The shark wouldn’t have made the man leave. His business was none of his, although he wished that he had arrived sooner to have spared him his conflict. He glanced to the wine glass that Dorian had pushed in his direction and had every desire to take it until he remembered his little promise to the mysterious Aja at the brothel. Frowning a little in disappointment since he wasn’t one to refuse a good drink, Mako answered, “I’ll pass.”

The teenage girl then awoke in a start and the Mercos stared at her as though she had a tentacle growing from her face. She was a weird one.

They are going to come again…

Mako followed Kalila’s eyes to the door, and it was then that he noticed the electrical signature on the other side of the wall. Someone was spying on them, and he didn’t like it.

But the ones at the door aren’t the enemy.

They were about to find out at least. The shark quietly turned to the door, studying the young man’s electrical pulse to see if he’d notice movement. He then swiftly stepped forward, swinging his shoulder toward the door and snapped out his arm as he reached around the doorframe to have his fingers snag the spy by his shirt. If Mako had managed to grab him, he’d drag the pirate captain into the room and hold him high before the eyes of Dorian and Kalila.

Damien

Damien watched the girl, his eyes hardening as she mentioned joining the crew. He stopped smiling and moved past the two, motioning for them to follow as he took a seat, waving at Kato to order for him. Kato knew what to get so he'd be fine.

"I don't really care if you join my crew or not, but there are some rules and you have to be willing to listen to two seventeen year olds. One thing you need to realize in Nassau... Everyone, is looking for new crew members. The only thing is, some have bad reasons for wanting crew members. Now I don't care if you and your friend hate me, because it looks like you do, but so long as you respect my brother and my words and decisions, we'd be glad to have you both," Damien says, being serious. His crew had each seen him serious, all when they joined, but every other time, he was probably the most lenient out of the brothers.

"Tell me, I'm curious, what do you want in a crew and what can you do?" Damien asks, sitting back to lean against the wall behind him. His crew sat at a separate table to allow the three some privacy in business.

Sebastian

Sebastian was surprised to hear Kalila talk of the guys before again were coming. He was just mulling over her comment about those by the door, how she knew he was there, when he was grabbed.

How had he been grabbed? He was off his game and was pretty tired, and he was really freaked out by Kalila knowing he was there. When he was held off the ground by what appeared to be a freaky man. He struggled as he held the guys hand. He wasn't going to draw any of his guns or weapons when he was definitely not in a good place what with Kalila also there, possibly hurt, or unable to do anything.

"Kalila, you okay?" Sebastian asks as he looked over at her. He was having such a weird day. "And put me down you big idiot," Sebastian says, about to say something much worse when he though it might be a bad idea since this guy was taller, stronger, and possibly faster than him. Sure he was a pirate captain as a teenager and could beat most men, but when they were ridiculous and not necessarily human, he was in a rough spot.

"I'm going to rephrase that. Please put me down now. You heard Kalila, I'm not the freaking enemy. I just came to get her before her guardian kills me in my sleep in his anger," Sebastian says as he kicks his feet, unaccustomed to being off the ground because of someone else.

Kalila, you okay?

So the boy knew who the girl was. It seemed that everyone knew that girl but him.

And put me down you big idiot…

Mako’s lips rolled back over triangular teeth and his left arm flexed, swelling as his lengthy fin flipped out like a blade.

I’m going to rephrase that. Please put me down now. You heard Kalila, I’m not the freaking enemy. I just came to get her before her guardian kills me in my sleep in his anger.

Mako frowned deeply before he released the kid. He hadn’t neatly put him down as he might have liked, but humans always fell on their feet, right? Wait, was that cats? Eh. The shark hissed irritably and grumbled to Dorian, “I’m outta ‘ere befo’ me fin slips.”

He definitely needed a drink after that. Annoying kids, Dorian getting into trouble and making him almost get lost in the city. The Mercos turned to the door as his fin snapped back into his forearm and walked out. He had a promise to keep. He owed a fine lady a drink.

Kalila watched as the shark man yanked poor Sebastian in ans hung him up like a strange peice of art. Kalila just watched as they worked it all out.

She climbed off of the bed, as Sebastian was dropped. She leaned forward over him, bending at the hip, before coming down to a crouch.

She nodded at him, answering his question. She was fine. She was mildly disappointed, she'd hoped it was Damien who'd arrive for her. Oh well...

The shark man began to leave and Kalila looked up, she stepped over Sebastian and ran after him. She grabbed his arm, to get his attention and reached up, on her toes, to whisper in his ear, which was a struggle, the shark man dwarfed her in size.

