Description

Name: Image (Leo)

Picture:
Image

Description: Leo is a thin man with a somewhat noticeable muscle structure around his abs, forearms, and chest from running and climbing. His brown messy hair caresses the sides of his head and make bangs that cover his eyes if he doesn't brush it out of the way. His tan complexion reflects how long he has been traveling on the road, dirt lightly resting against his otherwise smooth skin. His eyes are nothing noticeable with a flat brown glimmer in them and thin eyebrows curving above them. His nose has a slight slope on it and is often referred to as a button nose.

Despite originating from the countryside, Leo dresses and looks more like someone from the city. He wears a dark red V-neck that has somewhat shorter sleeves than a regular shirt since it is aged he tucks into his pants. He wears a stylish white jacket that has several pockets with with two metal buttons on each to keep its contents sealed. The jacket is also warm since it is lined with a thin layer of fur on the inside and a zipper on the front - but there is no hood on it at all. He wears black jeans that tightly fit against his legs to show off their slimness and a black belt for the style. His shoes are simple black hiking shoes that have excellent treads on the bottom for gripping against rocks. To complete his outfit, he carries an very old looking acoustic guitar in a black canvas case on his back at all times.

Age: 26

Sex: Male

Date of Birth: April 16 1988

Birthplace: Sippnh

Sexual Orientation: Straight

Height: 5' 11''

Weight: 145lbs

Body Type: Trim

Voice Type: Baritone

Trainer Class: Pokémon Trainer

Starter Pokemon:
  • Mudkip
Image

Current Pokémon Team:

  • Talonflame (Ray), Marshtomp (Elise), Skourpi (Cutter), Bronzor (Tenzin)
ImageImageImageImage

Equipment: As a traveling trainer, Leo carries several Pokeballs, a Pokedex, several cans of packed berries, a sleeping bag, a rope to maneuver around cliffs or to safely tie himself to something if he gets into a dangerous situation, guitar picks, and a few Super Potions and Revives for dire situations.

Family:
  • Michelangelo Carles - Father
  • Rita Carles - Mother
  • Cameron Carles - Younger Brother

Personality: Leo is often considered a gentleman despite his rural upbringings on a farm. He speaks in a playful and polite manor that is similar to most upper class families throughout the world. He believes that in order to make the world a better place for himself as well as others around him, the truth should always be told and people should be valued rather than abused. He movements and gestures are like that of a relaxed man living out in the country side. While he does have spurs of youthful moments if he is motivated enough, he enjoys lying down in the grass and relaxing with his Pokemon and friends around him just as much. Embracing the idea of making friends rather than enemies, he tries to get to know everyone around him and memorizes every fact he can about them so they can become as close as they can be. He even utilizes his skills in guitar to make better friends since he has always heard that people like music. Because of this attitude he can become attached to people around them and develop intense crushes on girls despite his control over his other emotions. Whenever something frustrates him he never gets too mad, and same can go for happiness so he never becomes overjoyed.

Because of his constant attempts to get to know everyone around him, he can be blunt on occasion and offend people around him. By always telling the truth many people have struggled to confide in him since if asked about a secret he will always tell. He never is the starter of confrontation, but if pushed to it he will be the one to finish it, either with his Pokemon or by himself. When he is by himself though all of his strengths break down and he freaks out. Not having a single Pokemon or friend around him brings back horrible memories of his childhood as an orphan, so he chooses to surround himself with someone at all times if he has the chance. Additionally, while he does have his fear of thunder under control, typically he will be startled by it and then quickly regain composure to show he is not weak. He feels that if he shows weakness, he will be abandoned, so he keeps himself calm and maintained.

Strengths:

  • Emotional self-control
  • Athletic
  • Vitality

Weaknesses: (At least three)

  • Blunt
  • Eremophobia
  • Tonitrophobia

Biography:

Leo's actual birth date and location are unknown to both himself and everyone that knows him. Abandoned as a newborn baby in a park, Leo was found and adopted by Rita and Michelangelo on April 16 1988, which was later decided on to be his birthday. For the first few years of his life Leo was an only child and enjoyed all the attention he received from his parents. By the age of four though his younger brother was born and the attention had to be split between the two. At first he was upset, but he quickly grew to love Cameron and they became the closest of friends. Growing up out in the country side didn't give Leo many friends to play with since his family owned a farm 30 miles away from the closest city, and to add to his exclusion from society he was home schooled with his brother. He would often help on the farm by doing manual labor, and the family was able to get on by with their lives without really seeing anyone else except for a few travelers on occasion.

Leo was content with his life on the farm where he was able to learn guitar and relax whenever the farm needed no tending until the age of 17. On his 17th birthday, his parents told him that they were not related and he was adopted. While the idea of being adopted did not bother Leo, he was upset at the thought of someone not caring about him enough to be his parent. His adopted parents told him that the guitar he carries was left with him in the park he was found in, giving him his only lead to who his parents are. He decided that day that he would go across the world to track down his biological parents, and after a year of waiting, he left home to go and get a starter Pokemon. After traveling a few days, he was able to obtain the starter Pokemon Mudkip and they began their journey.

After five years of traveling, Leo was able to catch three other Pokemon and they started their own little family together since they were all so close. Going across Crescious, Sippnh, and Fluor, he was unsuccessful at finding any information about his biological parents. He has no idea who they even are, be it famous or poor and misfortuned, but he is determined to learn. Throughout his journey though he met enough interesting characters to make him interested in becoming a Pokemon professor just to know what causes Pokemon to like their trainers and be willing to obey their commands. While he hasn't made much of a name for himself in battling, those who have heard his music never forget it.

So begins...

Sofia wasn’t expecting anyone to come after her, much less Leo. She fully expected the boys to forget she was there (at best) and heal up before they figured out what they were to do next. So when Leo came up and sat down next to her…

”Sofia? Hey, are you okay?” Leo asked her, then placed his hand on her shoulder. his hand on her shoulder.
Sofia flinched when he did so, but let him ramble (his coughs made Sofia feel even worse.) She should have started giving him rescue breaths, after stabilizing the girl, and-

She didn’t expect him to start singing, not in the least.

Sofia fought to stop crying quickly. It was bad enough that he’d seen her run, but crying? She hated being seen when she cried. Her siblings had seen her cry once, maybe twice? It wasn’t something she liked to do in front of other people.

”You shouldn't have to do this," Sofia said quietly in the silence that followed. "You hardly know me, and besides that, it's not your job to deal with shit like this." That was her job. Drier of tears, bandager of knees, healer of bruised egos: all in Sofia's job description. (Almost quite literally.) "You've dealt with a sight more stress today than I have, and yet look at me. I'm a damn mess." She laughed quietly, but not without humor. "If my mother were here I'd probably end up with a bar of soap in my mouth, what with how much I've been cursing." Sofia had stopped her crying at this point. It was likely she'd start again later, but she was fine for now.

