Description

Image

Dialogue Color: #A32727

Title/Alias/Nickname: Hunter of Dallea

Age: 30

Gender: Male

Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual

Occupation: Bounty Hunter

Personality: Adrien is incredibly cold, quiet, and rather aloof. He doesn't exactly enjoy being around a lot of people, unless he knows them well enough. He's known to be rather harsh and inhumane towards Gijinka, treating them as though they're animals. He has a strong hate for them, especially after he received the burn he has around his left eye. He isn't very friendly to newcomers in the "Hunters of Dallea," seeing them as weak and annoying. He likes working solo, and sees that as when he works best, though if he must, he will work with a team. He's easily motivated by money, and is annoyed when he isn't given a good offer for whatever he's going after. He seems to be very sure of himself, thinking he can take on anything without the help of others, though that isn't always true. Adrien is very blunt as well, giving out his opinion without a second thought. He's usually seen with a cigarette in his mouth.

Strengths:
Leadership
  • Despite how cold and rude Adrien is, he does make a good leader, and usually can get those under his command to follow him and/or what he says.
Persistence
  • Adrien is known for finishing what he starts; especially when it comes to hunting Gijinka.
Stealthy
  • Adrien, due to all his time in hunting, is pretty stealthy, able to move around without being heard for the most part.
Weaknesses:
Blunt
  • Adrien is rather blunt, and it often offends people, the things he says. (not that he cares)
Cold
  • Adrien is rather cold, and often makes people around him feel nervous, as though they're always doing something wrong. He has hardly any friends because of it.
Short Temper
  • Adrien tends to get easily angered by simple things, and will snap at people he is annoyed with. He hardly ever apologizes for it.
Pokémon:
  • Luxray - Thunderbolt, Crunch, Protect, Wild Charge
  • Weavile - Metal Claw, Night Slash, Dark Pulse, Ice Beam
  • Pyroar - Flamethrower, Endeavor, Fire Fang, Retaliate
  • Haxorus - Outrage, Dragon Claw, Poison Jab, Rock Slide
  • Gallade - Leaf Blade, Close Combat, Psycho Cut, Shadow Ball
  • Noivern - Dragon Pulse, Fly, Boomburst, Psychic
Appearance: Adrien reaches 6'1" in height, and 160 pounds in weight. He has a burn around his right eye, which he received from a Gijinka he tried to catch.

A long, annoying day, with no luck on hearing of any Gijinka where-abouts, and not exactly seeing any of them wandering around anywhere else either. Adrien had been to all sorts of places today...the center of Cobrapeak, Lapras Beach...he'd even tried getting into Merrima Village, though was quickly chased out as a group of people saw him suspicious, and one of them, by some kind of stupid luck, recognized who he was. Who knows where the guy'd seen him, Adrien was normally pretty good at keeping a low profile when doing his work.

The HQ was rather empty at the moment, other than one other person looking through their laptop and had notes set in front of them, and a Gijinka they had caged up in a corner, still unconscious from the run-in he'd had with one of the other bounty hunters, which was fine of course.

After several more minutes of sitting at his desk and flipping through papers, Adrien stood up and grabbed his cigarette pack, heading to the front door.

"I'll be outside for a while." He mumbled to the person sitting inside, and then left the building without waiting for a reply from them, and then stopped, leaning against the wall of the building, and opening the pack before sliding one out. Sticking it between his lips for a moment, he fished out the lighter in his pocket and lit the end, taking in a breath before letting out a long sigh, a cloud of smoke seeping out of his mouth. A disappointing day it had been, to say the least, though perhaps, by some kind of luck, someone would message him in or a notification would come on to his phone about a sighting somewhere...besides Merrima Village, of course...and he would at least get to do something mildly entertaining before the day ended.

Sparta didn't accept help lightly, but as the Stantler gijinka emerged from the treeline to join her two Ursaring gijinka opponents, she considered pulling back to the HQ. She knew that it was a couple miles, maybe someone there would notice if she raised enough of a racket. So far the gijinka had knocked out her Hawlucha, and the appearance of the second had finished off Lucario. She didn't have Blaziken with her currently, she'd left him at the HQ. So now it was just her versus three gijinka.