"Tell her...I am here." She whispered before turning and disappearing into the room and sitting back on the bed in front of the wrapped man.

Aja sat in her vanity as one of her girls brushed her raven locks. The brothel was closed for the evening, though some of the johns were still busy with the girls they purchased for the evening.

"Madame, If you don't mind...We all wanted to know...Um." The girl paused. Her name was Cheyenne. A pretty little olive skinned girl with light brown hair. "What is it?" she asked though she already knew.

"The um, Man...you were with...What was he like?" She asked and the girls around her all murmered in agreement.

"Do I ask you about your men?" Aja asked with a smile. "No ma'am, it was just...he...he was large and...."

"I believe you are looking for the words. Not Human." Aja chuckled. Cheyenne looked away sheepishly.

"'e was entertaining." She said, dailing down how she really felt. She was never to get close to a client, the outcome was never good, but this man...or Mer. Was entirely different.

The girls all murmered amongst themselves.

"He was scary." She said.

"Of course 'e was to you, you are not familiar wit' him kind. He can not hid who he is."

"How come you can?" Asked another girl, Emily.

"Because I am Fae." Aja said simply and stood up. "Off you all go, We 'ave work to do in
d'e morning."

The girls all groaned and filed out of her room. She wrapped herself in a red shaw and hoped he'd return for that drink he promised.

Dorian just sipped his wine as he watched the comedy unfold. It was as if he was in the North Atlantic seeing a poorly performed play in a poorly maintained stage. He did not grin, however, because he did not find the circumstance entirely laughable. She said that more would come. From what he knew about Hu that would mean that she was either a high price item or she had an importance about her.

"So you need to tell me who you are. I already know about your status and judging by your speak you must be from the...southeast? I'd guess Jedah. Amundsen is a choice as well, but I don't hear any Drake mix in there. Also your not dressed like anything from the north." He told her. His mind wondered a bit to where she was from.

"Anyway, Hu wants you and there's only a select few places on this world that could harbor you safely. I know of three. So if you know of a better place to talk then this inn then go ahead and lead the way." He told the girl since she seemed so eager to move.

Kalila opened her mouth to speak but all that came was a stuttered. "Nnnnn..."

She huffed inwardly. She couldn't speak, she wanted to, she always wanted to but the voices chose when it was time and when it wasn't.

Apparently her name wasn't important enough to speak.
"Anyway, Hu wants you a d there's only a select few places on this world that could harbor you safely. I know of three. So if you know of a better place to talk then this inn the go ahead, and lead the way."

Kalila shook her head and pointed to the floor.

Here was fine, the men wouldn't show up yet, soon though.

She wanted to answer his question but she couldn't and there wasn't a charcoal piece laying around.

Then it struck her.

Sebastian.

He could answer some of those questions. She pointed a sniff arm at Sebastian while looking ahead. She bend her arm and forced it out again, indicatiom that he was to talk to him.

Sebastian

Sebastian landed on his feet, but only barely. Grumbling something about him being too small. He went to take a seat by the fireplace, just sitting next to it on the floor by Kalila's bed. When the fish guy disappeared, Kalila went after him much to Sebastian's dismay. This girl would turn him grey within a matter of hours.

He watched, about to get up when she came back in. The guy with the bandages, another odd scene, spoke to Kalila. Sebastian wasn't at all surprised to find her not speaking. "So you need to tell me who you are. I already know about your status and judging by your speak you must be from the....southeast? I'd guess Jeddah. Amundsen is a choice as well, but I don't hear any Drake mix in there. Also your not dressed like anything from the north." The guy spoke. Sebastian rolled his eyes. It was as if he was now her guardian.

"Anyway, Hu wants you a d there's only a select few places on this world that could harbor you safely. I know of three. So if you know of a better place to talk then this inn the go ahead, and lead the way." The guy spoke. Sebastian scowled at this. There were a few places safe that he knew of. Why were these people after Kalila anyway? Sure she harbored a goddess and... oh wait, there's that cursed reason.

When Kalila pointed at Sebastian, Sebastian shook his head. He didn't want to be involved in this. When she pointed again, he groaned. "Fine. Hey so, she is from Jeddah, and her name is Kalila si Ishka Misantri and she is kind of high up in Jeddah culture and stuff. And if we did go to a safe place, the safest place right now for her, would probably be my ship where my brother would probably take care of her excessively so..." Sebastian says with a smile. Damien wouldn't be bad to her or rude or anything, but probably shy and sweet since he isn't used to actually liking a girl.

