Personality
Joey is a person primarily known for his intelligence and for the way that he often isolates himself for everyone around him. He is naturally an intellectual person with a partially photographic people and -while he's not mean to them- he usually is confused by people who don't have his level of intelligence. Despite all his intellect, Joey rarely uses is for anything. His mother has always chastised him for not becoming a scientist or something of that nature. In truth, he doesn't hate being smart, but he has never really found any use for this intelligence.

Since he was a kid, Joey has always been a smart kid; however, he wasn't always so closed off to the world. He used to be a very happy kid who loved to play jokes on his friends and was always smiling about something or other, but after his abandonment by his father, he has always kept people at arms length so to speak. He is still funny -albeit in a more cynical and sarcastic way- and every now and then he may open up to a certain person; however, for the most part he does not trust anyone.

Despite his trust issues and emotional isolation, Joey likes to surround himself with happy people. Perhaps it's a bit of his natural, old happy persona shining through. He likes to smile -he just doesn't like to be the one to tell the joke. On occasion, he will crack a sarcastic joke; however, with his personality, the joke often comes off as malicious rather than light-hearted. In any case, Joey loves to hear laughter and be surrounded by happiness because it's what he has always wanted since his childhood.

Due to his closed off nature, Joey is normally seen as a very mysterious person. He does not tell people about his family or past except that he his mother runs a Pokemon daycare and his father left him at a young age. That is all. In addition, he usually keeps his expression as blank as possible except for the occasional smirk so as not to let anyone know his emotions. He does not like when people know too much about him and he gets uncomfortable when people know what he is thinking.

In reality, Joey's Pokemon are the ones who know the most about him. They have learned how to read his almost nonexistent expressions and the smallest twitches in his face that tell what he is really feeling and thinking. They are also the ones that know the most about his past because they have lived through it with him. He trusts them with everything and even if they cannot understand him when he speaks, he feels comfortable telling them everything when he is alone with them.

History
Joey was born to a loving mother and a constantly shut-off, brooding father. True to her caring nature, his mother was a Pokemon caretaker, running a small daycare for travelers who came to Camphrier Town and his father was a construction worker, constantly leaving to go to work sites in new and developing cities. Despite his mother's love and care and the fact that his father seemed to want nothing to do with him, Joey clung to his father as a kid. For some reason, he was always vying for his fathers approval even though he never really got it. His father was an emotionally closed off man and he made sure that everyone knew it. To this day, Joey has always wondered why his sweet, caring mother decided to marry him.

While his father was away and his mother was a work, Joey was always very lonely, so he learned to be the funny guy in the group of kids that lived in town. He was amazingly talented at making friends. He used his intelligence and perfect memory to impress them and kept everyone laughing. Overall, he was a amiable kid and even though he was lonely at home, he always had at least a few friends who wanted to hang out with him on the daily. At around the age of twelve, Joey and his friends began having fun Pokemon battles and recreationally training Pokemon. His first Pokemon was a Fletchling who he oh-so-cleverly named Ace (he was twelve, give him a break). He found that his intelligence helped him win almost every battle he had with his friends because he strategized and he always remembered his opponents attack strategies.

His mother loved that he had finally found a hobby that suited him, but Joey's father hated the idea of him being a trainer. He told his son repeatedly that being a trainer was stupid and inconsistent and that he needed to find a more steady job. And this marked the first time that Joey had ever went against his father's will. He continued training and even caught a few more Pokemon including a Totodile -Marin-, a Pikachu -Striker- and a Riolu -Lucky- in spite of what his father told him. He trained a bit more seriously than he had before, but he kept it recreational because he wasn't sure that being a trainer was what he really wanted to do with his life.

When Joey was fourteen, his father went on a trip to the Hoenn region to do a job that was supposed to take about three weeks. When he didn't come back within the three weeks, Joey told himself that he just had to take a little longer to finish the job. When he didn't come back after another two weeks, Joey began to despair. He rejected his friends invitation to hang out or battle in favor of waiting at the train station. When a five weeks passed from the time when he was supposed to return, Joey's teary-eyed mother told him that his father was not coming back. He had abandoned them both.

After this, there was a period of time in which Joey went on a training rampage. He completely rejected any form of friendship or social event and instead, trained everyday from dawn to dusk until his Pokemon were completely exhausted. He caught two more Pokemon to complete his team, a spring Deerling -Bram- and a Lartivar -Terra-, and he trained them all intensively for a period of about six weeks after his father left. He did not stop until one day when Ace was fighting a wild Blitzle, and she was slower than usual due to her exhaustion. She was struck down by a bolt of lightning. She was nearly killed that day and Joey has never stopped feeling guilty for the event. After that day, he calmed down his training and he began to be able to read when his Pokemon were getting tired. He never took the same risks again and he ended up growing far closer to his team -especially Ace- because of it.

Joey ended up figuring out that he wanted to become a serious trainer and his mother -although a bit protective and hesitant- approved of it because she knew how much his Pokemon meant to him. He remains closed off to anything emotional and he still has trust issues because of his father, but for the most part, he tries not to think about his past and he rarely tells anyone anything about it other than that his father left when he was young. His team was strong and it remains strong because of Joey's strategic stance on battles as well as the deep connections that he has with his team.

Joey glanced up at the sky as he walked toward Petalburg, making sure that Ace was still right above him. She was still angry at him for not taking the train or a boat from Slateport -where their boat had docked- to Petalburg and she refused to come down and be near him. Joey shook his head and sighed at the brazen bird before looking over at Marin, his Feraligatr. He had taken him out for company, but he knew that he would have to put the alligator Pokemon back in his Pokeball when they got to the city because Marin absolutely hated cities. Marin glanced back at him and gave him a smile that showed his fang-like teeth. "You're probably all hungry." Joey paused and patted his belt where the rest of his Pokeballs were. "We'll stop somewhere in Petalburg before meeting with the other trainers." Understanding the word 'food' Marin gave a pleased grumble and moved to walk closer to his trainer.

As Petalburg finally came into view, Joey stopped and turned to Marin. "Well, bud, thanks for walking with me. Hopefully I can bring you out as soon as we're somewhere it's not too crowded." Marin gave a low grumble and then stepped back so that Joey could put him back in his Pokeball. Once the gator's Pokeball was back on Joey's belt he continued toward the city.

Upon entering the city, Joey gave a shrill whistle and looked up as Ace landed gracefully on his shoulder. He reached to pet her head but she turned away with a huff. Joey rolling his eyes and dropped his hand, mumbling, "Drama queen," under his breathe. The Fletchinder seemed to understand perfectly well because she dug her talons into his shoulder, hard enough to cause him discomfort but not bleed. Joey jumped and swatted at her feet until she eased up the tension; however, she kept her head turned away from her trainer. "C'mon, Ace. The trip wasn't that bad," he tried to persuade her to forgive him; however, she was not having any of it and instead, she swooped off of his shoulder and hovered about a foot away from him. Joey rolled his eyes again and sighed in defeat. "Fine, fine, be that way, but you're not going to get any of those berries you love." That seemed to perk Ace up as she chirped happily.