Aiming a powerful kick at the new Stantler, the Hunter hoped that anyone- even a trainer or something- would notice her predicament. Sparta connected, hearing a very satisfactory crunch as the deer-boy crumpled, a couple newly-broken ribs keeping him down for the count. Yanking her phone out of her bag, she dialed the first number she remembered- a fellow Hunter by the name of Adrien Murkos, she believed. "Small woods outside of Cobrapeak. Stantler, two Ursaring. No Pokemon. Send help-" she babbled out, the call ended abruptly by an Ursaring charging and sending her flying backwards. The male of the two bears was massive; a bulky man-creature with unending physical strength. She hissed at the pain, watching in horror as the female crushed the small device under a clawed foot. Hopefully Adrien could get himself in gear before she was bear food.

Adrien's smoking came to an abrupt end as he felt his phone vibrating in his pocket, to which he easily pulled out, lifting it up to the front of him. His eyebrow raised as he heard the shouting on the other end, listening for a moment, until it came to a sudden end. It took him a moment to process what she'd just said before he realized who it was calling, recognizing the number to be Sparta's. He wasn't particularly friendly with her, but she seemed to do well enough as a Hunter, something he'd come to appreciate. He found her more of an acquaintance...a dedicated co-worker? Something along those lines.

"The woods outside of Cobrapeak, huh?" He mumbled to himself, tossing the half finished cigarette he'd used onto the ground, crushing it beneath his feet to put it out. "Seems good enough. May as we'll of ahead and help her."

He reached back onto the belt that sat on his waist, unhooking one of the Pokéballs that hung from it before tossing it out in front of him. A small light escaped from the ball, and then fell back into his hand, where he caught it before slipping it away again. A Noivern formed in front of him, letting out its loud cry before moving down to the front of him, stretching out its wings a bit.

"We're heading out to the woods by Cobrapeak." Adrien said, moving over to the Noivern's side and placing a hand on its back. "It isn't that far, so the fly shouldn't be that bad. You can rest for a while after. Let's head out."

Noivern let out another cry, this time one to let Adrien know he was ready, and his trainer jumped onto its back, getting himself comfortable and then holding onto the fur around its neck and leaning forward. A quick pat on the side let the Pokémon know he was ready, and it immediately jumped up into the air until it was above the buildings of Corapeak and making its way over to the woods. Had Adrien been walking, it would have taken longer than was okay, but luckily, they weren't, and in no time they were moving above the trees, searching for any signs of battle going on. It took several minutes, but Noivern soon caught onto a similar sound, and began to move to the left, before Adrien made out the sight of his caller, and three other Gijinka who'd ganged up on her. A ghost of a grin appeared on his face, and Noivern began to lower before they'd easily landed onto the ground, seeming to startle the Gijinka for a moment.

"I got your call." Adrien said, though he kept his eyes on the Gijinka in front of them as he returned Noivern to its Pokéball and reached for two others. "You're lucky I wasn't busy. Use these." He said, tossing the two he'd grabbed over to Sparta, one holding his Luxray, the other his Pyroar. "They should listen to you since I'm here. Now let's hurry up and get this over with." He said, before grabbing two of his own and tossing them out, a Haxorus and a Weavile appearing before they immediately charged, Weavile's claws darkening as it prepared to use Night Slash on the female Ursaring, and Haxorus's turning a dark purple color before it used Dragon Claw, as it charged towards the male.

Sparta was thankful for the speedy arrival of her... co-worker. The Noivern's landing startled the gijinka, allowing the Hunter to scramble to her feet and send a thankful nod to her savior. He mentioned receiving her call, and she was about to actually thank him before he made his trademark snide comment. "You're lucky I wasn't dead." she muttered in annoyance. She would have been a loss for the Hunters, she liked to believe. Agreeing with his rushed sentiment, she caught the two Pokemon and immediately sent them out.

Trying to remember what sort of moves they would have, Sparta commanded them into action. Hopefully instinct would kick in and she wouldn't have to guide them too much, since they weren't hers. Pyroar leapt at the injured Stantler Gijinka, blasting him with something resembling Flamethrower. The deer creature was quickly down for the count, and Pyroar returned to her side. She glanced over at Weavile and Haxorus, admiring the power of the pair and tucking the Pokeballs she currently held into her small bag. Luckily she still held onto that, which was a blessing she'd taken for granted. Luxray had joined Weavile, a physical attack sure to finish off the beast. Fighting was supereffective against Normal, which was frustrating- her Pokemon had been taken down by sheer luck of the opposing Gijinkas. She hadn't counted on all her Pokemon being out for the count, but the Stantler's Zen Headbutt had knocked them over like dominoes.

