Abilities

"I'm a woman of all sorts of trades."

Levy was considered strange most of her life. While most girls had cute pig tails and pretty dresses, Levy adorned braids and overalls. She would spend all day outside and come home with dirtied hands and clothes, begging her parents to play with her outside. She always enjoyed the outdoors, and as she got older she took up more activities outdoors. Her family would go camping, and with her mother Levy would do all sorts of things; tree climbing, rock climbing, hiking, fishing. Going into high school, less time was spent in nature and more time with her friends. Together they learned parkour, taking their skate boards through the parks and video taping all sorts of stunts combining their skills.

However Levy always stuck to gardening. Her mothers used to say she had a green thumb, and they would all plant flowers in the front of the house. Eventually they created a garden in the backyard with exotic flowers and delectable vegetables. Levy has never had a plant die. Even now she keeps a small cactus that she keeps in a box in her back pack while she's on the move.

Although Levy naturally isn't a violent person, she is extremely tactical. She uses all sorts of vantage points and obstacles as her tools in the fight against Zombies. Mostly using a weapon of opportunity, Levy has certain quirks in her slaughter style that gives her advantage in the war.

In a world where supplies are ever dwindling, Levy has been able to put her resourcefulness to use. She is very good at rationing out supplies and making it last, it's the only way she's lasted so long. She used to have more meat on her bones, but with recent events she has been little more than skin and bones. Levy has a creativity streak that allows her to reuse one object for multiple purposes.

Besides all her outward abilities, Levy is an extremely emotionally supportive person. Her days before the apocalypse Levy was well respected by others. Often her friends turned to her for advice, consolation or just an ear to listen. She has a maternal side to her that easily extends to those around her, and often fusses over the safety of others before her own.

Deficients

"Perfection is overrated."

Although Levy does keep a gun, she rarely uses it. It is a last ditch weapon- in moments of pure desperation. Her aim isn't all that accurate, often taking three or four shots to take down a zombie. She prefers not to waste ammo, instead paring for weapon of opportunity or if there is none, her machete.

Sometimes, Levy has a difficulty expressing herself accurately. Often her words have been misconstrued into some offensive comment, which she doesn't intend to do. Other times she has a hard time getting to the point, often beating around the bush. People have found it irritating before.

Despite her skills tactically, Levy often finds herself trying to take on more than she can handle. She has hero syndrome, putting herself at risk to help others. She has had many close calls, but has yet to be bitten.

Image Personality
"People change, I've changed."

Levy finds herself more and more having to step out of he comfort zone within this new world, it's gotten to the point where she has no boundaries with who she is. Few would call her savage, but she has become less humane, she's accepted.

Levy once considered herself a peaceful girl. She was never the type to raise her voice- more of the type to make you feel crazy for yelling. She handles conflict well, able to control her emotions unlike many others. Very little upsets her, and she is slow to anger. Levy has a tendency to speak her mind openly- but sometimes when she is just expressing her discomfort or displeasure people take it as her being a smart ass and get more riled up.

However Levy normally avoids issues that may cause drama or conflict. She prefers to be kind to most, and civil to the rest. Her parents raised her to be extremely open minded- and Levy has heard from others that they see her as the least judgmental person they might know. She actively tries not to pass judgement on someone too soon. However Levy considers herself incredibly intuitive- if she feels herself getting a bad vibe from an individual, she trusts her instincts. They've kept her alive so far.

Levy's creativity has saved her more than once, she has an abstract way of looking at things, and is the type to look for when you want to think outside of the box. She may not always come up with the best plan, but she's useful in many ways. At first it was hard for Levy to kill the zombies- until she had a break through.

The end of the world has hardened Levy, the things she's seen over the past months have been horrifying, but she grew from them. She once pitied the undead, but now she hates them with a passion for everything they've taken from her.

History

Levy's true birthday remains a mystery to all. At roughly three weeks old, Levy was left swaddled in a floral print blankie and hidden in a basket just outside a hospital. They had no records of her, and no connection to her previous life. It didn't take long for the girl to be adopted by the Carter's, taken in as their own. The Carter's were an intriguing couple, outside of being Lesbians, often filling Levy's days with activities and outdoorsy vacations. In school, occasionally Levy would be teased, the children called her parents hippies. Some of them were confused why she had two mothers.

Levy never let the kids comments phase her, always having been a headstrong girl. She simply applied herself in school and her friends- ignoring the haters. After high school Levy went to college and completed her general education classes before dropping out because she couldn't decide on a major. She was living on her own at age 20, taking on odd jobs just to make it. Her parents always supported her, and when Levy began to pursue music they went to her gigs taking way too many pictures.

When the disease hit, Levy's paternal mother had been in New York for vacation. When she never returned, Levy and her mother accepted their fate. They took off to find refuge once zombies began to show up in towns nearby. Within a week on their own, Levy's mother was bitten. She begged Levy to shoot her, and Levy eventually granted her mothers last wish. When Levy killed her mother, she felt herself die a little too. She had been traveling ever since, all the other members of her original group either were turned and killed, or split off into their own group. Only recently Levy's remaining two partners were killed, leaving her truly alone for the first time. Now she just is left trying to survive on her own.

So begins...

One of the very few advantages to a zombie apocalypse was tons of abandoned houses. Of course Levy took care to clear the house first, blocking all entrances with randomly strewn aside furniture and taking refuge in the spot she deemed the best vantage point. She slept sitting up, so she was still able to see out onto the front yard. Over the months, sleep had become gradually more rare. Now that she was on her own, Levy mostly took short naps through out the day, staying on the move. Up until she crossed more suburban territory, Levy had lived off of fish she caught in the river and various plants.

There had been some canned goods in this house, the first night Levy had feasted on rice and corn. Now the supplies were low and Levy saw it as a time to move. Although it had been nice to shower and wash her clothes in the sink- Levy knew it was only a matter of time before she wouldn't be safe in the house any more.

A thud above her made her jump out of her sleep, aiming the gun in the empty space of air before her. Perhaps she had imagined it. However looking out the window, Levy easily spotted 7 amblers followed by a few crawlers, all headed to the same direction. She knew what that meant, a screamer had spotted human flesh and called its brethren to feast.

She laced up her combat boots, initially they had felt heavy on her feet, despite them not being the standard chunky sort of boots. However wear and tear had beaten up her boots- her only pairs of shoes- and they still held up. They never fell off and always kept her feet safe and warm. After six months battling zombies in these boots, they were like a second skin on her feet now- in no way inhibiting her. Rigging her Sheathed machete across her back, Levy turned on the safety of her gun before tucking it into the waist band of her jean shorts held up by a chunky brown belt. The flowy white blouse hugging her torso made her look a little funny holding the machete and gun tucked into her shorts. Like she was out of place. However she hoisted herself onto the roof of the house, pulling herself out the window, and let her amber colored eyes look over the area. Just a few roofs over she saw some men hopping roofs, no doubt pursuing the same thing as herself. Before she could think twice, Levy chased after them, not sure if she was thirsty for zombie blood or human contact. Either way she was ready to rumble.

Micah Keith

Standing on the edge of the building, Micah peered across the gap at the boy who was doing something rather odd. His eyebrow popped upwards as he watched the stranger chuck what appeared to be pieces of stone down onto the hoard. He couldn't possibly think that would do anything could he? Either this boy was insane or he hadn't had any experience with the walking dead, which given his current predicament was a little more than likely. When the boy turned to pick up more stones, Micah noticed the smile on his face and he sighed heavily. "Yep, definitely crazy," he murmured to himself. Were Aaron up here with him, seeing the things he saw, his older brother would have been gone by now saying something about how the man would probably be better off eaten than mentally unstable. However, Micah just couldn't leave anyone in this situation alone- even someone who had waved back so friendly and nonchalantly to his frantic gestures.

Just as he was contemplating jumping the distance between the building and the house he stood on, something came flying past his head. Whirling around- the rifle on his back bumping against his shoulders- Micah was in the process of drawing the hunting knife at his waist when a slender figure with long hair caught his eye. A quick scan confirmed the fact that she was not one of the living dead and didn't appear to be trying to attack him in anyway. In fact, her attention was completely on the roof he stood across from- her arm extended as if she'd just thrown something heavy across the alley. Before he could say anything to her, a voice from the place she'd just lobbed whatever bit of stone at resounded across to them.

Micah hissed a little as he turned to give the other boy, who was grinning like the idiot he must be, an exasperated look. This boy obviously had no idea what he'd gotten himself into. Not only was he yelling across a living river of zombies, he was flirting. Sometimes he had to admit that maybe his brother's view on the stupidity of humanity wasn't too far off. Quickly he shook off the thought, "Dang- that's not like me at all! Must be spending too much time cooped up with Aaron..." Trying to regain his more caring side, he turned back to the roof- a bit of movement as another girl appeared along the rooftops catching his eye. After he'd tipped an imaginary hat-brim to both of the women, Micah turned back to the other man and gestured over the gap, "Look- if you try hard enough I think you can jump it... and see that truck?" Here he pointed to the large, black Ford parked feet from the writhing mass of flesh, "My brother's down there and I can signal him. We can drop down into the back of it from the next house over and he can take us away from them. Sound like a plan?" At the last question he turned to the two armed girls standing behind him on the skyline, to confirm their ideas.

Aaron McCullough

Watching from the comfort of the front seat, the keys still securely engaged in the ignition as the truck sat idling, Aaron took a long pull on his cigarette before exhaling the smoke out of the tiny crack he'd made from the rolled down window. One thing about zombies was that even though the usually relied on their sense of smell or sight to locate food, a good puff of smoke usually confused them enough to cover the smell of human flesh. Of course, that was just how Aaron justified his self-destructive habits every single time Micah told him it was either a) killing him or b) too much of a risk for them to locate a pack of cigarettes. With the way the former mechanic burned through a pack it seemed like they were going out to locate more at least twice a week, but hey- at least in this post-apocalyptic world they were free. Anyway, it was a habit that he wasn't likely to give up any time soon.

As he puffed away, his grey eyes watched the action happening on the rooftops intently. However, if anything happened to Micah while he was up there, he was royally screwed as he'd taken their long-range weapon with him. The thought made Aaron twist his lips up in agitation and he grumbled aloud, "We need to rectify that as soon as possible..." Of course they had the homemade explosive lining the padded box in the backseat, but those wouldn't do much to protect the boy except keep him from rising again after he died a flaming death. Sending the grim thoughts out the window with another ball of pearly smoke, the man watched the exchange between his brother and the slowly growing group of people standing above the skyline.

