Dorian listened to the conversation between mother and daughter. It was nothing like that of him and his own father. The two hated each other with passion. It reminded him more of the talks he had with his own son. He yearned to see his family again yet he knew that was impossible. " Master? Did you want to say something to my mother?" Kalila asked him.

"You look stunning as always Lady Stark... I mean Queen Misantri." He told Clara with a blush, though it was blocked by the bandages. "You probably don't remember me, but I met you when you were just a Stark. Before the wrath of the Godking." He said pointing to the bandages on his body. "I will teach your daughter everything that I know that will help her. She'll be a skilled sorceress when she returns home with full control over her gift. That I promise." Dorian told her. He wondered when they would wake up. He wanted to be in the real world again.

"You look stunning as always Lady Stark... I mean Queen Misantri."
Kalila watched Dorian as he spoke to her mother. She was used to hearing her referred to as Queen Stark, but Lady Stark was new to her. Her mother only smiled graciously, as she often did. Her mother was known throughout the world for her kindness, just as much as her father was known for his malice. "You probably don't remember me, but I met you when you were just a Stark. Before the wrath of the Godking." Her mother rose her brow. "Oh?" She mused, trying to search his eyes for something familiar. "I will teach your daughter everything that I know that will help her. She'll be a skilled sorceress when she returns home with full control over her gift. That I promise."

Queen Misantri smiled. "Of that I have no doubt, Thank you ever so much for teaching her. She can be difficult for most, and it is good to see that she has found a patience master. You have my thanks, and I wish to extent an invitation, after her mission in Nassau is finished, that you come here, to Jeddah, so we can thank you properly." She said with a smile and the vision of her began to fade and flicker. "Mama?" Kalila gasped. " It's nearly morning here ,Lila, I have many things to do, I will see you again in our dreams, I love you, train hard, rest well." She said before her vision faded completely.

Kalila sat staring at the missing vision, and whimpered. "Mama..."

After a small moment of sadness, she looked over at Dorian.

"what's the next lesson, Master?"

Damien & Sebastian

Sebastian stared at his brother, watching him as he threw the knife across the ship. "You missed," Sebastian commented with a smile. He wasn't too much better than his brother in knife throwing, but enough so that he could tease him about it. Damien was better with swords however and beat Sebastian at that every time. Without much hesitation, Damien let a knife fly to embed itself three inches from Sebastian's ear. Sebastian looks over at it and smiles. "You missed again," He says to his brother who smiles and goes to retrieve the knives sticking out of their ships wall. They did this sometimes, it didn't damage the wood so long as they hit the practice plank, that was battered and gross from all the nicks of the knives.

"Hey, so about... well, a certain princess," Sebastian begins, taking the knife by his head out of the wall and fingering it. Damien doesn't look at his brother as he sheaths the knives in Sebastian's belt that wasn't attached to him right now. "I don't want to talk about her right now," Damien says softly. Sebastian shakes his head and puts a hand on his brother's shoulder when he offers Sebastian his belt.

"Damien, it's been two weeks, you hardly do anything but sit outside our room while she's in there working. You don't eat much anymore, you're getting too skinny, she's really doing things to you," Sebastian whispers softly so only Damien can hear. Damien shrugs, frustrated. "I don't know what it is Sebastian, there's something about her, I can't help it," Damien says as he shrugs and tries to move on.

Sebastian smiles and shakes his head. "It's called falling in love, you just know if she shares the feeling," Sebastian says. Damien shrugs. Not wanting to talk anymore. It wasn't her fault she couldn't touch him or talk to him. She couldn't tell him and he didn't want to make thins awkward so, he was friendly and talked to her and tried not to talk too much and tried to be okay and calm and failed and basically looked like an entire idiot.

"Hey, we gotta go get some more money soon. We aren't getting enough from just pickpocketing here," Sebastian mentions and Damien nods. "I'll let Kalila know and see if she has anywhere specific she might want to visit. She has been away from home, maybe she would want to go visit. Or maybe we should just wait, three days. We can survive three days then we can go loot, then we can do whatever. Deal?" Damien asks. He didn't want to just take Kalila if she didn't want to go, but he wanted to somehow communicate his feelings with her so she wouldn't just think he was abandoning her, a girl who he didn't have the time of day for. She was a princess and she couldn't stay on an island of pirates that would want to kill her or do bad things to her.

Sebastian nods, understanding, then stood. "Sounds good, go talk to her," Sebastian says in a friendly tone as he waves his brother off. If only all their problems were the problems of normal teenage boys. They really were anything but. Their past two weeks had been relatively normal, Damien going out to fight for fun, Sebastian looking for places that would be worth visiting, the crew goofing off and spending their own money as they deemed fit, and Kalila learning from Dorian as she progressed through trying to master her powers.

Damien walked towards where he knew Kalila to be, his stomach forming butterflies. Why was he like this? He couldn't possibly love a girl he had only heard speak a few words, help him get over his horrible nightmares, and touched him what... three times? Maybe four? None of them were by her choice so it wasn't anything that Damien thought she might have liked. Who would want to do anything they didn't like? He surely wouldn't. He had, but that was because he had to.

What was he going to say? He didn't know... "Kalila? Uh, are you awake?" He asks as he knocks on his rooms door. He wondered if she'd ever been curious about their stuff, if she might have gone through his sketchbook. That would be bad. There were a few pictures of her in there. He didn't want that. He was about to barge in before he remembered Dorian's warnings. He didn't know if Dorian was in there or not but he didn't want to risk the threat that made no sense to him either way.

