Their numbers were few, very few, The Seelie Queen had no choice but to make this deal. The other fae did not like this, not wishing to be indebted to creatures of the Night, as that's what the Unseelie were. But they knew they could not do this alone, they were already tossed from their home, forced into exile in this world, they needed more allies not enemies, and surely if the Unseelie were clever enough to find them, they would make short work of them in this realm, with iron buildings and vehicles. The Unseelie would keep their distance until the Witching Hour when they were the most strongest. Which it was now.

The Seelie Queen traveled alone because of this, knowing that she was strong enough, even at the time, to face any that would come calling. She was a Dryad, powerful enough to move the very earth beneath them, and though she was Queen, to the Fae, that made her the most powerful of them, even if the UnSeelie King had managed to do enough harm to her to lose the war.

It was her folly, she should have married him, but she was refused to be his slave. This King was not like the those who came before. She was a conquest, and he would have treated her as such. She couldn't allow that but the cost of that was great.

No, she had to do this alone, she chose herself over her people before, and that nearly ended the Seelie as a race, this time she would sacrifice the very blood in her veins to save her people.

The meeting was to be held on mutual ground, The Seelie had settled into an island forest, the trees blanketed the small island, making it near impossible for anyone to see in if that happened upon it, and for added measure there were wards on the island that made it so that should Man happen upon this island without Fae guidance or blood, they would wander around it, never knowing it was there.

The Seelie Queen traveled through the murky water that was called by Men the English Channel by wooden ship, it would appear uninteresting but truth was it was beautifully crafted and fit for a Queen.

Once the ship docked, caught a carriage out to a place called White Chapel, for her escort, the Vampire Lord. She was dressed in the fashion of the people. A long deep green gown with a mandarin collar, a fitted corset around her waist but she wouldn't pull her hair up, even though she wore a hat to match her emerald gown. she liked it long and flowing, she knew she looked foreign but she didn't care, what she was wearing, for the Seelie Queen, this was already too much. She didn't know why the mortal women thought this was fashionable. It was hardly comfortable but she wouldn't judge, her kind was just as happy in nothing at all.

She looked up at the dark night, the sky dotted with star and the moon bright and full. She had that to say for this realm, it was beautiful, for all of it's iron, they way they fought with nature, the one thing they couldn't hurt was the sky, and it was breath taking.

"'cuse me, Miss?" called a man, calling the Seelie Queen from her thoughts. "You not from 'round here, are ya?" he asked, and with a sneer that made her turn up her lip. "No, I am not." She said, "What's a lady like you doin' all the way out here, all by herself?" He asked and she knew where he was going with this, but she had to keep her head down. Her allure was up, she knew, she wanted to appeal to the Vampire Lord, and she didn't know him to look at him. It was not this drunkard, that was for sure.

"Waiting for someone." She said simply.

"At this time of night?" he asked. "Must be up to no good." He said and approached her, coming close as if he would grab her. "Don't." She said, holding up a hand but he kept coming. He reeked of rum and tobacco. "I'll pay double." He said and wrapped himself around her, in attempts to kiss and grope her. Pay double, for what?

The Seelie Queen, while her magic was limited, it still gave her enough strength to fend off this cretin. She moved, grabbed him by the throat and lifted him from the ground with ease. "Go. Away." She said and dropped him before he had time to register what she said. He crab-walked backward, gaping at her. "Y-your one of them?" He said, then scrambled to his feet, and took off the other direction. She merely shrugged. She was no Vampire but it was best they thought as much. The less mortals knew of the Fae the better.

"Are you sure this is a good idea, My Lord?" spoke an elderly gentleman at the furthest end of the table. "It has always been our way to stray from taking sides in other peoples' wars." Bertoldo Ettore stood with his hands clasped behind his back, his eyes focused on nothing in particular, chewing thoughtfully - perhaps even hungrily - on his own lip as he seemingly debated how to answer such a question. Before he could form a single word, another man - decidedly younger then the former - decided it was his turn to voice an opinion. "If we go through with this, I believe it would be a foolish choice. Things are already difficult enough here as it is, with the humans and their suspicions. Placing ourselves in the middle of a war, and on the weaker side no less, could end us. And you know that."

Bertoldo lowered himself into his seat. "You doubt our strength?" he suddenly asked, his voice dangerously low. This seemingly triggered panic amongst the men of his Council, who all looked to each other to answer this question for them. After a long moment of silence, Bertoldo looked up from his hands. "You all fail to understand what might come of this, if we are to take the Fae under our protection. The benefits we will receive if they accept our terms." There was another long moment of silence. "You honestly think they'd allow that?" the elderly gentleman asked again, and Bertoldo offered only a shrug at first. "I suppose we'll have to wait and see." The men didn't seem to be satisfied with his response but then they rarely were. The lot of them were foul-tempered, cruel, and most of all sceptical. He could stand before them for an eternity explaining why he thought it best to hear the Faery Queen out, and keep an open mind of her request for protection from the vampires, but even by the end of that time he would not have convinced them to allow it. They were simply too stubborn, too close-minded.

Bertoldo stood once again, and bowed his head for a short moment. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I believe I have an appointment to attend, and I don't wish to be late." And, with that, Bertoldo slipped from between the chair and table, and made his way to the carriage awaiting him outside of his home. Trailing behind him was a rather short, overweight man. Mr Wells was entirely mortal, but useful nonetheless, and perhaps the only one in all the world who truly understood Bertoldo. They both climbed into the carriage, and off they went.

Bertoldo had arrived long before the Queen, and to avoid any trouble from the mortals, he had submerged himself in the darkness that the alleyway provided him at this time of night. Mr Wells had taken to waiting behind in the carriage, while Bertoldo was to lead her back to it when she arrived. But even as she did, Bertoldo couldn't bring himself to approach right away, were it for the doubt in his mind that she was the Faery Queen or something else entirely. He found himself watching her for the longest time, noting her features and admiring her beauty from afar. Even as she was approached by a drunken man, he felt the need to stay behind. It wasn't until she practically lifted the man off his feet that he was sure of her identity, and after a short moment, stepped out into the rather dim lighting, making not a sound as he did so.

