Hinsegin High- epitome of the Deep South and as conservative as it gets. We're all outcasts here. Gay, bi, trans- banding together looks like the best plan. Find the courage to stand where you're not welcome. (Realistic roleplay, no magic.)

1,710 readers have visited Outcasts since bandgeek9 created it.

Introduction

Hinsegin Private High School was founded over half a century ago by right-wing zealots who wished to shelter their children from the growing Civil Rights movement. A good deal of its students were raised in conservative, Westboro Baptist Church-esque homes. A few only attend because it's the closest nearby school. Regardless, the place thrives on hate speech and homophobia, making the hallways a legitimately dangerous place for the small underground LGBT community.

2010, after gay rights have significantly progressed in the United States, one student seeks to change the way the school is run, flattening out the hierarchy and rising above a community that will never fully accept him/her.

CHARACTERS NEEDED:
- The revolutionary student. I do not care if this student is male, female, gay, bisexual, trans, etc- as long as they are LGBT.
- At LEAST 5 other LGBT students.
- Other students. May be homophobic.
- Teachers/parents/authority figures.

Toggle Rules

No portraying homophobia in a positive light, thank you. ^^

"If I weren't living with another family already..." Kristin slowly backed out of the hug. Even though Kylynn didn't seem to have a problem with being homeless, she did. If she could, she would take Kylynn home with her, but the most she could do was help her as much as she could to find a place to stay. It really sucks to be living with someone, even if that someone's your best friend, she thought.

The sudden blast of police sirens only made Kristin feel even worse.

Kylynn's eyes widened a bit in surprise at the sound of sirens. Yea there was police and everything but most would think they had more important things to do than crash a semi-illegal rave-ish concert. She took Kristin's and Peter's hands before she started running through bushes and taking out her cell calling someone under one on her speed dial. "Hey! Dommy! I need you to pick me up at 97th St. and fast the rave got busted." She closed it again and looked behind her at the two. "If you guys don't mind there's a place to crash so just run!" She didn't give them much room to talk and started off again looking out for a blue truck.

Just as Jenna caught sight of her new friends, they dashed into the bushes and vanished. Soon afterwards, she heard the sirens and became aware of the frightened screams going on around her. Honestly, at a rave like this, how was she to be expected to know the difference between partying and panicking?

But she hadn't known it was illegal, or even something the police would get involved in. Yet somehow, she was more worried about her parents seeing her in a skirt than her parents finding out she had been at a wild party. They wouldn't have even minded that so much, if it weren't for the fact that there was probably alcohol being served somewhere. She stumbled into the bushes where she had seen the streak of Kristen's hair disappear.

"W-wait, Kylynn!" Kristin yelled after the girl, who was already blending in with the rest of the crowd. "I don't know where to- Gah! Come on, Patricia, we're leaving this joint." Her happiness already being replaced with her usual demeanor, Kristin grabbed her friend's hand and began leading him through the bushes, screams and the very, very beginnings of a riot filling the air. She was almost through to the street when she felt someone touch her shoulder.

Whirling around, her fist prepared to crash into a cop's face, Kristin was met with a girl that looked extremely familiar. She couldn't quite put her finger on where she had seen the other female before, but something that sounded very much like a gunshot exploded very close to the hedges, replacing her curiosity with the need to flee.

"Uh, hey, I'd love to talk, but right now this place is a leeettle crazy so BUH BYE!" Dragging Peter/Patricia into the street, Kristin began a mad dash for their home, not stopping for anything.

...except Peter tripping over a rock and smacking them both into the ground.

Kylynn turned when she heard the thump and cursed her bad luck as she went back to help them both up. She spotted Jeffery in the clothes she had sent him and yelled after him to hurry up. She started dragging Kristin and her friend over out of the way and onto the street making sure that Jeffery was following them. She cut through a few alleys one of them were you had to go through side ways behind a dumpster. When she burst out finally into a busy but strangely quiet street she motioned for the three to follow closely as she made her way to a large blue truck that had tinted windows and a back seat. She pounded her hand on the window until the doors unlocked and she got in waving for the others to do as well. Inside was a woman who's age seemed hard to guess with dirty sneakers and what seemed to be army clothes smoking a cigarette. Kylynn kissed her on the cheek softly like a small child apologizing to his mother and looked at everyone that was still outside. "Dommy said you could come so get in"

Until she had gotten into the truck, everything was a blur to Kristin. All she knew was that Patricia had tripped over something, they had both been knocked to the ground, and then someone began dragging them away. Shaking her head in confusion, Kristin leaned on Peter's shoulder and shut her eyes, feeling extremely tired.

"Pete...Let's...never do that again, okay?" she mumbled.

Peter laughed as he removed his heels. "I was about to say the same thing. Uh, driver lady person...?" He hardly heard Kylynn say her name. "Thanks for the save. Krissy says so, too."

Kristin groaned her approval.