Sebastian stood. "Captain Sebastian of Lucifer's Angel. You are?" Sebastian asked as he looked at the guy with the bandages. Sure he had had a weird life, but today was too weird. A goddess, a sharkman thing, a guy wrapped in bandages, and Lady Harlington not wanting, or trying, to kill him on sight. Such a weird day indeed for the seventeen year old pirate. "And do you know why these guys are after Kalila specifically other than maybe her status?" Sebastian asks, checking to see if there could potentially be anther reason.

"A Misantri?" Dorian said quizzically to the boy. "Being a princess of Jedah, away from her father is more then enough of a reason to try and capture her. Anything besides that is debatable." He knew she looked familiar and she was from Jeddah. Perhaps she was in the making of becoming a high priestess. Maybe it was a religious reason for Hu. "The names Dorian and I would suggest that we go to your ship first. If Hu's men have here on their priority then this inn is vulnerable." He told the boy.

His eyes flicked to the girl. Maybe she was a near mute, not like Willow where she couldn't speak at all, but near to it. Her mind seemed to be working fine as she knew the boy was outside the door. If she was deaf and dumb then she wouldn't be able to pick that up. He could link with her telepathically since he didn't care about privacy at that point.

"I knew your mother, Kalila. That was before she was Misantri and still a lady of the North. You look a lot like her. Dorian told her telepathically. He gave her a faint smile. "Don't be afraid. I used a telepathic link to connect out minds magically."

Kalila was watching her feet when she heard a new voice in her head.

"I knew your mother, Kalila. That was before she was Misantri and still a lady of the North. You look a lot like her." He said and Kalila looked up with a start, her eyes wide. "Don't be afraid. I used a telepathic link to connect out minds magically."
She watched him for a moment, unsure what to do beyond stare.

You can hear me?" She asked. She knew Sebastian couldn't hear a thing, and this probably looked strange. "You can talk to me...?" She thought back. " How do you know my mother....?" She said, a half a hundred thoughts and questions buzzing through her mind, all seeming to flood out at the prospect of normal speech. "Can you hear the voices...The other ones? Can you stop them? Can you help me?".

Theo shrugged at Alexandrine's words, "I heard they were a lot more cheerful."

He turned to Damien, an equally serious expression on his face, "We are both well-aware of the type of crews we don't want to join. I suggested we join you two to my comrade because you both have a reputation for honorable conduct and true skills. Either trait is in short supply around these parts and both together is well worth an interrogation such as this.

"As for what we can do... Well, I will only speak for myself. I am skilled with the sword, but you probably have that in good supply. I am a former Priest and Magi of Drake. I know lore where most pirates know only superstition and I can command the elements. I hope that is satisfactory."

Telepathy was always one of Dorian's favorite ways to communicate with someone, especially if it was with an important person on the matter of an important subject. It was easier than verbal speech and one could always decipher what another was saying. In the mind the girl was equal in tongue to anybody.

"Yes, but I cannot stop them, that's more of your department. I can, however, help you control them. It's not too hard actually. You could learn the school of Divination to hold control over those voices of yours. Of course I can teach you all of this if you can help me, but first you would need to learn about the school." He told her...or thought to her. It was much harder to pinpoint someones location by using the spell on someone other than oneself. Since Hu was after her, she would have to be the one using the spells to find him, not Dorian.

Damien

Damien shrugs at the comment of them being more cheerful. "Usually, we are. Today has been really weird, stressful, and rather hurtful though. And perhaps the weirdest day of my life all together," Damien says as he accepts a plate of food.

"Honorable, eh. We only kill if we have to and we don't touch a lady if they don't want to be touched. We won't kill a lady either, unless she is a pirate and is trying to kill us. Skills, now, I am better with knives and quick hands, my brother is a strategist and a near perfect shot. I can brag about him because he is off chasing down someone I believe right now. Most pirates here, they'll kill you and take your money, but I, you see, will just take your money. Money is always in short supply too, so we ration often so if we have to go to sea at the spur of the moment, we don't die," Damien says as he takes a sip of water before a bite of food.

The guy spoke again and his words made Damien groan inwardly, "As for what we can do... Well, I will only speak for myself. I am skilled with the sword, but you probably have that in good supply. I am a former Priest and Magi of Drake. I know lore where most pirates know only superstition and I can command the elements. I hope that is satisfactory."

