Name: Princess Kalila si Ishka Misantri

Avatar of Ishka

Princess of Jeddah
Age: 15

Appearance&Build: A perfect blend of her mother and father, she is a lithely framed girl, with her father's brown hair and large doe eyes, with her mother's olive skin, and wavy trusses and round heart shaped face . She can often be seen in simple dresses, nothing like the lavish clothes of a princess. She only wears an old worn-out pair of riding boots, if she's not completely barefoot which she is majority of the time.

Who are they: Kalila is the only daughter of Sultan Da'Karro Misantri and Sultana and High Priestess Clara 'Scarlet' Misantri and Princess of Jeddah.

She is also said to be the incarnation of the Goddess of Life, Ishka in which her people worship.

Where are they from: Ishkatan, Jeddah but has stolen away to Nassau, the Kingdom of Thieves.

Personality:
Kalila is a free spirited young girl, whose divine connection has made her somewhat...off. She has been known to wander off, become obessive over things like patterns and colors, or go completely still. She speaks incoherently from time to time, without much actually knowledge of what she's saying. She is very picky, and only allows very few people to touch her, if touched, she'll let off a horrible scream, has been known to deafen people.

She has a habit of examining things, people's faces, rocks, planets, her own hands, going over it in her mind as if it a peice of art she doesn't quiet get, and this usually rubs people the wrong way, as she usually invades people's personal space by speaking only through thought alone.

Once you get passed her insanity, she is really sweet, playful and compassionate, in her own special way. She loves both of her parents dearly, having close relationship with both of them.

History: Kalila was born to the Sultan and Sultana of Jeddah, and was reverred as a goddess. Her childhood was not that of a normal princess, she spent a good precentage of her time in meditation and studies. And while her parents, especially her mother, encouraged her to make friends, she couldn't quite fit in with the childern, most were afraid of her, and some didn't understand her, no one really did, so she kept to herself, save for her guardian and only real friend,Jarrack Hasser.

She came into her abilities early in life, having many abilities, and more yet to come, her senses were always higher then most, save for her mother, Sultana and High Priestess of Ishka, she and her mother could communicate without uttering a single word. She excelled in Martial Arts, in a way that was scary for a child so young, and her skilled had begun to rival that of her father. She remembered things that most didn't, or couldn't, like her own birth.

As she got older, she began getting visions, seeing things before they happen, small things, usually, until she was about 10 and got a vision of a wicked creature kidnapping childern, and destroying villages. She would get these visions everytime the creature attacked, she would see the horrors and hear voices, going on in language she couldn't understand. It would make her anxious and tense, unable to relax. Only her parents and guardian were able to calm her down but it would leave her lethargic and unresponsive for days at a time.

Finally one day, she was able to hear understand a word. 'Nassau.' and realized that was were she was going to go.

Her parents of course wasn't hearing it, especially her father but they both knew to answer destiny when it called, so they relented and allow her to go to the Kingdom of Theives but not with her trusted Guardian and Friend.

Now, she is on her way to Nassau, following the instructions from the voices in her head.

Jarrak Hassar walked through the shithole of a port town with less than a amused vasard. He hadnt been on the island a day and already had lost his ward, "Damn it Kalila," he mumbled under his breath as he walked down another winding alley, "Why do you do this to me?"
Some guardian he was. Protector of a damn princess, a prophesied reincarnation of Ishka, and still his biggest problem was merely keeping the mad girl in his sights. He hoped against hope, that word never reached her father's ears about how lax his skills at protection had gotten. He was used to chasing Kalila around a palace, not a slum. A beggar stepped out in front of him, hand proffered, mumbling something about coins for an old man, Jarrak had no time for it and a solid knee to the gut sent the beggar doubling over in the dirt.
"Filth." He said under his breath as he continued to walk through the stinking town, "Filth and foul, why on earth have we come here?"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lady Elizabeth Benezia Harlington sat in her on the terrace of her estate looking over the sapphire blue waters off the coast of Nassau. On a small table beside her sat a china cup of inky black tea, and above her an umbrella, keeping the harshest of the suns rays from her, even if she was fully covered, from her long gloves to halterneck dress and face mask. She stared out over the stunning vista view, she had lived here nearly twenty years but she never tired of that view. She lifted her tea cup to her face and took a careful measured sip. She had her masks fitted and specially designed so that she could still enjoy tea while she wore them, but it was still a delicate art to avoid covering herself in the dark liquid. An art she had perfected over the years.
"More tea ma'am?" said a deep voice from behind her, and Marcus Bolo, her infallible butler and manservant materialised from where he had been standing.
"No thank you Marcus I am quite alright," she said, her voice melodic and light, but with a hint of the deadly intelligence she had acquired over the years, "What time was our appointment in town?"
She knew perfectly well what time their appointment with the Pirate was, she knew Marcus knew too. The man never missed a beat, but she asked anyway, some part of the daily facade they played with each other.
"Noon Ma'am," Marcus replied without batting an eyelid, "Just under two hours."
"Of course," she replied lightly, her demeanor as unreadable as usual, "How silly of me. Come, fetch Nassara and bring the carriage around the front. I must go and fetch my things."
"Of course lady Harlington," Marcus said with a bow, "At once."

~Early that morning~

Kalila lay on her soft cot in the inn she and her guardian were staying in.

It wasn't the nicest of inns, but then they weren't in the places. They were in the Kingdom of Thieves, the Kingless Kindom.

Nassau. Land of the Pirates. Pirates, from all the lands did their business here, having no sovereign, this was a safe harbor for pirates to dock, careen their ships, trade their wares, and bed whores for the right price.

This was no place for a 15 year old girl nor was it a place for a highborn Princess of Jeddah and the incarnation of a Goddess...and yet here she was, laying on a bed, her guardian sleeping not far from her.

Kalila rose from her bed, looking at him. She knew she didn't like making him crazy with worry but she had a mission, she couldn't ignore it. The voices in her head were too strong, too loud.

If she didn't obey, they'd start to scream...and so would she.

"Find him."
"Stop him."
"Help her."
"Find her."

They repeated in her head as she stood, her brown hair hanging stringyly around her soft round face, her large doe eyes watching the moon that hung over Nassau.

She didn't want to leave, she didn't want to do half of the things she did but it was Ishka's will...Ishka...sometimes was a bully.

Kalila then leapt from the large window, her fall broken by a cloth awning that hung over the inn entrance.

"Find her."

Kalila began walking, down the dark cold streets of Nassau, alone but unafraid.

She knew, no one in this place could stop her.

~Presently~

"Filth and foul, why on earth have we come here?"

Kalila stood behind her guardian, unmoving and statuesque in the ever moving bustling streets of Nassau. She didn't say a word, which wasn't rare for Kalila but this was Jarrak, her only friend...so she believed, or atleast wanted to. It couldn't be easy chasing her around, he'd been doing it since she was born, she actually remembered the day, she was presented to him, she was still wrapped in a soft blanket, tucked into her mother's arms, watched by her father whose face was stern yet held a proud gleam in his eyes as he gazed down at her. Jarrak had been her father's apprentice and had been tasked with being Kalila's guardian. She never saw him that way, and the first word she ever spoke, was spoken to him. She was 10 at the time.

She walked up to him, and grabbed his hand. Wordlessly, looking at him with her large eyes and tapped the side of her head in reply to his rhetorical question. As if to say 'My head' He knew exactly why she was here.

She was on a mission. A divine one.

Damien & Sebastian

Damien and Sebastian were slipping in between the crowds easily enough until they spotted each other and got an even brighter idea. Both knew their crew was somewhere around them, grabbing purses and anything that suits their fancy while Damien and Sebastian just grabbed things they could sell. The two purposefully bumped into each other, hard, and Damien fell to the ground easily.

"How dare you?" Damien demanded as he stood angrily. Sebastian rolled his eyes. "Seriously Jack, you might as well try to not dress like a pig," Sebastian says with an almost drawling voice, not looking like his brother with the fake beard his men had assisted him with that morning. Damien had blonde hair at the moment making them look even less like brothers.

Damien looked down at his clothes, truly distraught. Did Sebastian truly not like his clothes? He was wearing a red soldiers jacket he had found over a loose shirt and pants that allowed movement without being baggy. His boots were relatively clean as was his earring which was nothing but a large blue sapphire in his right ear.

"You know what, let's see how confident you are with knife in your stomach," Damien demands as he charges his brother, grabbing him by the shoulder and bringing his knee up to knock the wind out of Sebastian. Sebastian went down, momentarily looking up at the surrounding crowd before smiling and holding his stomach as he waited for Damien to jump on him only to roll away and kick out at his brothers ribs.

