"Khalidor? I've heard that name before....Khali, she is a goddess yes? Like Ishka?" Dorian smiled when she asked that. It was common for people to try to compare one deity to their own.

"Khali is a goddess, yes, but she is fundamentally different from Ishka for two reasons. The reason people worship her and what she does with her power. In Khalidor the people were once enslaved by fae known as unseelie. Khali made their leader a living god and he freed the humans in the north that were enslaved. They named him a Godking and since then the country has strictly only worshiped her."

"While most deities use their powers to hinder other pantheons directly, Khali has done so indirectly. She gives a massive amount of power to the Godking, who in turn grants that power in the form of Vir to meisters. Then the Godking, with all his meisters, rules over the country with an iron fist. Khalidor used its magic to conquer more land and convert more people. When the old gods of the land had little power because they lost their worshipers, Khali would kill them."

"So unlike arcane magic that came from the Fae, vir is viewed as a type of divine magic since it comes from their goddess. They know a lot about healing and I studied in Khaliras for years studying their methods." He told her.

Kalila frowned. "Ishka would accept other gods, not kill them, she's nothing like Ishka at all." She said but she really only wanted to make sure that the goddess she was born as, wasn't an all powerful goddess, like she feared. She knew that Ishka wasn't the only god she inhabited, Yaenerio was within her too. However small, he cursed her while her mother slept, placed a spell that made sure that anytime she healed, she had to exact the same wound, on someone else, or taken it onto herself.

"Master...Do you think....After my training... I could speak? Like I am speaking to you know, but with my mouth and not my thoughts. I want....I want to makes friends...real friends, everyone is a afraid of me, and what I can do, and what I mean...If I could speak normally, then maybe I can change their minds on my own...." She said and looked at the ground, her mind wondering to Damien again. She didn't want that kiss to happen...not that way...not when her body wasn't her control.

Mako frowned suspiciously when all of a sudden the fae had perked up over some child. When she rose out of the water, he felt himself mentally kick himself in the gills. The water had never felt so cold right then. The shark just sat there scowling when she went scurrying about the bathroom like a storm was coming. Whatever…

Mako grabbed for the bottle of gin and tipped it back as she went about revealing some minute information about the girl and her importance. He could barely hear her through the pumping that filled his ears from his throat muscles chugging the gin. He lowered the bottle and gasped as the cool air brought soothing relief to the fire that burned in his throat.

“Interestin’ to know, ‘cuz I don’t know shit about ‘er t’care,” the shark replied grumpily.

All that he knew was that that little girl had ruined a good bath.

“Interestin’ to know, ‘cuz I don’t know shit about ‘er t’care,” Aja heard the tone of his voice and she looked at him and smiled. She stepped in the tub, so that he was seated in front of her between, while she sat on the rim of the tub, She gently took the bottle of gin and set it aside. "Forgive my haste," She said kissing down his temple and running her hands down his chest. "I have been waiting for d'at girl for centuries, so d'at now with her here, and self aware, I have to make certain moves for things to go as they are intended." She said and she realized that she never once saw him in any of her visions. She massaged his chest some more, and softly kissed the side of his head. Maybe he was a gift...she's been waiting for so long, maybe this is a sign that she is doing right. She was beginning to worry that she was cursed to sit on this island, watching the world go by, alone, but looking at Mako now. She was beginning to change that thought. " I still have plenty of time for you, Mi Amore."

Dorian's face remained straight. It seemed that she was still held onto the idea that she could speak, but what was stopping her? Was it just the voices or was it her throat. He had the hunch that it had something to do with this goddess.

"When you are done with your training you will only be limited to what you believe the limits to be. You'll be able to control when your goddess uses your body, when she speaks, and with time you will be able to speak as well. Until then you just need patients." He told her. Though he honestly didn't know how long it would take. It could take a few weeks or even years. Magic was always an unknown variable.

Kalila smiled up at him. "I'll try my best, Master, Thank you." she said and gave a respectful nod and soon they rounded the corner and were at the tavern. She walked in without any hesitation and walked up to Damien as he was seated with the woman from her vision, as well as a man that had a strange aura, it seemed as though a colors hovered over him, with a woman's shape, that was draped over him like a lover. He didn't seemed to be aware of it at the moment but Kalila could see it. She looked at Damien and thne to the woman. She pulsed in her vision and the voices started up in a loud roar, loud enough that MAster Dorian could hear if he were listening.

Find him, Find Bluebeard, Help her, End him."

Kalila swallowed and looked at her master as if to ask 'Can you hear it?'

The woman looked up at her, curiously. "Hello, Can we help you?" She asked gently, like a mother would. Kalila opened her mouth but her words wouldn't come. This was the woman she was supposed to meet yet she couldn't speak to her?

