childern, Alexander Davenport, a hot blooded, foul tempered demon that somehow managed to steal her heart, even though he's been without another woman at the time. She was suppose to keep quiet, become a silent guardian but with her brother coming into himself and threats on the rise, she couldn't. Eventually, after many years, Alexander asked for her hand to which she accepted, and she gave birth to a set of twin, Symone and Simon.

Sometime after that, a war broke out in the Fae realm between the Seelie and UnSeelie to which the then Queen, her sister Celestia, was killed. Having no children of her own, Erieda was crowned Queen of the Seelie Fae, and ended the war, but nearly dying in the process. This left her in a coma like state until finally she'd awoken 10 years later. She rushed back to her children the moment she awoke, only to ind that her husband to which she left them with, had gone and her children had grown into their young adult years without them.
She tried to get them to forgive her and while they did there was a bit of resentment, especially with her daughter, Symone, who took after her father attitude and all. No sooner did they patch things up did another threat arisen in the form of a demon king and his two children, Andreas and Victoria. After an episode of lies, corruption, and death, Erieda defeated the demon king, but not before losing her daughter and her husband in the process. Alex had become posses and mistaking their daughter for her, murdered Symone, who'd been taken and forced to marry the demon king's son, to whom she killed as well.

Thankfully, Symone's dryad half enabled her to resurrect but it did nothing for Erieda's and Alex's relationship. They barely recovered but when they did, Ereida gave birth to another child, a strange being they named Alexis. This child was odd because she was stillborn, but again being dryad like her mother, she resurrected too but with the odd ability to tap into the netherrealm, a dark realm made up of death and negativity, no doubt from her father's side.

All was still for sometime, the twins had their own lives and their own children, Symone moving her family to the demon realm, taking her place as Queen since she was the wife of the Prince, while Alex went away again, for the longest time, Erieda didn't know where or why but suddenly he returned unable to talk about where he was, or who he was with. She didn't like the secrets but she had her husband back, or so she thought. Simon had gone missing as well, which wasn't uncommon, but little did Erieda know her son was killed by the offspring of Alex and some woman she'd never met. The betrayal only grew from there. Erieda could barely forgive him for laying with another woman, producing a child with her, but that same child, murdered their son, but again, like the other two, Simon was resurrected. Upon their reunion, Simon managed to tell her -having be given the same sigil that disabled speaking of- the Remei was where her husband had been and was the General off, along with Symone. They didn't know what they were after but it was nothing good if they weren't able to be spoken of.

It wasn't long before the Remei revealed themselves, and all Hell broke loose. Thomas had returned to assist in the fighting but it was all in vain as he , Symone, was murdered right in for of her, by Victoria, the daughter of the demon king, their Lifetrees burning and them along with it, no way for them to return, while their youngest daughter, Alexis unable to handle the fighting between her parents, locked herself in the netherrealm, leaving her physical body floating in a coma like state, protected by what is known as a Netherbubble, no one, not a fae, nor a demon has been able to touch it without severe pain.

Now, without her family, one child dead the other missing the youngest gone, and her brother dead, Ereida was bound in iron, the only thing keeping her alive is her husband whose only mercy was keeping her alive, but it hs done nothing for her sanity watching her daughter and brother burn caused something to snap in her mind, and she's been seeing Thomas and speaking to him, slowly withering away.

A collaborative prologue post by myself (Simon Davenport) and TheCrimsonLady (Erieda Davenport).
These posts cover Simon breaking Erieda out of her prison and returning her to the camp, and the following events take place three days before the start of the role-play.

Today is the day.

Simon Davenport moved swiftly through the dense woodland, the location of their current camp, which surrounded the capital city of Isoa'Ri. Accompanied solely by Kaenne, a former Fae soldier, Simon had only one thing on his mind: rescuing his mother from her confinement. He'd spent months trying to find out her location, and another month or so trying to figure out how to free her from it. He was confident, however, that the attempt should be made on this day. He had not told anyone he was leaving, and it was currently the early hours of the morning. According to his own logic, he thought that if he died trying to get Erieda back, he wanted a good number of his group to remain alive afterwards.

After roughly three hours of walking, Simon and Kaenne arrived at their destination, which - rather conveniently - was little more than a giant hole in the ground, in which sat a large metal cage. Even from a distance, Simon could feel the effects of the amount of iron they were using to confine his mother. She was immensely powerful, and as such needed an equally strong prison. The iron made him somewhat dizzy, but not enough (at least at this distance) to hinder him in any way. Kaenne, on the other hand, felt nothing. As the two men moved forward, Simon took into consideration the amount of guards patrolling the area, while they ducked behind trees in order to stay hidden.

He played through several different scenarios in his head, before concluding that six Remei soldiers were too many to take out at one time, at least not without alerting the other soldiers lurking in the area. He couldn't take any risks with this task, it was of critical importance that they succeeded in rescuing Erieda and returning her to the soon-to-be rebellion.

Beside him he heard Kaenne breathing uneasily, the heat emanating from his body being one of the few indicators of his presence, and by lifting a single hand Simon urged the man to compose himself so that they could proceed onwards, which they did after a moment or two. Moving forward in a crouch, albeit rather hesitantly, the two men aimed to avoid being spotted by guards, which was proving to be an impossible challenge. It was beginning to look as if they'd have to turn back, and try again with more people.

Simon turned his head to Kaenne, but before he could mouth any type of plan to the older male, he realised that Kaenne was no longer behind him. It was at this moment that panic struck within him, wide eyes darting around the area only to find that his companion was sprinting past the guards, thereby catching their attention and in turn causing the majority of them to follow. It was a foolish tactic on Kaenne's part but one which could be useful to Simon if he handled it well enough, which he did. Creeping forward, using shadows to cover his skin under the darkness of night, Simon came close enough to the soldiers that he could wrap shadowy tendrils around their necks, lifting and suspending them in the air long enough that they eventually stopped struggling, by which point he released the tendrils and allowed their limp bodies to slump back onto the ground.

Simon had taken to standing up straight by this point, and his eyes found the large sheet of metal posted to the door. Reaching forward, with a gloved hand, Simon traced a large, glowing sigil against it with a single finger. After sitting and observing for weeks on end, he remembered seeing a few soldiers do this when they needed to enter Erieda's cage for any reason. He was surprised by the level of accuracy he had achieved by merely watching others, and as a soft click sounded his success, he placed one hand on the opening and pull it to one side.

The iron was starting to take more drastic effects on Simon's lucidity, but he was too intent on seeing his mother to pay any notice to his own health. Finally lifting his eyes and stepping a single foot inside the cage, Simon's breath caught in his throat, before he spoke. "Mom?"

Image
Image"Thomas...?" spoke a weak voice, seated in the middle of the iron prison. "No? It's you... then who?" the voice spot, soft, as the thin body twitched, the chains that bound her to the prison, rattled in response.

"Mom?"

The frail being turned, her long hair spilling over her shoulders, and onto other floor behind her, hiding her face, only her dark green eyes shone in the dark. "No...No, not another one." She turned her head back, her back facing the vision behind her.

"Stop haunting me, spirit, You're gone, just like your sisters, you're not here, you're gone from me," She said and looked down at the floor.

"Be gone, Spirit." She sobbed. " I know I failed them, you needn't remind me." She sobbed weakly. "Just leave!" She shouted but she stiffened, looking around her.

"That's not a spirit."

"It's not?" She turned. "He's alive, E, he's alive."

"But how?"

"He's your kid.

Erieda got to her knees the chains around her wrists clattering around her, as she moved, it had enough give for her to stand. She was thin, too thin, dark bags under her eyes, wearing a thin dress that before would have been just the right size now hung from her thin frame. Welted like a sunless flower. Her skin marred with burns from the chains and whips, unable to heal. "Si--" She stopped, sobbing on her words.

"Say it, E, You can say it."

"But I f-failed him..."

"No, obviously, not. He's here, he came for you."

Erieda looked at him, he was so handsome, so strong. Her boy, her baby boy.

"Simon?" She sobbed, and rushed over to him only to be stopped by the chains, her arms yanked behind her. She dropped her head, leaning at an angle. "no.....I failed, I failed you, my baby boy, I failed you." She said sobbed, her hair hiding her shame. "I failed you, I failed you...."