"Are you doing okay?" Sofia asked, changing the subject. She sat straighter against the wall, adjusting her legs into a criss cross applesauce position. "You're clearly suffering from smoke inhalation, and you did take a good hit to the head..." Always good to worry about someone else to take the focus off yourself; it helped Sofia to calm down before focusing on herself.

Leo heard Sofia's sobs coming from next to him after his song finished. He understood better than anyone that showing any sort of weakness does nothing but make the person feel public opinion around them was lowered. He couldn't help but watch as her pride seem to slick off of her like wax from a lit candle, ebbing away until the candle was put out.

”You shouldn't have to do this, you hardly know me, and besides that, it's not your job to deal with shit like this."

Leo set his guitar down on its canvas case, careful not not damage it in any way. Instead of turning towards Sofia, he turned towards the sky and just started to look up. He took out a guitar pick from his pocket and started to roll it between his fingers as he tried to have a lighthearted expression on his face. "Well, it never is anyone's job to be honest. The way I see it there are two kinds of people in this world: there are those who pretend life goes on without issues and never look them in the face to begin with; and there are those who know life isn't perfect and reach out to provide support to those who need it. So what if I hardly know you? You at least deserve to have someone be your rock every now and then."

"You've dealt with a sight more stress today than I have, and yet look at me. I'm a damn mess."

"So what? That doesn't mean you're a horrible person in any remarks. To be honest I think you are a caring person; so you kinda broke when there was a situation where you couldn't help everyone you saw. I could just be making an ass of myself here by assuming, but that's what I believe." Leo chuckled at his last statement, and then he laughed at the image of a bar of soap in Sofia's mouth. He didn't know why he was laughing, but he couldn't help it. Maybe because he was happy that she regained a little sense of humor now.

"Are you doing okay? "You're clearly suffering from smoke inhalation, and you did take a good hit to the head..."

Leo pocketed the pick he was playing with and looked back towards Sofia. She seemed to have finally calmed down, allowing Leo to at least not feel bad if he looked at her. "The police man that I woke up to said I was fine for the most part. No concussions and just a little cough. As long as I don't think about it I should be alright." He felt the patch on his forehead from where he hit the cobblestone ground, wincing at the pressure he put on it. "Then again, I also kinda ran away from them when they weren't looking... soooooooo I could just be some idiot or something along those lines." Leo chuckled again, giving her a smile to show that he was just being there for her.

Leo came at a loss for things to say though... giving him a feeling of awkwardness. He didn't have Ray to give him signals of what was right and wrong to say and he never was really ever alone with a person before. This was weird to him, but he tried not to show it. "We should probably check up on Ricky... make sure he's fine... right?"

Sofia rubbed at her eyes to get rid of the few tears that remained on her face. Leo was being far too good to her, considering what she’d done mere minutes ago. She hated having to rely on someone else (especially someone as new to her as this) for emotional support… But she’d needed it bad, and might again later. And he was trying so hard not to be awkward, too. What a good guy. He had such a nice laugh, too.

Of course, she was a bit mad at him for ditching the paramedics. ”You are an idiot!” she laughed after he told her. ”If you weren’t already injured…” She was glad that he was okay. Even though his awkwardness was kind of showing. Maybe that was why he always had Ray with him? Speaking of beings whose names start with the letter R… where was Ricky?

Leo got to it before Sofia could. "We should probably check up on Ricky... make sure he's fine... right?"
”Yes, definitely a good idea. He’s probably wondering where we are, huh? I need to make sure he’s okay, too.” Sofia stood up, wobbling a bit when she got up. She’d stood up too fast. Oh well. ”Bluh! Definitely need to cook tonight. It’s been one of those days,” she said to herself as she shook her head free of the black fuzzies.
Before she forgot to, though…

”Hey, Leo? Thanks. It meant a lot to me.” Sofia didn’t specify what. She wasn’t sure herself what, honestly. ”Just… thank you.” Sofia smiled softly. She wished she had her sunglasses right now. They were with her stuff back at the scene. Hopefully.

”Now, come on! Let’s go find Ricky!” And with that, they were off to find their other friend, who was hopefully in as good a condition as Leo. Considering the scene, though...

Nope, Sofia was sure he was going to be okay! Right? Right!

And if not, she hadn't used much of her kit.

As Leo put his guitar back into its case and slung it over his shoulder, he felt it was necessary to get Ray back out into the open again. Ray never liked his Pokeball and was only in it when forced to; and in this case it was probably the paramedics who put him back just out of consideration.

Ray came out of the light in a majestic flash and flew around in the air, happy to be free from his prison. After a few circles in the air he landed on Leos shoulder with a pleased expression that Leo was still fine. "Good to see ya pal. I'm happy to say I'm as healthy as can be." Ray gave a pleasant caw in response and gave a little nibble to his ear.

"”Hey, Leo? Thanks. It meant a lot to me.”"
Leo didn't know how to respond to this. He'd never been thanked in this kind of context before. He couldn't describe the feeling he had inside of him when she said it. Proud? Satisfied? Whatever it was it made him feel good. "Yeah, same to you. If you ever need to talk just call me over."

As the duo walked out from the alley, Leo kept replaying the conversation they just had in his head. Normally by this point he would be abandoned by whoever he was with because he was seen as annoying. What'd he do differently? He was honest with what he said, just as usual. He was lost in thought as they walked together, making occasional glances over towards Sofia trying to analyze her again. Why was she so different? Ray made occasional pecks at his head if he lingered too long looking at her as well. The last thing he needed to be was creepy.

When they arrived at the scene of the crime, most of they bystanders and paramedics had left. There were still several groups of cops roaming around the scene of the crime, gathering any and all evidence they could on who was the cause of this. Before Leo even noticed, Ray flew off from his shoulder straight towards Ricky. Something was going on over there and Ray was obviously worried.

"Hey Ricky! What's going on?" Leo yelled as he jogged over to the young man. Before Leo yelled again though, Ray came flying back to him and started to flutter his wings in Leo's face. This both slowed Leo down and shut him up, considering Ray never does this unless he needed to be quiet. As soon as Ray moved from in front of his face, Leo saw Ricky embracing a bloodied Ponyta. In a whisper, he motioned over to Sofia saying, "Hey, you have any idea what's going on here? Where did this Ponyta come from?"

Ricky smiled again as the ponyta began calming down. That was better. "See? I'm not a bad guy." He said further. Petting her mane gently. He heard his name shouted, it was Leo! Though he was half worried that the sudden shouting might undo his attempts to calm the ponyta, he was rather glad that the result was an intimidating flair rather than something more substantial.

Looking over his shoulder at them, Ricky held out his hand for them to slow down and take it easy. He didn't want to spook her,"Don't worry, these are my friends. They won't hurt you either. And they do not need to come over here if you do not wish them too. Now I got to fix you up, you have bled a lot and you are tired, the sooner I fix you up, the sooner you will feel better. Now just relax."

