King. At the sight of that word, many things come to mind. Monarch, Idol, Royalty. However, as these words hold little to no meaning. The only word that elucidates the term "king" is Lifeline. Admit it, without the king, the country will fall into chaos, moral will be lost and rarely, a power struggle between brothers will ensue. We tell the story of 3 kings, struggling between a clash of ideals.

Long ago, this tale being perfectly placed after "once upon a time". There was a king, feared by his enemies and worshiped by his people. The source of his military strength was unknown, even by the people living in his kingdom. His captains and generals were able to form feats, seemingly impossible to an average human. Advanced intellect, enhanced combat prowess, weapons from thin air, these generals will suppress your expectations.

However, he knew his kingdom would fall eventually, even a great king like himself would meet his end soon enough. As a result, using his knowledge of the various pieces his generals have swore themselves on. He created imitations, originally creating one set, but settling on 3, as his three sons couldn't dare to witness anyone else inheriting the throne other than themselves.

What are pieces exactly? They act as a manifestation of the King's soul. A king stores a large quantity of energy within himself, but has no outlet to release it from. The pieces were created to give the power within a king a use other then just a decoration. The pieces serve as a contract between whoever decides to pledge loyalty to the king, as they are granted power, an exchange for the king having complete control over the individual's thoughts and actions. A piece holder will have to obey the king's every command, whether it is the making of a sandwich, or the killing of a fellow human being. There is no say against the king's command. Another thing you should watch out for before signing on is that, when the king has been slain. To protect the king piece from being decimated is to forcefully rip out the pieces from the other holders, taking their energy to safeguard the piece. However as a result, the human body will crumble as they have had their energy source removed from their body. In other words, if the king dies, his loyal subordinates will sacrifice themselves for the greater good of the kingdom, allowing the king to have an heir.

The struggle between the three brothers has been going on for eons, spanning to present day times. The Red, The White and The Black Kings have been fighting over control, with the only sense-able way to demolish a kingdom, is the knock it down, and when it gets up once more. Repeat.

Their only job is to survive. As the King acts as a lifeline for the rest of the pieces. If the king is starting out fresh, they will be raised by a person known as a minister. Even if kings don't have any abilities, they usually have enhanced intelligence or weapon proficiency to keep their pieces in line without having to raise their voice. Gender-fluent!

Acting as the second in command, the queen isn't limited to one specific ability group. They can be a master at an unorthodox ability, acting as the trump card of sorts. Seen as the main fighter along with the knight. Also gender-fluent!

Their abilities lie within the mind, telepathy, enhanced intelligence, predication. Not usually seen as the fighters of the group, but doesn't mean they can't fight when the situation calls for it. Bishops are unable to summon weapons, so they usually use pistols or knifes in conjecture with their mental prowess.

Knights are self-explanatory. Their abilities are about hitting hard, weapon summoning/mastery and enhanced physical expertise. Knights sometimes fill the role of an assassin, murdering the king before anyone can comprehend what has happened, invisibility and decoys for these specific cases.

The defense of the kingdom. Their abilities are all about defending the king, molecular manipulation, enhanced durability, shield generation. Rooks also have the ability known as castling. Taken directly from chess, rooks are able to teleport directly in front of the king, protecting them from a lethal hit in some situations. This ability leaves a rook deeply fatigued, this method only being used when it is absolutely necessary.

The weaklings, the expendable. A king is allowed up to 8 pawns, aside from the normal 1 for the rest of the pieces. Pawns usually only gain 1 minimal ability, and as a result, don't mind the war in question unless their lives are threatened. Although, Pawns have the option to move up in rank. In either challenging the higher up to a duel, which never ends well, or if the piece dies, prompting for a replacement. There is also very special cases where someone who shows promise never started as a pawn, but it is unlikely.

✦Faceclaims - I would prefer if you would choose a fitting face for your character. We can discuss on if that one guy from that one anime belongs in this roleplay or Game of Thrones.

✧Literacy - I'd call myself a pretty chill guy. Since everyone likes to go over the word limit, lets set it to a solid 300! :D

✦Reservations - Alright, No tricks. Reading the rules and following the rules are two separate things and they are basically all the same on every roleplay. When you reserve, please give me a gif, hexcode and a quote for your character.

✧Time - It should be completed in 3 days after sending in a WIP, which I'll be expecting from everyone 48 hours after typing something in the OOC.

✦Fight Club - Okay. The usual, no bunnying, Mary Sues, Gary Stues, Hairy Qs, Pikachus, etc. Please don't fight among yourself in the OOC. Keep the feelings on each other on the down-low.

✧The disappearance of ______ - This is basic knowledge. Don't leave without giving me a notice prior. We can plan around your disappearance and I won't have to accidentally make your character fall off the Eiffel Tower.

✦Other - I rather not add any more roles. 12 is already very hefty, but if you are okay with playing a lesser role, such as a pawn, feel free. We have an unlimited amount of those. Pawns can only be made when the main roles have been completed.