Simon's eyes traced his mother's frail, withered body, and felt an ache in his chest at the mere sight of her. He couldn't help but think that for an entire year she had been in this pain, locked in a cage laced with iron and shackled in place like a mistreated animal. And the way she spoke to him, almost like he didn't exist or he was some remnant of her past that she wanted to be rid of, Simon could only guess that the prolonged exposure to iron, coupled with a loss of her family members, had been slowly driving her insane all that time. She was losing her mind in this prison, and instead of feeling sad, Simon couldn't help but feel a little disappointed. How was he supposed to return to the group with his mother in this state? She would be no fit leader, a stain on their moral, like all hope was lost. But, at the end of the day, Erieda was his mother; he'd have rescued her regardless of her sanity, regardless of whether her returning to her people was to benefit or hinder him in this new war they were about to start.

He watched her for a few more moments as she was seemingly in a battle with herself, acknowledging a non-existent presence beside her and rambling on about her failure, until she lunged forward, only to be pulled back by her chains. Simon stepped forward until he was right in front of her, reaching a hand to brush the hair back from her face. Of all the things that had changed about her appearance, the one thing that remained were her stunningly green eyes. Despite her rambling, Simon smiled, and it was genuine. "And now you're going to make it up to me," was his only response, before working his talents on the shackles around her wrists and ankles. He was prepared to catch her if she fell, but otherwise he would simply attempt to lead her out of the cage. It was to be her first sense of freedom in a long time, he thought, so he was careful not to move too quickly or speak louder than a gentle murmur. "A small number of the fae at that battle managed to escape with me, some of our family included. We've been living in the woods ever since, trying to figure out how to free you..." he explained, before pausing for some time. "We would have taken you with us, but Victoria and Alec had you guarded by near enough the entire Remei army until they bound you in this cage. It was impossible to get to you, and by the gods, we tried."

Simon suddenly stopped, his eyes finding Erieda. He wasn't entirely sure that she was even lucid enough to pay attention or understand what he was trying to explain to her. After such a short amount of time he couldn't even begin to judge the extent of his mother's insanity. "You do understand, don't you?"

Image

"And now you're going to make it up to me," With that, her chains were broken and she crumbled weakly on to his chest. Her arms were too weak to hug him, and still cuffed with the bands, but that was alright. He was real. Her son lived. He was right. She was going to make it up to him. He was all she had left. She could only rest her head on his shoulder, as he held her up. "A small number of the fae at that battle managed to escape with me, some of our family included. We've been living in the woods ever since, trying to figure out how to free you..." he explained, and she stood straight. "We would have taken you with us, but Victoria and Alec had you guarded by near enough the entire Remei army until they bound you in this cage. It was impossible to get to you, and by the gods, we tried." He said, while Ereida just listened. "You do understand, don't you?"

"Yes." she said, lowly. "I understand." She said. "I will take Victoria's head..." She said, looking down at the chains that while they were free from the ground, they were still on her wrists and ankles.

"It was just her, E."

"I know that."

"You have to kill him."

"He is Symone's Son, I will not."

"You know I wasn't talking about him."

"I made a promise."

"So did he."

Ereida shook her head. "Simon....You're Father, should we see him in battle...He is mine...." She said, and began to walk, her rage giving her strength to walk toward her freedom.

Simon gave a nod, listening to his mother as she spoke, first to him and then... to that other presence she kept acknowledging. He was trying to make sense of what she was saying, but none of it seemed to fit, though his jaw clenched at his mother's mention of Symone and he turned on his heel, continuing into the forest until his mother spoke to him once again. "Simon... Your father, should we see him in battle... He is mine..." she said, and Simon took a moment to look her over.

"I have no father."

Sarani felt her magic coursing through her as she laid her hands on Erieda's chest. She felt the wind swirling around her hair and transferring from her to the somewhat conscious woman laying in front of her. The life of their queen had been hanging in the balance ever since she'd been rescued three days ago. Sarani could heal the physical wounds, but the emotional ones were more difficult since so far, Erieda had refused to let Sarani heal her heart. But, at least she was allowing the physical ones. She opened her eyes and leaned back, the air that had been aroused from her magic settling back into the sky.

"Your Grace, the physical wounds have healed for now, but..." she took a deep breath, knowing that she had said this many times before and it had continued to have no impact, "your heart and mind will continue to express the trauma you have undergone through physical means, a sort of...conversion disorder. The only way for you to get back to your old self and actually heal would be for me to fix your emotional wounds as well," she said gravely. All she wanted was for her queen to get back to her old self; the one that had inspired so many fae to fight for their freedom. She sighed, "I do not take all of your emotional pain, only a fraction of it, and even then it will pass quickly. It's the only way for you to get well in enough time to have a fighting chance."

She got up from her seat on the ground and poured some herbal tea infused with a little of her empathic powers. I'm running out, I'll have to check in with Aphylla soon... "This will help for now, just rest." Handing it to Erieda, she turned to Kaenne, who had been standing behind them. Motioning him outside, they stood to the left of the tent entrance. She smiled at her half-brother, Aedion, who was practicing skills on the other side of camp. Looking at Kaenne, she bit her lip. "She won't let me heal her completely, at least not with what I'm saying, but maybe you can make her listen, I..." She ran a hand through her hair, a rare sign of the stress that the war had put on her. She looked Kaenne in the eye, her eyebrows creasing with frustration, "there isn't anything else I can do until she lets me heal her heart."

Aedion wrapped the water tendril around his fist, focusing his energy on controlling the movement of the whip and molding the water with his mind. He'd been trying to improve his water combat skills for awhile now, since for the most part it was unreliable. He could use it in short bursts, but he had yet to maintain concentration enough to sustain a manipulation for longer than a couple minutes, and he needed more than that in a battle, especially against the Remei. He stared at the tendril, beads of sweat forming on his forehead form the exertion, and swung his fist forward, the water whip cruising towards a tree at an impeccable speed and crashing into it with a loud crack, causing a portion of the tree to splinter off in all directions.

He grinned triumphantly and looked to his right, catching his sister's eye as she exited her healer's tent, and smiled back at her. They had been through so much together so far, and yet here they both were, fighting with Erieda for the ultimate freedom. He had been thrilled that Simon had been able to rescue the queen three days ago, but he couldn't help but feel doubt at the road ahead of them, especially because they didn't know what else was in store for them. He looked into the distance, trying to see through the trees that hid them from Victoria, but he couldn't, even with his enhanced fae senses. At least he knew that they couldn't see through the trees back at them either, or so he hoped. They had been safe so far, but he knocked on wood anyway just so he wouldn't jinx it. He was superstitious that way.

Looking around camp, he spotted Simon surveying things around and he nodded a quick hello. Aedion was naturally distrustful of Shadow Wraiths, mostly because water and strength did nothing against a shadow, but Simon had grown on him since he'd joined the rebellion. His leadership skills were clear, obviously taking after his mother, and he couldn't help but be completely enthralled with the cause that Simon was creating in all of the surrounding fae. The sense of unity, of commitment between all of them, it was unreal, and Aedion was loving every second of it. He couldn't wait for the day he would meet the Montez' force on the battlefield, because all he wanted to do was smash his fists into a thousand Remei for what they did to his mother. They had been so close to the trees, to camp, and then bam, it was over. His mother was gone, and Sarani had almost followed after her. Looking at his sister, at Aphylla, at Simon and Kaenne and everyone else in the camp, he knew that he would never let that happen to anyone he cared about again. He'd die first.

News of Erieda's escape had traveled fast. Once it reached Victoria, it was almost as if everything was coming down around them. Victoria was furious and vigorously planning the recapture of the former fae queen. It is rumored that her escape had not been Erieda's own doing. Another fight against Victoria was brewing, now that the Seelie Queen had been freed. Ashley would again have to fight the rest of her living family matters so that they love of her life can keep her throne. She has killed many of her own and has even come face to face with her brother. Ashley wasn't able to kill him, but there was no need. By the time she had the chance, all of the realms were under Victoria's rule. Ashley did not want to face Andrew again, she did not think that she could.

Laying back down on her bed, she stared up at the ceiling. Victoria has not summoned her. Though Ashley lived with her beloved, she still felt unneeded by her. The dark skinned dragon would do anything for her. That was why she betrayed her family and sided with her in the battle for the realms. There have been times where Ashley felt as though she has chosen wrong, but Victoria has eased her mind time and time again. Pushing herself up off the bed, she left her room. She wanted to see Victoria.

