Hector Aisling

"If Pokemon have taught us anything, it is that the impossible is, indeed, possible."

a character in “Pokemon: Champion's Island”, as played by ArgoYamato

Description

Appearance:
Image

Name- Hector Morpheus Aisling
Nickname- Aisling or 'Morphy'. (Most other people simply call him by the former, his last name--no one, so far, other than his parents and closest friends call him 'Morphy'.)
Gender- Male
Age- 31
Hometown- Vermilion City, Kanto Region.
Current Residence- Seafoam Islands, Kanto Region. (I actually travel very frequently and can rarely be found in my cabin in the Seafoam Islands.)
Current Position- Kanto, Battle Frontier; Frontier Brain--Battle Tower (Appears on the Top Floor). (While I am the Frontier Brain of the Kanto Region, Trainers scarcely reach the top of the Battle Tower--it was originally 100 floors high. Fortunately for trainers, this was changed four years ago. Now the Tower is only 75 floors--immediately effects were visible and trainers more frequently made it to the top floor. So far, I have only awarded one gold symbol as only one trainer has truly defeated me.)

Basic Appearance:
Aisling is a relatively tall man, standing at the height of 5' 11". For his height and age, the man isn't very heavy--weighing about 124 lbs. He has brown hair, a shade that has often been described as the color of cocoa beans--the beans which produce coffee, Aisling's favorite drink--, and keeps his hair relatively short and unkempt. His eyes are also a shade of brown, though, just a little brighter than his hair with a tinge of hazel. Although he spends a large amount of his time inside, Aisling also spends a significant amount of time in the field--this has given his skin a peachy tone. The majority of the time, he has a pink Mew or little girl (the Transformed Mew) around him (NOTE: He does not own the Mew--it is free to come and go as it chooses.)
Style:
He is nearly always seen wearing a long white laboratory coat--a gift from his great-uncle for his sixteenth birthday. Aside from the lab coat, Aisling has no true regard for fashion, typically wearing whatever he has available on that particular day. His closet is mostly composed of slacks and dress shirts, but he does have a few jeans and shirts for casual wear. On his left arm, he wears a Relic Band from Undersea Ruins, a gift from a special friend; on his right arm is a new X-transceiver--another gift from his great-uncle to keep in contact (Aisling has no idea how to use it properly...).
Unique Traits/Marks:
Along his left arm, Aisling has a long burn mark which extends from the bottom of his neck to the back of his elbow.

Likes:
  • Pok√©mon, especially his Pok√©mon, and even more specifically: His Rapidash, his Gyarados, and the Mew which travels with him.
  • Traversing Regions (So far, I've been through the Kanto, the Unova, and the Hoenn. I had just taken a hiatus on my trip through the Sinnoh and went to visit Professor in the Johto, when I received the letter.)
  • Pok√©mon Battles (Life is never more unreal while real than during a good match!)
  • Daydreaming
  • Night dreaming
  • Conversing about dreams--especially with the Mew which travels with him and Doctor Sophia (A successor of Dr. Fennel)
  • Writing stories
  • Chinese and Japanese foods. (He has occasional problems, especially with spicy foods...)
  • Watching artists draw

Dislikes:
  • Pok√©mon Crime Syndicates and Activists--the various 'Team's throughout the nation especially Team Rocket.
  • Talking about the events of eight years ago.
  • Getting caught in the rain
  • Misdreavus (It's a long story--also the reason why I didn't go through the regions in order of generations)
  • Banana Peels (Y u leaf these things lying around?!? O.O)
  • People who care solely for position and not for their Pok√©mon
  • High Places--part of the reason he doesn't Fly.
  • Overly crowded cities
  • His own drawings (I don't even think you can call these things doodles...)
  • Dealing with paperwork

Personality:
Aisling is--generally--a calm person whose reaction to the most odd of things is, quite frequently, easy acceptance accompanied by an acknowledging nod. On the other hand, he has a hard time understanding everyday things such as kids walking around with NDS systems and the Global Trading Network--only recently did he obtain a communication device, an Xtransceiver. A great lover of the hidden messages or concept of dreams, Aisling himself is often found dreaming--even during the day. This gives him the problem of not exactly watching where he is going and walking into things--such as poles and people. He has, many times, been caught unprepared by Wild Pokémon as he, unwittingly, crosses through large patches of tall grass.

He has a great sense of cardinal direction and can use maps very well, a skill that proves useful in his travels. And so, despite seemingly not knowing where he is going, Aisling is generally heading in the right direction. He does not participate in the Pokémon Leagues (collecting Eight badges, facing the Elite Four, confronting the Champions), though, he has battled against many of the various Leagues' officials and defeated the majority of those he faced--this is part of the reason behind how he has come to become the Kanto Region's Frontier Brain (albeit, usually off traveling rather than actually in the region...). He enjoys Pokémon Battles and is adept at them--he spent his first 6 years as a Pokémon Trainer hunting down out-of-line Pokémon Crime Syndicates and Activists and defeating them.

Aisling enjoys spending time to his Pokémon, trying to understand each of them individually. The three that he knows best--and know him best--are his Gyarados, his Rapidash, and the Mew which travels with him [it's more of a really, really close friend than actually his Pokémon].

He absolutely abhors the Crime Syndicates and Activist groups of the Pokémon--Team Rocket especially. While Aisling is typically kind and opposed to public humiliation--defeating prominent trainers in public--he has no qualms facing Team Rocket and treats even the grunts with apathy colder than the ice of Kyurem. At times, he has even come close to outright killing members. He wasn't always like this--initially, he simply really-really disliked them--things changed seven years ago...