Joey was about to say more when he heard a loud roar coming in the direction of the docks. He turned, along with a few people around him, to look for the source of the sound, but the docks could not be seen from where he stood. Unlike the other people who simply shrugged off the minor disturbance and went back to doing what they had been, Joey decided to investigate the sound. He headed in the general direction with Ace still flying about a foot behind him, stubbornly refusing to land on his shoulder. He stopped along the way to buy some berries from an old woman and he gave them to Ace who seemed to perk up a bit at the tasty food, but still would not perch on his shoulder. He decided to buy a few more, placing them in his bag to give to his other Pokemon later and began to stroll toward the source of the noise.

When the Petalburg docks came into view, Joey see a group of young trainers all around his age gathered with their Pokemon. He saw that one of the girls had a large Pyroar by her side and decided that this was what had caused the noise. Joey wondered whether these were the trainers he was supposed to meet and despite the fact that he was a generally closed off person, he began to walk toward the group of trainers to see who they were. As he joined the group, Ace finally flapped up behind him to perch on his shoulder and Joey knew that it was more out of curiosity for the trainers and their Pokemon rather than wanting to be in contact with the trainer that she was annoyed with at the moment.

Not wanting to seem odd or creepy, Joey spoke up saying with as much friendliness as he could muster, "You all here about the legendaries?" The girl with a Pyroar and a small, silver Eevee on her shoulder nodded and spoke up for the group. That's what it's starting to seem like." Joey was looking over the other trainers when the girl spoke up again.
"So, I take it that we're all here for the same purpose?" He didn't reply, but Joey nodded and looked to the others for confirmation -although he had the suspicion that these were the trainers he was supposed to meet.

Bri had just begun to stroll with Iggy into Petalburg when a speedy little Duskull came out of nowhere, floating up to Iggy and chirping up at him. Surprised by the Pokemon, Iggy jumped slightly before seeing the small creature. Bri couldn't help the giggle that escaped from her mouth. "Ya know, for all your bravado and strength, you're kind of a big wuss Ig." Bri chuckled again and moved closer to the Duskull even when Iggy protested and stayed a few steps away from the Ghost Pokemon. Bri crouched down in front of the Pokemon and Eona hopped down from her perch on Bri's shoulder to get a closer look at the mysterious creature. Just then, a voice yelled out, "Dusty!" and Bri looked up to see a trainer jogging her way. She reached them and Bri stood from her crouch. As the trainer reached down to pick up her Duskull, Eona hopped slightly in surprise, having been too focused on inspecting the Duskull to noticed the girl, and quickly jumped back onto Bri's shoulder, watching the trainer and her Pokemon cautiously.

Bri also eyed the girl a bit cautiously, but as the other girl spoke, Bri gave her a wide smile."Sorry about that. I don't know why she got so excited." Iggy now stepped up beside Bri, but he was clearly still a bit jumpy from the encounter with the Ghost Pokemon and her stayed a bit behind Bri who rolled her eyes and looked at the Pyroar. "Don't worry about it. Iggy, here, is just a big baby when it comes to Ghost Pokemon," Bri said jokingly and then turned back to the girl. "I'm Tyler, by the way," Bri smiled at the girl and offered her her own name, "Aubri, but normally just Bri." There was a pause before the girl spoke again, "What a cute Eevee! I've never seen one that colour before." and then turned to Iggy saying, "And you have such a lovely mane!" Iggy seemed a bit put off by the attention he was receiving from the girl, but he stood tall and proud as always. "Thanks so much! I'd never seen a grey Eevee either until I found Eona here," she gestured to her Eevee, "And as for Iggy," Bri leaned in closer to Tyler as if to tell her a secret, "He washes his mane every day, but don't tell him I told you." Bri leaned back again and chuckled. After so long on that boat, talking to no one besides her Pokemon, Bri was happy to have some company finally.

Bri was about to ask the girl whether she was one of the trainers she was supposed to meet when the girl beat her to it. "Are you here about Kyogre and Groudon, too?" Bri nodded. "Yeah. I suppose that means you are too then?" Before the girl could reply, her Duskull jumped from her arms and floated to Iggy, nuzzling up to his leg. Iggy took a step back with a frightened look on his face, but the Duskull simply continued to coo and cuddle Iggy's leg. The Pyroar lifted it's leg with a look of annoyance on his face as if to get rid of the Pokemon, but the Duskull being a Ghost Pokemon, simply floated in the air, hugging Iggy's leg with joy. Blowing out air -something of a sigh that Iggy usually did- he lowered his leg with a defeated look on his face and let the Duskull hug his leg. Bri laughed and turned to Tyler. "I have no doubt they'll be best friends by sundown."

Just then, a voice sounded behind Tyler and a large Metagross and a boy with an Aron atop his head came to stand next to the two of them. "I assume shes part of the group too." Bri squinted at him for a moment and crossed her arms before raising an eyebrow and smirking. "Nice to meet you too." She said, hiding her annoyance at his flippant attitude behind her sarcasm.

Bri was about to say more when another girl, this one with blond hair and glasses walked over. "Hi, are you the Trainers I'm supposed to be meeting here about those two legendaries?" Bri glanced at the two other trainers, Tyler, and the boy who had not introduced himself yet, before turning back to the blonde girl. "Yeah, I think that's us." This exchange was followed immediately by another boy with brown hair and a Fletchinder hovering behind him. As he joined the group, the Fletchinder perched on his shoulder and Bri could see a thin, jagged white scar running down its chest with other thin lines branching off of it, giving the scar the appearance of a lightning bolt. Bri was in the middle of wondering where the scar may have come from when the boy spoke up, "You all here about the legendaries?"

The boy seemed very closed off, but his manner of speaking was not unfriendly. Bri nodded for what felt like the umpteenth time and "That's what it's starting to seem like." Bri glanced around them and, satisfied that there were no more young trainers in their general vicinity, she spoke to the group as a whole. "So, I take it that we're all here for the same purpose?"

Brawl stretched his arms out above him, breathing in the sea air as he traveled to Hoenn using his Poliwrath's Surf. His other Pokémon were safely stowed away in their Pokéballs, as Poliwrath could only carry Brawl. When they finally arrived on the beach near Petalburg City, Brawl hopped onto the soft sand, and his Poliwrath, Fury, stepped onto the beach after him. "Poli-Poliwrath.." the Pokémon grumbled. "I know you don't like having to Surf so far, but this is important, Fury. Here, take a nap in your Pokéball," Brawl said, throwing his Poliwrath a sideways smile. Once Fury was safely nestled into his Pokéball, he took two of his other Pokéballs out. He clicked their buttons, and his Gallade and his Blaziken were transported out of their Pokéballs. "Clash. Kemp. Let's see if we can find the other trainers that're supposed to be here." he said, motioning for his Pokémon to follow.

