"I wanna know whot ye are. Yer not 'uman. I know 'cuz 'umans don't accept whot scares 'em. If I be wrong, then ye've might 'ave gone and changed me opinion ov'em." He said and made his way over to the small table and lit a candle. Aja smiled as he came closer to her, his hand rough yet his touch soft as it trailed across her chin.

"I be Mako, Madame," He said and Aja grinned. "I be from a city in the sea in the tropics; I be a pirate and a slayer of sea monsters; an' I 'ad once been a prisoner an' a game to the 'umans 'ere..." He said and his eyes wandered and his hand dropped from her chin, and snuck beneath her robes and slipped behind her back.

"I am a solitary Fae, Messiur, formerly of Anansai...'ere you can be whatever you like." She said and moved forward her lips mere inches towards his.

Afterward, Aja lay beside him, her finger circling his chest, smiling. "Enjoy yourself...Meissuer Mako?" She asked him with softly, her hair falling over her shoulder and brushing against his skin.

They had eventually went to a private chamber, and the thank you had been paid in full. The shark laid on his side beneath the sheets, her finger tracing circles against his pecs. His lips parted about a large grin as light laughter leaked between his teeth. Wasn’t she funny? He was mostly curious if she had enjoyed herself. He was far different from her usual clients. The Mercurian anatomy and reproductive system, he was certain, had to have been quite the new experience for her. But he wouldn’t lie.

“This whole time an’ ye only be speakin’ in riddles. I ‘aven’t gotten anywhere wit’ you, have I?” he questioned teasingly. Oh well.

Cupping her cheek, his thumb brushed some dark strands from her face before he leaned closer and left a soft, lingering kiss against her lips. The shark tossed back the sheet and slid his legs over the side of the bed. Before he adorned his clothes, she could see the dry patch of skin that had flaked down his back. He was drying up, and it was time he returned to the sea to rehydrate. Mako reached down to pick up his clothes and adorn his jacket.

“I must go,” Mako told her. “I ‘ave tasted yer blood. I know its smell and taste, an’ I know that if it’s ever shed that yer in trouble. I will come for ye.”

Standing, he drew his pants up his hips and fastened them. “Twas’ a pleasure, Madame.”

The Mercos seemed to be in a little bit of a hurry to leave. His limits were close and he had to get to water as soon as he could.

Mako let off a light laugh, and Aja smiled curiously. "This whole time an' ye only be speakin' in riddles.I 'aven't gottem anywhere wit' you, Have I?" He teased and Aja laughed. "You 'ave gotten everywhere wit' me..." She replied with a mischievous giggle. His hand then caressed her cheek and after brushing away a few stray hairs, he leaned up, pressing a gentle kiss to her lips.

She relaxed against his kiss.

She knew better than to get attached to a client, but he was different, clearly not human, but then again neither was she. It had been ages, literally, since she'd lain with someone that wasn't human, and while laying with a Mer wasn't an a new experience, this particular fellow was.

She watched him climb out of the bed, noting his muscular form as stood and dressed. His skin seemed to flake and she understood now his haste. Clearly, he would need to return to the sea, just as she had to return to her own secret. .

"I must go," He spoke and she nodded slowly. "I 'ave tasted yer blood. I know its smell and taste, an' I know that if it's ever shed that yer in trouble, I will come for ye."

Aja's lips parted and her brow raised in surprise.

He would come to her aid, should she need it?

She liked that.

"Twas' a pleasure, Madame." He said and Aja watched him.

"Aja, please, call me Aja," She said and stood, wrapping her robes around her body, and came closer, her hands resting his shoulders as she stood behind him. "Will I see you again?" she asked, pressing her lips against his shoulder. "Perhaps, near d'e water, so you won't 'ave to leave so 'astily?" she said looking up at him with her lip between her teeth.

"Men are going to take me away..." Kalila said softly. "You all have to let them... you'll die if you don't." Jarrak shook his head but Damien beat him to speaking.
"Like hell we'll let them" Damien says, speaking Jarraks mind.
"Idiot, you're going below deck where you can rest," Sebastian said in response, ushering away his brother, before turning back to Kalila and Jarrak, "Kalila, who's coming?"
"I wont let them take you Kalila, I wont." Jarrak said, holding her tight.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Neviah," the girl said looking out the window with a lost expression, "Do you live here in the city?"
"Heavens no my dear," Elizabeth said examining her mask in a pocket mirror, "I live in my estate on the outskirts of the city, its quieter there." She put down the mirror and stared intently at the young girl, "Now, what is a pretty little girl like you, in a lovely dress like that, doing in a gutter in a filthy city looking for a map?" she leaned forward and cocked her head, "I like interesting things, and you are intriguing."

