He heard a voice behind him, and instantly remembered. Of course, she asked why he refused to seek her, so he shrugged and said simply, "Ah, well, my memory was a bit jumbled, is all, so I tried to recollect some things. My latest adventure took longer than expected. Anyway, I wondered if you knew anything about where I could fine the Shield of Davar, prophetic prime elder of Larshrael. Larshrael was an ancient nation where a council of elders ruled and where my god, Wisdmijuus, god of Justice, Wisdom and Protection, laid down the basic scriptures regarding himself and his teachings for mortals to read. The shield is written to have contained the ability to keep entire armies from dying. Davar used it to keep Larshrael's many enemies from overwhelming his people. In the end, because of Larshrael's eventual corruption from within, the country was conquered, the shield lost to time. The last person to have had knowledge of the shield's whereabouts as far as anyone is aware of was a descendent of Davar named Jeremiaem, the last prophet to have spoken out against his own government and people's corruption before Larshrael was defeated in war and annexed by one of its enemies. It is said he took it with him and hid it somewhere so it could not fall into the wrong hands, enforcing the unknown location with elaborate traps designed to keep intruders out. An army or crew that manages to grab a hold of the shield and harness its powers would be all but invincible, and that I cannot allow. I have searched for it ever since my quest to find artifacts began by heavenly mandate. So far, the clues found only led to a dead end, which can only mean Jeremiaem was highly skilled at covering his tracks during his life, coming up with false indications as to the shield's whereabouts. This adventure I have been waiting to complete for hundreds of years would be my ultimate test in this world. Everyone else whom has looked for it died before they could come close. There has to be a reason, besides how well hidden the shield obviously is."

Fae were a beautiful race, he admitted, yet he wondered if a fae would be right for him. Sure, they were incapable of lying, and they were immortal, yet there were some things he would have to think about before deciding. For now, he would just focus on his heavenly duty.

((notice the Judaic references. Sorry, I couldn't resist! Do you stuff, Kai!))

Adir just came back from a raid on a pirate ship which harbored demons on board their ship. All opponent onboard were killed, including his intended targets. Everytime Adir walked the streets of Nassau, people would whisper softly about rumors concerning him and wonder if he truly was an angel due to his alleged prowess. Only Adir and his brother, Benyamin, knew that answer, and it was yes. On his way to the library, he purchased some tea to clear his head and benefit from the herbs used to brew it. The tea he drank while walking down the streets. At the library, he read a book involving one of his most hated enemies, Cassius the Incubus. Ever since the angel's quest to slay all demons he could find, it was Cassius whom evaded him the most. Everytime Adir would come close to victory against him, Cassius had some trick up his sleeve to escape. This was no ordinary incubus, either: he was infamous in the supernatural world for defeating many demon slayers, most of them being angels. This simple fact made Adir want to kill him even more. Upon completing the book, he found only one clue as to where Cassius goes off to, it was a place where tea leaves were common currency. Adir realized the supplier of much of the tea in Nassua was one of the more infamous ladies in town, Lady Harlington.

Adir counted up how much coin he gained from his adventures, seeing he had more than enough for her prices. He sprinted the whole way to the gate of her estate, then waited for her carriage to arrive. He also thought of what to say.

(Huh?)
Aja's watched as Benyamin went on and on about his current relic.
Aja laughed. "I've known pixies d'at take more breathes d'en you, Ben." She said, with a tilt of her head. "I couldn't possibly know where d'e Shield is. It wouldn't be a divine mission, if I did.." She said with a shrug. She sat back, rocking foot in the chair "'owever, If you wish d'e proper path, d'en, d'at is somed'ing I can 'elp you wit'." She said simply, with a shrug as she looked at him.

"Relics are not my area of expertise 'owever, People, Places...D'ose are." She said and leaned forward.

"People who do not wish to be found....tend to make sure d'at d'ier names are lost in 'istory. D'ey fade into oblivion leaving only rumors and legends. Like d'e one, Crimson Lady. No one knows what 'appen to 'er, but she be alive and well but you wouldn't know d'at, would you?" She asked rhetorically. "Yes, you would. D'ere are clues, people never just fade away, where d'ere is legend, d'ere is truth." She said with a wink.

"Per'aps you should take cues from 'er. D'e descendant may 'ave left 'im true name to oblivion, but 'im legend, 'im mark...d'at still exists. Find him mark, a small clue d'at proves his existence, and follow it." She said and smiled a cat like grin and leaned back again with a turn of her head, and a passive wave of her hand. "D'at is all I can provide." she said and rested her head on her hand.

Damien

He woke up and Kalila walked over to him, as he found himself back where he started. "Is it over?" Damien asks as he breaths rapidly, his flashback still fresh in his mind. How did this girl do this?

"No." She said walking over to him. She took his hands, and pulled him up, and in the process, making a copy of his conscious. Damien watched what looked to be himself sitting on the ground in front of him. It looked so much like Sebastian he couldn't look for a moment until he remembered who and what was going on.

"I had to let the memory play out, now, we can move through it and you will not feel the pain, but we much watch it again." She said and looked ahead, her eyes far off as the memory started to play again, this time Damien was watching it just as she did, her hand holding his. He couldn't look when they began, but remembered each thing that he felt and sympathized for the person who was yet wasn't him before him. It freaked him out to have someone so similar to Sebastian sitting there.

Damien was all to aware of the girl being close to him, her hand holding his as he watched the scene. He didn't feel anything towards her at that moment though while he watched the men. He wanted to know who they were and why they wanted to torture someone who couldn't have done anything to them.