As he made his way toward Petalburg City, Clash and Kemp at either side of him, he saw a small group of trainers with a few Pokémon. "Maybe that's them. Let's go check." "Gallade," Kemp said half-heartedly. "Blaze!" Clash added, throwing his fist in the air. They moved closer to the group of trainers, trying not to interrupt what was happening. "Hey," Brawl said. "Are you all the trainers that're here about the Legendaries?"

Magnus smirked as he saw more people coming. "Man this group just gets bigger and bigger."He said before Braum began to nibble on his hat. He sighed slightly. "Uhhh ok... So whats our first plan of action? My vote, we get food. Kinda hungry. Plus I don't want Braum biting my head off."tThe Aron looked around at the people much like a frightened child. He wasn't use to this many people surrounding. He continued to bite on his owners head making Magnus sigh. "Ok ok calm down!" He said before reaching up and picking the pokemon off his head. The Aron gave an innocent look as if it did nothing. He then smirked and poked it's head. "You little stinker. Trying to bite my brains out huh?"The Aron smiled happily. "Arrron!"

Tyler looked around at all of the trainers that had showed up, smiling at them, glad they were there. Then, a shirtless guy waltzed up to the group, asking if they were in Hoenn about the Legendaries as well. "Yeah, that's us!" the girl with glasses chirped. Magnus spoke up, inquiring about what the first course of action should be, suggesting food, as his Aron was munching on his hat. Tyler smiled warmly at the little Pokémon as Magnus took it off his head, to which the Pokémon gave Magnus a very innocent look, acting like it hadn't done anything. "You little stinker. Trying to bite my brains out, huh?" Magnus said, to which his Pokémon replied: "Arrrron!"

Tyler's stomach rumbled, and she chuckled a little. "I think getting food is a good idea!" she said, smiling. "We can get food for our Pokémon, too!" Dusty wiggled her little ghost body in excitement. "Duskuuuull!!" she trilled, still nuzzling against the Pyroar. Tyler smiled, happy that her Pokémon had found a friend, even if he'd been unsure of her at first. Tyler knew Dusty didn't normally get along with other Pokémon, and she didn't like most of Tyler's other Pokémon either.

Image
Tyler leaned down and picked Dusty up, the little Pokémon wriggling in her arms, trying to get back to the Pyroar. "You want to get food, Dusty?" she said, addressing her Pokémon. "Dusk!" Tyler turned to the shirtless boy who'd just joined the group. "I'm sorry if I'm prying, but I'm just curious as to why you're shirtless?" Tyler inquired awkwardly, rubbing the back of her head in embarrassment.

She looked around at the group when she realized there were a few names she hadn't caught. "I guess we should probably all reintroduce ourselves now that I think all of us are here. I'm Tyler, Tyler Birch. I'm the granddaughter of the Pokémon Professor here in Hoenn," she said, pausing for a moment. "And this is Dusty!" she stated, motioning to her Pokémon. "Dusk-Duskull!" she warbled happily, looking at all of the other trainers and their Pokémon. Then Tyler remembered something that her grandfather had told her. "Oh! Also, one of the trainers we're supposed to be meeting is in Rustboro City. That's the first place we're going to, so I told my grandfather that we could meet her there."

Image"I think getting food is a good idea!" the brown-haired girl said, her stomach rumbling. "We can get food for our Pokémon, too!" Brawl watched as a small Duskull cuddled up to the Pyroar that was standing there. "Ghost Pokémon give me the creeps...." he muttered under his breath to his Pokémon, hoping the others couldn't hear him. Clash and Kemp both nodded in agreement, and Clash crossed his arms his own stomach rumbling. "I think it'd be a good idea if we got food for ourselves and our Pokémon, as well," he said, looking to the others.

"I'm sorry if I'm prying, but I'm just curious as to why you're shirtless?" the brown-haired girl said, now addressing him specifically. Brawl sighed. "I'm a fighter, and I use Fighting-Type Pokémon. As a fighter, I train whenever and wherever I can, but I train shirtless." He paused for a moment. "So why bother with a shirt?" he said matter-of-factly. Kemp and Clash nodded in agreement with him, now both of their arms being crossed. They weren't too keen on Pokémon that weren't blatantly tough, as they were well-trained fighters, and they didn't very much like "cute" Pokémon. The tougher a Pokémon looked, the more accepted it would be to Brawl's Pokémon.

Brawl decided that he'd put Kemp back in his Pokéball, since they'd be walking around a lot and the Pokémon didn't enjoy walking very much. Instead, once Kemp was back in its Pokéball, he brought out his Hawlucha, Rumble. She stretched her wings, landing on Brawl's shoulder. "Haw-Hawluchaaaa!" she yawned. "Good morning to you, too, Rumble."

"I guess we should probably all reintroduce ourselves now that I think all of us are here. I'm Tyler, Tyler Birch," she said, continuing on about being the granddaughter of the Hoenn Pokémon Professor. "The name's Brawl. I'm Flannery's nephew. She's a Gym Leader in Lavaridge Town right here in Hoenn. This is Clash, and this is Rumble," Brawl said, motioning to his Pokémon respectively as he stated their names. He also nodded in agreement when Tyler spoke of another trainer they would be meeting in Rustboro.

Bri eyed the shirtless man as he approached with is Gallade and his Blaziken. 'Why on Earth is he shirtless?' Bri thought to herself as he asked about the group and proceeded to get an answer from the blonde girl with glasses.

Realizing that she had unfocused her vision as she thought and that she was still staring at the newest addition to the group, Bri snapped her eyes away and looked over at the blonde man as he spoke, "Man this group just gets bigger and bigger. Uh... So whats our first plan of action? My vote, we get food. Kinda hungry. Plus I don't want Braum biting my head off." Bri grinned as the small Aron atop his head began to chomp on his hat and he scolded it. His statement was followed immediately by the man with the scarred Fletchinder on his shoulder agreeing and saying that he had promised said Fletchinder some food. Tyler then agreed with the idea of getting food and Bri nodded, not thinking that her input was really needed. She was a bit hungry as well and with Eona sitting so close to her ear, Bri could hear the Eevee's stomach growl.