Damien & Sebastian

Damien struggled for a little bit before he realized he had no chance of getting free. He was being held by Kato after all. Both his legs were off the ground too. Blood was pooling at his stomach and he felt dizzy.

"Hey, you don't have to carry me all the way," Damien says, annoyed slightly. He relented, giving up and not really caring anymore. He couldn't walk. He knew that. Kato knew that. Even their youngest knew that. He probably couldn't even stand. They needed to get something to help with the bleeding, and soon if he was going to stay awake in he near future.

Damien watched Jarrak. He had blood all over himself and it felt horrible. "Jarrak, do you think you can carry Kalila? If you can get her to the crows nest they shouldn't be able to find her," Sebastian says as he goes to put out the fire on the docks. He jumped off the ship, tossing a nearby bucket of water onto the flame and putting the three in total darkness except for the stars and moon.
(Now would be a good time to grab Sebastian)

Neviah

Neviah looked back at the lady as she spoke. "Heavens no my dear," The lady said examining her mask in a pocket mirror, "I live in my estate on the outskirts of the city, its quieter there." She put down the mirror and stared intently at the young girl, "Now, what is a pretty little girl like you, in a lovely dress like that, doing in a gutter in a filthy city looking for a map?" she leaned forward and cocked her head, "I like interesting things, and you are intriguing."

Neviah fiddled with her fingers slightly. She looked the lady in the eyes, unsure what to say for a moment before she spoke up. "I'm, you see... I'm lost. I'm trying to get back to my country but I don't know where it is. It's a really long story, but I am really not that interesting," Neviah says shaking her head as she tries to calm her nerves. She as able to sound not scared, but she knew she probably looked anxious, nervous, but it was more because she felt she was loosing time.

If she got touched by any salt water, even a stream, she wouldn't be able to help herself. She would fall, she wouldn't get up by herself until she's was entirely dry. She just hoped this woman's kindness didn't continue when they reached her house, if that's where they were going.

"Who's coming, Kalila,"
"I won't them take you, Kalila." Jarrak and Sebastian said but all Kalila could do was watch Damien. He was bleeding out, she could see that.

"Jarrak, do you think you can carry Kalila? If you can get her to the crows nest, they shouldn't be able to find her," Sebastian said before dossing the fire, they were shrouded in darkness. Kalila however could see as if the sun were high in the sky.

She stood up, moving from Jarrak's arms, she ran to Damien, captured his face in her hands and against her own will, she pressed a deep kiss to his lips.

She hated this, but her consciousness knew how to save him, so her body moved without her knowledge.

Her eyes closed and her energy flow into him, his wound slowly began to close, not seemlessly, it would leave a scar but he would live.

This has only happened once before, Jarrak was young, his arm broke when he tried to catch her when she jumped from the cloved topped of the palace.

She had healed him, but the draw back was she had to break the arm of someone else.

She never told Jarrak that, and she never would. She pulled back and looked at the floor, with a blush on her face.

Damien

Damien wasn't expecting to see Kalila again for a few hours if not a few days. When she appeared at his side as he was going below deck, and touched him like she had earlier that day, he didn't know how to react at first.

Kato, was about to do something before he saw what she was doing and just watched somewhat stupidly. Damien on the other hand, couldn't really do much else besides accept it surprisingly.

When she pulled back, he felt his stomach was different, there was no raging pain and the blood had stopped pooling. He was still weak and tired, but he wasn't going to be a concern of Sebastian's now.

"Hide somewhere safe, don't try to save them. They're a lot stronger than you think, and you... Stay safe," Damien ends somewhat shortly.

What else was he going to say? Stay safe so I don't worry that you're going to die and then I'll suffer from it? You don't say that to someone you just met, especially a princess. She probably didn't even mean anything by it. So why could he still feel her so close to him even as they moved farther and farther apart?

"Hide somewhere safe, don't try to save them. They're a lot strongrr than you think, and you...Stay safe,"

Kalila looked up at him, and shook her head, she touched his face "No one is stronger than I am," She said and let go and ran back up on the top deck. She climbed the bow and looked down. She stood there for a moment before leaping off the bow and into the water. She swam with the grace of a mer and made it to shore and disappeared into the city.

She had to repay the debt before it appeared on her skin.

They wouldn't understand, they couldn't.

The men were coming, she didn't know when, or why, but they'd come and they'd take her away, the only difference she could make was that Jarrak, and Sebastian wouldn't have to die in the process. Jarrak was strong but there be too many, they'd overwhelm him. She watched it happen once, she couldn't see it happen again.

She slipped through the city and ducked into one of the alleys.

"Hey, Little Lady, what are you doing out here, all alone?"

Kalilia said nothing.

"A pretty girl like you shouldn't be out here by herself." Said the man as he approached her.

"Why don't you come with me? I'll make sure you're safe." He said and touched her arm.