History:
Aisling was born into a family of scientists. The son of the prominent Flynn and Talia Aisling and great-nephew of the Seafoam Island's Sigil, Aisling was brought up questioning all things, how they worked, why they worked--brought up to be a skeptic of all things. Of all things, he was most interested in Pokémon and dreams: Do they have dreams like us? Do their dreams show the future if they have Future Sight? Could Ghost Pokémon enter dreams?

He befriended his first Pokémon when he was ten, a Magikarp that he found washed up on the Vermilion shore. Other kids laughed at him and criticized his Magikarp, but he had never really cared about what the other kids said. One day, a man showed up to tell Aisling that his parents were dead. They soon became involved in some underground experiments which led to their deaths a few months before the boy turned nine. Aisling was adopted by Sigil, his fossil-maniac of a great-uncle, but he was crushed by the loss of his parents--he attempted suicide on Cinnabar Island twice but was saved by Magikarp each time. Gradually, he got over it and, by his tenth birthday, he was ready to set off on his Pokémon journey with his Magikarp. Sigil set him all up for his travels, but--on his very first day alone--he was confronted and crushed by Rocket Grunts. His Magikarp was taken.

Aisling had to save his friend. He owed his life to his Magikarp and so he set out with that sole mission in mind. The first Pokémon that he befriended on his mission was a Ponyta--it was with this Ponyta that he was eventually able to storm Rocket's hideouts with--one hideout at a time. Long story short: after about a year, he was able to save his friend AND, as an added bonus, was also able to set free a Mew which had been captured and experimented upon.

The Mew had, actually, already had a human friend (NOT owner) before it had been captured. Over the next year, Aisling escorted the Mew back to find it's friend who lived in the Johto Region. There, at the city of the 8th Gym, Blackthorn City, Aisling and the Mew had found out that the Mew's friend had already left on her Pokémon journey and that they would have to chase after her to find her. It was there that he and the Mew split paths--Mew would continue to search for it's friend, while Aisling would return to the Kanto and face Team Rocket once again.

And so, Aisling continued to fight against Rocket, traversing various parts of the globe, continuing his Pokémon adventure, and repeatedly facing off against the Rocket Admins. After becoming involved in a Team Plasma plot for World domination--14 years ago--, Aisling was recognized as one of the main Liberators of the Kanto Region and became renown, though, he tried to remain low-key as too much attention would make it much harder for him to continue chasing the Crime Syndicates and Activists.

Then, he was nominated for Kanto Region Frontier Brain. By then, he had traveled through all the Kanto Cities, headed through the Hoenn, and had just begun to traverse the Unova. At the urging of Sigil and his Pokémon, Aisling accepted and took position at Kanto's Battle Tower with 100 floors. No trainer made it to the top for several years. Aisling quickly (within a year) decided that simply waiting was not his style and that he would, once again, resume his Pokémon travels, hunting the extreme varieties of Pokémon Crime and Activism. And he did...

However, the then-eighteen-year-old's life took a drastic change when he ran into Mew (Yes, the one he had saved eight years previously) again--and it's friend, sixteen year old Yui Kirigaya who, at the time, had already obtained 15 badges from various regions but had not yet defeated a single champion. In any case, their run-in was not a coincidence--Mew was, once again, on the run from a Crime Syndicate. Aisling and Yui teamed up and were able to fend off multiple admins. The three (Mew, Yui, and Aisling) made good friends and, soon, Yui had decided to join Aisling in the fight against Pokémon Crime Syndicates and Activism while Aisling agreed to help her train to defeat the Champions. Over the next 5 years, the three would continue to travel together, growing ever so much closer, fighting and training together day and night--eventually, Yui had defeated the Johto and Kanto Champions but had declined the position as she wished to continue traveling with Aisling. Ten years ago, when Aisling was twenty-one and Yui was nineteen, they were called to the Sinnoh to join a coalition intended stop a Team Galactic plot--this earned both Aisling and Yui hatred from the Galactics...

When he was twenty-two, the Battle Tower was reduced to just 75 floors and challengers quickly began to appear... Aisling faced and defeated the majority of them--still rewarding them with Silver Symbols for their skill. But one trainer actually defeated him. That was Yui who had defeated Aisling with Mew. (And, I still can't believe it, she told me, jokingly--I think--"And so, the cycle makes its round and teacher becomes the student while the student becomes the teacher."). This only made the two grow closer as, now, they were both on equal levels.

Then came another great change... Eight years ago, Team Rocket attempted to cause a battle between Lugia and Ho-oh with the ultimate goal of capturing the two. The site of the battle was Ecrutreak City in the Johto Region--Yui's home region. The duo immediately rushed to join up with whatever group would attempt to halt the Crime Syndicate... The only casualty that Aisling has ever suffered in his moves against Pokémon Criminal Syndicates and Activism was that of Yui Kirigaya. Aisling was crushed and is still greatly affected by this loss... That year, Aisling returned home and stayed with Sigil for long while--depressed over his loss. Aisling disbanded his main combat team during this time and focused on just the Battle Tower for three years...

Aisling finally left his shell, after he and Sigil were attacked by a vengeful Team Galactic party. Aisling was able to fend them off and realized that he had gotten himself far too involved and now he couldn't leave that world behind--he had to get back in the game. Aisling participated in the fight against another Team Rocket stunt--this time in the Kanto Region. Now, he is still traveling the regions, hunting down Pokémon Crime Syndicates and Activists.

