"Well, I was thinking we could maybe go shopping. Get some clothes for you two." Gwydion replied in answer to Isabells' question. "We can't really go around in this world, searching for the portals, with you sticking out like a sore thumb. Plus we should probably get some supplies for our little expedition. As well as going shopping, I'll be working out where exactly your portals have moved too."
"Sounds like a plan!" grinned Seri, before putting a hand to her mouth as she yawned. "But I'm tired now, we should probably get some rest."
Izzy yawned and layed down on one side of the matress with one of the blankets, " Good night." She yawned pulling the blanket around her. She was too tired to properly get ready for bed but it wasn't like she had brought stuff like her pijamas or toothbrush. It didn't take long for her to get to sleep sh was worn out and tomorrow would be very busy.
Sighing miserably to herself, the green-haired girl put on her jacket and shoes, picked up her rucksack, and tiptoed out of the door before closing it quietly behind her, being careful not to wake anyone. Once outside, she sat down and took out her ukulele and her notebook from her bag. Then she began to play the tune that she had earlier scrawled down, while mumbling the lyrics to herself.
Abruptly the 11-year-old woke up, to the sound of a door opening and her voice being called. Quickly, she got up, grabbed her things and looked over to where the noise was coming from. There, she saw Izzy and instantly she ambled over to her. "Hey, Izzy," she smiled, wiping the sleep out of her eyes, "s'up? Had a nice sleep?" Even though she had had a very short rest, soon Seri felt wide awake and was eager for the day to begin.
He awkwardly stretched and walked over to where Izzy and Seri were standing. "Hmm looks like we need to go shopping even sooner than I thought." He noted looking around the room. He wandered over to the bathroom and returned a few minutes later, looking more awake now.
Pulling on his jacket and shoes and heading over to the door he spoke again. "Well no time like the present I supose, are you girls ready?" He asked. "One minute." Izzy said popping to the bathroom and splashing water on her face then flattening down part of her hair. After she had done that she pulled on her jacket, shoes and backpack. "Done." She said before turning to see if Seri was ready. "How about you Seri?"
"So, where are we going exactly?" inquired Seri excitedly, looking up at Gwydion with curiosity.
"I was thinking we could go to the shopping centre, Yellow Brick Road." replied Gwydion, smiling. "It's got all sorts of shops there, so I'm sure we will be able to acquire all the things we need." The old man led the two girls down several small alleyways, before they reached the high street. There, a monstrous building loomed over them. With total confidence, the withered gentleman pushed his way through the revolving doors and into the gigantic shopping centre. With not quite as much determination, Seri went through the spinning door and gazed around in wonder once she entered the cavernous building.
"I think we'll start with clothes so we don't have to carry the food round up here." Now Izzy was really confused as Gwydion stepped onto some metal stairs but did not begin to start walking up the steps. The stairs moved by themselves, it seemed quite a lazy invention to Izzy but she didn't complain. There was even one going down. As the down moving stiars were empty Izzy decided to try something out, she was curious what would happen. So laughing, she ran up the down stairs going against the way they were moving. She laughed once she reached the top, luckily for her no one seemed to have noticed her little experiment.
Obediently, Seri went off to fetch some nice-looking clothes. Wandering around absent-mindedly, while looking at the spread of garments that surrounded her, she soon ended up in the fancy dress section. There, she found a beautiful dress decorated with fake leaves, presumably a dryad costume. Grinning with joy, she took it off of the rack it was on and put it against herself to see if it would fit. Perfect! Then the young girl noticed there was a mirror conveniently placed in front of her, so she had a look in that. 'This looks fabulous!' she thought to herself, before skipping off in order to find Gwydion and see what his thoughts on it were.
"Well, it certainly is a very nice dress," remarked the smart gentleman, holding the dress out in front of him. "and I'm sure you look very nice in it. However I am not sure it would be the sort of thing you would wear every day. Even so, we can buy it and possibly you could put it on occasionally." Nodding, Seri went off to fetch a more 'every day' outfit.
It was not long before the young girl had found a long, flowery skirt, a long t-shirt with an unusual animal on it, and a pale pink cardigan.
"Thanks." Isabell said happily before wandering back to find something else, a knee-lengthed white and dark blue/purple striped skirt caught her eye. It was quite puffy and Izzy thought it was rather pretty. She found a long-sleeved white top to go with it and some purple 'tights' to go under it. One of the sales people who worked at the shop had pointed them out. When she got back Seri had found a new outfit aswell. Gwydion led them to a calm queue where they waited until a little counter was free. There was a person at each little counter with a wierd box machine. They held each item against a little beeping device until it made a little beep noise. Gwydion then took out a small plastic card after he was told the price in a type of money called 'pounds'. He placed the card in a little machine and typed in some numbers. Then that was it, all he was handed was a bag with the stuff in, he had given nothing to trade the clothes for which was a lot different to what Izzy was used to. "What is that?" She questioned pointing to the card as they walked away. "Its a credit card" Gwydion explained, "It is connected to my bank account where I store my money, and when I type in my pin number which only I know them I can buy stuff anf the money is taken out of my bank account. I made some money from a book I wrote and some articles I have written in science magazines."