Watching in satisfaction as the three Pokemon made short work of her cursed foes, she headed over to the unconscious Stantler. She was a bit softer than most, but the Gijinkas had been ruined for her- her father had abandoned his only daughter to study them, and that did leave Sparta with a bit of a grudge. Squatting down to bind up the scrawny deer-boy, she studied his features. They were almost human- but, the Hunter reminded herself, something quite far off and certainly less than. She hoped Adrien had brought something along to transport two (more) massive Gijinkas, as she'd only prepared for one. Standing up and feeling the pains that had been blocked out by adrenaline, Sparta hissed. Rolling her sore shoulders, she looked at her equipment to see what was damaged. Obviously she had no phone, but all her Pokemon were safely in their balls and besides some bruises and cuts, Sparta was pretty much fine. Granted, she needed a hot shower and good night's sleep, but she'd recover. She always did.

"Thanks for helping out." she managed, swallowing her pride and returning his Pokemon to their balls, and then to him. She wasn't too familiar with the man, but she'd heard about Adrien Murkos through whispers and team members. He was a lone wolf, motivated by money and not afraid to tell people what he thought of them. Not an ideal teammate, but Sparta did have some sort of twisted respect for him after saving her life. She sighed, figuring she should head back to the city and get some rest- and a new phone. She doubted this was the last she'd be seeing of him, however.

OOC: Adrien could tag along, or they could get a call while they're out, or we could liquid-time it to another assignment in the city? how would you like to continue this? (or we can end it. I'm good with whatever.)

The notes of the concerto rung out like paradigms of life itself in the dark office of Burton Strange, such an unusual sound to hear in so empty a place. Behind an old wooden desk sat a figure cloaked in shadow, the dull light of a lamp illuminating a fraction of his true features as he stared at the folio in front of him - a collection of data pertaining to Gijinka sightings in the Dallea region. The other hunters were away from HQ, and so he figured it apt to stay here, awaiting information from reliable sources as to the location of valuable specimens.

The day was yet young for the hunters, finding it easier to hunt in daylight for the Gijinka, and Burton eagerly awaited any call at all, in order to forward instructions to the others. Adrien was out, supposedly having been called by one of the other hunters. He did not mind sitting on the sidelines sometimes - it gave him time to reflect on the condition of the world, and whether or not they remained true to their cause. Of course, Burton saw the money shine before his eyes - not the moral compass of the Hunters being slowly twisted to the point of becoming a malevolent evil. Maybe one day he would realise this, but it would not be this day.

His notes included the sightings of pokemon in the past few days, but today there was a recurring message from informants - a Dragonair gijinka had been spotted at Lapras Beach, however, it had vanished before any hunters had arrived at the scene. He figured that it would have fled upstream into the Oneta Forest, but it would be a waste of resources to send the hunters on what could be a wild goose chase... Eventually the gijinka would resurface, and would be caught, just like they always do...

A concerto was drawing to its close, as he sipped a small glass on his desk, filled with what could only be described as an amber draught. It was an old single malt whisky, brewed in the Johto forests, and cask-aged for a decade or more. Whilst it was not one of the most refined whiskys, it was easy enough for Burton to drink whilst studying notes.

Sparta always hated bringing back the Gijinka- it would have been infinitely more bearable, at least, if she'd either had a Pokemon of her own to shoulder the weight- the two Ursaring Gijinka were carried by Adrien's Pokemon, and Sparta carried the scrawny deer boy over her shoulder- she felt some sort of responsibility to carry back the spoils of her hunt. Another downside to pulling up the first number she saw was that despite how helpful Adrien had been in the moment, he hadn't been very chatty or generally nice after the battle.

Rolling her eyes, she focused on the winding alleyways- the Hunters mostly used the back streets so that the majority of the city wasn't bothered or seeing into Hunter business. Looking longingly down a city street, Sparta was so lost in her thoughts that it took her a moment to register the tall black Gijinka ears poking out from under a hoodie. A brunette was helping him up, and they looked to be conversing. "Gijinka alert, Umbreon, talking to brunette girl. Right outside the Pokemart. I'm going in, alert HQ!" she whispered, ending in an over-the-shoulder request. Dropping the lanky boy, she rolled her shoulders and groaned. How was she going to handle this? She'd hardly taken down a couple of Gijinkas moments ago, and now her Pokemon were without health. She took a sharp left into a Pokecenter, reluctantly heading over to the PC and withdrawing her Heracross. The Bug/Fighting was considerably untrained compared to the rest of her team, and she dropped her Pokemon off with the Nurse Joy, hoping that the two were still chatting it up. Briefly wondering what Adrien had done at her swift exit, she headed over toward the pair. She coughed gently, trying to appear as helpful as possible as to not startle the Umbreon Gijinka. She recognized his face from the countless posters she'd helped to hang up.