Sebastian walked around on deck, checking random things when in reality, he was just bored. He wanted to go out and see some stores, maybe shop around, maybe just hang out. He would rather go out and explore or just wander or even go do one of those fights where he could earn money, anything but just standing there and doing nothing. Or even worse, boss his crew around when there was really nothing to do. He was pretty bored, he wanted to figure out a way to go get some books, maybe read some more. He hadn't read in a while and that was certainly unfortunate. He loved to read but never really got the chance as they traveled and or looted and or hired or fired their crew members. It was rather rare for them to get rid of a crew member.

Sebastian walked to the railing and looked over, wanting something to do and thinking about swimming when he flew over the side of the boat. As he crashed into the water, he looked up to see Kato smiling down at him with a few other crew members. "You looked a bit hot captain," He called down. Sebastian let out a string of obscenities then swam for the deck where Kato met him and hauled him out. "You know what, I was rather hot, you look hot too," Sebastian declared and tried to push Kato into the water in a good natured way. Kato didn't budge and inch, but side stepped sending Sebastian into the water again. The crew laughed and hauled their captain out. He was smiling though he certainly didn't find it as funny as his crew did.

Kalila sat cross legged on her bed, having mastered entering the dream realm without Dorian's help. He'd told her that she had a seemingly endless amount of mana, which was odd, but not at the same time. She was the Avatar for a Goddess after all.
Dorian had left a few days ago, with Jarrak looking for the men that were after her, they both seemed to think it was safe on the ship with the twins.

They were right.

Her eyes were closed and her face was blank save for a small barely noticeable grin.

Within the dream realm, a gathering seemed to be happening. She stood under a maypole as happy lute music played in the background, faceless patrons danced around her, laughing and clapping. Kalila herself lifted her skirts some and began to dance as well, a happy grin on her face, as she had no problem controlling her body,as she spun around happily, giggling...like a normal girl.
Image

She stopped when she heard her name called and saw Damien standing just before her. She smiled at him as he looked at her, and then bowed and extended his hand as if asking her to dance. Kalila swallowed and took his hand."

A loud knock at her door, forced her out of her dream realm. Her head swam and her heart raced. She'd mastered the entry but the exit was much harder on her. She had to take a breath and climbed out of bed, grabbed a piece of paper and charcoal as she opened the door.

She scribbled quickly, on the pad. "I don't sleep."

She looked up at him and showed him the paper but smiled. Lately, her heart had began to pound every time she saw him. Funny thing, she could hear his heart do the same thing when he saw her. She wondered then if he could, or would, dance with her. Not that she could. She still couldn't speak yet,

She looked up at him, found her face warm, and noticed that she was staring.

She dropped her head and began to scribble on the page again.

"Good Morning, Was there something you needed?"

and in that same moment, her eyes went wide and her body stiffened as she dropped her writing pad, as images passed before her eyes.

Another vision.

She saw blood, too much, she stood in it, her feet bare. She looked up and saw a pirate standing before her, his gun aimed at her chest, she couldn't move, she didn't know why but she couldn't move. She saw Damien rushing toward her but it was too late.
He fired.
Image

Kalila fell backwards on the ground, with a scream as if she actually been shot. She looked up at the ceiling, dizzily. The Vision was over and she had no answers.

Ishka, Why? Why I am going to be shot? She thought and looked at Damien and whimpered. Her Master and Guardian were gone, and she was scared, She didn't understand why she saw that. Jarrak would hold her, Master Dorian would consul her, she didn't know what to do but clamor to her knees and wrap herself with wide eyes, shaking around Damien.

Why was she so scared....better question would be, why was she shot? She was safe here, none of this made sense.

Damien

Damien tried not to give himself away entirely as Kalila opened the door. He would have blushed, kneeled and proposed if things were different. But he didn't. Instead, he stared stupidly at her, then at the paper she held up. That's right, the writing. He smiled slightly, his cheeks turning red. When had his cheeks ever turned red when talking to a girl? Of course she didn't sleep.

Damien looked to Kalila to see her smiling at him and returned the gesture. He felt his heart flutter and he hated himself all over again. Play it cool. Come on Damien, play it cool. Or at least try to. He found himself caught in something about her eyes when he realized she had started to write again. He had stared. Definitely stared. Yeah, he wasn't playing it cool. Was there something he needed? He racked his brain, surely he had come to see Kalila for a reason other than just to talk to her. It took him a second, staring at the message dumbly before realizing what he had come to her for and smiling, perking up as he knew what he was going to say.

Then Kalila changed in front of him. She froze and he recognized the look glazely look over eyes. "Kalila? Kalila," He begins, trying to snap her out of it without having to touch her in fear of the repercussions. She fell back and screamed as if she had been hit with something. She stopped, was awake then, but wasn't moving. Damien didn't know if she was conscious or not, but he walked forward, kneeling beside her. He didn't move to touch her, he didn't like to as he was afraid of the seizure like thins she went into.

When she looked up at him and whimpered, Damien's heart shriveled up. He couldn't believe that he couldn't do anything to help her. He has promised to help, and so far had done nothing. Damien was shocked when she wrapped her arms around him. He didn't hesitate though when he put his arms around her. "Shh, it's okay. I'm here, I won't let anyone touch you," Damien whispers into her hair softly. "I promise I won't leave you behind," He whispers again and again as he holds her. He didn't want to let her go while she was still shaking. He wouldn't.