Kalila reacted inhumanly fast, she snatched his arm, threw it over her shoulder and snapped it at the elbow and in the same swift move, she reached out, grabbed the dagger at his hip, freed it from the sheath and dragged it across his stomach, twirled it between her fingers and clutched in her palm and sent a straightlegged kick into his chest, knocking him into the wall and crumbling to the floor.

Kalila stood there, the blade dripping in blood, her leg still in the air in perfect stance.

The debt was paid now.

She stood on both feet, dagger still in hand and she walked slowly back to the harbor.

The light was doused and Jarrak cursed, Kalila slipped from his grasp and he was blind.
"You idiot!" he cried at Sebastian, frantically peering around for his lost ward, "She cans see in the dark!"
Damien made a noise then said something quietly and Jarrak lunged towards the twin but must have missed Kalila because all he collided with was Damien.
"Where did she go?!" He said urgently, shaking the twins shoulders, "Where did she go?!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I'm, you see... I'm lost. I'm trying to get back to my country but I don't know where it is. It's a really long story, but I am really not that interesting,"
"Lost and looking a for a country not on regular maps..." Elizabeth said as they made their way out of the clutter of the city and onto the winding jungle pth that led to her estate, "I thought you were interesting, and to not know where it is when you have clearly made your way from it. You my dear are very intriguing..."
They rounded a corner and Elizabeths estate, lit up by lamps and and fiery braziers loomed in the dark like a dark haunted house, "Home sweet home." Elizabeth said sweetly as they approached the gate.
Something caught her eye and a man with a lantern and horse stood outside her Estate, apparently waiting for her arrival.
The carriage stopped beside him and Elizabeth pulled back a blind and leaned out at him, "Who, may I ask, are you who waits outside my gate like the call of death?"

Damien

Damien looked off in the direction he thought she went, seeing her silhouette in the darkness. "No one is stronger than I am," She had said. Sure she was a princess and sure she had a goddess living in her, but even the gods couldn't control fate all the time, and this worried Damien.

As he was about to led into the hold, he was grabbed. Jarrak was frantic as he shook Damien, only helping with his dizziness. "She'll be fine you idiot. Stop worrying about your head and worry about her for once. No man in Nassau can hurt her at this rate, all the really scary people are away at sea or right under your nose," Damien managed, angry at Jarrak.

Kato, who was none too pleased that Jarrak had stolen his own ward, separated the two, lifting Damien entirely by himself as he dragged him down to the hold. "Watch for the moon," Damien whispered as he was carried off. He wondered if Jarrak would listen to him and watch the streets for moonlit shadows, or if he would be too dull to even realize what that meant.

Damien felt his stomach through the rip in his shirt. It as healed, it was wet from all the blood and there was a bump that was certainly a scar, but it was healed. In reality though, that wasn't what he was most aware of. Kalila had been so close, even if she only did it because of her goddess, Damien had been so close. Damien shook his head. She didn't think this way and probably regretted it. Besides... a princess... Even if she did like him in any way, if he was seen with her by her father, he'd be hung the next day.

Neviah

Neviah watched the world around them outside the carriage change from city to jungle in a way. It was amazing to not hear all the rowdy pirates and people of the city anymore and instead the quiet chirping of crickets which she had never heard before so loud.

"I thought you were interesting, and to not know where it is when you have clearly made your way from it. You my dear are very intriguing," The Lady said. Neviah shook her head slightly. She hadn't come from the city. She had been taken and was only here because she had been brought here to be sold though they couldn't get the price they wanted before she escaped.

Before her appeared a magnificent palace like place. It was the nicest she'd seen on Nassau yet. "Home sweet home," She said in a way that made Neviah curious. She had never heard that saying before. Neviah was too preoccupied to notice the man standing at the front of the estate. When they stopped for the lady to speak to him, Neviah just watched from where she was inside, curious but uncertain what to do.

Would the inside of the house be as exquisite as the outside? She hoped so while at the same time hoping not. Maybe this lady just wanted to talk, then send Neviah off to walk back to the city on foot. Or maybe she just wanted to chat and be hospitable. Both ideas sounded nice while sounding bad at the same time.

((Ehe... Adir has no horse, Zeph. He sprinted the whole way to the gate. Just a tiny example of his endurance ^^; ))

Adir finally saw the carriage arrive. It was night time, by then. He waited the whole time. During the wait, he figured out what to say. Unphased by Elizabeth's ominous query, he bowed his head with his fist at his chest, "I am Adir Ancariis, one of two of the rumored Ancariis Brothers. I am not sure if you have heard of my demon-slaying adventures, but there is some truth to what they say. I have come here on a matter of business. You see, my most hated foe, Cassius the Incubus, frequently disappears whenever I have the upper hand, and reading more on him indicates that where he disappears is to a place where tea leaves are currency. As such, I have come to purchase a bag of them to use on my journey. I have the needed coins with me. Should it be necessary, I can do manual labor to pay off whatever is leftover of the price."