"Excuse me miss, I'm with the Cobrapeak Security and I need to ask you to please step away, this man is a wanted criminal and you are in serious danger." She glanced at the Gijinka, throwing out her Heracross and hoping to Arceus that it was a bit more cooperative than it had been. "Heracross, use Take Down! Neutralize the threat!" Wondering briefly if Adrien would show up to help, Sparta hoped that the girl hadn't been deceived by the Gijinka and would turn on her. The passerby were interested but not enough to make a scene, and if Heracross cooperated, this would be over with quick and she'd be getting quite the reward.

A look of momentary surprise came to Kenji's face as she denied any knowing of all the things he'd said. She hadn't even heard a single thing of all of those? He expected her to at least know one thing, but nothing? Did she live an isolated life?

"Well," he began, taking in a quiet breath, "let me educate you a little bit on what's going on here in Dallea." He paused for a moment, wondering if his decision to continue talking to her was a good one. He lowered his voice even more, not wanting anyone to hear any part of this conversation. "I'm a Gijinka. You saw the ears on my head. Did they resemble any kind of Pokémon to you? If you guessed an Umbreon, then you're right." He said. "A Gijinka, to say the least, is a mix of human and Pokémon. Our kind is seen as trash, or expendable by this region. The DISR is a scientific organization that likes to study us, without our consent, taking us off the streets and doing whatever they want with us. I...I'm not going into detail with that." He said, breaking eye contact with Jaime, an almost painful expression coming to his face. "Another organization, the Hunters of Dallea. They work a lot with the DISR, or anyone that's searching for one of my kind. They were recently set up, and to say the least, they're bounty hunters who hunt and catch us for money before sending us away to whoever is offering the most money." His expression changed to a look of disgust.

"My face is on posters?" Kenji suddenly said as she mentioned it, and he looked around at the crowd once again, making eye contact with one or two people who passed by them. "That's just wonderful." He hissed. A nervous sweat began to break out over his forehead, and he quickly brushed it away with his jacket's sleeve, looking down at the ground. It definitely wasn't something he couldn't ignore. How many people had passed by him and the girl and recognized his face from the posters?

"You're right." He muttered under his breath. "I need to get out of here."

Almost as if on que, The voice of a woman cut through their conversation, and Kenji's concentration moved from Jamie to the new person. His eyes widened as she talked, and he quickly took a step back before she sent out her Heracross. The people who had been in close began to make room to avoid getting caught in with the group, some jogging up ahead to get out of the way.

It seemed fast, and he felt as though he hardly had time to react or jump out of the way. He immediately felt a stabbing pain against his stomach, and he let out a pained yell, before finding himself rolling across the sidewalk, people jumping out of the way to avoid getting hit by him. He finally managed to stop himself from getting thrown out too far, his hands digging at the ground. He struggled for a breath of air, letting out harsh coughs, before forcing himself up, a hand gripping onto his new wound; it would definitely leave a nasty bruise.

His eyes focused immediately on the two new threats. Focusing on the Heracross first would be the best decision. Then, once the attacker's defense was gone, he would just have to hope she had no more Pokémon, and he would go after her. He gritted his teeth in pain before charging forward, moving his hands out to his sides, the ends turning a dark purple. If he could poison the Heracross, it would at least slowly weaken it.

As he got closer, he raised his hands and swung out at the Pokémon, moving his hands in an X shape, hoping to at least make some kind of contact.

The pain in the young man's eyes was brutally apparent, as he talked about his breed, and those who wished harm upon him. Jaime listened intently, her mind telling her that he was dangerous, but something else inside her saying that he was not a threat to the public without being provoked. She felt sorry for him, and from his explanation, for others who were like him - how many others would suffer or have suffered abduction and abuse from these 'hunters'? The very thought made her sick to the core.

"You're right." He muttered under his breath. "I need to get out of here."

"If we head out of here, I can give you a lift to whereever you need to go." Jaime offered, glancing around the crowd, however, the man's attention was drawn to a figure approaching Jaime from the side, and as she turned to see an eccentrically dressed woman, with long, braided, blonde and brown hair, charging towards them.

"Excuse me miss, I'm with the Cobrapeak Security and I need to ask you to please step away, this man is a wanted criminal and you are in serious danger."

Before Jaime had time to react, the woman had pulled out a ball, and launched it towards the ground near the gijinka, summoning her Heracross, and almost immediately, she found herself subconsciously reaching for her own pokeballs. Her hand clenched on one of them, and as the Heracross moved to take down the gijinka, knocking him to the floor, she plucked it away from the holder and launched it.