Kalila's eyes rolled up into her head and she began to convulse again, falling backwards as images passed before her eyes..

Alexandrine watched in horror as the girl suddenly began to seize. She got to her knees, and turned the girl on her side and stuck an sheathed dagger in her mouth so she wouldn't bite her tongue. She had a comrade back in her group, he would fall into fits like these all the time, so she knew what to do. She looked up at the banadged man. "Do you know her, Come and help?!" She ordered, holding the convulsing girl.

Sebastian & Damien

Sebastian was about to start walking back after hearing Dorian, then saw Kalila take off again. He immediately followed, watching her. When he saw her go into a tavern, he walked to Damien, not surprised to see him there.

"Hey, got any wine on you?" Sebastian asked, tired. Damien shook his head, wondering why his brother seemed so beat up. "No, Kato does," Damien suggests, not looking at his brother anymore as he watched Kalila, staring without knowing it.

He wanted to talk to her, pull her aside and tell her that there was something that was different about him after having met her. Was it that he met her or that he relived his memories? What could possibly be happening? Did she know? He'd ahve to let her write it, but it would be worth it.

Alexandrine spoke up and Damien was about to say something when Kalila collapsed. "Get back, careful, don't touch her," Damien says as he goes down beside Alexandrine. Sebastian, midswig of wine, dropped it and went to the other side, carefully taking Kalila from Alex's uncovered hands. Most of Kalila was covered by clothing and his jacket, but her head wouldn't be so fortunate, nor her hands.

"Do you know her, come and help?!" Alex ordered though Damien watched with a knot in his stomach. "Where's Jarrak?" He demanded to Sebastian. Sebastian shrugged, his eyes open wide. "Dorian, her guardian, told us we can't touch him. You seem to know what is going on with magic, what do we do besides just waiting?" Damien asks as he is careful to not allow her hit her head to hit the ground what with it's rough flinging about.

Damien couldn't get air in, he couldn't process what to do quite right. He wasn't hungry anymore, he felt like he was about to vomit. He never got like this. Why was he freaking out about this when he had held men while they died? This girl, maybe it was just her powerful presence. Maybe it was just that she had a father powerful enough to murder him with a flick of his wrist.

Sebastian watched Kalila, unsure what he could do other than keep himself from worsening it and her from hurting herself. What was going through her head now anyway? Could he or Damien ever touch her without these coverings to keep her from a seizure or something similar. She had kissed Damien and touched him, but she hadn't touched Sebastian willingly yet.

Maybe Jarrak knew. Where was the guardian? Possibly dead in an alley after his attitude towards Nassau. It would surprise him less than finding him alive. That was for sure. He looked at Damien and spotted his brother freaking out. He wasn't saying anything, too shocked to speak, but the fear and worry that never graced his face was racing across it in various patterns and ways. He looked like he was in pain himself, he had only ever been like that when Sebastian himself was hurt. Could Kalila mean more to Damien than Sebastian thought? Or was his brother just being a lover boy like usual?

The telepathic connection was cut as soon as Kalila's seizure began. Dorian had no clue what exactly caused it even though he heard those voices. Could it be that her body took stress when the voices acted up? He didn't know. What he did know was that the seizure couldn't be stopped with everything being perfectly fine. It didn't work like that.

Dorian knelt down next to Kalila and held his hands out over her. His left over her head and his right over her torso. His hands began to glow gold with faint blue. He was surging positive energy through her body that would protect her from any negative effects as well as calm the body down. Within a few moments her body became still. He picked her up and turned to the young captains.

"Kalila will be fine now. I'll take her to the ship for she has to rest now. We'll see you there." He said with a nod. He began to walk for the exit. Although his young apprentice was unconscious, it didn't mean that she couldn't learn at the moment. When Dorian was a young boy, his father would teach him even into his sleep. In the dream realm. First lessons, in his opinion, were supposed to be grand to begin with. Her first lesson would be on the Plane of Dreams.

Aja took the bottle of gin from him and sat it back on the stool. She returned to the tub, spreading her kisses down the side of his face as she stroked her hand down his chest. She explained a little more about the girl, but it wasn’t enough to sate his curiosity. Her kisses hadn’t been enough to make him forget what he had seen. She kissed him further and massaged her hands against his chest.

I still have plenty of time for you, Mi Amore.

The shark grabbed her wrist to stop her massaging and sternly looked up at her.

“No more secrets,” he told her. “This girl ‘ad ye runnin’ about the room as though ye life woz in danger. I wanna know why ye been waitin’ for this girl. What do ye ‘afta’ do wit’ ‘er and what does she ‘afta do wit’ ye? Since I been free, I don’t ‘ave much. I don’t intend to stay around this dump ov’a city fo’ long. Theodosos watched the girl quietly. He knew that feeling. She was no ordinary magician. The power didn't flow through her. It overwhelmed her. He could practically see it struggling with her. He shook his head. It couldn't be. No god willingly lowered themselves thus and no mortal would dare entrap a god.