Without looking at him, Kalila spoke. "You saw their faces. Even if it was only brief and you were barely conscious but you saw them, your mind logged the memory, and now you can revisit it." She said as the whole ordeal began again. She squeezed his hand and Damien looked down at their joined hands before looking back up at her and looking away, not sure why he didn't know how to act around her. She was a girl, he had kissed plenty, yet she was making him act weird.

Damien just nodded as he watched, his chest hurting as he it thought Sebastian was before him. He watched and when the men removed their masks, Damien watched himself struggle to look at them, then looked at the men himself. He didn't know them, didn't recognize them. It was weird to him and he didn't understand what was going on. "I've never seen these men before in my life," Damien says as he watches them, then looks to Kalila in wonder.

"Thank you, I'm sorry you had to see this. I won't ask you to have anything else to do with me or my brother, but know we are I indebted to you. You can stay with us if you wish, and we promise to help you with whatever you need," Damien offers with a weak smile as he looks back at his battered and bruised form and remembered that night better than ever.

Kalila was expressionless as he watched, she wasn't really watching, having seen it all play out twice now.

"I've never seen these men before in my life."
He said and then looked over at her.

"Thank you. I'm sorry you had to see this. I won't ask you to have anything else to do with me or my brother, but know we are indebted to you. You can stay with us if you wish, and we promiae to help you with whatever you need,"

Kalila nodded and looked up as the dream world faded away and they were back on the ship.

They were in their original positions, sitting on his bed, her hands on either side of his head, only both of their eyes were closed.
She looked up at him, her grey eyes peering into his as her hands fell from him, and against she was mute.

She nodded and stood up, moving to the closed door.

"Help Her, Find Him."

Her lips tugged into a thin barely acknowledgable smile.

The voices were quieter, now

She succeeded.

Damien

Damien looked after Kalila, unsure what to do now as he looked down at his hands and sighed. He was tired, really tired, and didn't really want to see anyone either. He really wouldn't talk to anyone except Kalila probably considering she was the only one that seemed to know what had happened.

He was surprised that they had ended up there, same positions. Damien watched her go, his heart sinking as if fearful of something. He didn't know why, but he didn't think she should leave, or that her guardian should leave. He watched her and thought for a moment, remembering something he had heard, and suddenly realized where he recognized her.

"Kali- Wait a second... You're Kalila Misantri... You're the princess of Jeddah aren't you? You're probably in a great deal of danger princess. Nearly everyone in the pirating world knows you left home and they are all looking for you. You better be careful, and maybe get some new clothes. You look a lot like your parents you know?" Damien asks, now depressed at his findings.

She was a freaking princess. A princess! He just realized what he'd done now. He'd cursed, been a jerk, and had gotten much too close. If he had been in her kingdom, he'd probably be dead, or at least running for his life. He felt so stupid.

He stood up, grabbing his shirt as he did and slipping it over his head as he walked towards the door, opening it before he could to find an empty hall. "Do you ever speak? I mean other than in memories and minds?" Damien asks, wondering momentarily if she sounded the same out loud here. He looked down at her, curious and thoughtful. He would need to get these thoughts of her out of his head lest he get distracted and do something stupid. Well, stupider than usual that is.

Once she gave a response, Damien looked down at her and held up a hand. "Why do you help people like me?" Damien asks softly, curious as to why people seem to think he and his brother have more of a soul than other pirates though he wasn't quite sure.

As he looked down at her, Damien wondered if he could perhaps see something deeper in her soul like she seemed to be able to see in his own. Maybe her eyes had something to do with why Damien was distracted by her, or why she was able to see people's past in a way.

Kalila had reached for the door just as Damien spoke.

"Kali-Wait a second, You're Kalila Misantri...You're the princess of Jeddah. You're probably in a great deal of danger, Princess. Nearly everyone in the pirating world knows you left home and they are looking for you. You better be careful, and they are all looking for you. You better be careful, and maybe get some new clothes. You look a lot like your parents, you know?"

Kalila turned and nodded once.

She knew pirates would try. She expected that but at the same time...She was more dangerous then most of the pirates.

She didn't bother to move or turn as he pulled on his shirt and walked over to open the door. "Do you ever speak? I mean other than in memories and minds?"

Kalila shrugged. Not really, only to her mother, father and Jarrak and even then it wasn't more than a few words. A sentence if it's important.

"Why do you help people like me?"

He asked gently.

Kalila tapped her the side of her head in response. She noticed his gaze and met it. His eyes seeming to be searching for an answer to many question the grey of her eyes alone.

He wouldn't find them, not now anyway.

She walked toward the upper deck, with Damien in toe, and made her way over to Jarrak and Sebastian.

She sat on the floor in front of Jarrak's feet and lay on the wood. It was dirty and grimy but Kalila didn't care, she never did...and probably couldn't.

She was tired. Her mind so tired it was throbbing some.

She needed to sleep but she couldn't not without Jarrak.

Dorian understood that Maco had been away from the sea for along time, but he found the gift to be a bit on the odd side. Not so much the part of the blood, just how he did so. In all honesty he probably would have preferred to cut his hand and give blood that way. After all he could always heal the cut afterwards. Not wanting to be rude he didn't say anything against it.

"So how about a drink? I could really go for some rum right now and I know of a good tavern that we could go to. I'd like to get a drink before we go back to kill Barnabus...that is if the crowd hasn't torn him apart for my offer." He said. There was a great many things he needed to know. Firstly was whether or not Hu was in the city and taverns were usually the place to hear rumors from.

Damien

Kalila tapped her the side of her head in response. She noticed his gaze and met it. Why did she have to be so cryptic? It almost hurt the way she seemed to not be wanting to speak to him.

She walked toward the upper deck, and Damien followed. He walked towards Sebastian and Jarrak. Sebastian seemed to be ignoring Jarrak all together. Damien smiled slightly at this as he walked to lean over the railing, looking out at the sea, Sebastian watched him curiously, wondering if Damien would tell him what had happened.