Ashley traveled down the corridor, first heading towards the throne room. The dragon had a feeling that Victoria was sitting there, seething and planning. Walking through the double doors, she glanced around. "Victoria?"

After months of planning and searching, Simon did it. Aunt Erieda has been rescued. She was the final piece of the puzzle that was not able to escape Alex and Victoria's plan. For months, they have all been waiting in the forest for the right moment to strike back. To reclaim all the realms and return them to the rightful leaders. Andrew lost his parents in this battle and has been secretly trying to find a way to get his sister to return to his side. After losing their parents, he needed his baby sister by his side. Ashley has not left Victoria's side since Victoria has put some claim on her when she was nine. Andrew has yet to find a way to get to Ashley. When the realms were still separated, he kept in contact with her. Every once in a while, he would call and she would actually answer him.

Now that Erieda was back, the battle for the realms can begin again. If Victoria is taken down, Andrew could possibly have his family back. The idea of family, brought Brooklyn to mind. He lost her to Victoria as well, but for a reason that cannot be explained or reasoned. Pushing her out of his head, he saw Sarani and Kaenne leave the tent, his aunt was resting it. He pushed off the tree and then headed towards the two of them. Erieda was the closet thing he had to a mom at the moment, and he wanted to -no- needed to see her. Stopping before Sarani and Kaenne, he gave a soft smile. "Sorry to interrupt..I just want to know if its possible to see her." He would understand if she needed rest.

Three days, she'd been free. She'd managed to eat, but it was hard. She'd wanted nothing the first night, she drank water the second and now she was ready to eat but she had a long way to go until she was battle ready.

"That's progress, E." Erieda looked over at the ghostly image of her long dead brother, Thomas, as handsome as ever.

She knew he wasn't there. What that side about her psyche she couldn't say, but she wanted him there. She wasn't ready to let go yet. She lived for an eon, protecting him and she watched him burn.

"Don't start that again, you know what road that took you down." He told her and she sighed. He was right, or she was right, whichever. She had to heal, get better and bless Sarani's little heart, she was trying. She was at this three days.

"Your Grace, the physical wounds have healed for now, but..." The sweet girl paused taking a breath. "your heart and mind will continue to express the trauma you have undergone through physical means, a sort of...conversion disorder. The only way for you to get back to your old self and actually heal would be for me to fix your emotional wounds as well," she said gravely and Erieda looked at her, a small smile touched her lips. "I do not take all of your emotional pain, only a fraction of it, and even then it will pass quickly. It's the only way for you to get well in enough time to have a fighting chance." She said and Erieda took her hand. "Those scars are for me to bare, Sweetling, leave them be." She told her, gently.

"This will help for now, just rest." She urged and Erieda couldn't fight the warm feeling that washed over her as Sarani worked her magicks over her battered body.

"She's only trying to help and you know she's right."

Erieda ignored Thomas as Sarani took her leave, taking Kaenne with her.

Erieda forced herself to sit up right, her body racked with pain, but she took it. She had to. She could hear them. Erieda the Broken. That's what she was now. Broken. No Unkilliable, which, given the circumstances was still true. She hadn't died, she should have, but she hadn't.

Simon could have died freeing her, she could not let it be in vain.

She held out a hand and called on her power, the earth shook beneath her, as her hand slowly turned. Dots of sweat beaded on her olive skin, as she slowly rose her hand higher and higher, until with a low rumble, a tree root slithered up from the ground, puncturing the grass. This used to be easy, but she was still very weak.

She dropped her hand and took a deep breath. At least it broke ground, rising about a foot or two about the grass.

"Sorry to interrupt..I just want to know if its possible to see her." She heard outside of the tent and Erieda's heart leapt.

"Andrew?!" She called, her chest felt heavy from exertion. "Andrew, come see me, love." She called out, removing her sheets and covers and throwing her feet to the ground, before shakily pushing herself up from off the bed. She needed to see him. Her nephew, the only surviving child -in her eyes anyway- and the legacy Thomas had left on this world. She could barely stand, but she wasn't about to lay down now. Now with Andrew right outside of her tent. She managed a few steps before she fell into him. Between the two of them, she stayed up right, as she embraced her nephew, he was her responsibility now, but she couldn't possibly fail him like she fail his father. She wasn't sure she could live with herself. "Oh Sweet Boy, How I've missed you." She said, brushing her hand down the back of his head, cheek to cheek. "Forgive me...I failed you all."

"You are to watch her until she heals," Simon said, as he and Kaenne stood outside of Erieda's test, the night of her escape. "However long that takes, you must watch her like a hawk. My mother is weak right now, and far too important to risk losing." To this, Kaenne responded with a gentle nod. "On my word as a Fae, I will protect her." And with that, they parted ways.

Over the three days, things had been fairly quiet throughout the camp. Simon was working hard to ensure the smooth running of things until his mother became well enough to take control, including managing resources and training the younger, less experienced members of the rebellion. He had his hands pretty much full, which meant he couldn't spend much time with his mother during her recovery, save for his visits to her tent each morning. He planned to see her after Sarani was finished with her healing, but until then he would simply observe the goings-on around him. One male in particular, Aedion, caught his gaze and Simon watched on with an idle curiosity as the half-breed practiced. After exchanging a nod with Aedion, Simon shifted his stare elsewhere.

It was generally understood that Simon had a very limited window with which to spend time with Erieda, which was usually at the crack of dawn. If Sarani didn't finish soon, he would simply have to cut his losses and focus on his other daily activities. The camp had settled into quite a comfortable routine by this point, and it was Simon's job to ensure that the routine remained as such.

Meanwhile, Kaenne was silently looming over Sarani, watching the young fae as she went to work healing Erieda and taking in every word as if the girl was speaking directly to him. While Erieda seemed to decline treatment the treatment of her emotional ailments, Kaenne could not help but doubt her judgement ever so slightly, though he would never say such things aloud. It was not his place to comment at the time, so he remained quiet. However, he couldn't help but smile. She is strong as she is stubborn, he thought, looking down at the former queen and backing away as Sarani stood to take her leave. Before he could nod a farewell to the fae, she motioned him to follow her outside and, despite his conflicted thoughts of leaving Erieda alone without Slade present, he followed willingly. Erieda would be find for a few moments.

Once outside the tent, Kaenne locked eyes with Simon, who looked a little concerned but made no move towards the two. "She won't let me heal her completely, at least not with what I'm saying, but maybe you can make her listen, I..." Sarani started, catching Kaenne's full attention. "There isn't anything else I can do until she lets me heal her heart."

Kaenne released a gentle huff as his eyes locked onto Sarani's gaze, and he slowly shook his head in response to her concerns. "Erieda's emotional problems are her own to deal with, and she will deal with them only when she is prepared to," he said. "Her fae nature makes her stubborn. She wants to shoulder every burden so that the people around her don't have to, and she's strong enough to do just that." Kaenne glanced at the entrance to the tent, before returning his focus to Sarani. "It's true that her sanity has slipped considerably over the past year, but she is improving and will come back from this."

And just like that, Kaenne pursed his lips, taking a step back as Andrew approached. He had come to learn that the boy was Erieda's nephew, born from the brother she lost during the war. He had no place to deny Andrew right to see his Aunt, but even if he had chosen to be cautious with the lad, Erieda's sudden presence outside had caught him off guard and stunned him for a moment.

"Oh wow," Simon suddenly chimed in. "I get screamed at and he gets hugged?" There was a humorous tone to his voice, and a large smirk pulling at the corner of his lips. "I think there's some favouritism going on here." With one hand hovering over the sword on his hip, Simon gave a nod of dismissal to Kaenne, who went to wash himself up as he usually did at this time of the morning when Simon was visiting his mother. He leaned in and placed a kiss on the side of her head, before stepping back and giving his cousin a warm smile. Not that he had any choice in the matter, but he would willingly give up his free time with Erieda. She and Andrew hadn't seen each other since Thomas' death.

Turning instead to Sarani, Simon spoke again, this time with a much less personal tone. "It would appear that I'm free for a while, if there are any tasks for which you require my assistance?" he asked, offering the girl a subtle smile.

"Andrew?!" Andrew raised an eyebrow, peeking inside the tent. Erieda must have heard him. "Andrew, come see me, love." He heard her bed sheets moving and he immediately figured out that she was pulling herself out of bed. He could not let that happen, she needed to at least say in bed. Making his way inside the tent, he caught the falling Erieda. How she managed to make it this far was beyond him, but he was glad to have caught her. Andrew hugged his aunt, not too tight. He was more than happy to see her alive. "Oh Sweet Boy, How I've missed you." "I missed you too Aunt Erieda." They hugged like this for a few more moments, before she asked for forgiveness.