His hands were hidden within the pockets of his overcoat, his unnaturally piercing eyes focusing only on the woman that stood before him, facing the other way, and after a moment he took his place by her side, wordlessly. His gaze now drifted, as if surveying their surroundings, and when he was seemingly sure they were alone, he nodded to himself. "My apologies for keeping you waiting," he spoke at long last, in a voice smoother than velvet itself, before he shifted himself around to face her, his lips wearing a pleasant smile though his pale eyes watched her as if she was little more than prey - undoubtedly a side-effect of her allure being so high. Despite his species, he was not a man who enjoyed treating living creatures as no more or less than a meal, or something to be used at his whim. "You must be Erieda," he continued, speaking with utmost confidence, before proceeding yet again by extending his right hand towards her. "I am Bertoldo Ettore, as I'm sure you have already gathered."

As her hand slipped into his own, Bertoldo lifted it to his lips and pressed a gentle albeit lingering kiss to her knuckles, before allowing her hand to return to her side, or wherever she pleased. His eyes never left hers for a second. He had half a mind to comment on their beauty but figured he would be careful with his gestures for now. She had come to him seeking protection and he wouldn't allow himself to make her uncomfortable. So, remaining quiet for a moment, he straightened himself and his overcoat, and gestured to the nearby street corner. "I've arranged for a carriage to take us to my home. I feel we'd be safer to discuss our plans there than anywhere else in this damned place," he informed her, before nodding his head in an 'after you' gesture. "It's just around the corner from here, My Lady."

As they approached the carriage, the door was already open for them, and Mr Wells poked his head out of the door for a brief moment before offering the Queen his hand, aiming to assist her in entering. The two men sat opposite her, and Mr Wells reached for the door to close it. As they moved off, Mr Wells cleared his throat and pulled at the collar of his shirt as if he was all too warm to be comfortable. "If you don't mind my enquiring, Your Grace, is there a reason you chose to travel alone to this place?" he asked her.

Just after the drunkard dashed off, a man who practically radiated power, approached her. "My apologies for keeping you waiting," He spoke, and the Seelie Queen turned, her dark brow arched. Her eyes rose to his face, and she was taken slightly aback. She didn't expect him to be so...handsome. The Fae were used to being the most beautiful creatures, and everyone else was much lesser, even her intended wasn't hard to look at, he was just hard to stand.

However this man, vampire, was oddly handsome, as if he had Fae in his blood. She shook that thought, knowing that she was being vain.
"You must be Erieda,"He said and she nodded as he rose his hand to hers. She looked at it oddly before realizing that he wanted it, so she placed her hand in his. . "I am."
"I am Bertoldo Ettore, as I'm sure you have already gathered." He said and she nodded. "I have." She said, as his hand rose hers to his lips and pressed it to her knuckles. She couldn't help but smile, as his kiss lingered a bit longer then she anticipated. She wasn't opposed to it though. She knew her allure was up, and surely he was feeling it's affects. Not only that, he had an allure all his own. She knew very little of vampires, she knew of Baobhan Sith which were like vampires, so perhaps they had a similar allure?

He let her hand go, and she felt a bit colder for it. She liked the way his lips felt against her skin. She might have been Queen but she was still Fae, she still had her wants and needs.
He gestured toward the darker alley, and while any mortal woman would have been wary, Erieda was not. In fact, her skin gave a slight glow, so nothing was every really dark.

"I've arranged for a carriage to take us to my home. I feel we'd be safer to discuss our plans there than anywhere else in this damned place," He said and and she smiled, chuckling slightly.

"It's just around the corner from here, My Lady." he told her and she nodded, as he gestured for her to walk ahead of him and she did with a nod and smile.

They arrived at a carriage, the door opened for them and a mortal man poked his head out and offered her his hand, to assist her. In this dress, she needed all the help she could get, movement was restricted, and she was a Dryad, she was as agile and quick, used to jump from tree to tree in her younger days...and a few times now when she was alone. Getting in a carriage was no more then stepping up a stair, but this dress made things more difficult.

She sat with both men opposite her. She looked at the two of them, Bertoldo seemed rather calmed, while the mortal man, seemed entirely uncomfortable, by the way he pulled at his collar and she smiled. Her allure was effecting him as well, more than it would the Vampire beside him.

"If you don't mind my inquiring, Your Grace, is there a reason you chose to travel alone to this place?"The mortal man spoke, trying to calm himself.

"My people are xenophobic," She said simply. "They would have preferred not to involved anyone else in our affairs, and because I understand this, I did not force anyone to accompany me." She said, a half truth but true nonetheless. "Aside from the fact they this entire city seemed to be build with the one thing that can harm us the most." She said, but wouldn't say what it was. It was only the two but that was too many to know a weakness. "Are you his personal valet, Mr....?"

"My people are xenophobic," Erieda replied, and Bertoldo found himself somewhat taken aback by her blunt honesty. He appreciated it, of course, but worried more than anything else. It had planted some small seed of doubt within his mind that this idea, taking the Seelie in and protecting them, would not be as successful as he'd imagined. He had to fight for his own people to be tolerant of them, this would only work if the Fae returned the favour. He had half a mind to ask her if she intended to keep them in line, but she was already continuing. "They would have preferred not to involve anyone else in our affairs, and because I understand this, I did not force anyone to accompany me." To this, Bertoldo simply offered a nod. Mr Wells frowned a little but spoke no more on the subject, fidgeting in his seat.

"Aside from the fact that this entire city seemed to be built with the one thing that can harm us the most." Yet again, both men were left with many questions that they dared not ask. Erieda seemed to change the subject as if she knew she'd already said a bit too much, and they both seemed to understand and appreciate this. "Are you his personal valet, Mr...?"

"Uh, oh, Mr Wells," the shorter man responded, seemingly caught off guard by her addressing him directly. "And yes, I... suppose so," he continued. "I manage his affairs and whatnot, and I manufacture serum, but the Lord can dress himself well enough." He tried his best at a laugh but he was nervous and anyone could see as much. His hand had so far not left his collar for a second, and now a very thin layer of sweat was bringing a shine to his forehead. Bertoldo turned his attention back to Erieda. "Mr Wells is mortal in all ways but he is very useful. He created the serum we use to quell our more animalistic side, and because of this we are no more threat to these humans than they are to themselves, though convincing them of as much is proving to be an impossible task." He paused a moment. "Other than that and assisting in my affairs, he is also a very good friend of mine. I trust no one else like I trust this man, and I only tell you this because, if I am ever unreachable, he's the man you should go to. I wish to make you feel comfortable in my home but... avoid placing your life and trust in my Council."