He removed her hands from her head and reached down to his fanny pack and checked inside to see what he had to work with. He had the basics crammed inside, but he was low on his potions and hadn't yet had the chance to restock before this happened. He had enough to make due for now. Setting the spray bottle down, he pulled out a spool of black thread and a needle. For when his pokemon got lacerations such as these to help them heal faster. The thread specialized for an electric pokemon, but it should still stand up to heat.

Sofia knew exactly where the colorful Ponyta had come from, and at the sight of it she blanched a little. It belonged to that girl that had gotten shot. She wasn't going anywhere near that Pokemon, not in a million years. Too much guilt, and besides, Flora was terrified of fire.

"I, ah, think it belongs to the girl that got shot..." Sofia murmured to Leo. She flinched when the Ponyta flared up. Calm down, girl, it wasn't your fault, no one's mad at you. Well, except for yourself. And maybe everyone involved.

Ricky looked pretty proficient with cleaning up the colorful Ponyta, which Sofia was surprised about. She wouldn't have pegged him as that type of Trainer. (Not that she thought he was a bad trainer, mind. She didn't think he would have taken that part of the course since it was optional. At least, any time she'd taken the course it had been for Trainers.) He didn't look like he needed any help.

"If you guys don't mind, I probably need to make a call, since word of this will definitely spread quickly." If news of this spread quickly (and it probably would, considering that a couple of reporters were already on the scene) her mother would, to say the least, be very worried. Plus she needed to get away from the scene, maybe cook a bit to calm down. Something like that. "If you guys want to meet up, I'll probably be at the Inn, so just ask for me and they should tell you where I am or where I'll be." Sofia found her bag (everything was there still, thankfully) and resituated it on her back. She needed to check up on her Pokemon, too. They'd been awfully quiet... Now, where was that Inn?

Once Sofia mentioned that it was the colorful Ponyta was the girl they saw earlier in the evening, Leo felt his stomach take a dive. Being abandoned on purpose hurts, but being left without any indication of what happened or why is the absolute worst feeling to have. The poor girl was probably forgotten by the medics as they took her trainer away, leaving her scared and alone without any sign of what to do.

Ricky's introduction shined some hope onto the situation for her though. He showed that he was willing to at least show care for her and not leave her without a second thought; and the fact Ricky would be willing to suffer through the agitation of her flames made him all the more admirable. Plus, to add to Leo's surprise, he was impressed that Ricky was able to patch her up as well as he could. He would never be able to do that in a million years.

"Hey there girl, I'm Leo, and this here is Ray..." Leo spoke in a soft voice, slowly walking towards her. Ray rested on his shoulder, softly staring at the Ponyta. The duo tried to be as soothing as they could be as they approached her, Leo extending his hand in an inviting manor.

At Sofia's mentioning of leaving, Leo figured it was best to let her go and do what she wanted to. It was private business that should be left to only herself. "I'll definitely try to catch up to you later then. I think I'll stick with Ricky a bit and help him out."

While he was sad to see her walk off, Leo was at least happy that he had Ricky next to him, even if it was for some wrong reasons. "Hey, what do you think we should do with her? Wouldn't it be best to find her trainer?"

Ricky had plenty of experience patching up pokemon. He had been a trainer for some years now, and had a fair share of losses under his belt, which resulted in a fair share of injuries he had to take care of. He wasn't the greatest trainer out there, but his pokemon's enthusiasm matched his own 'give it your all' mentality. And Ricky loved his pokemon, they were his foundation and Ricky worked hard for them. Learning how to patch them up was one such way of showing he cared. Just because Ricky looked like a slacker, didn't mean he was one.

Bites and cuts were relatively easy to take care of, though these were a good bit more ferocious than what he was used to. It was still the same basic concept. Using all the potion, he sprayed the solution onto the wounds to clean it and help speed the healing, as well the anesthetics in it would also help relieve the pain to lessen her suffering as he worked in stitching her up. He was sitting crosslegged as he worked, with the ponyta's injured leg propped up on his own to give it more comfort than the cold hard ground... The thread should hold up to the heat well enough, though he would still need to keep an eye on it just in case. Once he got the wounds closed, he felt much more comfortable that they would heal up with little to know permanent physical damage. Using his wet tank top, which had been cleaned from Monty's washing, he began to clean the ponyta up. Speaking gentle things to her as he worked to help keep her in a calm state of mind.

Sophia was leaving them? Oh... well Ricky would be sure to find her later. He could understand she had it rough as well. Though it would be selfish of him to ask her to wait on him. He would certainly go and check on her after this. But right now the ponyta was a more pressing matter, "I'll definitely meet you there, Sophie." He said with a small smile, one that he held throughout his stitching. He didn't realize when he said it, but he hoped she didn't mind her calling her a familiar Sophie instead of Sophia.

By the time he was done, Ricky was covered in blood, but he didn't seem to mind at all. He was trying not to think about it. "This is just to start her on the path of healing. These bites ain't gonna heal overnight. We need to take her somewhere she can rest and where I can clean her up properly. Should the potion do its job, she will be able to walk on it tomorrow with a bit of TLC." At the last question, Ricky gave a sad sigh."She got shot, Leo... There is only one place they would have taken her. And likelyhood is they be working on her right now. We'll ask around while the paramedics are here, they will at least be able to give us a location of the hospital. But until she is stable, I don't see them giving strangers visiting rights to a girl in critical condition. If that ends up being the case, I will see if I can watch her at the Inn where Sophie is staying, if not then I will carry her back to the breeding center." He said, he didn't exactly have the funds to pay lodgings at the moment. Hadn't had a chance to earn anything yet. He had been planning on sleeping in an alley somewhere, but the ponyta needed shelter.

”My friend is my life, and my life belongs to my friend. Nobody will ever stand between me and my friend.”

Era listened to all that was said, and she relaxed herself knowing that she would soon be with her beloved Xia again. But there was one issue that presented itself to her, and that was the fact that she couldn't stand up yet. How would she remain by Xia's side properly if she couldn't stand or walk around? How would she battle with her? What if her leg didn't heal properly? What if something went wrong? What if the bite from that Growlithe had infected her with something?

These questions began to make her heart rate spike, but she managed to get it under control after repeating to herself in her mind that she would be with Xia again. Once she and Xia were together, everything would be okay.

"She got shot, Leo... There is only one place they would have taken her. And likelyhood is they be working on her right now. We'll ask around while the paramedics are here, they will at least be able to give us a location of the hospital. But until she is stable, I don't see them giving strangers visiting rights to a girl in critical condition. If that ends up being the case, I will see if I can watch her at the Inn where Sophie is staying, if not then I will carry her back to the breeding center."