From behind her, Bri heard the Duskull that was still attached to Iggy's leg squeal with happiness and Iggy gave a low grumble of annoyance at the small Ghost Pokemon. Tyler bent down to pick up the Duskull -who only began to wriggle around and try to return to Iggy- and the Pyroar gave a sigh of relief that the nuisance was gone -although Bri could sense that he was beginning to feel a fondness for the small Pokemon. From beside her, Bri heard the shirtless man mutter almost inaudibly, "Ghost Pokémon give me the creeps." His two Pokemon both nodded and Bri thought the statement was a bit arrogant of him, but she let it be, not wanting to cause any conflict with these people that she would be spending a lot of time with.

Bri was considering asking them if they should introduce themselves when Tyler turned to ask the shirtless man why exactly he was shirtless. Remembering that she had wondered the same thing earlier, Bri turned to the trainer as well. "I'm a fighter, and I use Fighting-Type Pokémon. As a fighter, I train whenever and wherever I can, but I train shirtless. So why bother with a shirt?"

Bri almost wanted to scoff at his answer. 'Maybe if you had some dignity you'd be wearing one,'
she thought to herself. She almost wanted to say something to him when Tyler piped up again, "I guess we should probably all reintroduce ourselves now that I think all of us are here. I'm Tyler, Tyler Birch. I'm the granddaughter of the Pokémon Professor here in Hoenn." Tyler had been the only one whose name Bri had actually caught beforehand, but she hadn't known that she was Professor Birch's daughter. That seemed like kind of a big deal to Bri. Her attention was turned then to the shirtless "fighter" as he introduced himself, "The name's Brawl. I'm Flannery's nephew. She's a Gym Leader in Lavaridge Town right here in Hoenn." He introduced his Pokemon as well, but Bri paid that no mind, knowing that she would never remember the names of all of these trainers Pokemon. So, this guy was related to a gym leader? What was Bri supposed to reply? Her parents had helped with the discovery of Mega Evolutions, but there had been so many scientists working on that project that no one would know the name Weston.

Bri was a bit nervous about not having anything interesting to say about her life, but she would never show that to another trainer. So, she gave the combed a strand of white-blonde hair back and then introduced herself, "I'm Aubri -although it's usually just Bri. My father is a scientist in Kalos." She paused for a moment, looking at the other trainers and catching eyes with the brown-haired man next to her. Bri chuckled rather loudly and gave the group a wide smile. "I'm not really related to anyone famous like a gym leader or a professor. I guess you guys got that on me." She made the comment a joke of course and she kept the smile bright on her face to let them know that, but there was something deep inside her that made her feel like these trainers might actually be better than her because they were tied to some famous people.

This is why Bri felt a rush of relief as the man standing next to her spoke up, "Joseph, but most just call me Joey. I guess unless you've traveled to Camphrier Town in Kalos, you wouldn't really know her, but my mother runs a Pokemon daycare center there." So he was the same as her. Not related to a famous gym leader or professor. Maybe if was only the other two, Tyler and Brawl, who were related to well-known people. Bri turned her attention to the other trainers, hoping that this was the case.

"Hey. Are you all the trainers that're here about the Legendaries?" Joey stayed quiet as he looked this other trainer over. He was a bit put off by the guy's shirtless-ness, but rather than make his opinion known in any way, he simply shrugged and let the blonde trainer answer for them.

"Man this group just gets bigger and bigger. Uh... So whats our first plan of action? My vote, we get food. Kinda hungry. Plus I don't want Braum biting my head off." Joey nodded at this statement. "Yeah, I promised Ace here," he nodded to the Fletchinder on his shoulder, "that I'd get her something to eat."

As the boy's Aron began to munch anxiously on his hat and the boy began to chastise it, Joey turned his attention to the other trainers. The brown haired girl piped up to agree with his statement about feeding the Pokemon and Joey simply nodded along. Getting some food might even be a good time for them to talk and get to know each other -considering that he didn't even know a single one of their names yet.

"I'm sorry if I'm prying, but I'm just curious as to why you're shirtless?" The same brown-haired girl inquired of the shirtless boy. There was a pause and Joey looked at the guy, wondering for himself why he was not wearing a shirt. More curious was why Joey hadn't seemed to notice it before. Perhaps it was because the guy seemed much like Joey himself -emotionally isolated- or because, from what Joey could read of the trainer, he was bold and arrogant when Joey hated. In any case, he was curious and listened as the man explained, "I'm a fighter, and I use Fighting-Type Pokémon. As a fighter, I train whenever and wherever I can, but I train shirtless. So why bother with a shirt?" The answer seemed fair enough, but Joey couldn't help himself from squinting in slight annoyance at the man before shrugging and relaxing his features back to a completely neutral expression.

"I guess we should probably all reintroduce ourselves now that I think all of us are here," one of the girls said and Joey couldn't have agreed more. He almost smirked a bit. They hadn't even introduced themselves and already the "fighter" standing next to him had had to explain his lack of a shirt. Joey was pulled from this amusing thought as the girl spoke again. "I'm Tyler, Tyler Birch. I'm the granddaughter of the Pokémon Professor here in Hoenn." This was followed immediately by the shirtless man's introduction, "The name's Brawl. I'm Flannery's nephew. She's a Gym Leader in Lavaridge Town right here in Hoenn. This is Clash, and this is Rumble." So he was related to Flannery, of course he had to be at least a bit of a hot-head by association.

With that, Joey was forced to think exactly of how to introduce himself. People didn't really know his mother unless they lived in the area around Camphrier Town of had happened to visit there and had left their Pokemon with her. Even then, most people did not know Joey's mother at all except to say hello when they dropped their Pokemon off and then, thank you and goodbye when they came to pick them up. Fortunately, the white-haired girl beat him to the introduction, giving him a bit more time to think. "I'm Aubri -although it's usually just Bri. My father is a scientist in Kalos." The girl paused here as if trying to figure out what to say. She chuckled loudly and gave a wide smile. "I'm not really related to anyone famous like a gym leader or a professor. I guess you guys got that on me." The girl was smiling so as to make the comment light-hearted and Joey had the good sense to give her a quick smile back; however, somewhere behind that smile, he could see that this girl was a bit uncomfortable about being something of a nobody -like Joey was. So, he decided to give the girl -Bri- a bit of comfort by introducing himself as well, "Joseph, but most just call me Joey. I guess unless you've traveled to Camphrier Town in Kalos, you wouldn't really know her, but my mother runs a Pokemon daycare center there." Joey kept the introduction short, but, in his peripheral vision, he caught the small twitch of relief in Bri's expression. At least they all weren't related to someone famous.