"Charizard! Use flamethrower on that Heracross! Protect that man!"

Charizard growled as he stretched his wings, took a breath, and unleashed a stream of flames at the giant beetle. Jaime hoped that it would at least scare off the assailant bug pokemon. Many bystanders took this opportunity to flee from the conflict, as Jaime's attention turned to the woman, her hand reaching for another ball - Skarmory.

"You know, you don't really look like a police officer..."

Sparta watched in frustration as the Umbreon Gijinka got up after Heracross's Take Down attack, his stomach having been hit but unfortunately not enough to disable him. She growled under her breath as the Trainer sent out a Charizard, the large orange dragon sending a stream of flames towards the Heracross. The bug Pokemon leapt out of the way of the fire, the flames only catching the horn of the Pokemon. However, Heracross's movement had put the Umbreon Gijinka closer, and the man's claws scratched against Heracross's exoskeleton, the poison attack bouncing off of the insect's thick armor. Heracross stumbled from its fire injury, and Sparta quickly commanded it to use Rock Slide against the Charizard. She didn't want to pit herself against the Trainer, but the Charizard would only get in the way. Hopefully the attack against Kenji could put him down long enough for Heracross to get Charizard out of the way. "Miss, please do not fight me, I am trying to protect you from this outlaw. Whatever he told you was simply to try and get you on his side- he's known to be very deceptive. I am currently undercover with the law to keep order, please cooperate with me miss!" Sparta tried to keep the woman from throwing out another Pokemon, wishing that the woman would just get out of the way so she could neutralize the Gijinka.

Kenji's eyes seemed to widen with surprise as Jaime sent out her Charizard. Was she, a human, siding with him? It definitely didn't feel real, almost like a dream...

He quickly shook his head, the Toxic attack wearing off. He struggled to keep himself up, taking a couple steps back to make some space between him and the enemy. His legs shook, and if he'd have eaten anything today, he would have lost it all after he'd gotten hit. The pain still wasn't exactly that comfortable either, and it made it hard to move around.

"Ergh..." He let out a hiss of pain, falling down onto one knee for a moment, glaring over at Sparta. He let out a heavy breath, and then forced himself back up, beginning to charge up a Dark Pulse. His eyes locked onto the Heracross, the target of his attack.

"I'm deceptive? A liar?" Kenji snapped. "And you're undercover with the law? You're trying to protect her?" His anger was rising at each word. "That's all bullshit! I wouldn't lie about my kind's situation! The most harm I've done to her is yelled at her a couple times! You aren't undercover, you're probably a fucking hunter!" He yelled, before sending out a sudden dark blast, aiming for Sparta this time instead of her Heracross partner.

The Heracross' Rock Slide attack swept Charizard backwards, knocking him down, but not out. Jaime growled under her breath, her hand firmly gripping Skarmory's ball before launching it out to take on Heracross from above; the fighting bug stood no chance against attacks from the air, she thought.

"Skarmory!" Jaime yelled. "Use Drill Peck on that overgrown bug!"

Skarmory spiralled into the air from her ball, before diving towards Heracross at extreme speed, razor sharp beak primed for impact. The gijinka had returned to his feet, albeit in a bit of stupor, but he quickly started to charge an attack at the bug, before firing a blast of purple and red light at the woman who was attacking him. Jaime took a step back, a little stunned to see such power come from a humanoid body. As if to snap her out of her awe, Charizard growled behind her, the injured dragon returning to his feet - she turned, moving towards him, placing a hand on his chest.

"Come on, pal. Back on your feet - it ain't over yet."

With a roar, Charizard finally gets to his feet, ready to jump back into the fight if he is needed. She couldn't help but feel like they were in a hornet's nest, if the gijinka was telling the truth. It wouldn't be long before more 'hunters' would arrive. Even if he was lying to her, the only out now was to escape the city, and quickly, before more of the security force arrived.

The door to the Hunters HQ suddenly opened, interrupting Burton's music and likely well earned relaxing time. Adrien came through the door next, one Gijinka slung over his shoulder, the other being dragged over the ground with his free hand. It took a moment for the hunter to realize that there was another there, and he lifted his head to look over at Burton, letting out a quiet "oh," before he made his way further in, tossing the unconscious Gijinka into their cages, moving back to the outside and grabbing the other one.

"How long've you been here for, Burton?" He said, moving farther in with the Gijinka before setting it in a seperate cage than the other two. "Not that that matters. We have a situation with an Umbreon Gijinka, aparently Sparta recognized him." He turned to Burton after locking the two cages. "It's just outside of the HQ, in the Cobrapeak streets. Sparta, the hunter that called me, is taking care of it right now, but I get the feeling that she needs help. She failed to take care of these three." He paused.