Leo grimaced at Ricky's comment. The tone of his voice was nothing but heavy - not the energetic noise maker that he was just earlier in the day. Leo actually couldn't remember much about what happened to the girl that got shot besides the pool of blood he apparently was soaked in when the paramedics pulled him away. Was her condition that devastating? Could she be dying and leave this poor Pokemon to its own devices? All alone? Abandoned...?

Leo clenched his fists as his mind began to spiral out of control. Maybe it was because of the Ponyta's worried and distraught expressions while around complete strangers. It could have also been the images of burning Pokemon corpses as they got caught in the rubble and flames during the disaster... leaving their trainers abandoned without even saying goodbye. Tears began to swell up in his eyes as he visualized dozens of trainers breaking down because of the news... smashing their fists against walls... screaming at the top of their lungs with anger and frustration... wailing like lost children...

Lost...... Alone........ Abandoned.................

Leo began to shake where he stood, fingernails digging into his palm and tears boiling in his eyes. He began to mutter, "Abandoned... abandoned... left alone without even being told why..." He bit his lip, drawing blood from the force he applied. He didn't even wince though, just continued to get more riled up. The more he looked towards the Ponyta - with its bruises, cuts, and stiches - the more he let his emotions go out of control. His mind began to cloud over and he only had one goal set in his mind.

Find that girl, make sure she is alive, and tell her that her Ponyta is in their care.

By this point Ray flew off Leo's shoulder and towards Ricky, terrified of what was overcoming Leo. He had never dealt with Leo in such a over reactive state before; and he could tell he was losing it just by the aura around him. In short, Ray was nothing short of helpless and confused on how to take care of his best friend and was hoping Ricky could provide assistance.

As Leo's mind continued to descend down the Buneary hole, flashes of old memories flooded in to crowed his mental space with the new ones. Thoughts on his 18th birthday about finding out he was never wanted in the first place; or how constantly throughout his travels he was used as a money making scheme by others then quickly ditched because no one like him; and even how he would spend every night he was away from someone sobbing. A small, helpless Leo in his head kept getting pounded with negative image after negative image until he became nothing but dust.

And that's when he broke.

Leo screamed at the top of his lungs, tears now streaming down his red eyes. He slung his guitar off his back and chucked it into Ricky's arms and sprinted away from the center - from everyone - because he needed to reaffirm everyone that no one was going to leave anyone. He had seen the direction that ambulances were going, carrying both Pokemon and people alike since the Center was destroyed.

As his feet clocked against the concrete, he felt his heart try to jump out of his chest and run away to never return. What if she wasn't alright? How would he break it to that poor Ponyta? As he became lost in a sea of distraught thoughts, he proceeded to get more lost, taking him about forty minutes to arrive at the hospital's emergency ward's front door.

As the doors slowly slid open as he sprinted through the small sliver open in the center, he bumped into an older gentleman in scrubs, obviously working at the facility. Leo payed no mind to him though and pushed him into the way as he ran across the pure white tile to the receptionist desk located in the center of the long hallway. Barely anyone was in the hallways at this time of night, and doctors were all preoccupied with surgery that Leo was basically alone. There was a young and feisty looking girl working at the front desk, furiously rifling through papers to file them correctly.

Without even looking up to glance at Leo, she was so abosrbed in her work that she barely paid him any kindness. In her most monotone and uncaring voice, she told him as she filed through papers, "I'm sorry sir but visiting hours are over. You can check back in tomorrow at 8:00AM. Thank yo-"

Leo slammed his fists down on the wooden counter between the two, interrupting her mid speech. His voice was so fueled in rage that it made her look up in shock. "I don't give a fuck! You need to tell me right now where the girl that got shot is!"

The receptionist riled back a little from the shocking tone and words coming from the rather polite and kind looking man. She began to tremble where she was sitting, all fierceness she possibly could have left her in an instant. "I-I-I don't kn-know where sh-sh-she could be... She's pr-probably in surgery so y-y-you shouldn't go i-i-in."

Leo slammed his fist again, making the receptionist shriek in terror. "Where the hell is that room?" Leo's eyes were red and swollen, his lip was starting to swell and he had dried blood in the corner of his mouth.

The receptionist noticed this finally and shrank to nothing. She pointed over to a hallway on her right and said "Room th-th-thirty o-o-one." Leo sprinted off down it, making a beeline for the room. As he made the twists and turns down the hallway, shoving carts and wheelchairs over as he passed them, he only became more determined to tell the breeder about her Pokemon.

As he was making the final turns though, he was yanked away from his goal by a Machamp. Using two of its four arms to constrain Leo's squirming, he was brought back to the front desk where the receptionist was looking sullen. She had obviously sent the Pokemon after him because of the dangers he could cause if he made it into the operation room. Without looking him in the eye she, she spoke sternly and with composure once more. "I'm sorry sir, but as much as I can see that you need to speak to that girl, it's just too dangerous. I know whatever you have to tell her is important, but now is not the time. When the doctors finish up in there they can tell you her condition and you can tell them what you need to say. She probably won't be allowed visitors anytime soon... especially someone who hasn't even said her name." She motioned over to a row of couches along the wall to her left. "You can stay here until they come out."

Leo's passion and fire died away as she spoke to him. Somehow her cold voice but honest words brought realism back to his life. He would be the cause of abandonment for that poor Ponyta if he rushed in there at the wrong moment. As he stopped struggling, the Machamp slowly lowered him down and went back into a side room marked Security.

Leo wasn't able to look up at the woman either now, the two of them avoiding each other's gazes. "...I'm sorry... and thank you." Leo quietly said these things as he dragged himself over to the couches where he laid down and stared at the ceiling. He just realized that he left most of his stuff with Ricky, including Ray.

He felt like shit.

As Ray flew over to him, Ricky was beginning to notice something was wrong. Then came the rather shocking series of events as Leo seemed to go crazy. The screaming nearly scared the hell out of Ricky, and it was a good thing that he was done using the needle. He turned his body just barely in time to catch the guitar as it was thrown at him. It had all happened so fast that Ricky had didn't have time to lend the assistance that Ray was hoping he would.

The scream... that look in Leo's eyes and those tears. Making even his own pokemon uncomfortable, ditching everything then running away. What just happened? Ricky was rather stunned at this change of demeanor. Was it something he said? He tried to call to his friend, but it did not seem to do any good as he ran off in his mania. "What the hell was that?" Ricky asked looking at Ray. With everything going on, this was getting hard to comprehend. Ricky would have to hunt the boy down.

The amount of distress that Leo seemed to be under, Ricky didn't want to let him be on his own. But there was not much he could do with the injured ponyta he needed to look after. Clicking the button on one of his pokeballs, his jolteon appeared from it's containment. "Leo ran off, buddy. He went that way. Use that sniffer of yours and track him down, just make sure that he don't get hurt or nothin' just to be safe. He went thatta'way." Ricky said. Louie nodded in understanding, Leo seemed like a nice kid, with that Louie sped off in a flash with his nose to the ground to do his best to track down on Leo's scent, which would eventually lead him to the hospital.