Aaron's eyes caught sudden movement as a one of the larger more mobile dead men started up a ramp attached to the side of the idiot who'd started this mess's building. "Shit," he spoke with more than a little laughter in his voice, as he leaned forward against the steering wheel, "That corpsicle's got some brains left." Other than watch as the sucker began to haul his body up toward the rood, Aaron did nothing to stop it. Part of him was hoping that if it got to the guy this whole charade would be over and he and Micah could go back to scavenging. That small hope was dashed, however, as something shot out of nowhere and straight into the head of the deadie. Blinking for a moment it suddenly dawned on him that there was a quarrel sticking out of its head.

Quickly the driver of the truck rolled down the window and leaned out to make it easier to judge the direction from which the shot had come. Breathing hot a wreath of smoke, Aaron peered with squinted eyes toward a wooded area not far from the last house of the row. He could just barely make out a figure standing at the edge of it. The person shouldered their weapon and turned once more to disappear into the trees, and as she did so the man in the truck casually saluted her- even though he knew she couldn't see. "Nice shot Green Arrow," he called as loudly as he dared given the zombies mere feet from him. Then he turned back to the mess his brother had dragged him into.

Benny Vega

Suddenly around her, the number of humans grew, as did the number of zombies. They could smell their flesh across town. Shooting several more, Benny watched as one boy hopped off of the roof and took and exit strategy around from where the hordes of animated corpses ambled down the street. "He's got the right idea." she mumbled to herself, carefully rushing herself to the other side of the building.

However once she hit the ground with a soft thud, nearly stumbling, Benny had no sight on the boy who hopped the roof. Hearing the all to familiar groans and hissing of the zombies behind her, she didn't think much before setting off in a full sprint back to where her four wheeler was parked. In an attempt to avoid wasting bullets, when coming across a member of the endear, Benny would violently use the butt of her weapon to revere them into submission. Finally rounding back to the gas station, she was stunned to see a horde of zombies walking just yards from where she was parked. The truck that had previously been parked there had been moved, verifying that it did belong to a live person.

Carefully she played with the keys she had attached to the wrist band, stretching the elastic so she held the keys in her hand, poised to start the ignition and take off. Counting to three, Benny charged full sprint, only being noticed by three zombies as she started her four wheeler. One managed to get close enough to cause panic, but she released a bullet into its skull, causing it to crumble into a pile of cursed flesh. Speeding off, once more she used the butt of her gun to fend off the undead.

Just like that, she let the only humans she had seen so far fend off the remaining undead on their own. Her four wheeler pushed forward, as sleep began to try and pull her lids low. Any moment now she would need sleep.

Finally reaching where rows of homes offered solace of a secure temporary area, Benny parked her four wheeler in a discreet hiding place. She had ran into scavengers before- the type to rob a fellow human blind to help themselves get by. Filling her backpack with supplies she'd need for the night, Benny brought along her hunting rifle and ammo. Struggling to stay alert, Benny quickly padded across the yards, finally spotting a house that seemed accessible. Meaning to open the door, she was met with a door that wouldn't budge, although it seemed that it was due to a barricade.

Looking through the window, Benny caught a glimpse of a figure, shocked to recognize the boy who jumped off the roof earlier. On one hand she wanted to get his attention so he could let her in, but on the other it seemed like he enjoyed working on his own. Either was she wasn't able to make the decision. A rustling behind her made her spin around, coming face to face with yet another screamer. Watching its face twist into a scream, Benny didn't give the zombie a chance before she pulled the trigger, making the Zombie siren collapse before her- limp.

Levy Carter

Using the hand gun, Levy was able to take out three zombies with five shots. However she hadn't brought along the ammo and she didn't want to waste all her bullets so soon. As others did the same and took leverage on the roofs, Levy hopped down a fire escape to land feet first in a patch of dirt.

Immediately she set off running in the direction of the truck she had seen parked just up the street. If her vision served right, she had seen a sledge hammer in the bed of the pick up. There was a crawler dragging itself across the pavement, Levy wasted another bullet right in the back of the neck as she passed the decaying corpse. There were some slow walkers down the way, giving her enough time to book it to the truck and retrieve the sledgehammer. Using it to bust the back window of the pick up, Levy reached her upper half of her body into the front cabin of the truck. She would look back over her shoulder every few seconds, assuring there wasn't something trying to eat her as she scoured for supplies. There was some gauze in the glove compartment and a small Swedish knife. Stuffing one into either shoe, Levy reassumed a position on top of the truck. As zombies neared her, smelling her flesh, their hands reached out hungrily- trying to make her their meal.

She swung at their skulls, occasionally smashing their greedy hands. Panicked, she saw the number had increased, now a swarm coming at her from two directions. Once she had cleared around the truck, given a window of opportunity Levy hopped out from the truck, booking it down the street. As a zombie crossed her path, as if she was Thor himself, Levy would swing her newfound sledgehammer before they even had a chance. Rounding a corner, a crawler hissed just where she planned to land her foot, making Levy jump with surprise, throwing the sledgehammer down to smash the skull of the zombie into the ground, making her hop over the zombie in the momentum.

This street was more clear, save for about seven amblers and a girl who was fighting them all on their own. Keeping her pace, Levy withdrew her Machete as she approached the line of the undead. "Get low!""She shouted, letting the other girl aware of her presence as she swung after the zombies. Decapitating one, roundhouse kicking the other so he stumbled back, Levy then used the Machete to sever the spine. Trying to distract one more to herself, she hoped the girl could evade the rest of the undead while Levy handled these.

Benny Vega

Benny could think back to a time that she could walk into so much as a store, and walk out with a new friend. She seemed to have the gift of gab, a sweet enough smile to make others comfortable with her. However, standing in the room with the first human she's seen in roughly two months - first male in she didn't even know how long - Benny couldn't fathom anything to say.

As he shifted, his shirt shifted from his abdomen, Benny's eyes eyeing his torso before she could control himself. Luckily his attention had been in buttoning his shirt, in the dim light Benny could see his fore arms were decorated in black ink. As he got closer to the candlelight, illuminating yet another wax flash light, Benny finally got a good look at his face. He looked like the type she would see in a fraternity around the corner from where she stayed in the sorority houses.

She couldn't help but to let her mind wander, how strange it was that if everything was normal again, Benny would've already made some flirty comment or invaded his personal space. An look of amusement came as quick as it when she told him her name, he increasingly seemed like the type to veil his emotions. Finally, he broke the silence again by saying his name was Dre...which was short for Andre.

Benny considered mentioning her name was Benita- but that wasn't much better than Benny. Andre was a nice name, it had a way of rolling off the tongue. She repeated his name to herself, although he probably heard her.

Seeing Andre begin to get comfortable, Benny let herself set down her rifle carefully. She planned on keeping it close in her sleep, that much was sure. However there was the problem of where to sleep. As if reading her mind, Andre mentioned sleep. Suddenly she felt acutely aware of a throbbing head ache. Surprisingly, Andre offered a spot on his makeshift bed, making Benny stumble with her words at first. "T-That'd be nice." wishing she could face palm herself, Benny set down her back pack to rummage through.

Exhaustion would soon get the best of her, but Benny knew she needed the Angels watching over her tonight. Lacking discretion, Benny wrapped her rosary around her right hand, murmuring 'Hail Mary' and 'our Father' while she contained to pull out a blanket she used to cover her legs while she slept. Most of the time Benny slept sitting up, in a locked room, with a gun in her hand.

It felt strange, settling just inches away from Andre, using her backpack as a pillow. "Goodnight....Benny." she heard him say as he turned his back to her. Doing the same, Benny reached out her hand, resting it on her Ruger. "Goodnight, Dre Andre." already sleep was thick in her voice. After that they were silent, only the sound of each others breath filling the room.

Oddly comforted by the sign of human life nearby, Benny found herself falling asleep listening to the soft inhale/exhale of the male just within arms reach of her. The candle light offered somewhat peace of mind as she struggled to keep her eyes open, as if at last minute before she would slip into slumber a member of the undead would hop from the shadows. Praying this wasn't the case, slowly but surely she drifted into the blissful state of sleep. It had been a while since she had someone else to depend on to keep an ear out for trouble. As if knowing this, her body pulled her into the deepest sleep Benny had experienced in months. Unaware of her motions, once she reached the second REM cycle of sleep, her hand drew away from the gun, wrapping her arms around herself to warm herself. Searching for warmth, the slight female's human instincts betrayed her, making her turn to the man who she still was unsure she could trust. She snuggled in against him, blissfully unaware of how uncomfortable of a situation she was putting herself in. Her dreams ruled her mind, soft noises slipping past her slightly parted lips when she would move. But she stayed where she was, against Andre, enjoying the best sleep she'd had for months.

Levy Carter

The girl that had been cornered seem to pick up quickly enough, fighting back the ones Levy hadn't gotten to. Although she was focused on the task on hand, watching the girl out of the corner of her eye. 'Nice' she thought to herself as she swung at the arm of a zombie that managed to catch her off guard just enough to grab ahold of one of her dreads that strayed from their ties.

A hand gripped her wrist, something Levy would usually take as a moment to panic, but the delicate fingers that wrapped around her wrist were warm, the touch from another human was so comforting to Levy she didn't even flinch as the girl tugged her arm and said, "lets go." guiding her toward a row of houses.

She thought back to her supplies, tucked away in the house she had slept in earlier. Being tugged into a house, Levy felt relieved that the girl seemed to be compassionate enough to repay Levy the favor of saving her life in giving Levy temporary shelter. As she complimented Levy's swing, the dread head laughed lightly, "Thanks, it's easy to pick up on." She said, shrugging her shoulders slightly. The girl began to strip before her, throwing aside her bloodied clothes. It would be lying to saw she didn't peek, human curiosity made that impossible, but mostly she kept her eyes averted, looking at the pictures that lines the wall. There were pictures of their family, showing a mother and father and two girls. Twins- perhaps fraternal. They looked too close in age and similar in certain ways to not be, Levy deduced, then looking back to the girl who addressed herself as Adelaide, then Addi. "I hope you don't mind if I call you Adelaide, it's nice. Mine's Levy, with a 'y'..." She let her sentance hang, as if she wasn't sure why she had added that last tid bit. It was a usual way she would introduce herself back when things were normal, but now the quirky greeting seemed outdated.