He moved forward to take a closer look at the now calm girl. He frowned as he felt the power. There was no denying it. He was hoping it was a demon. Demons could be driven out, but a a goddess in human form...

"I do not envery this girl. Her mortal and divine natures are at war with one another. From what I've read, her divine nature will utterly destroy her mortal one. It has always been thus for the gods of Drake."

“No more secrets,” Aja jumped alittle when he snatched her wrist. “This girl ‘ad ye runnin’ about the room as though ye life woz in danger. I wanna know why ye been waitin’ for this girl. Aja sighed. "Mako..." She said softly. "D'is girl..." She said and looked at him, realizing that maybe she wasn't ready for this fate anymore. "She is going to..." She paused. " She is going to free me, I've been trapped here on d'is island, unable to set foot anywhere, not even in d'e water...because of a man d'at I once knew... " She said softly. "D'e girl will lift that curse...." She said and frowned sadly. Mako was never in her vision, she never accounted for him in all this and now it was happening, and her feelings for him had begun to grow. "You see," She told him gently, "D'ere only one way to lift d'e curse."

"She'll have to kill me to do it, and so she will."

Alexandrine watched as the bandaged man seemed to calm the girl with a hand. Alexandrine pulled away and left him to it.
Kalila will be fine now. I'll take her to the ship for she has to rest now. We'll see you there."

Kalila, What a pretty name.

"Well, I assume dz'at you know her," She said looking at Damien, " She is part of your crew dz'en?" Though she could tell by the way he looked at her, there was something more there, whether he knew it or not. "Let us go, make sure dz'at she is really alright?"

Damien & Sebsatian

Sebastian and Damien watched in awe as the magical act went about. Damien stood when Dorian did, watching Kalila, still concerned. As the man left with her, Damien could only stare after for whatever reason.

"Well, I assume dz'at you know her," He heard distantly, "She is part of your crew dz'en?" Damien just shook his head, then took off after Dorian and Kalila. Sebastian rolls his eyes as he motions for his crew to follow. "Let us go, make sure dz'at she is really alright?"

Sebastian looked at the new girl, back at Kato who nodded in confirmation, then back at the girl. "Captain Sebastian. Damien probably already welcomed you and explained everything. We met her this morning, had a weird day with her, had her help us, we helped her, sort of, and now my brother is... well... it's rather obvious if you know what it is," Sebastian says with a shrug as they step into the dark night.

When Damien arrived at his ship, he guided Dorian to his cabin. "Here, this cabin is where she's been staying," Damien says softly, moving his sketch book onto the nightstand as he sat on Sebastian's bed. He stared at Kalila, not wanting to talk to her since she couldn't respond, but not wanting to leave her. Jarrak wasn't here. So where was he?

Sebastian, as he arrived at his ship, looked to Kato. "Think you can make two temporary be-... no, four tempor-... five temporary beds?" Sebastian asked, having to count his guests and new crew members. Kato nodded, going to gather the materials. Sebastian already knew he was sleeping on the deck that night with most of the crew. During nights such as these, a lot of the crew slept on the deck under the stars.

"Want to sleep above or below deck tonight?" Kato asked the new members as Sebastian sat on a nearby barrel to watch the action as people prepared for sleep. He would probably fall asleep after Damien came up to give a status, or before three in the morning, whichever came first oddly enough.

Damien looked back up at the bandaged man. "You know who she is don't you? Can you... I..." Damien paused in his uncertain stuttering, gathering his thoughts before plunging ahead, "Can you help her? Get rid of her goddess or allow her to speak or... or just help her get away from the miserableness?" Damien asks, his voice raising before he realized it. He had started to stand too and sat back down, his eyes never leaving Kalila.

Mako…D’is girl… The shark listened attentively. She is going to…She is going to free me. I’ve been trapped here on d’is island, unable to set foot anywhere, not even in d’e water…because of a man d’at I once knew…D’e girl will lift that curse…

So far it hadn’t sounded as bad as she was making it. He frowned a little, waiting for her to reveal the kicker.

You se…D’ere only one way to lift d’e curse. She’ll have to kill me to do it, and so she will.