Mr Wells leaned forward in his seat, craning his neck around to be able to peer out of the window, watching the world move around them for a few moments before sitting back. "We've still got a fair bit to go," he informed them, seemingly finding the question in amongst Bertoldo's silence. He was offered only a nod in response, and this seemed to suffice for the moment.

It had been about an hour or so, in Bertoldo's estimation. The carriage slowed to a gentle stop outside of a rather large building, bland and rather unimpressive to look at. It blended in with the rest well enough that you wouldn't imagine there to be a Vampire council living within. Bertoldo liked it that way, and he always greeted his home with a warm smile and a lingering stare. The door opened beside him and distracted his attention, and after a second or two he climbed out, turning and offering his hands to assist Erieda in stepping down from the carriage.

Bertoldo was eager to get this situation sorted out, and so he wasted no time at all in guiding Erieda into his home. He glanced about the streets as they approached the door, which opened before him almost as if the man on the other side could sense him ahead of time. The man stepped to one side, his eyes solely on Erieda, and Bertoldo gave him a warning glance as they both passed by. He turned only his head to Erieda, wearing a half-smile. "I hope you'll forgive them for staring. They've likely never seen your kind before, and the Council's opinions on this matter have no doubt seeped into their minds as well," he explained, keeping his voice strangely low as if he didn't quite want to be heard by anyone other than her. Mr Wells had taken his leave by this point, knowing he was not needed to discuss these plans.

Before long they were at the door of his office and he opened it wide, turning and giving Erieda a warm smile. Once she was inside, he closed the door gently behind her and moved quickly to the chair on the closest side of his desk, pulling it out for her. He waited for her to sit, but instead of walking to the other side of it and taking his own seat, he simply remained by her side, turning and resting himself against the desk. He looked down at her, his smile remaining. "First of all, perhaps I should have said it sooner, but I wish to welcome you to my home," he said, his tone almost humorous. "Now, is there anything I can do to make you feel more comfortable? If you'd like, we may discuss these plans over dinner?" he asked, knowing that it was almost time for him to feed on something, lest he falter in strength.

Erieda slowly took in Man's word, as it passed by her in the carriage, and while it reeked of iron, enough to make her stomach churn, there was an odd beauty in it. The tall buildings, a testament to their ingenuity, the mechanical devices, that worked like the magic they did not possess.. The carriage itself clicking and hissing was oddly amusing, like a strange song. She wondered if this was how the mortals felt when happening into a Fae inhabited forest? Wander, and Excitement, and a twinge of fear. She found herself wanted to explore further in, much like the mortals do in her world.

Finally the arrived at the manor, and Bertoldo politely offered her his hand after stepping out of the carriage. She would have liked the ride to go on a little longer but in the end, she knew she work to do. She couldn't get lost in this world, even if she truly wanted to.

The fate of her kind rested on her shoulders, weary as they were. She slipped her hand into his, and felt a soft chill crawl up her arms. His kind did not produce heat, as they're bodies were some place in between living and death. It was a strange notion, but not entirely foreign, the UnSeelie were much like that, only much colder.

He lead her into the manor, a rather plain looking structure, unlike what she'd expected and honestly she felt a bit disappointed, she wanted to see more of what Man could create, she wanted to see it first hand. She didn't let this show, she merely looked on with quite amusement until she felt eyes on her.

She looked to her side, and saw that a man who'd opened the door for them, gave her a dagger like glare. This was no something she wasn't used to. Walking into the UnSeelie king's palace, Warm and glowing like the morning sun against the stark blacks, whites and greys of the Unseelie palace, she'd knew that look all too well.

She was unwanted.

Fair enough for the Unseelie, she didn't want to be there anymore than they wanted her there, a point she made painfully clear when it came time to meet her Intended.

"I hope you'll forgive them for staring. They've likely never seen your kind before, and the Council's opinions on this matter have no doubt seeped into their minds as well," [/b] Bertoldo said, calling her from her thoughts, offering her a small half grin. She shook her head. "It's quite alright," She said. "With any luck, I can change their minds." She said, and walked along with him.

They then approached a wooden door, which -while it pale in comparison to what she could create on a whim- was lovely and healthy, she could feel the wood breathing and smiled. She knew Man didn't share the world, they dominated it, subjugated it, so it was nice to see that this wood was not dead, cut, but not dead.

She'd made a move to touch it, but instead, Bertoldo reached around and opened the door for her. She figured it was some sort of mortal etiquette, sine she hadn't opened a door and was offered a hand more times then she'd ever had before in her near eon of life. She wondered if this was just from Bertoldo and the kind Mr. Wells, or were all mortal men like this.

She then thought back to the drunkard at the docks and thought better of it. Chances are the vampire and his valet were most likely the exception not the rule. She stepped through the door then, and continuing the trend, he closed the door softly behind her, then pulled a chair for her. She wondered if the females were able to do much, it seemed that it was polite to do anything for a woman. Where mortal woman feeble or insipid? Shaking this thought, she watched as he leaned, almost causally against his wooden desk which spanned most of the room, and looked at her,

"First of all, perhaps I should have said it sooner, but I wish to welcome you to my home," He said, light in his tone. She smiled and nodded, giving a soft bow of her head.
Now, is there anything I can do to make you feel more comfortable? If you'd like, we may discuss these plans over dinner?"

Erieda cocked her head, avian-like as a chuckle tugged at her lips. "Odd thing, you mentioning dinner." She said. " but to answer your question, I am a fine as I am, thought if you've a garden, that would be nice, I am a Dryad, I feel at most comfortable, surrounded by flora and fauna." She said. "But that is a conversation for another time." She said and her expression grew dim.

"As you know, My people, we are low in number, we fought a great war, and the losses were paramount." She said, the images still plaguing her thoughts.