Aisling has met and befriended many renown people including (but not limited to): Troka Manketore, a Frontier Brain of the Hoenn, while checking to see if Pokémon Crime Syndicates or Activists were hunting down a Latios. Akita Red--the present Champion of the Unova Region; they became friends while allying against Team Plasma. Seth Sheerwood, now friends for about four years--they've worked together foiling several Team Rocket and Team Galactic plots. More recently, he has befriending Viola Taiga, the Kanto Region's Top Coordinator--they met during a Team Rocket resurgence about a year ago.

Starter Pokémon: Magikarp (Arguably, Ponyta)

Team on Hand: (Upon arrival)

Image
Image
Name ~ Yui (Mew took this nickname about five years ago. It was the name of my friends, Yui Kirigaya, who had helped me fight against Crime Syndicates and Activists)
Species and Type ~ Mew -- Psychic
Gender ~ Genderless (I consider her to be a girl.)
Ability ~ Synchronize
Nature ~ Mild. She is a very playful and quick witted Pokémon, perhaps not always thinking her actions through but we have a great time together!
History ~ Mew is, perhaps, my closest friend. I found her during the years that I was hunting down Team Rocket bases in search for Yamato, my Magikarp. She was badly burned when I first found her--I assume that the burns were from the several experiments that had been run by the Crime Syndicate--and had not been properly treated leaving her in a near death state. The Nurses hadn't thought that she would pull through. In the end, Mew was the one who taught me that the impossible is always possible--she made it through medical treatments and recovered quickly. I was so glad. I found out that she already had a close human friends and so, after I helped her as much as I could, we parted ways. Never did I think that we would meet again.

But, the impossible is always possible, and, sure enough, we ran into each other six years later. She was with her friend, Yui Kirigaya... the girl that changed my life... Anywho, she's gone now--she died eight years ago, lying in my arms. Yui Kirigaya is gone--technically speaking. But, Mew stayed with me and she hasn't left me--not once in the past eight years.

Our relationship is sort of an odd one. Yui takes on many different roles in my life. Sometimes she mothers me, sometimes she is like a daughter, sometimes a sister, but mainly a best friend and confidant. But, it wasn't always like that--I assure you. Mew was actually far more fond of the Yui Kirigaya, my partner... It wasn't until after Yui Kirigaya's death that Mew became really close to me. That's when she allowed me to keep her in a Pokéball and took her present nickname: Yui.

To put things blatantly, to me, Yui is more human than Pokémon--to further support my point, she often travels with me in the form of a little girl (through the Transform move). Unlike my other Pokémon, she is almost never kept in a Pokéball. We converse about all things through a sort of Telepathy--understanding the Pokémon language is still pretty difficult for me...

Being a Psychic type, she can sense the emotions of other Pokémon and is especially sensitive to those of fear and agony. This has led us to saving many other Pokémon in danger of Pokémon Crime Syndicates and Activists--it's actually how I ran into Troka in the Hoenn (Long story...)
Moves ~
  • Transform (Note: Yui enjoys using this move, especially outside of battle.)
  • Teleport (Note: This move is the means through which Aisling travels)
  • Psychic
  • Psyshock
  • Zen Headbutt
  • Secret Power
  • Magic Coat

Image
Name ~ Yamato
Species and Type ~ Gyarados -- Water x Flying
Gender ~ Male
Ability ~ Moxie
Nature ~ Calm. Unlike the majority of Gyarados, Yamato doesn't get angry easily. He is a careful strategist and rarely acts out on impulses. The only exception is when he is faced by the various Pokémon Crime Syndicates and Activists... Then, things get really dangerous really fast for everyone.
History ~ Yamato was my first Pokémon. We've been together for almost forever and are great friends. I found him, as a Magikarp, beached on the shores of Vermilion City when I was six and brought him home. After the death of my parents... Yamato was the one who saved me from drowning, twice. He kept me going and, on my fifteenth birthday, we set out together on our first Pokémon journey! However, Team Rocket stole him... That was what drove me to hunt down their bases, eventually leading me to find Mew along the way and earning the title of Kanto's Liberator. He has traveled with me through all the regions that I have trekked through so far.
Moves ~
  • Aqua Tail
  • Blizzard
  • Surf
  • Dive
  • Bounce
  • Outrage
  • Hyper Beam

Image
Name ~ Luna
Species and Type ~ Rapidash (Shiny) -- Fire
Gender ~ Female
Ability ~ Flame Body
Nature ~ Naughty. Luna is an overly confident Pokémon that enjoys practical jokes--I've had my fair share of those... To start off, most other Pokémon are initially frightened by her mannerisms, the exceptions being Yui and Yamato.
History ~ After Yamato was stolen, I had set out on my own to save him--that didn't work out too well. After wandering aimlessly for a few days, I ran into a lone Ponyta--she was shunned by her heard as the odd pony out (she was a Shiny Pokémon). I tried to befriend her and got burned multiple times, after a week, however, she let me get close. After about a month, she agreed to help me on my mission and I had my 4th Pokémon! She was with me when I freed Yamato and has traveled with me ever since.
Moves ~
  • Flame Charge
  • Double Team
  • Substitute
  • Megahorn
  • Sunny Day
  • Inferno
  • Flare Blitz