"I'm going back to be sure that she makes it out alive. Join me if you want." He said, turning towards the door. "So I'm leaving again, I'll be back in a couple minutes."

Burton gathered his notes, finished his whisky, and filed the papers away in the drawers at the side of his desk, before striding towards the door of his office, the music still playing calming piano tones which reverberated into the main lobby of the HQ. He opened the door, stepped out, and looked around, hoping that someone had kept their ears to the radio for more sightings in this last half hour - it seemed that he was the only one still in the building.

The door burst open, as Adrien kicked the door in, dragging two bodies with him through the doorway. Upon seeing Burton, he let out a quiet "...oh..."

Burton cast a glance over the two gijinka he had in his possession. "I see you've been busy, Adrien." He placed his right elbow in his left hand, his right hand starting to stroke his beard, as Adrien dumped the bodies into a cage towards the back wall. "They're not fantastic specimens, are they? I suppose they'll fetch a fair enough price, anyway..."

Adrien stepped back outside, only to return a few seconds later with another body, which, hidden by his glasses, and hand across his mouth, filled Burton with mild surprise. He must have had help, surely... Dumping the third body into another cage, Adrien headed back toward the entrance, explaining the situation in Cobrapeak's streets unfolding right now.

"Hmmph... I've been blessed with the task of defending the HQ from intruders, and listening in for gijinka sightings all morning, thanks to you and the others..." Burton mildly growled. "The most action there has been on the radio came from a place called Lapras Beach - quaint little place, so I hear; never been - anyway... there was an unusual specimen sighted - a Dragonair gijinka, swimming in the shallows. Unfortunately, it got away before any hunters could arrive."

Burton started to head towards the door as well. "The Umbreon has eluded us for a long time, right under our noses, which is no mean feat..." He stated after Adrien locked the cages. "Sparta is full of spirit, but she is a liability - too eager to fight. Hopefully the girl can put in a decent effort against a single gijinka... Let's go."

He followed Adrien out of the HQ, ready to take on the Umbreon gijinka, the music continuing to play out in the background.

Sparta's eyes narrowed dangerously as the Umbreon Gijinka stripped away at her cover story, deciding that the Trainer had never believed it anyway and the only thing left to do now was fight and hope that Adrien had gotten his sorry self back to HQ and had backup on the way. She watched Kenji's hands darken with energy, her gaze locked on him until the Charizard landed on the ground. She smirked at Heracross's perfect cooperation so far, guessing it wasn't long before the Pokemon went solo- But with the look on the tall male's face, it seemed that this new independence would allow her to deal with the real threat here. The Trainer let out a Skarmory, and Sparta cursed under her breath. The Drill Peck attack was likely far too quick for Heracross to dodge, and it would knock him out on impact. She yelled at the Pokemon to move, but it didn't do any good- Skarmory's attack threw Heracross back, rendering him unconscious. She returned the bug Pokemon to its ball just in time to see the orange dragon recover. She was about to look for something else to aid her when the energy that Kenji had been charging hit her full-on. Coughing and spluttering, the hunter looked up with a murderous gaze. She pulled out Adrien's two Pokemon, hoping to occupy the Trainer while she took down the Gijinka. "Luxray, use Thunderbolt! Pyroar, Flamethrower!" Sparta hoped that the Pokemon knew these moves or something similar, and was rewarded with a stroke of luck when the Pokemon launched their attacks. Glee filled her for a moment as she watched Luxray release a bolt of electricity towards the Skarmory, and Pyroar leap into action against CHarizard. Turning her sights back to Kenji, she sprinted at him with her infamous speed and launched a powerful kick, hoping to follow it up with a flurry of Dizzy Punches. She could hold off for a while, but not long enough. Sparta hated it, but she hoped reinforcements were on the way.

A feeling of satisfaction graced Kenji for a moment, a pained grin coming across his face. He'd finally managed to get at least one successful hit, even though he'd only struck out twice, and it seemed to have done at least some damage. He let out a heavy breath as he backed up a little bit further. There was definitely going to be reinforcements arriving sooner or later, and if even one more person showed up, it would likely destroy him and Jaime's chances of winning. If he could just make a break for it and get far enough away from the fight...