Great, more magical people. Why was today full of weird magical people? "Elements, commanding of them, that's insane. If you were a priest, that means you know how to read, that in itself is a good thing that would get you on my crew. As long as you know that there's always the risk of death, and I won't be responsible for your death, though of course any of the crew would avenge it, then you can come back to our ship with us tonight," Damien says with an appreciative nod.

Though Sebastian knew how to read well enough, he couldn't teach it. Maybe this guy could teach Damien. He looked to the girl now. "We actually don't have any ladies on our ship, so, you wouldn't have much, if any privacy though you could have it should they guys give it to you," Damien says as he sits up.

"Money wise, you get to keep half of what you get on the street, then we pay a sum once a month, unless you're here for the sake of adventure, then you get meals and when you want something we get it for you, or you just borrow it forever," Damien says. He hated explaining this stuff and usually left it to Sebastian, but Sebastian wasn't here unfortunately.

Damien looked the two in the eyes. "We don't steal from older people or people who don't deserve it, and we only steal because otherwise, we would all die as would the families of the crew members. I know it isn't something some people like, and you don't have to, but you would have to work in each port if you didn't, that or guard the ship. Now again I ask you, what would you like in a crew? Would it be a captain who respects you? A first mate who'll listen to problems? What?"

Damien was honestly curious and let it show. He didn't know why people came to him and his brother when he saw some of their actions as unjust even if they were necessary. He had even killed that evening and though he didn't like killing, he knew it was necessary.

Sebastian

Sebastian nodded though he didn't do anything but stand and walk to the window, looking out and wondering if he would see any of his crew members off to have a drink or find a girlfriend they hadn't seen in a while. Instead, he saw something worse. "We need to leave now, Kalila, put this on and keep your head down," Sebastian said as he slipped his jacket off and tossed it to her. He also passed her is hat as he went to close the shutters.

"They're in the street. We can't leave the front way," Sebastian says as he looks out once more before closing the shutters. He felt slightly cold in just his white shirt that wasn't entirely white anymore, it had just faded and though it was mostly clean except for Damien's blood, it wasn't white.

"Hey, let's hope my brother didn't listen to me and disobeyed. He'll be in the tavern a few doors down. If he's there, the crews there and we have a better chance for her to survive," Sebastian mutters under his breath as he reaches in his pocket to pull out bandages, wrapping them around his hands and wrists. Then he realized, Kalila would probably be a lot safer touching this guy in the bandages since he was covered in them.

"Hey, guy, think you could carry her and run at the same time? We'll need to leave out the back door and they may try to fire at her or hurt her and I know she can take care of herself, but Jarrak already hates me and if I let her get hurt anymore, he will just turn me in to her parents and then I'd be hanging in a few hours," Sebastian says, saying the part about Jarrak under his breath, as he checks his loaded guns before looking at Kalila.

"Kalila, we gotta get you to the ship, find Damien if we get split up though I doubt we will," Sebastian says as he looks at the bandaged guy. "Think you can handle this?" Sebastian asked with a smile, doubting the man wouldn't be.

Kalila looked at him, and nodded feverishly. " I want to learn, Please, teach me, I want to learn to talk, like a normal girl!" She said having stood up sharply, it was the she was struck by a jacket and a hat was atop her head. She paused in confusion.
"We need to leave now, Kalila, put this on and keep your head down," He told her and Kalila frowned some. "They're in the street. We can't leave the front way," Kalila was greatly confused.

"Dorian? I don't understand?" She said and then smiled. " Should I call you Master, like we do for all the teachers in Jeddah?"

"Hey, let's hope my brother didn't listen to me and disobeyed. He'll be in the tavern a few doors down. If he's there, the crews there and we have a better chance for her to survive,"

Kalila looked from Sebastian to Dorian.

Hey, guy, think you could carry her and run at the same time? Kalila sighed. "Master, Can you tell him they aren't coming now, for now we are safe." she thought. "and I can walk on my own." She added pointedly.

"Kalila, we gotta get you to the ship, find Damien if we get split up though I doubt we will," Sebastian says as he looks at the bandaged guy. "Think you can handle this?"

Kalila just pulled the coat over her shoulders. He was atleast trying, she supposed.

"We actually don't have any ladies on our ship, so, you wouldn't have much, if any privacy though you could have it should they guys give it to you," Damien says as he sits up, looking at her. She shrugged. "Not a problem." She said plainly.

