Pollux Zabat

"I ether dance for the rain or steal for myself. Either way I'm getting out of here."

0 · 644 views · located in Merrima Village

a character in “Pokémon Gijinka: Dallea Region”, as played by kyuukonhime

Description

Name: Pollux Zabat

Title/Alias/Nickname*: N/A

Age: 23

Gender: Male

Sexual Orientation: Demisexual

Species: Dragonair

Ability: Shed skin
  • Shed Skin has a 30% chance of curing the Pokémon of a non-volatile status condition.

Moveset:

  • Hurricane: His tail orbs glow then he waves his tail at his opponent sending the summoned wind at them. Combined with rain dance, this attack becomes much stronger. However, he uses this as a push away and an escape for himself.
  • Water pulse: Pollux's throat orb glows a bright blue, creating a concentrated ball of water which then explodes into a massive torrent or water. If he actually in water while preforming this move, the water orb is created from the liquid around him and forced outward and upward at the opponent. This is his last resort move as it does the most damage and only uses it when he knows he can't run with his other moves.
  • Rain dance: Pollux begins to dance while his tail and throat orbs glow, summoning rain clouds and making it rain.
  • Light screen: His tail orbs glow and he is surrounded by a blue orb that protects him him special attacks.

Personality: Pollux is a rather odd sort. A male dragonair gijinka that dances for most of his supplies, but is also a paranoid sort when it comes to humans. He tended to meet both gijinka and human the same, with slight mistrust and stand offishness. He mostly prefers to be alone and travel the riverways or storm clouds on his own but does sometimes hitch rides with other gijinka as his runins with humans has been...less than stellar.

Once warmed up to someone, he is rather eccentric. Happy to share his love of human knicknacks and stories of his travels; he sees his friends as family or at the very least what little family he has left.

Strengths:
  • Observant: Pollux has and always been on the move due to him being a rather rare gijinka and tends to watch his surroundings for the event that humans come looking for him.

  • slippery: Wether it be from his shed skin ability or his speed in the water and high gusts, Pollux has a knack for just being out of the grasp of hunters or into places where he shouldn't be.

  • Crafty: Because of his nomadic nature, Pollux makes his own supplies that can be made. From tents to clothing: if he can make it with his own two hand and tail than he's probably got it.

Weaknesses:
  • Physically weak: Because most of his attack are of the special variety, he is very weak compared to other gijinka.

  • Paranoid: Being a rare gijinka, he has little trust in anyone, especially humans and often slips away from them or keeps people at arms length until they prove themselves worthy of his trust.

  • pacifist: Pollux does not like the thought of hurting anyone, even when he is in danger of being captured. While he will defend himself, he tries to do it in a way where there is minimal damage to his opponent. If they are harmed, it wears on his mind for a long time.

Appearance:

Image

Pollux has no legs from the waist down, only a smooth dragonair tail.

Height: (standing comfortably) 5'7"
Length: 16'3" from head to tail tip
weight: 75 pounds
Gang/Group/Organization*: N/A

Other*: He keeps an everstone necklace as he does not wish to evolve into a dragonite and as a keeps sake from his sister.

Avis let out a small laugh at his first comment, and then nodded. "Well, that's because it is a home." She said, walking forward to the gate and opening it up so she could slip through. She carefully shut it behind herself and watched him for a moment as he looked around at the house from the outside. She felt a little bit self conscious about him looking it over, but forced the feeling away after a moment. She couldn't feel nervous about him being here; she was the one that had invited him here. It would be rude to act that way.

After he looked around and returned back to the ground, she nodded and then started walking towards the door. "You'll probably get a much better view of the place if you're inside." She said, smiling back at him as she left the door open for him to slip in. The entrance led right into a small kitchen-living room area, consisting of a sink and small bar, along with a fridge and an oven and stove and several cabinets around to the left, and then a small fireplace and rug, with a small couch and chair sitting around the rug to the right. Several things hung on the wall, some pictures, others just random decorations. A small vase with flowers sat on a table in the center of the kitchen, with a single chair on each side of it.