Kalila sat on the floor in front of Jarrak's feet and lay on the wood. It was dirty and grimy but Kalila didn't care, she never did...and probably couldn't. Sebastian looked down confused and when he looked at Damien, Damien just shrugged. Not sure what he knew about this girl was good or not.

"Hey, go get some rest. Take our cabin," Damien offers, his voice void of emotion. He knew what he was doing that night. It had something to do with money and alcohol in one of the nearby taverns.

"Wait, I want my bed," Sebastian says. Damien shrugs and Sebsatian only then notices his brother's depressed appearance."What happened?" Sebastian asks softly, putting a hand on his brother's shoulder. Damien just shakes his head, not wanting to talk. "Later," He whispers and Sebastian just nods, understanding.

"Take our cabin. I'm heading into town to look for something to polish my knives," Damien says as he grabs his coat from Kato before leaving the ship, storming off really.

Sebastian just shakes his head after his brother. "Really, you need the cabin after encountering Harlington. A word of advice, a lot of people who cross her die, so avoid her if you can. It'll keep your neck from being slit," Sebastian says as he offers a hand to help Kalila up. "And thanks for helping my brother," Sebastian says though he wasn't sure why he was thanking her now.

Damien walked quickly, his head down in the afternoon sun. He didn't want to be around people he knew. He just wanted to be alone and thinking and possibly fighting and possibly gambling. He headed for one of his favorite brawling places in all of Nassau. He walked in and took a seat in the corner, having a drink right away as he looked at the ring of fighters below in the dirt. One was obviously better than another, but Damien knew he could take them.

Damien finished his drink right away, then stood, taking off his boot as he walked down to the ring. "I challenge," He says as the fight finishes. He drops his boot by the outer ring and steps in. He wanted to fight, to clear his mind and this was certainly a way to do it.

Neviah

Neviah slipped through the crowd of people, trying to avoid their touch as they watched her. She looked too young to be there, she felt too young to be there, but she sure as hell wasn't getting out of there until she got what she wanted and she wanted to find a map home.

Neviah therefore had to find a better way to find a good shop. She didn't like the looks she was getting and she really didn't like the bad feeling she was having. She looked around for a place to go. She was tired and though she would love to just go below water, she didn't know what was in the sea nearby. She slipped into an alley, her loose blue dress following her slim frame as she sat down and wrapped her arms around herself.

She had no money, didn't know anyone, and didn't know how to do anything. She watched the crowd, trying to keep her eyes open as much as she could though she felt herself dozing off in her exhaustion.

A deep chuckle rolled from between Mako’s teeth as he sensed the awkwardness the man felt. His custom probably had bothered him, but he didn’t seem to care. He was a human. What did they know? They were always peculiar about things that never bothered the fish people.

So how about a drink?

Mako arched a brow at the man’s suggestion. What were they friends now? He thought that he was going to bestow that gift on him and go on his merry way. The fish man was slow to respond. He didn’t have many friends and if they had wanted to exchange emotions, now he was the one feeling odd.

before we-

“ME!” the shark roared. “I will kill him. He is mine! Ye saved me, thank ye, good fuckin’ job, but the meatbag that enslaved me is me vengeance not yers. We aren’t friends, ‘uman. I don’t give a shit ‘bout yer rum wantin’. Go ‘ave yer drink. I got t’settle me business and I don’t need ye to do it.”

The Mercos stood and glared down at the man, baring his teeth as he did so. “Befo’ I was a fish trapped ina’ bowl, I was a monster. I served under Captain Jorn Gatling, and I destroyed ships at ‘is every whim. I turned the sea around ‘is ship into a death trap. Anyone and anythin’ that entered me feeding circle was dead! If I couldn’t take their ship, I’d board it and bring it in for me captain and his crew of cutthroats to infiltrate. Besides ‘umans, I’ve faced monsters in the deep, creatures none of ye ignorant apes know ‘bout because they mean to take ye by surprise!”

“So do ye think I need ye? I don’t. Yer deed is done, mate.”

The shark turned from the wrapped man and started for the city. His mind was already plotting with how he was going to find Barnabus, but first was first, he had to clothe himself.