Image
Name ~ Heathcliff
Species and Type ~ Aggron -- Steel x Rock
Gender ~ Male
Ability ~ Rock Head
Nature ~ Adamant. While he may be soft spoken and slightly cold, he is a very stubborn Pokémon and refuses to lose Battles. His combat style balances physical attacks with physical defenses. The one time he did lose-- to Yui--, he had run away for days before I could find him...
History ~ After escorting Mew, I returned to the Kanto Region and, after my Kanto travels, I moved on straight to the Hoenn Region--avoiding the Johto Region, and Misdreavus... I met Heathcliff early on in the Dewford Cave leading a guild of Aron against a oppressing group of Nosepass, a losing battle. I had provided assistance to his guild and, after the Nosepass were overcome, Heathcliff decided to join my party. He was the best native Hoenn Pokémon that traveled with me and we became good friends. After my breakdown... I let Heathcliff run free back in the Hoenn Region. It's been about eight years since I last partied with him--I called him back from his new guild in the Hoenn Victory Road for this event.
Moves ~
  • Autotomize
  • Iron Tail
  • Iron Head
  • Protect
  • Stone Edge
  • Double Edge

Image
Name ~ Khaos
Species and Type ~ Zweilous -- Dark x Dragon
Gender ~ Male
Ability ~ Levitate
Nature ~ Rash. Oh so much... The only thing that typically occupies his mind is utter annihilation of whatever lays before him.
History ~ I met Khaos, as a Deino, three years ago--or, rather, he tried to eat me three years ago. Since then, he has gotten better--he only tries to eat me occasionally. At first I was actually quite scared of Khaos, but I've learned that he only eats things that he likes (a sad problem) and thus, it is a sign of affection.
Moves ~
  • Bite
  • Crunch
  • Dark Pulse
  • Dragon Pulse
  • Outrage
  • Dragon Dance

Image
Name ~ Diabel
Species and Type ~ Escavalier -- Bug x Steel
Gender ~ Male
Ability ~ Overcoat
Nature ~ Jolly. Always the upbeat fellow, Diabel is always trying to raise the spirits of my other Pokémon when they are feeling down or hopeless.
History ~ I actually met Diabel as an Escavalier who had been abandoned by another trainer after he had lost a major battle. Unlike you might expect, Diabel was jolly from the start--he had no problems trusting me and we got along quite well. He is a serious combatant and is very brave but, at the same time, he isn't too careful leading him into trouble in battles... I guess he's kind of like me in that way! He was on my Combat team and was left in Sigil's care, eight years ago... Now, considering that 'R' may very well be 'Rocket', I have brought him back on my main party.
Moves ~
  • Twin Needle
  • Quick Guard
  • Ironhead
  • Fury Cutter
  • X-Scissor
  • Megahorn
  • Giga Impact

PC contained Pokémon (Not Main Party):

Image
Name ~ Leafya
Species and Type ~ Chikorita -- Grass
Gender ~ Female
Ability ~ Leafguard
Nature ~ Naive. She's a youngling.
History ~ To tell the truth, I've only just met her. Just a few days before I received the letter, I had dropped by the Johto Professor's lab where he presented me with Chikorita after scolding me for having skipped the Johto Region. I plan to take her to the island and train her there--IF this isn't a Rocket trap.
Moves ~
  • Tackle
  • Growl
  • Sunny Day
  • Grass Knot
  • Razor Leaf

Image
Name ~ Wukong
Species and Type ~ Monferno -- Fire x Fighting
Gender ~ Male
Ability ~ Iron Fist
Nature ~ Impish. Wukong is a cute little rascal who enjoys practical jokes even more than Luna--the two get along pretty well--and is over confident to the point of, perhaps, being narcissistic...
History ~ When I first arrived in the Sinnoh Region, Professor Rowan presented me with Wukong--he hadn't offered any other choices or any reasons why this Chimchar specifically. The very first battle I had with Wukong, he had nearly set the torch to the whole of Route 201. As of right now, he is still learning how to control his fire power, though, I question how much he actually cares about control, he only worries about victory. But, he is a good Pokémon overall, always looking out for the weaker or younger Pokémon despite teasing them a lot.
Moves ~
  • Taunt
  • Mach Punch
  • Flame Wheel
  • Brick Break
  • Fire Punch
  • Mega Punch

Image
Name ~ Silica
Species and Type ~ Galvantula -- Bug x Electric
Gender ~ Female
Ability ~ Compoundeyes
Nature ~ Quirky. Sometimes she seems like she is insane, but she can be very focused if she needs to be...
History ~ Another member of my Combat team. She would trap opposition and leave it to the other combat Pokémon to finish the battles. However, she can also hold her own quite well. She was also left in Sigil's care eight years ago.
Moves ~
  • Spider Web
  • Electroweb
  • Thunder Wave
  • Volt Switch
  • Bug Bite
  • Electro Ball
  • Thunder

Image
Name ~ Reaper
Species and Type ~ Kabutops -- Rock x Water
Gender ~ Male
Ability ~ Battle Armor
Nature ~ Hasty. This guy is all about speed.
History ~ One of the members of my original party (during my Kanto travels after separating from Mew). He was a Fossil found by Sigil and, after revival, was given to me to train. He stuck with me for many years as a high-leveled combatant, but, after Yui's... I let him stay with great-uncle Sigil for a while.
Moves ~
  • Feint
  • Slash
  • Aqua Jet
  • Aqua Tail
  • Rapid Spin
  • Superpower
  • Night Slash

Image
Name ~ Libertia
Species and Type ~ Bastiodon -- Rock x Steel
Gender ~ Female
Ability ~ Sturdy
Nature ~ Brave. She has taken on some of most fearsome attacks that I've ever seen--without even flinching.
History ~ I found her in the Sinnoh Region the one time I passed through, during the years after I had separated from Mew. She was a member of my main combat party and was, like many other members, left with Sigil after the events of eight years ago...
Moves ~
  • Protect
  • Iron Defense
  • Block
  • Magnet Rise
  • Metal Burst
  • Iron Head
  • Heavy Slam