Benyamin was back on his ship with his crew, preparing for the journey to Larshrael, where he would retrace the steps now that he knows the true identity of Jeremiaem. The map he drew in detail included the new information he had acquired from his conversation with Aja and his thoughts resulting from it. From Larshrael, there were three possible places where the Shield of Davar could have been hidden. If none of those places had the real shield, Benyamin reasoned, then they may at least hold even more clues as to the shield's whereabouts. I certainly hope Adir is not causing trouble. He has a knack for that, being the hothead he is. Still, he ahs managed to stay alive, so far, and all of the trouble in Nassau he caused has been minor and not worth noting. He needs to keep it that way.

At least the tip was correct. Dorian had spent quite the bit of coin for some information on Hu and luckily it was correct. Although it did not confirm if he was on the island, it did confirm that his men were after a target. Some royal girl of some importance. He knew all too much of royals. They all thought that they were important. After spotting the men he climbed on a roof top and began to jump across the roofs of Nassau in pursuit of the men.

The chase hadn't taken long when they set up their position near an alley. Two around the corners, two hiding up the street, two to the sides, and one to confront the target. What was so damn special about the girl? Dorian took out his weaponry so that they could be accessed easily. He also cast a magical armor for protection. After steadying his Jezail he took aim for the leader, but he would first wait until the girl that Hu wanted would appear. Maybe she knew something.

Aja, please, call me Aja.

The shark had been just about to leave when he felt the fae’s hands upon his shoulders. The heat from her palms were feeling warmer than normal. He wasn’t adapting to their temperature due to the dehydration he was experiencing.

Will I see you again?... He felt her pillowy lips against his shoulder. Perhaps, near d’e water, so you won’t ‘ave to leave so ‘astily?

Resting his fingers over her own, Mako turned to face her, letting her hands slide from his shoulders. The shark’s dark eyes roved over the woman. Had the woman been stricken by him? The situation was odd only because he wasn’t used to this kind of attention. Aja still looked like a human to him, and his mind was registering her as one, but her blood had told him the truth. There were only a few women he had been with and they were mostly one-night stands. They had intended to be pity favors from his old captain. His captain had always called him ugly, and when the ship was merry with the spoils of a successful raid, he had forced the unyielding women to lay with him as punishment. It hadn’t been a very good one.

“I kin return t’ye ‘ere. An’ if ye find ye’self by the water, ye know ‘ow t’get a ‘old ov’ me. The world outside this house is unsafe as I’m sure ye know. If ye’d want t’meet, I’d rather meetcha’ far from here. On a beautiful island, aye? I kin take ye anywhere ye like an’ we don’t need a ship either,” he told her and kissed the pads of her fingers before he stepped back away from her. “I’ll return later for a drink, ‘ows that?”

It had been a question over his shoulder as he left her chamber. He had a feeling that she would have said yes, and hadn’t the time to get caught up in such a conversation. It was dangerous; and he would forget his urgency until the drought would drive him mad.

Kalila stopped in the middle of a four way alley, buildings on all sides of her with an intersecting alley.

She stood in the center.

It was happening.

She knew if she ran from the ship immediately after Sebastian dosed the flames Jarrak and the others wouldn't be able to see and her steps were so light, she would have been damn near impossible to hear moving. She also knew that she could have healed Dorian by just using her hands, but the kiss would prove distraction enough that he wouldn't be able to follow her.

She hated that, she would have preferred a proper kiss...like a normal girl...something she was far from.

She stood there. Her arms at her side, her head down, stringy hair hanging in front of her face.

She was prepared, besides she would have help.

Image

Just then the men from her vision appeared out of the shadows, all at once. She cartwheeled backwards, catching one of the two men behind her off guard, and slamming her booted foot into his head. He crumbled down, as the next man rushed forward. She spun out of his reach and grabbed his arm, and forced a stiff palm up, snapping his arm at the elbow, he groaned in pain and she held him there, as her foot flew up, knocking one of the men at her right in the jaw with the top of her foot, he landed hard on his back, as she jumped and switched legs, kicked the man she held hard in the chest, knocking him against the wall.

Four other men came forward, this time, not being fooled by her innocent appearance, and dodged her unnaturally fast kicks, one of the men caught her foot, so she dropped into a split, the man loosing his grip as her foot fell to the ground. She spun to a hip and kicked his feet out from underneath him. He came down and she climbed atop him and sent a fist into his throat, nearly crushing his windpipe.

Unfortunately, she heard the unmistakable sound of a gun's hammer so she stopped moving, just as the steel touched the back of her head.