Lady Harlington continued down the street away from the odd pair of children and the irksome twin Sebastian. She wasn't worried about losing the odd two, they would turn up again she was sure, and nothing happened on Nassau without her hearing about it.
"Nassara dear, do we have the Correct documents for Miss Vara?" Elizabeth said, knowing full well they did, but carriage rides with a mute could be ever so dull.
Nassara nodded silently, her delicate hands producing a small leather binder from the folds of her robes and passing them to Lady Harlington. Elizabeth opened the binder and examined the contents inside, a few sheets of paper and a small quill.
"I trust you remembered the ink-" Elizabeth began before Nassara again procured a small tincture from the depths of her robe.
"Oh you such a good girl my dear," Elizabeth said, taking the tincture off Nassara and placing it in her purse, "What would I do without you?"
"We are almost at the Inn Ma'am." Marcus said through a small grate near where he sat at the head of the carriage.
"Thank you Marcus, wait with the carriage I am sure Nassara can escort me inside." She said, raising a small mirror and inspecting herself in it, despite the fact she wore no make up.
"As you wish Lady Harlington." He replied as the carriage came to a gentle stop.
Nassara opened the door and Lady Harlington stepped out on to the street, where she was given a wide birth. She wasn't exactly hard to miss, and she wasn't exactly to be trifled with. Before her stood the proud establishment of the Crying Angel, a place often used a a meeting point for when she was loath to receive guests at her estate. She walked inside and the building and the murmur of conversation all but died at her entrance. She loved that.
She spied Miss Redwater sitting at a table near the back and cried out to her, loudly, and with great amounts of melodrama.
"MARA! Oh Mara darling! How have you been?! You have been gone far too long truly!" She exclaimed as she hurried over in a most ladylike fashion to Maras table. "Barman," she said as she passed the bar, "A round of Drinks for Miss Vara at once!"
"Y-yes ma'am!" the man stammered as he hurried to ready the drinks. Elizabeth would not stay long, and would remember if the drinks were not there by the time she left.
Elizabeth sat down at the table, Nassara standing beside her to the left, "So my dear," Elizabeth said with glee, "What lovely little wonders have you brought me this time?"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jarrak followed Kalila onto the ship and wandered down below to where the other twin was waiting. He didn't like leaving her alone but he was to follow her orders, so when she nodded for him to leave her alone and follow Sebastian. He was less than pleased to begin with.
"He's not going to hurt her, he just needs to talk to her in private. I dislike you greatly. Did you know that?" Sebastian said as he indicated for them both to go above and wait for the pair to be done, gods did the boy ever stop talking.
"The feeling is mutual. And I trust you two about as much as wolf trusts a trap." Jarrak said walking away and towards the stairs that lead to the upper deck, "Now as soon as Kalila can complete her business with your fellow spawn and then we can be on our way and off this vile rock."
It seemed like an eternity till Kalila appeared with the other twin, and Jarrak was glad for it, glad to see her well, but wasn't half annoyed at her for landing them here in the first place. She sat at his feet and proceeded to lay down, he sighed and wondered what he should do. Finding an inn or something was the most sensible course of action, but Kalila wouldn't be able to walk and Jarrak wasn't really keen to carry an unconscious girl through a city of thieves. He was loath to ask the twin for anything, he didn't want to give them the satisfaction, He had no idea how he could get Kalila to Lady Harlingtons estate on foot, and was unsure the twins would guide them.
"Hey, go get some rest. Take our cabin," Damien offered suddenly, pulling Jarrak from his thoughts.
"Wait, I want my bed," Sebastian interjected, before actually looking at how dark his brothers expression was, "What happened?"
"Later," Damien whispered shaking his head, before grabbing a coat and walking for the gangplank, "Take our cabin. I'm heading into town to look for something to polish my knives."
Sebastian shook his head after his brother, "Really, you need the cabin after encountering Harlington. A word of advice, a lot of people who cross her die, so avoid her if you can. It'll keep your neck from being slit," Sebastian said and offered a hand to Kalila, "And thanks for helping my brother."
Jarrek moved into Sebastian way, "Dont touch her. Don't ever touch her, unless she says you can." He he growled before he turned and picked up the now prone and unresponsive Kalila, "I will carry her, and I appreciate your brothers hospitality." He turned and glared at Sebastian, "And so far I have found nothing to make me doubt Lady Harlington and much to make me doubt you, so do not presume to tell me who to trust. Pirate." He finished emphasising the finishing title. He wasn't scared of Sebastian, or his brother or their crew. He held a Goddess in his arms, he worried not for their safety.

Mara smiled warmly at Lady Harlington as she approached, dramatically announcing herself as usual. "So my dear, what lovely little wonders have you brought me this time?"

Mara nodded to Kane, who withdrew several pictures of the things the Magician's Crown had pillaged. She had the actual articles with her, as usual, but she wouldn't bring them out unless the Lady wanted to investigate them. "As you can see," Mara nodded to the drawings that Kane had made himself. He was a wonderful artist and always detailed his sketches to the fullest. "We have 'found' several gold chalices, quite a few jewels, including this gem."

She pointed to a gem that looked like it was made of emerald, but it was pure black. "At first, I thought it was dirty, but no matter how much I tried to wipe the black off, it remained in place. I can only assume that is the color of the actual gemstone," she didn't bother to tell the woman about it's partner, which she intended to keep for herself. She pointed to another one of the sketches, leaning towards the woman so no one would hear, We also found two dragon eggs of the coast of an uninhabited island to the west of here, along with what appears to be dragon pelts."

Mara continued to show her pictures of the objects she and her crew had collected; things made of gold encrusted with jewels and wines and sugars that can only be found in a few places. She even showed the woman a skull, which was much larger than something she could carry in her bag. It was as if the skull was made of emerald. Despite being larger than an actual skull, it was made like one.

When she finished, she leaned back as another glass of wine was set on her table. She took a small sip of the blood red wine, the pictures spread out along the entirety of the table, "Do you see anything that catches your interest, Lady Harlington?"

Sebastian

"The feeling is mutual. And I trust you two about as much as wolf trusts a trap," Jarrak said walking away and towards the stairs that lead to the upper deck, "Now as soon as Kalila can complete her business with your fellow spawn and then we can be on our way and off this vile rock." Sebastian stared after Jarrak, he just realized how much one could hate another person that they couldn't fight with. It made him sad he couldn't fight him. That'd take care of a problem.

The girl sat at Jarrak's feet and proceeded to lay down, he sighed. Sebastian smiled down at the girl, waiting to be asked for something by Jarrak though he was spared from this by Damien.

"Hey, go get some rest. Take our cabin," Damien offered suddenly.

Don't ever touch her, unless she says you can." He growled before he turned and picked up the now prone and unresponsive Kalila, "I will carry her, and I appreciate your brothers hospitality." Sebastian looked at Jarrak, really mad now. "I wasn't going to hurt her or do anything to her you idiot. You're more likely to hurt her than I am," Sebastian says as he goes to the rope ladder leading to the crows nest and begins to climb, not wanting to be near him. Jarrak turned and glared at Sebastian, "And so far I have found nothing to make me doubt Lady Harlington and much to make me doubt you, so do not presume to tell me who to trust. Pirate." He finished emphasising the finishing title.