Image

"Kalila, listen, we need to go to a port where we can work, would you possibly want to visit one of Jedah's colonies?" Damien asks softly, sitting on his butt so he wouldn't fall over if the ship moved all of a sudden. He reached out with one hand and grabbed her charcoal and paper and passed it to her, keeping his other arm around her the entire time. "We're running low on money and our closest safe is too far away," He explains as he runs his hand over her back.

He hated he couldn't help her any more than he was trying to at the moment. What had she seen that had caused such horror in her eyes? Did she have a vision of the past or of the future? He wondered if he was there, or if she was long gone from him as she left him in the future. He shook his head slightly, he couldn't think like that, he'd be destroyed.

Kalila was breathing heavy as she lay against Damien's chest. He tried to consul her and she heard him but his memories passed through her mind as he held her. She tried to force them out but it wasn't working, so she focused on his face as she sat shaking. After a moment, she was able to focus, his memories were muted and all she could focus was on his eye.

. "Shh, it's okay. I'm here, I won't let anyone touch you," Damien whispered and she looked at him. She wanted to believe him but it wasn't true. He would try. That she knew for sure. "I promise I won't leave you behind," He said and she nodded.

After a quiet moment, His memories were all but gone, they were in her memory sure but they weren't flooding her mind, and making her head hurt, they were calm.

"Kalila, listen, we need to go to a port where we can work, would you possibly want to visit one of Jeddah's colonies?" He said and her eyes went wide as she looked at him. "We're running low on money and our closest safe is too far away,"
Image

He was a pirate, the only work he could do would be to raid, he couldn't raid one of her mother's ships, if he did, then....

Her vision. It would come true. She would be shot once they went on a raid. Would she die? She didn't know.

Damien then placed the writing pad and charcoal in her hand and she looked at it. For some reason she didn't know how to tell him, that he would try to save her but fail. She looked at him and her breathing picked up again.

Shakingly, she wrote on the pad. "I want to go with you."
Resigning to her fate.

Damien

Damien saw the look in her eyes, the one where she thought of him as a pirate. It hurt. He immediately felt himself take a deep breath and push the idea of them, out of his mind. Why did he keep forgetting that? He could not have her. It wasn't possible.

When she began to write, Damien watched. He smiled, his heart already heavy. He hid it well as he read the message. "Wouldn't dream of leaving you behind," He says then stands. He helps her up and looks down at her. She looked dainty, fragile. She was anything but and could probably kill him if she really wanted to. She did have a goddess on her side after all. Even Damien couldn't fight a goddess.

"So, I think you should stay on the ship when we go into town for the actual... work part. We'll go the day before dressed all nice and stuff, then we'll go in the next day to get stuff done," Damien says as he drops his hands, realizing he was still touching her. He wondered if she was okay. She had touched him first so he had taken it as a signal, but he wasn't entirely sure.

Damien looked down at her, then went over to his book and grabbed it. He didn't want her looking at it. It had more than his drawings, it held a lot of memories too. He tucked it into the drawer hoping she wouldn't think to look in there since he was putting it away.

"Come on, let's go grab something to eat. We'll probably leave tonight so we can dock tomorrow morning," Damien says as he heads out the door and above deck. He saw Sebastian wet and smiling but also with a glint in his eyes. "Ohh, you're planning something. I can see it in my eyes that you have," Damien says with a smile as he recognized the glimpse. Sebastian nodded and rubbed his hands together in a funny way, joking about it.

As Sebastian went below to change Damien grabbed his gloves hanging out of his belt, leaving Damien to make the announcement. "Tonight, we leave to go get some money. Get ready," Damien says before turning back to Kalila. "We should go get you something to wear into town so they don't recognize you," Damien says offering her a hand that he had gloved. "Do you want to go to a Jedah colony or another place?" Damien asks again, curious as to what she was going to say.

"Wouldn't dream of leaving you behind," Damien said and Kalila smiled at him. She knew he wouldn't, but if her vision came true, then she knew, he'd try...and fail. She watched him stand and got to her feet, her hair hanging over her face in stringy waves.
"So, I think you should stay on the ship when we go into town for the actual... work part. We'll go the day before dressed all nice and stuff, then we'll go in the next day to get stuff done," He said removing his hands. The pressure on her mind was gone then but it was oddly dull. She had a good percentage of his memories, trapped in her mind. She saw a few of them, where he'd sketched her face in his book.

He made her look so normal in his drawings, even though she was far from it. They looked so nice, she wondered if that's how he saw her. If she was really as pretty as he saw her. "Come on, let's go grab something to eat. We'll probably leave tonight so we can dock tomorrow morning, He said and she nodded. She was rather hungry. She ate a lot. Much more then her body seemed to ingest.
She followed Damien to the top deck and she somewhat hid behind him. Master Dorian and Jarrack was gone and who knows when they'd return, Kalila couldn't help but feel a bit alone. If it weren't for Damien. Sebastian was fine but she felt closer to Damien....probably because of that kiss Ishka made her give him. Her face reddened at the thought. We should go get you something to wear into town so they don't recognize you," Damien said, shocking her from her thoughts. [b]"Do you want to go to a Jeddah colony or another place?"  He asked and she looked at the writing pad.