"Come out now." She called, and looked up, her eyes rising to the hiding spot of the wrapped man in her vision. She knew he was there and he knew he would help.

Aja smiled as his hand rested atop hers. "I kin return t'ye 'ere. An' if ye find ye'self by the water, ye know 'oe t'get a 'old ov' me. The world outside this house is unsafe as I'm sure ye know. If ye'd want t'meet, I'd rather meetcha' far from here. On a beautiful island, aye? I kin take ye anywhere ye like an' we don't need a ship either," He said and kissed the tips of her fingers before moving away, clearly in a hurry. She smiled. "I will remember d'at " She said, crossing her hands. She would have like to leave Nassau but she couldn't. She'd never make the journey anywhere else.

[b]"I'll return later for a drink,'ow's that?"
He said and she smiled brightly. "I look forward to it. Travel well, Messieur Mako." She said. "D'ank you again for rescuing me, I am in your favor.' She said and turned to adjust the desholved bedding. Human's most of them, couldn't handle a full night with her, however Mako wasn't human, much like herself. She could honestly say she enjoyed herself and was glad he earned free reign, she didn't want to turn him away because money was invovled.

She would have prefered he come to her.

When his flint hit the steel the rifle fired a bullet into a man's skull. Not at all clean, but it did do the job. Dorian jumped below at another man, smashing the butt of his rifle into the man's head. There was a sharp cracking sound just before another sound when the skull hit the cobblestone. Quickly the bandaged man pulled out his pistols and fired two shots. One, which was aimed at one man's head but hit the jugular instead and the second in another's chest. The pistols were holstered so that the kukri could be drawn. There were two on the ground, one unconscious and the other choking to death. Suddenly Dorian felt a sudden blow from behind and an intense pain. Turning around he forcefully threw the kukri and it slammed into the middle of the man's face. With the skirmish finished he retrieved his weapons and began to reload them.

After he reloaded his pistol his torso screamed with discomfort. He had been shot in the liver and while he was a healer, he found it difficult to heal one's self while wounded. It required concentration, something that he lacked right now. Dorian looked over to the girl who seemed relatively fine. "You've a good eye." He told her with heavy breath. "Are you okay?"

Kalila rolled out of the wrapped man's way as he fired on the man with the gun to her head.

She stood idly against the wall, watching her vision come true, sans Jarrak and The twins.

Jarrak would have jumped at the man with the gun, just as the wrapped man fired, taking the bullet to the skull.

The vision made her want to try but she didn't. She knew the future could be changed, there was an infinite amount of possibilites, where everything that could happen, has.

In some possibilities, Jarrak had died as a child.

Once it was over, the wrapped man looked over at her. "You've a good eye." He commented. Kalila pushed off the wall and approached him. "Are you okay?"

Kalila nodded and reached for his wound. She pressed a hand against his stomach and whispered "Shh.."

His wrappings held back his memories, only skin to skin contact did that. she focused her energy and the bullet began to slowly spit out from his liver. She pulled away from him, grabbed the a fallen gun, and aimed it at the unconscious man on the ground. She fired once without blinking, the bullet pass through that man's liver precisely in the same spot as the wrapped man had once been.

She felt dizzy then, she healed twice in one day. It was foolish but she had too. She fell completely limp on the ground, sprawled out in the dirt.

Dorian really didn't expect the girl to be a green magi. He hadn't expected to see any in Nassau or at least while he was there. She collapsed on the ground after healing him, either from stress which was unlikely or that she used up her mana for the day. He knelt down to the girl to check her pulse, glad that she was still alive. However he was faced with what to do about her lying on the ground. He had no idea where she came from and he couldn't heal her right after an ambush because for he knew there might be more. So he picked her up, carrying her to a nearby inn.

"I'll take your best room. Send two meals and a bottle of Galapagan wine to the room." He told the inn keeper as he placed two gold coins and five silvers in front of the owner. The owner saw the girl, smirked as he handed Dorian the key, and told him the room location. Once there Dorian placed the girl on the bed and got to work.

It took a few spells, but he was able to remove the numbing of her limbs and the fatigue. She would probably awaken in a few minutes so Dorian placed her meal with the wine on a bed table near her. He simply sipped at his wine as he waited for her to wake up. He wanted answers and being that all the slavers were dead, she was the only one left who could give them.

The Mercos emerged from the sea for the second time that day, stooping to pick up the clothes that he had left on the beach and rinsing the excess sand from them. When they were mostly clean, he adorned them; and just as he set his hat upon his head, his black tongue became excessively wet with the taste of blood. It hadn’t just been any blood for in Nassau blood wasn’t an uncommon thing to sense; but amongst the scents and flavors that he picked up, this one had been freshly familiar. It had been the blood of his savior.