Then verifying Levy's previous guess that Adelaide was offering her home as temporary shelter, the girl continued to say so, rummaging through her bag and withdrawing a decent sized fish. "Fish is great!" She enthused, nodding her head with a slight smirk. The girl moved into the kitchen, then disappearing for a moment to return speaking into a Walkie talkie. From what Levy could pick up it seemed like it was her sister, the twin from the picture she assumed.

Levy walked into the kitchen once the girl returned, looking over what seemed like a very nice home to raise your children in. How sad now they had to defend zombies from the same home. "You're home is really cute, thanks for lending me shelter." Again she thought of her supplies, "I left my things at this house, when I get to it tomorrow I'm probably going to hunting. Would you be interested in going with?" She asked, eyeing the girl. She seemed young, she was very pretty and friendly. Probably had a fun time in high school. In a way she reminded Levy of herself at that age. Instinctually, already Levy wanted to extend her help to the girl.

As Adelaide got the fish ready she looked over to the girl that introduced herself as Levy "I don't mind if ya call me Adelaide. Half my friends actually called me that since it was different." She gave the other girl a smirk and finished cutting up the meat and put it on a playe. "Gotta go to the living room to cook this up" she said as she put the fish on a plate and headed to the other room.

The living room had a large couch, a chair and a fireplace across from the couch. In the middle of everything was a queen matress that had pillows and blankets covering it. "This is where we sleep, my sister got stuck in another house tonight so you can have the matress ill crash on the couch" she said as she kneeled in front of the fire place and started putting kidling in it to get the fire started.

"And yeah ill go hunting with you tomorrow" she said as she gave a glance behind her to Levy "just need to first get my sister out of a house from the next street over. Its only been us for the last few months but I don't think she would mind if you stayed here...that is if you want though". She put the fish in a makeshift pan that the had over the fire and let it cook.

She stood up and looked over to Levy "uh do you need a change of clothes? I think I have some clothes that would fit you" she picked up her bloody clothes, she went back into the kitchen and put the bloody clothes in one part of the sink and turned the cold water on till the sink was full. She grabbed another plate and went back to the living room to the fireplace then kneeled down and flipped the fish until it was done. After putting the fish on a plate she gave one to Levy "eat up".

She took her plate and went over to the couch, sitting down cross legged she started to eat. She wasn't the best cooke but at this point in time she didn't care what was put in front of her. Food was scarce so she ate whatever they could find.

Benny Vega

Drowsiness suited Andres, Benny noted. For once the guarded expression that he kept was wiped clean, as if the vulnerability of sleeping left him an open book. It only lasted for a moment before he became alert enough to regain his emotionless expression he had held the night before. He drank some water he had tucked under his pillow, reminding Benny of the water she had stashed in her bag. She remained where she was, gathering her thoughts before she decided to get up and start the day.

The early morning rays peeked through the windows, illuminating the room. Leaning against the wall behind her, she sneaked glances at Andre, letting herself really look him over. Her fingers ran over the rosary that she still had wrapped around her arm from her prayers the night before. She brought them to her lips, as if she were telling them a secret, trying to hold herself back from the little devil talking on her shoulder.

As Leah would put it, the caramel skinned young man was "Fooiiiiiiiineeee". He reminded her of a boy named Damion, a man who had lucked out when herself and Leah were incredibly drunk. As he mumbled out that she shouldn't be sorry, standing to his feet and adjusting his clothes, she heard the devil on her should talking a little bit louder. He was at least a foot taller than Benny, something she hadn't remembered from last night. "I get it, it's weird." he said as he rolled up his blanket.

She leaned her head into her right hand, elbow poised on her knee, shaking her head slowly. As he stuffed the blanket into his bag she spoke, "Maybe," she paused, and just as she meant to continue he turned on his heel and disappeared around the corner, wilting Benny rolled her eyes, "But I slept great." She said to herself, almost sarcastically. She reached for her back pack, grabbing her water bottle with one hand and a semi clean rag with another. Hopping to her feet, Benny opened the water and drank the tepid water as she approached the window, peeking out to check if anything was out of place.

She poured a little bit of water onto the rag, then bringing the bottle back to her lips. Benny had once been a hygiene snob, now degraded to baths in the river on occasions and freshening up with a clean rag and water when she got the chance. On the chance Andre would walk in on her in a compromising position, she walked into a hall on her left, leading into the kitchen. Wiping the grime from her face first, Benny ran her eyes over the pictures pinned to the refrigerator. There were poorly colored in sheets torn from a coloring book, toothy smiles of sons, nieces, daughters, cousins. It almost saddened her, but she ignored dwelling on the fact that these young children were most likely dead.

Returning to her supplies, put away her water bottle and withdrawing a soft, blue racer back tank top from her bag. She set it down, stripping out of her shirt so she stood in her leggings and sports bra, using her soiled shirt to wipe down her arms and torso once more. Andre returned as she was neatly putting the shirt at the bottom of the bag, and her blanket on top of it.

Before she even registered the gun, he explained it's origin. Nodding, Benny slipped into the tank that was just a little too big on the girl, listening to Andre as he spoke. "Yea, guns are great." She said grimly, searching for her hair tie on the floor. Once she retrieved it, Benny gathered all her locks, once again piling it on top of her head and tying it into a secure bun. The usual stray hairs fell around her temples at the nape, baby curls forming.

Retying her shoes, Benny thought about what to do today. Did Andre plan on going on his own again? Did she plan on going on her own? She found herself wanting to stay around Andre, looking to him as she brought herself upright. "Are you a camper or a roamer?" Some anti-apocalyptic slang for you, some one who had a destination in mind Benny typed as a roamer, Camper's included those who just lived to survive and hop camp to camp. She pulled on her back pack, biting her lip as a nervous habit.

The girl redirected them into the living room, saying they had to cook the fish there. Seeing the fire place upon entry, she nodded, understanding what the girl meant. As Adelaide went on to explain that herself and her sister camped there, Levy got comfortable on one of the plushy couches. "It's a sweet little spot. It's great you guys have been able to stay here." She thought to her own journey- constantly moving. It probably felt nice to settle down and set roots in this world.

Again, Adelaide seemed to have read Levy's mind, offering Levy to crash at the house indefinitely. Her mind tumbled over the choice, how nice it was to see another human again. It seemed like there were a few in this area. Was it some sort of village, resorting back to more barbaric times? Finally Levy nodded, smiling briefly, "Thanks, that'd be nice, if only for a little bit." She didn't want to overstay her welcome.

As if grabbing her own clothes spurred the question, Adelaide left the fish cooking as she disappeared into the kitchen once more, asking if Levy needed clothes. They seemed about the same size, except Levy's narrow hips resembled one of a twelve year old boy. She looked down to her own clothes, which she had been in for two solid days, dirtied and blood spattered. "Clothes would be nice." She said, amused.

When Adelaide returned to hand her a plate, a low rumble sounding from her stomach. She used her fingers, digging into the soft flesh of the fish. Immediately her tummy was calmed, "Perfect." She complimented Adelaide with a wink and a smile. Once again the girl had disappeared to fetch clothes for Levy, and when she returned Levy had already gone to the kitchen and rinsed off her plate. "Thank you." She said with a smile, accepting the clothes and changing where she stood. Unlike Adelaide who still had the soft curves of a female, Levy didn't mind changing in front of others because there wasn't much to look at. She had lost at least 20 pounds, which is a lot when you are already small. Her sinewy arms were tanned, her prominent muscles twitching as she pulled on her clothes.

Throwing her clothes in the corner of the room, she settled back onto the couch. It would most likely be where she slept. mmm, sleep she thought to herself, resting her head on the arm of the couch. "It's about that time, for me at least." She said, yawning as she stretched her arms over her head. "Daybreak we should move out." She suggested, snuggling into the throw pillow as she drifted into the realm of sleep.

As Adelaide brought the clothes back for Levy she watched as the girl peeled off her clothes, it was a few minutes before she noticed she was staring. Even though Levy was skinny Adelaide didn't care, she still thought Levy was pretty. She quickly averted her eyes and went over to the fire, she put a couple logs on to keep the fire going over night and shut the door of the screen. She climbed into bed, laying down she faced towards Levy and looked to the girl with dreads. "Goodnight Levy" she whispered as she saw the girl was already out.

She rolled onto her back and faced the ceiling, she knew it was going to be a long night, she was too worried about Z to sleep. She got up, grabbing Levy's clothes she went into the kitchen and put the clothes in the sink. She made sure the drain was plugged then turned on the water and put some laundry soap in the sink. She hummed to herself as she scrubbed the clothes with a scrub brush. About thirty minutes later she hung the clothes on a line of rope Zaila and her put up awhile ago.

Once the laundry was done she cleaned up the dinner dishes and made sure the house was picked up. It was an hour and a half later from when Levy fell asleep that Adelaide laid back down. Her mind just would not shut itself off and she knew she was going to need sleep if she planned to function later in the day. She was just so used to having Zaila laying next to her, it was kind of a comfort thing for her. Grabbing another pillow she curled her body around it ans hugged it tight, closing her eyes her mind finally shutdown and fell into a deep sleep.

A few hours later the sun shown threw some of cracks of the boards in the windows. Addi wasn't usually one to wake up on her own, Z was always first one up always having to shake Adelaide to wake her. So it wasn't anything new that Adelaide was still asleep, she was still curled up around the pillow just as she was when she fell asleep that night.

"You sound pretty confident in yourself, ma."

She averted her gaze to the floor, smiling to herself. She remembered her friends in middle school through high school would complain how they wish they were more confident, like Benny. She didn't see herself as confident, more like headstrong. Sometimes her assertive personality could intimidate others, but Andre seemed like he could keep up.

"Seems like you don't need a partner in crime."

'No, but I need someone to hold me like you did last night' she thought to herself. She would never admit the comfort in the arms of Andre. It was like her body after all that time alone had finally felt whole with another warm body holding her, allowing her to recharge fully.

"I can't leave yet anyways. Gotta' get more supplies and clothes."

She nodded in understanding, hoisting herself to sit on top of the kitchen counter, kicking the heel of her sneaker gently against the pantry. It would be best if she hit the closest gas station- that much she knew. Mentally she ran through a list of supplies she had stashed in the four wheeler.
    -1 fishing rod
    -4 red gasoline gallon tanks
    -2 gallon jugs of water
    -2 sleeping bags
    -6 boxes of bullets
-1 container of dried deer jerky
    -1 container of berries
    -4 shirts
    - shorts, cargo pants, sweat pants
    -various under garments
    -Rope
-Knife set (for all sorts of uses)
-Shampoo and body wash she managed to find
    -Toilet paper
    -hiking boots
    -1 small tent - camouflage

That was all she could think of off hand. She couldn't remember a time she hadn't felt prepared. Her and Leah had a problem of feeling like they needed to over compensate in order to survive, young and pretty girls were normally one of the first to go in a horror movie. They learned a lot with the first group they joined - there were eight others not including the sister who still remained with them from the dorms.