Avis moved to the side and turned on a light, though it only lit the room dimly. She gave a quiet sigh, slipping off her shoes and setting them by the door before stretching her arms a bit.

"Forgive the lighting." She said. "It's never been that good, but I've gotten used to it, so I haven't bothered asking about fixing it or anything." She shrugged, turning to the other side, taking off the pack and hanging it on a small hanger on the wall. "Anyways, you can just go ahead and come in, look around if you'd like. There's a small bathroom over at the end of the kitchen, you'll see the door to it. The glass door in between the living room and kitchen just leads to the back; it's not really that big, but it serves as a nice place to relax if I don't feel like going out to the forest. The stairs over by the living room lead to the upstairs...my room is up there, and then there's an extra room too...it's kind of become storage, so don't mind it." She said, before walking in a little ways. "Well, go ahead and make yourself at home." She smiled, turning back to look at him again. "Let me know if you need any help."

Pollux Zabat

Pollux let out the held breath once he slithered himself inside. To be in a house that wasn't one he got himself dragged into felt nice. Even if the lights weren't working to the level they should be, it was something. An adiquate shelter at the very very least. Like a curious zigzagoon pup, he found himself wandering around the house and into nearly every room before settling himself in the other room. He REally didn't mind the storage that was around, it was better than spending the night in an abdandoned building where it was cold and left him sleeping with one eye open. Here, he didn't think he would have to, but it never hurt to listen out for during the night.

As the dragonair made his way down the stairs, his stomach growled in protest. Living off of instant noodles and anything he could dig out of a dumpster or the store of an inattentive clerk wasn't the best thing. But it was what he was able to do. "Um...I don't mean to be a bother, but do you have anything to eat?" He asked, avoiding eye contact as much as possible. It was embarrassing, having to ask as stranger for food. But it was better than asking a strange human for something.

Avis moved over to sit down at one of the chairs in the kitchen as Pollux moved away, letting out a quiet sigh as she relaxed and laid her head on the palm of her hand, leaning forward. Outside it was getting late, and Avis was more than ready to go to sleep, but with a guest in her home, she would wait until he was ready. She waited for a moment before she heard him coming back down, and she sat back up, turning her head over to him. He seemed to like the place so far, from what she could see; that was a relief.

"Food?" She said as he asked, and then nodded. "Yeah, I've got some. There isn't much, but I'm sure I could find something you'd like..." She hopped off the chair and moved over to all of the cabinets and cupboards. Shuffling through them, she began to try and see if there was anything simple she could make or give him.

"Let's see...I've got some fruit over in a bowl," she pointed to a glass bowl full of different fruits, apples, bananas, oranges, pears and peaches... "I could make you a sandwich, or there's cheese and crackers, um..." She continued looking around, trying to see if she could spot anything else he might like.

Pollux nervously scratched the back of his head, watching his host dig through the cabinets to get him something to eat as if he were a small dratini was a tad bit embarrassing. Everything about this was embarrassing, but he had to survive some how. It was only a matter of time before hunters got word that he was still in the area and not half way to Sootopolis city by way of storm clouds. Though at this point he would've loved to be back there instead of this place. Cobrapeak seem to be nothing but trouble for him.

"F-fruit is fine, Thank you." He stammered, quickly plucking an apple from the fruit bowl. He made a slight rumbbling noise, like a meowth being pet by it's owner. Being able to eat something that wasn't plucked out of the garbage or stolen from someone's table was a gift from arceus indeed.

It was indeed getting late, even through by now he would be either laying in his hammock in some high up place and watching the ground below for anyone looking to catch him, this place felt safe enough. Then again it was an enclosed space, who knew who would try and break in and try at hurt them. "I think I'm gonna turn in for the night. Um..thank you for letting me stay here." We a slight bow, he slithered quickly upstairs. It was gonna be a long night if he was gonna try and sleep this one off.

Avis looked over at Pollux for a moment and then gave a small nod. "Alright, that's fine." She aid. "Go ahead and enjoy it. I got that apple from a farmer's market a day or two ago, so it should be pretty good...it's fresh and all, you know?" She shut the cabinet she had been going through, and turned to face him, leaning back against the table.