Lifting his lip in an irritable expression, the shark growled a little. “Really? Already? Ye better not be beggin’ for attention.”

Mako started for the city, keeping his head bowed as he navigated its treacherous streets. If it hadn’t been for the blood trail, he would have not only never found Dorian, but he would have been lost. Being lost in a city of thieves was the best way to find one’s self in great peril. Mako was certain that he would survive regardless for he had survived far more dangerous situations, but it would have given him unwanted attention and that attention was already difficult to shake when you were considered a giant by small humans. Yes, small. He thought that his size was rather normal for a Mercurian male and that the humans were just short. Any who…

The trail had led him to an alley where the bodies of several men lay. Mako inspected each corpse for the bandaged man. That would have been rather unfortunate if the man had been murdered before he had gotten a chance to repay him. Dorian wasn’t there and he should have known for the trail had continued and not stopped there. However, it was much weaker. Could the wound had clotted or been treated so soon? Dorian had been a magician after all.

It wasn’t safe to stick around. Mako followed what little remained of the trail out of the alley and toward an inn. Without hesitation, the shark barged through the door, bowing his head as he stepped through and alarmed the innkeeper.

“By the seven!” the innkeeper exclaimed in startled fright.

He watched the large, ominous man head for the stairs and began to ascend them without requesting a key or even a room!

“HE-ey…” his voice fell quiet as his fingers went to his mouth. Was he really going to try and throw that big guy out? It seemed like he had business, and whoever had attracted the interest of a freak like that he felt sorry for.

Mako noisily made it to the second floor without even trying to mute his thunderous steps. He strode for the room where he suspected the blood had been coming from and swinging his foot up, he slammed it against the face of the door to knock it off its hinges flat upon the floor. From the doorway, Mako first glanced to Dorian before he noticed the young female on the bed. He exchanged a few silent glances between them before his lips drooped in a frown.

“No fire?” he queried facetiously. “Ye spill yer blood, sendin’ me searchin’ the whole city to find ya, and I see you wit’ this girl? No offense mate…”

Mako glanced at the girl again and frowned, “Doncha’ think she’s a little young? She’s but an’ egg.”

Dorian looked up at Mako, too tired to be surprised. He had actually completely forgotten about that blood deal. Perhaps it was the fact that the events just a bit ago were all that more exciting than those of earlier. That or he just didn't care enough to remember.

"She is young. Younger than any of my own children. But she isn't year for pleasure. She has valuable information that I need. Information that I have scoured the globe for. I just killed four men and took a bullet for her so I'm not going to leave this room until I get my dues." He told the mer.

He couldn't pin his finger on it, but she looked awfully familiar. Maybe she was related to a royal that he had done business with in the past and he had done many jobs for royalty. Dorian passed a glass across the table he was sitting at towards Mako. "How about some wine?"

Jarrak glared at the twins, their ignorance, although not their fault, irritating him greatly, "I'm not worried about other people hurting her you ass. I'm not here to protect Kalila from others I'm here to protect her from herself."
He turned and made his way through the starlit night across the deck to the gangplank, and began to descend into the city. He didn't care who was coming for Kalila his place was at her side, and he didn't care what happened to the bastard twins either, "I'm going to look for her. If I never see you twits again it will be too soon."
He ran down the gangplank and off into the winding streets of the city, trying in vain to find one shining holy needle in a pile of rotten filth.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I am Adir Ancariis, one of two of the rumored Ancariis Brothers.
Elizabeth looked with great interest at the strange man, Adir, that stood upon the entrance to her gate, a demon slayer, if you believed in such things. Elizabeth was not a religious woman, though her desires for the strange and wonderful had led her to encounter many strange people, items and creatures. Her mind was more than open to the idea, and the thought she found intriguing.
"Well Mr Ancariis, the night grows late, and I am in no mood for business this day. However..." she looked the man up and down with hungry eyes, "For such a fine specimen as yourself, I would be more than willing to do business in the morning. Please come inside for the night is late and a storm is coming. Stay at my Estate this night and we shall broker a deal in the morning."
"My my," she thought, "I am having so many guests tonight, it must be my lucky day."

Sebastian

Sebastian was on the boardwalk, taking off at a run when he was knocked aside by something. He tumbled over the side, crashing into the black water and sputtering. He swam towards the nearby dock to grab a rope hanging down, pulling himself up. He was having a bad day. He had been threatened, had a gun at his head, nearly lost his brother twice, and was now soaking wet after being told he'd die if he didn't let someone steal away Kalila... It was a weird day too when he thought about it.

Shaking his head, Sebastian climbed out and was nearly pushed back in by Jarrak as the man rushed by. He was going to look for Kalila, in a city of thieves and drunks that he knew nothing about. He was also probably going to die by morning at that rate.

