Pollux Zabat

"I ether dance for the rain or steal for myself. Either way I'm getting out of here."

0 · 465 views · located in Merrima Village

a character in “Pokémon Gijinka: Dallea Region”, as played by kyuukonhime

Description

Name: Pollux Zabat

Title/Alias/Nickname*: N/A

Age: 23

Gender: Male

Sexual Orientation: Demisexual

Species: Dragonair

Ability: Shed skin
  • Shed Skin has a 30% chance of curing the Pokémon of a non-volatile status condition.

Moveset:

  • Hurricane: His tail orbs glow then he waves his tail at his opponent sending the summoned wind at them. Combined with rain dance, this attack becomes much stronger. However, he uses this as a push away and an escape for himself.
  • Water pulse: Pollux's throat orb glows a bright blue, creating a concentrated ball of water which then explodes into a massive torrent or water. If he actually in water while preforming this move, the water orb is created from the liquid around him and forced outward and upward at the opponent. This is his last resort move as it does the most damage and only uses it when he knows he can't run with his other moves.
  • Rain dance: Pollux begins to dance while his tail and throat orbs glow, summoning rain clouds and making it rain.
  • Light screen: His tail orbs glow and he is surrounded by a blue orb that protects him him special attacks.

Personality: Pollux is a rather odd sort. A male dragonair gijinka that dances for most of his supplies, but is also a paranoid sort when it comes to humans. He tended to meet both gijinka and human the same, with slight mistrust and stand offishness. He mostly prefers to be alone and travel the riverways or storm clouds on his own but does sometimes hitch rides with other gijinka as his runins with humans has been...less than stellar.

Once warmed up to someone, he is rather eccentric. Happy to share his love of human knicknacks and stories of his travels; he sees his friends as family or at the very least what little family he has left.

Strengths:
  • Observant: Pollux has and always been on the move due to him being a rather rare gijinka and tends to watch his surroundings for the event that humans come looking for him.

  • slippery: Wether it be from his shed skin ability or his speed in the water and high gusts, Pollux has a knack for just being out of the grasp of hunters or into places where he shouldn't be.

  • Crafty: Because of his nomadic nature, Pollux makes his own supplies that can be made. From tents to clothing: if he can make it with his own two hand and tail than he's probably got it.

Weaknesses:
  • Physically weak: Because most of his attack are of the special variety, he is very weak compared to other gijinka.

  • Paranoid: Being a rare gijinka, he has little trust in anyone, especially humans and often slips away from them or keeps people at arms length until they prove themselves worthy of his trust.

  • pacifist: Pollux does not like the thought of hurting anyone, even when he is in danger of being captured. While he will defend himself, he tries to do it in a way where there is minimal damage to his opponent. If they are harmed, it wears on his mind for a long time.

Appearance:

Image

Pollux has no legs from the waist down, only a smooth dragonair tail.

Height: (standing comfortably) 5'7"
Length: 16'3" from head to tail tip
weight: 75 pounds
Gang/Group/Organization*: N/A

Other*: He keeps an everstone necklace as he does not wish to evolve into a dragonite and as a keeps sake from his sister.

So begins...

Pollux Zabat

Cobrapeak city. This place was starting to become a bit of a hub for Pollux wether he liked it or not. He had been in or near this city more than five times in the past month, and counted himself luck that he hadn't been seen by anyone. Then again he had always come on storm clouds and landed himself in the river before anyone could notice him. This time, however, he found himself at Lapras Beach on quite a lovely day.

For everyone else.

Pollux only had the top part of his head out of the water, watching the humans come and go all while contemplating slithering to shore Any of these humans could make a since he assumed his full pokemon kin were just as rare as he was. And as much as he would love to beach himself in the sand and soak in the warm rays of the sun, maybe find himself something to eat at a food cart or read a magazine in one of the trinket shops. That just wasn't going to happen. The risk was too great. Now after the near capture he had some towns over. Only by the grace of arceus himself did he get out of that cluster alive and free. "Why can't this be easy?" he grumbled to himself as he dipped back under the water and swam closer to shore.