"Money wise, you get to keep half of what you get on the street, then we pay a sum once a month, unless you're here for the sake of adventure, then you get meals and when you want something we get it for you, or you just borrow it forever," Damien continued, seemingly annoyed by the explanation. Alexandrine stayed quiet, she wasn't too keen on speaking about why she was here, lest her temper rise and her curse activate.
Alexandrine decided to pulled back her hood, and show them her true face, scar and all.
"I'm looking for the man who murdered my husband, kidnapped my daughter, and slaughtered my entire village, and left me cursed with his rage and dz'e, I don't much care what dz/e crew is like, I was a warrior, I can work with anyone so long as they work with me." She said and though her face was even, her heart raced. She took a few breaths to calm it down. "I'm a fair enough sailor, but I'm really good at killing dz'ings."

Damien

Damien watches the lady as she pulls back her face. He doesn't react other than to study it then shrug. Wasn't the first time he'd seen a scar, and it certainly won't be the last when he looked in the mirror at bedtime.

"I'm a fair enough sailor, but I'm really good at killing dz'ings," She said, catching Damien's interest. "I'm a fair enough sailor, but I'm really good at killing dz'ings."

He considered her words. Normally, when one joined the crew, he would take them to where they wanted so long as he wasn't doing anything at the moment. This could be her thing, lest he wasn't busy with something, a girl, that was hopefully with his brother.

"Then let's find the bastard. They'll gladly work with you, just be a friend and they'll be one back. We won't kill often unless we need to, but so long as you can hold your own in a fight, I'd be more than happy to welcome you aboard. You will, however, need to provide me, or rather my brother, with information about the guy and your village so we'll know where to look for information." Sebastian was good at plotting, and even though he wasn't one to hunt someone down, people like this, he could hunt down better than most.

"Tonight, I'll introduce you to my brother. Would you like something to eat or drink?" Damien asks. He had a coin or two left and was sure others did too, plenty to buy something for two people, as long as they didn't order the entire menu.

Nearly halfway down the hall, Mako felt a small hand grasp his arm and he stopped, twisting at the waist to peer down at the teenaged girl from before with a grimace. She raised on her toes, eager to tell him something it seemed, and the shark lowered his ear to her lips, hearing her small whisper, Tell her…I am here.

The pitter-patter of feet sounded her swift disappearance for as soon as the shark straightened she was gone. Fast little thing…he continued to stare at the door with a contemplating frown. Had she known who he was seeing? Wasting no more time, the shark descended the stairs and left the inn with the eyes of the bothered innkeeper on his back. Time was always precious when he was on land for he never knew when he would dry out. He could only estimate.

The Brothel

The lights were out though through the window he could see candles lit on the upper floors. The whores were perhaps in bed—some alone and some with clients. Turning a golden eye over his shoulder, he swept the streets for riff-raff though he didn’t think any thief or rapist would dare break into the brothel while the Great White was visiting. After a close observation, Mako turned to the door and with a fist, knocked loud enough so that any who were inside could hear him, but quiet enough not to attract attention from the entire city.

Dorian smirked at the boy and sent another mental message to Kalila. "In the land I come from, master is indeed the term that an apprentice addresses their teacher. As for the boy, just play along. We can just walk down as we normally would. If we were in trouble, however, running by foot is far too primitive. Traveling through various planes of existence, dimension hopping, or even flying would be a better means. Those can be risky though."

As they walked down the street, Dorian kept to the side of the buildings. It was more of just a habit, so that if he was ambushed he wouldn't be flanked. After a bit of walking they got back to the docks, unhindered by the nonexistent enemies. He nudged his head towards Kalila's direction. "Which ship was the one that you belong to?"

Alexandrine nodded to the young captian. "Alexandrine Corvin." She told him and pulled a few coin for a meal. "I'll pay for my own meal."

"You never let me pay for anything, Do you Lex?"

"Besides your smartass comments, No I don't."

Alexandrine pushed the memories to the back of her mind, she couldn't think of him now. Not until Bluebeard was dead, and a dark memory.

Yet every so often, she'd catch his scent, or see him in a crowd...or feel him laying beside her in bed. 4 years and he still lingered, haunting her.

She took a seat and looked at the boy. "So, Which are you, Captian?" She asked idly.

"In the land I come from, Master is indeed the term that an apprentice addresses their teacher. As for the boy, just play along. We can just walk down as we normally would. If we were in trouble, however running by foot is far too primitive. Traveling through various planes of existence, dimension hopping or even flying would be a better means. Those can be risky though.

Kalila looked at him. "Flying is highly illogical, Master." she commented as they walked down the street.

Kalila wondered how much of her thoughts he could hear, the whispering of the voices, mixing with her own thoughts and feelings, she wondered if he could hear it all.