Sebastian looked down at the man now, higher than he was. "Fine to see her, don't take our cabin. If you are so much more trusting of a female pirate than two boys, go ahead. I'm not making you stay here. Besides, I'll help the girl anytime she needs it but you can trust me when I tell you I'd rather dumb you overboard," Sebastian says without much sympathy, "And remember, you're surrounded by us, and they all listen to me. You better be more hospitable than you've been."

Sebastian, furious, climbs the rest of the way and sits back. Sebastian wouldn't be back for a few hours and even then, probably wouldn't be approachable for a few hours after that. Sebastian was hating this guy and was going to do something about it unless he changed his attitude some time soon.

Sebastian took a seat, watching as his men began to make dinner and clean the ship. He was going to have to go down to eat eventually, but he knew they didn't have enough down there for everyone plus their guests. When Kato held up a bowl, Sebastian shook his head and pointed to the cabin as he lounged back.

Kato, surprised, nodded and took it to the boys' cabin, passing it to Jarrak. "All we got unless you're going to go to town for something," Kato says before leaving. Kato gave Sebastian a thumbs up to indicate he had delivered the twins' meals for the two guests. Damien probably wouldn't eat and Sebastian didn't want to starve them. They were probably tired and deserved something to eat, the girl did at least, he wasn't so certain of Jarrak.

Sebastian watched the sun as it sank in the sky, keeping an eye out for Damien while watching Lady Harlington's house in the distance. He needed to go see her, needed to make sure that she didn't hate him entirely. She was a good source to sell precious metals, and few people payed as much as she did.

Within the boys' room, there was a bucket with a couple of scrolls rolled up in there. Within the scrolls were maps, trade routes, and a few letters. There was a box of me defines by Sebastian's bed as well as some educational books while by Damien's bed there was a book filled with drawings of the boys' childhood on the streets and the other children as well as random pictures Damien had liked. Should the book be opened, a list of the boys' inventory was hidden, enough to make any pirate jealous. The hiding places were listed as well and who it as taken from. A couple of the items belonged to lady Harlington's but had been stolen when they were at sea, coasting the woman money.

Theo had watched Alexandrine and the strange angelic-looking captain with bemusement. After a few minutes, she had returned to their table and, finding she was halfway out the door, ran over to her with another offer of free drink and sat them both down at their previous table.

"Pirates... You just can't pen them down. And I've been a pirate myself for years," He told her with a slight grin. He finished his drink and smiled wistfully, "Black Bart was something else. He wasn't a good man. He raided and murdered without care in the world. In fact, he often did it with a smile on his face. But he had a way with inspiring his men. He did not deserve to die as he did: thirteen stab wounds and a bullet in his stomach."

"I've been thinking of joining another crew. What big names are in Nassau at the moment? Do you have any opinions? We can join together."

(Sorry for the short post. There isn't much for my character to do at the moment. Me and Mal are thinking of having Theo and Alex join a crew together.)

Tahlia watched the strange woman for a while, but all she did was sip her drink and exchange meagre words with her first mate. Tahlia sighed, picking up her own drink and raising it to her lips, she contemplated letting the odd feeling go, and tuning properly back into the rest of the room. The door swung open and a hush fell over the room. Lifting her eyes she identified the woman in the doorway and took rather a too-big mouthful of her drink. Eyes watering some as she tried desperately not to cough and draw attention to herself, her mind was racing and her senses on high alert. Lady Elizabeth Harlington. What on earth was she doing here? Tahlia had spent her entire life in Nassau trying to avoid the woman, mostly because the masks just creeped her out, but also because she didn't like being watched, and Lady Harlington watched everybody.

Suddenly the Lady cried out, in such a loud voice a few people near her noticeably jumped, making Tahlia smile. "MARA! Oh Mara darling! How have you been?! You have been gone far too long, truly!" She began to make her way into the bar, with her veiled bodyguard hovering behind her, pausing briefly near a very shocked and worried looking Abraham.

"Barman, a round of drinks for Miss Vana at once!" She said gleefully, with all the generosity in her voice like she'd shouted the whole bar. If only.
"Y-yes ma'am" poor Abe replied, scuttling away from her blank gaze.

The Lady sat at Miss Vana's table. Mara Vana... that name sounded familiar. Head down as far as possible, so none of her hair could be seen by Lady Elizabeth, she listened intently to the conversation.

"So my dear," Elizabeth said with glee, "What lovely little wonders have you brought me this time?"

"As you can see," Mara began coolly, "We have 'found' several gold chalices, quite a few jewels, including this gem."

She pointed to a picture that Tahlia couldn't see. "At first, I thought it was dirty, but no matter how much I tried to wipe the black off, it remained in place. I can only assume that is the color of the actual gemstone," Tahlia could hear something missing from that story, and stifled a giggle. Mara pointed to another one of the sketches, leaning towards the Lady to try and stop the people around from listening. Good luck with that! "We also found two dragon eggs off the coast of an uninhabited island to the west of here, along with what appears to be dragon pelts."

Mara continued to show her pictures to the Lady, but the buzz of conversation had faded into the background. Dragons! Or dragon remenants... the most valuable ingredients in the whole world, and the rarest. Tahlia's mother used to sell potions of health and strength around the city, and she often spoke of the legend that dragon ingredients gave you all the qualities of a dragon, in strength, invulnerability and prowess. She could make a fortune!

"Do you see anything that catches your interest, Lady Harlington?"

"Yeah I can see something," Tahlia interrupted, head still down and talking without moving a muscle. "Where did you get the dragon produce?" She grinned.

"Yeah I can see something. Where did you get the dragon produce?" a new feminine voice said.