Ricky had to stay behind, but he trusted Louie as an extra hand. And right now Ricky needed a few extra hands. He looked at Ray and reached out to touch him,"Don't worry little buddy, Leo will be just fine. Probably just needed to clear his head. I'll make sure we find him soon. You okay with hanging with me for a wee bit? It's just been a stressful day. Things will get better once we all calm down." He said to the bird, though the last part more for himself.

With the ponyta patched up and cleaned up, Ricky let it rest for a little while as he asked the paramedics in the area about the hospital and the girl. The answer to the latter was as he expected, taken to critical care at the hospital. The directions were simple enough, but it was far enough across town that he would make slow progress.

He looked down at himself, and he looked a sight... Standing there bare chested with His pants being stained a dark crimson from kneeling in the blood to help Era, his tank top was soaked and blood stained with a few char marks from the fire that had fallen on him. Even that jacket and bandana of his was splotched with red. His bluish hair was soaked and matted down, with his bangs getting in his eyes. Ricky looked like he had just murdered someone. But he wiped his bloody hands on his jacket anyway to clean them off.

He crouched down again beside the ponyta. "I know where your girl is. We can go find her. But you need to take it easy on that leg. You would be better off resting in your pokeball," He said as he held it out to show it to her,"But I understand if you don't want to. If you want to walk, it should be fine as long as you keep your weight off it, I will help you up and will be right beside you to help hold you up while we go. Either way, we will make it there together."

Whichever path that the ponyta was more comfortable with, Ricky would stay true to what he said and help her along. With Leo's gear under one of his arms as well. Due to his burns he wasn't about to sling anything over his shoulders. Playing the role of a beast of burden, they had all made their way to the hospital, where Louie was waiting outside. It looked like Leo was here. Thankfully, Louie would helpfully carry some of the things that had been in Ricky's arm.

Upon entering the sliding doors, Ray would immediately spot Leo laying on the couch where he would hurried fly over to him. Yet there was a slight moment of hesitation as he worried that Leo might still be in the mood, but that fear quickly passed and the fire bird was soon squawking in Leo's face, having been very worried in his absence."What the hell-fire was that about buddy?" Ricky asked, in a more worried tone than angry."Ya know, we were really worried about you... Did you come here to check on the girl?"

Leo's head was hurting beyond belief now; the thumping in his forehead where he hit the ground seemed to have escalated with all the panic he caused himself. Every time he tried to close his eyes the pain would beat against his eyelids until they shot open again. He wouldn't let himself look at the receptionist though since he was ashamed about his actions from earlier; so he rolled up to look at the ceiling.

He never noticed how nice the ceiling looked when he rushed into the building. A beautiful concave glass roof was pointing towards the sky, allowing the soft night sky and dim stars shine through to him. All the stars seemed so united and together that nothing could ever separate them.

And then there was the couch - oh the couch. If Leo's head wasn't pounding he would have fallen asleep in an instant in its blue embrace. The warm feeling it was giving him was slowly brightening up his mood from the sorrowful and upset one he had earlier, but wasn't going to win over that easily.

Leo thought about grabbing his guitar to play something just to cheer him up, but then he realized he left it with Ricky. In fact, he left everything with him. He felt like a jerk now, making someone he just met babysit his things. He made a mental note to apologize profusely when he saw him again just in an attempt to make it up to him - he would even offer to buy him whatever he wanted for the next week; no month!

Leo's thoughts swam with ways to fix whatever he saw was broken with Ricky when Ray flew up into his face with an extremely worried expression across his face. Leo was both happily surprised and saddened by his pal flying in front of him. He was happy that he was showing so much concern for someone who just shoved him off; but he was upset that he shoved him away and terrified him in the first place. Leo put on a forced smile and extended his left arm so Ray could land on it. "Hey buddy, I'm sorry about that. I owe you an explanation later." While Ray still was upset that Leo ran off like he did, he calmed down and showed signs of forgiveness to Leo by nibbling on his ear.

"What the hell-fire was that about buddy? Ya know, we were really worried about you... Did you come here to check on the girl?"

Leo sat up when he heard the familiar voice. He turned to see Ricky carrying all of his gear with a worried expression on his face. Leo couldn't help but feel bad when he saw the burn victim be the animal of burden with everything that he had - but he was able to force a smile out when he looked him in the eyes. He couldn't let Ricky see the turmoil in his mind, it isn't even that bad. He was raised from birth by an adopted family, so why freak out anyway? "Hey Ricky, I must look like shit huh?" Leo looked down at his blood soaked clothes and cut lip. He knew his eyes weren't as agitated, but still looked a little red."I couldn't help but sit around while you did all the work, so I figured I might as well run off to find her to tell her what was going on with her Ponyta, that's all. Both of them really deserve to know at least how the other is doing - isn't that fair?"

Leo took his things from Ricky and set them down on the floor next to him and gave a signal for Ricky to sit down. He put on his singed over shirt and heaved a sigh. He was having an internal debate about telling Ricky what really was going on in his head or not, but decided it wasn't the best time for him to know. "I'm doing fine now, don't worry about me. We got a few hours by the looks of it, so we might as well make ourselves comfy. We should probably tell Sofia where we are though as so not to worry her and all." Glancing at the clock on the opposite wall he saw it was only about 11 PM. He knew he wouldn't leave his spot no matter what until she came out all fixed up.

"My Breeding Center is my life now, and caring for Pokémon has become my ultimate passion in life. But now I am being exposed to a new level of evil, and I'm not sure whether or not I will have what it takes to make a difference."

”My friend is my life, and my life belongs to my friend. Nobody will ever stand between me and my friend.”

In the waiting room were a pair of younger gentlemen waiting to hear if Xia Leingod had survived her injuries. And through the hallway nearby emerged a doctor at around 1am a couple of hours after they arrived. He addressed the receptionist, who pointed out that the two boys were here to see the girl or at least find out about what had happened. The doctor approached them.

"Excuse me, but are you two here about miss Xia Leingod?" He asked.

With the positive response, the doctor took off his face mask and let out a sigh.

"Well, she has survived her injury but is, as you might guess, in critical condition. Her left lung had collapsed shortly before surgery began, which complicated the procedure. Her heart is fine, thankfully, and the bullet missed it by mere fractions of an inch. We managed to re-inflate her lung and clear it of blood and other fluids, but she's still on a breathing apparatus as she cannot breathe on her own right now. Because of this, we cannot allow any visitors for several days until her condition improves." He said sadly.

Sofia felt far better after the call home, to the point where she actually felt like getting something done. Productivity!