What a group they had. Awkward moments, uncomfortable conversation and shirtless guys. Cynthia surely didn't tell him about this. He rubbed his neck slightly. "Oh boy. I have a feeling we won't be bored for awhile." He then cleared his throat. "To all the new faces, im Magnus. This is Platinum." He said while patting the head of the Metagross he rode. Platinum looked at the people but remained quiet. Magnus smirked. "He uh... He doesn't really talk much.. And this little stinker her is Braum." The Aron happily tumbled in his lap and cheerfully looked at the others. "Cynthia is my aunt and well she basically sent me here to do some research on these legendaries. I have a feeling she may be 'stalking' us along the way. If i know my auntie Cynthia, she can't stay away from a legendary pokemon mystery." He said with a sigh. He then reached in his bag. "If you guys' pokemon are hungry, i've got a mess load of pokemon food. She packed my quite a bit before i left. This probably explains why theres so much." Magnus quickly jumped off the large Metagross and placed his Aron down on the floor. He rubbed his neck slightly. "I wonder how many people will be accompaning us on this journey?.. Well the more the merrier." He placed the large boxes of pokemon food on the ground and sighed. "Hmm... From the looks of it theres all kinds of flavors and stuff..."

ImageNow adorned with a fresh shirt from his bag to alleviate some of the awkward tension he could feel in the air, Brawl listened to each of the other trainers as they introduced themselves. "By the way, I was kidding about my reasoning behind me being shirtless," he said, crossing his arms over his now shirt-covered chest. "I came to Hoenn using my Poliwrath, so I didn't wear a shirt. There's nothing worse than a soaked shirt. My Poliwrath manages to cover my pants for me, but he can't cover a shirt," Brawl said chuckling, realizing that this reasoning wasn't too much better than his previous one, even though this one was true.

Brawl sighed, giving up on figuring out how to explain being shirtless without sounding like a complete moron. He shook his head at himself, and Clash looked at him with curiosity. He put his elbow on the Blaziken's shoulder, leaning on him slightly, looking him in the eyes. "You hungry, buddy?" "Blaze!" the Pokémon grunted. Brawl looked to the Hawlucha on his shoulder, seeing that she was nodding off. He smiled at her and decided it was probably best to put her away for now since she seemed so exhausted. He pulled her Pokéball out, tapping the button and watched as she was transported inside. He put the Pokéball away and turned back to the group.

The Aubri girl seemed to feel a bit awkward about not being related to anyone "famous," until Joseph spoke up about his mother running a Pokémon Daycare Center back in Kalos, to which she seemed to relax a bit. "Being related to someone famous isn't all it's cracked up to be. I don't actually know Flannery. We moved to Kalos before I was old enough to actually remember her. So I was trained by her good friend, Korrina, the Gym Leader of Shalour City, where I'm from," he stated, trying to alleviate some of the tension. "All I know about Flannery is that she's a hot-head and probably wishes I would have grown up to be a Fire Pokémon Trainer like her." He sighed softly, thinking of what a disappointment he probably was to his aunt.

He turned to Tyler now, addressing something she'd said before. "You said there's another trainer we're meeting in Rustboro City, right?" he asked, looking to Tyler for answers. He didn't think that the group would be so large. He thought it might be two or three trainers, but so far there were six of them, not counting the trainer in Rustboro City. "Yes! Supposedly she's interested in discovering more about Pokémon, and my grandfather said that it would be good for her to get out," Tyler said, smiling.

Tyler watched as Brawl slipped on a shirt and explained the real reason behind him not wearing one previously. She chuckled slightly at his reasoning, thinking about how awkward it must've been to have been called out on not wearing a shirt. She figured he'd probably just forgotten to put a shirt back on once he arrived, as he'd probably been anxious to meet everyone. She watched him as he spoke about Flannery and his actual teacher, Korrina. "He's right, you know," Tyler said, looking to Aubri and Joseph. "I don't see my grandfather too much. Pretty much the only thing really important he's ever done for me using his status is this. And by 'this,' I mean telling me, us, about the Legendaries here. I don't have much contact with him besides seeing him every few years and a phone call on my birthdays," Tyler admitted.

Tyler looked at Magnus, who had put out a bunch of Pokémon Food. "Oh, wow! That's a whole lot of Pokémon Food.." she said, looking at all of it. "Too bad Dusty won't have anything to do with it. Actually, none of my Pokémon will. As Ghost-Types, they're extremely picky.." she huffed, giving Dusty a look to which the Pokémon smiled. "Some of my Pokémon will eat certain berries, like Dusty here, but most of them don't eat at all." She smiled toward Magnus, but then realized that she'd probably been rambling again. "Duskull?" Dusty cooed, bringing her trainer out of her thoughts.

"You said there's another trainer we're meeting in Rustboro City, right?" Brawl asked. "Yes! Supposedly she's interested in discovering more about Pokémon, and my grandfather said that it would be good for her to get out," she answered, smiling at him. She realized she didn't know much more about the trainer in Rustboro other than that, though. Tyler looked down at Dusty, who was writhing in her arms again in attempt to free herself. She sighed and put the restless Pokémon on the ground at her feet, but Dusty floated right back to the Pyroar, cooing and cuddling his leg once more.

Tyler shook her head at Dusty's friendliness toward the other Pokémon but smiled. "You know, my Pokémon normally don't like anyone. They don't even particularly get along with each other," Tyler said, still baffled at her Duskull. "Normally Dusty is the shiest one, too!" Tyler laughed, watching her Pokémon attempt to befriend the Pyroar. "Dusk-Duskull!" she warbled to the Pyroar, who still seemed fairly annoyed with Dusty's persistence.

ImageWith everyone's attentions on their Pokémon, seemingly nobody spotted the man approaching the group atop the oversized Zebstrika at a brisk trot. However, Vance wasn't one to wait around for them to notice him. After clearing his throat, Vance spoke up. "So, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that you're the group of trainers I'm supposed to meet. Petalburg? Check. Pokémon? Check Check. Up-and-coming trainers? Check on that, too."

Quickly hopping off of the large Zebstrika, Vance produced a pokeball from the pack on his back and, in a flash of red light, recalled his Pokémon. "So, legendaries, huh? Neat." Vance flashed an easy grin as he slid the pokeball into the pack. "Oops, where are my manners? I'm Vance Summers. You just met Thundra, there," said the man as he patted his pack. "From what I understand, like most of you, I've been sent by someone influential to investigate. My cousin, Lance, in Kanto, in my case." A loud growl came from his midsection just as he finished his sentence. "Anyone else hungry? I'm starving. I've been riding all day. There any good places to eat here or are we already dipping into our supplies?" Vance's light brown eyes settled on the trainers in anticipation of their response.