There was an older couple who led them, teaching everyone all they needed to know. Benny wished the best for those people, they were the main reason she was alive now. She wondered what Andre's adventure had been so far. Either way she knew she wanted his path to join hers, if only for a little longer. "Confidence is key." She said vaguely, her eyes surveying the room. She crossed one leg over another, "I'm just saying, we could help each other out. But, if you'd rather go on your own or try your luck with someone else, go ahead....I just don't want you to think you have some entitlement to help me by some Gentleman's code or something." Benny explained, she didn't want to be someone's charity case.

The way she saw it, Benny was the one who's dad took her shooting in the woods, Benny was the one with the Ruger, Benny was the one who had a mode of transportation. Andre had a gun he'd ripped from a suicide victims decaying hand and a dull knife. The way she saw it, she would be doing him the favor, not the other way around. But she didn't intend to let him onto her supply stash until the time came. For now the girl hopped back onto her feet, going into the next room to where her back pack laid. From it she withdrew a hand held advice - it was powered by the battery that charged by setting it in the sun for 4-6 hours throughout the day. It's small speaker broadcasted mostly static, but Benny still ran through the radio channels every day in the hopes to hear something. She turned on the advice, noting by the small compass conveniently installed in the device that she was facing North. As if it was an omen of good luck to turned her back to the window, facing the south as she hoped for a message.

(Maria feel free to make up a broadcast on the radio if you should so please))

Levy Carter

Levy felt safe in the house that Adelaide had grown up in, drifting into a deep sleep. Her emerald green eyes snapped open in sudden self-awareness, immediately alert and ready to start her day. Stirring from her postition on the couch, Levy brought herself upright, hanging her legs over the edge of the cushion. Adelaide remained dormant on the mattress, her face turned away from Levy. Tying her dreads back into braids away from her face, then weaving her dreads back into an intricate braid she had learned to do by hours of solitude. Silent as a cat, she tip toed into the kitchen, seeing that dawn had already past and it was probably early morning. Damn, I slept that long? she asked herself, shaking her head as she chuckled. It had been a long time since she let herself sleep like that.

She smacked her lips, noticing how dry her mouth was. Trying for the faucet she was amazed when the water ran. Yes, shower! she thought with a smile. Bringing her lips to the stream of water, Levy slurped the water generously. After some time she stood straight, using her forearm as a napkin. She treaded back into the living room, feeling lost without her belongings. Adelaide seemed to be rousing from her own realm of dreams, Levy crooned softly "Wake up sleepy head."

Adelaide was tossing and turning when she awoke to movement around her, her heartbeat was fastly drumming against her chest as she looked up to see Levy standing over her. She quickly moved a sitting position and took a few moment to take a couple deep breaths. Once her heart beat slowed down she looked up to Levy "how did you sleep?" she asked as she stood up, there was dark circles under her eyes from the lack of sleep. "I washed your clothes for you, they are probably still wet so you can just borrow some of my clothes" she looked up as she finished making the makeshift bed "just follow me".

She headed upstairs and down the hallway, opening the door to the second door on the left. On the front of the door there was a sign that said "Caution is Advised". The walls were painted black but in white chalk there was poems, quotes, and words that decorated the walls. You could instantly tell the room was a teenagers, clothes were scattered around the room, posters were nailed up on the ceiling, a laptop was sitting closed on the desk. Adelaide hasn't really moved anything since the day the zombies decided to take over except she has added more writing to the walls.

"Okay so I have clothes in the dresser and my closet, you can choose anything" she went over to the closet and pulled out a pair of tan cargo pants , a black vest, and a navy long sleeve shirt. She laid the clothes on her bed and stripped of her night clothes then got dressed. She sat down and started putting socks on "so i'll get a hold of Z, see if she needs any help getting home, if she doesn't we can head straight to your place to get your things, come back here if you need to drop stuff off then head out to hunt. How does that sound?" She finished putting on her socks and boots then stood up "only thing about hunting I really don't like using a gun, attracts too much attention ya know? Imma head downstairs and get my pack ready then contact Z".

She left Levy in the bedroom but she couldn't help it as she snuck a look back to see if Levy got undressed yet, she thought she may have caught Levy's eyes so she quickly went back downstairs and into the kitchen where her pack was. She took out her walkie and spoke into it "Z you there? you okay getting home on your own? I have met someone and gonna go do some hunting with them". A few minutes later she heard Z's voice "I am good, I can get home fine. Becareful, be at the house at four". Adelaide smiled "love you sis, be safe and see you tonight" she turned the walkie down and put it in her pack. She put her hitam on her back then her pack and went over to the door to wait for Levy.

Despite being called sleepy head, the dark circles under Adelaide's eyes said differently. Cursing herself for not remaining quiet and allowing the girl to sleep, Adelaide asked how Levy's sleep was. "Actually really great, Thanks again for letting me stay in your home." Her tone was sticky sweet, truly grateful for the luxury of a home that Adelaide provides. She had forgotten about her clothes until Adelaide mentioned washing them, Levy laughed mildly. "That must be why look like you still need a few hours of sleep." She joked, looking down to the soft sweat pants and tank top Adelaide had loaned her the night before. Although comfy, they weren't the best option for fighting.

She followed Adelaide up the stairs and into a room with chalk board paint and writing all over the walls. Letting her emerald jewels take in every detail, Levy was fascinated by the decor. Her parents were very into self expression, both her mothers always let Levy pick her own outfits even as a child, and also paint her own room. If her home in Maine was still intact her walls would be a multicolored mural herself and friends had painted. Reading some of the poems on the walls she was reminded of her book of songs that she kept in her backpack. It seemed trivial to be interested in poems and lyrics when the world has fallen to pieces, but it was comforting to see that she wasn't the only one.

Directing Levy to where her clothes were to be found, Adelaide withdrew an outfit to change into, intriguing Levy. Although in her time Levy had been considered a tomboy, she was still a girl who enjoyed wardrobe choices. The very few clothes she managed to keep over the months were mostly ripped or stained somehow. Poking through the drawers she found a pair of gray leggings, pairing it with a a long soft gray tee and a thin hunter green jacket made of some resistant material.

She listened to Adelaide as she talked about what they should do with their day. "Yeah my aim isn't that great- I can barely hit a zombie that has to crawl to make it across the ground, let alone a fast ass animal." Levy admitted, reading one of the poems on the wall.

Adelaide left once more, leaving Levy to read the walls as she changed. There was no names under most of the poems, she wondered if they were originals. Once she was fully dressed she pulled her boots back on she treaded down the stairs to see Adelaide poised at the door. "Oh, we're waiting on me?" She asked, then rushing to rig her machete back onto her back and tucking the gun into her boot, tying the laces tight and tucking the clip into the other boot. Tying her shoes she looked at Adelaide curiously, "Were the poems on the wall upstairs yours?" She asked.

Adelaide Korbeil

Adelaide leaned against the wall as she waited for Levy, a few different things going through her mind. Her thoughts went to what Levy said earlier about looking like she needed more sleep, she thought her restless sleep and her ache for drugs but she didn't want to spill everything to a girl she just met last night, anyways she didn't want to seem weak. As she heard footsteps coming down the stairs she looked up to see Levy walking down, commenting about her waiting, she just shook her head "nah take your time, my sister said she didn't need any help so we can go get your stuff" she said as she watched the girl get her weapons and tie up her boots.

When Levy asked about the poems on her wall she looked down at her boots, she seemed to be thinking for a few minutes before looking over to Levy "gotta get my words out somehow, before everything went down to shit I used to only write in secret, didn't let anyone see. The walls used to be covered in just bullshit my friends and I would write when we were high and shit but a few months back I just started writing my poetry on the walls. My sister never goes in there so your like the first to see them". She looked away and coughed "think we shouls get going now".

She took down the boards covering the door and unbolted it as she slowly opened the door and peeked out, there was one or two of the amblers on the street but other then that it was pretty quiet. "We got two out there but they are a ways down, pretty quiet I must say. Hopefulmy whoever was dumb to attract a screamer yesterday won't do it again".

She opened the door more and crept outside, looking back towards Levy "which way is the place you were crashing? I have lived in this town all my life and I would have remembered if I saw you before" she said with a smirk as she continued to walk "so where are you originally from?" She wanted to get to know the girl that is pretty much a stranger to her but alao the only social contact other than Z that she has had in awhile. "By the way how old are you? Im seventeen but ill be eighteen soon but I guess age doesn't really matter any more huh?"

Benny Vega

Pressing her back against the house, Benny watched as Andre was able to use his arm to knock down both of their admirers to get the advantage. Wielding the weapon, Andre was able to take out both of the undead members before Benny even had to lift a finger. In some weird scary movie kind if way, rugged and blood spattered Andre was even more appealing than he was inside the house. It seemed like he really didn't need Benny, despite her preparedness.

She lowered her rifle, just staring at him as he straightened himself. A scream directed his attention, Benny instead rigged her gun onto her back and withdrew a knife from her bag. "I've been seeing screamers more and more lately. It's starting to be ridiculous." She said, still looking at him with a certain glint in her eyes. It was oddly arousing to see him slaughter those zombies so easily. The very same hands that had been on her only minutes ago were now a weapon, and it made her want his hands on her all over again.

Shaking her head, Benny began to where she had hidden her four wheeler. After months of living off of spare moments of sleep, whatever meat you hunted and pure adrenaline it was like now that she was around someone she found herself compatible with it was like she was a little girl again. Now was not the time to let herself get distracted by a handsome smile and undeniable heat - that was how you got yourself killed.

Walking alongside him, Benny kept her eyes up, alert for any threats. "It's so hott!" She complained, her elegant fingers gathering the fabric of her soft blue tank, tying it in a knot so that it fell above her waist. Mindlessly she ran a hand over her tanned stomach, then using the same hand to skim across the top of her leggings - wishing she had worn shorts. "I don't know why I'm complaining, you'd think being from El Paso would make me used to this heat." She said in a low voice, rounding the corner to where her four wheeler sat; waiting for her.

