Introduction
The Guardians
The Guardians consist of 8 members total; 4 humans and 4 demonics. I'll explain their relationship in a bit. For now, I start with the humans. Our four lucky youngsters have been raised in a convent their whole lives, training to be priests and priestesses. They all have a tattoo of their demonic animal on their right shoulders in the color of their power. (Red for fire, blue for water, green for earth, and purple for air) They are masters of one weapon, and all of them have a useful skill. Cooking, sewing, climbing, singing, whatever suits them. They didn't really choose to be here, though. They are orphans. Also, they didn't have a choice if they wanted to be a Guardian or not. Now for our demonics. They may or may not know each other, but they are all wandering the country of Pheliosta for one reason or the other. In their past, they could've been royalty, peasants, a member of the Moonlight bandits, Manarian slave, almost anything. They have medium control of a single element (fire, earth, water, air) and super speed, strength, stamina, and natural intelligence. Another thing, they all have the personification of a certain mythical animal related to their element. They also hold some physical features of said animal, but for the most part look pretty human. But, all of them have a loner complex. That complex may be less extreme in some, while others can't even stand another living being's breath. The Guardians are split into 4 partners; a human and a demonic. This partnership is called the Bond of Lock and Key.
Bond of Lock and Key
The demonics born to be a Guardian are born with an iron chain around their neck. Attached to it, is a lock melded into the shape of the element they control. Neither will rust, break, and/or be removed. A human holds the key to that lock, and the key's design matches that of the lock. The human is born with that key; it is attached to a silver chain around their wrist. However, the key and chain will only appear if Pheliosta needs it's Guardians. So you humans have only recently learned you are the new Guardians. Anyways, it's the job of the humans to go and hunt down their future partner. The goal is to unlock your partner's lock. Simple, right? Anyways, here are the benefits of a partnership.
- The demon will do whatever it takes to protect their partner's life. Whether they want to or not.
- The human has to do the same, but mentally instead of physically. They can't let their demon be sad, no matter what.
- If the demon is unlocked, they receive a massive amount of power. However, they only have so much at their disposal until the lock runs out, and re-shuts itself. The stronger your bond is with your partner, the stronger your power is and it lasts longer too.
- The demon can influence their partner's emotions.

"Better just get a quick look and then get out. She sighed. She wasn't in the best of moods at the moment, so she headed towards the one thing that just might cheer her up. The tavern. A hush fell over the place as she entered and headed to the bar. The bar keep seemed flustered by her unatural purple eyes.
"I...um...ehem, what'll it be, miss?" He finally managed to get out, to which she replied,
"Pint of whiskey. Make it snappy and maybe I'll give you a decent tip."
He looked slightly agast. He usualy wasn't spoken to like that by young wemon. But, shrugging, he hurried to get her order.
As she was waiting, Rivera scowled at the key on her wrist. "Destiny...yeah right. The only thing I'm good at in this world is surviving. How the hell am I supposted to save it?"

Alas, it would have to wait. Kieran was no where near ready to pay for a house. Perhaps he would build one... far away from the bustle of the main streets of the town he was in, right on the outskirts of the farmlands. Yes, he thought. That was a lovely idea.
Kieran had just come back from completing a task from one of the local bakers. He'd entered the shop asking for a job, and he was sent out of the city to retrieve a cluster of roots to bring back. It was easy enough, it was a common root. It was close enough to walk to. He unsaddled and unbridled his horse, and brought them into his room at the inn he was staying at so that they would not be stolen. Leaving the inn, he began walking down the street.
Kieran kept the hood of his black cloak up as he walked down the street. As he got closer to the bakery though, a light began to fill the hood of his cloak. He paused, having never seen this before. He saw the glow of the mysterious light off of his skin, and lightening the inside of his black hood. Alarmed that someone had possibly put a hex on him, he relaxed once he realized what it was. The lock around his neck was glowing. He hated this lock, but he knew it well, and it had never glowed like this before. It had been simply iron... at least before now. He held his cloak closer together to attempt to hide it, finding the glow an annoyance. It would just attract people to him. He would have to ignore it though. He had to deliver a sack of the roots to the bakery before the shop closed. He found that it only glowed brighter as he continued towards the bakery, but he ignored it.