The revelation had been a kicker all right. He felt it sting his heart like ice though the Mercos’s expression was as unreadable as always. He released her wrist and turned his sights to the door as he mused over his feelings. The news had angered him, and he hadn’t understood why. The girl was a whore. He owed her nothing. But he hadn’t felt that way. He liked her, and he was certain that it was his own emotions and not any of her witchcraft. She had been the first woman in a long time who didn’t run from him or seen him as a monster. In her eyes, he was normal. She had seen him—all of him—and she hadn’t been forced to. She hadn’t been persuaded by coin. She had wanted to lay with him. Ever since he surfaced in the world of humans, nothing had ever been good for him. He was oppressed into his adult years and enslaved. He made a friend who had freed him and found a potential mate, and it seemed as though fate was trying to take all the good away from him.

“There has to be another way,” Mako finally spoke, his voice rumbling with anger. Grasping the sides of the tub, the shark abruptly rose to his feet and hissed, “I will kill her before she kills you!”

The shark brushed by her to pace the room for his clothes.

"You know who she is don't you? Can you... I..." Dorian raised an eyebrow, waiting for the lad to finish. "Can you help her? Get rid of her goddess or allow her to speak or... or just help her get away from the miserableness?"

"I know who she is boy. She's Kalila, nothing else, nothing more. A goddess's power is a blessing, but just like all blessing it needs to be harnessed so that she can properly use it. She hasn't been the first, there's been many others before her, thousands of years before, with much more dangerous goddess's. Kalila, luckily enough, has a kinder one. It'll take time and training that I will give her. As of now I will be performing a spell and nothing can forcibly wake us up. So nothing comes into her room. Should you even touch one of us, I will throw you into the Abyss so that Orcus can tear you limb from limb." He told the kids before he entered the room.

Step by step Dorian placed items and borders across the room. Entering the Plane of Dreams was a dangerous one, but it would be important to boosting Kalila's ambition if she could even talk to the voices freely. When he rested his body on the floor he let his mind drift.

Dorian walked through a black world and then appeared Kalila, which meant the spell was a success. "We can speak now, normally that is." He told her with a smile. "We are in the Plane of Dreams. Here we can find anybody who sleeps, make anything with a strong enough will, and in sense do anything. The possibilities are only limited to our minds. He began to step away and with each step the ground took color and shape. Eventually the area was a massive Palace out looking an ocean of waterfalls. "What would you like to do first?" He asked her. It would be best if she got her feet wet before trying to talk to those voices.

Damien

Damien wanted to go in, he wanted to find out what this guy had to do with Kalila, but he couldn't. He didn't even know what the guy had said, or meant with what he said that is. "Why am I so clueless?" He whispered, wanting to shout it though some of the crew was already falling asleep. He frowned and settled on the ground next to his door, leaning against the wall.

He didn't want to go above deck where he would have to face his brother, he did too many reckless and stupid things today, and didn't want to be chastised. He closed his eyes, trying to breath calmly. He wanted so many things to change. This Dorian guy for instance, he wanted him gone. Sure he could help Kalila, maybe, but he also didn't want her to be unhappy with her goddess.

He was about to stand and go climb up into the crows next a deck above when he heard footsteps and found Sebastian coming down to see him. "Hey, come up here, get some sleep. You've done a lot of stupid and tiring things today," Sebastian said without remorse. Damien shrugs and looks at his door.

"The guy in bandages, he said he can help Kalila, but something about orcas if we tried to go into our room... It was so weird... Why are our lives getting so complicated and weird now? We've done nothing, ethically, wrong. Why are we being messed with now?" Damien asks, groaning as he bangs his head on the wall behind him.

Sebastian shrugs, sitting beside his brother. "It could just be our amazing good looks have finally gotten attention," Sebastian says as he bumps into his brother with a smile. He never talked like that. Damien did, but he didn't. It made Damien smile and Sebastian smiled in return.

Damien shook his head ruefully. "You are learning too much from me aren't you little brother?" Damien asked, jabbing Sebastian in the ribs with a finger. Sebastian laughs and shakes his head. "I am only younger by a few seconds, that doesn't count," Sebastian says. The two smiled, they hadn't bantered like this in years, and only now, when things were crazy were they doing it again.

"Sebastian, why am I feeling different now?" Damien asks, growing serious. Sebastian followed suit and smiled. "Because, you have finally found someone you think is worth dying for that you aren't related to," Sebastian says, knowing that his brother would die for him and that he would die for Damien.

"But I can't... what is this? She's a girl, like any other isn't she?" Damien asks, confused and running his hands through his hair. Sebastian shakes his head, smiling at his brother. "No, you... you'll figure it out," Sebastian says eliciting a groan from Damien.

"Get some sleep, I know you don't want to get up," Sebastian says, smiling down at Damien as he stands. Damien heads above deck leaving Damien sitting there. Not too long after, he dozed off, his head resting against the wall behind him.

He dreamed of his day of stealing, finding Kalila, Kalila, his night in the dungeon, then things got better and it was Kalila again...