Image
Name ~ Sophia
Species and Type ~ Mightyena -- Dark
Gender ~ Female
Ability ~ Moxie
Nature ~ Careful.
History ~ Sophia was the tracker of my main combat team. I found her while traversing the Hoenn Region--she was the first Hoenn Pokémon. She earned her nickname--which is my Mother's name--because of her excellent tracking ability, she can always seem to find you... no matter where you are. She was left with Sigil after the events of eight years ago.
Moves ~
  • Sand Attack
  • Howl
  • Odor Sleuth
  • Assurance
  • Bite
  • Thief

~Hector Aisling~

Aisling was just checking his mailbox outside, his favorite coffee mug in hand, to see if the Delibird had delivered his mail yet, when his watch-like X-transceiver rang. The relatively tall man sighed, took a sip of coffee, and set his mug on the mail box. The price for connectedness? No peace and quiet. He looked at the phone and froze. Kazuto Kirigaya.

Kirigaya. It had been years since he last saw that name. It brought back too many memories--unpleasant ones. Seeing the name now, especially following the name of Yui's father, didn't make Aisling feel too good. He tried his best to put on a smile as he pressed the button which would connect him to his caller.

"Hello, Mr. Kiri--"

"Hector." Nobody calls me that anymore, Aisling thought. But, seeing the somber expression on the older man's face, Aisling quickly decided against pointing that out. Kazuto Kirigaya didn't look to happy to see the face of man involved in the loss of his daughter. "It's been a long time, Hector."

"Indeed, it has."

The darker haired man frowned at Aisling's comment. "Something has come up."

Well, you did call me, that's 'something'. Aisling also quickly decided against noting that. "Yes sir, what is it?"

"I know that we aren't close enough for us to do anything for free, but, I have a favor to ask you." Kazuto paused for a moment. "It also might be something of interest to you." When he saw that Aisling was still paying attention--albiet, not saying anything--he continued, "This morning, Sachi received a letter from an unknown source."

The chocolate haired man nodded, but, at the hearing of 'letter', he remembered why he was outside and checked his mailbox--a single letter was inside.

"It was inviting her, and a multitude of other prominent trainers, to some island and," Kazuto arched his eyebrow at the screen, "it was signed 'R'."

At the sound of the letter alongside the nearly acidic tone of the man's voice, Aisling felt his teeth clench. "Rocket." He quickly ripped open his letter. It was just as Kazuto had said: an invitation to the best trainers and coordinators throughout the Pokemon world to go to an island, signed by an ambigious 'R'. Within the folds of the letter was a ticket for a ship in Vermillion city. "It seems as though this is another plot--it could be their biggest one since five years ago. I've been invited as well."

Kazuto nodded. "I wouldn't have called you unless I thought that they were involved and that you'd be invited as well. I would like for you to--"

"I understand. 'Watch over Sachi' and make sure nothing," Aisling knew that they were both thinking of Yui Kirigaya, "happens to her or the other trainers."

"Don't let anything go wrong," Kazuto ordered, his expression darkening. Aisling could hear the 'again' hinted in the back of the older man's tone. The screen shut off.
---------------------------------------------------------------------30 minutes later-----------------------------------------------------------------------

"Yui, are you ready to go?"

A little girl, dressed in all pink, popped up at Aisling's side with a bright smile on her face. Her long, jet black hair glistened in the sun's light. Aisling returned the affectionate smile and ruffled the girl's hair. He was carrying a backpack filled with several necessities and five Pokeballs hung at his belt--this had only taken him a few minutes to prepare because he was always on the go. The only real change he had made was the switching of Leafa, his new Chikorita, for Diabel, his Escavalier and a veteran combat Pokemon.

"Alright. We just have to tell Uncle Sigil."

A short, well rounded man popped up at the gate to the house. He waved towards the two.

"Speak of the devil and he appears," Aisling murmured, jokingly. Then, Sigil walked past the mailbox, knocking the coffee mug--which Aisling had left there earlier--to the ground. The sound of breaking Sinnoh (a joke on China) filled the air. Aisling's favorite mug. "Devilry!"

The mustached man gave a hearty chuckle. "Shouldn't be leaving things around, Morphy!"

Aisling couldn't resist a smile at his great-uncle's upbeat attitude. "Haha, you're right... Uncle, Yui and I are leaving."

"So soon?" The man inquired--though, seemingly not paying too much attention. He was examining the broken ceramic.

"Yes, Uncle. Something has come up, I might not be back for a month. I'm also taking Diabel with me."

That seemed to get his great-uncle's attention. The shorter man stood up, looking at Aisling with a serious expression. "Hector." Aisling winced at the sound of his great-uncle using his first name. "You aren't going to do anything dangerous are you?"

"No. No, just a little outing," the light brown haired man said, trying to reassure his great uncle.

Sigil's expression darkened. "You haven't had Diabel or any of the other hunting Pokemon with you in a long time and I've seen that expression before. Eight years ago..." Aisling felt a chill shoot up his spine. But then, his uncle smiled again, "If you need to go, go! I won't stop you! Just be careful, Morphy!"

Aisling nodded feeling a grin return to his face. "Thanks, Sigil. Keep well!"

His uncle smiled kindly and waved before walking into the house.

The tall man turned back to the little girl. She wasn't there. Instead, a small pink Mew was floating around his head. "Let's go, Yui." The Mew reached out with its left hand. Aisling smiled and held the pink Pokemon's hand. A bright pinkish light began to envelope the area around the two.