He turned his head to look behind himself, seeing if perhaps by any luck there was somewhere he could slip away and easily lose the hunter, though knew immediately that losing his concentration on the battle was an awful decision. By the time he'd looked back, the woman was charging at him, and with an insane speed as well. He quickly began trying to charge up another Dark Pulse, but it was obvious he was too late. Trying to move out of the way of her kick only made things worse, and her foot came into contact with his side, basically on top of his other wound he'd recieved from his Heracross. He let out a pained yell before falling onto the ground once again, a hand gripping onto his side as he let out several coughs. When he looked back up at her, it was obvious she was readying yet another attack, and he quickly rolled out of the way, barely dodging her punches. His eyes widened for a moment, and then he quickly swung his foot out in an attempt to perhaps catch Sparta's ankle and trip her up and onto the ground, perhaps giving him a better chance to send out another attack, or at least set some distance between them.

Luxray's Thunder Bolt caught Skarmory square in the chest as it returned through the air towards Jaime, sending the metal bird spiralling to the ground, its wings paralyzed by the shock. It landed in a heap near the entrance of the Pokemart. Charizard meanwhile found himself pushing forward into the stream of flames spouting from Pyroar's mouth, the two fire pokemon unlikely to deal much damage towards each other, however, Charizard was starting to look weary.

After bringing the downed Skarmory back to her pokeball, Jaime pulled out the ball for Metang. This fight has gone on for long enough, thought Jaime, her attention shifting to the Gijinka, desperately fighting the hunter amidst the chaos.

"Hey, gijinka!" Jaime cried out to him, as she moved closer to Charizard. "I hope you have good balance! Go Metang!" She threw the ball out into the middle of the street, and climbed on to Charizard's back. "Use Earthquake! Come on, Charizard, let's fly!"

The Charizard took off from the ground while it began to rumble, as Metang started punching the ground in reverberating pulses, with enough force to shake people off their feet. Charizard circled overhead, waiting for an opportunity to pick up the Gijinka from below.

Sparta grinned wickedly as her foot connected with the Gijinka's side, feeling him crumple in pain from the dual infliction of wounds in that spot. She landed elegantly, her punches whizzing around him but barely missing; a disadvantage of battling such creatures was their inhuman speed. Allowing her gaze to briefly snap to the loud noise as the Trainer's Skarmory crashed to the ground, she felt the Gijinka's foot sweep her off balance and to the ground. Cursing her distraction, the Hunter launched herself at the Gijinka again, prepared to fire off another round of punches and perhaps a well-aimed kick for the delinquent.

She heard the Trainer call out to the Umbreon Gijinka, and Sparta gritted her teeth. She was forced to make a move- commanding Pyroar to change his focus to the Steel/Psychic, she quickly assessed the likeliness of taking out the bird-like Pokemon. Watching as the Trainer's Charizard leapt into the air, she quickly glared back at the Gijinka. The Metang then began to punch the earth, causing it to rumble under her feet, giving the Umbreon a moment to escape as she stumbled. This sort of offense could land the Trainer into serious trouble with actual law enforcement- with the Umbreon Gijinka behind bars, she wouldn't have to worry about him being a nuisance anymore. Sparta made a move to pursue the pair, hoping desperately now that reinforcements were on the way and she wouldn't look ridiculous fighting this losing battle. Neither Pyroar nor Luxray could properly follow the Charizard- the flying dragon would be far too quick to follow on foot. Sparta was ready to make some sacrifices- she would not let this be her second failure of the day.

Kenji grinned yet again, though it seemed much weaker this time, and he let out a small laugh through gritted teeth, though stayed on the ground. It was getting harder to move now, and that could only mean bad things. To think I'd be caught so off guard like this, and now I'm being defeated so easily...what happened to my luck from before? It used to be so easy getting away from them...

He reacted as quickly as he could when he found himself being attacked yet again, barely a chance to try and catch his breath. He tried to get onto his hands and knees to maybe get out of the way, though the kick landed square on his back, and he found himself on the ground yet again, though it seemed not for long this time.

His eyes shifted up at Jaime as she spoke, rather confused from his spot on the ground at what she meant. "Balance? What does that matter on solid ground?" He muttered under his breath, but his confusion was quickly cast aside as he realized what she was doing. The shaking of the road and sidewalk beneath Kenji caught him off guard, though finally found his chance as the Hunter stumbled away from him. He quickly began to try and crawl away, though still found it hard, if he could at least make some distance, perhaps the girl would come and grab him. Then he'd know he'd be safe...

His eyes widened suddenly as a new voice came from a little ways away, and he knew all to well what it meant.

"Hmph, seems like we've missed quite a bit."