”Not Jeddah.” She wrote, somewhat nervously, trying to avoid her vision as best she could. If only she could speak....If Master Dorian returned then maybe he could continue with her training. . ”Someplace else.

Damien

He didn't quation where Kalila moved to stand, though he wasn't worried for her. They were on his ship and he most definitely wouldn't let anyone touch her though nobody would in all reality. All of the men on the ship were good people, other than the part where they would kill if they need to and steal in order to survive.

When he saw what she wrote, Damien wasn't surprised at all. She didn't want one of her country's ports to be raided. They'd head to the closest town that would be worth it. "Puerto then, we'll go there and do work in the best way possible, then we'll come back here to wait for Dorian and Jarrack," Damien says with a gentle voice. He knew it must be hard for her. It would be hard for anyone to realize that they were with a group of pirates that stole for a living.

Damien grabbed for his wallet, happy to have it at his belt. "Come on then," Damien says tugging her along with his loved hand towards town. "Let's grab something to eat, then we can shop," Damien says as he leads her along to a restaurant he enjoyed and thought she might enjoy to. He hoped she would since he wanted more similarities between the two of them.

He pulled the door open for her and held her seat out for her. When he went to go put in an order, Damien noticed a few men eyeing Kalila. If only they knew she could definitely kill them in a fight. He could too. When one moved to stand, Damien moved back and went to the table, placing a hand on Kalila's chair and staring at the man with a warning. He seemed to recognize Damien, or at least recognized him as Sebastian and sat back down. None of the men looked over again as Damien sat down.

"So, Dorian... and Jarrak... I don't know when they'll be back. Can you, should you spend time away from them for a while? Like, doesn't Dorian help you control them?" Damien says, knowing Kalila would get him referring to the voices. He wanted to talk to her, wanted to hear her clearly. Maybe hear her say his name, or her name, or basically anything that was actually her. In person. Not in his nightmares when she came with him. Maybe touch her, like hold her hand or hug her without fear of her getting hurt or having to suffer.

He would go visit a friend in Puerto, that's why he chose that port. Maybe the friend could give Kalila some advice or some talisman or something to help her control the voices, or restrain them for limited periods of time. If he was lucky he would get something that would answer his prayers. It was unlikely, but it was a good hope.

"Puerto then, we'll go there and do work in the best way possible, then we'll come back here to wait for Dorian and Jarrack," He said and she sighed a little relived. Maybe they could avoid the vision, all together. "Come on then," Damien said and nodded, she was glad to have his hand, gloved or not. It still managed to make her heart flutter. "Let's grab something to eat, then we can shop," She nodded to him and followed along with him, holding on to his gloved hand.

She walked with him into the shoppe and smiled at the new experience, Jarrak always got her food, or she ate on the ship, she never ate in public before. She smiled at him as he chose her chair, like a gentlemen. Mother would be smiling now if she saw this. Mother always said Father was a gentlemen...when he was alone with her. Father could be so brutal when others were around, Mother said it was because he wasn't used to people and so he had a hard time trusting him.

He went to order their food and she noticed people looking at her, men, specifically. She took noticed but she didn't let it bother her. She could kill everyone in this room if she really wanted to.

She smiled up at Damien as he came back, standing protectively over her and she looked at him curiously. What did that mean? He did what Father does, when he's out with Mother.

Is Damien protecting her? Why? Did he feel the same as she did? She would have to comb through his memories later, to see for sure.

"So, Dorian... and Jarrak... I don't know when they'll be back. Can you, should you spend time away from them for a while? Like, doesn't Dorian help you control them?" He asked and Kalila sighed and grabbed her writing pad.

"I still hear them, but their quieter now, Master Dorian has taught me how to quiet them, but that's all, He's been teaching me to control my mana, I can create dream realm where I can speak normally...." She wrote and them smiled at a thought of something.

"Sleep with me, Tonight!"

Image"Mako..." Aja said sitting across the bar with her legs crossed, looking over at the boy and girl as the girl scribbled in her writing pad in response. " There she is." She said her heart pounding. "We've found her."

Mako’s hat was low and obscuring his face. He had noticed Kalila just as Aja had and also had noticed the other patrons in the shop eying her. A long frown stretched on his face as he thought about the trouble he might have just to either: a) get her to cooperate, or b) have a private talk with her.

“I got it,” Mako assured Aja.

When the shark rose off his stool, there were a few eyes darting to him and growing in size as they visually sized him up. Mako walked straight over to the table where the girl and, from what he understood, the same boy from before sat. He stopped before their table and slapped a large hand down upon it before he leaned down, setting his gold and black eyes mostly on Damien. He leaned down far enough so the teen could see his eyes from beneath the rim of his hat and he said plainly—it wasn’t a request, but a demand: “A lady friend of mine needs to talk to the girl. Alone.

He then told them her location so Kalila would know who and where to go in the case she decided to go meet Aja: “She’s the only pretty face at the bar.”

Damien

Damien looked down at the notepad. I still hear them, but their quieter now, Master Dorian has taught me how to quiet them, but that's all, He's been teaching me to control my mana, I can create dream realm where I can speak normally.... He smiled and shook his head slightly in wonder. It was amazing that she had such abilities. It also was rather bad sometimes as it did restrain her.