Andrew pulled from the hug a tad, but continued to hold her in fear she would collapse. He was going to comment, but Simon appeared. "I think there's some favouritism going on here." Andrew smiled back at his cousin. "We have always known I was the favorite." Andrew teased. Joking around like this, made the dragon feel better about the entire situation they were all in. It was nothing to joke about, but humor signified hope still lived in the heart. Simon turned his attention to the healer and Andrew gave his undivided attention to his aunt. In on swift motion, Andrew picked Erieda up bridal style. Walking back into the tent, he laid her down on the bed.

"Erieda, why are you asking me for forgiveness? You have not failed me." Andrew reassured her. They all battled hard during the battle against the realms. It was not her fault that he lost his parents. It was Victoria, Alexander, Brooklyn, and Ashley's. They are all responsible for what happened. Erieda fought with her soul and though she was captured, no one believed she failed them. Andrew has never seen his aunt like this. She was broken and he did not like seeing her like this.

Sarani pursed her lips at Kaenne, understanding what he was saying and yet refusing to accept the words. Erieda was by far the most difficult patient Sarani had had, but at least she was being nice about it. She felt sweet whenever she was around the former queen. She felt...whole. Nodding at Kaenne, she felt a smile forming on her face as Andrew bounded over to them, his youthful face looking excited at the prospect of his aunt in the tent. She was about to say yes, but Erieda beat her to it.

She walked opened the curtain for him and let him inside, allowing Kaenne to follow suit. She stayed more on the outside, for the area was small and it seemed too intimate for her to be a part of this display of family affection. Especially because within the next moment, Simon appeared in his usual window of time to say hello to his mother. He stepped out after a moment, giving her and Andrew some privacy, before turning to Sarani, the warm look he'd worn before now transformed into a business-like expression that made Sarani stand a little taller. "Nothing you need to worry about. Your mother is doing well. I've done what I can physically, but I would still like for her to remain with me a little longer, just so she can regain her strength and work on healing emotionally," she felt like she'd been repeating the same words over and over again, but it was the truth. She really needed to get more herbs, try some different concoctions that would speed up Erieda's recovery. St. John's Wort, Passionflower, Ginseng... She blinked a couple times to get herself back in focus, remembering that Simon was standing in front of her and he was someone she did not want to mess up in front of. "Sorry, usually I'm not so spacey."

Aedion tried not to jump at the sound of Aphylla's voice to his right. He turned at looked at the smaller fae with a sardonic smirk forming on his lips. "Oh it did. This tree," he said, brushing his palm over the bark, "took your attention away from me. The worst crime on the planet," he smiled at Aphylla, taking a step closer to her. Oh, he knew he was a flirt. But he couldn't help it, it was just who he loved to be. He knew he was good looking, so why not use it to his advantage?

He remembered his first day in the camp, watching her tend to some plants while he tried not to be fascinated. Water combat was one thing, but it took a very gentle touch to be able to nurse a plant to blossom. Since then he had of course made his reputation known with sex and romance, more sex than romance really, but he and Aphylla had never gotten that far. For whatever reason, he wasn't that upset about it. It was refreshing to just flirt and not have to worry about what a sexual relationship would do to the dynamic. Not that he ever really wondered about that anyway, but still.

Before Erieda could protest, Andrew scooped her up, and carried her back to the bed that she'd felt trapped in for the last three days. She hated to admit it but she was grateful for the rest.
"Erieda, why are you asking me for forgiveness? You have not failed me." Andrew said and Erieda clicked her teeth. "Andrew," She began. "Since my birth, protecting the realm, was all I knew to do, you may not know all of this but, I wasn't always Queen, I had but one mission, protect the Parkwood Converge, where all the ley lines met, connecting the realms...That was it. All I had to do..."She said and her gaze drifting to the image of Thomas behind his son. She knew he wasn't there and the more she thought that the more his image faded but she wouldn't let it. She couldn't let him go. "But I had a young brother, he was all I had, I thought, I had to protect him too...so I brought him with me, making him a...side mission if you will." She said, looking back at him. "I failed in protect both my brother, and the Converge....and I lost them both." She said, and touched his face, tears touching her eyes. "I failed you, your father, your aunts and uncle, your--" She stopped before she could finished, she knew he knew the words she was about to speak. sister...

"I made the mistake of falling in love...You're father warned me of him, but I was too much a fool to listen...and he paid the price." She said, and turned away, swallowing her tears.

"Once I heal..." She said, and didn't finish. She was going to kill her husband, for her children's sake...in her brother's memory. She would kill him.

It was another bad day.
Sunday sat in her bed in a separate quarters from the one she shared with Alec, curled up, her arms wrapped around her legs, as the pain in her heart bled through her tears. She was supposed to attend Brooklyn's party but this was how she spent most of her days, crying and crying, not doing nothing at all, just laying there, staring into space, wondering if she should just pitch herself from the highest tower.

Alec would only stop her. He meant well but that was just it. He never seemed to know what call to make, but that he had to make one. Placing her sick demented mother as ruler of the realm was a foolish choice, she knew that from the start, but the problem didn't being until Alec had them return to the kingdom with which her mother ruled from. They'd gotten away from it all, her father, her mother, the burning ash of his mother's lifetree, to which he'd done nothing to stop. She could still remember the smell of Symone's skin, and could hear Erieda's cries for mercy for her daughter, while her own mother watched on with sick pleasure.

Erieda was a real mother, one that Sunday never got, one that would do anything for their child and wept when they were hurt. Victoria only laughed.
Image

Alec foolishly thought she was more stable...

"However, in my defense, your mother seemed like the most stable choice. Alex was no more morally sound and much less mentally stable. Erieda, Simon and pretty much everyone else were opposed to the realm's creation and, be completely honest, do you not think that any of them would execute Victoria if given the chance?"

He'd said and Sunday could have struck him for the statement. Their grandmother was stable before she had her daughter and brother burned alive before her. Giving it to her should have been an obvious choice, Erieda before this probably would have given her mother mercy before then, at Sunday's behest but now. Sunday would watch as she burned.

That was the only thing that kept her going lately. Erieda escaped. She was free and surely she would heal and return.

Maybe she would kill Sunday. It would be an act of mercy. Sunday didn't feel like living, not any more. She had one good parent, she knew she did and sure shunned him for Alec. He didn't want her with him, of course he wouldn't, Alec was her cousin by blood. It wasn't anyone's choice save for her mother's, who practically raped her father, masquerading as his wife after she killed her.

Sunday reached up and gripped her scalp, pulling hard at the black as pitch locks.

Alec genuinely thought she was the best choice for a realm!

Guilt and grief gripped her stomach and she fell onto her side, holding herself as if her stomach would just burst and her arms were the only thing keeping the insides in.

This went on for a while before finally it ebbed and she could breathe again. Thoughts of her father and her own betrayal always brought out this pain. The look of sheer disappointment on his face when she told him she wasn't going with him. She'd set him free from his cell, she couldn't let him die like Alec let his parents.

There was a sudden knock at her door.

"What?"

"Your Grace, Your husband wishes to speak with you in your quarters."
Sunday sat up and looked at the door. The room shook with her annoyance but she stopped. Alec wasn't the enemy, he was fool, but he was her fool and admittedly...she was a little afraid of him. He wouldn't ever hurt her but at the same time he could control the one thing good thing about her feared; Iron.

She pulled herself to her feet, her dress, white, laced and falling in ribbons around her legs, swished softly as she walked. She liked to look more Fae like, with Erieda free, she knew it would only piss her mother off, not only that it made her feel closer to the family that she'd abandoned by mistake.

She opened the door, not bothering to look happier then she was. She wasn't happy anymore. She had hope, but she wasn't happy. Hopefully Erieda would remember her visits and maybe she'd come and save her instead of killing her, either way, she'd find peace.

"You called, Beloved?" She said, and her words were true. he was just that, her beloved, her fool.