Normally, Mara would simply ignore the person. If she could find the island, so could anyone else (with a bit of luck), but she could feel a magical essence practically radiating off of this woman. She was obviously a Witch. Mara did not look away from Lady Harlington, "I do not believe my question was addressed to you, miss. If you must know, an island, unmarked, uncharted. You have to be fairly lucky to find it."

Now that she thought about it, there were several magical presences nearby, including one very familiar one. Mara felt her heart stop, but her face displayed no more emotion than it did the moment before. She smiled at Lady Harlington, "Hopefully we can negotiate without interruption?"

Still her thoughts remained trained on the woman and she made a gesture to Kane, who nodded. He took Mara's empty wineglass to refill it. Mara tapped her fingers against the table thoughtfully as she waited for Lady Harlington to come to a decision. Her eyes flickered over to a man discussing something with a woman; he was one of the presences. Kane set down a new glass of wine on Mara's table before walking over to the man and setting another mug of beer in front of him, "You's looking a crew, mate?"

Mara turned her attention away from Kane and the man and to Lady Harlington, "I apologize. Where were we?"

"There seem to be a lot of authentic magic-users appearing in Nassau lately," Theo commented. Just now, he had sensed yet another magic-user, a red-haired woman who had interrupted the magic-user he sensed earlier and what looked like a noblewoman in a mask and now the same magic-user who had been interrupted now interrupted his conversation. He smiled slightly at the irony.

"My friend here just told me that real magic is rare in her experience," he chuckled. He gestured for Alexandrine to follow him as he took the offered mug of beer and sat beside his new companion. He bowed slightly to the noblewoman. He had heard of her and the last thing he needed was another powerful woman wanting him to suffer.

"Milady. Forgive my interruption," he told her before nodding at the woman who addressed him. Judging by her magical prescence and what he heard of the different pirate captains over the years, this had to be Captain Mara "Red Water" Vana.

"My old one passed away through fire, water, and a vengeful goddess' wrath."

Tahlia bristled at Mara's complete disregard to her existence. "I do not believe my question was addressed to you, miss. If you must know, an island, unmarked, uncharted. You have to be fairly lucky to find it."

She watched Mara's first mate get up and move away to another table and discuss them briefly, before returning with two others which had the same intriguing feeling about them as Mara did. Tahlia was bored with this game. Standing she pushed her hood back, her flaming hair cascading over her face. Lady Elizabeth's eyes widened. Tahlia marched to the table through the now completely silent bar, grabbing a nearby chair on the way. She spun it on one leg before stopping it and sitting down with her arms and chin resting on the back of it.

"Forgive my intrusion but i've sat in this bar nearly every day since I was a child, and no one has entered that has captured my attention as much as you bunch. So intriguing..."

Before Elizabeth had a chance to reply to Maras inquiry, they were interrupted by a soft effeminate voice, something Elizabeth would have found lovely had it not interrupted her business. "Yeah I can see something. Where did you get the dragon produce?"
Mara replied before Elizabeth, giving her a chance to study the strange woman who dared interrupt her business deal, "I do not believe my question was addressed to you, miss. If you must know, an island, unmarked, uncharted. You have to be fairly lucky to find it." Mara said without turning, "Hopefully we can negotiate without interruption?"
Mara turned back to Elizabeth and smiled, that beautiful dangerous smile that made Mara just so interesting to Elizabeth, "I apologize. Where were we?"
The woman with the red hair sat down at their table unceremoniously, her locks cascading down over her shoulders like a waterfall of blood, "Forgive my intrusion but i've sat in this bar nearly every day since I was a child, and no one has entered that has captured my attention as much as you bunch. So intriguing..."
Elizabeth ignored her completely, "Discussing your marvelous find my dear." She said dancing her hands over Maras sketches and examining them closely. "Truly you bring me such wondrous treasures. Keep the gems and the chalices, the gems are not interesting enough to me and the chalice set is incomplete. I would like to have a closer look at the these two items, the skull and the larger crystal, and of course," She looked back up at Mara with gleeful eyes, "I simply must have those exotic eggs and hides. Perhaps I'll have them made into a dress for me."
"And I have buyers that would be very interested in dragons eggs." She thought to herself, handing back the sketches.
"Please bring the items around to my estate tomorrow, I assure you I am very interested. Your treasures are just as unique as always my dear." She produced the binder of papers and removed several, "Have the items catalogued in these as per usual, and do not miss a detail. I will know if you do, and I hate imperfections." She stood and nodded to Mara, "A pleasure as always dear, I look forward to your visit tomorrow." She turned and looked at the strange red headed woman who had interrupted their dealing, "Forgive me, but I do not know you, however, only the brave and the foolish interrupt my business." She paused as the tension in the room rose, Nassara motionless like a black shadow behind Lady Harlington, "I would be intrigued to find out which. My estate, three o'clock, don't be late." and with that she promptly turned and swept out of the bar, leaving a gaping hole where her presence used to be.

Sebastian exploded at Jarraks remarks, "Fine to see her, don't take our cabin. If you are so much more trusting of a female pirate than two boys, go ahead. I'm not making you stay here. Besides, I'll help the girl anytime she needs it but you can trust me when I tell you I'd rather dumb you overboard," Sebastian said vehemently "And remember, you're surrounded by us, and they all listen to me. You better be more hospitable than you've been."
Jarrak barked a laugh, "You know nothing boy. I serve a man a hundred times more terrifying than the whole of Nassau combined. I dont fear you, your brother, your crew or any other person on Nassau." He turned and walked away towards the twins cabin, "Except maybe Kalila." he said under his breath, before disappearing into the cabin, and laying her to sleep.