First on the list, she washed her dirty clothes (and the shorts she’d been wearing today) in the sink with some of her laundry soap she carried with her. Afterwards, she read one of the books that had been left by a previous tenant while the clothes were drying. (It was pretty good. She never was a big reader, but she did enjoy stories about Dragon types and unruly princes and princesses. Those were always funny.) Sofia let her Pokemon back out, and they relaxed and goofed around with her. She thought about taking a nap, but she was far too wired still for that. Plus, she really wanted to avoid another round of nightmares. These would probably be worse, based on the events of the evening. Sofia planned on staying up as late as possible.
After the clothes dried, she went ahead and took a shower, and put on a grey v-neck (Dunmetaal Swimming all the way!) and some forest green shorts. She was starting to feel a lot better than she was earlier. Sure, Sofia still felt guilty, but at least her mind was off of it for now.

Until she noticed the time, that is.

”Is it really already eleven at night?” Sofia wondered aloud. She’d had the lights on the entire time, so she hadn’t noticed the sun set. Most of her Pokemon were already asleep; Gideon and Samson were passed out on the floor next to Calla, and Flora had claimed the couch. Antimony was still awake, keeping Sofia company.

”C’mon, girl. Let’s go check with front desk to see if Leo and Ray have been by.” Sofia grabbed her wallet, keys, and Pokeballs, then proceeded to go downstairs with Antimony. The front desk was empty, as should have been expected. It was getting close to midnight, and nearly no one should be up at the time. Except for doctors and nurses. Where had Leo and Ricky said they were going, exactly?

”Well, Antimony, it looks as though we’re making a midnight run to the hospital,” Sofia told the Gardevoir. Yes, it was late, no, she wasn’t changing her mind. She needed to go check on the guys. Unless they weren’t there..?
No, they said they would be by later, so they must have stopped to take in that Ponyta and check on that girl. Otherwise they would definitely have been here by now, for sure.

The walk to the hospital was actually calm and lovely. The stars were out in full force, hardly obstructed by the scattered streetlamps. No one else was out, save for Sofia and Antimony. It was a beautiful night, for such an awful evening. The lights in the hospital were still on as they approached it, and they went inside.

”Excuse me, ma’am? I’m looking for two gentlemen, around my age? One looks almost like a Typhlosion and the other should be carrying a guitar? I’m here to make sure they get home safely.” Sofia asked the receptionist. That wasn't exactly a lie, per se, but she still felt a little bad telling a half truth to the receptionist.

”Ah, the two here for Xia Leingod? They’re waiting outside Room Thirty-One. You’re welcome to come collect them, so long as you don’t try to go into the room.” The lady probably just wanted all non-personnel and non-patients out of the building, considering visiting ended a good, what, five hours ago? It was already about one, anyways. The receptionist pointed down a hallway.

”Thank you!” Sofia thanked her and walked down the hallway with Antimony. She managed to overhear the tail end of what she assumed to be the girl’s (Xia. She had- has a name.) doctor’s explanation of what happened as Sofia rounded the corner.

”.. she's still on a breathing apparatus as she cannot breathe on her own right now. Because of this, we cannot allow any visitors for several days until her condition improves," the doctor said sadly. That poor girl…

”Hey, Leo, Ricky,” Sofia said as she saw them with the doctor. (Mew, she was so glad to see them. She’d started worrying especially hard as she’d approached the hospital as to whether they’d be there.) ”As much as I hate to say it, it’s pretty late, and you guys look like you need a shower and some rest.” They looked like absolute crap. Ricky was covered in blood (not his own, thankfully) and Leo looked like he’d had a meltdown. The poor things… Sofia was definitely letting them have the bed and the couch. She liked sleeping on the floor anyways. Even if the room would be a bit crowded… No, she was pretty sure she’d be fine. ”Let’s go ahead and go to the Inn. We can check up on her tomorrow after breakfast.”

Ricky sighed as he sat down on the chair that Leo had gestured at. This was proving to be a long day, and it was starting to wear on him.He was getting tired. Ricky scratched his head as he looked at Leo as he made the comment about looking like shit. "You and me both, brother." He said."If you say so, Leo. That was still kind of a wild thing to do, ya know? You coulda let me in the loop at least, and maybe done without that heartfelt war cry. But ain't no biggy, no harm no foul." He assured with a smile.

"I know what you mean, though. Yeah that would be needing someone to be holding onto once she wakes up. I know I would. There was more to say, however the doctor came to deliver the news about then. It looked like Ricky had made it just on time. As the doctor inquired of their purpose here, Ricky nodded his head in affirmation. And as the report was given, it was about the news that Ricky had expected to hear. Along the lines of not being able to see her right away. And to Ricky, this was good news. Xia was alive.

Ricky stood up and procured the pokeball that contained the resting ponyta,"This is her pokemon. Somehow someone overlooked her. I did what I could to help her, and someone needs to keep an eye on her wounds to make sure they heal right, and could you please see that she is returned to Miss Leingod. She is very distraught, and I am sure it would calm her in knowing that her owner is okay."He explained, and handed the pokeball to the doctor. "Thank ya for letting us know. It puts a weight off our shoulders knowing that she is alive. And we understand the situation," or at least Ricky did about not being able to see her right away.

It was good to know that the ponyta would be taken care of in a more appropriate environment. And though he did feel responsible for the Ponyta, it was (probably) for the best, this way the ponyta would be much sooner be able to meet with Xia once she had awoken and inquired about her missing pokemon.

And then Sophia came. Thank goodness. "You be looking a lot better, Sophie. How you feeling?" He asked of her with a smile, to try and show he didn't feel as much of absolute crap as he looked. He looked down at himself as the subject was brought up, yeah, he was a right mess. "Shower? Oh, I just figured I would find a creek or river or something to jump into. But yeah, there is not really much else we can do here for now. And rest sounds some really good right now."

Leo felt bad for not letting Ricky fully understand what went on inside his head as he sat down next to him. It's hard to be honest with someone when you have crippling insecurities about them leaving. If he said something remotely wrong - poof he'd be all alone again. Not exactly the easiest thing to have going on in his head, but he was willing to set it to the side for the sake of normalcy again.

When the doctor approached the duo and spoke about Xia's current condition, Leo's heart felt a mountain move off of it and it gave him a sort of peace of mind - especially since Ricky also returned the Ponyta to her. Now that those two were at least together and had some knowledge that they were together (despite one being in a coma and the other in a ball) just through their presence.

Sofia's arrival allowed Leo's mind to make a complete return to what he normally was, and he was perfectly happy and fine with that. Her presence along with Ricky's really comforted him and encouraged him to make a push to get out of such a depressing atmosphere. "Hey Sofia, we must look like night and day standing together considering how we all look right now, huh?" Leo chuckled at his half-joke. "Yeah, we should probably get some rest considering the amount of stress we experienced today, all things considered, so let's go."