Somewhere witin the conversation the group were having, Alice had managed to zone out while staring at the ocean just behind them at the docks, imaging a scene of herself and her pokémon, all frolicing happily and carelessly amongst the water. Alice sighed internally, knowing that since joining this group and agreeing on investigating the legendaries, there was not likely time to frolic carelessly. From the corner of her eye, Alice saw the once-shirtless man theen pull on a shirt and add a comment about he had been joking about his reason for now wearing one in the first place, and she frowned slightly, remembering how her parents woudl scowl at her for wearing her swimsuit all the time instead of clothes - Alice hoped that nobody in the group was judgemental enough to care if she forgot to get changed after going swimming, as she had done many times before.

Through-out her zoned out daze, Alice could only half listen to what the others were saying, and picked up on a few mentions and agreements to going to food to eat, aswell as for their pokémon. In truth, Alice had already managed to eat and feed her pokémon just before they all went swimming on the cruise ship which Alice had used to get here, but now thinking back to it, ,after swimming, her pokémon are usually hungry. Plus, Alice was used to being able to down 3-courses of food back from living with her parents, so she wasn't much worried about over-eating. Nodding to show her agreement upon getting some food, Alice brought herself back to the conversation and was about to open her mouth to speak when another person spoke, which made Alice jump in surprise and peek past the others to try and see who it was. As they got closer to the group, Alice could see now that it was a man upon the back of a rather large Zebstrika who then hopped off and called back his pokémon before then addressing the group again. Again Alice heard mention of food and nodded again in agreement, this time managing to speak, adressing the man first to welcome him in to the group, feeling slightly glad that she had somebody to speak to, "We" Alice began, and then grunted softly realising that it wasn't exactly 'we' who were having the conversation in the first place as Alice had been off in her own world, "Well they were just talking about going to get something to eat, and Magnus over there seems to have plenty of food for the Pokémon" Alice gestured over to Magnus with his bag, glad that she was able to dip into the conversation enough to catch note of the others name, "And well I guess we could all go get something to eat too, does anyone know any place to eat around here?" Alice spoke to the group for a moment before then glancing back to the man who had recently joined, looking up at him through her glasses which rested comfortably on the bridge of her nose. "Hi, I'm Alice" She smiled meerily and sweetly talking more to the man than the rest of the group, though keeping her voice somewhat loud enough to be heard by the rest of them.

ImageAfter being greeted by the rich-looking blonde, Vance couldn't help but give a slight grin and nod. "Finding a place sounds good. I thought I saw a place as I rode in that serviced both human and pokemon. I believe it was called "Battle Diner" or something. So, I say we grab a quick bite to commemorate the start of our journey. Besides, who knows when we'll get to eat another well-cooked meal? I'm not that great at cooking, to be honest," Vance said with a grimace as he mentally flashed-back to the last time he attempted to go all out in cooking for himself and his pokemon.

Just then, Vance's pack began to shake. He just managed to snatch the standard issue pokeball responsible out of said pack before it erupted into a flash of red light, ejecting its pokemon out into the middle of the group. When the light dissipated, a rather curious looking Toxicroak was quickly glancing around at the new trainers and pokemon surrounding him. "Tox-toxi. Toxicroak." The pokemon's face quickly turned into that of happiness as he quickly darted from trainer to trainer and pokemon to pokemon as he gave intense stares into the faces of each for about a second or two before he darted off to the next. A groan emitted from Vance. "Sorry, guys. This is Striker. He's...excitable. He likes to commit faces to memory. As weird as it is, he's really good at remembering people and pokemon he's met before. He also can't stay in his ball when new people are around," Vance said slightly accusingly towards the pokemon. Not that Striker noticed.

The poison/fighting pokemon quickly finished examining all of the new trainers and their pokemon, then settled to stand alongside Vance. Striker glanced up at his trainer and croaked out, "Toxicroak." "Yes, I know they look capable. Though, you could've waited to do all of that until after dinner," said the trainer with a sigh. Then a light chuckle came from the man before shaking his head. "No harm done, buddy. You hungry? Let's go eat."

Bri glanced over at the once-shirtless trainer as he reached into his bag and grabbed a shirt, pulling it over his head. She almost chuckled as he tried to explain the real reason why he was shirtless. It was, of course, an understandable reason. She often had to change her clothing when she rode on Levi's back; however, when Brawl sighed and gave up on his explanation, Bri smiled a bit at the fact that he was beginning to sound a bit ridiculous.

Bri's smile dropped a bit as he continued to speak, "Being related to someone famous isn't all it's cracked up to be. I don't actually know Flannery. We moved to Kalos before I was old enough to actually remember her. So I was trained by her good friend, Korrina, the Gym Leader of Shalour City, where I'm from. All I know about Flannery is that she's a hot-head and probably wishes I would have grown up to be a Fire Pokémon Trainer like her." She couldn't help but give him a smile. Was her discomfort that obvious. Tyler also spoke up on the subject of not really knowing her grandfather too well and Bri was suddenly uncomfortable again. Were they only trying to make her feel better? However, she made sure to keep her features neutral so as not to show her discomfort. In truth, their statements had done nothing. Of course, Bri knew that she was a good trainer despite not being related to any trainers; however, there was a part of Bri's mind that told her that these trainers had somehow had a head start. That maybe they were really better trainers simply by relation to these people. She knew, of course, that this was ridiculous for her to think, but she couldn't help feeling slightly undermined as a trainer.

Bri was pulled from her musings and worries as another one of the male trainers introduced himself as Magnus, Cynthia's nephew. This did nothing for Bri's confidence, but she had no time to think of that as produced a box of Pokemon food and set it out for the other Pokemon. Eona, who had been preoccupied with staring at the scars that ran down Joey's Fletchinder's chest, was brought back to the present as she smelled the food. She quickly jumped from one of Bri's shoulders to the other and stared at the food before looking at Bri who, with a chuckle, nodded at the Eevee. With her trainer's permission, Eona jumped down from Bri's shoulder and landed skillfully inside of the box of food. She then proceeded to grab a mouthful of food and hop back out of the box, landing at Bri's feet where she spit the food out and began to eat it more slowly in order to savor it. Bri winced at the fact that her Pokemon had been so rude and had probably gotten her silver fur and her slobber inside the food that was meant for everyones' Pokemon. She looked at Magnus with an apologetic smile. "Sorry 'bout that," She paused and then added, "I guess she's more hungry than I thought."

Bri's apology was forgotten as Brawl asked Tyler about the aforementioned waiting trainer in Rustboro and Tyler replied, "Yes! Supposedly she's interested in discovering more about Pokémon, and my grandfather said that it would be good for her to get out." For some reason, the idea of a new trainer made Bri excited and she smiled and asked excited, "So, she's a new trainer then?" Of course, the trip they were on could possibly be very dangerous, but the fact that a trainer with little experience made Bri ecstatic because she remembered how much fun it was being a new trainer. Bri still had fun in her training, but she remembered how excited she had been when she first found and started training Eona and she was always happy to see other people experience that excitement and curiosity about the new world they had gotten into.