Sebastian followed Jarrak, staying far back enough that the man couldn't see him or detect he was following. He was behind him when he heard a faint distress. He looked down an alley to find men laying, dead and or bleeding. Sebastian shakes his head. Great, the city had another guy who thought he couldn't get beaten and can kill who he wanted to.

Sebastian noticed a line of blood leading away and abandoned following Jarrak to follow the blood trail. As he followed it, he saw it growing thinner and thinner, as if the bleeder was healed quickly, like Kalila had done to Damien. He saw it lead to the general direction of an inn and entered.

"Excuse me, would you by chance have seen a girl about my age?" Sebastian asks as he leans on the counter, not caring about his soaked form.

"Looking for your girlfriend are ya?" He asks with a smirk. Sebastian rolls his eyes and shakes his head. "The day I get a girlfriend will be the day my brother gets manners, never," Sebastian says before looking the man in the eye, "Now, did you or did you not see a girl my age come here?"

The man catches Sebastian's dangerous tone and nods, pointing upstairs. "Up there," He says softly and Sebastian nods, slipping the man a silver coin.

He climbs the stairs only to see light coming from a doorway that appeared to not have it's door closed. Sebastian smiled and walked up next to it, hearing talking, he listened in, wondering if he would hear Kalila. He didn't and is surprised him, but he did hear other voices that interested him and made him listen in.

"She is young. Younger than any of my own children. But she isn't year for pleasure. She has valuable information that I need. Information that I have scoured the globe for. I just killed four men and took a bullet for her so I'm not going to leave this room until I get my dues," One voice said. Sebastian nearly sighed in relief, at least they wouldn't touch her and get him in trouble with Jarrak. He had to not touch her either after everything she said, or wrote.

One voice, the same voice, offered wine to someone. Possibly Kalila? He didn't bother looking or trying, just waiting to see if she would answer.

Neviah

Neviah watched as a man claiming to be a demon hunter asked to do business. He didn't say the lady's name and Neviah still wasn't sure what it was. She looked down at the ground as the lady said a storm was coming. That was bad. If Neviah was outside, she would surely be given away. She didn't have anywhere else to go but inside this lady's house.

When the door was open, Neviah waited patiently for the lady to exit first. She didn't want to seem impolite or rude or make it sound like she didn't like, wanted to hurt, or wanted to be mean to this lady, that might mean knives from her friend again.

She looked up at the estate, then down at her raggedy look. She was dressed nicely and the dress wasn't too dirty, worse than the lady's but not too bad. She could feel grime on her face however and it wasn't something she liked.

As she looked up at the man who wanted to do business, she noticed he was rather nice looking. The lady would probably take an interest in him. He looked a good bit older than Neviah herself so it surprised her that he could be a demon hunter, not because of his age, but because of his experience. He wasn't old, but he wasn't young. Didn't you need to be older.

She hoped that he didn't take her as a demon if he knew she was a mermaid. Some mermaids acted demonic and were treated such though she wasn't in any way. She just changed in her legs. That was all, nothing major. He probably wouldn't think anything of it other than she isn't normal.

Theo watched the people around them for an hour. At last, he turned to Alexandrine and spoke, "There is a pair of captains who are decent as far as pirates go. What do you know of Captain Damien and Captain Sebastian?"

Alexandrine looked over at him. "No, not farmilar, but I rarely run wit' a crew," She said. "Jump from ship to ship, if only to get closer to where I need to be." She said. "Who are dz'ey?"

"They have a reputation for being... odd. From what I heard, they're quite good chaps, unusual for a couple of pirate captains. For one thing, they aren't looking to screw each other over. If there is anyone we can expect a decent deal from, it'd be them," Theo told the girl with a small grin as he took a sip out of his mug.

"Also, I hear they are quite chivalrous without looking to get some booty. Either kind," he added with a laugh at his own joke.

Alexadrine cut her eyes at him for his joke. "Clever." She said and drank the last of her grog.

"You wouldn't happened to know where these two are, would you?" She asked, adjusting her hood. "It's getting late, they're probably down for the night,"

"You haven't been to this port for long, have you?" he asked with a grin as he finished the rest of his drink, "It's easy to find someone here if you know how to look."

Alexandrine merely shrugged. "Well dz'en, we'd better start looking." She said and stood up from her seat, "Where do we start?" She said after placing down payment for her drinks.

"We goto the streets and ask around for a pair of brothers in the company of maidens far above them," he told her with a grin as he motioned her to follow him out onto the streets, "If the rumors are true, one of them is a romantic."

Alexandrine shook her head. "Terrific." She said with a huff and walked along with him. "Just what we need" She said rolled her shoulders. "Let's start at the docks."

