Introduction

Shinta Island, a land haunted in mystery by the rest of the Pokemon world. This is a place notorious of shipwrecks, horridly violent natives, and a treasure surpassing the greatest king's treasure. It was thought to simply be nothing more than a rumor by most, but as a small passage was discovered between the Kalos and Hoenn regions that revealed a near tropical island, surrounded by dagger-like rocks which sliced ships that dared to near.
However, with a recent expedition funded by the professor's of all known regions there has been a new craft developed by Captain Stern. It proves that it should be able to surpass the rocks. However, most fear this new place for the rumors of the natives, possibly fearing death. Though three have been selected especially for this trip. One, being an Ace Trainer. They strong and nearly fearless, being named the leader of the group. The second is a scientist, an assistant of sorts to take notes, slightly reserved and easily manipulated. The third, of which being a pokemon ranger, though now is a full fledged trainer, a specialist for the wilderness though a bit cocky, and stubborn.
Little do they know however that the island is inhabited by a group of hybrids "The Tribe of Warriors" they call themselves. Please list your favorite pokemon when reserving a slot. They live in a happy seclusion without any pokemon around, for they have become them. Gijinka they call themselves, a mixture of humans and pokemon, though most are only one pokemon, as per species. They are oblivious to the outside world and it's use of pokemon, though they know their origins of them well. However, the sage of the tribe described a vision to the members. It was of newcomers, different than themselves and powerless.
Some members are reacting happily, wanting to know more about the people. Though others in the tribe are fearing them, and preparing to attack the moment they step foot on the island. What will happen, and how can you help turn the tides?

Vincent jumped off the boat, the screech of a Staraptor echoed lightly around the little beach that the dingy of a boat had docked on. His legs shook lightly as he landed, trying to get used to the land again "Thank Arceus." he muttered under his breath before put his hands on his knees.
He hated the water immensely, ever since he had his unfortunate accident in the river behind his home. He dared to look back and whimpered silently. He never showed his fear out intentionally but this was one of the small fears of where it would only come out. He hated those moments of weakness but there wasn't anything that could be done.
He shook off the last bit of his dear and held out his arm, Ventra landing happily "Rrrrraaaaapppttoooorrrr" the pokemon cried out, translating to "Ya Boss, you got it" in would be pokemon, the cry echoed throughout the island. "Comon girls" he shouted to the boat, wanting to wake up his partners as to where he could explore, wanting to see all this island had to offer, though he had an off sense that he would be running, the adrenaline making his arms tense a bit.
Mariam patted the head of her small Magnemite hopping calm him. He did not being around so much water yet alone water what so ever. It was in her nature to be so shy. "It will be fine Hertz. We are almost there." She said before feeling a slight shift in the boats movement. Perhaps they were there after all. She opened her journal and began to write.
"Day one: The Arrival. The ride to the island was quite relaxing but now is not the time to relax. I am quite excited due to the various possibilities outside of this boat. I wonder what will be ahead of me on this journey. I wish to achieve all information i can on what this new place has to offer. I have packed various things from cameras to sketch books and journals. My studies begin at once."
She closed the journal slowly and sighed in relief before hearing a voice that seemed from outside the boat. it must have been Vincent. She placed her journal back into her bag and ensured that she had everything she needed. She smiled while picking up Hertz and holding him comfortingly. "Are you excited?" She asked in a tender voice. The pokemon shyly snuggled into her hold making her laugh slightly. "Perhaps i do spoil you but i don't mind it. Come, we have much to do." She said while beginning to walk.
Just another peaceful day in the tribe. Kuroyami was watching over daily life of gijinkas occasionally helping someone or playing with children. Everywhere she went, Lysander followed and assisted her with her tasks occasionally mumbling something like "I shouldn't be doing something like this." Nothing out of ordinary was happening, nobody has attacked village in weeks and it seemed like finally things were looking up for the tribe of gijinkas. However both Kuroyami and Lysander were uneasy. They knew that it was calm before storm and that soon something unpredictable will happen. But no matter what will happen both of them will protect the village.
Kuroyami continued playing with children, teaching them new moves and ways of protecting themselves while Lysander was sitting near tree enjoying warm sunlight. Suddenly, Kuroyami froze and looked towards the beach. Something has arrived. Lysander instantly sensed that she has noticed something and ran up to black haired woman.
"Is something wrong?" Lysander whispered in order not to trouble children that were still carelessly playing with Kuroyami's long hair.