A dream realm, eh? Well how was Damien to get to a dream realm when he had no such power as Kalila? Dorian could go because, well, he was Dorian... and he was weird. But Damien? Not as easily done. Sleep with me tonight she wrote and Damien froze slightly. "Kalila... what... can you... the dream realm?"He guessed hesitantly. He wasn't sure what else she could possibly mean since he was sure it wasn't that. He could barely touch her hand without her seeming to have be extremely focused. He shook his head in wonder again, then realized what he was doing and nodded his consent. If she could actually talk to him, even if it was just in a dream... well, that'd be great.

He was so caught up in his own thoughts, he didn't even notice someone was approaching until a hand slammed onto their table. Immediately, Damien's hand went to his hip where his sword hung in it's scabbard. It was some giant guy. Damien was fairly certain he had never seen him before though he seemed to know Damien. Great. An enemy he doesn't remember making. "A lady friend of mine needs to talk to the girl. Alone." Damien was about to open his mouth to say no way, not going to happen, stand up and leave with Kalila, but wasn't fast enough as a location was stated by the guy.

"She's the only pretty face at the bar." He says making Damien's eyes dart to the bar. He knew exactly which one this guy was referring to and it was true, she was the only pretty face since she had little to no competition with the men beside her. Damien just nodded his understanding, his eyes resuming their gaze on the guy. He didn't like him, or had some other feeling towards him, but certainly not an impulse to try to be friends.

When the guy was going, Damien turned to Kalila. "You aren't going there without me," Damien states in a way that would allow no protesting. "It's the... well... It's like the red light district of Nassau... If you go there... I'm coming with you," Damien finishes. He knew she could handle herself, but he couldn't stand the thought of someone touching her in the first place. He was being slightly overprotective of the goddess containing girl, but who wouldn't be? Jarral would kill him if anything happened to her and he would never forgive himself.

"Do you know her?" Damien asks, curious now that his bout of worry had passed. He was curious about the lady too, but he certainly wasn't going to make it overly obvious by stealing glances at her every few seconds like some of the men in the room were. Damien wasn't going to be like everyone else. That wouldn't do.

Kalila watched as Damien read her message, and his face seemed to redden. She looked at her pad and a blush came to her face as well. She sighed inwardly, then stiffened as the large man from before arrived, and as he spoke to Damien, her eyes went straight to the fae across the bar.

Kalila's eyes started to glisten, as she looked at her. She's had this vision for sometime, she was very small, a child. It was one of the first ones she had. Of her taking the life of a beautiful fae. It gave her nightmares for months.

The Fae woman's eyes locked on to hers and Kalila slowly rose from her chair, ingoring the men, unable to take her eyes off of the woman.

She was only able to hear Damien ask; ""Do you know her?" Image

Kalila's breathing quickened, she looked over quickly as Damien only to be distracted against by the Fae woman and slowly, she began to walk across the bar.

The woman turned to her with sadness and sympathy in her eyes. “Oh, no, Little One....please don’t cry.” She said but it was too late, Kalila’s tears streamed down her face as she walked up to the woman, who cupped her cheeks softly, and kissed her forehead. “Shh, Don’t cry, Little One, It’ll be alright.” She said but it didn’t stop Kalila’s tears, it did little more then make the tears fall even faster, as she lay her head on the woman’s chest.

Aja caressed the girl against her bosom, wrapping her arms around her, keeping her memories blocked from the very special young girl. She knew who this girl was; not her given name but her birth right. She was Anansi, known as Ishka to her people. The girl, she knew to be sweet, and have the weight of the world, proverbial on her lithely shoulders. She pressed a sweet kiss to the girl’s forehead. “Shhh.” She cooed, and the girl still whimpered. Aja sighed softly. “You are such a beautiful girl, a beauty like you shouldn’t cry,” She said and the girl looked up at her, her mouth moving as if she wanted to speak but was unable. She knew the girl to be a mute so Aja pressed a slender finger to the girl’s small pink lips. “ I think you’re friend would like to see you smile, He’s eyes has yet to leave you, even with me here.” She said and smiled, not meaning to sound vain but she knew what to say to the bashful girl, who blushed in response. “Come, dry your tears, you should never let a man see you cry, at least not true tears.” She said with a giggle that rang like soft bells in the distance. The girl looked up at her, and tried to smile, but it only came off as a crooked sneer. Aja smoothed the girl’s stringy hair from her face. “ That’s a good girl.” She said. “Can you tell me you name, Sweetling?” She asked her and the girl touched her lips. Aja nodded and pressed her forehead to the girls. ”Speak your name, Sweetling.” she told her, in her thoughts. The girl gasped. ”Kalila –si-Ishka” She said and Aja smiled and pulled away. “ Such a pretty name, for such a pretty girl.” She said and Kalila blushed. “Come, Kalila, let us go, we’ve a lot to do.” She said and lead her to the men. Image
Aja looked at the handsome boy and smile. Kalila seemed smitten with him as she looked at him, trying to be brief, but failing, she looked at Mako and seemed oddly unafraid but seemed curious as she gazed up at him, straining her neck to see him. “Mako, This sweet girl, is Kalila, She says hello.” She said and Kalila looked at her oddly as Aja held her round the shoulder comfortingly. She looked at the boy. “ Young man, You must be curious as to why I can speak to her, and hear her speak. It is because I am Fae, I can communicate through thought.” She said and smiled playfully ”She likes you too.” She said with a wink.