“There has to be another way,” Mako said finally before shooting out of the bath and hissing. “I will kill her before she kills you!” Aja watched him as gathered his clothes, she stood up and gripped his arm, before turning in front of him. " Mako." She said sternly but softly. " Something is different." She said and pulled him into a deep loving kiss. "D'is vision, I had, I was alone, I was in so much pain, d'e girl, she does end my life but she does so out of mercy, not malice." She said softly, stroking the nape of his neck tenderly. " However, never in any of my visions, have I ever seen you." She said and pulled back, but still holding on to him. " Something has changed, so perhaps my fate isn't set, but if you kill d'e girl, you will set d'e balance of d'e world, She does great d'ings, She is light, she will bring peace...she must live, we must protect her." She told him and kissed his lips softly. "She is much more important d'en me."

ImageKalila looked around as she stood alone in a vast blackness. She didn't know where she was or what she was doing but she couldn't hear the voices anymore. "We can speak now, normally that is." Master Dorian said as he appeared from behind her. "We are in the Plane of Dreams. Here we can find anybody who sleeps, make anything with a strong enough will, and in sense do anything. The possibilities are only limited to our minds. He said and the world began to change around them. She looked around him, and color and shapes began to form and soon they were standing in her home in Jeddah, but was looking out and ocean of waterfalls. "What would you like to do first?" Kalila looked around, not sure where even to begin. She walked out, wind began to blow around her as he mind was quiet, finally she didn't have thousands of voices playing in her mind, speaking in different languages, ordering her around, controlling her body. "This is a dream?" She asked him, looking around, her hands touching the pillers that she used to climb at random, scaring her mother and guardian. "I don't hear them, the voices, I can feel them but I can't hear them." She said. " It's so quiet." She said with a dreamlike whisper. "I can control things here?" She said and walked toward the waterfall, and froze the waters as it fell, the water floating in mid air as if time stopped. She tapped a water drop and smiled.

Mako stopped in his tracks when Aja stepped in his path with her hand upon his arm. She pulled him into a kiss and the shark eased down so that their lips could lovingly embrace each other. She then told him about her vision. She told him about how the girl would be showing her mercy, how he wasn’t in her vision, and her pleas for him not to go through with his intentions. The shark kissed her lips again and dropped his things to pull her close against him. He desired only to hold her as he tried to push her chilling premonition from his mind.

“Yer more important to me than ‘er. I don’t care what she kin do. If she’s so great why can’t she save ye? Anyone kin kill ye, but who kin really save ye? If she can’t, then I will find someone who kin. Tell me yer curse. Tell me why ye can’t leave this island.”

"I can control things here?" Dorian nodded as Kalila stopped the motion of the water. "My father showed me this place when he taught me the ways of magic. Since this is only a dream, there's no actual danger, so I could use evocation spells without the actual dangers. Eventually I taught my son and among others how cast this way. One can even create their own pocket reality that bends to their will. An excellent way to try new spells." He told her as he waved with hand. The room began to fill with music, as if their was a symphony being played in the next hall. One by one images filled the room until eventually it was filled with imaginary people.

"The people here believe themselves to be real, they even have memories, however false they may be. We can make anything come to life here, it's the perfect experiment ground. It also serves as an excellent way to communicate with others across massive distances. I believe that it is night in Jeddah right now and if you like me to channel you mana, you could attempt to speak to your parents. That is if you believe you can actually do it. After all, the only reason we're here is so that you can see that reality is only limited to what you limit yourself to." He told her as if he was making a challenge. Kalila showed promise in bending liquids, which were tricky, but the next step was contacting others. He hoped that she would be able to, even if it was for a moment.

Aja sighed, and took his hand and leading him out of the bathroom and to the bed, where she pulled him to her so she could lay beside him, once comfortable in his arms, she began.