His tail orb bobbed out of the water ever so slightly as he cut through the water like a scyther blade through bread. Being careful to avoid swimming under humans in kayaks and pokemon with trainers out playing in the water. It wasn't until he felt something splash in the water some ways away from him. Something red and crying out and making the water very hot. Curiosity and slight gut fear brought the dragonair gijinka to the surface as the sight of a magby trying to swim to shore with no luck. Even with the fear and paranoia of humans seeing him, he could no let such a small magby drown.

It didn't take that long for him to scoop it up into his arms, fly out of the water and back to shore. The little magby, unsure of what was going on before being gently placed on the sand and cooed over by who he assumed was the trainer of the little one. As well as a swarm of curious human and other trainers alike. "Well shit.... This was gonna be a long day.

  1. I forgot that Pollux was in this location as I was writing my post, and edited it to acknowledge the character (if only as an unsure glimpse). Apologies to kyuukonhime

The sea breeze felt refreshing on Jaime's face, one true taste of home since she arrived in Dallea. White sands stretched around the cove, carving away into the underbrush of the forest. The air was crisp, and carried the sounds of Wingull, flocking in the skies overhead. Starmie and Blissey were playing in the shallows, whilst Charizard and Tyranitar wrestled on the sand. Metang was investigating the rockpools on the shoreline, and Skarmory took some time to roost in the shade.

As for Jaime, she was resting up as well - it was a long journey from Kanto to Dallea. The boat ride had not been the most pleasant either, but it didn't matter now. She laid upon a black and red jacket on the warm sands, tanned skin on show beneath a white satin blouse, and blue denim mini-shorts. A pair of black converse, and a large backpack, laid upright to her left, and her long, brown hair was tied back, tucked into a baseball cap behind her head to keep the sand at bay. As long as there was sand beneath her feet, and the great blue beyond on her horizons, she could never feel far from home.

After a few minutes of watching Charizard's futile attempts to put Tyranitar on the ground, she decided that it was time to start moving - this pokedex isn't going to fill up by itself. Giving a sharp whistle, she called all the pokemon back to her. Tyranitar seemed awfully pleased with himself, the expression on Charizard's face too hard to ignore. Still there were many more talents that Charizard possessed, beyond brute strength.

Jaime smiled at Charizard, "I think it's about time we took to the air, don't you?"

Charizard's expression quickly turned from one of frustration to one of contentedness, stretching his wings a few times, as Jaime returned the other pokemon to their balls. She quickly put her shoes on, gathered her pack and hat, before climbing up on to the Charizard's back, her arms gently wrapped around his neck just above the base of his wings. "Come on then, big guy - let's go to the city!"

With a warm growl, Charizard pushed off from the sand, wings flapping. He swooped back down along the shoreline, before turning to climb over the trees leading inland, with a deafening roar that could be heard a few miles away. For a moment, Jaime was sure she saw something humanoid lurking in the water but dismissed it, as people started to flock down to the water's edge. She looked down at trees below, scanning for clearings and points of interest, but saw none. Far in the distance, white topped mountains peeked over the horizon to the North. Safe to say, Jaime had no intention of going there any time soon, but they would point the way to Cobrapeak City.

To keep herself low profile, Avis had been careful to hide the markings that sat on her arms, keeping her hands over them the best she could, as well as keeping her head down, to hide the ones on her face. She was traveling a ways away from where she was usually at, and it made her nervous, to say the least. She made sure to avoid the gazes of those who were enjoying the summer day, and made sure her pace was fast, even though she had been wanting to relax here. It simply felt impossible to feel comfortable and safe.

She let out a long sigh and rubbed her arms nervously as she continued on her way. At least she wasn't at Cobrapeak; she could at least hope that there were a couple people here like the ones over at Merrima Village, though she doubted there were many. Most looked like trainers, here enjoying the day with their Pokémon. From what she'd heard from other Gijinka she'd come by, they seemed to be some of the worst with the new species. Of course, that didn't label all of them to be bad, but she couldn't take any chances.

After a moment, she started to notice the people who had seemingly been attracted over to a certain area, for who knew why. A small crowd had begun to form over by the water's edge, and people were talking loudly among each other. Confusion and curiosity seemed to take away Avis' original caution and nervousness, and she found herself moving along with those who were joining the crowd, until she was part of it. She pushed her way in as several at the front moved to the side so those in the back could get a view of what was going on. Her eyes widened and she let out a gasp as she realized why there were so many people around.