"Oh, don't think like that," he teased as he headed for the door. He raised an eyebrow as he practically ran into his quarry. He frowned slightly. This was too easy. Were the gods playing tricks on him. Nonetheless, he smiled at the group before him.

"Captain Damien? Or is it Sebastian?"

Adir heard the answer he needed to. Lady Harlington reasoned it was too late for business for the night, yet if he stayed, they could broker a deal in the morning. "Of, course, Lady Harlington."

Inside the estate, he waited until given permission to take off and polish the armor he had over his attire. He and his equipment went through many battles against demons. Speaking of which, he noticed there was something odd about one of the other women. He first noticed that there was a shift in her legs. Could she have been a mermaid? It did not matter to him. Unless he actually saw a merperson cause harm, he would not strike one. Actual demons, on the other hand, he would.

Of course, he stuck with the group before given their temporary quarters. It has been a busy day, and he had to admit, he could use the rest. That is, of course, if everyone would let him. The thing about demon slayers is, they never knew when a demon could conduct a surprise attack in retaliation.

Damien

ImageDamien walked above deck, grumbling under his breath about being big, but apparently not big enough to not be carried like luggage by his friend. He had blood all over his clothes and deck and it irritated him too. Where had Sebastian gotten off to? There was light now as he moved about on his deck freely, accepting a new white shirt that someone handed him.

He'd have to wash the blood off somewhere, not on his ship. He could go into the water, but it was cold and he didn't feel like swimming. He'd rather just have a bath at an inn, but money was always tight with the brothers stockpiling it all away in various parts of the world. He hadn't even eaten yet but was told Jarrak had gotten his share, and hadn't even eaten that! Doesn't he know that when you aren't royal food isn't served on a silver platter?

Now Jarrak, Kalila, and Sebastian were all running around in town having fun without him probably. He could just go into town and find a girl to kiss a few times before leaving, but what fun would that be at this time of night? Plus they were all in their houses. He's already had his drinks for the night, didn't want to go out to buy food, but didn't want to make any here either where his crew would see that maybe they had more money they could spare when they really didn't, he would just grab a few coins from a man he passed on the street probably.

He changed his shirt quickly, then set off with a few others towards a nearby tavern that wasn't too far away, but was most definitely "inland". They each grabbed whatever amount they needed for either a drink or small meal. Just as he was entering, his hand holding just enough to buy him something to eat, Damien ran into a man and a woman. "Captain Damien? Or is it Sebastian?" the man asked causing Damien to scowl slightly.

He didn't think he looked too much like his brother, perhaps a little, but not enough that they should be confused. Then again, he had grown up with him and had seen the two compared to each other long enough to tell their faint, but subtle differences.

"Does it really matter? I can answer any question you may have and no, I don't wish to fight right now, I'm actually pretty tired. Kato will fight you if you really want a challenge that's larger instead of faster," Damien offers, answering a question most people ask him in the dead of night when he enters a tavern. It wasn't often, but when he did, it was always the same. Can we brawl? Can we see who is truly the better pirate? No you couldn't because it was clear to everyone but the challenger annoyingly enough.

"Damien, you aren't fascinated by the lady?" One of the crew members behind him whispered. Damien shrugged. In fact, he wasn't. She was pretty, sure, and normally, who would have started hitting on her already, but he didn't really want to. His thoughts drifted to Kalila which caused him to scowl again at his impudence.

"Shut up Luke," Damien demanded. "Is there something you want sir? I was hoping to eat at some point today and was planning on doing it in the next couple of minutes," Damien says rubbing the back of his neck as he slips his coins in his pocket.

Kalila's eyes sprang open and she shot to a sitting position in an instant.

Her eyes were focused in front of her. She didn't response to either men, which was odd because the merco man was not in her vision, but then again, he must be connected to her somehow.

She just started blankly, wide awake and fully recovered.

"Help him, help her."

The voices started up again and she looked at the wrapped man, his aura pulsed, indicating he was the one they were talking about.

"They are going to come again."She said and looked at the door. "But the ones at the door aren't the enemy."

Alexandrine watched the boy quitely as Theo went on. Alexandrine didn't like his attitude, the boy but she kept it back.

"Does it really matter? I can answer any question you may have and no, I don't wish to fight right now, I'm actually pretty tired. Kato will fight you if you really want a challenge that's larger instead of faster." He said and Alexandrine frowned. "We aren't here for a fight." She said and it was then another man whispered something after looking her up and down. Alexandrine rolled her eyes.

"This is the crew you want to join?" She hissed at Theo followed her arms.
"Is there something you want, sir? I was hoping to eat at some point today and was planning on doing it in the next couple of minutes," He said and Alexandrine huffed under her hood.

"We were thinking of joining a crew. You are just the one he thought would be good for a couple of misfits like ourselves." She said plainly. "If you aren't looking, we'll move on." She said with a shrug.