Damien

As soon as Kalila stood, Damien followed suit, watching her as she moved forward. When the woman reached to touch Kalila, Damien tried to call out a warning. It was too late and he was about to move forward when he saw that Kalila was okay. The lady was touching Kalila and not hurting her. Why was it that it seemed as if only Damien couldn't touch her?

The lady was speaking to Kalila, trying to calm her as she seemed to start crying. Damien wasn't certain from his angle, but Kalila's shoulders were shaking slightly and the other lady still held her. Damien wanted to move forward, to go see Kalila and make sure she was alright, but he didn't. This moment seemed to hold something important for Kalila and he would not interfere. Damien heard Kalila gasp. He felt himself take a step forward, but restrained himself a moment later.

When the ladies returned, Damien let out a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding in. When she returned, it took nearly all his will not to scoop her into his arms like he had that morning. Damien smiled at her, his chest aching slightly to see the remnants of her sorrow. Why did she have such a curse that was the gift of a goddess? He'd rather take on the goddesses will than let her continue on with it.

Damien's eyes were still on Kalila when he heard someone speak to him. He used to be a lot more observant and now he nearly jumped when he heard the voice directing words at him. The lady was speaking to him in a gentle voice that he had scarcely ever heard. It was as if she could be his mother the way she spoke. His mother... He shook his head inwardly. Never had one and never needed on with a twin like Sebastian.

Damien nodded at the explanation. Good. That meant the world wasn't laughing at him entirely. His life was just getting progressively weirder. It had at least brought Kalila to him which wasn't a bad thing at all. Through thought. Not weird at all. When she smiled in a way Damien wasn't too sure about, Damien was about to ask what she was doing or about to do when he heard a voice in his head.

His eyes grew wide and he looked between the group. Each one in turn. Kalila had healed him with a kiss, had gone through his memories, and now he just had someone speak through their thoughts to him. That shouldn't be as bothersome as he was reacting, but it was freaky for him. It would be freaky for anyone really. Finally her words made sense to him and Damien ducked his head. He was blushing. He was blushing in front of people over a girl because he had been told she liked him. He gave a smile to the lady before just shaking his head in wonder again.

"Well... I... Um... I think you know what I'm trying to say," Damien says with a nod, hoping she would understand that he meant to say he liked her back without actually saying out loud for Kalila to hear as well. "So... How are... Can you help her more? Since you can like... Talk to her for real?" Damien asks, hoping that this lady might be able to help Kalila more with her training so that she wouldn't have to suffer from the voices.

#, as written by Sonata
The shark was silent through the interaction, though keeping an eye on the boy who seemed to be making motions that he didn’t like. If he tried to attack Aja…well, it was easy to say that their meeting would no longer be pleasant. The way Kalila reacted to Aja upon seeing her, didn’t settle with Mako. It made him nervous. Why was she crying? Could it be because she knew of her possible fate? Just thinking about it lit his blood on fire. His lips rolled back over his vicious teeth in a deep frown.

Stop crying, he thought. It was irritating him. Nothing bad was going to happen to the fae. He wasn’t going to let it, so she could stop crying!

Aja managed to get the girl under control, and it was a good thing that she did for frankly, he wouldn’t have been able to take it anymore. He might have yelled at the girl and scared the tears out of her.

Mako, this sweet girl is Kalila. She says ‘Hello.’

The shark simply turned his back to the situation. He had nothing kind to say to the girl destined to kill his woman. He also didn’t have anything nice to say to her apparent boyfriend. He had been there strictly for Aja’s concerns and so he didn’t care who they were.

Why were the gods so cruel? Theodosos often wondered that. In his short time observing the girl, Kalila, she had struck him as a kind, pleasant girl. Yet, he could feel her pain as she slept. He stood outside the door, listening to the conversation. He felt a pang of sympathy for Damien. This was the type of tragic love Lila adored.

What are the gods? What gives them the right to play with us so?

He could definitely sense something magical inside. It was likely he or she could hear his thoughts or at least his feelings so he entered the room.

"The girl may be helped, but the gods' will is immutable. What they desire will be, no matter how hard we fight it. Gift or curse, it matters not."

Aja couldn't help but smile at the young boy as he blushed in response. Young Love, it was truly the sweetest of all love.
"Well... I... Um... I think you know what I'm trying to say," the boy said and Aja nodded. "Indeed I do." She replied as Kalila slipped from around her and over to the boy. It looked as though she felt safer with him. Aja smiled. That would good. Aja knew the feeling as she stole a glance over at Mako, who clearly did not like the situation. She couldn't blame him. What person in their right mind would actively try to find the person that was fated to kill them?

Aja sauntered over and brushed her hand over his shoulder and gave him a soft smile. "Relax, my love." She said with an earnest smile. "Today is not the day." She said and it was also to Kalila too. She was just on edge as he was.

"So... How are... Can you help her more? Since you can like... Talk to her for real? the boy said and Aja looked at Kalila oddly. " I suppose I could." She said and thought back to her vision. She was speaking then. Clearly and eloquently. If she couldn't now, that means it would be a good while before she was to meet her fate. To that Aja had to let of a small barely audible sigh.