Damien didn't look happy as he glared at his brother, the two grappling another minute before their first mate, Kato, pulled them apart. "Boys boys, your mothers are going to hear about this," He says as he holds them at least a foot off the ground. Kato was a giant and at least seven feet tall. He was burly with a lot of muscle and tanned skin. He looked like the devil himself when he wanted to be though he was anything but as he was a sweet guy when he wasn't angry and was under your command.

"Kato, let us go," Sebastian demands as the two are held apart. Kato shakes his head as if wondering why they had given them this job. Kato was the only one that didn't like to steal for whatever reason, so he just closed their mission up with a nice touch so people didn't think anything was going on. During their brawl, the entire crew had had a stealing spree and were not weighed down with twice as much as before to sell.

Kato took the two boys down an alley and dropped them rather unceremoniously. Kato smiled down at the twins as he messed up Damien's hair. "You, sir, look strange without black hair," Kato says as he passes Kato what looks like an old comb. Kato accepts it, brushing away whatever Sebastian had put in his hair that morning. Meanwhile, Sebastian wiped away the fake beard. The two, yet again, looked exactly like each other.

If, and when, people recognized the twins, some would avoid them, others would try to apprehend them, then the smart ones would just get out of their way and let them do whatever they wanted. They did, after all, have Kato with them.

Damien and Sebastian began walking down the street, both looking around them. They had docked a week or so ago in hopes of having a break from getting chased and have a vacation of sorts here in Nassau.

"Want to go see if there are any pretty ladies nearby?" Damien asks his brother with a smile as he watches a group of what must be whores walk by. His mood towards them is foul however, anyone who does it like they do is not someone he wants to be with.

Just then Sebastian spots a man knee another man in the stomach. He frowned as he walked towards the two angry. "Hey, hey you, this may be Nassau, but even pirates aren't cruel to everyone they ever meet," Damien calls to the man as he walks towards him. Sebastian passes the older man a necklace from their morning of stealing, then points him to the alley before going with Damien towards the man. Kato helped the older fellow to the alley to sit down.

Damien watched as a girl went up beside him and held his hand. Sebastian stepped in front of the fellow, pretty pissed off now. Sure he had done the same to hundreds of men, but never to such an old man that had nothing up his sleeve, the twins however, had much up their sleeves. They could tell a thief when they saw one and the old man was legitimately an old man.

"Damien, do you believe that was a very good thing to say?" Sebastian asks as he hears what the fellow says. Damien shakes his head as if he was sad. "No, I believe that was in fact a very bad thing to say," Damien says, icy cold towards the man.

Damien tried not to look at the younger, very pretty girl beside the man, and succeeded, partially. "Damien, stop staring at the girl," Sebastian says knowing exactly what Damien was slightly distracted by. Damien shakes his head as if to clear it as he steps forward towards the man.

"Hey guy, just know you shouldn't say stuff like that, or do stuff like that in a city full of pirates, older homeless people, and idiots looking for fights. Also, you should really get this girl off the street if you want her to live another night. I'm not threatening you, but with looks like that, any and a lot of pirates will want a night with her, and any slaver might just grab her," Damien says quietly, under his breath as he saw another crowd forming around them.

"People, people, my brother and I must warn you to back away. How about we all celebrate a wonderful day tonight with a round of drinks that we pay for? Meet by the tavern in front of our ship," Sebastian offers, knowing anyone that knew them would know their ship.

Damien looks the guy who seems to be in charge of the girl up and down before holding out his hand. "Hey, got anything you would like to give to the old man that you just possibly injured very badly? Not everyone here is young, and he probably can't take a punch like we can, so don't be rash and stupid," Damien says before getting cut off by Sebastian. "Like he is most of the time."

Damien holds his hand out again, looking at something that seems to be on the mans shoulder and brushing what might be dirt off it. "Now seriously, pay up for an old man that deserves something after that treatment. I may be a pirate, but I'm not going to hit some random person," Damien says in an almost friendly way.

Kalila's hands dropped to her side as the two boys approached them. The one seemed to be avoiding looking at her while the other's eyes were locked on Jarrak.

They had a 67 percent chance of getting out of this without a fight.

The odds were low.

Kalila stepped in front of Jarrak, as the one invaded his personal space, Jarrak wouldn't react well to that.

Kalila looked up at the boy, he wasn't much older then her, a few years or so. She reached up and touched his face, examining it and in the same moment began to convulse, her slate grey eyes never moving from his as flashes images passed before her eyes. Blood, a stone room, pain.

This is why she never liked to be touched. Jarrak, her mother and father were the only people able to touch her, she could see the past. She could only touch her father when her mother was around to hinder her ability...she tried it once and was unconscious for a week.

Kalila's eyes began to roll behind her head.

"F-fff for your...brrottthheer...." She said before dropping unconscious.

Alexandrine sat in a bar, a hood covering her head as a crowd of people suddenly poured in, her eyes were on the dark skinned man who seemed to be talking to himself. She watched him as lightning flung from his fingertips.

Her eyes narrowed but she waited for him to calm.

As the crowd rushed in. Alexandrine moved to a barstool beside him. The rogue ordered another drink for the both of them.

"People might dz'ing your crazy, with dz'e way you go on by yourself like dz'at." She said, her voice low, her Velalian accent thick in her words. "Dz'ere is alot of magic in, Nassau, but never on such display...no'dzing real anyway." She said sipping her drink.

Damien & Sebastian

Damien stared at the girl as she stepped in front of him. He was surprised that she would do it after what he had just said even though he hadn't threatened her. Sebastian made as if to protest when the girl reached up to touch Damien's face. Sebastian froze, his gaze on his brother as he watched the girl, looking for anything that might possibly hurt him.

"Hey, little lady, I don't know what you're doing but I-," Damien stops as he see her start to convulse. "Sebastian what do I do? Damien asks his brother as he looks at the girl unsure what to do. His brother knew how to handle these situations better than he did. He wasn't a medical person whatsoever, quite the contrary actually.

Only then did his back race with pain. He had these occasionally, ghost pains from the day in the dungeon. He remembered only bits of it, but would always remember that it happened because of what his tormentor put on his back. The scars that spelled out the man's name felt as if he was being branded again.

Damien didn't scream, but felt his knees buckle slightly. This girl, he knew then that she wasn't what she appeared to be. "F-fff for your...brrottthheer...." She said before dropping unconscious. Damien caught her as she fell down and was able to land on his back, keeping her from getting stuck under him, but letting out a gasp of pain as his back made contact with the hard stone.

Nobody knew that Damien had done it for his brother but his brother, and there was only one thing that this girl could have seen. He didn't want anything to do with her, didn't want her to think he's any different than who he is, but didn't want to leave her either, even with the guy who must be her protector.

Sebastian pushed the man away and knelt by his brother. "Damien, Damien listen to me, we have to get you back to the ship. Hold it together for a few more minutes, got it?" Sebastian says to his brother who swallowed and nodded. He hated this, absolutely hated this. Rarely did it happen in public or during the day, but today it seemed to be full out and horrible.

Their crew kept the gathering crowd back and at bay so as not to watch Damien in his current state, a good crew constantly. "Let her go Damien," Sebastian whispers as Damien didn't realize he was still holding onto the girl.

Instantly, Damien released her and Sebastian picked her up like she was nothing, passing her off to her guardian before reaching down to scoop Damien up over his shoulder, his brother exhausted from the episode.

Sebastian eyed the girl and her protector. "If I ever see you hurt anyone here who didn't deserve it again, you can sure as hell bet that I will come at you without hesitation. Got it?" Sebastian asks as he holds his brother close.

Sebastian turns to leave before hearing Damien's voice in his ear. "Get them to come with us. She might be able to help us Sebastian," Damien says as he continues to breath in a labored way.

Sebastian sighs as he turns to face the man. "Come with us, I have something that'll make her feel better and you can sure as hell bet that our ship will be far safer than wherever you lot are staying," Sebastian says as he nods towards the docks not too far away and the twins' ship.

Sebastian began to walk, leading the way with his crew still packed tightly around them. He wondered if the man would follow, he had after all just threatened the mans life. Then again, if he knew what was good for his ward he would bring her to the ship.

Sebastian set Damien down on his bed in their cabin, leaning his now sleeping brother up to remove the shirt before flipping him over and looking at the scarred back. The letters on his back were jagged and the two were unsure what was used to make them, but they both knew what it did to Damien.

Sebastian didn't know if the man and the girl followed, but motioned towards his bed while kneeling by Damien, not looking away. The man could set the girl there if he wished, and was even present, but Sebastian truly didn't care when he looked at Damien and wondered what to give him this time for the pain.