She walked close by him, finally feeling somewhat normal, then a thought struck her. He said he knew her mother.

She knew her mother wasn't from Jeddah, though she is Sultana. She always wondered what it was like in her mothers homeland, she would get letters from her cousins often, and gifts but never left to see them. She wanted to. This was her first time outside of Jeddah...outside of Ishkatan as well.

"Which ship was the one that you belong to?"

Kalila pointed at the Lucifer's Angel but looked at him. "We aren't going there, Master." She told him. "We have to find Damien...there's a woman I have to meet...He's with her now."
Kalila said and started walking ahead leading the way toward the tavern. "How do you know my mother, Master?" she asked. "I really miss her."

Aja heard a stiff knock at the door and knew immediately who it could be, especially so late. She descended the stairs, practically gliding as she maneuvered through the tables and chairs and reaching the door. She peeked out and smiled before opening the door.

"Hello D'ere." she said leaning against the door. "Come, I was beginning to wonder if you were coming at all." She said with a smile and placed a small kiss to his cheek. "I was just about to take a bath, care to join me?"

Dorian smirked when his new apprentice asked about her mother. He knew a lot of people, many under different circumstances. "I met her when I was traveling in the north, before you were born and the world was burning. Though I wasn't an important person and she wouldn't remember me if you brought up the name." He was of course talking about the war that burned the world. It was a terrible war and he was unfortunate enough to be in the North when Khalidor invaded.

"History is an important subject to any who study magic. It serves as a way to understand the world and draw out what we may think the future holds. Tell me child, what do you know of the Great War." He asked. He had met her mother only briefly, but he had heard that she went through a lot during the course of the war. Hopefully she told her daughter some things from that event.

Sebastian

Sebastian watched the two as they moved. He hated the silence and the way they seemed to be communicating without him. It was annoying. As if... oh great, they were talking with magic weren't they. He shook his head and paused as they reached the docks.

The men he had seen earlier were gone from the street when they got there. He leaned against a nearby alley wall, waiting for Kalila to decide what to do when he as grabbed again.

"You, you nearly killed our captain," Someone said as two others pinned his arms. Oh great. "No I didn't," Sebastian says as he groans, not wanting to to do anything but find Damien, and sleep.

One pulled out a knife and held it so Sebastian could see it. Sebastian groaned as he found the best way to win the fight between this man and his crew.

His leg moved quickly and the next second, the man in front of him was on the ground. The entire exchange was so quiet, the man sleeping at the mouth of the alley didn't wake.

Sebastian emerged a minute or so later, slightly dazed as he leaned back where he had been by Kalila though she and the guy in bandages were still talking.

He had been right, people were following them. Well, not them, him more so, probably thinking he was Damien. The biggest downfall as having the same face as someone, you got blamed for what they did sometimes.

"Let's hurry up and find Damien," Sebastian says as he points to Damien's favorite tavern to grab a drink. He was either there, or a few blocks down.

"You guys, maybe I should go to the ship," Sebastian says as he looks over at it in the night. There were lights on it so that would mean they would likely be okay, or someone was there to guard it. Either way, he didn't really care.

"I don't want anything except a way to keep a step ahead of my former employers and gold and food for my own survival," Theo said simply. He neglected to tell the Captain that his "former employers" were the gods he served. It was information he decided to keep to himself until it was more convenient to reveal it. At his offer to buy them food and drink, Theo grinned.

"You are the type of captain I like, good sir. I'll take some good stew to sober up. As for your crew, I will have most of them semi-literate by the end of the month," he boasted with a grin. He raised an eyebrow at Alexandrine's tale. He could sympathize. He lost more people than he cared to remember.

"What will you do after your vengeance, Alex? Soon, you will have to live again. Vengeance is a fleeting satisfaction."

He chuckled to himself.

"Once a priest, always a priest, eh? Some habits are hard to break."

(These may be rather short, Sorry, Long day)

Kalila shook her head. "She's told me some, most I've seen was from my father's memories, the ones they let me see. I know that there was a sorcerer, that he invaded my mother's homeland, Murdered my grandmother and grandfather and many other members of her family. Her cousin, to whom I call my uncle, He rose to power ending the war. sometime during that, she met my father, fell in love." She said, and for somereason her mind drifted to Damien. She ignored it. "I do not know all the details, but she became Sultana, after becoming High Priestess of the Ishka Temple, the goddess that I am the incarnation of." Kalila explained just as Sebastian appeared out of the alley she didn't see him disappear into.