"A Dragonair Gijinka...?" She whispered under her breath. She was more than surprised...shocked, in fact, that a Gijinka, one with such defining features that she deemed as impossible to hide, had shown itself at the beach on such a crowded day.

She could hear whispers and shouts from people who had crowded around him, some seeming excited, others discussing what to do, more talking between themselves nervously. She simply stared at him, keeping herself quiet, forgetting to keep her head low and hiding the markings on her arms, though it seemed those that had gathered cared more about what was sitting right in from of them than anyone in the crowd.

Pollux Zabat

Being surrounded crowd of human trainers and pokemon alike wasn't the most ideal situation for the dragonair gijinka. That and having a magby hanging onto his tail was making it even more difficult to flee. As much as he wished to have a relaxing day for once in his life, today didn't seem like the day that was going to happen.

He could hear in the crowd some of the suggestions the were proposing. Some wanted a shot at catching him, others proposing to let him go and see where he goes and others seeing if they could find anyone to move him. All of them suggestions that he wanted no part of. "Look little one, go find your mum and let me go please." he hissed, but not enough to scare the baby pokemon, but enough to make him look around and let go of his tail orbs.

Pollux's eyes scanned the crowd while his tail coiled under him, his eyes landing on a woman with white hair, although that was the only thing he could make out in the chaos. "I must say, I'm terribly sorry for the disturbance, but I must get going." he said simply before launching himself like a spoink in the air. The blessings of being incredibly light for his size was the height that he could achieve this way. He could take flight from here, but with the amount of people here it wasn't smart since anyone here could well be a bounty hunter. Instead, he dove right back into the water causing the crowd to try and run into the water after him, but he was already too far out and too deep to follow. Under the water, Pollux swam a bit further out and peeked out of the water again, eyes on Avis before making his way toward the mouth of the river. At the very least to take a route he had never taken before.

Avis stared as he seemed to panic and try to get away from the all of the people surrounding him, leaving a quick word with the crowd before he suddenly sprang up into the air, the sudden movement the group gathered around him quite a startle before he landed back into the water several feet away, disappearing into the dark blue ocean. After a moment, the crowd finally began to disperse, some running into the water to catch up with him, others staring, and several more running away from the scene to go tell their friends. Avis simply moved up to the water's edge, the waves barely moving over her feet, as she watched the Dragonair Gijinka begin to swim away, diving deeper into the water before seeming to disappear completely from the eyes of those who had tried to chase after him. She stared for a while longer until she saw his head come up again, and then disappear once more, this time for good.

She took in a small breath after she realized she'd been holding it for so long, and then took several steps back, looking around at the people, mostly at the ones who were heading back to shore in disappointment at their failure of "catching the Gijinka, even though it was right there."

Biting her tongue, she turned herself away and quickly resumed her speeded walk through the beach. "I've got to get out of here..." She mumbled to herself, keeping her head down again. The trainers may as well see her as another chance to catch a Gijinka if they realized that she actually was one, and she knew, by common sense, staying here wasn't the safest choice.

Though she was speeding up her pace to get out of the lace, she occasionally glanced back out at the ocean to see if Pollux, by chance, was still somewhere she could see him, even though she was sure he wasn't.

Pollux Zabat

Rivers have always been more welcoming than any beach or any city. So calm like he could live on it for a while like Pollux had back in Kanto. There was no one that he could see on the banks since he swam into it. No gijinka, no humans, it was even scarce of pokemon from what he could see. It was peaceful. At least it was right now. As he swam further up the river and deeper into the forest, he found that his stomach was protesting at the lack of food. He sighed, finally dragging himself up onto the river bank, letting his scales glisten in the sunlight the shone through.

"Humans would be crazy to be this deep." he muttered as he dropped his backpack against a tree and started digging through. He had a few knitted items, a blanket and a hip wrap to be exact and a few bags of food from various human towns. Some sweets, some dried meat products and a couple cups of instant noodles. Well that wasn't then only thing he had. He was packed like he was going camping, thanks to some past gijinka that helped him out at the time. But that was a long time ago. So very long ago.

Soon a small base camp was set up, a hammock with a top set up between two trees, a very small stove and a couple books thrown about. It was homey and with the quiet of the forest he assumed he could stay for a few days before he needed to stock up again. Even with the relative safety of it, he still felt himself looking up from his comics every now and again, scanning the tree line and river for anyone. One could never be too careful these days.