Bri was so focused on this prospect of having a novice trainer on the team that she almost jumped when a voice came from behind her. "So, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that you're the group of trainers I'm supposed to meet." Bri turned around and literally jumped as she came face-to-chest with a large Zebstrika. She took a step back in fright as well as to give the creature some space and the Pokemon's rider continued, "Petalburg? Check. Pokémon? Check. Up-and-coming trainers? Check on that, too."

Bri's brow furrowed at his introduction. His attitude was very flippant and Bri normally hated that about people, but she knew to keep her mouth shut until she could make further judgement on his character -something that was very hard for Bri to do, as she was a person who generally liked to speak her mind. "So, legendaries, huh? Neat. Oops, where are my manners? I'm Vance Summers." He gave the group and easy grin and Bri couldn't help the small huff that escaped her at his aloof personality.

He continued, "From what I understand, like most of you, I've been sent by someone influential to investigate. My cousin, Lance, in Kanto, in my case." And suddenly, Bri couldn't keep her mouth shut and she replied, "We haven't all been sent her by big important people, but thank you very much for making that assumption." she said with some sarcasm, but trying to keep her tone as light as possible. Her comment was disregarded and Vance continued to speak, "Anyone else hungry? I'm starving. I've been riding all day. There any good places to eat here or are we already dipping into our supplies?"

Before Bri could make another sarcastic comment, Alice spoke up and told him that they were planning to go eat and Vance replied, telling them that he already had a place in mind and informed them that he wasn't so great at cooking. 'I bet that's no all you're "not that great at",' Bri thought to herself, but she thought that it was a bit too mean to say out loud, so she kept the comment to herself.

Vance then proceeded to let his Toxicroak out and he said something about the Pokemon being good with remembering faces, but the comment sounded a lot like the man was bragging about his Pokemon, so Bri chose to ignore him. The Toxicroak took a look at her face and then to Eona who temporarily ceased her chewing on the food to glare at the Pokemon. She was a normally happy Pokemon, but when it came to food, Eona was very protective and she didn't like anyone or any Pokemon eyeing her food.

Bri looked up from the Eevee and back to the group, saying, "I'm a bit hungry too and I know some of my other Pokemon at as well. We can sit and eat for a little, but I think that we should probably get going soon." She looked around, hoping that the others were thinking the same thing and was relieved with Joey piped up, saying that he agreed. Of course she was hungry after not eating since she got on the boat from Kalos to Petalburg, but she wanted to start the journey as soon as possible. She especially wanted to meet this new trainer that Tyler had mentioned and she didn't think that they should keep her waiting.

Joey couldn't help the smirk as the shirtless trainer -Brawl- produced a clean shirt from his bag and put it on, attempting to explain his lack of a shirt and only succeeding in sounding more ridiculous. Joey almost wanted to laugh, but he decided to spare the guy the embarrassment and besides, he didn't want to make fun of him so early on in their time together. "Being related to someone famous isn't all it's cracked up to be. I don't actually know Flannery. We moved to Kalos before I was old enough to actually remember her. So I was trained by her good friend, Korrina, the Gym Leader of Shalour City, where I'm from. All I know about Flannery is that she's a hot-head and probably wishes I would have grown up to be a Fire Pokémon Trainer like her." Joey nodded, appreciating Brawl's effort to make him feel less tense about the situation -although Joey couldn't help but notice that he was more talking to Bri than he was talking to Joey. Still, he appreciated the effort to make them all feel a bit more equal. Tyler also spoke up on the subject, speaking about how she didn't really know her grandfather that well. Joey nodded, showing that he was fine with it. He hadn't been too worried about not being related to anyone special. He knew that he was smart and he was a decent enough trainer, and to him, the people you were related to had nothing to do with what kind of a trainer you became.

Joey looked over to the blonde trainer as he spoke up, "To all the new faces, I'm Magnus." He continued on to introduce his Pokemon, a Metagross and an Aron, but Joey only half paid attention to their names, knowing that he most likely would not remember them later on -which is why he had not told them Ace's name either. "Cynthia is my aunt and well she basically sent me here to do some research on these legendaries. I have a feeling she may be 'stalking' us along the way. If I know my auntie Cynthia, she can't stay away from a legendary Pokemon mystery." Joey's brow furrowed for a moment. So this guy was the nephew to Sinnoh's champion. Joey wondered whether this guy had been trained by his aunt. Was he as good as she was? Joey was quickly pulled out of his musing as the guy -Magnus- pulled out a box of Pokemon food and began to talk; however, Joey's attention was on Ace whose talons were digging into his shoulder. It was clear to Joey that the bird wanted to eat some of the food as well, but was nervous about getting too close to the other Pokemon that were near the box, so she stayed perched on Joey's shoulder, watching the box of food. Joey would have said something to the Fletchinder, but he understood what she wanted and he knew that telling her to go and eat would do nothing for it.

Joey's mind was pulled from the thoughts of his Fletchinder when Brawl turned to Tyler to ask about the other trainer she had spoken of. "Yes! Supposedly she's interested in discovering more about Pokémon, and my grandfather said that it would be good for her to get out." Joey was about to say something on the topic when Bri spoke up, saying exactly what he was about to say. "So, she's a new trainer then?" The short girl seemed oddly intrigued and excited about this prospect of a new trainer joining them, and although Joey was a bit curious, he was far from excited. Why would a new trainer want to come on such a mysterious and potentially dangerous trip? It was odd, but Joey settled for simply meeting the trainer before making his judgement.

Joey was a bit surprised as a new trainer with black hair, riding atop a large Zebstrika approached the group. "So, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that you're the group of trainers I'm supposed to meet. Petalburg? Check. Pokémon? Check. Up-and-coming trainers? Check on that, too." Joey was a bit put off by this guy's introduction. He seemed very confident and sure of himself -which made Joey a bit uncomfortable- and he had called them "up-and-coming trainers" -which made Joey more than a bit annoyed. While he did not consider himself a master trainer or champion material, Joey was not some nobody, pulled-off-the-streets trainer. He was a good trainer and this guy sounded a bit like he thought he was better than all of them. "So, legendaries, huh? Neat." He gave a grin to the group and Joey squinted slightly in annoyance. "Oops, where are my manners? I'm Vance Summers." Joey gave an inaudible sigh at this guy's "to-cool-for-you", flippant attitude, but he let it go, knowing that if he let it get to him, he would snap at this guy sometime in their upcoming journey. "From what I understand, like most of you, I've been sent by someone influential to investigate. My cousin, Lance, in Kanto, in my case." To his right, Bri threw in, "We haven't all been sent her by big important people, but thank you very much for making that assumption." Joey almost cheered the girl on for being so openly sarcastic with this guy when they had only just met him. He settled for a smirk in her direction and then turned his attention back to Vance who continued to speak as if no one had said anything, "Anyone else hungry? I'm starving. I've been riding all day. There any good places to eat here or are we already dipping into our supplies?"