"There's a lot on everyone's mind at the moment," Simon replied, to which Sarani nodded, glancing into her tent at Erieda and Andrew. There wasn't any room to be apprehensive about the future. With Erieda's escape came an official declaration of war, which meant that she would no doubt be seeing a lot of her friends in there very soon. The prospect of the bloodshed in their future made her shiver, but she knew that if they wanted to be free, then the fae would need to fight, and she was there to make sure that they didn't lose their lives doing it. "I wish there was a way to fix this without danger hanging over us at every turn," she sighed. She knew that it was hopeless, but death had always been her weakness. She was terrified of losing the people she loved, and she had grown to love everyone in this camp.

Simon sighed, "Thank you, by the way, for healing Erieda... I don't think I got the chance to say it before," he said, slipping his hands into his pockets. "I owe you one," he continued, before pausing.

Sarani smiled slightly. She liked this side of her leader much better. Professionalism was all fine and square, but when Simon was more comfortable around her, more easygoing, it made her more comfortable, too. It was why he was good at his job, he could enforce his cause and still be a friend to everyone there. "Don't worry about it. I want to see her well just as much as you. All of us do," she admitted, her voice calm and clear. "Hey, I'll let ye' go now, but if you've got a spare moment, could you check in with Kaenne? He should be in his tent... I fear his pains are getting worse," Simon said, causing Sarani to frown. Kaenne would never admit to being in pain, a trait that made him both endearing and frustrating, but even he should know that they couldn't afford a single weakness right now. She nodded and went back into her tent, grabbing what was left of her herbs and heading over to Kaenne's tent.

"Someone need a little magic?" She grinned, pulling back the entrance.

Image

Aedion laughed at Aphylla. "Bad tree," he said, as she skipped towards him. She ruffled his hair and he frowned, pushing her hand away. "Thank, mom..." he said. Aphylla was a natural tree hugger, and so it didn't surprise him with what she said next. "Okay, you know, I have to practice on something! Better tree than your gorgeous face, am I right?" He laughed. Looking over to his sister's tent, he noticed her talking to Simon now. She looked worried, but he could only guess at half the things on her plate. As a warrior, he was tasked with winning the battles and saving the fae from immediate danger, but her job was much more...frustrating. At least he was comfortable with the fact that his family fighting beside him knew what they were getting into during battle, but Sarani never knew whether she was going to save a life or not. It made him incredibly happy just to be standing off to the side with Aphylla, blowing off his responsibilities. He noticed how the sun caught her pale blonde hair, and his heart warmed at having a friend closely.

"Not sure about the herbs, sorry. We haven't really spoken today, since she's been so busy with Her Majesty. And, all she said last night was that there was some improvement, but that she has a long road ahead of her," he sighed. All of this talk of death and seriousness was enough for one day. He'd talk to Sarani later and find out what was going on, but for now he wasn't to keen on thinking about it.

Erieda went on to explain how her duty was to protect Parkwood. Before she became the great Queen of the Seelie and the strongest fae, her job was to protect the area where the realms met. His aunt went on to explain how she also felt it necessary to protect his father as well. And both of them ended up being taken away. Andrew still did not understand. She was one person. One who was not of royal descent. Was given the job to protect a major mutual territory. That was a lot to ask even if Erieda was destined for greatness. Of course she does not see it this way. Tears fell down his aunt's face and he did not know how to react. He did not want his aunt to bare such a burden. She needed to forgive herself for what had happened. Everyone was at fault for not being able to stop Victoria. But he kept that to himself. "Once I heal..."

Andrew gently placed a hand on her shoulder. "Carrying a burden such as yours, will make it hard for you to be at your best." He explained. "You should forgive yourself. You know if dad was here, he would never let you feel this sorry for yourself." He said, with a soft smile. "But I'm not going to force you to do such a thing. Lord only knows how stubborn this family is." Leaning down, he kissed his aunts cheek. He removed his hand from her shoulder. "Get some rest." Andrew said, before turning and leaving the tent that she was resting in.

"Victoria?" Ashley called again. Empty. The throne room was empty. The ruler of the realms was no where to be found. She was probably already moving her forces and allies around to recapture the Seelie Queen. Or she was forcing Alexander to fetch his missing wife. Interactions between the two of them have always been quite interesting. Maybe this time they will actually fight. One can only hope. The dark skinned beauty walked closer towards the throne room chairs, her head down. She stopped before Victoria's chair and sighed. Why doesn't her beloved ever confide in her? A sigh escaped Ashley and she looked up at the chair. She caught of the banshee standing near it. It was Markus.

The banshee's are not allowed to speak unless spoken too. So his eerie silence was relatively normal. "Markus?" She called, letting him know that she was addressing him. "Have you seen Victoria?" she asked. His job was to stand by her side. He had to know where she was.

Sunday shivered as his hands came around her. She could feel that he was shutting down. She didn't want that but her words were nothing but true, she was more Fae then demon. "You don't need to apologise to me," He said and his voice cracked, and she looked up at him. Her grey wide. "I don't deserve it." He said, and after a pause he spoke again. "I cannot keep you here against your will... If you feel that you must return to your father, that you must end this marriage," He said and she could see the pain in his voice. "I cannot change things I have done in the past, all the people that have been harmed because of me. I have to live with these things every day, and I will live with them for the rest of my life. There's no changing that. But I would do whatever it takes to keep you by my side..." He said, gracing her with a soft smile that broke her heart. "I understand... I know why you feel the way you do, but I will always love you. I would do anything for you, and you know that."

Sunday shook her head. "No no, I don't want to leave you, Alec, I just don't know what to do." She said. "I love you, I was so happy when you asked for my hand, I just....I just wish I didn't have to choose between you and my father...." She said, swallowing so her words weren't muffled by her tears. She gripped her head.

"None of my emotions are making any sense anymore. I just...." She turned, and looked out at tall window their room held. "I just want out." She said, and felt compelled to run and jump clear out of the window, but it wasn't that she wanted to die, or fall.

She wanted to fly.

She had no wings, Her father had no wing, if her mother had wings she didn't know, yet she felt so badly that she could just sore into the sky. She pulled away from him. " I need to go." She told him, her eyes were wild, almost mad. She must have looked manic but she didn't care before she darted toward the window.

"Carrying a burden such as yours, will make it hard for you to be at your best." Andrew said, a hand to her shoulder in comfort and she smiled softly at him, pride in her eyes, resting her hand atop his. "You should forgive yourself. You know if dad was here, he would never let you feel this sorry for yourself." He said and she chuckled." No, He wouldn't." She commented. "But I'm not going to force you to do such a thing. Lord only knows how stubborn this family is." He said and he rose, leaned down and pressed a kiss to her cheek. "Get some rest." he said and she sighed. "He would be so proud." She said, as he walked away. "I know I am." She said, though her lip quivered. She turned her head, to hid her falling tears.

She cursed her weakness. She needed to get strong, for her family, the few she had left. She still had a son, a young daughter somewhere, she still had her brother's legacy, the proud young man that had once sat before her, and a grand daughter.

She hadn't forgotten Sunday, even in her madness, she recognized the dark haired girl, she'd grown into such a beautiful creature, body and soul. She'd visited her nearly every day. Erieda had looked forward to her visits, how the girl would sing to her, play her a soft song on her violin, tell her about the rebellion that had rose up in her name, after she'd sat her father free and while how she loved Alec, she missed her father greatly too. The girl spelled all of her secrets to the once mad Erieda, she wished she could go back and get her.

A thought struck her then. She needed to get her grand daughter, Simon needed to get his daughter. She was more important then just their familial bond.

"Simon!" She called out, hoping he was at least near by, or at least someone was. She started to stand but stopped herself. "Simon!"

Whatever Sarani was doing, it was working well to dull his pain, though it was a good while before he began to feel any relief. As soon as he was able, he began flexing his fingers, and when Sarani finally sat back, he lifted his arms up and attempted to lift himself into a kneeling position. His laboured breathing soon calmed down, as he began to appreciate the fact that such things weren't impossibly difficult after his pains went away.

He shifted his gaze to Sarani as she spoke. "You should have come to me sooner. I don't care if you're too proud, this is your life in jeopardy," she snapped, and Kaenne shook his head, his gaze meeting the ground in front of him. "The rebellion would be hopeless without you, Kaenne, you have to know that. We need you at full strength in order for us to get back our freedom, and it would really help if you would ask for me when you need me." He could feel his temper flaring, but it was not in his nature to act on such emotions. The girl spoke confidently of his problems when she understood near enough nothing about them, but it was not his place to scold her or even explain the root of his pains in any kind of detail; she worked so passionately, and genuinely cared for the people around her. She offered her services so willingly to a lost cause... And she seemingly believed he was worth something to this rebellion. He had nothing but respect for Sarani.