What she had hoped would be a nice, relaxed walk on the beach, had turned into a speedy jog, as well as a run in with another Gijinka...a Dragonair Gijinka to be exact. It was something she definitely hadn't expected, and it was definitely a surprise. She'd been released to see him get away, though she couldn't help but feel nervous for him, especially because most of the time, after a Gijinka sighting so clear as day as that one, the HoD would be notified, and she knew them to be very persistent and relentless when it came to hunting after their kind. Not to mention he was rather handsome...

"Oh, dear. Now I'm getting off track." She said, shaking her head quickly. "I'm sure he got away fine. Quit thinking about it."

After she'd finished her jog on the beach, she'd made her way back to Merrima Village, feeling exhausted and drained, though she'd been welcomed back by one of the villagers...a male she'd befriended a little while ago. After saying hello and having a quick conversation with him, before stopping by a small store the village had. She'd grabbed several small things to tide over her hunger for the time being, luckily having enough money to pay for it, and then off she went, the food in her small pack on her back, and off she went, hoping to get some time to relax out in Oneta Forest.

She made her way down further into the forest, having gotten far past the trail that had been carved out into the dirt, now just following the river's edge to navigate. She found it rather easy to follow, as long as she stayed away from any of the bends that broke off, occasionally having to walk through the shallow water to get further in, lucky it hadn't been deep or rough.

After a moment of walking through, she let out a long sigh, closing her eyes for a moment. It had definitely been a long day, that was for sure. She was ready to finally sit down and eat.

Opening her eyes again, she suddenly spotted something in the distance...it looked like a camp of some sort, and soon she could make out the figure of some kind of person. A human, all the way out here? There was no way. It had to be...

She let out a sudden gasp as she realized who it was, but before she could stop herself, she felt her feet catch the undergrowth of the forest, and she let out a small "eek!" before she came into contact with the water and rocks below her, making a loud splash, soaking the parts of her dress and knee-high socks that came into contact with the water, as well as some of her hair.

"So much for being quiet and careful..." She sniffed, sitting herself up and quickly getting out of the cold water until she was out of the river and on the shore again. There was no doubt that the Dragonair Gijinka had noticed her by now, and in such an embarrassing way.

The comic was getting good at this point. Pollux's tail wagged a bit in his coiled state. What could be better? A calm brook devoid of any human or hunters. Enough supplies for him to survive at least for the next few days before he would have to go gather some again, and a couple of comic he had found in some trash cans in another town. Granted that last bit wasn't ideal but he wasn't about to slither himself into a mall and buy something like he was. No that was just asking for trainers to chuck pokeballs at him.

It was so peaceful that he could almost sleep there....that it until he watch the woman mist her step and eat the river and rocks below. 'and I thought legs would be an asset' he thought to himself as lurched back on instinct. It wasn't until a few seconds had passed when he realized that this was the white haired woman from the crowd. He still slithered back by a tree; half hiding behind it and half leaning on it but all ready to book it and leave his things if need be. "What do you want?" he questioned nervously, still unsure of this woman. "Leave me alone, I'm not worth the pokeballs you'd throw at me.." An automatic response he was rather frail in terms of his physicallity. For a dragon type he was rather bad at physical attacks. Then the smallest of his typing would laugh at how soft his blows were. However his special attacks...well he wasn't too keen of those either.

Now that he thought about it; if she was here, that meant other humans where at least somewhere close. Other humans ment more of a chance that he would be found and that meant even more trouble. "I'll just make it rain!" He was shivering now, his orbs glowing slightly. If she was going to be a bother, than he was ready to cut his losses and run.

Avis stared at him for a moment, and then quickly jumping up and waving her hands out in front of her, ignoring the pain her newly acquired bruises and scrapes were giving her, as well as the discomfort of her sopping wet clothes. She felt awful for surprising him and seemingly making him so nervous, and she shook her head.