Hesitantly she began to fidget with her keys, "Now, I will kill you if you try to steal this thing from me." Although he humor was intentional, the darkness of it's honesty made it a bit of a grim statement. Dangling the keys, she waited for him to attempt to reach for it before snatching it back again, "Nuh-uh, not so quick. You've got to prove you're a good boy!" She said, teasing the boy. Already she had fallen into the trap of enjoying their banter. It was fun and refreshing - a warm beacon in their cold world. Plus he had a cool demeanor that would've interested her pre or post apocalyptic. Twisting her hand that held the keys so they were behind her back, her lips twisted into a cute smirk. "Come on papí, show me how good you are." She toyed.

Levy Carter

Adelaide reminded Levy of herself when she was younger in someways. Like Levy she hadn't seem to grow bitter and hopeless like so many others had in this world. She thought back to the poems again, "They're very beautiful, I've never written a poem - although lyrics are considered a type of poem..." Drifting into thought, the girl fixed a dread that strayed from the braid, tying it back. Some people that Levy had met along the journey in this post apocalyptic world had asked how Levy's hair had all gone into such nice dreadlocks during this time. It was funny to her how people would just assume she hadn't had the dread locks before the undead ruled their lives. It just came in handy now that she liked dread locks before.

Adelaide peeked out the door, Levy did the same, standing behind the girl. She hadn't seen anything but Adelaide let Levy know there were a couple of walkers. The undead beings weren't very fast, but goddamn every time you got close enough their reflexes were unreal. It was understandable, if she were a zombie she would save up all her energy until there was hope for the ever nutritious human flesh. Pinching her own reflecting her thoughts, Levy nodded. "Yea it was behind an auto shop, in a green house." She answered, although she wouldn't need direction to the house. Levy was pretty good at retracing her steps. She had taken to noticing distinguishing pieces at each turn as a way to direct herself - old school mapquest so to speak.

As they entered into the daylight, Adelaide asked her questions, Levy kept her eyes alert for any lurking monsters. Their voices were low, and it almost felt like a darkly humorous situation, two girls getting to know each other as together they strategize to disable an undead gang that threatened their path. Levy found a withered political campaign sign posted into the neighboring lawn. The spoke was plastic but about a foot long and sharp enough to penetrate the rotting flesh of a zombie with enough force. "I grew up in Maine, I was trying to get my music out there but.....not everyone gets their big break I guess." She answered, spotting a crawler just beyond the hedges in the yard behind the amblers. Crouching briefly she grabbed her gun, gripping it tightly.

She wasn't too surprised at Adelaide's age, although she was expecting her to be closer to 20, 21. "Ahh you're a baby." Although it might seem like a cheeky, even condescending comment to some one, her sweet tone and smile was evidence she meant no harm. "I'm twenty five, doesn't feel like it though. One day you're eighteen and tripping on some shrooms," she staked the zombie in the sternum, then swinging her arm to hit his cranium with the butt of the gun. He stumbled aside, groaning with discomfort.

Before he could regain his balance, Levy kicked him between his shoulder blades, knocking him flat on the ground. Although the girl was slight, as she thudded her combat boot onto the skull that rested on the curb of the street, the weak tissue easily broke under her force. A sickening squelsh verified that much. As the skull was compressed between the concrete curb and her weight, it's brain matter seemed to pop like a water balloon, spattering onto her other leg.

Assuming that Adelaide could handle the other ambler, Levy approached the crawler she had seen, picking up a garden gnome that had been thrown aside in admist of the world ending. She chucked it at the head of the crawler, making it fall temporarily, using it as an opportunity to stomp on the back of her neck - severing it from its body. She kicked it's head like it was soccer ball, aiming it away from the body.

Seeing that Adelaide had slain her own share, Levy gave a thumbs up. "Alright girl, we got this." She enthused. As if a bad omen - a screech ripped through the air. It was inhuman, menacing, a call for human flesh. It sounded like it came from the direction of the woods. "Well I feel bad for whoever set off that screamer." Levy squinted into the sun, making a 360 to assure no zombies could creep up on her.

Adelaide Korbeil

Adelaide was suprised someone else hasn't really given up on things they enjoyed before everything went downhill "lyrics...thats cool" she said with a smile as she walked down the steps. "Autoshop isn't too far from here, a couple blocks the most." Her eyes went to the amblers, she had learned a few months back its best to sneak up on them before they knew you were there. Stealth was a big thing in this new world of theirs. "Never been anywhere but Maryland, my parents weren't big travelers" thoughts of her parents made her grimace. Even though they were hard on her she missed them. Shaking her head her attention went back to Levy, the girl was talking about their ages and she was suprised to hear how old the girl was.

"Yeah im young but hey you don't look twenty-five, I pegged you for like twenty-one" at the mention of shrooms she grinned "you did shrooms? I loved them, my friends and I used to do so much before this shit happened" she waved her hands over to the amblers. Sure enough before anymore conversation could happen they had to take care of business.

She watched Levy take care of an ambler for a moment before she turned to one that was near a lightpost. Grabbing her knife she stalked over it, coming from behind she put her arms around the post and the zombie and put the handle of the knife to its kneck, she pulled. The ambler was grabbing at her arms but she kept pulling, hearing the rips of skin the knife caved into the kneck of the zombie. Bring her foot up againt the lamp post she leaned back and grunted a little and pulled harder until the head popped off with a sickening rip of skin and rolled to the ground. The body flopped to the ground but her attention went to the head. The mouth was still moving, it looked like it was trying to eat the air. She brought the hilt of her hitam right down inbetween the eyes of the zombie, blood seeped onto the hilt and ont the bottom of her hand "ugh" she could never get used to the feeling of the disgusting flesh of the dead.

She looked over to Levy just as the other girl kicked a head across the street "playing some soccer?" she grinned wiping her hitam of her pants then put it back in its holder then wiped her hands on her jeans. An ear piercing scream came from the forest, turning around she looked to the forest. All she could think about was Tara, she hoped the girl wasn't the one to set of the screamer "yeah those things are deadly" she said as she looked back to Levy. As soon as she was facing the girl an ambler was creeping up to Levy "watch out!"

She ran and pushed Levy out of the way, taking out her hitam once more she sliced the sharp blade down the amblers arm that was reaching for Levy. She kicked out at its legs making it stumble and tripping over itself. Once it was down on the ground Adelaide jumped on it and brought the blade right down into the face of the ambler, she kept stabbing at it until there was no movement. Getting up she looked to Levy, a few specks of blood were now showered on her face "that was close, we should get off the road, take the back way." She was soon leading them between houses away from the forest which she could now see a few amblers and crawlers heading that way.

Levy Carter

Adelaide seemed to handle her own well enough, a rare trait nowadays. Maybe due to time and battle the human race had dwindled down to the few and the best - the survivors. They had to be vicious and cruel to the enemy because it was the only way to remain alive. As the girl made a joke, Levy laughed carelessly, letting her guard down only for a moment. That was all one would need though, that one moment of opportunity. As if a good omen to their newfound liaisons, Adelaide sprung to Levy's blind spot where an ambler had almost managed to catch her in a compromising situation.

She watched Adelaide brutally slay the corpse, crimson spattering across her cream complexion. Shocked that she had let herself almost be so vulnerable, Levy's eyes widened - "I can't believe I let that thing sneak up on me," she referred to the zombie with disgust, "I owe you big, just know I got your back." Perhaps people forgot about basic principles and didn't appreciate one saving their life as much as they should, Levy was not one of those people. Adelaide had just proven to Levy to be the type of person she could depend in this post apocalyptic days they had found themselves in. Nothing happened without a reason, Levy was meant to meet Adelaide and further more survive by teaming up with Adelaide. She knew she could only do so much on her own.

Nodding in agreement that they take the back way, Levy followed the girl around the back trail. Not extremely familiar with the shortcuts and back trails of this town, Levy allowed Adelaide to take the lead. She found a brick that had broken off of a building, carrying it as they kept a quick pace. Her stomach grumbled, making her remember the berries she has in her backpack. "This is the house." Levy said as the house she had found refuge in two nights ago came into view. Picking up the pace, Levy ran past Adelaide, rounding a corner into an alley.

She knew she should've checked first, but over eager Levy had avoided the precaution to clear a corner before exposing oneself to what might be hidden behind that blind spot. hseeeuuuuuussssssuueehhh the venomous hiss was heard before Levy heard the source, noticing a crawler by her feet at last minute. Without so much as a squeak, Levy threw the brick down onto the cranium of the being - brain matter splattering onto her ankle. Cursing to herself, she counted her blessings that she had managed to save herself. Looking back to Adelaide, she shook her head at herself. "I'm going to climb up this ladder that goes up to the room i slept in, some sort of fire escape. I'll be right out." Levy assured, then running around to the side of the house.

Her nerves on edge from the crawler in the alley, Levy was acutely aware of her surroundings as she pulled herself up the side of the house. The ladder to the upstairs room was what had attracted Levy to the home initially, a convenience. Once she pulled herself into the window she was relieved to see her belongings all accounted for. Repacking her things, Levy drank the warm water from her canteen and ate a handful of berries before readjusting all her things so she could comfortably maneuver with the bag and machete adjusted on her back. Loading the clip into the handgun, Levy descended down the ladder, jogging back to where she had left Adelaide. "Alright I'm good, are we hunting now or did we need to get supplies...?" She hadn't remembered if Adelaide hade mentioned plans for the day earlier or not. Levy had began burning brain cells at a young age with phycadellic drugs, even now her memory faltered at times. Adelaide seemed like the type to understand anyways, and Levy already felt comfortable with the pretty, young girl. Her stomach rumbled, smirking Levy tapped her fingers over her stomach "Sorry a little hungry." Her cheeks flushed with mild embarrassment.

Benny Vega

She hadn't expected a thank you from Andre, if survivors had to exchange thank yous every time they saved each others lives - it would be a lot of time wasted. Besides his expression was thank you enough, a combination of desire and indebtedness. Although she should've cared more about where he was driving her prized possession to, but honestly she was enjoying the ride. Here was this handsome young man who was sure to drive her crazy, but there was something outside of the post apocalyptic appeal that made her drawn to him like a moth to a flame. The off road terrain provided a bumpy ride, knocking Benny off balance and causing her to steady herself by gently placing her hand on his thigh. The invasion of his personal was unintentional, and Benny didn't acknowledge it much, paying more attention to their surroundings.

As the beach came into view, Benny's eyes lit up. The beach brought back memories of happier times, most of them including freshman year spring break. Man, that had been a crazy blur of tequila, marijuana and ecstasy. Withdrawing her sunglasses from the glove box, Benny then undid the bun on top of her, letting the fading honey blonde locks fall to her mid back before gathering it all into a loose ponytail leaving out some hair in front of her face. The salty sea air offered a breeze, whipping her hair around her face.