"I believe I can. Yes." She answered just before another powerful presence appeared from behind them. "The girl may be helped, but the gods' will is immutable. What they desire will be, no matter how hard we fight it. Gift or curse, it matters not." Aja turned and could sense the aura surrounded him. She cocked her head curiously. "Indeed, however, our will has it's own power." She said, slightly annoyed by the mystery man's words. His words couldn't be true, if they were, she would die, and no doubt, Mako would kill the girl, or at least attempt to. She couldn't let either of those things happen. She was about to speak with she felt a familiar aura. She stiffened as the aura came closer and closer until it was right at the door of the bar. She knew it couldn't be him but it didn't stop her heart from racing.

It calmed though immediately as a woman walked through the door. Aja looked at the woman as she approached the man, seemingly with supplies.

"Who are you two." She asked but her eyes were locked on the woman.

"Alexandrine. You?" said the woman, her accent foreign to Aja's ears. "Aja." She said and Aja decided it was best to ingore the woman and why her presences was so familiar. Maybe she was one of the children she rescued from him?

Damien

Damien watched the exchange and was slightly surprise at the relief that overcame Kalila. What were they talking about? He was so confused, not the first time since he had started interacting with the princess. Should he call her princess? The thought finally crossed his mind. He didn't think so and he didn't think Kalila would like it anyway.

Damien smiled as he looked at Kalila, reassured that she would get the help she needed to control the voices more and help her with the powers since Dorian was gone and all. When Theodosos came in, Damien was pretty surprised for whatever reason. Damien didn't speak as he looked at him. He didn't believe that the gods had incredible power. He thought them to be cowards and in all reality, didn't care about them. They didn't or haven't ever helped him, so why should he care about them?

How hard they fought had nothing to do with anything. Damien just gave up with caring about the gods years ago. Damien looked between Aja and Alexandrine. "They're both part of my crew," Damien explained easily as he looked at the server who had brought food over. It seemed like such an ordinary thing in the current chaos of the day.

"Ah, so, are you going to be staying with us then?" Damien asked curiously, wondering if he would have yet another guest on his ship. He didn't know if he should invite the larger man though as he didn't seem to keen to be around Damien. Damien looked around. He didn't quite know what do to and didn't really want to just leave. He needed to keep Kalila with him, near him so that he wouldn't loose her or allow someone to hurt her, on purpose or on accident. He would have put his arm around her to comfort her after such a situation, but he couldn't very well do that without having her collapse on the ground.

"My name's Theodosos. Some call me the Cursed," he told Aja with an ironic smile. It looked like the situation had calmed down. This was good. Despite his gloomy talk, he hoped Kalila's fate would be happier than his. He glanced out the window at the moon and nodded absentmindedly.

"It's getting late. Who would like to join me for a drink before we turn in?"

Dorian overlooked the wreckage in front of him. He and Jarrak had found their targets only to find that it was an ambush. Sure they had killed them all, but one guy threw a grenado near a pile of barrels filled with munitions. The although the explosions hit neither one of them, a rock hit Jarrack in the head, knocking the man unconscious.

"It is not your fault, you know this don't you?" A familiar voice said. Dorian looked to his side to see an amber haired woman with snow skin. His eyebrows furrowed. "What are you doing here? Come to plague me again?" He said with a sneer. The woman smirked. "I am just checking up on you, that's all. You liked me when you were younger, when you still had your complexion." She rested her hand on his shoulder and his skin returned along with his hair. "I need you to remember that you are still me champion and I am still on your side. Remember my words." With that she was gone along with the illusion of his past self that she had brought.

Dorian went to pick up Jarrak with an annoyed look on his face. Even halfway around the world and she was still following him, a constant reminder of his past. An hour later he arrived at the ship and dropped Jarrak off in his room. He would have to tend to the man later, but for the time it could wait. First he wanted to get drunk...very drunk.

He walked into one of the many bars and turned to the bartender immediately. "A Fuarian Blitz." He said as he then watched the bartender pour the vodka, mead, cocaine, and gunpowder into the glass. A drink that had both an offensive yet ironic history and a toxic high. I was a drink that was popular during reconstruction, but otherwise avoided. He took a few swigs of the black liquid before turning his head to see his pupil with a large group of people. He didn't even knew that she drank.

"So what do we have here. My pupil, captain, and an acquaintance all in the same room." Dorian said as he took up a seat near them. He stared at the woman for a bit. She looked odd, friendly too, even with Mako in the same room. Which meant she was either a skilled fighter, unlikely, a magi, possible, or not completely human herself. The bandaged man set his iron bullets on the table to begin loading his pistols. After finishing with that he took out his kukri which was also iron and began to sharpen that, directing the shavings in her direction. That iron would tell him if she was human or not. He was a superstitious man and protective over his students so he had to make sure. He glanced at Kalila to speak to hear telepathically. "Have you ever heard of the land of Anansai?" He asked her.

Kalila was listening idly as Aja spoke, saying she would in fact be joining them if they would have her, but Mako was to come along; when her master entered the bar. She stood completely straight at the sight of him. Jarrak, wasn't with him, which worried her but she was still very happy to see him. She watched him order a toxic looking drink that made her chest ache. Kalila was far form a drinker and that would most likely seen her into a fit. "So what do we have here. My pupil, captain, and an acquaintance all in the same room." Kalila smiled all the same but it faded as he eyed Aja. Aja watched him carefully as well. He then pulled a weapon as if merely polishing it and then began sharpening his blade. Aja coughed, she seemed to try to hide it at first but it seemed to become too much as she shot from her seat and pushed away from the table, coughing horribly. Kalila watched her, worried, only to be distracted by Master Dorian's words in her mind.
"Have you ever heard of the land of Anansai?"