"I didn't mean to cause any trouble!" She quickly said, hoping to get what she said through. "And...I definitely won't be throwing any Pokéballs in your direction." She paused for a moment as she thought about what he'd said. "Do I look like a Pokémon trainer to you?" She simply stared at him for a moment, her arms lowering. "I most definitely am not! I'm a Gijinka, like you." She tilted her head slightly. "These markings on my arms and face are natural, I was born with them." She paused. "I'm like you, just with...less defining features..." Her voice trailed off.

"You can make it rain if you'd like, but I don't think it's going to do much for either of us..." She said, her voice trailing off at the end.

So she was a Gijinka too....intresting. Pollux tilted his head to the side, his ear wings flapping a bit as he moved away from the tree. Still, he had been in contact with gijinka that was under the control (or at least what he called control) of trainers, so he couldn't be sure. She seemed nice enough though. "The rain helps me hide..." he mutters, looking away from her to see if he could see anyone else coming. Too bad the trees were to thick to see anything beyond a few trees.

The dragonair looked back at her, pouting like a child who had just gotten a toy taken away from him. "You were at the beach. Why would you walk among humans?" a question that he soon found himself metaphorically kicking himself. She looked human enough to pass for one. A little makeup and boom! a normal human that may have some hair dye. He found himself a tad jealous of her, but that wasn't the main annoyance now.

Right now was the annoying of his stomach growling. Loudly. He hadn't eaten in more than a couple days now. Mostly because he had been in the open ocean, hanging onto the side of a fishing ship and dropping himself off near lapras beach. He moved slowly back to his hammock, coiling around himself like an Arbok all while watching as if she was still going to attack before dipping his head behind the fabric. He only popped back up with a gummy worm in his mouth, tilting his head again. "So....I'm guessing there are other gijinka in the forest?"

The notes of the concerto rung out like paradigms of life itself in the dark office of Burton Strange, such an unusual sound to hear in so empty a place. Behind an old wooden desk sat a figure cloaked in shadow, the dull light of a lamp illuminating a fraction of his true features as he stared at the folio in front of him - a collection of data pertaining to Gijinka sightings in the Dallea region. The other hunters were away from HQ, and so he figured it apt to stay here, awaiting information from reliable sources as to the location of valuable specimens.

The day was yet young for the hunters, finding it easier to hunt in daylight for the Gijinka, and Burton eagerly awaited any call at all, in order to forward instructions to the others. Adrien was out, supposedly having been called by one of the other hunters. He did not mind sitting on the sidelines sometimes - it gave him time to reflect on the condition of the world, and whether or not they remained true to their cause. Of course, Burton saw the money shine before his eyes - not the moral compass of the Hunters being slowly twisted to the point of becoming a malevolent evil. Maybe one day he would realise this, but it would not be this day.

His notes included the sightings of pokemon in the past few days, but today there was a recurring message from informants - a Dragonair gijinka had been spotted at Lapras Beach, however, it had vanished before any hunters had arrived at the scene. He figured that it would have fled upstream into the Oneta Forest, but it would be a waste of resources to send the hunters on what could be a wild goose chase... Eventually the gijinka would resurface, and would be caught, just like they always do...

A concerto was drawing to its close, as he sipped a small glass on his desk, filled with what could only be described as an amber draught. It was an old single malt whisky, brewed in the Johto forests, and cask-aged for a decade or more. Whilst it was not one of the most refined whiskys, it was easy enough for Burton to drink whilst studying notes.

Avis stared at him I for a moment, and then shrugged. "I just thought I'd try and go see more of Dallea outside of Oneta Forest and Merrima Village..." She said. "I blend in well enough, even though I still feel nervous and paranoid." She paused as she thought for a little longer. "And despite all the things humans have done to our kind, I don't hate them. I just hope one day we can walk with and live around the humans, without them thinking we're all monsters." She gave a quiet laugh, aimed at herself. "It's something I like to fantasize about a lot."

At the sound of his growling stomach, she moved her hand back to grab her small pack with food, perhaps to offer him something, only to find her hand come into contact with a wet bag. She pulled it in front of herself, frowning before opening it up to see most of her food ruined because of the water. When she finally looked back up at Pollux, he'd moved up to his hammock and gotten himself some food. She let out a quiet sigh and set her back on the ground.

"Other Gijinka?" She said, thinking for a moment, and then nodding. "Yeah, I've met one or two in here when I've come around...Gijinka probably everywhere in here, really, but this forest is so big and dense that it's lucky if you even manage come across another one." She sighed.