"What you do not know is that, thet war was so great, it tore a hole in the veil, the ley that kept our world and yours apart." She said. "Yes, mortals have come to our world and vice versa, but never so many." She said. "If I could say that."

"For now, My people, we need to recover, our enemy, the UnSeelie, they do know where we are, we've hidden ourselves, on an island nearest what we call "Ironside." a place only few fae dare tread." She said, swallowing being that she is one of those Fae. "For now we are safe, but surely, they will come to know where we've hidden, The UnSeelie care little life, fae and mortal alike, and I fear that our mere presence puts us all at risk...." She said and looked up at him.

"Unless we work together. You see, Like you, The Unseelie, that are the Night Court, they thrive in the cover of darkness, while we Seelie, are of the Day, blooming in the sun. We are not safe at this time, and I hoped, that perhaps we can use this to our advantage." She said and took a breath, knowing she had to lay it all out for him so that he may get a sense of how serious she was. " I am Fae, My words can not be false, should I choke on them and die. What I say next, I need to you trust and believe. " She said, and took a moment to let that all sink in. "I would like to give you, a small taste of what a deal with the Seelie Fae, can offer." She said and pulled back the belled sleeve of her dress, revealing soft caramel skin and offering it to him, being sure up her allure a bit so that it would be more then tempting.

"Take my blood, the blood of the Seelie Queen herself, and you, Bertoldo Ettore, Lord of the Vampires, will be able to walk in the sun."

"Odd thing, you mentioning dinner," Erieda replied, and Bertoldo raised a single brow, curious of the meaning behind her words but not so inclined as to interrupt her by enquiring. "But to answer your question, I am as fine as I am, though if you've a garden, that would be nice, I am a Dryad, I feel at most comfortable, surrounded by flora and fauna." Bertoldo listened to her words intently and nodded along as if he understood, though this information was entirely new to him. He and his own kind had little knowledge of the Fae, or more specifically these Dryads the Queen spoke of. He made sure to make a mental note of each new piece of information he received. Bertoldo was rarely vain but often enjoyed being the most knowledgeable person in any room, which he was - on most occasions. It was because of this that he spent most nights locked away in his library, over socialising with his people. Knowing nothing was something he'd undoubtedly have to get used to when sharing Erieda's company. "But that is a conversation for another time," she continued, drawing him from his thoughts. He noticed her suddenly grim expression and the casual half-smile he was wearing faded as a result.

"As you know, my people, we are low in number, we fought a great war, and the losses were paramount," Erieda went on to explain, and Bertoldo felt the urge to cross his arms over his chest as she talked. Such details he was already aware of when he first received word from the Queen. "What you do not know is that, that war was so great, it tore a hole in the veil, the ley that kept our world and yours apart." A small frown pushed Bertoldo's brows further down, and he pursed his lips a little - unintentionally, mind. "Yes, mortals have come to our world and vice versa, but never so many," she added. "If I could say that." Another nod was offered in response to this information. Truth be told it was all a little complicated in his mind but he was taking her words as they were, without trying to piece it together. "For now, my people, we need to recover, our enemy, the UnSeelie, they don't know where we are, we've hidden ourselves, on an island nearest that we call 'Ironside.' A place only few fae dare tread." Bertoldo pushed off the desk and stood, his eyes on the window, before returning to Erieda. He was sure he'd heard something out there, but he wasn't about to interrupt her. "For now we are safe, but surely, they will come to know where we've hidden, The UnSeelie care little life, fae and mortal alike, and I fear that our mere presence puts us all at risk..." Bertoldo was not surprised to hear this; he'd already been warned of as much from his council, his people, and now the Queen. However, for the first time, he was taking this warning seriously. He felt himself swallow, and he averted his gaze, perhaps for longer than necessary.

"Unless we work together. You see, like you, The Unseelie, that are the Night Court, they thrive in the cover of darkness, while we Seelie, are of the Day, blooming in the sun. We are not safe at this time, and I hoped, that perhaps we can use this to our advantage," she continued on, and Bertoldo knew that they head reached a discussion of terms. This would be the most interesting part, he knew, but the one he was dreading the most. If they asked too much with nothing in return, he would have no choice but to refuse, and he knew he would not feel well with himself if he left Erieda and her people to fend for themselves. "I am Fae, my words cannot be false, should I choke on them and die. What I say next, I need to you trust and believe," she said. "I would like to give you, a small taste of what a deal with the Seelie Fae, can offer." Suddenly she was pulling back the sleeve of her dress and it didn't take very long at all for Bertoldo to realise what she was about to offer. Something he couldn't hope to accept; there was strength in her blood, he could feel it from where he stood. She extended her arm towards him and he found himself taking a very slight, probably unnoticeable step backwards, his eyes never leaving her wrist. "Take my blood, the blood of the Seelie Queen herself, and you, Bertoldo Ettore, Lord of the Vampires, will be able to walk in the sun."

At first he was stunned, and it showed - almost painfully so. He didn't understand it, nor did he believe it. He didn't know her or her kind, didn't know the properties of her blood or what it would do to him if he were taste it. For all he knew, she could use that hold over him to her absolute benefit, and this was something that he could not - as a leader - allow. For the first time since he'd encountered this woman, he did not trust her. Though, and he didn't know why, he couldn't bring himself to walk away. He assumed it was because he didn't want to leave her behind, but in reality it was mostly because her allure was keeping him there. By her side, considering this option. She'd asked trust of him and he was failing to deliver as of that moment. His eyes found hers, and he knew that on many levels she was being genuine. He could feel it just as well as he could see it in her eyes, and he felt compelled to believe her. Still he hesitated.

Bertoldo had remained silent and almost unnaturally still for way too long, and after a while he shifted slightly, reaching for her wrist. His cold, lifeless fingers wrapped around her skin, which was warm and soft to the touch. He felt a pressure in his mouth and before long he realised that his teeth were lengthening in preparation of a meal he was still debating. If he had breath, it might have been laboured in this moment, and his eyes revealed the hunger that the rest of his body could not. His eyes flickered down to her wrist as he stepped forward, tugging lightly in an attempt to force her to stand. When Bertoldo fed, he liked to maintain complete control; he'd pin them, restrict movement so that they were at his mercy. He was wary of doing as much with Erieda. She was a Queen, and she far exceeded him in strength despite the loss her people had only recently suffered. He could only do this if she allowed it. Still, he proceeded to act on his urges and when she was on her feet, he snaked an arm around her and pulled her close; his hand positioned itself between her shoulder blades, while he rose her wrist to his lips. There was still doubt in his mind but he was too far gone to turn back and make a more appropriate choice.