Leo led the group out of the hospital and onto the streets. He had no clue where they were staying, but he just wanted to escape the stuffy, depressing atmosphere that was the hospital. Leo patted down his pockets and found his money. After counting what was in his wallet, he came to the conclusion it was more than enough to at least get both him and Ricky their own individual rooms if he wanted. Could be cheaper sharing just one, but he didn't want to put Sofia through the awkwardness of sharing a room with two guys. "Hey Sofia... I don't know where I'm going at this point so could you possibly take the lead? I'm not too good with finding places I've never been before."

Leo also came to the decision that he should probably reaffirm his Pokemon that he was alright and everything was good. With Ray already out, he reached down for his other three Pokeballs. As he grabbed Tenzin and Elise's Pokeballs, he decided not to grab the other one. He wasn't willing to deal with him today since he'd cause only more trouble in the town. With the press of the buttons, both the Bronzor and Marshtomp came out of the light and immediately came running to their trainer. The immediately came over to him with worried expressions plastered across their faces. Leo placed both hands on their heads and pulled them into his arms, smiling the entire time. "It's alright guys, everything is OK now. We are going to go get some shut-eye and then be out in the morning. Sound good?"

Sofia smiled warmly at her two companions. She was glad they still accepted her. ”Doing a fair bit better than I was earlier, Ricky. And yeah, just a bit.” Ricky was still covered in blood, and Leo seemed to be missing some clothes. (They were on the floor next to him. Why, she didn’t know. She hoped it wasn’t anything too bad, but…)

She blanched a bit at Ricky’s idea of getting clean, but understood where he was coming from. She’d been there before (even though she had plenty in savings she hated using any of it on herself) but it was still better to shower. Especially when covered in something as thick as blood.

With that lovely thought planted in her head, the group followed Leo out the hospital.

“Hey Sofia... I don't know where I'm going at this point so could you possibly take the lead? I'm not too good with finding places I've never been before." Leo asked her, somewhat sheepishly.

”Of course. And if you guys need to, I don’t mind sharing a room. Last I checked, no one was at the front desk, so it might be hard to get another room at this hour anyways,” Sofia told them as she led the boys and various Pokemon back to the Inn. She didn’t mind sharing a room at all. There was one year in high school that she and a couple of boys had qualified to go an inter-regional meet, and they’d mixed up the hotel rooms so that there were only two. And, since district had policy on non-related adults being in the same hotel room as teenagers, the boys had to share the room with Sofia. It was a three day trip.

They were kind enough to rotate who ended up on the bed, the sofa, and the floor/bathtub/chair.

It probably didn’t hurt that Sofia could have easily taken them (one was a sprinter, and the other a breaststroker. She might have been able to take both, although that was dicey.)

So, she had few problems with sharing a room with Ricky and Leo, especially since it saved them all money in the long run. Plus, both of them looked like they needed a good breakfast, some tea (Or coffee. She didn’t judge.), and a good shower. And Sofia’s room had a good shower… with clothes still drying. Crap. She’d have to get those out before anyone went in.

”But it’s up to you guys. As much as you two need it, I won’t force you to take up my offer.” Sofia turned her head to look back at the boys. Antimony was trailing a bit behind, with a sleepy look in her eyes.

”C’mon, girl, we’re almost there. Just a bit further and we can sleep, okay?” The Gardevoir nodded and jogged up to walk with her. Sofia smiled gently at her Pokemon as Antimony held onto her arm for support. Poor thing was exhausted. Sofia patted her on the head, and the Gardevoir nestled a bit closer. ”You’re too big for me to carry anymore, girl.” They both knew this was a lie, but Sofia was starting to come off the adrenaline rush she’d had earlier. She was starting to feel the onset of exhaustion.

Thankfully they reached the Inn a few minutes later. The main doors were unlocked, and the lights flickered on as they entered the lobby. That was new. Must only be triggered by opening the front door and stepping in.

”My room’s number two-oh-seven,” Sofia notified the boys in an almost whisper. ”Are you coming, or no?” She was hoping they’d say yes. She missed sharing a room with other people, and besides, they looked like they needed the room more than she did.

To be honest, Ricky was a little embarrassed as to the state of his financial affairs compared to the others. He really didn't want to come off as a mooch. Rubbing the back of his neck he thought about it, they did make the offer, and they were nice. Though it did feel awkward considering it. Then again, it had been a long time since he slept indoors or had warm water to bath in. "I don't mind, Sophie. I'll take you up on that offer. But I don't wanna be burden, so you don't hesitate to kick me out should I do be. I will just go with the flow." Ricky would say with a crooked grin.

Ricky didn't mind the short walk to the hotel, but ever step he took made him seem that much more tired. When they arrived, Ricky nodded, "Got'cha. Yeah, I'll be coming. Two-oh-seven. I will catch up with you in just a minute. I ain't got a change of clothes so I am gonna try to get clean up a little out here before I go in. Last thing I bet you wantin' is the houskeepers thinking you murdered somebody in your room."

Once Leo and Sophia went on, He released Winne. The beam of light striking beside him to apperate the large mound of purple sludge that was muk. Poor girl had been in he pokeball the greater part of the day. And she was very to see him. "Hey there, princess. Yeah I know, I didn't mean to make you worry." He told her as he placed a hand atop her head, which immediately got sucked in. Ricky didn't mind, he just grinned at her. Winnie was very friendly, though with her being a muk that didn't go over too well with most people. Or pokemon. "Think you can give me a hand? I need a quick cleaning. Don't wanna make things awkward for my mates doing things the normal way by running 'round naked while I be doing the laundry, eh?" He whispered to her with a chuckle. And Winnie certainly didn't mind. Being on the road as much as they were, privacy was rarely an issue.

Closing his eyes and covering his face, he anticipated correctly as the muk rose up and crashed into him. Like a slimy wave that knocked him to the ground. Yeah... it was a little much, but Ricky liked her this way. No kill like overkill. She of course would help him to his feet as he tried to spit out the muck that got in his mouth. His body harmlessly tingled from the poison, he wasn't taking daily antidotal tablets for nothing. Sometimes a trainer has to train himself before training a pokemon. Poison types sometimes were a chore but they were totally worth it.

Winne sucked the grime right out of his clothes, though he certainly wasn't any cleaner, the worst was was gone. Shuddering from the feeling, yes even though he loved her to death, that was not exactly a feeling that was easy to get used to. Being the first pokemon he caught in the wild, she did have a special place in his heart.

As Winnie purred her rumbling sounds around his legs, he then released Monty. Perhaps the more stoic of his troupe, but not without his quirks. He knew the drill by now, or thought he had because he opened his mouth and released a gentle torrent of water to rinse the muck(and muk) off of his trainer. Though gentle here is being gentle for a swampert. Though Ricky was still knocked to the ground again as Monty caringly made sure he was hosed off. "Wasn't... quite... ready, big bro." He said as he pushed himself to his feet once more. Though was chuckling to himself as he did so.