Jarrack watched the two boys cooly, as they got all worked up over one old man in a sick city, "Children." he thought, though he was not much more than a child himself. Kalila stepped out in front of him and he let her move. Kalila was more than capable of looking after herself and never did anything without somehow knowing that she would be ok, even if it didn't appear that way.
She reached up to his face and he protested briefly before his eyes went wide and his knees buckled beneath him. Jarrack had seen it happen before, but was still too slow to catch her as she fell into the stunned boy, "Forrr... yourr... Brotthhhheerrr..." She sighed as she fell.
The other twin panicked as his brother fell and quickly jumped on his brother, "Damien, Damien listen to me, we have to get you back to the ship. Hold it together for a few more minutes, got it?"
A crowd was forming but appeared to be kept back from them by associates of the two ruffians, keeping prying eyes away as the second twin helped the first form the ground, bring up the exhausted kalila with him. "Let her go Damien," the second whispered to the first. After helping his brother two his feet the twin helped Kalila up and passed her back to Jarrak, who caught her deftly and picked her up into his arms. The second twin glared at Jarrak, "If I ever see you hurt anyone here who didn't deserve it again, you can sure as hell bet that I will come at you without hesitation. Got it?"
They turned to leave but they stopped and the collapsed twin whispered something into his brothers ear, the second then turned back, his face still a scowl, "Come with us, I have something that'll make her feel better and you can sure as hell bet that our ship will be far safer than wherever you lot are staying," before they walked off in the direction of the docks.
"Gods Kalila, you dont half get us into these situations." He looked down at the girl barely conscious in his arms, "Kalila, I follow your wishes, what do you believe we should do? What do the voices say?"

Jarrak followed the twins carrying Kalila in his arms. He was used to doing it, Kalila collapsing was no new event, the voices and abilities coursing through her body and mind took their toll on her body. She was after all just a little girl.
He felt no remorse for the old man in the street. His master had taught him to be ruthless and uncompromising, and he had a quick temper to begin with, always stressing about Kalila, and what mischief she could be up to.
The two boys seemed harmless enough, especially in a land of pirates and cutthroats, and he had to admit, killing Pirates on a ship was easier than killing thugs in a city.
If it could indeed be called a city. It had no ruler, no governing body, it was ruled by gangs and pirates, thugs and scoundrels, it was not city, it was chaos.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lady Harlington rode in her carriage silently, not that her company spoke much anyway. The silent woman opposite was clad in black cloth from head to toe, with nothing but her eyes visible, which were dark and beautiful. Her name was Nassara, and she served as her loyal bodyguard and handmaiden.
Lady Harlington peered through the curtains of the Carriage upon the streets of Nassau. No matter how many times she looked upon these streets there was always something new to see. It was part of the reason she stayed, boredom with the rest of the world.
There were people of every stripe in Nassau, every country and walk of life, and she was very, very good at discovering who was what, and something caught her eye.
A young man, Dark of skin with curly brown hair and the look of a warrior, and in his arms...
A girl, young and beautiful, her face unblemished, her hair dark and long, her clothes were fine if simple. She was not from here, anyone of note, anyone who could afford such clothes, she knew on this island, and she did not know this girl.
"Marcus Darling," she called to the front of the carriage, "Pull over would you?"
"Yes Ma'am." He replied, and the carriage pulled over to the side of the street, stopping before the two strangers. Nassara opened the door and stepped out, hands behind her back and head bowed.
Lady Harlington stepped out into the street, her garish, flamboyant dress and white mask, making her shine like a bizzare, colourful beacon in the street.
"Hello my dear," She said, in her musical, melodramatic voice, "My name is Lady Elizabeth Benezia Harlington, and on behalf of The higher society on Nassau, I welcome, you. What might your names be my darlings?"

Kalila shrieked and buried her face in Jarraks chest, whimpering there at the sight of the strange woman in the vivid clothes and white mask.
"Kalila, Kalila what's wrong?" He asked, squeezing the girl tighter to his chest.
"Oh my my!" The strange woman, Elizabeth, said shocked, covering the mouth with a sharp gesture of her hand, "The poor dear! Marcus! You brute, you near scared the poor girl to death!"
"Apologies Ma'am." The man said not skipping a beat.
Jarrack wasn't sure what Kalilas outburst was about, but he was sure it wasn't the large dark skinned man at the head of the carriage
"Please, excuse me for my manservants terrible treatment of you, please, allow me to escort you to where you are going, come, come inside, your arms must be so tired young man." Elizabeth said, gently but firmly herding Jarrak and Kalila into her carriage, the door held open by Nassara.
"Wait, we aren't-" Jarrak began but was cut off by the extravagant woman.
"No! I'll hear no more of it! I simply must atone for my terrible treatment of you thus far. Please! Come now!" She said, bustling them into the carriage with haste. Once they were all seated again, the man at the front, Marcus his name was, continued on down the street. "Now," the woman said, her face unreadable beneath the mask but her voice bright and sophisticated, "Who might you lovely little doves be? I can always tell when someone is new to Nassau," She paused an tapped her porcelain nose, "And I can always tell when they are not mere travellers."
Jarrak looked from Elizabeth, to the veiled woman, then down to Kalila who was still leaning against his shoulder, firmly wrapped around his arm, "Kalila?"

Damien & Sebastian

Damien looked over Sebastian's shoulder and nodded in the direction of Sebastian's bed. "What?" Sebastian asks, almost annoyed at his brother. He sat up, dizzy and tired, his back stinging faintly as he looked at the empty bed until Damien looked over.

"Well? What do you want me to do about it? They didn't want to come it's not my fault," Sebastian says down to his brother who scowls up at him. "Come on Sebastian, this could be our chance to know what happened that night. Not many people can do that to me, you know that, maybe she can read minds or something. We'll never know unless we talk to her. Please, just go ask her guardian if she could come here for ten minutes. Ten, then we can ask her and if she knows anything, we'll know it," Sebastian says, begging in a way his brother had never heard before.

Sebastian looks down at his brother, this wasn't his usual want for a girl, but he wanted to know what happened that night in the cell where he didn't remember anything about his captor but what he left on Damien's back. "Fine... I'll go talk to them." Sebastian says as he goes above deck.

"Kato, see where the two went instead of here?" Sebastian asks as he looks out among the crowd searching for them. He spotted one carriage that was all too familiar. Some Lady who he and Damien called Harlington for short. They had once snuck onto her estate to see if there was anything valuable, grabbed only a hat and an earring, which Damien wore often, then fled after seeing her big bodyguard of a man.

Kato only pointed and Sebastian didn't know he did until he looked back at his friend confused, then followed the mans hand to the exact carriage he had been watching.

"Oh shit," Kato mutters as he sees the Lady inside and wasn't too happy about it. "Is that-, oh gods it's Nassara and Marcus." Stealing them back would be impossible. He could do it with the help of his crew, but he didn't want to involve them over Damien's own matters. He was just not strong enough to face the Lady's manservant, and he wasn't sure he could hurt Nassara for his own reasons. But where were they going. It looked as if they were coming straight for Lucifer's Angel, as if she were bringing them to Sebastian.

"Kato, what's going on?" Sebastian asked as he walked to the side of his ship by the boarding plank. He sat down, swinging his legs overboard and sat there on the railing to watch what played out.

He looked like a child, but had killed more people than most the men on his ship. It was actually kind of sad, but he didn't regret doing it. He had been hungry once, he didn't want it again.

Sebastian drew his gun and layed it in his lap as he leaned back against some ropes. Sebastian spotted the young girl, shrinking into herself in a way as she tried to avoid something in the carriage, or at least that's how it seemed from where he was.

"Kato, make sure Damien doesn't do anything stupid," Sebastian says as he jumps down to the dock. Kato looks down at him. "Like you're about to do?" Kato asks and Sebastian smiles back. "Yep," He says simply before walking towards the carriage.

He should have taken off the lady's hat that he was wearing, but didn't really care as they got closer and closer. "All of a sudden I'm trying to get this girl away from Harlington and keep Damien out of trouble when he is already in trouble. Maybe this girl just wants to do what she wants, away from us. At least I get to see my old friends," Sebastian says almost to himself.

He walked up to Marcus as the carriage neared the intersection where it could either go to the docks, or ride along the side of the the water. He nodded to Marcus, then walked right past them to the carriage door.

Why was he doing this? He really didn't know. He grabbed onto the carriage as it continued to move and knocked on the door as he held on, disregarding the strange looks he was getting. "Hello Lady Elizabeth, long time no see. Nassara, a pleasure as always," Sebastian says, his voice going from false to gentle as he talked to Nassara.

