A lazy, sarcastic drunk with a violent past.
William is a prime example of the Civil War, a Confederate Bushwhacker who has seen and done things that many 'civilized' people would find inhumane. He is a grumpy 'old' man with a sarcastic and cynical sense of humor and wouldn't think twice about hitting someone if they insulted him or took his drink (goes for women as well!). Most of the time he drowns his sorrow's in whiskey or other types of alcohol he can get his hands on. He is also somewhat paranoid and is not very trusting of other people. All faults and sins aside he's still a human being capable of some acts of compassion and emotion. When one earns the trust of William, more often than not they have gained a reliable and trustworthy ally capable of shooting a revolver with surprising speed and accuracy.
Hobbies-Drinking, gambling, watching fights (animal or human)
Skills- Experienced war veteran (Served in the Indian and Civil Wars), knows how to use his six shooter and his Winchester Rifle, quick with a Bowie knife, has knowledge surviving in the "Bush" ie: knows how to build shelters, start fires, find food, make traps etc. and is a talented rider.
Professions- Former Scout for the Army, became a Confederate Bushwhacker during the Civil War and now makes a living doing whatever job he has knowledge in.
Goals- Die of old age.
Equipment: A saddle for his horse, a black Appaloosa with white spots on its rear and face, a flask filled with some sort of alcohol, a holder for his Bowie knives
Weapons: A Colt Single Action Army Revolver, three large bowie hunting knives and a Winchester Repeater Rifle.
Little people know much about William's childhood and family life. His father was a pastor in a mining settlement and an ex-gunman. His mother, the woman who took his father out of the "business" died when he was only thirteen, leaving him and his father to fend off the world on their own. They traveled around until the death of William's father by several lawmen. After that many people never saw William again until he enlisted in the Army during the Indian Wars against the Lakota chief Sitting Bull.
Not only did William become a decorated scout but he also became an experienced survivalist. Sadly these honors were taken away when he sided with
Confederate forces during the American Civil War where he served as a Bushwhacker, randing and destroying Union-Sympathetic families. There were numerous atrocities that he committed but those go unrecorded and he has yet to reveal it to anyone. Was sentenced to be hanged but was pardoned by an old scout buddy of his who had become an influential officer of the Union Army.
Now he drifts form town to town, living in the bars or on the streets, drinking his life away until the next group of angry militia drive him out for the sentence he narrowly avoided.