He'd finished the apple quite quickly, and soon enough he had excused himself to go to sleep. She gave a surprised look and then smiled. "Alright, do sleep well. I'll see you tomorrow morning then." She said, giving a small wave of her hand as he began to move upstairs. "Good night!"

She was, soon enough, left in silence again, and she let out a quiet sigh, looking around her house. She hoped he wasn't too nervous here; this place had always felt safe to her, but he seemed anxious no matter what. After thinking about it for a moment, she moved over to her front door and clicked the turned the lock shut, and did the same with the back door. Hopefully that could give him some sense of peace.

She made her own way up the stairs and took a left as she did, moving to her own room. It was rather big, the size of both the kitchen and the living room below, and filled with all of her own things. She moved over to the window by her bed as she got inside and opened them a bit to let some of the air in. Finally, she moved over to her dresser and changed into something much more comfortable to sleep in, letting out a sigh of relief as she was finally in something clean and dry, and could sleep.

"Well, goodnight I guess." She said, though mostly to herself as she laid down into her bed, and closed her eyes to sleep.

Pollux settled in for the night in the storage room, not really minding the stuff that was around. He only moved enough stuff to give himself space to coil around himself and sleep. His pack was set against the wall, and himself coiled around himself like a arbok in the corner furthest away from the door where he could see the door. As much as he tried to keep it to himself, the dragonair was a nervous wreck.

As the night went on, he struggled to find some sort of peace. A house like this brought back memories of another time. A simpler time when he was still with a brood of other dragon gijinka as a child. The white stone of sootopolis city and how he and his childhood friends would play there. As happy as these memories were, he thrashed a bit. He wanted to so badly to go back to that time instead of being on the run.

Further into the night, he stilled, looking like a blue noodle stretched out around the room. A long night indeed. Hopefully the morning will bring better things.

Avis had slept well enough through the night, exhausted from the events of the day, and the things that had transpired after those. Meeting Pollux seemed to have done her quite a bit of stress, wondering if he would like her house, how he would see the village, if he even liked her yet as a friend...seemed she simply stressed out too much over things...but he seemed to be comfortable enough in her home...or at least, the most comfortable she had seen him since they'd met, which wasn't exactly that much, but hey, it was improvement!

It was the sun through her open windows that had woken her up from her well appreciated sleep that morning, and Avis let out a quiet groan, turning herself onto her side and trying to ignore the sounds of the bird Pokémon chirping outside, though it didn't seem to work. Soon enough, she'd found herself sitting up and getting out of bed, still half asleep, and she moved over to the small mirror in her room. Her hair seemed to have stayed good enough through the night, all it was need was perhaps a quick brush out (which she did, knowing she should at least look decent when someone else was in her home, and then grabbed some clothes to where for the day.

She quietly made her way down the creaking stairs, heading to her kitchen. She at least hoped Pollux had actually stayed through the night, not gone off when she was still asleep because he was uneasy...but she didn't dare check, in fear of perhaps startling or angering him.

But, if he was still here, he would at least get a good breakfast. Milk from the miltank cattles, fresh fruit from the orchids, eggs she'd received from a close friend...it seemed like a nice breakfast to her.

Pollux Zabat

Mornings, to be quite honest, were not the dragonair's strong suit. Morning after being a nervous wreck made his grumbling about the morning light shining in his face even worse. Pollux looked more like a cold snake as he tried to rise from his corner. A corner that now took up most of the wall and some of the other corner as well. Being so long was sometimes a curse when it came to sleeping. It was the only time he preferred sleeping outside. At least he wouldn't Be taking up so much space.

Still, the dragonair dragged himself out of the room while trying to make his hair more presentable and making sure that his necklace was still there. It was only when the smell of cooking eggs smacked him like an angry wigglytuff that he really made his way downstairs. He nearly glided down the stairs, so grateful for an actual breakfast with his stomach growling in gratitude as well.

"Oh thank you!" he exclaimed before realized how loud and how much he must of looked like a happy puppy. Embarrassed, he cleared his throat and bowed politely to her. "I mean, Thank you. I hope it didn't trouble you too much to make this" Pollux coiled himself into a sitting position, a small smile crossing his lips. The first in what was sure to be a long time.