The glass that Rivera had been drinking from hit the floor and shattered. Cries of alarm and protest filled the small room, but Rivera wasn't paying much attention.
Her key was glowing.
She studdied it closer, but really had no idea what it meant. "What the hell?" She quickly grew annoyed. "Why can't I just be rid of this damn thing?" She laid some money on the table, grabbed her cloak and threw it on as she headed out the door. Figuring it was time to skip town, and that she had already drawn enough attention to herself, she began heading back the way she had come, towards the inn.
She passed someone in a tall cloak, with the hood up. She paid him no mind, he was none of her buisness, and she none of his. Until of course, her tail and ears, as well as fangs came out on their own. Her hood not up, her demonic form was now in full veiw for anyone to see. Had he done something to her? It was then that she realized her key was trying to lead her back to hte man, as if...they were being pulled together. She soon saw the same purple glow around his neck.
Everything clicked. "Aw, hell." She muttered. Not only was this guy a fellow Demonic, he was her partner. The Dragon Demonic of Air.
She could do nothing but scowl.

He looked at the sun to figure out what time it was. He noticed the bakery soon would close. Hurrying, he rushed over to the bakery to get breakfast. On the way there, he saw a man in a black cloak, a woman next to him, standing outside the tavern.
He looked at the woman, taking in her ears, tail, and her eyes. He then noticed that both of them had something shining from the inside of their cloaks. The Lock and Key, perhaps? He turned and hid in between the two buildings a slight ways away from them, watching the scene unfold. He knew what people thought of Demonics in this town. He wasn't about to let them get slaughtered. Not while he could help it.

Once he'd collected his coins, he wandered back into the streets again. He felt like a walking lamp post with his hood all aglow and such. He wanted to return to the inn and stay for the night in hopes that it'd stop glowing soon. Kieran didn't know what it meant, and it made him worry a little bit. He didn't know if the lock would suddenly explode or something.
But as he was walking back to the inn, he saw someone on the side of the main road. At least part demonic, seeing as the woman had cat ears and a tail. This was who his lock was pulling him towards. What had caught Kieran's attention though, was the key glowing purple around her wrist. Without hesitation he walked over to her, trying to seem normal in the eyes of the people he pushed past. Without consideration of hurting her or scaring her, he wrabbed the wrist with the glowing key and lifted it up. "Who are you?" he demanded.

If she used her key, would the metal come off of his neck? Or would something entirely different happen? Kieran would be pondering these questions all night, and this only irritated him further. But if she was someone connected to him... perhaps she could give him more information about his lock. "Kieran." He knew his gaze wasn't friendly, but frankly, this wasn't how he was expecting his night to go. "That's my name. We're a match?" He questioned further, seeing as she listed both of them as Air beings.

Finally they came to a stop in a dark alley where there wouldn't be eavesdropping citizens. Rivera began asking him about old legends and fairytales and such, and he sighed and cut off her sentence. "Yes, yes, I've heard of them! They don't even exist anymore," he waved away her silly reference. What was this girl thinking?

After awhile they stoped, and talked about the old legends of the heroes.
As he lissend to them he tought"yea what she is saying is right, tough more then what my lock is for and what it means i don't know more than that neither."
After that he stepped out of the shadows carefully aproaching, He didn't want to get punched or something.
As he aproached he talked with a nice, calm voice. "It seems the people didn't notice yet what you two are, and girl you are right about the lock and key you have been taught well." He threw a friendly smile to them,

The footsteps of a third person approaching made Kieran's head turn, and he glared a the newcomer. He spoke that he knew of the same legends. Was Kieran really the only one that didn't believe it to be true? He looked back to Rivera, choosing not to acknowledge the other man for now. His thoughts were still wrapped up in the idea of infinite power. Could a lock and key truly unleash something like that?
"What kind of power?" He finally asked.
(OOC: Sorry Kain <333 Kieran won't be such a jerk in the next post. Maybe. That's kinda who he is D:)

As he waited for them to maybe start to ask him questions he asked. "Do you two want to talk in a better place where we can sit down? it might be easier to talk more about it there if you want."
As he sugested that he gave them a smile though it was a smile that is actualy just there to make them not think hes a bad guy.
((OOC:Don't worry about it bri :) tough you two might have noticed where are the other people at my character is lonly D: wel kinda xD))

Finally, Kieran's eyes strayed to the stranger who'd followed them. He had offered to go some place else to sit and talk. Perhaps that wasn't a bad idea. Kieran, apparently, had a lot to learn. "Where do you suggest we go?" He asked, pulling up the hood of his cloak again. He wished his lock would stop glowing. "No where public. I don't want the attention," he commanded.