"Teleport: Vermillion."

~Aisling~

When the pink light faded, the brown haired man was standing amidst the familiar buildings of Vermilion City--his home town. Yui was on his shoulders in the form of a little girl again. He pulled back the sleeve of his white lab coat revealing his X-tranceiver. I should probably alert the others. Seth first.

"Hey Seth, I've just received a--" Aisling paused to listen as his friend interrupted him.

"You too, huh?" Seth pulled out a white envelope, grinning.

Aisling nodded and was about to tell his friend that this was suspicious when Yui tugged on his hair causing him to yelp. She seemed to have seen something and wanted him to check. She tugged his hair again, this time to make sure he had noticed. "Ow! Hey, Seth, gotta go! I'll see you at the island then! Careful though, Seth--this could be a Team Rocket plot." He quickly pressed a button and his dark-skinned friend disappeared. Aisling looked up at the little girl on his shoulders, "What is it, Yui?"

The girl grinned, a little mischievously, and leaned to one side causing the brown haired man carrying her to stumble in that direction--trying to keep balance. "Hey!" the man protested. She laughed, a sound like a cat 'mewing' and continued to lean around, directing Aisling down the street. Aisling grimaced, trying to keep himself and Yui from falling. "Yui! That's dangerous! Stop--"

Then, he saw where she had been directing him. Standing a couple meters ahead was a girl wearing headphones. Viola Tiaga, one of his friends--they'd met about a year ago and had kept in occasional contact. What was she doing here? A Wartortle was at her side and she was talking to blue haired boy who Aisling didn't know, but recognized as a member of the Kanto Pokemon League.

Yui, still on Aisling's shoulders leaned forward, forcing the man to walk towards the two people. He cleared his throat and, looking at the young woman, remarked, "What a surprise! Ms. Taiga, what are you doing here today? And, would you care to introduce me to your friend?"

Wyatt was the first to notice Aisling approaching; he turned around and gave Viola's pants leg a light tug to alert her of his arrival. Viola first looked down at the Wartortle curiously, then looked up and glanced about until she saw him; by that time, though, he was already upon them. She grinned dumbly and became excited in a flurry.

"My friend, you know that you can always call me Viola!" she laughed, giving him a mockingly scornful poke on the shoulder. "And a pleasant surprise it is!" Wyatt climbed up on to Viola's shoulder. He looked curiously at the girl on Aisling's shoulder, not quite sure what to make of her. "Currently, I'm waiting for the ship that's going to take us to some sort of island. I was invited to some sort of tournament; a letter from someone who simply goes by 'R'." She fished around in her bag a bit, then pulled out the letter. She held it up to the light, as if checking its validity. "It was quite random; I hadn't been doing anything spectacular at the time, I had just been sitting around after the last Contest. Oh, and this?" She gave a quick gesture with her hand to Aquarion. "This is a member of the Elite Four here, I have only just met him myself. His name is..." She thought to herself for a moment. He had never mentioned his name, but she knew that she had heard it on the news or some other television program. "...Aquarion! Yes, that's it! Aquarion Throndrop! Haha!" It seemed an accomplishment for her to remember not only someone's face, but also their name.

Viola suddenly changed her stance. She folded her arms across her chest and turned her head to the side; her gaze became inquisitive. "And why are you here? You didn't mention coming back the last time that we talked... Is there something I should know about?" By this, she meant any possible Rocket ruckus that could be going about. She had been keeping watch for any peculiar activity, upon his request, during her stay in Saffron City. However, she hadn't noticed anything and had not reported anything back to him. Was there something that she had missed? She certainly hoped not.

Aquarion got up, and looked up, there was another person, a brown haired guy, "You know her?" Aquarion being ackward forgot to introduce himself, "Oh I forgot, hello like Viola says, but she forgot one thing. I'm the youngest Elite 4 member Aquarion Throndrop, but call me Aqua." Aqua turned to Viola, "Sorry for the surprise there Viola, my Bulbasuar can get a little excited when meeting new people, isn't that right." Smiling at Bulbasaur.
"Bulba".
"Anyways Viola, I've seen all your competitions and you were a natur......WHAT, YOU'VE BEEN INVITED TO A TOURNAMENT"
He held up an invitation to both of them. Then Aquarion reliesed something, "Wait, are you the Frontier Brians in the Kanto region?" Looking at the brown haired dude.

She laughed, bending down once more to pat the Bulbasaur on the head. "It's alright; I understand what it feels like to have over-zealous pokemon." At this, Wyatt seemed to release a puff of hot air, folding his arms and grumpily pouting his face away from the group. She was about to thank Aqua for his compliment towards her, until he said the latter half. At this, Viola gave a curious twitch of her head over towards Aqua; she had not realized that he had been summoned here for the same reason as she had. After an examination of the letter, she determined that it was, in fact, the same one that she had received. What were the chances that they had been summoned to the same place; the Top Coordinator and a member of the Elite Four of a region?

"That's the same tournament that I'm entered in... What the Heracross is going on here?" Her features took a turn for the confused; her eye brows raised and she pouted her lip. She had thought that she had been rather special, being invited to this thing. But it seemed that this was not so, and she didn't necessarily like that.

Aqua who looked at Bulbasaur with amusement said, "Bulbasaur I think you have enough attention to last one day, come over here before you make her Wartortal jelous." Bulbasaur obeyed and stayed by his side looking for danger, if there were any. Aqua then pondered upon this estonishment of both invetations. "Maybe he's gathering top trainers for the tournament, I mean you can't have a tournament without top of the line people." He ginned at her, with his hands behind his head.