They parted very slowly, revealing fangs that were still perfectly white and looked as if they weren't frequently used to draw blood from other people. Bertoldo moved them into position, and after his gaze flickered back to Erieda, he found himself hesitating yet again, the sick feeling of worry pooling in his stomach, before he finally bit down. The heat of her blood was almost overwhelming in contrast to the mortal blood which made up the entirety of his regular diet, and it was both rich and sweet. He'd tasted nothing like this in his entire lifetime, and it was almost corruptive. Even when he'd had his fill, he couldn't bring himself to pull away, that was until he began feeling - for want of a better term - bloated. His jaw parted and subsequently his teeth withdrew from her skin, leaving open wounds which leaked blood until he ran his tongue over them, sealing them up. He released a slightly audible growl as he stepped back, his hand on his forehead.

In a split second he was at the door, moving through it without looking back at Erieda for a single second. Mr Wells was standing in the hallway, pacing, and when he saw Bertoldo his eyes widened so much that they damn near popped out of his head. "Show the Queen to her room, would you?" he snapped, and Mr Wells nodded nervously. The shorter man appeared in the doorway to the Lord's office and clasped his hands behind his back. "Excuse me, Miss... I've been asked to escort you to the room the Lord had given you, if that's quite alright?" he asked, gesturing down the hallway.

It was a long while before he made any move. He just gaped at her, shock evident on his face, as if he wasn't quite sure what to make of this. If she was lying, and why would she if she had, if she wasn't, then how was this possible. When Erieda first learned of this, it was through an old Baobhan, the woman had been a solitary fae, belonging to neither the Seelie or UnSeelie court, but she knew much about both, it had been her clan that had ventured into the mortal realm when the veil was thin, and introduced vampire virus on to man, thus creating the first vampires, however the claim still seemed highly unlikely. That the reverse could be true. How could something that turned the vampire into what it was turn it back?

Bertoldo shifted then, breaking her from her thoughts and suddenly fear shot through her. She'd endured her fair share of injuries but she'd known what to expect, she'd know what it would feel like when it came, but never before had she'd been bitten by a vampire, she didn't know what to expect and for someone who'd grown accustom to knowing every detail before making a single move, this was not ideal.

His hands were cool on her skin, his eyes capturing hers, in both shock and awe, same as hers, he gave her wrist a gentle but firm tug, indicting that he wanted her to stand. Her heart was racing, and her pulse, she knew was quick. She allowed him to do whatever it was he wanted, standing, and then soon she was pinned between him and the desk.

There was a rush then, one she'd never felt before, as his hand slide around her, and up between her shoulder blades, and held her close. He was cold to the touch, but this, it made her feel warm, on the inside. He rose her wrist to his lips and she swallowed, bracing herself for whatever was to come. She made no move to struggle, even though there was a fair amount of fear along with this sudden - dare she say- arousal, that came from this. She tried to relax as best she could. She asked for this.

Suddenly, his gaze flickered to her eyes once again, as his fang began to fill his lips, and she could see it in his eyes. Doubt. He wasn't sure about this, anymore then she was, or rather had been. Despite the fear, she didn't want this to stop.

She gave a nod of affirmation, and so he proceeded. She closed her eyes, and waited for the pain, but there was only a pinch, and then a sudden flood of euphoria, so much so that her lips parted and she gave a small gasp.

With every sip he took, the more she wanted him to continue, it was as if her eyes had been open and she was finally seeing in color. Her heart was racing, pumping more blood into her veins, giving him more to drink, all the while, she whimpered and moaned.

Then, suddenly, it was over and his tongue dragged over her skin, sending chills up her spine, and then nothing but a carnal growl and Erieda was left, wanting.

She looked at him, wild eyed, and she had half a mind to pull him to her and allow her true nature to take control, but instead, Bertoldo was gone, leaving her to brace herself with the chair he'd pulled out for her. She didn't know what to make of that, but she desperately needed more.

"Excuse me, Miss... I've been asked to escort you to the room the Lord had given you, if that's quite alright?" Mr. Wells said, appearing suddenly and she could barely make out what he was saying.

"What?" She asked, placing a hand on her chest and when he repeated himself, she nodded. "Y-yes, that's fine." She said and she followed him to her room, for which had no windows, no way to see out into the world, but she couldn't be bothered with it now. She needed to sleep, if not, she'd make the mistake of finding the Lord, and what would come next, would not being entirely ideal. Thankfully, sleep greeted her quickly.

The next morning, Erieda awoke, she couldn't see the sun, but she knew it was up, feeling the warmth of it through the wood in the manor. She didn't have time to even remove the clothes she'd worn last night, for her exhaustion. She rose, noticing small drops of blood on her green dress and it all came flooding back. The way his fangs felt in her skin, feel rush and arousal that came with the drawing of her blood. The mere thought of him made her heart race. She took a breath, for no she had a point to make.

She removed the dress, and found a white silk gown prepared for her already. She wasn't sure if she was supposed to wear it to bed, but it would do just as well as any dress. She walked out, barefoot and it was as if she could sense him, she knew where he was, without thinking, it was almost instinct. He had her blood so surely he could feel her as well. As she walked out to the main hall, she found not a soul stirred, why would they? They were creatures of the night, and the sun was their enemy. It was a good thing then that she could sense him, since navigating this place was have been a nightmare.

She found herself at the room with the largest doors, and moved to touch it, only to find that iron blocked her way. The door knobs were made of it, and the door itself was decorated with it. She hissed when her bare skin touched the cool metal and she took a few steps back, cupping her hand.

Why did she not sense it? It still hurt her, but perhaps her hunt for him clouded her mind more then she thought. There was more to this then she knew, and that was not something she allowed. For now, her hand burned and she had no way to heal it from here. She heard shuffling in the room just then and all thoughts of her burn faded and all she wanted was her drug.