Lady Elizabeth ignored Tahlia completely, as did everyone else at the table. She rolled her eyes, more than used to the treatment. She appeared younger than she was, and much more naive and inexperienced, and therefore was usually underestimated by those who didn't know her name. As the transaction between the Lady and Mara continued, Tahlia watched and inspected the people at the table. All auras throbbed with power and confidence, as pirates usually did, but there was something about the two from the other table, and Miss Vana that was different. Intriguing, but something she could not put her finger on. A frown creased the top of her nose. She didn't like not knowing. Carefully tuning back into the conversation, she caught the end of the business deal.

"I simply must have those exotic eggs and hides." Lady Elizabeth said, childish glee in her voice. "Perhaps I'll have them made into a dress for me. Please bring the items around to my estate tomorrow, I assure you I am very interested. Your treasures are just as unique as always my dear." She produced the binder of papers and removed several, handing them to Mara with a familiarity "Have the items catalogued in these as per usual, and do not miss a detail. I will know if you do, and I hate imperfections." She stood and nodded to Mara, "A pleasure as always dear, I look forward to your visit tomorrow."

The Lady then turned to Tahlia. Elizabeth didn't know Tahlia, but she could see in the Lady's eyes she wanted to. "Forgive me, but I do not know you, however, only the brave and the foolish interrupt my business." She paused, and Tahlia noticed the tension in the others at the table, as well as the rest of the bar. Tahlia smiled and lounged over the chair, clearly not intimidated by Elizabeth or her dark bodyguard. "I would be intrigued to find out which. My estate, three o'clock, don't be late." and with that she promptly turned and left. Tahlia smiled and whispered "Oh... I won't be."

Standing she nodded to each at the table. "I may see you around... not likely you'll see me." At that she turned, spinning the chair back to its original position, and ascended the stairs to her abode. She washed her face and combed through her hair with her fingers, relaxing her mind so it could think clearly. Dragon products! So rare... and pricey, to the desperate. Flopping down on the bed she grinned to herself. She could make herself a bit of coin here! Tomorrow morning she must go out and search for the right buyer.

Alexandrine was looked back at Theo as he caught up to her, offering her another round before she left. She accepted it, it's been awhile since she's had any company, that didn't think she murdered her entire village and deserted her kingdom.

She took a seat with him as he went on about his former Captian. T'was a shame but that was the life of a pirate she gathered.

He then surprised her with his question. Wanting to crew up with her. He knew her no different from anyone else in this bar? And she was most certainly no pirate.

Misfortune, seemed to be there kinship, perhaps he could sense that.

As she mused over this, Theo attention was caught by a woman, not much younger then her, and a strange masked woman and a few others, one woman with red hair. Alexandrine frowned, watching them. The masked woman was boisterous to say the least, making a grand show of things and suddenly there was tension in the room, between her and the red head before she walked out in a huff. Alexandrine just watched, her arms folded, her face shadowed by her hood, hidden like a shade.

It was then a male, walked up to them, inquiring if they'd been looking for a crew. Though, he seemed not to notice her

She just watched the ongoings, still musing over the idea....if she could become a pirate, she could sail much easily, and maybe, just maybe, she'll be able to find some clue about Bluebeard.

"Yes, We are." Alexandrine answered deftly.

"Do you dz'ink you can assist?"

Kalila's eyes opened slowly, drifting up to Jarrak as he sat beside her bed, or the one offered to her by the twins. She sat up slowly, and looked down at her fingers sadly.

"You're afraid of me..." She said, her voice light and soft, barely audible.

She hated being the way she was sometimes. She hated who she was. Jarrak was tasked to be here, surely he hated it.

She wondered if he was only her friend in words, was she just some ward of his, that he was tasked to protect. Did he see her as anything but the Princess? The Goddess?
Was he really her friend? Was he trapped, forced to follow her just as she is forced to listen and obey the voices in her head...She knew what it was like to have no control...was it like that for him? Was he really afriad of her father...more of afraid of him then he was of her?

All the questions brought tears to her eyes.

Dorian chuckled at Mako's words. The shark probably didn't know that there were dangerous things on land as well. Although there weren't very many creatures the size of Leviathans on land, they more than made up for their lack in size with sheer power. He himself had seen his fair share of fae and undead to know this. Then again when he was Mako's age, he also thought himself more powerful then all else until he was afflicted. He watched the ex-slave walk away before making his own way into town.

The streets were still busy and the bandaged man stopped at a local silk vendor. He unwrapped his thumb to feel the cloth only to find that it was in fact real silk. He bought some silk bandages and some new shoes since his were getting old. He asked the woman selling the silk if she had any Anansi silk, to which she told him of a vendor that did. Dorian thanked the woman and decided to cut across an alley way to get there.

On his way through the alley he spotted something unusual. There was a young girl in a blue dress just sleeping on the ground. The only young people he saw in Nassau were either inexperienced pirates or slaves. However he didn't see any weapons on her person or any owner around. He stood over her and nudged her shoulder with his foot to see if she would wake up.

Neviah

Vi was woken from her sleep by being pushed slightly, or maybe she was just nudged, or even rolled over, but whatever it was, she woke up.

She woke with a start, facing a man wrapped fully in bandages. She didn't know what to do and found that her voice didn't work. She pushed herself as far as she could against the wall, trying to get away.

"Why are you bandaged?" Was the first thing out of her mouth as she didn't know what else to say. She as surprised that this was the first thing out of her mouth after a million other things had run through her head.

She looked to the opening of the alley, curious as to whether someone might come to her aid though people seemed inclined not to look in their direction for whatever reason. Vi watched the man carefully, he had weapons at his waist though she didn't see him inclined to use them as he stood over her.

She didn't feel comfortable around this man however, nor did she want to talk to him, nor anyone else here. The language was weird and she didn't like the way it rolled off her tongue and allowed air in when she could be talking below water more comfortably.