Pollux huffed, shifting in his hammock a bit. His eyes narrowed, refusing to come out anymore than eye level. "Easy for you to say. You can pass for human with a bit of make up." he scoffed, quite obviously annoyed. Even with his annoyance, he was still visibly shaking and looking behind her. He had never been in these woods, only the back streets of cobrapeak city and this had been a split second decision on his part. And it was starting the feel like a stupid one at that.

However, he was running out of food and a bed did sound night without having to break into a pokemon center. His eyes landed on her again. "You mentioned a village. Where is it? He asked carefully as if he was studying her reaction. "Is it a gijinka village? Does it have an inn? He was tired, he was hungry for more than just the junk he typically pilfered from the garbage, convinence stores and sometimes peoples pockets. If the village she had mentioned was a secluded village of nothing but their kind then he wouldn't have much to worry about.

The key word being 'much'

"Can you take me too it? I have money. Not much, but I have money." he finally admitted, now eyeing her as if he were protecting something. Then again he was for the most part. His own hide.

For a moment, an offended look crossed Avis's face, but quickly subsided to a resting expression. "That doesn't mean I'm in any less danger, mind you." She said, though left it at that, not wanting to annoy this new person anymore than he already was. She wasn't one for fighting, especially with a random stranger. Besides, he looked increasingly nervous, and she couldn't tell why he was looking behind her so much. She was alone. Did he think she was trying to distract him while others attacked?

She blinked as he suddenly asked about the village, and then shook her head. "No, it's a human village." She said. "But I live there with them. Haven't you heard of Merrima Village? She paused for a moment. "It's the village with all of the humans who are peaceful with the Gijinka...I mean, they defended another Gijinka just this morning, and chased away a hunter who had tried getting inside."

She offered a gentle smile as he asked for her to take him to the Village. "I'd gladly take you you there, if you trust me. You can even stay in the small house I have there for the night, and I could help you restock all of your supplies if you want." She said.

Pollux mused, twiddling his fingers around the candy. Memories of humans from his past flashed for a quick second. A human village that said they were allies, but quickly turned their back on him in his time of need. Or at least, that's how he remembers it. His eyes and tail orb pulsed with light. Maybe this would be different, it was better than sleeping in a hammock and hiding in a forest with who knows what here. Even gijinka could be bandits in desperate times.

"Alright. he sighed, slithering out of the hammock before taking it down from between the trees it was hung from. "But only for the night. I'd rather not needlessly idle. No offence." His books and other supplies were packed as soon as the hammock was stuffed inside. The only thing out of the bag was a purple gradient shawl wrapped around his shoulders and a long skirt of the same color. The only clothing he really had since the last pair was burned in a fight some ways away. He bowed to her, coiling himself under him as he did. "I apologize for my rudeness. A practiced tone, as if who had done this many times before. "I am called Pollux.

Avis waited almost impatiently for his answer, swaying back and forth a bit and looking around on the ground, rubbing her arm. He seemed to be considering her offer, which was good, but he hadn't made an actual decision yet. She felt like he was going to deny it, the way had been talking before...not that it would be that big of a deal, it was all his choice, but she couldn't help but feel a little tense in the situation.

When he finally gave his answer, agreeing to let her take him to Merrima, her expression seemed to light up somewhat, and she quickly gave a warm smile, nodding quickly.

"One night sounds fine to me." She said, rather excited. "I'll help you restock on all your supplies and stuff, or with anything else you need.

A small smile appeared on her lips as he apologized, and she shook her head. "No need to apologize. It's not a big deal." She said before turning around and began walking in the direction of the village. "Oh, and my name's Avis. It's wonderful to meet you." She said. "Merrima Village is just this way, follow me." She said, before beginning to walk again.

Pollux nodded, still a nervous as ever but following none the less. The fact that he was actually allowing himself to be taken to a human village was madness enough. However, he justified it in his mind as just a quick stop. He wouldn't stay for too long anyway and it would be enough time for him to leave in the event that one of the humans called a hunter. He was a rarity after all. A dragonair by itself was something not many people would pass up on.

