Introduction
Thousands of years ago a portal known as The Death Gate was opened and from the other side came demons, bringing plague and fear in their wake. For many years humanity was nothing but a toy and slave to creatures that were once believed to only exist in fairy tales. Soon, as it always does with humans, they grew weary of enslavement and began to fight back. Those that chose to stand and fight created an organization known as The Eve Society. After many bloody battles and mountains of bodies, humanity was able to subdue the demons. Peace reigned and years passed, then years turned to centuries and The Demon Wars became a legend and myth. With The Death Gate still open however, the Eve Society remained intact, fighting the few demons that came through in the shadows.
In the late 1920's more and more demons began to leak through, stronger than ever before. While a new war began in secret, keeping demons at bay and out of the public eye was becoming more and more difficult. They managed to capture a few without killing them and performed experiments, trying to find new and more effective ways to kill them to no avail...and then they began to experiment with demonic DNA, mixing it with the unborn children of the Society's members. Few of the fetuses actually made it to turn, but those that did gave new hope to those around them.
The demon hybrid children were strong, had the ability to use magic, and lacked human fear while retaining human love and compassion. They were trained as warriors as soon as they were able to wield a sword and war became all they knew. No one looked at them as human beings, but as cannon fodder instead. Amazing, war winning cannon fodder, but still just cannon fodder. They were the finest warriors the Eve Society had ever known and were still being treated as second class citizens...and eventually began to even fear them. Fear mongers began to claim that it was impossible to tell whether or not they would turn evil, saying that their demon DNA was far too unpredictable. They branded them with slurs like "Hell Children" and "Tainted Souls." Soon enough they were locked away and treated as prisoners or slaves. They faced years of humiliation but their fierce loyalty kept them from ever turning on those that created them...but loyalty can only go so far. Now, in the modern world, many of the Hell Children are planning an uprising to overthrow the Eve Society and to escape the prisons they were placed in.
Hell Children do not appear to age past their mid twenties and their life expectancy has yet to be determined, a majority of them are actually in their 90's now. They appear just as any regular human with the exception of their eyes and hair. Many of the Hell Children were born with hair that strongly resembles the color of freshly polished silver, though black has been documented on rare occasions. Their irises are black, though their are cracks of any natural eye color that shine through - much like cracks in glass, but in blue or green or whatever their natural eye color would have been were they never mixed with demon DNA.
Despite their radically evil and aggressive DNA, most Hell Children are extremely docile when not in battle. Many feel emotions more strongly and far more intense than even most humans. In fact, the only emotion the seem to lack is fear.
As far as their abilities go, they possess magic and shapeshifting abilities. They are not unique from one Hell Child to another, they all have the same abilities though some may excel in different fields over others. Using magic also requires a lot of energy and they may need to nap or eat copious amounts of food between larger spells.
After years of enslavement and imprisonment, may of the Hell Children are malnourished and pale. They are kept in an underground prison, beneath The Eve Society's headquarters in Los Angeles, CA.
No one is really sure what a demon in their natural form looks like, as they can take any form they choose and more often than not they take the form of someone's fear or loved one. The oldest demon ever recorded was thousands of years old and only died because it was killed by The Eve Society. None are known to have died of old age. They are cruel and find joy in torturing humans and even other demons. They have the ability to use various magics and have incredible strength and speed. They are also incredibly cunning. Not much else in known.
1. All RPG rules apply.
2. If at all possible, please avoid using any photographs at all for your character descriptions. I would like to see what you can create and not just some photo of Ian Somerhalder or a random anime picture you ripped from Deviant Art. If you have your own character art that you have drawn yourself or commissioned, I will allow it.
3. Please only join if you can post at least once weekly at about 400 words per post. Seems I'm not asking you to post every other day or even every day, I feel that 400 words is fair.
4. Please do not take control of other role player's characters without their explicit permission.
5. If you have any suggestions or something is unclear to you, feel free to PM me or ask me in OOC. :)