Sneaking glances to Andre, his clear complexion seemed almost luminescent in the glittering sunlight. His serious eyes set forward, Benny's eyes traced his aristocratic profile. She hated how serious he was, yet his somber guise only made her entertain different ways she could make his expression twist into one of eroticism and euphoria. Benny could wonder why she found herself enraptured by the mixed boy, but honestly if Benny would've met Andre under different circumstances she genuinely believed the two of them would be doing the exact same dance.

ImageThey were too similar, both players in the sick game God called life. He commented about how her origins explained her skin, Benny smirked. A girlish melodic laugh was accompanied with her shaking her head. "Funny you say that, my mom's a morena, like straight up. She is - was.. - is so dark....." Her tone had begun in humor, beginning to go into a tangent how her father was pale as a ghost and that her mother often was mistaken as African American not Cuban, but the confusion of accepting her family's fate or retaining hope let her sentence die along with her story, rendering her into silence as Andre explained that he wanted to visit the boat before taking off.

She nodded in agreement, at this point not even entertaining the idea that he could be plotting against her. Andre seemed as interested in her and she was in him, and although Benny wasn't expecting to find a silver lining in this bleak existence her life had resulted to - maybe finding Andre was the silver lining. As he put the ATV in park and rounded to her side, Benny thought What a gentleman humorously. Taking his hand as he offered it, Benny took a deep breath of the salty air, comforted by it. "Nineteen, I was going to school up here when everything went down." She explained, letting her hand fall from his and to his side.

Walking alongside him to the large ship, Benny felt her hand bump against his a couple times, every time igniting a burn in her chest and glance to Andre out of the corner of her eyes. It all felt so new and comforting, but Benny still found herself worrying a little of the predicament she was getting herself into. A partnership with Andre could be a great thing, but romantic relations could make things messy. She had a strange feeling already that they would develop a bizarre bond, with unusual limitations or rules. Yet knowing this, Benny still wanted to live along side him, already he had proven helpful.

Following him through the ship, Benny's hands ran over the woodwork that adorned the ships innards. "Wow imagine taking this out, it'd be like paradise. No looking over your shoulder for zombies, send out a big net to catch your meals, finally unwind and relax." Approaching a porthole, Benny looked out onto the water, tapping the glass. "I miss being able to go to the beach with friends and making a bonfire to warm up ourselves at night." She said absently, her gaze drifting back to Andres as she saw him once again fiddling with something.

To bad they would probably be heading into the hills, where she might never see the beach again. Although the zombies didn't like large bodies of water, it wasn't exactly wise to prance around in the water completely defenseless. Thats how Leah got bitten a voice bitterly snipped at her, causing Benny to shake her head in an attempt to shake out the memory of Leah. "Wish we could go swimming." Her weak whim sounded more like a plea than a desire as Benny got comfortable on what appeared to be a desk, gently crossing her legs and her elbow digging into her thigh as her hand supported her head - cradling her chin. Mild boredom and disinterest flooded her eyes, much like a young girl who sat around moping until she got her way. Being immature was a long time struggle for Benny, but at this point her habits were so well ingrained that even in their desolate existance she found away to remain as Bratty Benny.

Adelaide Korbeil
The dark hair girl looked back to Levy as she walked between houses, turning corners, her blade ready "well you saved me yesterday, it was the least I could do" she said commenting on what Levy said earlier about having her back. "Everyone that still is alive needs to be able to have at least one person they can rely on, just know you can count on me". She climbed over a fence, Levy followed and once they were over Levy mentioned the house they were by was it.

She looked over the building then nodded her head "alrighty". Levy ran past her rounding a corner, she saw the other drop a block on a crawlers head "fuckin things always sneak up on you" she shook her head a little. Levy then said she wasgoing to go the room she had stayed into to get her stuff "okay". She watched the girl head up the fire escape then looked around the area.

It was strangely quiet, too quiet, she had a bad feeling and hoped Levy didn't take too long. She had the bad feeling in her gut that was eating at her down to the core "come on...come on" she whispered, laning herself against the building keeping an eye out on the surrondings. Levy soon came back with her belongings askingnif they were going hunting now or going to look for supplies, she already agreed to go hunting earlier but she remembered the screamer from before was heard from somewhere in the forest "lets go hunting but we need to be extra careful, especially with the screamer from before. I just got this bad feeling".

She took a few steps forward, hearing Levys stomach made her think of her own hunger "yeah I am a bit hungry too, lets go get some food" her eyes looked around once more before they landed on Levy "okay lets go we are not that far away" she then turned and weaved around buildings, taking the back way. She didn't like to be on the main streets, too open for her liking. She thought about her sister and wondered if she was home yet, or still out scouting for supplies, she hoped Zaila was safe. She wasn't sure how she would be if anything happened to her twin.

As she was walking by a broken window of a building a hand came out and grabbed at her arm, a small screech came out of her mouth as she tried to pull away. An ambler was making its way out of the window, its hand clamped onto her arm that held her hitam. "Let go you fucker" she yelled as she brought her head back and slammed it into the corpes head making it stumble then fall out of the window, its hand let go of her arm but was resching and clawing now for her leg. She brought her blade down right in the middle of the amblers head causing it to split in two. Blood and brain matter now covered her feet "nasty shit that is" she laughed wiping her brow with her arm.

She looked back at Levy "seems like they are like coming out of nowhere, the forest is just ahead. I usually do fishing in the stream so we can go to that area" she said as she continued walking on. As soon as they made it to the forest area Adelaide stood still and tried to listen to any sounds that could be close, not hearing anything she continued into the trees. Picking up a stick she started sharpening one end of it into a sharp point then handed it to Levy then made one for herself "just in case you need it".

As the stopped at the stream Adelaide took off her boots and socks "im going to actch some fish, sometimes small animals come around here for a drink. I usually go for the squirells or rabbits, haven't seen anything too big around here in awhile" she pulled up her pants then walked into the stream and started to focus in for the hunt.

Levy Carter

Levy nodded in compliance with Adelaide, letting her lead ahead. Her stomach had settled thanks to the berries, but Levy was still hungry. Sadly enough though Levy had grown accustomed to the gnawing sensation of hunger, the reason why she was so thin now. Her gun still in hand, she kept pace with Adelaide, jumping over a fallen tree that obstructed the path.

Levy remembered Adelaide mentioning her twin earlier, where was she now? hopefully alive Levy thought to herself when suddenly an arm reach out from a window, gripping Adelaide's hand. Before Levy had the chance to react, Adelaide had already slaughtered the culprit. "You're quick." Levy complimented, tucking a stray dread behind her ear.

Adelaide had been nothing but helpful to Levy, and as she led Levy into the forest, Levy was filled with gratitude that someone was looking out for some one other than the selves. She accepted the sharpened stick from Adelaide, tucking away her gun. It wasnt hard to pick up on each other's noises and be able to distinguish the difference between the sound of each other and the sound of unwanted visitors.

Levy sat on a large boulder near the running water, laying flat on her stomach to stare into the stream. "I just...." She said, waiting a moment before snatching her hand into the water and magically pulling a fish out with her hand, "grab 'em." A smile lit her face. Levy had learned how to fish with her hands from one of her mothers on one of their many camping trips. Throwing the fish onto the dirt, it began to flounder in a desperate attempt to return to the water.

Levy found herself staring at the fish, sympathizing for the poor thing. She could relate to the feeling, being a fish out of water. Struggling just to catch your next breath, feels like the weight of all your problems are pushing on your chest. Putting the fish out of it's misery, Levy staked the fish and watched as it slowly stilled. "I used to be vegetarian." She said absently, returning to the creek to try and collect more fish.

Benny Vega

Andre was dangerous, Benny decided. He was full of potential bad decisions and distractions that could potentially be the end of her, but Benny couldn't bring herself to walk away. "If handling you 24/7 is the closest I get to what life used to be like, I got it." he gathered her into his arms and threw her onto the bed.

Benny had wriggled under his hold, emitting a girlish squeal as she was thrown onto the dusty mattress. Laying onto the bed, a can of olives rolled against her, settling into her blonde tresses that had loosened from the hair tie. It felt nice, relaxing on an actual bed. She couldn't remember the last time she had been able to enjoy sleeping on so much as a cushion. Her body did a little wiggle as Andre loomed over her, saying "You just gotta' ease up with all that smartass shit, shorty, or I'ma finna' smack ya' fresh ass." playfully before lowering himself to pull her into a steamy kiss. He was too good, the perfect play of hot and cold Benny thought.

She smiled against his lips, content with that moment. "Baby boy, you slap me and we gone have a problem." she said dangerously, still smiling at the handsome young man. Andre seemed to have whisked Benny off her feet before she could even register the path she was leading herself down. Partnering with Andre meant the two would spend every moment not only watching their own backs, but each others. Would their hazy boundaries between romance and partnership negatively affect their survival skills? The two already were bickering incessantly, but was that because they wanted to irritate another or because they both found comfort in the silly games of love? Nevertheless, Benny watched Andre carefully from where she lay, seeing him grab the first aid kit then peer out the window.

He said something inaudible to Benny, then brushing off the topic to return to where she lay, bringing up the farm house again. "I don't know...." She whined, sitting up and feeling her hair fall to around her shoulders, having fallen out of its bun. Benny wasn't sure what to do now, there seemed like so many possibilities, but no way to prove the legitimacy of any of them. Truth be told Benny wasn't thinking about any of that, proof enough that already Andre's presence was throwing her off. Running a hand through her hair, Benny tugged at the ends before looking up to Andre. Instinctually she felt the corners of her lips tug up, recognizing the look he was giving her. "It sounds nice," Benny cooed, reaching out to hook one finger around his belt loop and pulling him towards her, "but us on this boat sounds nicer." She implied, teeth gently grazing her dark pink lips.

Unhooking herself from his belt loop, Benny's fingers teased the seam of his shirt as she reached to hook a single finger around one of Andre's fingers, much like she did his belt loop. Evocatively, Benny tugged him towards herself on the bed. Allowing her to over power him, Andre sat next to her, and Benny nodded at his response. Benny wasn't really listening, instead she swung herself on top of the boy, straddling him so that she faced him. "Shhhh." She said simply, gently pressing a finger to his lips.