He suggested that should get back to the ship but she shook her head. "Master, tell him, that if he shouldn't go anywhere alone, more men will come for him, attack him in his brother's place, too many for him to handle, they'll string him up, fly him like a flag." Her voice was eerily calm for such a dark vision but that was like that for alot of things. Emotions sometimes where muted.

Alexandrine looked at Theo, her brow arched after he called her Alex. "If all goes well, I'll my daughter back, She's all I need to live." She said, though her husband's ghost will haunt her memories forever, she wasn't able to let him go, not yet. Not until Clea was back in her arms...

She sat back and sighed.
"Understand, the man dz'at I am after is a myth in some respects, none have lived to tell about it. He likes it dz'at way. He was unfortunate enough to have come across me...I've been told I'm annoyingly difficult to defeat..."
"You know that Lex, One of these days, I'm going to beat you."

"No you're not."

"Not even when you're belly's as round as a pumpkin."

"Especially then, I'll have a mother's strength."

She took another deep calming breath, the memories were becoming too much to hold back.

"Have any of you heard of Bluebeard, taker of childern?" She said, with a hiss in her voice. "Because dz'at's d'e man we are after, if you can call him dz'at."

Most pirates knew of him, he was a legend, like the Crimson Lady, or Davy Jones, where they existed or not, was far from clear but they were not ones you wanted to cross.

Damien

Damien watched the exchange, listening quietly. He may talk often, and loudly, but he also could listen at the best of times. Damien watched as she seemed to have something go through her head. An old pain, or perhaps a memory. He had those too, as did Sebastian, Sebastian more so since he remembered more about the worse times.

Have any of you heard of Bluebeard, taker of children?" She asked, "Because dz'at's d'e man we are after, if you can call him dz'at."

Damien thought back, did he know of a Bluebeard? It was a weird name. He ran a hand through his hair as he shook his head. He knew people's faces better than their names.

"Damien, that's the guy that killed George's twin," Kato spoke up. George was back at the ship at the moment thankfully. Damien nodded, his head lowering.

George was Kato's best friend. During a raid, the group was separated from the twin, and when they finally found him, he was dead. There had been George, running to him, then he went down, but Kato helped him out and they managed to get back to the ship before the crew was forced to push off to keep from being overrun.

"I know the guy... Yeah, we'll be after him soon enough. We have some business to finish here in Nassau first. We've been having a... a weird day... a really weird day, and we need to make sure that some people are okay.

By the way guy, most of the crew knows how to read,"
Damien says softly, under his breath. "We can talk more on the ship," Damien says softly, hoping that he wasn't asked to explain that he was the only one in the crew that was pretty bad at reading.

Kato brought over a bowl of soup for the guy. "Well, eat up, and having a priest might be good. Some of us have... difficulty, talking or thinking of religious figures," Damien says with a shrug, "At all really."

Damien shrugs as he takes another bite of food. He looked out the window, wondering where his brother and Kalila were. Oh, Kalila... He shook his head. She was a freaking princess who hosts a goddess. Any of her friends back home would probably kill him on sight. He couldn't even consider the possibility. She couldn't communicate with him other than when they went through memories, or so he thought so far. She also couldn't be touched. At the thought of touch, Damien remembered the kiss and felt himself blush. He was blushing? He was blushing? He had killed, kissed, and even threatened, but blushed? Never. He ducked his head, ignoring the comment he heard Kato mention something about cupid.

#, as written by Sonata
The dark-skinned face that peeked out at him caused a smile to curl on his lips. Her greeting was like a seductive purr perhaps well-practiced or as natural as her beauty.

Hello D’ere…Come, I was beginning to wonder if you were coming at all.

“I ‘ad t’check on a…friend,” he said it as though the word had left a bad taste in his mouth.

I was just about to take a bath, care to join me?

Her small kiss had warmed his heart. “’ow kin I refuse?”

Bath Time

Mako had been larger than her marble tub. The artisan’s didn’t make such devices for his kind, but even so, he still managed to find some comfort within it. The tub’s lengthy shape allowed him to lounge against its slanted end. The steamy, bubbly water was below his chest and hid the rest of him up to his thighs. His legs hung over the side as the fae lay comfortably against him. He loved feeling her breasts against his chest and how the lamp light made her skin glisten like bronze. He dragged a sea sponge slick with soap gently up and down her back just above the humps of her bottom, and he massaged the lather into her back muscles with his other hand, his complexion a stark contrast to her own.