"Aye, My mother is friends with the Fae Queen, she used to sing me songs from Anansai. Why, Master; and where is Jarrak, why's he not with you?" She asked him all at once, worried for the Fae woman.

Alexandrine listened on, not being much of a talker or a people person, she was glad to when Theo offered drinks. " Let's go then." She said and rose from her seat and moving toward the bar, when the bandaged man arrived, and seemed to be purposely flicking iron shavings at the fae. Alexandrine rolled her eyes.
He could have just asked....

(sorry so short)

Damien & Sebastian

Damien looked down and away. His ship was big sure, but having a giant house sized man, a wizard thingy guy, a fae, a godling, a cursed, a haunted, and his brother as well as himself was getting a little packed. When Dorian started to send shavings at Aja, Damien interrupted but not fast enough. Then there was that look that told Damien Dorian was talking to Kalila and it nearly drove him insane all over again.

Damien grumbled something under his breath along the lines of frustrating and mind reading though he didn't think it was loud enough for anyone but Alexandrine and Theo. "So, don't know if you heard, but my crew is heading out tomorrow morning to, work. If any of you don't want to join us you don't have to but you can't stop us because that is after all how we make our living. Theo, Alexandrine, you remember the rules of raiding don't you? Did I explain those?" Damien asked, not aware of it or not.

Damien looked at his food, he took a small bite, hungry but not wanting to show it. He was thinking about sleeping arrangements when he heard the front door open. Sebastian entered, his hair still wet. "Great, Sebastian, you figure out sleeping arrangements. These two will be staying with us, I'm going to get some fresh air, with this food,"Damien says as he grabs his food and goes outside into the nearby alley to eat. He chewed slowly, trying to savor the food. He was always hungry but he absolutely hated giant crowds that were all really really close and he didn't know them. He could handle the busy crowds in the streets, but when everyone was directing their attention on him or those he was with, he had to leave. Sebastian was in there so Kalila would be alright. He hoped. He felt bad for leaving her but he absolutely needed to get out before he couldn't quite handle it anymore and stormed out.

Theo grinned at Alexandrine. To tell the truth, he found himself enjoying her company. He appreciated the fact that she did not prod him with too many questions, but was willing to give him the pleasure of her company. He walked with her to the bar and ordered a mug of spiced rum before he heard Damien speak up.

"So, don't know if you heard, but my crew is heading out tomorrow morning to, work. If any of you don't want to join us you don't have to but you can't stop us because that is after all how we make our living. Theo, Alexandrine, you remember the rules of raiding don't you? Did I explain those?"

Theo shrugged, "I've been on enough pirate vessels to know the basic rules. The loot isn't divided up until after the raiding. Captains have their own rules on sparing people and taking slaves or hostages. I'm sure you will inform us of those in due time. And the Captain is to be obeyed without question during the battle. Did I cover it all?"

Alexandrine merely arched an eyebrow at the Captian's question and deemed it too stupid to be answered and classified it rhetorical. Alexandrine was a solider, following orders and remembering them was not a problem. The question was almost insulting.

Theo then spoke to the Captian's question and Alexandrine just listened. "I've been on enough pirate vessels to know the basic rules. The loot isn't divided up until after the raiding. Captains have their own rules on sparing people and taking slaves or hostages. I'm sure you will inform us of those in due time. And the Captain is to be obeyed without question during the battle. Did I cover it all?"

He said and Alexandrine took a sip of her grog. Her mind wandered back to the Fae woman; Aja. Who seemed to be trying not to choke on the shavings. She wondered why she looked at her the way she did as she entered the room. Alexandrine was keenly aware of her curse at the moment, and it almost seemed as if Aja knew, or at least felt it too. She wanted to ask her about it but her attention seemed to be solely on the girl, which was good.

This raid could be problematic. She couldn't get angry, not even slightly, or the entire crew would be in danger.

"We know what to do, just don't get in my way." She said calmly, ringing her cup with a finger.

Aja was beginning to feel sick as the bandanged man continue sharpening his blade, the iron flakes were invading her lungs, burning them from the inside, like inhaling smoke.

"Please, do you have to sharpen your blade at the table, M'on emie?" She asked, her voice not as smooth as usual.

This all seemed intentional. " If you wanted to know if I am Fae or not, all you had to do was ask." She said, with a horse cough.
Kalila looked from her to the bandaged man and she grabbed his hand forcefully, her brow furrowed as if to say. "Stop"

Dorian stopped sharpening his blade and put it away. It was bothering her that he was being so cruel during introductions. First impressions stick after all and his would certainly stick. "No. I want know what you are. Telling me that you're just a fae would be as useless as me asking a pirate who they are with an answer like 'human'. Everybody on this island is either a criminal, exile, fugitive, or a murderer, or all of those. I want to know if you're one of those unseelied that I've heard about. There's still some out there, I know, I've killed some." He told her with stern eyes.

He didn't like fae outside of Anansai. It screamed of dangerous suspicion. Perhaps it was just tribal superstition or religious banter on the subject that made him feel such paranoia, but on an island like that of Nassau, paranoia was a nice thing to have.