Who knew when they would have the feeling of safety again? This boat offered more than all the Shelters Benny had taken the last few months. With Andre before her it was hard not to want to take advantage of the situation. She kissed him gently, slowly allowing their bodies to meld into one another's. His body began to recline back, and Benny followed him down, pressing her soft feminine body against his hardened muscular physique. Even though she had only known him this short time, Benny couldn't help but to feel drawn to Andre - like a moth to a flame.

His touch made her feel hot, and his fleshy lips tasted like the salty air, enticing her to bite down with a certain roughness - careful not to hurt him. Before Andre could find a way from her games, but now he had trapped himself between Benny and a mattress. Without the impending doom of a zombie only feet away, Benny could feel the tension lessen across her shoulders, pushing herself against Andre. Perhaps she was acting childish, but Benny was still only 19, a teenager at that. If in her bleak existence she could find joy in something as simple as the intimate moments she stole with Andre, Benny believed she was entitled to such. "You're mine now, papí." She smirked against his lips, running her hand up his torso.

Her teeth scraped across the skin behind his ear, followed by gentle kisses along his jaw. "I shut it down, Bae." Benny teased his lips with hers before kissing him again, dissolving against him. Her hips rotated against his, a gentle exhale escaping her lips as she pulled her lips from his. Falling onto the bed next to Andre, Benny pushed aside the can of olives to lay out next to the boy, resting her chin on his shoulder to gaze at his profile. "The house on the farm could be nice too, though. Other people could be there - good people. I'm sure they have a good defense system if they've been alive this long." Never did Benny think pillow talk would involve survival tactics. "Who knows, maybe they're planning on going to North Carolina...." Benny slumped against Andre's side, once again remembering her family and their likely deaths.

Zaila Korbeil
Zaila was getting impatient, the young girl was not talking and she had to get home. Looking to the guy then to the gun cabinet "I think my dad used to have a pair of bolt cutters in our garage, you wait here and ill go get them. My house is just down the street, not that far away. Ill be back in less then a half hour okay? Just watch her" she motioned to the girl. She then got up and headed upstaira before the guy could protest. She knew he was just trying to look out for them but Maddi was more important then her.

She walked out of the house and headed back to her house, she crossed the street then took a left down her road. It was getting dark, they didn't have much time left in the day to get too much more done. She should of just took Maddi back to her house then dealt with the other things tomorrow but it was too late now. She wondered how Addi was doing and if she got any good fish too cook up.

Zaila wasn't paying attention as she got lost in thought, she was right hear her house when she felt something bite in her leg. She let out a scream, looking down to see that a crawlwr has bitten her. She scrambled to get her axe but it dropped as another set of hands grabbed onto her "No..no.no...Help!" She yelled but it was no use, the only thing her yelling did was attract more of the zombies. She felt herself falling, she needed Addi, she punched out at one of the Amblers head just as she hit the ground.

Reaching for the walkie from her belt she spoke quickly "Addi, I need help, in front of the house. Im bitten.." She was going to say more but another ambler bit down on her arm. She was being swarmed but the dead and soon she would be one of them, she didn't even know she was yelling. The pain was just too much, she closed her eyes hoping this would all go away. They were scratching and biting at her, taking more of her flesh away. Then everything just faded to black.

Adelaide Korbeil
Adelaide looked over to Levy who was now laying on a boulder near the water, she couldn't help but watch as the older girl reached down and picked out a fish like it was the easiest thing in the world "holy shit, think you could teach me that sometime?". She grinned then looked down at the stream, fish were swimming around her legs and at the right might moment she struck down her sharp stick. When she brough the stick up a good size fish, looking over to Levy she saw the girl stab the fish she caught.

"I used to be a vegetarian" she heard Levy say, it made her think of the things she used to do before everything went to shit "all the things we used to be or do, it all doesn't matter anymore huh? Nothing matters really except having to fight each day to stay alive". Shrugging her shoulders she went back to catching fish.

A half hour later Adelaide caught eight fish, all of them lying on the bank near the stream. She was sweaty and hot, looking up past the trees she saw that it was getting darker out "we should think about heading back soon, won't be good to stay out in the dark" she said looking over to Levy. "I think we have enough fish to last us a few days".

She walked over to to the bank, stepping out of the water she sat down on the ground and put her boots back on "your definately going to have to teach me that catching fish thing, you have very quick hands" she laughed, finishing tying up her boots. As she gathered the fish she heard her walkie go off, she took it out and turned it up just a bite. It was crackly and hard to decipher what was being said but she could understand a few things Addie.....house...help... that was all that was said. "Fuck Zaila".

Adelaide quickly got the fish in her bag, looking over to Levy "I think my sisters in trouble, I have to go see if I can help her. I understand if you may want to stay behind. Who knows what Ill be walking into but I made a pact with my sister. If one of us were to be bitten or anything we promised to end it for each other. I know I would want to be killed if I was going to be changed into one of those monsters and she agrees. She wouldn't want to harm anyone". She stood up, looking at Levy "but if you do come I would appreciate it, you don't even know".

Whatever answer Levy gave her she supported and headed back towards her house, she ran most of the way hoping she would get there in time but she had a really bad feeling inside her gut that this night wasn't going to go according to plan. As she got closer to her street she was afraid to go around the corner, she could hear the noises of the dead and it made her feal sick to her stomach that Zaila may be in the middle of a horde. But she had to do it, she had to for her twin.

As she went around the corner she saw about seven of the amblers crouched down, feeding. Her eyes went wide at what she saw, she couldn't help the rage she was feeling as she ran towards the dead. She pulled her hitam out, one of the amblers lookwd right at her when she sliced through its neck. She went wild as she continued to slice and dice through the zombies that were feeding off her sister, she didn't even notice that she was crying. It was over for her sister, she no longer had any family left.

Levy Carter

The sun was beating down on Levy's tawny shoulders as the girls continued to fish. Keeping one ear out for any unwanted visitors and another ear out for Adelaide, time seemed to pass by fast. "I'm really horrible at teaching people stuff." She mumbled, yet Levy still did explain how to go through the motions, then snatching yet another fish from the water.

After what seemed of hours of idle chit chat and fishing, Levy realized how content she was. Adelaide was good company, a pretty young thing with a vivacious spirit. She had a home to go back to at the end of the night, a luxury that had been taken from her months ago. Once Adelaide seemed to be getting most of the luck when it came to meat, Levy walked a few feet off to gather some tasty berries and leaves, nibbling on sassafras leaves that left her with lemon breath.

Walking back towards Adelaide, Levy plucked a single dandelion, popping the yellow buds into her mouth and chewing on the weed heartily. As a child Levy would always eat flowers and herbs from her garden, something other kids might call weird but at least she never ate the mud pies she used to bake. The little habit of flower consumption carried into her adult hood and now was a main source of nutrition in this post apocalyptic reality.

Storing the berries and plants into a container, then shoving it back into her backpack. "Good catch, I'd say we had a successful day." Levy said with a wink, smiling at her new team mate, but Adelaide's expression showed she was not in a joking mood.

"I think my sisters in trouble, I have to go see if I can help her. I understand if you may want to stay behind. Who knows what Ill be walking into but I made a pact with my sister. If one of us were to be bitten or anything we promised to end it for each other. I know I would want to be killed if I was going to be changed into one of those monsters and she agrees. She wouldn't want to harm anyone.....but if you do come I would appreciate it, you don't even know".

It wasn't even a question to Levy, she wouldn't make Adelaide have to face this alone. Levy had taken a shine to the young girl who reminded her of herself a little when she was that age. If they had met under different circumstances Levy could see the two being friends, but they met in this world and the companionship they had shared had been the best time Levy had in weeks.

"Lead the way, champ." Levy said, adjusting her gun into her boot so that it would not fall out or be hard to access if needed be. When Levy looked up, Adelaide was already far ahead. Grunting, Levy took off into a sprint after Adelaide, pacing her breathing carefully so that she wouldn't be struggling to breathe later on. Before the zombies ran down their world, Levy hadn't been much of an athlete. Nowadays, if you couldn't run long distance, you already died most likely.

Adelaide didn't slow down, motivating Levy to keep pushing. If she were to let Adelaide run to far ahead, where would that leave Levy? Alone and without shelter? There was no was Levy could navigate back to Adelaide's home on her own now. "Wait....up." Levy weakly called after the brunette a block ahead, turning around a corner. It was no use, Adelaide couldn't hear Levy at this distance.

Levy didn't stop running though, and once Adelaide came back into view, slaughtering through a horde of zombies in front of what Levy recognized as Addie's home. Muttering obscene ties, Levy retrieved her gun from her boot, running to the bloody scene. Adelaide had gone into the horde with a rage, blinded by the horror of seeing her sister being fed upon. Mistakenly putting herself within the grasp of an almost fortunate zombie, Levy had to react quickly and fire at the zombie. After that Adelaide killed a few and Levy gunned down the rest, leaving Adelaide's sister whom the young girl was sobbing ever.

Levy's mind flashed back to the moment her mother had been turned, begging Levy to kill her. She asked Levy not to look, but the woman hadn't been able to stop staring into her adoptive mothers eyes as she pulled the trigger. Levy couldn't expect Adelaide to have to relive the same horrid moment over and over. "Go inside, I'll take care of this." Despite the girl's protest, Levy was able to shove Addie inside the house, leaning against the door so that Adelaide couldn't make it back out.

Before she would lose the moment of opportunity, Levy released a bullet into the face of what used to be Adelaide's twin. The bodies littered across the front stoop, with Zalia in the middle of it all. "What a mess." She mumbled, then continuing to drag the bodies around the corner of the house. With Zalia, Levy carried her by the back of the house, settling her down neatly. "We can bury her tomorrow." She said to no one in particular, wiping a hand across her brow, smearing a dark sticky substance that had come out of one if the zombies.

Looking to the sky, it was evident that it was late noon, and soon the night would be ran by hungry corpses'. Using her shirt to wipe down her face, Levy walked back to the front of the house, shooting a crawler she saw twitching a few feet ahead. Her clip was shot, she didn't have many more bullets left. Soon her gun would be a useless prop, unless she found more bullets. Levy made a mental note to ask Adelaide where they could get more bullets...tomorrow. Cautiously Levy entered the home, locking the door as if she were still trying to protect herself from robbers and rapist.

Firstly Levy went to Adelaide, awkwardly rubbing the back of her neck. Although normally Levy excelled at comforting others, there were no words to fill the void of having your twin zombiefied. "We can do a ceremony for her in the morning," it wasn't much but it did offer some closure. Hesitantly, Levy sat next to Adelaide, wrapping an arm around the girls narrow shoulders. "I know dude, it sucks." Was all Levy could come up with, rubbing Adelaide's arm with all the maternal instincts she can muster.