After leaving his valet to deal with the Fae Queen, Bertoldo had retreated immediately to his personal study, a room in which he spent the majority of his time during the day, located on the highest floor of the building behind the furthest door on the right side of the corridor. A small, silver plaque against the wood read 'Lord Ettore', which had been there even during his father's rule. Despite the elegance of the rest of his home, the study was rather simple and far from fancy. It held a single desk in the centre, and book shelves against every wall. There were windows, strangely, because he often enjoyed looking out on the streets of a night time. When morning came he would simply draw the curtains to block out the sunlight.

Once the initial shock of his actions had worn off, Bertoldo had allowed himself a moment or two to acknowledge the surge of power he was experiencing. Typically, so late into the night, his skin began to feel tight and uncomfortable, and he would have given anything to pull away the skin that kept him human. As it was, he felt nothing of the sort; he laughed aloud at the thought that perhaps her blood cured him in some way. It was unlike anything he'd felt before in all his countless years of life, and after a few hours he found himself craving more, once the power began to dampen and his skin became tight and itchy once more. He wasn't cured, the effects were only temporary. He felt strongly disappointed, and in his oversensitive state, that disappointment quickly shifted to loud, uncontrollable anger.

By morning, Bertoldo was surrounded by the remains of what used to be a decent collection of old books and diaries he would write in to keep track of his long history, within something that used to be considered a library. Thousands of years worth of information lay scattered across his floor; some shelves had merely toppled over, others had been reduced to planks of wood thrown every which way. Bertoldo leaned against his desk, which had remained as it always had in the centre of the room, seemingly untouched by his rage.

Part of him wondered if Erieda had yet woken, if she'd ever fallen asleep at all. His leg was shaking for what felt like the longest time, indicating his impatience, and after releasing a heavy exhale of breath, he was suddenly standing. Three long strides and he was at the door, hand hovering over the handle, when suddenly her scent filled his nostrils. He stood like a deer caught in headlights, his eyes darting left to right and his nose crinkling, as if trying to determine how close she actually was, before his hand finally made contact with the handle and he was pulling the door open. To his surprise, she was stood before him, dressed only in the night gown he assumed had been given to her for her to sleep in. He couldn't help himself, and looked her up and down, saying nothing for the longest time.

Eventually he cleared his throat, and forced himself to stand a little taller. If he was human, he might have flushed red at the thought of her seeing what he'd done to his study, so he stepped out of the room and closed the door behind himself suddenly. "Erieda," he began with a slight nod. "I... I wasn't expecting a visit," he continued, as if this was any kind of valid excuse to explain away the mess. He remained silent then. Never before had he felt so flustered, normally he did well to keep his composure, even in awkward or dangerous situations. Erieda was something else entirely... Aside from all the business about forming alliance against his Council's wishes, the only thing he could focus on was the events of the night before, and how much he was craving more of her blood, despite not being particularly hungry.

"I do apologize for fleeing so suddenly," Bertoldo spoke up again. "Your blood... It's stronger than anything I'm used to. My emotions were just... all over the place." Despite himself, he reached for her hand with his own without a moment's hesitation, and cupped it with the other. "It was incredibly rude of me... And if there's anything I can do to make it up to you, please do let me know."

She felt him as he moved to the door, and wasn't surprised when he opened it. As he drew closer it was as if she was being drawn herself. She wanted....she just wanted. His eyes appraised her body through the thin gown and her blood ran hot. It took all she had not to reach for him. A touch from him, now...would not fare well.
"Erieda," He said finally, calling her from her more interesting thoughts with a clearing of his throat. He seemed to be just as conflicted as she was. "I...I wasn't expecting a visit,'" He said and she could say nothing. Her eyes only found his, and she wanted so badly to touch hi but she had to control herself, she could not let this...affliction cloud her judgment any further.
Her heart thumped loudly against her chest, and she could barely breathe. She heard the words he was saying but it was as if she was watching herself, watch him with a dazed look in her eyes.
"I do apologize for fleeing so suddenly," He said and again, she said nothing. "Your blood... It's stronger than anything I'm used to. My emotions were just... all over the place."

She would have laughed at that had she not being so drugged, all she managed was a small nod then the unthinkable happened. He reached up, taking her hand and cupping it in his. "It was incredibly rude of me... And if there's anything I can do to make it up to you, please do let me know." He said and Erieda heard herself say "I need you to do it again.>" She said and her mind told her that was a mistake. She did not need this. She couldn't be selfish anymore. Her people needed her healthy body and spirit and this ...this was a drug, like a mortal opiate, the more she had the stronger the control. She did not need this...and yet, she could not lie. Her Fae tongue was unable to tell untruths and the truth is...She needed it. She needed to feel that again.

"I should not want it, but....it seems you have an effect on me as well....and ..." She watched herself move closer to him, she could feel her body radiating allure, she didn't have the strength to hold it back, not now. Perhaps if he did it once more, then perhaps she could build an immunity to it then she could prepare her people, those that wanted to help. Train them in resistance.
"Please." She breathed before she could think better of it and before she knew what happened she was close enough to feel his breath on her skin.

"I need you to do it again."

Bertoldo couldn't help himself, he laughed. It was a short, quiet laugh, barely audible even, but a laugh nonetheless. Of course once the amusement subsided and he realised her request was serious, his expression shifted dramatically into one of confusion mixed with concern.

There was no doubt in his mind that he wanted more of her blood. Not only was it morning, where he could test whether her promise of being exposed to sunlight without harm had any validity, but her blood fuelled him with such power that he'd never felt before. The blood's rich taste aside, that power could be heavily addictive on its own. So yes, he would have given anything to immediately use such an invite to his own advantage, but something was holding him back. She was a Queen, a guest in his home, and although they'd known each for all of a few hours, he'd come to respect her in some small way.

"I should not want it, but... it seems you have an effect on me as well... and..." She continued, before her voice trailed off and she moved closer. Bertoldo visibly tensed, clamping his jaw shut and pursing his lips. He could hear her heart racing, and the thought of consuming more of her blood was causing his fangs to lengthen once more, so much so that they were digging into his lips, threatening to emerge. Something he couldn't quite put his finger on was drawing him closer, causing her to seem more irresistible, and he got the strange feeling that this strong attraction wasn't entirely natural. "Please," she spoke up once more, now close enough that whatever was left of his logic and free thought had dissolved, and the only thing left behind was the uncontrollable desire to sink his teeth in. It was decided then.