Before he could respond properly, she had already stood and was calling something to Simon. Kaenne picked himself up off the ground, and grabbed the shirt he'd intended to put on. By the time he finished slipping it on, Sarani had finished speaking, and on his way out of the tent, he placed a hand on her shoulder. "Thank you for your help," he said, "but these wounds will never heal." He was truly damaged, and little more than someone's failed experiment.

Kaenne made is way over to Erieda's tent. Whatever Simon and the other soldiers were preparing for, he had no doubt that Simon would prohibit his participation. He was to watch the Queen, and ensure her safety. It was an even more important task, with the absence of Simon and most of the rebellion's fighting force. The camp and its inhabitants would be under protected, but in truth, they weren't his priority. He was Erieda's protector, at least until she was fully healed.

He arrived at the entrance of the tent just as Erieda began calling for her son, and he pulled back the curtain to see her attempting to stand up. His brows were weighed down by a disapproving frown, and he moved closer as if to guide her back onto the bed. "Erieda, please," he cooed, "if you do not rest your body, it will take even longer for you to heal properly. And right now, we have very little time to spare." He stepped back a bit, hoping that she would take his words into consideration and lie back down. He did not wish to physically force her, but would do so only if necessary. "Simon is busy at the moment, after receiving troubling reports, but I'll call for him when he returns to camp. For now... is there anything I can assist you with?"

When the tent pulled back, she honestly, didn't expect the large dark skinned man to appear. She felt odd for some reason, and it left her frozen, her arms holding her up, as she'd tried to move her legs back on to the floor.
"Erieda, please," he cooed, and she frowned. He was Fae, yet he spoke to her so informally. "if you do not rest your body, it will take even longer for you to heal properly. And right now, we have very little time to spare." He said and she sighed, and sat back against the soft feather pillows behind her. She didn't have the strength to be stubborn at the moment, though she wanted to be. "Simon is busy at the moment, after receiving troubling reports, but I'll call for him when he returns to camp. For now... is there anything I can assist you with?" He asked and she sighed.

"No, not at the moment, this is a personal matter." She said, deciding it was best not to mention his daughter to his subordinates and huffed. "I moved more carrying two children, who used to think my womb was a fighting pit." She said chuckled more to herself to him. She looked at him a moment then and her eyes went wide. "Wait, I--I know you...?" She spoke. "Kaenne, You...You were in my Queensguard during the UnRest? You fought gallantly, I thought you were lost to us?" She said, it all coming back to her. He was skilled fighter, she remembered, and a loyal Seelie. She'd thought he'd been killed.

"We had to bury your weapons, gave your a warrior's send off...." She said, a soft frown on her face, that lifted into a smile. "But You survived, I am glad...but how?" She asked. "Where have you been all this time?"She asked. "We beat battlefield looking for a body...there was nothing to bury at your tree to bring you but we tried."

"No, not at the moment, this is a personal matter," Erieda replied, and Kaenne nodded, standing back a bit to allow her some room; not that he was majorly in her way. "I moved more carrying two children, who used to think my womb was a fighting pit," she continued. Her chuckle brought a soft smile to his lips, and he lowered his head for a moment as if to hide it, before managing to straighten his expression. The look he received after speaking so informally to Erieda suggested that he should be more careful with his behaviour when he was in her company.

He caught her gaze suddenly, seconds before her eyes widened. Instinctively, he shifting his weight, his arms moving from behind his back so that he could be ready to react if anything was truly wrong, all the while keeping a calm expression. "Wait, I--I know you...?" she suddenly said, and Kaenne could not keep himself from frowning slightly, almost surprised by the fact that she hadn't remembered him sooner. "Kaenne, you... You were in my Queensguard during the UnRest? You fought gallantly, I thought you were lost to us?" she continued. Kaenne didn't quite know how to respond to that. He might've known that her memory would be a little frayed, with all that had gone on. He simply nodded along, maintaining eye contact.

"We had to bury your weapons, gave you a warrior's send off..." Kaenne felt a small tinge of guilt that she had gone to such lengths to honour him in death, all the while he was... with him. A shiver ran down his spine. He did not wish to think about it. He watched instead as Erieda smiled for him, and he felt warmth on his cheeks at the sight. "But you survived, I am glad... but how? Where have you been all this time?" she asked. "We beat battlefield looking for a body... there was nothing to bury at your tree to bring you back but we tried." Kaenne shook his head, clasping his arms behind his back with a shaky exhale of breath.

How could he lie to his Queen? Or ignore her question? He was stuck for words by this point, and remained silent for a few more moments, his lips twitching with failed attempts at forming any kind of sentence, let alone a coherent one. "I was defeated in battle... I had fallen, and a short time after, my body was - I assume - stolen," he began, his voice unusually quiet. "For many months after the war ended, I was kept in the prison cells of Victoria's castle. I didn't know that at the time." His eyes seemed to lose focus, as if merely recalling the memories was a difficult task, and all too real for him to cope with. "That Remei man... he wasn't content to let me suffer the same punishment as the other fae." He looked up at Erieda for a moment, remembering her former bond with him. She didn't know he was talking about Alexander; he wasn't entirely sure she could cope with such a revelation at this time. "I can speak little of it... The important thing is that I escaped. I have been serving under Simon's leadership ever since. I helped him get you out of the prison that night."

"I was defeated in battle... I had fallen, and a short time after, my body was - I assume - stolen," He began and Erieda's brow furrowed. She could see pain in his eyes, and for a moment, she almost stopped him. "For many months after the war ended, I was kept in the prison cells of Victoria's castle. I didn't know that at the time." He said and Erieda's gaze fell to the floor. She took had been a victim and Victoria's wrath, she rose her gaze on to find that his was elsewhere. "That Remei man... he wasn't content to let me suffer the same punishment as the other fae." He said and she frowned, as if he were going to say something else, but decided against it for her sake. If this had been before she would hae demanded that he speak, fight through his fears and memories, but she wouldn't dare, she could still hear her daughters screams. The worst was that she wasn't calling for her.

"Daddy! Help me! Please!!"

Erieda felt herself trembling at the memory. She took a deep breath and focused on Kaenne's words. "I can speak little of it... The important thing is that I escaped. I have been serving under Simon's leadership ever since. I helped him get you out of the prison that night." He concluded and she gave a half hearted smile and placed her hand atop his. Her dark eyes finding his. "I am sorry for what you've been through, I too have suffered at the hands of Victoria's men. All of them, everyone will pay for they've done....and Victoria, she live a long life...." She said and she had no intention of that life being a one filled with any semblance of happiness, her suffering would be endless. " Thank you, Kaenne, for assisting in my escape. Those days were....foggy, at best, and I try not to think about them..." She said, finding her voice trailing off as her gaze dropped again.

She looked down, noticing her hand still curled around his and felt...odd, before she removed it.

"Um, I just realized, there is something I need. A tree, I'll heal faster within one..." She said, and it was true, but she felt very strange all of a sudden and didn't wish to dwell on it.

"If you could find me a Redwood seed, I believe I have enough strength and magic of grow one on my own." She said, "If it's not too much to ask." She added, softly.

"You're cruel to take advantage of my obedience in such ways," Alexander spoke, creeping toward her. Victoria could only smile, kittenish "This is hardly appropriate, Victoria." She reached out, yanking him down on to the bed, a breath away from her lips. "Nothing you an I have ever done together would ever be considered...Appropriate." She whispered like this hiss of a snake. She didn't understand him, she didn't know why he would loyal to her. She understood, Kellin, and Ashley, she took her time corrupting him, Ashley she'd been corrupting since they were both incredible small, so it was understandable, Kellin, she took her time with, whispers and sweet promises, touches and kisses, and over time, he befell to her charms, but Alexander. She didn't even have to try. He just did. He chose her side, she didn't ask for him, he came to her.
Image

With that thought in mind, her fingers curled around his throat, not enough to for him to even bat an eye at but enough to excite, and without moments, she pulled him roughly against her lips, taking the flesh between her teeth, pulling tugging him against her.
She knew she couldn't best a Fae in the magic of love and lust, much less a Queen, it was a matter of fact, not opinion, but still, she couldn't help but wonder what made him want to be her side and not his wife's. This was just as much as a victory as burning Symone alive while she watched.

Kaenne suddenly felt Erieda's hand on top of his, and he watched with subtle surprise as she smiled up at him.