"Hey, I know you don't like me, I don't like you, but my brother wants to talk to your friend here, ten minutes maximum, then you can get on your way with this lady," Sebastian says as he pulls back the curtain to look at the girl and her guardian. Sebastian looks at Lady Elizabeth with a smile. "I know we've had our differences in the past, but I promise not to kill you today if you promise you won't kill me. Sound like a plan?" Sebastian asks with his brother's charming smile that he had only recently mastered and rarely used for lack of caring. Sebastian was thankful that he didn't have bad teeth like most pirates, but white teeth amazingly enough. As did Damien too.

Sebastian didn't think Nassara would kill him instantly, rather she would threaten him, though he had a hand on his hidden knife in his shirt with the hand not holding the carriage. His head halfway in the carriage, his foot on the footrest, Sebastian leaned in carefully to avoid a group of women passing by outside. "Really, just a few minutes of your time," Sebastian says to the young girl directly, almost pleading. He didn't think Harlington would let him see the girl, but didn't really care as he would see to it that see came if she wanted to.

"Such a strange little darling..." Elizabeth thought, watching the rocking child who seemed determined not to look at her, "Perhaps the girl is touched." Suddenly the door to the carriage opened and her private meeting was interrupted by a young boy, she knew him what was his name? Damien? No, that was his brother, she had a talent for faces and this was his brother, Sebastian.
"Hello Lady Elizabeth, long time no see. Nassara, a pleasure as always," The boy said, his voice going from sarcastic to truthful in the blink of an eye. Nassara gave him nothing in return but a cool glare.
"Awww, the poor dear..." Elizabeth thought, smiling slightly beneath her mask.
"Hey, I know you don't like me, I don't like you, but my brother wants to talk to your friend here, ten minutes maximum, then you can get on your way with this lady," Sebastian said pulling back the curtain and checking on Her two guests before turning back to her with a smile as fake as the one on her mask, "I know we've had our differences in the past, but I promise not to kill you today if you promise you won't kill me. Sound like a plan?"
Elizabeth let out a sweet, high pitched giggle and raised a delicate hand over her mouth, "My dear little Sebastian, you naughty boy, it is terribly bad manners to enter a ladies carriage without her permission, its a quick route to a slit throat," She leaned in and gently lifted his chin with a delicate gloved hand, "Or a hole in the head." She said, just as softly, and the click of a flintlock hammer alerted everyone to Marcus's pistol, the barrel of which was an inch from Sebastian's temple. There was a cold silence as Elizabeths blank stare hovered in front of Sebastian, "I would improve my manners, if I were you." There was another, unbearably long pause before she let go of his chin and sat but up with a delighted giggle, "But my my my, your just far to adorable to ruin. Marcus, you terror you! Put that gun away!" she said cheerily.
"Of course Ma'am." He said, holstering his pistol but leaving his ominous presence looming like a stormcloud.
"Now, of course my guests may speak with you quickly if they desire it, I am a host not a gaoler." She said with a laugh, looking at Jarrak and Kalila
Jarrack glared at the twin, Sebastian his name was, "As much as I would much rather leave you to your business, oh rightious defender of old men. I follow my Ward." He looked down at Kalila, "Kalila, what would you like to do?"

Kalilas sudden movement to kiss Nassara didn't shock Jarrak in the slightest, she was prone to odd behaviour and erratic gestures of love and scorn. The startled Nassara didn't far as well, her eyes going wide as she stiffened at the physical contact, her hands instinctively going to something beneath her robes but was not drawn. She then hopped out of the carriage, leaving the stunned Nassara wide eyed inside.
Elizabeth giggled and leaned over to her handmaid, "I would think that she likes you my dear," She whispered seductively, "Almost as much as I do."
"Thank you for your hospitality lady Harlington," Jarrak said with a nod, "But I suggest you don't wait for us, Kalila can be... Erratic. We wouldn't wish to keep you."
"Of course Darling!" She exclaimed with a melodramatic wave before setting her hand on his shoulder, "Should you wish to find me again, I would be more than happy to host your stay here in Nassau," She turned back to Sebastian, her hand still firmly clasped on Jarraks shoulder, "Good Sebastian will be able to direct you to my Estate. I am sure he remembers the way." She turned back to Jarrak, "Safe travels dear, I hope to see you soon."
"Thank you Lady Harlington." Jarrak said before exiting the carriage. There were few people on earth he feared. One was Kalilas father, this woman was another.
"Marcus! Let us away!" she said with a cheerful cry.
"Of course ma'am!" He exclaimed back and the carriage launched off down the street with the crack of whips.
Jarrak turned to Sebastian, "Lead the way, Pirate."

Damien & Sebastian

Lady Elizabeth seemed to study Sebastian as he held on before she finally spoke, not includin Nassara still appearing to hate him even if he couldn't help that she didn't like him, most likely because she thought he was a pirate.

Elizabeth let out a sweet, high pitched giggle and raised a delicate hand over her mouth, "My dear little Sebastian, you naughty boy, it is terribly bad manners to enter a ladies carriage without her permission, its a quick route to a slit throat," She leaned in and gently lifted his chin with a delicate gloved hand, "Or a hole in the head." He nearly choked in surprise. He wasn't touched often, only by Damien or Kato in fact. Most others didn't want to touch a young boy who had killed.

Just as Sebastian was going to interrupt, the click of a flintlock hammer alerted everyone to Marcus's pistol, the barrel of which was an inch from Sebastian's temple. Sebastian smiled as there was a cold silence while Elizabeths blank stare hovered in front of Sebastian, "I would improve my manners, if I were you." There was another, unbearably long pause before she let go of his chin and sat but up with a delighted giggle, "But my my my, your just far to adorable to ruin. Marcus, you terror you! Put that gun away!" she said cheerily.

Sebastian hated Marcus, the brute, but knew he wouldn't shoot without his lady's permission, and she hadn't shot him yet whenever she saw him, so why would she shoot him now? Besides, she probably didn't want his blood on her gloves. Sebastian gave him a look, nodding at him to go ahead and remove the gun.

"Of course Ma'am." He said, holstering his pistol but leaving his ominous presence looming like a stormcloud. Sebastian gave him a little wave as he looked back in the carriage. He would get killed one day for joining a carriage without permission, but that day wasn't today.

"Now, of course my guests may speak with you quickly if they desire it, I am a host not a gaoler." She said with a laugh, looking at Jarrak and Kalila. Sebastian shrugged. "Yeah, well, you're not an angel either," Sebastian muttered under his breath, so quiet that nobody could have hear him.

Jarrack glared at the twin, Sebastian his name was, "As much as I would much rather leave you to your business, oh righteous defender of old men. I follow my Ward." He looked down at Kalila, "Kalila, what would you like to do?" Sebastian made a face as he watched the guy.

"To be honest, I don't need you, Damien just wants to talk to the girl, just talk," Sebastian says to be clear that was literally all he wanted to do in it's entirety. "And I am not righteous, I just don't do people being cruel. Anyone I've ever hurt, I've done it quickly and with the least amount of pain as possible," Sebastian says thoughtfully.

Kalila had apparently been watching the exchange between the two, Sebastian and Lady Harlington. She stopped her rocking and looked at Jarrak as he asked her what she wanted. The girl was too young to be around killers, thieves, and torturers.

She looked at the scarved woman, blinked a few times, before gutting forward, and pressing a quick, and gentle kiss to her scarved mouth. Sebastian nearly let go of the carriage just because of this, only holding on at the last second. "What the-," Sebastian began before cutting himself off, watching the two with wide eyes.

With that, Kalila climbed out of the carriage and stood beside Sebastian, her head down, her face guarded. "I will not ever understand women, ever," Sebastian says amazed as he steps down from the carriage and looks down at the girl.

Elizabeth giggled and leaned over to her handmaid, "I would think that she likes you my dear," She whispered seductively, "Almost as much as I do." Sebastian nearly shivered at her tone. This woman really freaked him out and he wanted to get away from her. He could still feel her touching him and he hated it.

"Thank you for your hospitality lady Harlington," Jarrak said with a nod, "But I suggest you don't wait for us, Kalila can be... Erratic. We wouldn't wish to keep you." Sebastian looked around incredulously, acting amazed "Really? You sure?"

I am sure he remembers the way."

"I see you've noticed my hat then. Yeah I remember the gaudy place," Sebastian says crossing his arms. She turned back to Jarrak, "Safe travels dear, I hope to see you soon."

"Thank you Lady Harlington." Jarrak said before exiting the carriage. "You're going to get yourself killed," Sebastian says, truly amazed that the guy wasn't dead yet. "Marcus! Let us away!" she said with a cheerful cry. "Of course ma'am!" He exclaimed back and the carriage launched off down the street with the crack of whips. He really was a puppet.