"So, you've both received the invitations as well," he mused, pulling out and holding up his own letter. "I, too, have been invited. Though, whether this has anything to do with Team Rocket, I am unsure of... We must keep our guards up." His expression darkening, he put his finger to the signature of their host, a bright red 'R'.

Meanwhile, Yui had just noticed the Wartortle's curious gaze. The dark hair girl, who was actually a transformed Mew, grinned. She reached over, poking the blue Pokemon on the nose and--simultaneously--causing Aisling to stumble.

The taller man caught himself and came up, smiling at Viola. "Thank you for taking care of Saffron City. I was going to notify you about this letter, but it seems like we'll be traveling together anyways! Glad to have you with me, again!"

He turned to the blue haired boy. "Yes, I am one of the Kanto's Frontier Brains, I'm in charge of the Battle Tower." He studied the young member of the Elite Four for a moment. If the members of the Elite Four are coming to this island, we should have much to worry about, he thought to himself. Then, Aisling realized that he had been frowning at Aquarion. "Oh." He quickly smiled at the boy and extended his hand--as if to shake hands. "Aisling. Hector Aisling. Pleased to meet you Mr. Throndrop."

Aqua looked over at Wartortal, who stumbled backwards, and Aqua gave a little giggle.

Aqua took Hector's hand, and greeted him, "Thanks Hector, but you can call me Aqua. Everyone calls me that." Aqua stared at his invitation and frowned, and replied,"But what's funny is over at the Indigo Platue, Xavier told me that I'm the only one that recieved the invitation. He was worried about me, being the youngest and all, but I told him 'Not to worry'."

He took his pocket watch out, and looked at the time. "Hey it's 3:10 do you think we sould be going?"

Viola gave a small, tight smile and nod at Aqua's first comment... Yes, it was true. A tournament did require top-notch trainers. Which, of course, she was.

Wyatt, meanwhile, had stuck his tongue out at the girl. He then proceeded to playfully make faces at her in his usual mischievous manner. He would do things such as grabbing his cheeks and pulling them really far out, taking the tops of his eyelids and stretching them upwards, or simply grinning like an idiot and crossing his own eyes. Once Viola noticed his antics, she gave him a playful flick on the nose. He stumbled on her shoulder and shook his head furiously, as if that would get rid of the flick.

Viola grimaced and looked down at her own letter. Even with the big 'R' stamped on it, she had not even considered the possibility of it being Team Rocket! Of course, she would never admit that. "I was fearful of them, too," she lied to uphold her own pride. "But anyways, it will be quite a pleasure to get to travel with you again! I missed having a companion," she smiled. At this, Wyatt smacked the side of her head, causing her to wince in pain. "Human companion, I mean!" This seemed to satisfy Wyatt enough as he did not smack her again.

When Aqua spoke again, she suddenly became very alert and aware. "Oh, yes! We've gotta hurry! Last one there is a rotten Exeggcute!" She then began running full-speed towards the dock again. This time Wyatt was prepared and managed to hang on to her shoulder, ushering her on as if he were the captain of a ship.

Aisling couldn't help but grin at the two younger trainers' enthusiasm. He was about to run off after the two when he remembered about Team Rocket. I should probably notify the others. Then, he felt another tug on his hair.

Yui mewed excitedly from on his shoulders. She was pointed reaching out towards Viola's Wartortle and Aquarion's Bulbasaur.

The peach skinned man grinned and dashed off after the two, Yui squealing with glee. "A race it is, then!"

Seth moved nimbly through the city as Lu was still asleep in her home made nest of his chest. He noticed alot of stares as he casually strolled through the city looking for the docks.
"Hey isn't that the Frontier brain? Seth heard someone ask, "Yeah thats Seth!" Another replied. "Really Seth here?!" The questions began to grow more and more and soon he was being swarmed by person after person.
"Seriously guys I'm not that popular." Seth tried to sigh modestly with a smile. He received a transmission on the X-tranceiver from his good friend Aisling.
"Hey Seth, I've just received a--" Aisling paused to listen as his friend interrupted him.

"You too, huh?" Seth pulled out a white envelope, grinning.
With that the communication was cut short when Aisling turned his head and looked away from the watch. Hmm that's odd this thing never gave me problems before, why start acting up now? Seth thought as he reached the dock only to be greeted by a butler.

"Master Sheerwood, allow me to take those for you." The butler dressed person said as he too Seth's case into a room. Seth followed behind quietly and sat in his room meditating. Something just didn't feel right he thought.

Viola did not even pause to look behind her; she simply kept running as fast as she possibly could. She was a runner at heart, as well of a swimmer, so this was what she was naturally "made" to do. She quickly reached the dock, and when she got there she paused. The ship was about to depart, it seemed. Without looking behind her, she called, "It's time to get on the ship!" In a flash, she took out her boat ticket and handed it to the sailor that was standing watch at the dock. She then raced forward and up the ship's loading plank. The ship itself was not really a "ship"; more of an overly-sized boat. Still, it was quite the site and Viola grinned cheerily when she was on its deck. "Geeze, look at this place! It's huge!"

About halfway down to the docks, Aisling realized that running with a little girl on his shoulders was actually pretty difficult. There was a reason people used bikes. I don't have a bike, Aisling thought to himself, but, I do have Yui! He grinned at the girl atop his shoulders and she smiled back, acknowledging what he was about to do. A pink glow began to envelop his surroundings. "Teleport: Vermillion Dock."