"Sir," a familiar voice called from down the hallway as Bertoldo was wrapping his arms around Erieda's waist, drawing her forward to close the small gap left between them. "Sir..." the voice called again, as one hand trailed a path up her back to her shoulder, fingers pulling at the fabric that covered her skin until it slipped a small ways down her arm. "SIR!" Whoever the voice belonged to, they were far too brave for the Vampire's liking. Bertoldo's head snapped up, teeth bared as a feral snarl rose from his throat. The Council member stood frozen at the top of the staircase, as if the sudden display of aggression was one she was not used to seeing from the Lord. It took only a moment for her to turn and flee. Bertoldo was not in any state to think reasonably, but even so, doing this out in the open corridor was too much of a risk.

His hands moved from her back and he grabbed her by the wrist, a little roughly, to lead her back into his study regardless of the mess he'd created and then tried to hide. As soon as the door closed behind them he had her against the wall. The hand on her wrist held her harm against it, and he used the weight of his own body to pin hers in place while he lowered his head to her shoulder once more. His teeth scraped the surface of her skin, before they pierced it with such force that he had a hard time swallowing the blood as it oozed out. He felt it dribbling down his chin, staining the collar of his white shirt, and after only a short time he'd had his fill. His tongue flicked over the wounds to heal them, but even once he'd withdrawn his teeth from her shoulder, he couldn't bring himself to step away. Still pinning her in place, he rested his forehead against the wall and tried to regain his composure, his breathing still laboured.

Before Erieda knew what happened, she was yanked into the next room by the wrist. Lord Bertoldo pinned her against the wall, with his body, the arm he used to pull her was pressed against the wall as well. Erieda barely had time to look at him before he sank his teeth into her skin. Her heart thundered in her chest as she gasped at the first initial pain. Before it had only been a pinch but he wasn't being gentle now and nor did she want him to. Her fingers clenched for a moment before it gave way to the pleasure she was seeking. All she could do was moan against the sensation.

It was over more quickly than her drugged mind would have liked but her logical mind did not want to bleed to death so instead of pulling hm back to her like she almost did. She took this time to take a breath, shivering a little as his tongue dragged across her neck to close the wound. She didn't want to tell him he didn't need to do that, she would heal on her own but it felt much too good.

Still pinned against him, she looked up as he pressed his forehead to the wall. She opened her mouth to speak, still dazed no words formed. She instead licked her lips, dry all of a sudden and tried again. "Bertoldo." She breathed. "Look at me." She whispered but once he did, she couldn't remember what she wanted to say, instead, her hand rose and cupped his cheek, her head tilting as if he was a piece of art she didn't quite understand before she leaned up, capturing his lips before she could think better of it.

"Bertoldo," the Queen whispered. "Look at me."

Bertoldo couldn't bring himself to step away, nor to look her in the eye in that moment. He shook his head a little, and exhaled deeply. He didn't trust himself, her blood was still taking effect and he could feel it fuelling his emotions and heightening them. He couldn't say with any certainty that he wouldn't overstep his boundaries, or at least try to, if he was face-to-face with her. This was a very messy, very unnecessary situation they'd gotten themselves into, taking it a step further wouldn't bode well for either of them.

Once his breathing reached a normal pace and the blood settled a little, Bertoldo knew he couldn't keep her waiting much longer, especially since he still had her pinned to the wall. He shifted only slightly, enough that he could look down at her. This, he soon came to realise, had been a grave mistake on his part. Her hand moved up and cupped his cheek; he felt his breath hitch in his throat suddenly, and without thinking removed his hand from her other wrist, freeing her arm.

Then, all of a sudden, she'd done the one thing he was trying desperately not to. Regardless, had she not caught him a little off guard, he might have moved to meet her. As it was, she pressed her lips to his and he stood stunned for a few seconds, though it felt like an eternity, before he relaxed a little and was soon enough kissing her back. It was unlike before, not rushed and desperate. He felt himself backing away a little, without breaking the kiss, and was uncharacteristically gentle when pulling her forward to meet him. For whatever reason it didn't feel right to have her pinned in place. He'd been treating her like she was his meal, but that wasn't the case anymore.

By this point he had one arm draped around her waist, while the other was raised, fingers working through her hair before the hand settled at the back of her head. He may have been acting considerately before but it was in his nature to maintain some small semblance of control.

He could feel himself wanting to deepen the kiss, and even in this state he was wary of doing so. Instead he broke the kiss, and with his eyes still closed her pressed his forehead against hers. "We shouldn't..." he murmured, although in truth he didn't exactly sound sure of himself. As he spoke, the arm that had been raised was now also around her waist.

Erieda's eyes fluttered closed as she kissed him, she could taste her blood on his lips and it did nothing to deter her from wanting more of him. It was wrong, she knew it was wrong, it was this sort of thing, this kind of selfishness that put her in the state she was in now. She needed to stop...but she wouldn't. Especially not when now he'd relaxed into her embrace, and began kissing her back. She melted into him, moaning softly against his lips as his hand moved to her head, keeping a firm grip there while the other hand snaked around her waist. He was being gentle again and all that was edge her on more.

Just before she began to deepen the kiss, he pulled away, his hand moving from her head to join its twin around her waist. She didn't open her eyes as he pressed his forehead to hers.

"We shouldn't...." He said, but he sounded much like she felt. Reluctant and unsure. She wanted more of him, if she couldn't get him to drink from her, she just had to keep touching him, something but he was right. They shouldn't, they really shouldn't.

"I know." was all she could manage before she lowered her head, shame flushing her cheeks. "I...I'm sorry." She breathed as finally, rational thought arrived in her mind and all that happened replayed in her mind. "I'm sorry." She choked, covering her mouth. "I shouldn't....I shouldn't have done that..." She couldn't meet his gaze. She was a Queen, the Queen of all Fae, as she was acting like a common nymph. "I should go." She whimpered. The Fae needed her, they rely on her, and look at her, being selfish, yet again. She turned to the door, and reached for it, but stopped before her hand touched the iron. She merely dropped her head, not turning toward him. She couldn't trust herself not to look into his eyes and fall all over again. "I...I can't open the door." She told him, her back to him. "Iron." was all the explanation she was going to give at the moment.