Avis was surprised by his sudden excitement as he saw the food, but then let out a giggle, and an excited smile broke out over her lips. She began to put things on the plates to hand to him, before she spoke, "Pollux, there's no need to be so formal. It wasn't trouble at all, it's not like I had to do much. I'm glad you're excited for it, though." She paused for a moment before pushing Pollux's plate towards him and grabbing a fork to give to him as well. "Now, I hope it tastes good. This stuff is, of course, from the farmers around here. I bought it yesterday, so it's fresh, just like the fruit you had yesterday."

She made her own way over to a seat next to Pollux, grabbing her plate and a fork, and then began to eat. Taking several bites, she decided to break the silence, and turned to her guest.

"Did you sleep well, in your room? I hope it wasn't too uncomfortable..." She said, a faint look of worry coming to her face. She didn't exactly have much of a...bedroom set up in there.

A tinge of dark blue colored Pollux's cheeks at Avis's smile. He didn't remember anyone telling him he was being so formal for the longest time and now it was just a part of him being a good house guest. He didn't want to take for granted her bringing him to her home. He scratched the back of his head as his plate was pushed toward him. He coiled himself around a chair before sitting in it. Taking the fork and taking a few bite before the silence was broken.

"Oh. I slept fine, I've actually slept in worse places to be perfectly honest." He said, looking and feeling very awkward. From abandoned homes to tree branches to right on the water's edge in the case that a trainer was making a nightly round by the beach or docks. One the floor of a home was more than fantastic at this point.

He took a few more bites, purring at the taste of something was wasn't instant for once. "Still, I must say that this village is quite...uh...what's the word?" The dragonair thumped his tail orb on the floor in thought as he tapped his fork on the plate. "Quaint? I mean, any place that I can sleep through the night without waking up hearing footsteps coming my way or a pokeball thrown at my head is more than fantastic."

Avis let out a quiet laugh again at his blue cheeks, and then quickly took a bite of her food. Pollux was quite enjoyable now, despite how he'd seemed last not. Perhaps he wasn't so bad as she'd thought? "Never judge a book by its cover, I guess." She thought to herself, taking a bite of the peach she now had in her hand, a small, satisfied smile coming to her lips as she savored it for a moment.

"Oh, well that's very good to hear." She smiled, but couldn't help but wonder, how had the hard floor of a room been better than other places he could have slept in? She couldn't help but feel rather guilty as well, for not offering him any bedding to use, but it seemed he hadn't minded...

Avis smiled and quickly nodded. "It's quite the place, isn't it?" She said. "All the people here are very nice as well, from the humans to the resident and passing Gijinka. I found it wonderful, when I first came upon the place." She turned to look at him when he spoke of the people that seemed to come after him.

"You must have it really rough..." She said, slightly frowning. "The way it sounds, you barely get time to relax."

Pollux rubbed the back of his head again before stuffing the last of his eggs in his mouth. "Yeah, back home there aren't many gijinka That could pass for human unless they are of pokemon that already seem human. I knew a gardevoir who ran a Radio station for a number of years before anyone noticed." He chuckled, trying his best to lighten the mood.

She was right though, This village couldn't be all bad if not a single soul has come after her. Maybe he could at least try and mingle with the people here. It would be a shame not to take in the sights for the downtime that he so rarely got. Savoring it would be best for the time being. His tail absentmindedly coiled around an apple and pulled it toward himself.

"No. I don't really. Back home, we were so very common from what I remember. A couple pods of us along with other dragon types that would fly in from the top of the crater. It's only been this region that I've seen more humanoid gijinka." He took a bite of the apple before giving a look of 'how did this get here?' and shrugging. "Along the way, I've had trainers nearly catch me with pokeballs and nets and the like. So...uh..." A visible shiver went down his back. "But it doesn't matter right now. I mean this village is like a haven of sorts. Right?"