Jarrak turned to Sebastian, "Lead the way, Pirate." Sebastian shakes his head at the man. "You really are going to kill yourself. You have encountered three of the most known killers and pirates of the world and you have been very sassy to two of them. And you just really piss me off," Sebastian says annoyed now as he turns to walk towards his ship which wasn't far since they were dropped off at the docks.

"Also, a tip to you, don't call a pirate a pirate to his face when you're on his ship. There's a lot more of them then there are of you, and you will be dead, very quickly," Sebastian says simply as he waves his hand at his ship. He boards the plank, muttering something under his breath.

"Kato, is Damien awake yet?" Sebastian asks Kato. Kato shakes his head no, then nods appreciatively having watched the exchange from the ship. Everyone on the ship was lounging about right now, really just tired after a morning of work.

"Come on then," Sebastian says as he motions for the two to follow him below the stern's deck. Sebastian went below, seeing Damien standing in front of the mirror in just his pants and boots. "Kato didn't come down did he?" Sebastian asks and Damien just shakes his head. "Everyone on our ship is mute today," Sebastian declares before walking in.

Damien turned back to the mirror, but when he saw two more people enter, he nearly panicked as he turned back around trying to block what they probably already saw. "You couldn't have warned me they were coming in?" Damien demands as he breaths deeply, trying to catch his breath. He sighed as he stood.

"So, guess who I ran into today?" Sebastian asks a he sits on his bed, pouring some water and offering it to the their guests before setting it on the table for whenever they wanted it. "I don't really care." Damien offers as he moves to take the class, knowing that hiding his back from these two was impossible since they already saw it.

"Lady Harlington," Sebastian declares with a smile. Damien coughs on his water, setting the cup down. "Really? You didn't get in trouble for the hat?" Damien asks and Sebastian shrugs. "Nothing unusual," Sebastian says referring to his near death experience. He didn't know how many times he'd nearly died.

"Hey, so, little lady, I just need your help with something, please," Damien says going up to her and looking down at her. He makes a motion at Sebastian who stands and pulls her guardian into the hall gently, closing the door behind him. "He's not going to hurt her, he just needs to talk to her in private. I dislike you greatly. Did you know that?" Sebastian asks as he motions for the guy to go above deck, ready to follow.

Meanwhile Damien looks at the girl, unsure how to start. "Please, I need to know who did this. Can you tell me?" Damien asks as he takes a deep breath then turns his back on her. On his back, the letters Benez stood out. Almost half finished with what might have been an l, i, n, m, p, or something else. One couldn't tell how it was there, and only Damien knew, but hadn't even told Sebastian. It wasn't finished, that's for sure. Damien prayed she could tell him something about it.

Damein

Kalila gave Jarrak a nod. She stood silently as Damien turned to her shirtless.Kalila frowned, coming very close, her fingers tracing the letter lines on his skin.

Damien didn't know she was close until he felt her fingers tracing the letters and he tensed. He tried to breath deeply, tried not freaking out that someone was touching the scars. Then things got freaky. Through the touch, he could hear her thoughts. "I can only see what you saw...." She appeared to have said, though Damien didn't hear it like he normally would.

His heart dropped, then he thought back to that night. He had seen his attackers, he just couldn't remember them after they did something. Maybe they hit his head around too much and that's why he couldn't remember.

"If you know, I know." She told him, still tracing the letters. "I can only help you remember..." She thought to him and dropped her hand. Damien smiled in disbelief as he realized what that meant. He turned around excited, grabbing her hand, then stopped as he looked down at her, less than a handswidth away. He dropped her hand, then just looked again.

He just looks at her amazed before saying out loud, "I remember that night, but not the faces or the people. You're not completely normal are you?" Damien realized how close they were and stepped back. He didn't know what was up with this girl. She was younger than him and he didn't know how old she was. He didn't want to make her uncomfortable in any way but wasn't sure if that would or could be helped.

He took a seat on his bed, looking up at her. "How can you help me remember?" Damien asks, regaining his composure after he took a few deep breaths. He was not one to loose his composure in front of ladies, quite the contrary actually. He still couldn't believe she was here in front of him. "Are you okay? You did seem to pass out today," Damien says looking at her curious and slightly concerned. Why was he concerned? He just met the girl.

She was pretty and seemed as if he might know her from something. Was it the eyes? Had he seen those somewhere before? He had no clue, but he certainly wanted to know. He moved over to allow her a place to sit if she wanted. "How much of it do you see? And can you feel it too?" Damien asks, not knowing how much she can feel.

Damien

Damien just smiled as she nodded, surprised that she didn't seem to talk much compared to himself.

When she sat beside him, Damien sat back against the wooden wall and watched her. When she nodded at his asking if she felt it, Damien hesitated. Could he make her go with him to face it again? "I don't... I don't know if I can do that to you," Damien says softly as he watches her, guilty. He wasn't a bad person in his eyes, he was reckless and arrogant and stupid sometimes, but he wasn't one to inflict pain for the fun of it or without caring.

When she touched him on his head this time, Damien watched her hands before looking back into those gray eyes. "Think about that night and we will go," Her voice echoed into his head in a way. "I'm sorry," He says after hearing her, fearful she wouldn't forgive him after this.

He took a deep breath before going back. He remembered a lot of it and felt almost as if he was there again. He sat on the ground of the cold cell, one window at least ten feet above his head and barred. The place stank and was covered in stains that he knew was blood. Chains had been around his hands and ankles and he had watched the window above him, listening to the lapping of the waves outside. Occasionally a splash of ocean water came in and soaked him again and again.

He had gotten bored, really bored and had begun to play with the chains at his wrists, trying to get them off and avoid looking at what was on the wall next to him. A rack of what was probably going to be his worst nightmare soon enough. He was only fifteen at the time, just barely 5'10" and skinnier than most of the beggars on the streets of Nassau, his favorite city in the world.

He couldn't tell how long he had been in there. He had just been thrown in there after he had been caught having pushed Sebastian into the water to avoid being seen by the people they were stealing from. Their most recent captain, a cruel man, had wanted them to steal something and sure enough, they had done it.

This was how his nightmare or attacks started, him sitting there and doing nothing when all of a sudden he was on the ground, facedown, struggling to breath before he felt another strike of pain, with what, he didn't know. He didn't know what he had used against him, but he did remember sitting in a pool of his own blood for hours. He remembered getting burned, or something like it.

However, he didn't find himself facedown on the ground as he was thinking back to it. He looked around, more aware that he was there and that he was just trying to remember than anything else. "Girl?" He asked nothing as he sat there in the small pool of sunlight the cold cell allowed in. He still didn't even know her name. It was something like Kayla, wasn't it? Kalia maybe. He would just ask her to make things better.

Damien

Damien looks at her and nods, feeling his breathing coming unevenly now. Kalila. It was a pretty name and he had been close. She had kneeled beside him, her face mere inches from his.

"Your captors will not hear or see me, and whatever they do, it is not real, the pain, the smells, it is not real, focus on that during the duration of this. I will be here the whole time. If I feel it becomes too much, I will end it, or if I begin to feel weak. Understood?' She said to him. He nodded, his stomach clenching and he felt himself getting sick as he felt weak again like on that night.

She looked behind her before soon they could here some sort of commotion from outside. Clearly seeing it before it happened. "It's starting. Remember it's not real. Are you ready?" Damien shakes his head as he presses himself against he back of the cell. His shirt was ragged and his shoes were gone.

"To be honest, I'll never be ready," He whispers quietly. Only then did the men burst in. Damien tried to take in their faces as much as possible, finally remembering their faces after so long. He hadn't seen them before, didn't remember them at all from anything else.

He pushed back, harder into the wall as he watched them come closer. One was tall and slim with sharp eyes and a hooked nose. The other was rather fat and seemed to be sweating badly. The last was taller than Kato and definitely the one in charge. All of which wore masks and made Damien feel dread that they would have to wait.

"Hey, I don't know what you guys want but I-," Damien begins before the lead guys hand was over his throat, pushing him against the back wall. His back felt different and wasn't scarred, though he was scared. The guy's hand felt like it was really choking Damien and he was beginning to panic when the guy let him go, giving him a chance to catch his breath as he hunched over.

"Get some things ready for the boy," The leader says as he watches Damien. Damien tried to think how things were going. Why was he here? What was going on? Who was that girl in the corner? What was her name again? Kalila. She was causing this so he could know who did it to him. He needed to know, because that might make his life so much better and easier.

"Let me go," Damien managed as he tried to sit up a little bit. The guy accepted an offered knife. Damien didn't know what to expect or what was going to happen but he knew it wouldn't be good.