Once again, Joey stopped himself from showing any sign of his annoyance at this guy's attitude. He had only just got here and he was already acting like they all knew each other. Joey was happy when Alice answered for the group. Vance replied and then proceeded to release his Toxicroak, speaking to it as if it were a person -which Joey had to admit that he sometimes did to his Pokemon. He found it funny that this guy's Toxicroak had the same name as his Raichu -who he had admittedly named when he was only Joey's attention was only thirteen. He absentmindedly wondered if this would ever get confusing in the future when they had the two Pokemon out together. Joey's attention then drawn to Bri as she spoke up, "I'm a bit hungry too and I think Eona here is too. We can sit and eat for a little, but I think that we should probably get going soon."

Joey nodded and replied to what the white-haired girl was saying, "Yeah, I agree. I mean getting food is a good idea, but... Especially if there's another trainer waiting for us."
Joey proceeded to shrug, letting them know that it was only a suggestion. In truth, Joey was a bit hurried to get on with the journey. He was hungry and he had promised his other Pokemon some food, but he also wanted to get on the road as soon as possible.

Magnus jolted at the mention of the Battle Diner. "No way they have a battle diner here?! We gotta go, all of us!" Magnus smirked slightly while folding his arms. "The foods great and all but it gives us a chance to battle some of the best of the best. Maybe even some friendly competition between us all huh?" He looked at Vance and nodded. "Good mention. The only thing im worried about is if my aunt shows up... She's weird like that." He then shook his head out of the thought. "So anyone know where this Battle Diner might be location? Im inchin for a match.. And food.. Mostly food though." He then yelled loudly as the Arom began to chump on his head again. "Hey quit that! Were gonna get you some food! Just calm down." He jumped off of his Metagross and placed the hungry Aron on it's back. The Aron playfully pouted as if it wanted to eat his head but Magnus wouldn't allow that. He nodded to his Metagross who knew to do whatever he could to keep the baby pokemon safe. "Should w e maybe ask around a bit or just look for some information? Oh wait even better. Anyone got a map on them?" He hadn't thought about bringing a map; which would have been a ridiculous idea not to. He would just buy one any chance he had.

"There's a Battle Diner here in Petalburg, but the most well-known one is in Rustboro!" Tyler spoke up. "If we go to the one in Rustboro, we can also meet up with the trainer that's there who is coming with us. It'd probably be helpful for her to see some real battling, too!" Tyler smiled with her eyes, and Dusty cooed again at the Pyroar. "I have a map with me, but I know Littleroot to Rustboro pretty well. We'll have to go through Petalburg Woods to get to Rustboro," Tyler said, pausing for a moment. She pulled some Repels out of her bag. "These are Max Repels. There's one for each of us, and they'll get us through Petalburg Woods without us having to stop for Wild Pokémon!" Tyler smiled, glad she'd thought to bring them.

"Shall we get going ?" Tyler asked, leading the way to Petalburg Woods.

When the group arrived in Rustboro, Tyler looked at the map she was given by her grandfather. He'd marked the trainer's house on it, so that she'd be able to find it fairly quickly once the group had arrived. "Come on, guys! It's this way," she said, leading the group toward the trainer's home. When they arrived, Tyler folded her map up and stuck it back into her pocket. She knocked on the door three times and waited patiently for an answer.

"Hello?" she called through the door. "We're the trainers that you're going to be with!" Tyler hoped that they were home, but even more so, she hoped that they could hear her.

Mary slowly opened her eyes. She was lying on her bed overtop of the covers. After she'd completely cleaned up her room, she had laid down on her bed and daydreamed and it seemed she began to actually dream as well, but she was woken up by knocking. Daiyousei was at the foot of the bed playing around with her socked feet.

"Hello?" a girl's voice called from the door, "We're the trainers that you're going to be with!" "Ah, just wait a second, please!" Mary called, although it was unlikely that she would be heard from her bedroom. Mary got up and brushed her hands through her hair before rushing down to answer the door.

She opened the door to greet the trainers. There were quite a few of them. "Ah, you're-you're the, uh... the, um..." she stuttered but then bowed, "Hello, thanks for taking my parents request, I'm glad you've been able to find the house. You're the ones from Unova, right?" some of them certainly looked foreign, Mary could tell, "My, uh, parents aren't here to greet you, unfortunately, but if you'd like, you could wait for my Mother who will be home at..." Mary wondered exactly what time it was by then, "Or I could just leave with you now, if that's, um, what you're planning?" she said it like a question. "Although, you'll have to excuse me, I wasn't- I didn't know if or when I'd be getting visitors or when you'd be coming. I could, um, I could invite you inside of course."

"Oh hush, I'm enjoying this just as much as you are Tyson. I'm sorry that we are the run from those boat people, but I think they are just being jerks about the whole situation. I said I was sorry, shouldn't that be enough? At least you enjoy being underground - my mouth is beginning to taste like dir-" Samson was cut off from a glob of moist dirt smacking him in his face. His eyes lay half open and he puffed out his cheeks to express his frustration towards his Piloswine. "Hey buddy, I know you are only doing what I asked you to do," Samson was saying with a soft voice as he wiped the dirt slowly off his face, "but could you learn to aim anywhere else that isn't in my general direction!"
Samson's serious tone frightened Piloswine enough to send it in a frantic attempt to run away from its trainer by burrowing towards the surface, despite Samson meaning nothing by it. As Piloswine sped away in a cloud of dust, Samson furiously crawled after his Pokemon in the crammed tunnel. "No! W-Wait! Come back! I didn't mean it!" Despite his efforts to calm Piloswine down, Tyson was making a beeline towards the surface with no sign of slowing down. Samson was only barely faster than him, so he was slowly able to close the gap between them.
After several seconds of frantic crawling, Piloswine was stopped by something as it rammed against the wall it was digging against. "Alright Tyson, I got you now." As Samson encroached on his location, Piloswine quickly turned around to see him with a terrified look on its face. With a loud squeal it jumped around again and bashed against the roof of the tunnel. Samson quickly dove for him, grabbing onto Piloswine as he busted through the roof of the tunnel - or rather the floor to a house.
Coming out of the tunnel, flying in the air after diving for Piloswine, Samson glances to his left to see a rather plain looking girl standing at the doorway greeting several other people of varying appearances. His smirk from grabbing Piloswine quickly turned into a panicked look as he smashed into the wall, slowly sliding down it with the Pokemon in his arms. Once he hit the floor Piloswine began to cuddle his trainer, completely forgetful of what previously transpired in the caves.