The light faded and Aisling found himself standing a few steps away from a stern looking sailor. The man was watching him; he extended his arm towards Aisling. Slightly confused, the chocolate haired man stepped forward, reaching out to shake the sailor hand.

The man snorted and shook his head.

"Oh!" Aisling chuckled weakly and reached into his pocket, producing his invitation.

The sailor nodded. Aisling was about to board the ship when the man halted him again. He frowned at Yui. "One invitation--one person."

The coffee-haired man chuckled again--this time rather jokingly. "Yui, undo the Transform." The little girl grinned and floated off of Aisling's shoulder, turning into a Mew in process. The sailor's eyes widened.

"Oh. Sorry sir."

Aisling nodded and smiled kindly at the man as the little girl reappeared at his side. Then, holding the girl's hand, the tall white-coated man boarded the ship. He found Aquarion with his Bulbasaur. Aisling smiled, "Mr. Throndrop, you seem very close to your Pokemon--I'm so glad there are still people like this in this world!"

Viola saw the Aisling had somewhat beaten them; she pouted a bit, but then got over it quickly. "Aisling, you, sir, have not changed a particle!" she laughed, and Wyatt snickered along with her. "And I agree; Mr. Aqua, you are very compatible with your pokemon! It's quite refreshing. And I agree, a tour of the ship would be pretty lovely." As she spoke, the ship lurched forward slightly; they had set sail!

"Well, where should we explore first?" she asked, a glimmer of adventure sparkling in her eyes. Although it would be a small adventure, she still appreciated the novelty of exploring a new place.

With a grin Aquarion took his pokeballs and threw them in the air and a flash of light appeared.
Now standing in front of Aqua are Ludicolo, Gyarados (Whose in the Ocean by the ship), Chinchou, Roselia, Bulbasaur, and Bellossom,
"I call my team "Thornic Dew""
They all roared at the same time

Aisling smiled at Aquarion. "If you don't want me addressing you as 'Mister', I'll stop. But please don't call me 'Hector', everyone usualy calls me 'Aisling'!"

Yui, meanwhile, had found Viola's Wartortle and was amusing herself by making various faces at the blue Pokemon while also poking Aquarion's Bulbasaur.

The white coated man laughed at the sight. Then, turning to Viola, he commented, "I think we should find the diner. You two must be hungry by now!"

Viola laughed at Aqua. "That's a lovely team! I'll show you mine later, but for now, I agree with Aisling; let's find some dinner!" Viola and Wyatt had never been modest about their food addiction; they loved to eat anything and everything. When they arrived at the diner, she would probably release the remainder of her pokemon so that Aqua could see. "Your pokemon look beautiful, though; you've obviously raised them well!"

Wyatt, meanwhile, was snickering to himself at Yui's antics. He made faces back, and occasionally wagged his tail both playfully and mockingly at it. "Where do you suggest we look for food?" Viola asked.

Aqua made blush of embarrasment, then smiled at Ailing, "Alright Aisling, it's a deal." After hearing about Viola's team, he pouted when he heard she'll show her pokemon later. "Thank you very much for the complement Viola, especially from a Cordinator's perspective. I take pride in keeping my pokemon in good shape, both inside and out."

After hearing dinner is about to be served his eyes perked up, and sparkled, "foooooood" Aqua snaps back into reality. "Well as they say Viola. When in Rome do as the Romans do." And Aqua bowed like a servant would. "TO THE KITCHEN DINING ROOM THING EVERYONE!" And so all of Aqua's pokemon minus Gyarados followed. When he almost made it to the door knob Gyarados cried out.
Aqua then turned to Gyarados, "Gyarados I'm sorry, but you can't come because of your size..." Gyarados gave a sad frown, and almost teared up. "Now don't give me that look, it's true, but I promise after dinner I'll let you out of your pokeball to swim, and I'll give you pokemon food until we have to go to bed. Alright." Gyarados gave a happy nod with a cheerfull noise. Then Aqua returned his Gyarados."

Seth kept meditating and didn't feel anything. "What the hell is taking so long to depart." Seth stood up and decided to go out and check what was going on. He reached for the door and tried moving it but it was bolted shut. Seth tried it all kicking, ramming, punching but nothing worked on that door. Its almost as if...wait of course has to be made out of steel.

Seth turned on his X-tranceiver and called Aisling. "Hey Ais kind of have a little problem here mind come saving me?"

Aisling looked at his tranceiver and shook his head, "You do realize this is the second time I've saved you."

Seth laughed as his friend appeared in the room beside him and disappeared with him. "Ok you see I never get used to how fast that is. Anyway I think someone set up a false ship for me." Seth said before realizing he was in the company of others beside Aisling.

Viola followed quickly behind, and when they entered the grand dining room her eyes sparkled with anticipation. She began drooling, as did Wyatt. They were extremely excited about all of this food! "Alright, guys, it's dinner time!" She grabbed the other five pokeballs that were attached at her waist, then released them into the air. The first to appear was Valor, a brave Pidgeot; Vitesse, a timid Jolteon; Cadence, a fiery Rapidash; Happy, an ironically cheerful Gengar; and finally, Titan, the cocky Kingdra. (The last of these found himself at home in a fairly large fountain that was at the center of the room.) "Go have a blast with the food, guys!" Viola called. Each of the pokemon went their own ways; except Wyatt and Valor, who remained by her side.

Viola and Wyatt immediately went to where the fruit was, and they began to chow down on the many different kinds of foods. They especially enjoyed the varieties of assorted grapes that they found. Suddenly, she found that there was a new person with them. "...Hello?" she asked, not really quite sure what to think.