Time dragged by in seconds and now as it appeared to be later with the sun beginning to set, Damien finally was allowed to sit up, really forced to. His face was barely distinguishable what with the bruises and cuts and blood coating it. His shirt hung limply at his waist having fallen from his shoulders hours ago. He was bleeding and bruised everywhere and he was having a hard time keeping his eyes open.

The two friends of the leader dragged him to be standing and his hands were put into chains higher against the wall, his stomach now facing the wall. It sure as hell didn't feel fake and Damien had forgotten that Kalila was there. The bucket of hot coals was brought closer and the group began their job on Damien's back. The leader took what appeared to be a metal brand with various letters in the bucket. When they were hot enough, Damien felt it pressed into his back. He hadn't screamed much so far, but this was where he couldn't help it and he let out a long agonized one.

"Kalila, Kalila how much longer?" Damien manages through gritted teeth. One of the fellows dragged a knife over the scorched skin, cutting it open now, deeply. The process continued until one seemed to get annoyed. "The mask is getting ridiculous, the boy can't even keep his eyes open," the fat one says as he removes his mask. Damien, half out of it, looks back in time to see the man's face, and his friend's face who had taken his mask off long ago.

"Idiots, he'll see you," The leader says as he catches Damien's eye. He had already finished most of the name and went ahead and decided to knock Damien out for the rest of it. The leader paused as he was about to brand the second to last letter, and approached Damien who passed o0t finally, welcoming the blackness.

He woke up what seemed like hours later, the cold hard floor beneath him as well as the red pooling of his blood. "Is it over?" He asks softly, his voice hoarse from screaming, hoping that whatever they were doing, why they came back, they could leave this place and be done with it forever.

Damien

He woke up and Kalila walked over to him, as he found himself back where he started. "Is it over?" Damien asks as he breaths rapidly, his flashback still fresh in his mind. How did this girl do this?

"No." She said walking over to him. She took his hands, and pulled him up, and in the process, making a copy of his conscious. Damien watched what looked to be himself sitting on the ground in front of him. It looked so much like Sebastian he couldn't look for a moment until he remembered who and what was going on.

"I had to let the memory play out, now, we can move through it and you will not feel the pain, but we much watch it again." She said and looked ahead, her eyes far off as the memory started to play again, this time Damien was watching it just as she did, her hand holding his. He couldn't look when they began, but remembered each thing that he felt and sympathized for the person who was yet wasn't him before him. It freaked him out to have someone so similar to Sebastian sitting there.

Damien was all to aware of the girl being close to him, her hand holding his as he watched the scene. He didn't feel anything towards her at that moment though while he watched the men. He wanted to know who they were and why they wanted to torture someone who couldn't have done anything to them.

Without looking at him, Kalila spoke. "You saw their faces. Even if it was only brief and you were barely conscious but you saw them, your mind logged the memory, and now you can revisit it." She said as the whole ordeal began again. She squeezed his hand and Damien looked down at their joined hands before looking back up at her and looking away, not sure why he didn't know how to act around her. She was a girl, he had kissed plenty, yet she was making him act weird.

Damien just nodded as he watched, his chest hurting as he it thought Sebastian was before him. He watched and when the men removed their masks, Damien watched himself struggle to look at them, then looked at the men himself. He didn't know them, didn't recognize them. It was weird to him and he didn't understand what was going on. "I've never seen these men before in my life," Damien says as he watches them, then looks to Kalila in wonder.

"Thank you, I'm sorry you had to see this. I won't ask you to have anything else to do with me or my brother, but know we are I indebted to you. You can stay with us if you wish, and we promise to help you with whatever you need," Damien offers with a weak smile as he looks back at his battered and bruised form and remembered that night better than ever.

Damien

Damien looked after Kalila, unsure what to do now as he looked down at his hands and sighed. He was tired, really tired, and didn't really want to see anyone either. He really wouldn't talk to anyone except Kalila probably considering she was the only one that seemed to know what had happened.

He was surprised that they had ended up there, same positions. Damien watched her go, his heart sinking as if fearful of something. He didn't know why, but he didn't think she should leave, or that her guardian should leave. He watched her and thought for a moment, remembering something he had heard, and suddenly realized where he recognized her.

"Kali- Wait a second... You're Kalila Misantri... You're the princess of Jeddah aren't you? You're probably in a great deal of danger princess. Nearly everyone in the pirating world knows you left home and they are all looking for you. You better be careful, and maybe get some new clothes. You look a lot like your parents you know?" Damien asks, now depressed at his findings.

She was a freaking princess. A princess! He just realized what he'd done now. He'd cursed, been a jerk, and had gotten much too close. If he had been in her kingdom, he'd probably be dead, or at least running for his life. He felt so stupid.

He stood up, grabbing his shirt as he did and slipping it over his head as he walked towards the door, opening it before he could to find an empty hall. "Do you ever speak? I mean other than in memories and minds?" Damien asks, wondering momentarily if she sounded the same out loud here. He looked down at her, curious and thoughtful. He would need to get these thoughts of her out of his head lest he get distracted and do something stupid. Well, stupider than usual that is.

Once she gave a response, Damien looked down at her and held up a hand. "Why do you help people like me?" Damien asks softly, curious as to why people seem to think he and his brother have more of a soul than other pirates though he wasn't quite sure.

As he looked down at her, Damien wondered if he could perhaps see something deeper in her soul like she seemed to be able to see in his own. Maybe her eyes had something to do with why Damien was distracted by her, or why she was able to see people's past in a way.

Damien

Kalila tapped her the side of her head in response. She noticed his gaze and met it. Why did she have to be so cryptic? It almost hurt the way she seemed to not be wanting to speak to him.

She walked toward the upper deck, and Damien followed. He walked towards Sebastian and Jarrak. Sebastian seemed to be ignoring Jarrak all together. Damien smiled slightly at this as he walked to lean over the railing, looking out at the sea, Sebastian watched him curiously, wondering if Damien would tell him what had happened.

Kalila sat on the floor in front of Jarrak's feet and lay on the wood. It was dirty and grimy but Kalila didn't care, she never did...and probably couldn't. Sebastian looked down confused and when he looked at Damien, Damien just shrugged. Not sure what he knew about this girl was good or not.

"Hey, go get some rest. Take our cabin," Damien offers, his voice void of emotion. He knew what he was doing that night. It had something to do with money and alcohol in one of the nearby taverns.

"Wait, I want my bed," Sebastian says. Damien shrugs and Sebsatian only then notices his brother's depressed appearance."What happened?" Sebastian asks softly, putting a hand on his brother's shoulder. Damien just shakes his head, not wanting to talk. "Later," He whispers and Sebastian just nods, understanding.

"Take our cabin. I'm heading into town to look for something to polish my knives," Damien says as he grabs his coat from Kato before leaving the ship, storming off really.

Sebastian just shakes his head after his brother. "Really, you need the cabin after encountering Harlington. A word of advice, a lot of people who cross her die, so avoid her if you can. It'll keep your neck from being slit," Sebastian says as he offers a hand to help Kalila up. "And thanks for helping my brother," Sebastian says though he wasn't sure why he was thanking her now.

Damien walked quickly, his head down in the afternoon sun. He didn't want to be around people he knew. He just wanted to be alone and thinking and possibly fighting and possibly gambling. He headed for one of his favorite brawling places in all of Nassau. He walked in and took a seat in the corner, having a drink right away as he looked at the ring of fighters below in the dirt. One was obviously better than another, but Damien knew he could take them.

Damien finished his drink right away, then stood, taking off his boot as he walked down to the ring. "I challenge," He says as the fight finishes. He drops his boot by the outer ring and steps in. He wanted to fight, to clear his mind and this was certainly a way to do it.

Neviah

Neviah slipped through the crowd of people, trying to avoid their touch as they watched her. She looked too young to be there, she felt too young to be there, but she sure as hell wasn't getting out of there until she got what she wanted and she wanted to find a map home.

Neviah therefore had to find a better way to find a good shop. She didn't like the looks she was getting and she really didn't like the bad feeling she was having. She looked around for a place to go. She was tired and though she would love to just go below water, she didn't know what was in the sea nearby. She slipped into an alley, her loose blue dress following her slim frame as she sat down and wrapped her arms around herself.

She had no money, didn't know anyone, and didn't know how to do anything. She watched the crowd, trying to keep her eyes open as much as she could though she felt herself dozing off in her exhaustion.