Listening to what Pollux had to say, and his small story about what it was like at where he used to live, Avis gave a small smile. It sounded wonderful, that place, wherever it was anyways. Something like Merrima Village, the more she thought about it, but probably plenty different all the same. Was there really, really another place somewhere out there like the village?

"Your home sounds like a really wonderful place." Avis said, smiling. "Peaceful, for sure. I wish I could say the same for this arceus forsaken place. She let out a quiet sigh, but left it at that. The discovery of the Gijinka had been a nightmare from start, all the way to now, and it didn't seem like there would ever be a finish.

"Is that so?" She said, tilting her head slightly. "It was quite a surprise for me to see someone like you, with such defining features. I've perhaps only seen one or two others like you before, but only glances, or a simple passing by. She shrugged.

Avis quickly nodded as he called Merrima a haven. "Yes, the people here are very kind." She smiled. "'Violence against Gijinka is strictly prohibited' here in this town, or at least that's what one of the villagers told me. That's why they chase out hunters if they see them trying to get in or wandering around." She said, a slight frown coming to her face as she mentioned the hunters. "But I've noticed more and more often, hunters trying to get inside...probably because it's no longer a rumor or a question about whether or not we Gijinka are here." She sighed. "But all the same, it's still the most safe place in Dallea, unless you can manage to find one of those hidden Gijinka Villages that I've heard about...though no one's actually found one yet, or at least, if they have, they haven't told anyone, and I don't blame them if they have and keep quiet. I wouldn't want to give away a safe place and home of the Gijinka if I were to find one."

Snickering at the comment of not seeing many with such defining features, Pollux shifted a bit in his seat. That was a thought for the day, get to know people in this village. At first, wasn't even sure if he should leave this house until night fall; but it was such a nice day from the looks of it outside from what he could see from the window. It was better than trying to make his way to the city and risk being hassled at best. Besides, he could ask some of the locals about cobrapeak to see when was the best time to make his way in if at all.

"It was a small town if you can call a town built in a crater next to a bigger one a town. he mused, "But it was the only place we could call safe for the most part. The ocean and having to either dive or fly in was usually a deterant for anyone seeking us harm." He turned towards the window with thoughts of just laying under it for a while or just laying up on the room for a bit would warm him up a bit. He was by no means an ekans or a seviper but a bit of sunning never hurt anyone.

The mention of hunters made pollux tense up a bit. At least trainers try, for the most part, try and capture them to have another partner in their travels...hunters on the other hand were a whole different story. "Well it's at least great that most of the people here know a hunter when they see one. Yeh?" A bit of an accent crept out from him in his nervousness. So much for being more fun.

Avis listened as he talked about his home happily. It was nice to hear him talking finally, something she didn't want to ruin. It seemed she'd successfully befriended him, even if it was just a simple, more of an acquaintance type of relationship. She thought about the place he explained, and found it quite interesting. A town in the middle of a crater? Flying in or diving would be much of a hassle as well, which she was sure was fine with Pollux; he'd said it kept out people for the most part. So it was somewhat similar to Merrima, or at least she thought it was, perhaps.

"It sounds like a beautiful place, if I do say so myself." She said. "Though I can't say that I don't think the idea of a town inside a crater doesn't sound strange..." Her voice trailed off, and then she let out a quiet laugh.

She nodded as Pollux mentioned the villagers recognizing the hunters. "Yeah, they usually keep an eye out for unfamiliar people around this place; if they see any of the sort they'll watch them for a while...if they notice anything suspicious, or if one of them recognizes a hunter from seeing them in Cobrapeak, or perhaps seeing them in action or any articles online about them if one of the hunters is so unlucky, they'll usually let several others know, to gather a group to either convince or chase the person out." She said, taking the last bite of her food. She thought about it for a moment longer, and then nodded. "Yes, the villagers keep this place incredibly safe for the most part." She offered a warm smile. "So there's no need to worry."

"Ca c'est bon. Pollux sighed, now relaxed enough to speak in his native accent a little. He took the last few bites of the food on his plate took a bite out of the apple that was coiled in in tail. The last time he had talked in that accent was months ago at the very least and that was to drive trainers away from chasing him.