He figgited with his shawl, watching their surroundings as he followed. "So...what is it like? The village I mean." He asked, tilting his head to the side as he slithered up to speed with her. At the very least, he could get a better look at her to see what she was really. By the markings, he could see that she was at least of the toge line, but the ones he was used to were alot more...feathery than human looking. A bit of envy boiled up again, with a bit of make up and hair dye, she could pass for a human unlike himself. Or that's what he assumed since she was living in a human village instead of a gijinka one.

His wing-ears flapped a bit as he shifted his pack on his back, hoping that they would be in the village soon. The forest was starting to make him feel uneasy.

She made her way through the forest quietly, unsure how to strike up a conversation with Pollux. Her eyes wandered along the lines of trees and bushes, and over the water of the slow river, trying to distract herself from the awkwardness. They were already nearly to the village, which was much of a relief...she was still starving, after losing her lunch to the water of the river, and her clothes still hadn't exactly dried...

"Oh, the village?" Avis said, and then smiled. "Well, it's mostly humans, and lots of farmland...agricultural stuff. There's a couple other Gijinka that come by, one other that lives there, like me, but is always out and away somewhere else. He probably comes to the forest a lot, actually, now that I think about it." She thought for a moment, trying to think of something that could make the place more appealing to Pollux. "The people there are really nice; they're the ones who helped me when I was running away from a hunter. I've stayed here since...I don't really belong anywhere else." She shrugged.

She gave a small laugh after a small silence. "I have a house at the edge of the village, next to the forest, so it shouldn't be too far out of your comfort zone, I hope. It's pretty small, but I liked it the best out of all the ones they offered me." She said, looking over at her acquaintance and offering a warm smile.

Pollux hummed his reply, feeling some solace in the fact that her house wasn't too far from the forest. But something didn't eel right. Humans giving a gijinka a house? That didn't sound right? Even if it was a faming town, it was still odd. For him, humans are more intrested in a gijinka as either something to fight for them or to sit around and look pretty. Just giving her a residence of her own was...strange.

"So they don't like the hunters. This region is odd to say the least. he murrmered, shifting the bag again. His thoat orb pulsed a bit as he looked ahead, trying not to look nervous. He didn't want to say anything, but Pollux was even afraid of the togepi gijinka. There was no telling where he was being taken or even if she was telling the truth. All sorts of escape plans ran through his mind as they walked along the path. Wondering if it was open air, if he could get away with pulling a rain dance-hurricane combo to slip away while the storm raged. The least violent options came to mind first and foremost, making his tail orbs glow slightly. Only time would tell the outcome.

Avis nodded and continued walking, and soon they'd found the path back to Merrima Village again. She turned and to the right direction, and then pointed down the path, "it's just down this way. We're almost there."

She continued walking with Pollux, occasionally looking over to check on him and make sure he was keeping up with her, and then let out a quiet sigh, closing her eyes for a moment. His comment caught her attention, and then she shrugged. "Not all the humans agree with what the hunters and the DISR are doing. I mean, a majority of them do, but there's still some who see it as evil and cruel." She shrugged. "That's what Merrima Village is like. Everyone's really nice too. You shouldn't have to worry much, okay?" She laughed for a moment as he called it odd. "I guess you could say that. It is pretty interesting."

Pollux Zabat

"Yeah...I-I guess." It almost came out as a whimper. The nervousness was very evident in the dragonair; the constant shifting of his bag, darting eyes and slightly glowing throat orb. Being taken to a human village by his own will was a huge risk and effort on his part to trust. Nearly every human he had met so far wanted him in their team and nearly every gijinka only wanted to fight him because he was a dragon type. It was push and pull of wanting to trust and wanting to keep himself out of harm's way. It was a lonely existance for sure, but it kept him free and somewhat safe. If anything he wished to live with a pod of dragonair out in the ocean or somewhere on a remote island. At the very least there he would be at peace if not a bit bored.

He tried to look ahead of the path to at least see where they were headed, but this region wasn't his home so it would've been pointless to even try. From what he knew about the Togi line, he could at least be sure that this woman wasn't leading him into a trap...but then again the humans could turn hostile and turn him in on their own. So many senarios ran through his head of the worst that could happen. Speed was on his side though, a bit of rain and then he could slip away if push came to shove.