Lady Harlington continued down the street away from the odd pair of children and the irksome twin Sebastian. She wasn't worried about losing the odd two, they would turn up again she was sure, and nothing happened on Nassau without her hearing about it.
"Nassara dear, do we have the Correct documents for Miss Vara?" Elizabeth said, knowing full well they did, but carriage rides with a mute could be ever so dull.
Nassara nodded silently, her delicate hands producing a small leather binder from the folds of her robes and passing them to Lady Harlington. Elizabeth opened the binder and examined the contents inside, a few sheets of paper and a small quill.
"I trust you remembered the ink-" Elizabeth began before Nassara again procured a small tincture from the depths of her robe.
"Oh you such a good girl my dear," Elizabeth said, taking the tincture off Nassara and placing it in her purse, "What would I do without you?"
"We are almost at the Inn Ma'am." Marcus said through a small grate near where he sat at the head of the carriage.
"Thank you Marcus, wait with the carriage I am sure Nassara can escort me inside." She said, raising a small mirror and inspecting herself in it, despite the fact she wore no make up.
"As you wish Lady Harlington." He replied as the carriage came to a gentle stop.
Nassara opened the door and Lady Harlington stepped out on to the street, where she was given a wide birth. She wasn't exactly hard to miss, and she wasn't exactly to be trifled with. Before her stood the proud establishment of the Crying Angel, a place often used a a meeting point for when she was loath to receive guests at her estate. She walked inside and the building and the murmur of conversation all but died at her entrance. She loved that.
She spied Miss Redwater sitting at a table near the back and cried out to her, loudly, and with great amounts of melodrama.
"MARA! Oh Mara darling! How have you been?! You have been gone far too long truly!" She exclaimed as she hurried over in a most ladylike fashion to Maras table. "Barman," she said as she passed the bar, "A round of Drinks for Miss Vara at once!"
"Y-yes ma'am!" the man stammered as he hurried to ready the drinks. Elizabeth would not stay long, and would remember if the drinks were not there by the time she left.
Elizabeth sat down at the table, Nassara standing beside her to the left, "So my dear," Elizabeth said with glee, "What lovely little wonders have you brought me this time?"

Jarrak followed Kalila onto the ship and wandered down below to where the other twin was waiting. He didn't like leaving her alone but he was to follow her orders, so when she nodded for him to leave her alone and follow Sebastian. He was less than pleased to begin with.
"He's not going to hurt her, he just needs to talk to her in private. I dislike you greatly. Did you know that?" Sebastian said as he indicated for them both to go above and wait for the pair to be done, gods did the boy ever stop talking.
"The feeling is mutual. And I trust you two about as much as wolf trusts a trap." Jarrak said walking away and towards the stairs that lead to the upper deck, "Now as soon as Kalila can complete her business with your fellow spawn and then we can be on our way and off this vile rock."
It seemed like an eternity till Kalila appeared with the other twin, and Jarrak was glad for it, glad to see her well, but wasn't half annoyed at her for landing them here in the first place. She sat at his feet and proceeded to lay down, he sighed and wondered what he should do. Finding an inn or something was the most sensible course of action, but Kalila wouldn't be able to walk and Jarrak wasn't really keen to carry an unconscious girl through a city of thieves. He was loath to ask the twin for anything, he didn't want to give them the satisfaction, He had no idea how he could get Kalila to Lady Harlingtons estate on foot, and was unsure the twins would guide them.
"Hey, go get some rest. Take our cabin," Damien offered suddenly, pulling Jarrak from his thoughts.
"Wait, I want my bed," Sebastian interjected, before actually looking at how dark his brothers expression was, "What happened?"
"Later," Damien whispered shaking his head, before grabbing a coat and walking for the gangplank, "Take our cabin. I'm heading into town to look for something to polish my knives."
Sebastian shook his head after his brother, "Really, you need the cabin after encountering Harlington. A word of advice, a lot of people who cross her die, so avoid her if you can. It'll keep your neck from being slit," Sebastian said and offered a hand to Kalila, "And thanks for helping my brother."
Jarrek moved into Sebastian way, "Dont touch her. Don't ever touch her, unless she says you can." He he growled before he turned and picked up the now prone and unresponsive Kalila, "I will carry her, and I appreciate your brothers hospitality." He turned and glared at Sebastian, "And so far I have found nothing to make me doubt Lady Harlington and much to make me doubt you, so do not presume to tell me who to trust. Pirate." He finished emphasising the finishing title. He wasn't scared of Sebastian, or his brother or their crew. He held a Goddess in his arms, he worried not for their safety.

Sebastian

"The feeling is mutual. And I trust you two about as much as wolf trusts a trap," Jarrak said walking away and towards the stairs that lead to the upper deck, "Now as soon as Kalila can complete her business with your fellow spawn and then we can be on our way and off this vile rock." Sebastian stared after Jarrak, he just realized how much one could hate another person that they couldn't fight with. It made him sad he couldn't fight him. That'd take care of a problem.

The girl sat at Jarrak's feet and proceeded to lay down, he sighed. Sebastian smiled down at the girl, waiting to be asked for something by Jarrak though he was spared from this by Damien.

"Hey, go get some rest. Take our cabin," Damien offered suddenly.

Don't ever touch her, unless she says you can." He growled before he turned and picked up the now prone and unresponsive Kalila, "I will carry her, and I appreciate your brothers hospitality." Sebastian looked at Jarrak, really mad now. "I wasn't going to hurt her or do anything to her you idiot. You're more likely to hurt her than I am," Sebastian says as he goes to the rope ladder leading to the crows nest and begins to climb, not wanting to be near him. Jarrak turned and glared at Sebastian, "And so far I have found nothing to make me doubt Lady Harlington and much to make me doubt you, so do not presume to tell me who to trust. Pirate." He finished emphasising the finishing title.

Sebastian looked down at the man now, higher than he was. "Fine to see her, don't take our cabin. If you are so much more trusting of a female pirate than two boys, go ahead. I'm not making you stay here. Besides, I'll help the girl anytime she needs it but you can trust me when I tell you I'd rather dumb you overboard," Sebastian says without much sympathy, "And remember, you're surrounded by us, and they all listen to me. You better be more hospitable than you've been."

Sebastian, furious, climbs the rest of the way and sits back. Sebastian wouldn't be back for a few hours and even then, probably wouldn't be approachable for a few hours after that. Sebastian was hating this guy and was going to do something about it unless he changed his attitude some time soon.

Sebastian took a seat, watching as his men began to make dinner and clean the ship. He was going to have to go down to eat eventually, but he knew they didn't have enough down there for everyone plus their guests. When Kato held up a bowl, Sebastian shook his head and pointed to the cabin as he lounged back.

Kato, surprised, nodded and took it to the boys' cabin, passing it to Jarrak. "All we got unless you're going to go to town for something," Kato says before leaving. Kato gave Sebastian a thumbs up to indicate he had delivered the twins' meals for the two guests. Damien probably wouldn't eat and Sebastian didn't want to starve them. They were probably tired and deserved something to eat, the girl did at least, he wasn't so certain of Jarrak.

Sebastian watched the sun as it sank in the sky, keeping an eye out for Damien while watching Lady Harlington's house in the distance. He needed to go see her, needed to make sure that she didn't hate him entirely. She was a good source to sell precious metals, and few people payed as much as she did.

Within the boys' room, there was a bucket with a couple of scrolls rolled up in there. Within the scrolls were maps, trade routes, and a few letters. There was a box of me defines by Sebastian's bed as well as some educational books while by Damien's bed there was a book filled with drawings of the boys' childhood on the streets and the other children as well as random pictures Damien had liked. Should the book be opened, a list of the boys' inventory was hidden, enough to make any pirate jealous. The hiding places were listed as well and who it as taken from. A couple of the items belonged to lady Harlington's but had been stolen when they were at sea, coasting the woman money.

Before Elizabeth had a chance to reply to Maras inquiry, they were interrupted by a soft effeminate voice, something Elizabeth would have found lovely had it not interrupted her business. "Yeah I can see something. Where did you get the dragon produce?"
Mara replied before Elizabeth, giving her a chance to study the strange woman who dared interrupt her business deal, "I do not believe my question was addressed to you, miss. If you must know, an island, unmarked, uncharted. You have to be fairly lucky to find it." Mara said without turning, "Hopefully we can negotiate without interruption?"
Mara turned back to Elizabeth and smiled, that beautiful dangerous smile that made Mara just so interesting to Elizabeth, "I apologize. Where were we?"
The woman with the red hair sat down at their table unceremoniously, her locks cascading down over her shoulders like a waterfall of blood, "Forgive my intrusion but i've sat in this bar nearly every day since I was a child, and no one has entered that has captured my attention as much as you bunch. So intriguing..."
Elizabeth ignored her completely, "Discussing your marvelous find my dear." She said dancing her hands over Maras sketches and examining them closely. "Truly you bring me such wondrous treasures. Keep the gems and the chalices, the gems are not interesting enough to me and the chalice set is incomplete. I would like to have a closer look at the these two items, the skull and the larger crystal, and of course," She looked back up at Mara with gleeful eyes, "I simply must have those exotic eggs and hides. Perhaps I'll have them made into a dress for me."
"And I have buyers that would be very interested in dragons eggs." She thought to herself, handing back the sketches.
"Please bring the items around to my estate tomorrow, I assure you I am very interested. Your treasures are just as unique as always my dear." She produced the binder of papers and removed several, "Have the items catalogued in these as per usual, and do not miss a detail. I will know if you do, and I hate imperfections." She stood and nodded to Mara, "A pleasure as always dear, I look forward to your visit tomorrow." She turned and looked at the strange red headed woman who had interrupted their dealing, "Forgive me, but I do not know you, however, only the brave and the foolish interrupt my business." She paused as the tension in the room rose, Nassara motionless like a black shadow behind Lady Harlington, "I would be intrigued to find out which. My estate, three o'clock, don't be late." and with that she promptly turned and swept out of the bar, leaving a gaping hole where her presence used to be.