Neviah did wish that she was away, at home, or even just under water where she could be comfortable, but she had no idea where to go to get home, or even close to home. She was just happy that she had managed to avoid salt water since she had arrived here.

She knew what happened to others like her when they knew who, rather what she is. She would get sold, possibly as multiple things or even just a pet, or possibly, which was better, a gem meant for display. She hated it after having seen more than one of her friends or family members taken and killed, caught, or tortured. Some pirates even nailed mermaids to the bow of their ship in hopes of luck or even just to keep predators away, some predators believing that mermaids were just such a peaceful creature that those that interact with them must be peaceful too, even if their hands and fins are nailed into the boat.

"Any what do you want?" Vi snaps as she looks up at the man, no more so annoyed than anything else for whatever reason.

The girl was obviously distressed and, as far as Dorian could tell, rude as well. A rude person without weapons who slept on the streets was as vulnerable in Nassau as fawn in a lion den. If a normal pirate saw her then they would have robbed her in her sleep. However, if a Khalidoran or a Fuarian who were in the city saw her then she would almost certainly have been enslaved. Those groups certainly frequent the island often, carrying slaves back to the far north. Especially after the Great War.

"The bandages are for an injury. As far as what I want...well that's not the reason I'm here. I would like know why you're sleeping in this alley. You're not dressed like a beggar, but you are certainly no pirate. Are you an escaped slave by chance or are you just a courtesan?" He asked the girl. Even if she happened to be a slave, Dorian had no intention of bringing her back.

Vi watched the man, wondering whether others wore bandages such as he did when he spoke. "The bandages are for an injury. As far as what I want...well that's not the reason I'm here. I would like know why you're sleeping in this alley. You're not dressed like a beggar, but you are certainly no pirate. Are you an escaped slave by chance or are you just a courtesan?"

Neviah furrowed her brow as she stared up at the man. She was none of those though he seemed to be almost insulting her at this point. A courtesan? Really? Was she really appearing that low?

"No, I'm not. Not any of those things. I'm only here because I'm looking for something and was taking a break," Vi says as she stares up at the man, confidence returning to her as she stared at him. Night was coming and she could see it. "I've been looking for a place that sells maps. Would you know of one?" Vi asks as she stares up at him.

Maybe she could trade something to a map vendor, or find a way to make just enough money to buy something. She could even dive under water to gather pearls and sell those. Those were valuable on land weren't they? She had seen them only in the fancier people's clothing.

She heard a commotion at the entrance of the alley and looked to see a group of men moving towards her. "Sir, that girl is an escaped slave, move away," The leader called as they ran. Neviah, unsure what was going on, watched only to realize what was going on. Shaking her head, she took off in the opposite direction.

As she left the entrance, she ran into a woman in a rather extravagant dress, falling to the cobblestones . "I'm so sorry," Neviah managed as she looked back at the men who had wanted her only to see them backing away upon seeing the lady in the dress.

Benyamin thought long and hard about what Aja said. He speedily came to the conclusion Jeremiaem was merely an alias. Considering the name does not appear on any tablets or scrolls from his time, it must have been his alter ego, so to avoid attention when living out his life away from prophesying. Also, he always covered his eyes with bandages and wore a mask cloth over his mouth. Both were fairly modest, like the rest of his attire, meaning he could easily blend in with the crowd. His cap covered most of his hair (This is not to be confused with a baseball cap.)

Recalling the different relics in his "museum", four Larshraelite artifacts came to mind, three written documents, one staff: the Annals of the Larhsraelite Council of Elders, the Journal of the Last General, the Priest's Son's Book, and the Staff of Larshrael. All four items were linked to the Council of Elders, be it directly or indirectly. The Annals record, among other things, the offspring of elders and prime elders which headed the former. One entry came to mind: Deborasi, the first female Prime Elder, was recorded to have had four daughters and three sons, the sons having been known to disappear at perceivably random times before coming back in the house. Except, none of them are recorded in the Annals to be Jeremiaem, whom lived during that time frame. He must have been one of the three sons. That was deduction number one.

The Journal of the Last General tells of how Jeremiaem was of a medium height and average weight and fitness (which was still very much fit) among the Larshraelites, which added to the ability to blend in with the crowd, but also notes a strange thing about the prophet nobody else was able to. The voice of Jeremiaem had similarities to two people he helped raised while Deborasi was away on military campaigns to defend Larshrael. Judkarsh and Solomirka fit the description very closely without referring to the face. Deduction number two.

The Priest's Son's Book describes the friendship between himself and the three sons of Deborasi, including all the mischief they would get into. Of interest at the moment was the part where the Priest's Son went on to explain the odd behaviors concerning Judkarsh and how he would suddenly speak more symbolically and seriously, his eyes not looking at anything in particular. The journal also mentioned the incident always followed by Judkarsh running off without saying another word. The third and final deduction was in place to determine who Jeremiaem truly was.

There was only one problem, however: where did Judkarsh head off to after Larshrael's fall? He would have had to have been somewhere few individuals would bother to look, for whatever reason it was. He would not have hid the shield in or anywhere near a town or city, however. That would have been too easy. Besides, considering it was said there were elaborate traps in store, the location would have had to have been largely remote so to have had time to build them while keeping the watchful eye of the enemy away from himself. Traps often required stone or wood, which Judkarsh was excellent in using both materials. From that, Benyamin was able to determine that Judkarsh either went to the highly dangerous Weskri Forest, the arid Sinaat Desert, or the largely-untouched Zukron Mountains. The Staff would be of help in evading traps once there, as well as in finding more clues.

After he had thought all that out in his head, he looked up at Aja and said to her, "I think I have an idea where to go from here, now. Thanks, Aja." His smile while speaking was an innocent one without any hidden meanings. It was his typical that was friendly to people when there was no action.