Avis looked over at Pollux for a moment, a slight frown coming to her face. She wasn't sure how to get him to trust her or know that he was safe; it felt impossible. Everything she said seemed to do next to nothing. She let out a quiet sigh and continued on the path, shifting the straps on her pack and kicking a small stone away, her feet beginning to drag. Was she sure this whole thing was going to turn out alright?

After a moment of silence, she turned to look back at Pollux again. "You'll be fine, I'm sure of it." She said, turning back again. "They're really nice people, welcoming too." She tried to think of anything else she could say. "If you aren't comfortable going into the more busy part of the village, you don't have to. You can stay at my place. I won't mind."

"Ah!" She cut her words short before she smiled with excitement, pointing out to the exit of the forest. She quickly cast aside the thoughts of his nervousness away, hoping that maybe if she acted excited about the village he'd have a much more positive view of the place...or at least something along those lines. "Here we are! The walk wasn't so bad, yeah? Let's head to my place first and get you settled in, that okay?"

Pollux Zabat

As if he were a growlithe pup, Pollux tilted his head to the side once they were out of the forest. He was still somewhat nervous about this whole thing, but her excitement made things a bit more comfortable. This was her home after all, why not be excited to come home after such a cluster of a day?

The dragonair followed behind a tad closer, watching some of the humans that he could see for any reaction that he could deem as hostile. Except that...he couldn't really see any. It reminded him of a farming village, making him quite curious to see if there were any miltanks and kangaskan around. It was peaceful feeling, setting him at least somewhat at ease if not a bit awkward.

"So...the humans here just gave you a house? No strings attached?" He asked, gripping his pack under his shawl. He couldn't wrap his head around the fact that humans would just give a gijinka a house. Then again the togie line wasn't known for violence usually. His wing-ears flapped slightly, lifting him somewhat so that he was just floating behind her. With so many humans around, he really couldn't help himself.

Avis waved to several of the humans who passed by, to which they waved back. They seemed a little surprised by Pollux, but we're still cheerful nonetheless; some even waved to him as well. She hoped that at least helped a little bit with how Pollux had been feeling before, though when she looked back at him, he still seemed just as nervous, hovering over the ground a bit. She watched him for a moment, and then turned back, taking a left on the path to her home.

"Mhm." Avis said, rather simply. "They didn't offer me a place at first, but after they noticed me staying around the village more often, they offered it to me. I can't say it was in the best condition when I first got it; the one who had owned it a while before had left the village a while ago, so it was a bit dusty and needed some tidying up, but it's great enough to live in." She said, smiling as she thought about it. She loved her home, that was for sure. Even though its size was rather small, it was perfect for her. She'd even gotten ahold of several decorations, and bought some other things at the market to make it look a little bit prettier...

"Ah, there it is." She said, pointing over at a house that sat a little ways away. It was quite a ways away from any of the other houses in the village. The house was a small, two story stone one with a dark blue-colored roof that likely had around four-five rooms in all, and perhaps an attic at the very top. Some I vy grew over some of the walls and around the windows of the building, which were dark for now. A low wooden fence wrapped around it, a small gate at the front, likely only for decoration. In the front of the house laid a flower bed that wrapped itself over the edge of the dirt path that led up to the front door, with small patches of flowers that looked like they'd been planted recently.

"How does it look so far?" Avis said, turning to look over at Pollux, hoping that it looked at least okay.

Pollux Zabat

The humans made Pollux nervous, but he did give them back a small wave to them back. He was making an attempt. Small steps were better than nothing. It was nice in a strange way. Almost like a vauge memory that he wanted to remember but kept reminding himself that it wasn't going to be a reality. Only a dream that seemed to be right in front of him.

The dragonair listened, part of him wanting to rite it off as something to make him feel better until they actually arrived at the house in question. Pollux's eyes widened at the sight of it. It was homey but more space than he was used to. At least from the outside and what he was able to see. Without thinking, he started to float and hover around the house. Peeking through every window before coming back down, apparently satisfied that no one else were there. "It looks like..a home." An awkward grin crossed his lips, unsure of what to make of this whole situation. He was only there for a night and then move on after all.

"Um...well I guess after you. I would be rude to just fly into someone's window." Another awkward comment. He mentally kicked himself at this. It was bad enough that was being invited into a town that could easily turn on him, now realizing that his attempts at small talk were just terrible made things all the more awkward.