Sebastian exploded at Jarraks remarks, "Fine to see her, don't take our cabin. If you are so much more trusting of a female pirate than two boys, go ahead. I'm not making you stay here. Besides, I'll help the girl anytime she needs it but you can trust me when I tell you I'd rather dumb you overboard," Sebastian said vehemently "And remember, you're surrounded by us, and they all listen to me. You better be more hospitable than you've been."
Jarrak barked a laugh, "You know nothing boy. I serve a man a hundred times more terrifying than the whole of Nassau combined. I dont fear you, your brother, your crew or any other person on Nassau." He turned and walked away towards the twins cabin, "Except maybe Kalila." he said under his breath, before disappearing into the cabin, and laying her to sleep.

Jarrak sat by the window in the twins cabin looking out over the harbor and see, wishing he would see his homeland across the horizon. But they were far from home, half a world away, and he knew he would not touch its sands for some time yet.
"You're afraid of me..." came a small voice from the bed, Jarrak didn't turn to respond. He wasn't at all surprised that She had picked up something while she was asleep, Kalila was odd that way, knowing things she couldn't possibly have heard or known.
"Of course I am Kalila, you're a young girl with the power of a goddess you cant properly control." Jarrak said turning to her, "I fear that one day you won't be able to control it. I fear one day you won't be you anymore Kalila, the girl I watched grow up, the girl who was my friend."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Elizabeth was positively buzzing with excitement, "Dragon eggs, real dragon eggs!" She thought as she watched the city go by the window of her carriage.
"I think I'll have a travelling dress made from the skins, Nassara," she said, gazing off into the horizon just thinking about it, "I wonder what colour the hides are? If I didn't have to check their authenticity, I think i would like to just send them off to my dressmaker and be surprised."
Nassara, as usual, did not respond, but nodded in acknowledgement. Her dazzling eyes, sparkling above her veil.
"Marcus!" she called out, "When we get home, have some tea put on, I would very much like to-" She said before cutting short as she saw something down an alleyway that caught her eye. "Marcus stop the carriage!" she said urgently and the Carriage came to an abrupt and sudden stop.
"Is everything alright Lady-" He began before she cut him off.
"Hush hush now! Stay with the Carriage, Nassara come with me." She said curtly opening the door herself and climbing down onto the street. She began walking back down the road at a steady pace, Nassara frantically trying to catch up with her Mistress.
"Nassara darling, ready your blades." She said as she walked.
They turned down an alley and ran head on into a young girl who had been running the other way, the girl Elizabeth had stopped for. The girl stammered out an apology but seemed far too preoccupied with looking behind her for what appeared to be a pursuer. Nassara's blades were at her throat in an instant as Elizabeth, with as much dignity as possible, picked herself off the muddy street and inspected herself.
"My, my, you have quite thoroughly ruined my dress," she said dusting herself off, "I have killed people for much less." She looked back up at the girl, her head cocking to one side in amusement, "But you are such an odd little thing." Elizabeth peered down the allyway past where Nassara held the girl at bladepoint, "Where did the men chasing you go I wonder? Oh well no matter. Nassara, bring her to the carriage."

Sebastian

Sebastian looked down to see that the girl, Kalila had come back above deck. She didn't look too happy and seemed...distracted.

Frowning, Sebastian stood in his crows nest. His men wouldn't hurt her though the youngest was eyeing her. He wouldn't do anything and Kato would make sure of that. Sebastian wasn't the oldest on the ship by a long shot. He didn't really care, he wasn't really one to care about being so young, though he did dislike that older pirates didn't think he was serious just because Sebastian didn't announce every kill.

He climbed out of the crows nest and climbed down the rope ladder. He was curious about this girl, about as much so as his brother, though not quite in the same way.

Sebastian landed on his deck softly, walking over to Kalila. "Kalila... Are you okay?" Sebastian asks as he leans his back against the railing next to her. He watched his crew, sitting with each other and talking happily, telling stories as they relax and have their ale.

The group was thoroughly enjoying themselves as they talked and ate. Sebastian felt his stomach rumble slightly though he didn't care. He wasn't that hungry and could probably go to the tavern across the street and grab something off of someone's plate without too much difficulty.

"You know Damien and I are here for you. We aren't like the pirates Jarrak thinks we are. We didn't want to be bad people, so we didn't let those pressurizing us take us over...You seem to be in a situation like that," Sebastian says, referring to the way Jarrak seemed to be controlling Kalila. He didn't realize that Kalila was also being controlled by a goddess and would probably take it that way.

Sebastian watched her, then joined her as she watched the water. He looked over at her once, then back out at sea, sighing softly. He didn't know what to say around her. He could easily be witty around Lady Harlington, even with a gun at his head, but he didn't know what to say to this girl who he just met and didn't like that way.

Sebastian

Sebastian watched, her surprised and hopeful when she began to speak, then felt his heart break for his brother and for her as he stopped. It probably showed on his face though it was too dark for it to be visible.

"I--I..." She began though stopped, as if unable to find words or just get them out. When she frowned and shook her head, Sebastian smiled faintly.

"Can you write? I can read though I'm not very good at it," Sebastian offers as he looks at her. He wanted to communicate with her in a way that wasn't one sided. She seemed able to talk to Damien though he didn't want to be around her for some reason, as if he thought it was no use.

He watched her, going to Kato for a moment before walking back, offering her the back of an old, unusable map and a piece of charcoal from the fire that Kato had used to create dinner. The fire was suspended on the dock so as not to burn the ship of course, and was completely safe near ships.

She had her chin on the ships side. Who was this girl? Why did Jarrak seem to control her, or follow her? And who was it that he obeyed that he feared?

"I'm sure Damien would be here to talk to you if he wasn't so... so confused right now. He's just, he's not used to people like you, people that made him think or feel differently. You probably don't see him that way, just because he is a "crazy" pirate, but, then again, you were just as crazy as we were to come here with nobody but Jarrak who seems bound to have himself killed before the day's over with his obvious disgust and... and I'm ranting to you like I rant to Damien... Sorry," Sebastian says with a little laugh.

He looks out at the sea a he waits, waits to see if she'd use the charcoal and the paper or if she would remain as mute as she had been so far. Maybe she would show some emotion on her face that would give Sebastian an idea of what she thought about him, his brother, or even his own words.

Sebastian

I'm not crazy, She wrote and showed it to him. She placed the paper down again and wrote some more. Sebastian sat next to her, his back on the ships railing, not scared to fall at all.

Sebastian red her words, having difficulty at first before he managed to comprehend what she had written. He only knew how to read because of his crewmates growing up.

I don't see your brother as just a pirate, I like him, he is nice. She wrote in Jeddian characters. Sebastian smiled at this. Damien, when, no, if he heard about this, would love it. Sebastian smiled however. Not many people saw the two as anything but pirates, or killers.

Jarrak is my guardian, he protects me...from myself...I am a Godling. She said and held up the paper to him. Her fingers covered in coal dust now. Sebastian froze as he read this, reading it again as he tried to process it.

He looked up at her, then back at the paper. "That's why Jarrak thinks he's untouchable... That' why he's so protective of you... That must suck being controlled by someone that you can't escape from by yourself," Sebatian whispers, watching her, unsure what to do.

"Kalila, do you like it? I mean, is the god the reason you can't speak, or show much emotion, or..." Sebastian pauses, thinking, "Or fight for yourself against anyone?" He thought back to Lady Harlington's carriage. She had been rocking in there, terrified. She seemed fragile, though he knew it must be because of this.

"Kalila, do you want this?" Sebastian asks softly, thinking there had to be a way to help her. Then again, she could like it and he just couldn't understand it... Or maybe he was right...