"I am sorry for what you've been through, I too have suffered at the hands of Victoria's men. All of them, everyone will pay for they've done... and Victoria, she live a long life..." she said, and Kaenne thought briefly about true that statement was, although his issue was not so much with Victoria as it was with Alex. She had done some terrible things, but Alex had done just as much, in addition to torturing him for months on end. "Thank you, Kaenne, for assisting in my escape. Those days were... foggy, at best, and I try not to think about them..." she continued. Kaenne nodded in response; she would have known by this point that he would do anything for her, and saving her was no skin off his back. Stating the obvious would be pointless, at least in that moment.

She stopped speaking for a moment, and Kaenne watched as her gaze shifted downwards. He followed it and was surprised to find that Erieda's hand was still placed on top of his. He'd barely noticed, being so wrapped up in his own thoughts and Erieda's speech. As she moved her hand, it felt cold suddenly, and while his head was still tilted downwards, his eyes searched for the Queen's gaze once again, unable to keep the smile from tugging at his lips; however slight it may have been. He could have put it down to her being rather distant as of late, since he wasn't entirely sure her sanity had been fully restored, but instead allowed himself the chance to be naΓ―ve. He thought briefly about possible feelings of affection, despite it being such a small gesture.

"Um, I just realised, there is something I need. A tree, I'll heal faster within one..." she said suddenly, changing the subject. Kaenne turned his head to Erieda, and nodded a little. He could understand that; she was a Dryad, much like he used to be, but more than that she was very much concerned with healing quickly. Almost as if she didn't want to be a burden on the rebellion by recuperating for prolonged periods of time. "If you could find me a Redwood seed, I believe I have enough strength and magic of grow one on my own," she continued, before adding, "If it's not too much to ask." He felt himself smiling at the softness of her voice. She was a Queen, and knew that he would follow her every command, but still would not demand that he complete this task.

After a moment, Kaenne shook his head, standing a little straighter suddenly. "Of course it's not too much," he responded with a firm tone. "I would lay every seed in this forest before you, if you asked it of me." An exaggeration, of course, but the idea behind it still stood. He was her soldier; he would serve her 'til the end of his days, no matter what she asked. And, on the grand scheme of things, gathering a few seeds was nothing compared to the extent of his willingness to appease her.

Kaenne turned and exited the tent, taking a brief look around the camp. He would be disobeying his leader's orders by leaving Erieda alone, but the camp was fully guarded by this point; he would be back before they all up and left. It was more an issue of trying to sneak out of the camp without Simon noticing. He would be the least likely to approve, even though - in Kaenne's mind - he was only disobeying an order to follow one. What was he supposed to do in this situation?

Once outside of the camp, it was a simple matter of collecting the seeds, which he knew were in some kind of cone. Tapping into his fae nature made the search a lot easier, and he came across several of these cones within a short time, but as a result, he had given himself a headache. It was not easy for him to use his natural abilities; not anymore.

Kaenne returned to Erieda's tent as soon as he could, being somewhat grateful for the fact that Simon had not noticed him doing so. Despite being stood so close by, his mind was occupied with other things, allowing Kaenne to act as he pleased for a time. Drawing back the curtains of Erieda's tent, he gave her a small smile, and as he walked closer, held out his hands to display his findings. "These are the ones, right?" he asked, sounding almost worried that he would have gotten it wrong. "I... I can never tell nowadays."

After a moment, Kaenne looked around the tent, chewing his lower lip. He could not imagine her wanting to plant it in here, which would mean he might have to allow her to move from the tent. Again, another display of disobedience on his part. As he looked down at Erieda once more, he thought that it was worth it. He could break his word for her as he would for no one else. "Where do you intend to plant this tree, my Lady?" he asked, stepping forward just in case she wanted to move from her bed and needed a way to steady herself.

"Of course it's not too much," Kaenne spoke, his voice deep and firm. "I would lay every seed in this forest before you, if you asked it of me." He told her and she watched his expression. Why did he say that? Was it because she was Queen...or something else. She had no words for him as he walked out the door.

"You know what this is, E." Erieda turned to see the illusion of her brother leaning against the tent post. Erieda sighed. "Yes..."

"You really want to go there?...Now?" He said and she rubbed the bridge of her nose. "I...I don't know, I don't mean too, I'm just..." She stopped herself before she admitted it.

"You're lonely." Thomas said plainly.
"But so soon...I've only just--"

"Just got most of your mind back, and realized that you haven't--" Erieda turned her head and held up her hand. She did not want to hear sexual advice from her brother. "By the Goddess, Thomas, I can't hear this from you." her tawny cheeks reddening.

"I'm not Thomas." came his reply and Erieda looked at him. Right, He was only an illusion, her own subconsciousness. Thomas was gone. "I supposed you're not." She said and that was when his image began to fade. She knew it was only her mind projecting him, but she didn't want to lose him yet, not even in her mind.

It was then that Kaenne entered the tent, gracing her with a smile which forced a tight one from her. "These are the ones, right?" He asked, self conscious about his choice it seemed. "I... I can never tell nowadays." He said and Erieda found it odd. He was a Dryad, full, not a halfling like her son, but even he could tell the difference between seeds. She didn't question it, they've all been through too much. She looked in his hand. "Yes, these are correct, thank you." She said, taking them gently from his palm.

"Where do you intend to plant this tree, my Lady?" He asked and she looked at him. "In the forest, It'll need to blend in to the forest, so that any curious eyes might think it was already there." She told him, and started to raise. She was healing, but it was annoyingly slow. Her body still ached, her magic weak, and the skin on her wrists and ankles hadn't grown back after been burned by the iron.

Sarani did the best she could, bless her sweet heart, but she wasn't ready to deal with her mental health yet so she would need a different method. She stood, her balance unsteady, and she leaned into Kaenne, partially from unsteadiness but from the almost overwhelming need to touch him. She was weak, she knew that, and being around a full blooded Fae male, was not something she could easily deal with in this state. His allure was weak, weaker then it should have been, but it was certainly still there. He held her up, considerate of her personal space, but she couldn't help wanting to linger in his. His chest was hard on the palm of her free hand, his arms warm around her.

It was much like when she'd been with Bertoldo, only he too was cold to the touch being vampire. She'd never been in the arms of a man whose touch was warm. The thought of her husband snapped her back to reality, and she managed to steady herself and remove herself from him. She cleared her throat.

"I needn't be in the forest for this." She said, and made her way gingerly to the middle of the tent, and placed herself on the ground. She crossed her legs, setting the seeds on to the ground in front of her. Magic hummed from her, like the rumbling sound of a coming quake, as the seeds began to shake, and sink into the ground like a pebble in a lake. Erieda rose her hands, and her fingers began to move, like a puppeteer working strings. The ground rumbled beneath them, as the seeds opened up underground and roots spring forth, her eyes closed, and her fingers still moving, she searched for where the seeds originated, and forced the roots toward the other trees in the forest nearby. It was away from the camp, but not far enough for Simon to complain... too much. He was as stubborn as his mother sometimes, she knew that.

Finally once the roots reached the other trees, her left hand, the dominate one, jerked up, her fingers splayed and curled, as she forced the roots down and made it grow up and out of the ground. She could hear even from there, the cracking of wood, and surely most of the camp felt the rumbling. Sweat dotted her brow, and her breathing was quick, this was strong magic, and had this been before, it would have been nothing for her but she was still too weak for this to be easy.

Even still, she pressed on. She pulled the tree up and up with her left hand, and waved wide with the right, making the base of the tree wide and thick. Wide enough to fit a small building.

Soon the ground stopped rumbling but tree still grew up into the air. She forced her self to stand to continued it's growth in height, her brow furrowing from the pain but she pressed on and on until a strong proud redwood stood in the middle of the forest. With her right hand, she focused on the middle of the tree and hollowed it out enough for living spaces. She could have gone in more detail but her body wavered, having drawn too much magic.

"There." She spoke, completely out of breath and her head spinning. "If don't mind, I can't walk to the tree, but I need to be inside." She said, taking a few teetering steps toward him and went limp against him. She was still conscious, but she couldn't do much else.