He couldn't say he'd expected him and Burton to find Sparta and the Gijinka she'd seen so easily, but Adrien wasn't going to complain about it either. It had only taken them fifteen to twenty minutes at the most...the yelling and the sudden rumbling of the ground had given away their location so obviously, he was surprised there wasn't already ten other hunters and the law enforcement surrounding them by now.

"Hmph, seems like we've missed quite a bit." He muttered, looking over the place from the spot where he stood. He spotted the Gijinka laying a little ways away, injured well enough that this could be a quick fight, so maybe Sparta wasn't as much of a hopeless case as he thought...but he found the trainer in the air with her Charizard soon enough after, planting his cold stare on the girl. "Though it looks as though we've got another to deal with as well." He noted her off, a hint of annoyance in his voice. What was she thinking...a human girl, helping a Gijinka? Was she from around here, or perhaps from Merrima? Whatever it was, she was simply going to get in the way, and he didn't enjoy obstacles in the ay of his work. So, he'd get rid of her, just like he would with anything and anyone else.

"I'll take care of the girl; you do what you want, Burton."

Seeming to keep his balance pretty well despite the tremors of the earthquake attack coming from Metang, Adrien took several steps forward before planting his feet carefully onto the ground, and then grabbing Noivern's Pokéball from his belt, tossing it into the air. While he knew it wasn't exactly a great type match up and put him at the disadvantage for the moment, he could see the exhaustion in the Charizard, and if he could just get it to land onto the ground, he could have the upper hand with his other Pokémon he still had on him.

"Noivern," Adrien spoke out to his Pokémon, who was flapping impatiently in the air, "Charizard is the target of your attack...try not to kill the girl in the process. Get in as close as you can before using Dragon Pulse."

Soon enough, Noivern had jumped up into the air, getting up to level with the Charizard and its female trainer, and then finally, flying towards them with a dark sphere making shape in front of its mouth. It let out a high, shrill cry before sending off its attack, aimed directly at the pair. Adrien, in the meantime, watched the girl and the Charizard without his cold expression having changed in the slightest.

Following Adrien through the twisting streets of Cobrapeak, Burton noticed a strange quietness; the normally bustling lanes lay deserted... and as they hurried further into the city center, they soon realised why. Sparta had indeed confronted the gijinka, and all they needed to do now, was follow the sounds of roaring pokemon, energy blasts and earthquakes. Hopefully Adrien and himself wouldn't have to deal with the law enforcement as well...

Soon, they stumbled upon the scene - a cloaked figure resting on the ground, a young hunter recoiling from her wounds, a Metang pounding the ground, sending tremors beneath Burton's feet, and in the sky above, a young girl, riding a Charizard, swooping down towards the center of the street, at first seeming to target Sparta, but moving closer to the figure on the ground, who must obviously be the Umbreon gijinka. Burton let out a growl under his breath as Adrien moved to engage her. "Foolish girl... don't let her take the Umbreon!" Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a ball for Hawlucha, and sent him out. "Hawlucha! Subdue the gijinka!"

The fighting bird flew out of the ball to the street, towards the man finding his feet once again, and attempted to use Acrobatics on the target. Burton cast a glance up to the trainer, as Adrien's Noivern unleashed its fury.

Charizard's first pass to pick up the gijinka failed, as he was unable to get close enough to grab him. Climbing back into the air, he circled to make another pass, thankfully, without coming under attack from the hunter.

Jaime watched the street below as two more figures joined the scene - men in their thirties, dressed in formal, sinister-looking attire - more hunters perhaps? As if to answer her own question, a new pokemon joined the fray, taking to the sky to greet them - a Noivern. Charizard could fight him on a good day, but it was too risky, and frankly too much to ask of a weary friend. She rubbed the neck of the winged pokemon gently, and said calmly, "Let it come closer. When it charges an attack, drop below it. You can do it!"

Charizard began to hover in place as Noivern approached, letting out a low growl, and spreading his wings to create a backdraft, and pose a bigger target for the foe. As Noivern reared its head to let loose the blast, Charizard tucked in his wings, and plummeted back towards the ground, his tail scorched by the pulse of dragon energy. Roaring in pain, he spread his wings, and Jaime held on for dear life, as they drew closer to the Gijinka, her hand only coming away to find Metang's ball as they stabilized their descent. Last chance, gijinka... we can't pass again.

The Charizard's legs hung low, attempting to grab the gijinka, or allow him to grab on, but it was hard to be precise at such a low altitude, threading between these buildings. As they passed, Jaime was unsure whether or not the gijinka was 'on board', however, they did knock down a Hawlucha which was attacking him, as she called back the Metang who had bought so much time to try.