"It was a long time ago, I was living in Anansai, where all Fae live. I had been walking along the shore when a human, hair so black it looked blue, he somehow washed up in Anansai, after a ship wreck, Anansai is protected by a magical spell d'at only lets the innocent and pure of heart enter. So I only assumed d'at he was. So I pulled him ashore and nursed him back to health." She said and sighed. " I should have let him die d'at day..." She said woefully
Image
. "Afterward, He stayed with me, in Anansai, I kept him safe as he fell in love with d'e purity of magic in Anansai and it was d'en d'at a noticed how gifted he was in magic. He was a mage, I didn't know what d'at was at d'e time, but I was fascinated by it. I taught him all the spells d'at I knew." She looked away ashamed. "The Fae Queen of the Seelie, she found out about this, and told me to cast him out. I didn't want to leave him so I left with him...After years we traveled together, and he learned all the light magic I could teach him. I thought it was enough...but it wasn't. He started to dabbled in darker magic, and once when I'd left to gather food, I returned to find that he'd set himself on fire, believing he could heal himself wholly. He was wrong, he could heal but his skin was scaly and disfigured. I stayed with him anyway, I have a love of misfits it seems..."She said with a smile to Mako before it faded again. "He began searching for away to get his skin back the way it was, but it took years, and he began to age, his skin disfiguring even further. I didn't age at all...and he wanted that, so I let him experiment on me, but it proved fruitless, his methods just caused the change to worsen, his skin turned a sheer green, his eyes black, but that wasn't the worst of it. The failure drove him mad, he left, for days he left, and I had no idea where he'd gone, but I waited for him. When he returned, he returned with children, many of them. When I asked him what he was doing, He told me, he found it, He couldn't create youth, he had to take it and before my eyes, he pulled the youth out of the child and it restored his skin . I screamed in horror, in Anansai, innocence, it is the purest of magic, and he just pulled that magic from the child, ending his life. I couldn't believe it and he didn't seem to understand what he'd just done. He left the children with me, told me to keep and eye on them while he collected more, the spell was flawed, he could use only one child a day, and the effects were temporary. So, in the dark of the night, I grabbed the children, sent them away, on a small ship to Anansai, where they'd be safe and placed a spell that would, as the moon rose, the children he collected would all disappear to Anansai, where he could never get to them. Of course, he found out, shocked by my betrayal, I knew he loved me, and a part of him did this so that he could stay with me forever but he was a monster, I couldn't let him do this, steal the lives of children, so I told them, that he would never have enough, he could take a thousand children but he'd never have enough to heal him. In a fit of rage, He cursed me, to live on this island, I would be forced to watch the world around me change, but be unable to satisfy my curiosity by exploring it, so he left, unaware of the spell I cast on the children." She said and sighed. "It doesn't seem so bad, now, but Nassau wasn't inhabited for a long time before now. I was alone for...decades." She said looking up at him. " If I try to leave, my skin will burn and never heal." She said looked down at her foot, where a scorch mark sat. "In my vision, He will stabbed me with a cursed blade, one in which doesn't kill but the wound will never heal...but it gives the girl the distraction she'll need to finally end him, and to end my pain, she will kill me...and I will be grateful." She said. "But something has change, your presence changes this vision, and i have not received another. I must find the girl, and perhaps with our combined mana we can forsee something different." She said and kissed him sweetly. " I had been resigned to my fate, have been for centuries...until you, Mako."

"Yes! Master, I want to try, I want tot speak to my mother, I miss her." Dorian stood in stance as his apprentice sat down. A bright white light channeled between the two. Both of them would need to find the Queen, but that would mean sorting through millions. It would be easier since a direct blood relative was also searching for her. Memories of the searcher could be used to find the target. Because of the sheer number people that would be sleeping in Jeddah, it would take a long time for them to find Clara.

In the Plane of Dreams time worked differently. What may be a day in the dream realm, was merely a few hours in the material plane. Hours had passed in the dream realm and Dorian was near to collapse from mental stress. Finally an image appeared between Kalila and himself. It was her, Clara.

Dorian was panting as he fell on his back. He was exhausted and wanted nothing, but to rest. However, that would not be the case for this night. "There!" He shouted in an indifferent tone. "She's here. It took nearly all the patience that I'll ever muster, but here she is." After this session was over he was going to spend a long, dreamless nap in his quarters.

Nassaras silent footsteps glided over the heavy carpeted floor of the manor, her robes flowing around her like jet silk, the breakfast laden tray she carried with her not making a sound as she noiselessly entered her mistresses chambers. The room was dark, heavy drapes on the windows obscuring the fact that the sun had been up for hours already. Nassara expertly navigated her way through the gloom to the small table at her ladies bedside, placing the tray delicately on its top before moving to the large, covered windows. The drapes were pulled aside and golden morning sunlight beamed in through the gap, the room growing brighter as Nassara tied them back with heavy cloth rope and moved on to the next window. The storm had blow over in the night and left nothing but the smell of rain and a fine mist of evaporating water in the morning light. Soon the room was bursting with glorious morning sunshine but her mistress's bed was still cloaked in shadows. The only barely translucent veils hanging from her four poster bed hid all but the vague outline of someone already sitting up in bed. Nassara finished her work and proceeded to the door when a soft voice from the bed stopped her.
"Nassara." Lady Elizabeth said, hidden from view in the veils of her bed, the voice disturbingly deadpan and toneless, somehow even more terrifying than her usual melodramatic extravagance. "See to it our guests are both served breakfast in their quarters. Especially the girl. I don't want Marcus to scare her. Tell him to have my regular morning tea ready in an hour and that I want a sample of all of them present for our young demon hunter to decide on," There was a slight pause as if she thought to say something else, but decided against it, "That is all, off you go."
Nassara nodded even though she was still unsure if her Lady could see her, though she had an odd feeling that Elizabeth could always tell exactly where she was. She turned and walked out of the room