"In the forest. It'll need to blend in to the forest, so that any curious eyes might think it was already there." Erieda replied, and Kaenne nodded, watching as she tried to rise from her bed. After a moment, she began to lean her weight against him, and he responded by partially closing his arms around her, just in case she decided to up and drop to the floor due to weakness. He felt many things in that moment, but perhaps the strongest feeling was shame and guilt; he enjoyed holding Erieda in his arms, and found himself in appreciation of the fact that she needed support from him, but at the same time recognised that such things were inappropriate of him to think. He would not wish this state of being on anyone, let alone his Queen.

Eventually, she managed to steady herself, and as she moved away from his embrace, he felt himself immediately missing the closeness. "I needn't be in the forest for this," she informed him, and as she began to work her fae magic on the seed. He found it fascinating, watching her do such things. For the most part, he remained where he was for a long time, studying the way her hands moved as she manipulated the seeds, and while concern sparked him in as he witnessed how much of a strain it might've been on her, he managed to keep himself planted in his place, even as she stood. She know how far she could push herself before it became dangerous, he knew. He had faith.

"There," she began, and Kaenne took note of her breathlessness, stepping forward out of pure instinct. "If you don't mind, I can't walk to the tree, but I need to be inside," she added, shortly after falling limp. He darted forward, allowing her entire weight to fall into his, his arms moving around her in order to keep her steady. With one arm wrapped around her upper back, he shifted her around and picked her up bridal style, with his other arm curled under her knees. "I don't mind at all," he finally replied, "it shouldn't take me too long to get to the Redwood trees." He then began walking out of the tent; unable to pull the tent curtain to one side and otherwise unwilling to use Erieda as a meant to get through it, he turned his back to the entrance and reversed out.

Simon and his soldiers had already left by this point, but Kaenne still walked cautiously through the camp. He was worried mainly about what Sarani might say if she saw them, so he was trying his best to avoid being seen by anyone, which was not easy. Walking through the camp with the Queen in his arms was drawing a few stares, so even if Sarani herself had not seen him leaving, she would soon hear of it. And, as such, he began speeding up his walk, all the while trying to keep Erieda as steady as possible in his arms. "I'm gonna get my ass handed to me for this, you know," he murmured, giving a quick glance behind himself, just in case anyone had tried to chase him down. By this point, a lot of the remaining soldiers still followed Simon's leadership and subsequently his orders; especially ones which concerned Erieda.

Once they were far enough away from the camp, Kaenne began to relax. It only took him a little less time to find the Redwoods than last time he had ventured out into the forests, although he relied mainly on Erieda's guidance when it came to finding the one specific tree she'd grown. "Ah, we're here," he said after a moment, glancing up and down at the tree. "So... where's the entrance?" he asked, looking down at Erieda.

Erieda couldn't help but melt into his arms as he lifted her from the ground. Her legs dangled over his arms, and her head resting his chest. "I don't mind at all," He told her and she could only nod. "it shouldn't take me too long to get to the Redwood trees."

She felt her eyes began to close, his heartbeat steady, lulling her into a daze, with the added weakness of the magic, and the warmth of his arms, she was losing the battle with consciousness.

"You really wanna go there?" Thomas's voice told her in her head, starling her some. She didn't respond. "You remember what happened the last time you felt this way for someone...didn't end well..."

Erieda fought the urge to roll her eyes. Her love life never ended well. "I was talking about the man who wasn't Alex."

She knew that too. She hadn't even slept with him, but did that stop Alex from ending him. Not that Bertoldo probably said they did when they hadn't. He was a fool that way, but she did care for him. His death hurt just like all the rest.

. "I'm gonna get my ass handed to me for this, you know," Kaenne, breaking her from her thoughts. "Don't you worry, send my son to me if he complains, or anyone else for that matter." She said with a soft smile as she began to guide him toward the large freshly grown redwood that was tucked neatly into the forest. To the untrained it, it would have just looked like a normal tree, but to a Dryad, it was clearly, bigger and stronger then all of the trees around it.

Ah, we're here," He said, and she nodded. "So... where's the entrance?"

Erieda looked up at him oddly, a smile on her face. "You know better." She said. "You're a Dryad, yes?" She asked but it was rhetorical. There was no entrance, no obvious one. "Hm, Set me down." She said, and he did as she asked, and she placed a hand on to the tree, and the bark slide apart like a slide puzzle, into a large home-y room, it wasn't furnished much, of course, but it had rooms, and places for cushions to be placed on couches and mattresses on beds, there was even a dining area, but that was all she could do. It wasn't as fine as she would have liked, but impressive all the same.

She hobbled a bit inside, not wishing to be carried anymore, and the moment her hand touched the wood, she felt stronger for it. It wasn't her life tree, to which she sank underground, along with Simon's before she was captured so it wouldn't be found.

Symone had taken hers to the Demon realm, left it unprotected....

Even still, This tree would do, she would draw her strength from it and her energy was already being restored. She took a deep breath and turned, standing steadier now. "You can come in, if you like, surely you could use the strength." She said, not meaning to imply anything by inviting him in but still she felt a little...kittenish for it.

Kaenne watched as Erieda looked up at him, the smile tugging at her lips causing his gaze to focus entirely on them, but only for a moment. Her words stunned him, perhaps mostly because he didn't quite know how to answer her. "You know better," she began. "You're a Dryad, yes?" It was not that simple, he thought. With the addition of new species into his body, his fae side was weakened considerably. Things that had once come naturally to him were now near enough impossibly difficult, such as finding the seeds, and later the tree. But he knew she was right, he should have had enough sense to know that a tree would not have an identifiable entrance, especially if Erieda meant to hide out inside of it. He had been rather pre-occupied as of late; sense and logic were both far beyond him by that point.

"Hm, set me down," she ordered, and Kaenne did just that, setting her down carefully but ensuring that she would be okay to stand on her own two feet. He watched with subtle curiosity as she formed an opening, merely with the touch of her palm. By simply peering inside, even from this distance, he could see that she had worked hard to make the tree into a habitable environment, so she could heal in comfort - he presumed. And, all the while, his thoughts had been so occupied with the inside of the tree that he had barely noticed Erieda walking inside of it, until she hobbled into his line of site. As he focused on her, he could already see that the tree was providing her strength; she stood a little taller than before, and he felt the sudden urge to smile.

"You can come in, if you like, surely you could use the strength," Erieda suddenly piped up, and Kaenne was almost surprised by the offer, but nodded nonetheless. It was not often that anyone invited him anywhere, let alone the Queen of the Seelie Fae into her personal living space. After a miniscule moment of hesitation, Kaenne began walking forward, stepping through the entrance almost cautiously, his eyes drawn to anything and everything in the room like a curious child. Despite being alive for a few hundred-thousand years and having the body of a mature male, Kaenne was very young by fae standards, and though he had been trained as a soldier for most of that time, his youthfulness often escaped him at times, perhaps more so when he found himself in the company of older fae.

He turned to Erieda then and, with a subtle gesture to the space around them, spoke once again. "You continue to amaze me, my queen... This is a beautiful space you have created." It was nothing compared to the castle she once owned, or perhaps even her hotel, but it would no doubt be preferable to a small, dingy tent. This was also much better for her wellbeing, which was most apparent to him only after he'd stepped inside. Merely being inside such a tree fuelled his strength, and gave him the energy he'd lost through lack of sleep. The stress, coupled with his overwhelming concern for Erieda, had been getting to him lately; making it impossible for him to sleep through the night, or even at all. The fatigue he had grown accustomed to was gone, and he felt as if a large weight had been lifted from his shoulders. He could breathe a little easier now, and it brought a small smile to his lips.

Kaenne took another quick glance around the room, taking note of the lack of additional furniture and living supplies, and after clicking his teeth, he focused again on Erieda. "I can have the men bring some pillows and sheets for you, if you'd like," he suggested, "and maybe some other things to make you more comfortable here." He gave a brief thought as to what he might be able to bring her, but provisions are the camp were limited at best. Anything they might be able to spare would be useless to Erieda in her new location. "However, until Simon and the others have returned from the village, there's not much else to offer at this moment, besides a few make-shift tools, and some poorly crafted weapons." It was in this moment that he hoped the village was not a lost cause, and that they might be able to find some decent equipment, in addition to better protection for the weaker members of the rebellion.

He stepped towards the entrance a bit. "Have you eaten this morning, Erieda?" he asked, his voice riddled with concern for the Queen. "I could hunt for you," he promptly added, "or find some fruits and berries?" And, after a few seconds, he spoke again with increased urgency, as if he had just remembered something which should have been painfully obvious to him. "Water," he suddenly blurted. "You must at least need some water, right?"