When they arrive at the forrest the woman sayed "Have you made your decision? Do you want me to unlock you? Or not?" For some reason that made him laugh and he tought "because it sounded funny if you think about it in a way." He then said "Sorry if i laughed, but for some reason the unlock part made me laugh"

He stepped closer to Rivera, fully aware that he was no invading personal space. Gently this time, he picked up her wrist in a way where the key on her wrist would dangle directly in front of his lock. Looking with dragon eyes from the key to her eyes, his next words came soft but still ever demanding. "Do it."
Setting

Rivera sighed, her purple eyes locked onto his own dragon-like ones. As he took her hadn, she took a breath, not sure what exactly was going to happen. Slowly, the key slid into the lock, and it clicked. One turn, and everything changed.
It was immediate, and nothing like she had expected. She felt like she was falling, falling into a black abyss, that she could do nothing about, and nothing could save her.
And then suddenly, a silved cord seemed to appear, and tie her to Kieran. It was as if he was anchoring her to reality, keeping her there.
Keeping her safe. She felt a rush of power coming from him, and then...she felt other things. It was...emotion. Lots of it, all different.
It was from him! She suddenly realized it. All the emotions she could feel that were not her own, were coming from him.
Setting
0.00 INK
The only thing he could really do was just stand there ,and while he watched them the thought what could have happened ,and what will happen if he finds his partner.
He wasn't really exited about that tought... because he trusts no one.
He then tought "I trust no one if i find a partner maybe she can gain it. But it would be a long and difecault time tough i hope someone is able to gain it."
He then looked at the sky thinking of who she could be and how she would have looked.
He then turned around to the other two he asked. "So are you two done? got any other plans? i am bored..."
Setting
0.00 INK
He ignored the feeling at the moment, and focused on the sensation of flying. Instead of falling into an abyss, it felt like he was being lifted to a blinding light. He ever so desired to reach it, but suddenly the sensation of lifting was halted. There was a partially transparent cord that was holding him from lifting. Silver and slightly glowing, it was rooted into the very heart of his soul, and attached to Rivera. Kieran knew then that this girl, this partner of his would always hold him back. If only there were some way to steal the key. But he would consider that option later...
The itch between his shoulder blades returned to his attention at the same time he felt the rush of foreign emotions. Another shiver ran up his spine, and suddenly he had two more limbs. Beginning between his shoulder blades were large white bat-like wings, capable of flight. Somehow he could feel Rivera's sense of wonder, and Kieran smiled widely to himself. Realizing that he had influence over her emotions, he increased that sense of wonder before lifting his wings up in a rotating movement, and then forcing them downward again in a solid flap. The movement was enough to lift him off the ground a few feet. Kieran couldn't keep the grin off of his face. He had the gift of flight! He hovered for a minute, ecstatic to try out his new limbs.
But suddenly it was over all too soon. Kieran could feel Rivera's emotions draining from his body, and he dropped to the ground as his new wings sucked themselves back into his spine. Immediately he felt angry, and he spoke before thinking. "That's all? These guardians are legendary because of one solid MINUTE of power? It isn't even worth it!" He shouted, slamming his fist against the tree he was standing next to. Kieran already missed the feeling of ultimate power, and knew that despite what he said, he would never leave that key, no matter who it was attached to.

He walked away a bit ,and lay down looking at the sky.
He then picked up a leaf that was laying next to him on the ground, and played a calm but beatyfull tune.
Some birds re apeared and sat on him,two wolfs layed down next to him, and some other animals came looking curiously where the music came from.
((OOC: Bri or twili if you want to do my partner go ahead :) im not that good yet to do two characters at the same time yet >.>.))

Ami, oh my god lol. Kain's going to be distrustful of Kouta because she's human and Kouta is going to be distrustful of Kain because he's connected to the Moonlight Bandits. I can sense it will take awhile before either of them come close to liking each other.
EDIT:
Here Ami, I uploaded it to Tinypic, you should be good now.