Benny Vega

Andre's fingers were rough against her skin, enticing her further, but Benny couldn't let his charm rule her so easily. Despite her urge to strip her own clothes and indulge in animalistic wild sex from months of sexual urges being suppressed, Benny did have some reservations despite it being the end of the world. So instead Benny just smiled at Andre, enjoying him while he was still being sweet before he turned sour again.

Nodding in agreement, Benny picked at the cloth of Andre's shirt, "For real, dawg, yo clothes is whack." She said in good humor, kissing him playfully. As he gathered what he had found, Benny played with her hair, pursing her lips in thought. You know you can't trust him sharply Benny turned around, it had sounded as if Leah was talking right into her ear, just hovering over her shoulder, but that was impossible because Leah was dead.
ImageShaking the looming weight of Leah from her mind, Benny grabbed her rifle and followed behind Andre, their hands linked momentarily. It was strange, what they shared. They were both too proud to admit they liked one another, yet they both were too attracted to each other to stay away. It was evident that they were slowly growing fond of one another, but Benny wasn't sure if it was because they were compatible or because she was starved for human attention. Whatever it was Benny wasn't going to ruin it now.

Jumping back onto the deck, Benny shoved Andre playfully, "What happened to ladies first?" Before he could respond, Benny shot back, "I guess you weren't too far off then." Sticking out her tongue childishly, Benny jogged ahead, unaware that Andre was just behind her - readying to scoop her into his arms.

Squealing a little too loudly, Benny dropped her rifle as he swung her around, her hands gripping around his neck to assure she wouldn't be dropped. Nearing the water, Benny clung tighter to Andre, "Nooooo, let me down!" She whined, although she wanted to go swimming Benny didn't want to get her sneakers wet. Thankfully Andre set her on the sand, mumbling "I was gonna' throw you in." enticing Benny to roll her eyes.

"Good thing you didn't...." She said in a sing song voice, picking her rifle back up and glancing back to Andre, "because if you did, I'd have to bust a cap in your ass." She said toyingly, returning to the ATV and reassuming her position in passenger seat. Extending a single hand out the side, Benny snapped her fingers. "Oh chauffeur, I'm waiting!" She said in a snobbish tone, awaiting Andre to take them elsewhere.

Will Moon

At the sound of gunshots, Will stood back up, picked up the rifle and looked through the scope. The shots had sounded as if they'd come from where the girl had been attacked. Sure enough, when he looked to the same place as before, he saw another girl fighting off the dead with the first. Two of them now.

For a while, he watched the girls through the scope. One of them, the one who looked to be the elder of the two, shoved the younger into the house and fired another final shot. He assumed it was a mercy killing of the girl that had been attacked. After some time, the second girl went inside the house and did not emerge again.

Will shook his head. She'd fired too many shots. It was sure to attract any number of the things. Sure enough, as he turned to survey the area, he saw numerous members of the undead shambling in the general direction of the gunfire.

Now he had to decide. Were they his problem? Surely, they could be in serious danger, considering that there was no way of knowing how many the gunshot would attract. If he stayed where he was, he would probably be safe; a few stragglers might find their way into his killing zone, but for the most part, he would be okay. But that would bear a weight on him - a weight he couldn't be sure he could live with. Sometimes, that was the cost of survival. Then again, sometimes the cost of survival was too much to pay.

Again, he shook his head, setting his rifle down before gathering his other things. He put on his armor and his jacket, followed by his helmet. The pistol was placed in the waistband of his pants. Finally, carrying the weight of both backpacks, he picked the rifle back up. Quietly, he called for Buster, "Come on." He motioned with his hand to the dog and the two of them descended the stairs together.

The house wasn't too far. If he was careful, he could make it there without much incident, despite the potential opposition he faced. He decided he needed to forgo the use of his guns, so he slung the rifle over his shoulder and drew his hatchet. The weapon that had put him into his current situation. For a moment, he felt like throwing the weapon away to be never seen by his eyes again. But, he knew that he needed it. Weapons like these were more valuable than gold these days.

Up ahead, an ambler was shuffling in the same direction they were headed. Will held out a hand to stop Buster from moving or making a sound. He obeyed, but kept himself on guard from anything else around them. With a raised hand holding the hatchet, he swung, burying the weapon into the back of its head. Once again, he called for Buster to follow him before continuing on.

Only twice more did the two of them encounter the dead, and they handled them without incident. After some time, the house came into view. Slowly, Will approached it and knocked on the door. At first, there was no response. He knocked again and spoke.

"You've got dead on their way here. I can help."

Noah Winters

Noah had checked four more houses since the first with no luck or sign of his daughter. With each house, he grew more and more discouraged and frustrated. Sometimes he even went out of his way to find the dead and kill them. It was dangerous. He knew that, but he was no longer in a complete state of mind. Not anymore.

At one time, someone even ran past him, screaming for help. She was being chased by a rather large group of the dead. While Noah remained hidden, he could have easily helped her, but when he thought of helping her, he froze. Going out there or sticking his neck out for someone was risky and could get him killed.

The woman was swarmed and he just watched. It barely even registered that there had been a person at all. His mind possessed only a singular thought.

Emily. I have to find Emily.

The words resonated in his brain over and over. Nothing else mattered now. He soon came across a sixth house and began his routine of looking through the house for supplies first. Some beans, some tape, some pins and thread. No food or water.

This house had a basement too. Most of them in town did. As he progressed down the stairs slowly, there was a creak below his right foot and, before he could react, followed shortly by a SNAP! He now found himself stuck in the stairs leading down to the basement.

With a window that opened up just above ground, this basement was more well-lit than the first house. With natural sunlight filtering into the room, he could tell that Emily wasn't here, nor was she likely to have ever been. But, he could also see that his right leg was bleeding. A piece of wood had embedded itself into his upper calf. Despite the wound, he could barely feel the it. Aside from a faint throbbing in his leg, there was nothing.

Noah turned and grunted, using the next step up to pull himself out of his predicament and crawl back up to the main floor with some effort. When he reached the top, he lied on the floor to catch his breath. After a moment or two, he looked down at his leg. It didn't look too bad from where he was. The piece of wood was about the size of a fifty-cent piece, and it hadn't gone too deep.

Still...

Take it out or leave it in?

He took off his backpack and began to rummage through it, finally coming out with some clean cloth that he could use to wrap the wound. Then, he began the process of removing the chunk of wood from his leg. As it began to come out, it began to hurt, certainly more than it had going in. But, he stayed quiet. It was nowhere near the worst pain he'd experienced.

Gently, he lifted up his pant leg and wrapped his bare right leg in the cloth before ripping off a piece of tape and using it to hold the makeshift bandage in place. After another moment or two on the floor, he finally stood up, not putting any weight on his right leg not yet.

Gingerly, he took a step. And, while it hurt, the pain wasn't so bad that he couldn't keep going. He had to keep going for his daughter's sake. As he exited the house, he retrieved the can of spray-paint once more in order to remind himself what houses he'd already checked.

Another big red X went up on the front door of the house.

As he turned around, he found himself facing a single ambler. It was a face that he'd seen just hours before; the woman that had been crying for help, which Noah refused. The sound of the spraying had muted the sounds of her approach. The dead woman lunged at him, baring her teeth. With as much strength as he could muster, he pushed it off, followed quickly by a swing towards her with his bat, splattering blood and brains everywhere.

It wasn't until the adrenaline of the situation had worn off that he noticed that his left arm now felt like it had been dipped in hot liquid metal. He searched his arm for the source, until he came upon a blood stain on his left shoulder. Carefully, he lifted the fabric up and looked for the cause.

He'd been bitten.

Adelaide Korbeil
Blood sprayed against her face as she just kept flinging her knife around at the amblers and crawlers "Zaila hold im here" she kept saying over and over agaun. A gun was shot and Addi looked to see one of the amblers beside her fall to the ground, looking behind her for a second she saw Levy there with her gun pointed. She was glad the girl followed, that means she won't be totally alone.

As all the zombies finally were completepy dead on the ground Addi sunk to her knees beside Zaila, her hands trembling as she pushed her twins bloody hair out of her face "ohh Zaila, Im the one suppose to get caught innstick situations, not you". She looked at her sisters body, she pulled the bloody pack and belt off her sister knowing they stuff her sister carried maybe would be helpful in the future. Tears welled in her eyes, she held her hitam up ready to make sure that her sister wouldn't come back alive. Looking at her sisters face she wasn't sure if she could do this but she promised.

Hands touched her, pulling her up "Go inside, i'll take care of this" she heard Levy tell her. Shaking her head Adelaide looked down at her sister "I promised.." she chocked back a sob "I promised I would do this...I have to do it" Addi kept mumbling but Levy refused. The older girl pushed her into her house and shut the door, Addi banged on the door for a few minutes until she heard the gunshot. Slipping to the ground she leaned against the wall taking in a deep breath, Zaila was gone...she was never going to see her twin again. Never have the daily arguments, her sister was the one to help keep her on the straight path, helped her give up the drugs. How how she wished she had a blunt right now. "Why why why" she muttered under her breath.

The front door was opened and Levy came in, shutting and locking the door behind her. Addi didn't look up, she just sat there in sort of a daze We can do a ceremony for her in the morning," Levy said to Addie before coming to sit beside her. An arm was put around her and Adelaide couldn't help but lean into Levy "I know dude, it sucks". The tears started flowing again and this time she didn't try to hold them back "that should have been me, not her. She was the smart one Levy, while I was the one always getting into trouble. I just can't believe she is gone, thankfully you are here though. Thank you for everything".

Just then there was a knock on the door and a muffled voice of a man was heard "You've got dead on their way here. I can help." Addi looked to Levi and then around the house, the windows were all boarded up and nailed, keeping any unwanted visitors out. "Guess we should let him in..." she wasn't exactly wanting to but she couldn't just leave the guy out there with the zombies coming. "If he tries anything, shoot him" she whispered in Levy's ear before standing up and unlocking the door. She peaked out the door and saw a man standing there with also a very familiar dog "why is Buster with you wheres Tara" was the first thing that came out of her mouth before she ushered the guy into the house with Buster.

Once everyone was inside she shut and locked the door, then walked to the living room grabbing a hammer and a few nails that were on a book shelf. Walking back to the door she took a board the was by the door and started hammering against the door, more reinforcement if anything tried to get in. She did that with two other boards before she stopped and looked to the man "who are you?"