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The kitchen had anticipated the guests presence and cooked appropriately, Nassara had collected their meals almost immediately and took them to the floor where the two guests were staying. She didn't like the man, he seemed far too proud of himself, so sure that he was in control of the situation and could do as he pleased, it was a trait held by pirates, and she wasn't convinced he wasnt one. She put his tray down out the front of his door and rapped on it smartling before proceeding down the corridor. She had left a note on his tray indicating when her mistress wished to see him on the balcony, and left the means of finding the balcony up to him. She arrived at the women's, no, the girls door, and knocked on it softly, before quietly opening the door and heading inside.

Morning came and Jarrak was cold, wet, tired and fruitless in his search for Kalila. He was also very, very angry. The bars had closed but the stores were only just starting to open and the smell of freshly baked bread and fish caught in the night being hauled in for sale was heavy in the morning air. it suddenly became very apparent he had not eaten since midday the day before, and he quickly bought some bread and dried fish and continued down the road. As he tore into his makeshift breakfast, he hoped that such a depressing meal would not be his last. To say that Kalilas father would be angry with him was like calling a hurricane a gentle breeze. Ever since he had entered the Misantries service Queen Clara had always kept him safe from the worst of her husbands terrible, and often unpredictable, fury, but something told him that if he lost Kalila, the Queen would be less than forgiving. He slowly made his way back to the Lucifers Angel dreading the idea that she had not returned in the night. He could run away, maybe, disappear, become a pirate like the Queens Aunt, Robyn Sheva. But he knew it would never last. Da'Karro Misantri would hunt him to the end of the earth, defy death and time itself to kill Jarrak. The man was a loving father and husband, but little few saw the terrible insanity that lurked behind his cold grey eyes, the reason he was once known as the Beast of the Harbinger. If he had lost Kalila then his life was over. He could only hope she was back at the ship.

Neviah

Neviah had been taken to a nice bedroom that had the bed concealed behind curtains. She had wandered the room for a while before just slipping into bed, exhaustion taking over. She had slept a dreamless sleep though it had been restless and she kept waking up at every noise in the night.

When the girl with the scarves came in with food, Neviah had been sitting up to get out of bed, but paused. She watched the girl in scarves, her eyes questioning. "What's your name?" Neviah asked, wanting to at least learn some of the names around the place. She knew lady harlington's just because of her introduction, but Neviah couldn't recall hearing this girl, or lady's name.

She was suddenly aware of how dirty she was. She had done nothing more last night than climb into bed, wanting to end the day faster than it had come. She felt wrong in the clean bed when she herself was not and probably made the entire thing dirty. Neviah watched the girl, maybe she could show Neviah where she could bathe or get cleaned up. That would be nice at the very least.

Sebastian

Sebastian had dozed off on his barrel leaning against the wall instead of on a sleeping mat. He didn't wake up first, why should he? He had a crew that could wake up and do what they needed to when they needed to so that he didn't have to.

Kato was just beginning to get things for breakfast ready when he spotted Jarrak. "Hey, where were you last night? Sent the captains on a chase looking for the charge you lost," Kato asks rather confused as to why his captains even bothered helping this man out when he was so rude to them. It wouldn't surprise Kato one bit if Jarrak came up and knocked Sebastian into the water just for the sake of irritating the young captain.

When Jarrak's response came, Kato shrugged and pointed at Sebastian who was still dozing. "Go see Sebastian, but don't wake him if you want to be keeping him from getting angry," Kato says. He continued with making the meal for the crew while everyone else continued their morning tasks. Even the youngest was mopping up the deck, rather happy Sebastian had slept on a barrel so he wouldn't have to wait for the captain to wake up to finish the job, he could do it all at once.

Sebastian had told everyone else to let the new people sleep since they were off to the side and wouldn't be in anyone's way, that is, if they wanted to sleep in. He really didn't care at this point and was content sleeping in the awkward position he was in.

The shark allowed the fae to lead him to her bedroom and it was there that they laid together. He kept her wrapped comfortably and protectively within his strong arms and he rested his chin atop her head as he listened to her story. The tale was long about the land of the Fae, her first love, and children. So Aja had been Fae…she was immortal and yet she wasn’t with the curse her old lover had set upon her. Mako raised his head and stared at her.

“I will do everythin’ that I can to protect ye and keep that vision from ‘appenin’,” he vowed. He kissed her lips and stroked his fingers down the side of her face. “If I am not in yer premonitions, then I may be ‘ere to change yer fate. I don’t think anyone could ‘ave predicted that a freak like me would ‘ave the heart of the prettiest woman in Nassau. Fates change, love. If I can, I will try to change yers.”