As Erieda lowered her head, Bertoldo straightened a little to stand at full height, and looked down at her while she apologized. He felt the sudden urge to speak, to tell her she shouldn't, but for whatever reason he remained completely silent, just gazing down at her. She choked out another apology, at which point his arms began to remove themselves from around her waist, one hovering a little away from her arm as she raised it to cover her mouth. "I shouldn't... I shouldn't have done that..." She continued, to which Bertoldo shook his head, though she hadn't seen it. She wouldn't raise her head to look at him, and he almost moved to lift her chin but again fought the urge, thinking it best not to be so controlling. He didn't know her or her limitations, so he was reluctant to act.

"I should go." Bertoldo felt himself frowning slightly, and he watched on quietly as she turned to the door. To his sudden relief, something seemed to be stopping her as she halted mid-step, hand outstretched but not touching the handle. His head tilted to one side, frown still weighing on his brows. "I... I can't open the door," she told him after a moment. "Iron." Bertoldo hesitated slightly, merely standing there with a confused expression while he took that information in, storing it for later.

Another moment passed, and Bertoldo gave a very gentle sigh, stepping forward. In the process he wiped the remainder of her blood from his chin, before resting his hands on her shoulder. He wouldn't try to turn her just yet, if she was feeling embarrassed then the last thing she might want to do is to look him in the eye. It would take a bit more persuasion, he reckoned.

"Erieda," he spoke in a quiet voice, barely above a whisper, though there was some amusement in his tone, however small. "I didn't mean to upset you... If I did then I offer my sincerest apologies and hope that you would forgive me." He leaned forward slightly and placed a brief kiss atop her head. "I simply meant we shouldn't take it too far, yet... We've known each other for such a short time and it just felt rushed." As he spoke, his hands slid down her arms and before long he was hugging her from behind, placing another kiss against the shoulder he'd been feeding from only a few moments before.

"I'll admit that this is a strange and unexpected turn of events, and it's certainly not something our people would approve of, but for all the consequences that might come from this, I'm not prepared to give you up just yet," he continued, lifting his head just a little. "My sweet, I want you to stay with me for just a little while longer... If we're to do this, I want it to mean something, you know?" There came a short moment of silence, before he donned a more serious tone suddenly, mixed with what could possibly have been worry. "Look at me, Erieda. Look me in the eye and tell me you don't want that too... Just say the words... and I'll back off."

She flinched as his hands rested on her shoulder. She kept her gaze forward and downward.
"Erieda," He began. "I didn't mean to upset you... If I did then I offer my sincerest apologies and hope that you would forgive me." He said and she frowned. He did not understand what this was. he had nothing to do with it. He placed a kiss atop her head, confusing her further I simply meant we shouldn't take it too far, yet... We've known each other for such a short time and it just felt rushed." He said and she was about to turn to gape at him before his hands moved from her arms to around her, pressing him softly against him. She didn't want to melt into him but she did. He did not understand that the words he spoke, while beautiful, were irreverent, she shouldn't have any relationship with him, that wasn't professional, but she couldn't dare speak those words now. He pressed a kiss to the shoulder he'd bitten and she shivered. "I'll admit that this is a strange and unexpected turn of events, and it's certainly not something our people would approve of, but for all the consequences that might come from this, I'm not prepared to give you up just yet," He told her and he sighed. "My sweet, I want you to stay with me for just a little while longer... If we're to do this, I want it to mean something, you know?" He told her and she fought the urge to sob. Her tongue was made of lead it seemed as she could not find the words to speak to him. "Look at me, Erieda. Look me in the eye and tell me you don't want that too... Just say the words... and I'll back off." He said and she sighed before turning to him, though she was having a hard time keeping his gaze. "It is not that, I do not want you, it is that I should not. I came here to protect my people, and here I am yet again, being selfish, wanting only what I want and caring little for anything else." She confessed. "I've become...addicted to you in a way that is dangerous for the both of us, " She said and finally lifted her gaze to meet his eyes and was struck by want all over again. "There is something in your bite, perhaps in my blood as well, that makes it hard to thin of anything else, You could bleed my dry and I would not fight it, my thoughts are consumed by this...drug and it's effect, I've not had a clear thought since the first time and all I've wanted was more and more of you." She said and closed her eyes and pushed from him, not hard but so that she was away. "I should go, truly, not far just to my chambers, I just need to think."

Initially, Bertoldo was relieved that Erieda had turned to face him at last, though it faded some as his eyes traced her features, trying to read her expression. "It is not that I do not want you, it is that I should not. I came here to protect my people, and here I am yet again, being selfish, wanting only what I want and caring little for anything else," she explained, and with each sentence Bertoldo was beginning to understand where this conversation was headed. He took a small breath, and frowned deeply, waiting for her to continue. "I've become... addicted to you in a way that is dangerous for the both of us." Finally their eyes met, if only for a moment, before he found himself looking away. "There is something in your bite, perhaps in my blood as well, that makes it hard to think of anything else. You could bleed me dry and I would not fight it, my thoughts are consumed by this... drug and it's effect, I've not had a clear thought since the first time and all I've wanted was more and more of you."

Before long he could no longer feel her in his arms, and it was at this point that he turned his gaze back to her, jaw clenching as his arms returned to his sides. Nothing she said was unreasonable, nor was it untrue, but for whatever reason she gave, the thought of rejection was making him bitter. It was not something he experienced often, if at all. In part because he rarely ever put himself out there, as he had just done, but also because up until now he had always punched below his weight - for want of a better term. "I should go, truly, not far, just to my chambers, I just need to think," she told him. Bertoldo hadn't shifted his stare until that point, and after a few seconds he merely nodded, walking past her so that he could open the door, which he held to one side. "Well go on then," he replied, his voice once again very quiet, but spiteful in a way she'd never heard from him before.

Bertoldo waited until she was through the door before pushing on it with considerable force, causing it to slam closed behind her.