The Mercos’s skin was as white as sun-bleached coral in comparison to her own but was as fresh as the first snow when damp, baring a dim, healthy glow. His eyes were like golden rings drifting in a black sea, taking in her enchanting allure. It had been her beauty that had led him to wonder if he had really been attracted to the woman or had it all been her game? A tall bottle of gin was on a stool next to the tub for them to share, and seeing as the two had been so very relaxed, they may have already shared a few.

“I said earlier that I ‘ad went to check on a friend. ‘E was not alone. ‘E ‘ad wit’im a girl, an’ she told me, ‘Tell ‘er, I am ‘ere.’ I think she somehow knew that I was seein’ ye. I don’t know ‘ow. We jus’ met an’ I ‘ave never seen the girl in me life. She was strange. This comin’ from the strangest ov’em all,” he told Aja with a smirk.

Dorian sighed. "Boy, come back to the ship. Your brother will come back eventually." He told the young captain. He wondered how someone that young could acquire a ship. The title wasn't surprising since anybody who owned any type of ship could be a captain. He sat down on a barrel nearby and switched back to telepathy.

"That was a simplified version of the truth, but not quite. History is a key subject for us casters because we have to except all versions of the subject in order to find the truth of it. It's similar to casting our own magic. One must accept all versions, regardless of philosophy or standing, in order to truly become skilled." He told his young pupil.

"All war begins with an origin story. Decades ago their was an embargo on food from the North made against the empire of Khalidor over the issue of slavery that caused a widespread famine. The famine killed millions, gave rise to Wanhope, and created an intense hatred for their neighbor. Before you were born another famine hit that empire and instead of facing it, Wanhope ordered for the occupation of the North. The country was overran and thus began the Great War. Khalidor and its allies invaded the nations of Galapagos, Velilia, the North Atlantic states, and Valyrians. It involved twelve nations and hundreds of thousands of soldiers. The war finally ended with a change in regime within Khalidor, the new King of the North, and various treaties being formed." He told Kalila. It was still a lot of other things that made the war stand out among others, but it was a relatively simple summary that covered a basis. Of course there was still the fact that the mass genocide that was ordered in Galapagos and the North Atlantic made the people hostile to their neighbors. Dorian would have to teach Kalila a lot about geography if she wanted to learn. She would need to visit the magic centers of the world if she wanted to become a master in her school.

Laying comfortably against him, Aja circled rings around his chest as his hands moved up and down her back. She knew she was enjoying this much too much, and it wasn't the activity, though it didn't hurt. She felt safe, which was odd because she hadn't needed to feel safe before, most everyone on Nassau knew she was fae and that fear alone kept most at bay, sure there were times, like before, where disbelievers wished to test their might against her hand and she would handle it appropriately, yet now, she didn't have to worry about that, not while he was around anyway.
This comin’ from the strangest ov’em all,”

Aja looked up at him with wide eyes. "She told you...?" She said and muttered something in a different language. "D'e girl is here? D'en I must prepare."She said and rose from the water, she looked at him and frowned before stepping out of the bath. She grabbed a red shaw and wrapped it around herself, though water clung to her hair.

"D'ere is so much to do, oh so much to do..." She said hurriedly, moving about the bathroom, looking for her clothing, which was strewn about. She paused her haste and looked at Mako, and frowned again.

"D'at girl, she be more important, more powerful d'en you can ever possibly know..." She said, slowing down.

"She is going to change d'e world."

Kalila nodded, taking in his lesson as she walked. "Khalidor? I've heard that name before....Khali, she is a goddess yes? Like Ishka?" Kalila asked. Ishka had many names, her father had told her once, he said that even the Fae Goddess, Anansi, may be another form of Ishka as well. Kalila needed to know more about her.

[font=garamond]
Alexandrine was grateful for the change of subject. She didn't want to talk about Bluebeard, thought it was likely that the one Damien referred to was someone who took up the moniker, not the actual Bluebeard. It wouldn't be the first, people claimed to be the Crimson Lady, Bluebeard, Davy Jones, all the time, it was sad but true. She didn't know how many times she came to find her daughter and only to find some poor excuse for a pirate dressed up like a fool, claiming to be Bluebeard, probably was she saw Bluebeard's face. She knew it, it haunted her dreams, plagued her thoughts and Bluebeard, He knew her. He laughed in her face as he cursed her. Those fools, didn't know her from anyone else. It didn't matter, her rage took them.

She picked at her food, idly, her appetite was gone, she didn't have much of one to begin with.