Mako rested his hand upon the side of her neck, his thumb rested gently against her throat as he claimed her lips in a heated kiss. His arm firmly coiled around her, holding her as though he didn’t wish to let her go—as though she would be taken from him tomorrow or when he was gone. He rested his forehead against her own and closed his eyes as he told her: “I will do whatever ye want. If ye want to find this girl now, then we will go together. I’ve seen ‘er, but I do not know ‘er blood so I am unable to track ‘er. However, she is with a friend, and I know his blood though it is long dry now…”

His eyes cracked open, his irises gleaming like eclipses as he mused. “There be a boy wit’em. Brown ‘air, average height, not much meat on’im. ‘E ‘ad been wantin’ the girl. Somethin’ about a guardian wantin’ to kill’im. Me description of ‘umans is poor. They all look alike to me an’ taste as foul as their personality. If ye can get somethin’ outta what I told ye, then I may be able to track’em down. I’m not the only one who likes to stay close to the water.”

“I will do everythin’ that I can to protect ye and keep that vision from ‘appenin’,” Mako said after looking down at her gently. He leaned down and kissed her softly, his fingers brushing down her face, causing her eyes to flutter, her eyes glossing with tears. “If I am not in yer premonitions, then I may be ‘ere to change yer fate. I don’t think anyone could ‘ave predicted that a freak like me would ‘ave the heart of the prettiest woman in Nassau. Fates change, love. If I can, I will try to change yers.” She smiled at him, before his hand rested on her neck, as he pulled her into a deep, loving, passionate kiss, holding her to him like he would fade away. She held to him tightly, kissing him with just as much passion, as tears crawled down her bronze cheeks.

She had accepted her fate, believing that she was the blame for all the childern's deaths that that man had caused, she accepted that her death would come with his, but now, in Mako's arms, she didn't want to die, she didn't wanted to live, right here, with him. “I will do whatever ye want. If ye want to find this girl now, then we will go together. I’ve seen ‘er, but I do not know ‘er blood so I am unable to track ‘er. However, she is with a friend, and I know his blood though it is long dry now…” He said and she nodded, after he pressed his forehead to hers, his eyes closed, before they sprang open again.

"I will scry, d'at way, I can get a sense of where she may be." She said and smiled up at him. She kissed him deeply once more. "D'ank you, Mako," She said her lips mere inches from his, now, brushing softly against him. " You've given me d'e will to live," She said softly, before kissing him again.

"There!" He shouted in an indifferent tone. Kalila looked over at him as he lay limp on the ground. "She's here. It took nearly all the patience that I'll ever muster, but here she is." He said and she looked ahead, and just before her, sat her mother, warm sunkissed skin, midnight waves of hair, deep amber eyes. She was dressed in a nightgown, clearly having been asleep. " Mama!" Kalila cried. Her mother seemed surprised but she smiled. "Lila? My Sweet, Is that you? Are you speaking?" She asked. " Yes, Mama! I am! I am! I miss you so much." Kalila whimpered, " Oh, my sweet, I miss you too," She said softly, reaching out to touch her cheek. Kalila's eyes closed as tears trickled down her cheek. "I found a master, mama, He's teaching me to control my powers." She told her. " He brought you here, into my dreams."
"That's wonderful, Lila, When you've finished, I would love for you to bring him to Jeddah, so I can thank him properly."
"Of course, mama," She said and then blushed. "Lila? What is it?" She urged. "I met a boy..." Kalila said hiding behind her hair. Her mother smiled. " That's wonderful, Lila, I'll be sure to keep that from your father for now." She said giggling. Kalila smiled. "Where is Papa?" She asked. " Here, watching my whilst I sleep. Where's Jarrak?" She said and "Here, on the ship." She said and looked at Dorian. " Master? Did you want to say something to my mother?"

"Hey, where were you last night? Sent the captains on a chase looking for the charge you lost," Kato said as Jarrak arrived on the ship, causing him to scowl at the large man.
"I wouldnt have lost her if not for your idiot Captains. I take it you found her then." He said, not letting the man see how much relief the knowledge brought him.
Kato shrugged and pointed at Sebastian who was dozing nearby "Go see Sebastian, but don't wake him if you want to be keeping him from getting angry."
"Do I look like I care about your precious Captains nap?" He said, walking off towards Sebastian, "Hey, asshole, guessing im not the only one who didnt get any sleep last night!"

"What's your name?"
The girl asked as Nassara put the tray down gently on the table and moved to open the curtains. She didn't reply. She couldn't really, not anymore. An unfortunate reason why she found it hard to not come across as cold or indignant.