Blowing the water out of his nose he looked at the almost dismayed Swampert and grinned."But it sure felt good though. Alrighty you two, thank ya much. We got a big day tomorrow. Got to make up for lost time, so make sure you be getting plenty of rest tonight. 'Kay? We have a gotten to be well rested if we want to rock this town, ya know?" He patted Monty on the cheek, who seemed well heartened again, and they both let out a vehement affirmation before they returned to the pokeballs from whence they came.

After taking an effort to try and shake out what water he could from his much cleaner cloths, he eventually found his way to room two zero seven and knocked on the door. A good bit damp, but no longer covered in blood. He could still use a shower though... "Sorry that had taken so long, so what's are we doing 'bout tonight?" he asked in case anything had changed while he was outside.

Leo decided to immediately take Sofia up on her offer and followed her to the room, leaving Ricky behind at his request. Leo wanted nothing more than to take a hot shower and to wash his... messy clothes. Leo walked into Sofia's luxurious and spacious accommodations and was certain that everyone, including their Pokemon, would be able to make themselves more than comfortable. With his bloody over shirt tucked under his right arm and his satchel and guitar saddled over his shoulder he just stood in amazement looking at the room. "Wow Sofia, this must have cost a fortune. Let me at least give you some compensation." Leo once again reached into his wallet to pull out what he assumed would be half the cost of the room. It was only fair in his eyes.

As he was handing over his no returns payment to Sofia, his Pokemon made it their decision to make themselves at home. Tenzin found himself a nice little corner to rest in and immediately shut his eyes to have a rest. Elise proceeded to wander around the room with just awe and amazement in her eyes - with a little bit of water coming out of her mouth as drool from how impressed she was. Ray found the love of his life again and immediately flew over to Antimony and tried his best to woo her with acrobatic tricks and just a pleasant demeanor.

After basically forcing the money onto Sofia Leo began to walk towards the bathroom where he was able to both wash his clothes and himself. Before stepping in he unconsciously stripped down to his briefs after tossing his guitar onto a nearby chair. Right before he took his briefs off he looked to his left and noticed Sofia was still in the room. While he felt he should make a larger deal about it, he really didn't care for the most part. He figured he should probably make some respect considering they just met each other and go change in the bathroom.

After taking a fairly long shower he came back out only in a towel with the happiest look on his face. He needed the warm water just to refresh his skin and let him at least be clean of the incident from before. As he walked out of the bathroom he saw Ricky walk in looking as fresh as he did earlier in the day - a little stink buy still a charming guy. When Ricky posed the question about what they were gonna do, Leo shrugged as he discretely put on some briefs just so he didn't have to wear the towel all night. "I don't know about you guys, but I want to get some shut eye. We need to get out of town just and find some jobs out there. We can't live off our life savings forever."

Sofia was glad she’d gone with the larger room. Oh, sure, it only had one bed, but it was of better quality than she’d had in a while. Leo certainly seemed impressed. Sofia wasn’t rich, by any stretch of the imagination, but when you work the same job for six years you’re bound to make a little money.

"Wow Sofia, this must have cost a fortune. Let me at least give you some compensation." Leo handed her a hefty sum for around what she assumed was half the room payment. She protested, but he insisted. After that, Sofia had no choice but to take the money. She hadn’t been expecting any kind of compensation from them. She’d gathered that Ricky was flat broke (she’d been there, and it wasn’t a place she wanted the family to go back to) and that Leo had some money, but… He’d come pretty close to half the room, too.

Leo’s Pokemon proceeded to get comfortable in their own ways, prompting Sofia to let out her own. They were already half asleep and proceeded to get in their own little sleeping groups. They usually slept together (except for Samson. The Smeargle still wasn’t accustomed to sleeping outside his Pokeball and as such usually slept either by himself or with Gideon.) Antimony was currently being wooed by Ray, of course, and she was smiling sleepily. Sofia was glad those two were getting along fabulously. They’d been around flying types before, but most guards wouldn’t carry a fire or a flying type with them on duty. It was rare to find a non-water Pokemon guard aid, considering how hard that certification was. Besides, it was good for her to have friends outside of the family.

Sofia had to stifle a grin when Leo nearly stripped to his birthday suit in the middle of the room. Nothing she hadn’t seen before, having both a little brother and some more, shall we say, free spirited fellow guards. Plus, the whole swim thing. So she was used to guys deck changing in front of her. It was almost as though he’d forgotten she was there for a moment. The look on his face, though, combined with the sleep deprivation setting in, nearly sent Sofia into fits of giggles. Quite unlike her. But, he went into the bathroom before she gave herself away.

”Pff, that was close,” Sofia giggled quietly. She took a quick glance around the room. She’d let the boys fight over the bed for tonight, and she’d sleep with Samson this time around. Poor thing probably needed it, and when she slept with the group she tended to have less nightmares. That would be for the best, she decided, considering the events of the day. Yesterday, she corrected herself. It was well into the next day already. No wonder she was so exhausted.

Sofia proceeded to set up the kitchenette for coffee and tea, as well as a small breakfast. (The foodstuffs had come with the room bill up front. She made sure of that before even putting in a coffee filter.) Most of her pokemon were already asleep, although Antimony was still conversing with Ray. How cute.

Sofia was pulling her hair down and brushing it out when Ricky had knocked on the door. He smelled of something slightly off putting, but he was far cleaner than earlier. Nothing a good shower and laundry soap wouldn’t fix. Sofia was rather glad that he’d decided to take her up on her offer. She owed both of them, really. At this thought, Sofia involuntarily shuddered. Owe. Not a word she took lightly. But, she would pay them back in full.

Leo exited the bathroom as Sofia closed the door behind Ricky. The gang was all here, and miraculously in one piece. ”Sorry that had taken so long,” Ricky apologized to the pair as Leo put on some sort of undergarment. ”So, what’s are we doing ‘bout tonight?”

”I don't know about you guys, but I want to get some shut eye. We need to get out of town just and find some jobs out there. We can't live off our life savings forever." Sleep was a welcome idea.

Sofia yawned and blearily rubbed her eyes. ”Not going to argue with any of that. You guys can take the bed and the couch. I’d rather sleep on the floor tonight. And I don’t want any gentlemanly creed of yours to get in the way of me and that floor, because then either the bed or the couch’ll go to waste, and that’s a pretty comfy bed.” The floor was pretty comfy too. Combined with one of her blankets and a pillow, Sofia would be set. ”So that’s that. If you two don’t immediately need the bathroom, I need to go brush my teeth and the like.” She was quickly moving from sleepy to bone-tired, and needed to get to sleep as soon as possible.

Sofia took care of her personal hygiene, wished her companions a good night, and set up her little blanket bed on the floor next to her Pokemon. Fingers crossed. One clean night, with nice dreams. That would be wonderful.

In her tired state, she hadn’t noticed that she’d murmured the last bit aloud. Oh well, too late to think about that now. Now, sleep.