If the village was as safe as she said it was, then what was the harm of at least going out. Or at the very least sun himself on the roof without anyone harassing him much...unless sitting on the roof was frowned upon. Only one way to find out really.

"Hey, Do you mind if I wander about the village for a bit then? I mean if it's safe then I guess I could restock a bit before I move on I guess." He said, scratching the back of his head nervously. He assumed he could always come back so long as he wasn't bringing trouble with him. Not like he would though, he knew he was slippery enough to keep hunters off his tail. And if the village was good at keeping them out then he had nothing to worry about...right?

Avis smiled as he spoke, unsure of what he'd actually just said, but finding his accent rather cute. She wasn't sure why he'd been trying to hide it, but it didn't matter. He had his own reasons, and she didn't need to dig around about it. It would probably set him off or make him nervous again anyways.

"Ah, you want to go out?" She said, smiling slightly. "Well, of course you can! It's not like I can force you to stay here anyways. Would you like me to come with you, though? Or are you just wanting to go alone? She asked. "If you're wanting to go to the farmers market, or to the store nearby, I can tag along and help you pay for some things." She smiled. "I've got a bit of leftover cash we can use there."

Pollux Zabat

This day seemed like it was going to go better than the last few days for Pollux. After a very close call from the day before, ending up in a village that was much like home was more than enough to get him to relax. He almost didn't want to leave. The first genuine smile in a long time crossed his face with a slight snicker. "You don't have to, really. I still have some of the money I made in the last city I was in." He said, shrugging. He realized a long time ago that some towns had a higher tolerance for his kind than others. Mostly coastal towns being the most relaxed unless one was a rare one like he was.

"I mostly wanna get a feel for the place. This is a new region for me after all and see if I actually wanna head into the city or not. The last region I was in was...uh...none too kind." The dragonair made a face as if saying that this statement was the biggest understatement of the century. Which it was.

By acreus, if Pollux had learned one thing in his life...it was the humans can turn on a gijinka no matter how integrated into the community they were. One of few reasons he wanted to explore the village. To get a feel for it himself.

Avis nodded slowly as he explained what he was wanting to do, and then turned down her offer, much to her disappointment. She would have loved to tag along with him...but she wouldn't force herself on him if he didn't want her to come with him to the village, all the same. It would be rude, and probably annoying too. Besides, she didn't have to worry about his safety for the most part here, and she trusted that if he needed help money wise, he would come back and ask her.

"Ah, I see." Avis said, nodding and crossing her arms as he finished speaking. "Well, if anything happens, or if you ever need help with anything while you're going around the village, head back here and let me know, so I can help you." She smiled. "But nonetheless, please do enjoy while looking around, and try saying hello to the villagers. I'm sure they'll welcome you with open arms and help you around in the village, even if you're just staying around for today only..."

Pollux Zabat

Pollux nodded, rising a bit from his coil sitting position and back down to where he was standing. As much as he thought about how nervous he was being in this house, it was the only refuge he had in this region for the time being. The beach was out of the question for the moment and he had no idea how the city was at this time, so at the very least, this village would have to do as sort of his..base if he could even call it that. He gave a quick bow to Avis, the everstone charm on his necklace bopping him in the face as he went down. "Thank you for letting me stay here. It really has been a pleasure. Though I think I'll be staying for a bit longer to be prefectly honest." he said with gratitude in his voice and his accent disappearing once more before heading toward the door.

He assumed by the time night fell, he would be back as his things were still in her house and he wasn't going to leave the general area any time soon. For now, the sun was out and warming his scales and it seemed that people were out and about. Humans and gijinka walking about like it was just another day.

And here he was, a rare kind making his way into the village proper with only his clothes and his small pack of money and other snacks. To anyone else, it looked like a woman's purse but anything was fair game at this point. He slouched, making himself look smaller than he actually was as he slithered about the village, nervously waving at some of the villagers that greeted him and staying out of people's way so he wouldn't have to cause too much of an issue. For now, the people seemed nice. The gijinka here that he asked for directions didn't seem like they hated it here. Quite the opposite really. Maybe this was a lucky break after all.