"Oh I see." Said Izzy, it was different to her village where they mostly used trading or tokens to get stuff but it made sense.
"Now we can go down to food. Or we could pick up some basic supplies first. We need some tooth paste and stuff like that."
Izzy, who had been fasinated by his description just nodded before carrying on walking again. "That sounds amazing." She finally said. "Thank you, my dear. I was very proud to live there."
"I'll let you each pick two treats, while I go and get the basic foods." stated Gwydion, beginning to walk away from the two girls."But make sure what you get isn't too expensive. After all, I'm not made of money!" The elderly man chuckled to himsel, before turning up an isle and disappearing from sight.
After staring at the space where Gwydion has just been for a couple of seconds, Seri shook her head before looking for something tasty. In the time that she had been in this universe, the young girl had already discovered many new things and was still in a state of slight shock now.Soon she ended up in the pastry section, where she saw a cinnamon whirl that glistened in the lighting. Even though she did not know exactly what it was, the half-dryad licked her lips before taking the item as her first treat. After that she began looking for another one, and almost instantly she came across a large Cadburys' chocolate bar. Not all the food in this universe was recognisable to Seraphina, but chocolate certainly was. Since she loved it ever so much, she took a bar of it and began to search once again for Gwydion.
"Ah, good choice" He commented looking at the items Izzy had chosen. Taking them off her he put them in a basket that was already part full of things, some that Isabell recognised and others she didn't.
Gwydion led the way down a different isle and Izzy spotted Seraphina's long green hair as she walked past the top of the isle they were now half way down. "Seri!" She called out, trying to catch the young girl's attention. She skipped towards her to see what she had picked up.
"Ooh, those look yummy!" he commented kindly, before turning back to look at the shelves of food. Quickly he made up his mind, so off of the shelve he took a box with the words "Earl Grey" written on the side of it. Seraphina was puzzled as to what that meant, but she decided not to ask. Soon the basket was full, so the three of them walked over to a checkout where, once again, Gwydion got out his credit card in order to pay for the items they had collected.
Once that had been done, Izzy, Seri and Gwydion walked out the shop, now with a large bag full of food. "So, I guess we only need to fetch some basic supplies now and then we can head back home!" sighed Gwydion with relief. Then he headed off into yet another department, and obediently Seraphina followed behind.
"Oh, I didn't bring a hairbrush" Izzy put in. "Oh, there are some over there." He pointed to another shelf Izzy got one that was simple but would get the knots out of her hair. He also picked up some bright liquid in bottles, "Right, showergel, shampoo," He said mostly to himself. Izzy recognised the items even though they looked different. "What else...." Gwydion puzzled.
All Gwydion could do was stare down at the half-dryad in confusion, before asking, "What exactly is a losimmu??"
"Oh, you don't have them here? Well that's a shame." sighed Seri, looking up at the old man. "Well you scan all the items you own, label them and then if you ever lose something the losimmu will tell you where it is. They look a bit like...um....'Tablet Pee Sees'." In an understanding way, Gwydion nodded his head slowly.

"Phew," Gwydion sighed once they were out of the shop. "Now that's all done we can head back and take this load home." Carrying some of the bags Izzy followed until they reached the feild with Gwydion's house.
Meanwhile, Gwydion took out the map and his stationary equipment, before wandering over to his study area and sitting down on his hard wooden chair. After that he began to make calculations and scrawl down notes, trying to work out where the childrens' portals had moved to. Seri wanted to help, but it seemed far too complicated for even her. Instead, she decided to rummage around in her bag and see what she could find. In the end, she brought out her ukulele, notepad, pencil case, hairbrush and a small teddy bear named Perky.

Now Izzy, who had also noticed Gwydion working, walked over to her bag on the other side of the matress. There was no way she would be able to help Gwydion with his calculations however she now had the time to make Gwydion that potion for his back. She got out the empty bottle from her bag she checked her spell book for the potion, she didn't really need to as she knew this one off by heart but it was always best to check. I hope they have sage here.. She thought before wandering outside to check. At the edges of the feild were thick plants and bushes she found the sage leaves she needed and some dandelions. Taking them back inside she fetched a plate and crushed them up on it. She then searched through her bag luckily finding a fairly large jar of Jassimint sap, it was a thick clear substance that was also used in a few simple healing potions which is why her mum made sure she had some in her school bag which was the bag she had taken outside even though she had taken out her school books first. She mixed them together before chanting a few words and tapping her wand, a thin black stick, on the side of the plate. It was now a slightly sparkling substance, with little greens bits in it. She poured it carefully into the pot and sighed happily.