"Something is coming.... I can sense it..... near beach. It is neither pokemon, nor gijinka...." she said her eyes fixed in distance. "Go and check who that is. Don't attack them alone, just find out who they are."
"Roger," Lysander answered with a grin and instantly disappeared into forest. It has been a while since he has had a good battle so he will not this chance slip past him.
Alex slowly walked off the boat, she looked around at her surrounding intently taking in the scenery. The only sound that was heard was the sound of pokemon and the waves. It was peaceful.
Moving a strand of her hair away from her face, she looked to her side where her partner Stripes stood. Placing her hand at the back of his head she began to scratch the back of his ear, his fur softly rubbing against her hand.
"This is a new place so watch out" She told him quietly.
Although their was a group of them for this mission she had never met any of them before let alone knew their names. From what she was told they were all different and were chosen specifically for this mission.
All she knew was it was herself, another girl and a boy. They were all around the same age.
"Comon girls" She heard a voice boy shout. Narrowing her eyes slightly toward the direction where the voice came from. A boy who looked no older than seventeen stood a little in front of her a Staraptor perched on his arm.
She was probably going to end up in a fight with this guy that's for sure. She just hoped the the other girl would be able to handle them.
Shifting her stylus which was strapped to her leg she made her way over towards him, Stripes following closely behind. "What's the first plan then?" She grumbled slightly.
Vincent smiled to both the girls, trying to act as genuine as possible as he spoke. "Well..." he said gesturing to the girl and he arcanine. "See, this is an island so it has to have a middle. I have a bag full of pokeballs, enough berries and food to last for about a month, three loyal partners, and enough drive to get to that center. I say we go to the highest point we can find and scope out a rough size of the island, then we can find some type of civilization or something hopefully." he said happily, feeling as if that would work.
He knew he was outsmarted when it came to pure scouting. He was a fighter at heart and knew he would be best to fighting and catching any pokemon out there. Other than that, he was just a simple pawn compared to the two. "That's all I got, any other suggestions?" he asked both, trying to figure the two up. "Oh, and I'm Vincent by the way, just call my Vinny if you wanna. What about you two, we should most likely get to know eachother a bit. " he said offering his hand out between the two, Ventra offering a glare to both the pokemon around him.
Illness and disease are always a daily part of life in the tribe, most of the minor illness and small bruses, the days were mostly the same but nothing short of boring for the witch hat wearing ghost. She levatated over the ground slightly, sitting crosslegged as she craddled a bunearry child as it cooed and giggled and she pet it. "Your headheat has gone down little one, You should be fine in the next few hours for 'ure." she said as her chest gems glowed slightly. The mother, a lopunny gijinka smiled in joy. "Keep her out of the sun for the time being. Other than that she should be fine." The lopunny nodded as the ghost handed over the child, now nearly napping her her arms, and watched her walk out with a smile.
However, she could feel something in the distance. Something different than normal. It sent a rare shiver down her form as she wandered outside of her hut and into the sunlight. If anything, Kuroyami probably noticed it anyway. She needed to find Culpanas. maybe he knew something about it.
Culpanas
It wasn't often that Culpanas wandered outside the tribe walls, most times he would wander about the graves of the decesed or resting in some shady area. Not on the beach digging though the sand with some of the children. Green dots floated around his hair, amusing some of the children as they picked through his hair to catch them. "Now now, I can see you with those." He said, prompting a laugh from them.
A rare moment for him to smile and laugh, but this was to hide a growing uneasiness. Ever since the sage announced the comming beings, he had a worse time resting. The thought of those coming and not knowing the reason for it unnerved him. Playing with children was better then diving into insanity at the moment, hopefully the feeling that was present would leave soon.
Mariam looked around in wonder while seeing the place they had just came to. It was so beautiful. She reached into her bag taking out one of the cameras she had to document with. She held the camera steadily as she got a nice picture of the shore of the island. "Simply lovely." She said as she placed the camera back into her bag. "Ah... It's very nice to meet you both as well. I am Mariam." She said as she looked at the male and female as well.
She then looked down at the small baby pokemon in her hands. "This is Hertz." The pokemon noticed the other pokemon near and quickly turned to Mariam hiding in her comfert. She giggled slightly. "How adorable."
Zuberi
The lone gravedigger began to rip at the ground deepening the grave he had started the day before. He preferred his job and the silence that followed it . Silence gave him time to think and time to reflect on himself. He wasn't quite sure where Miss Emilein or Culpanas (or Pan Pan as he called him for jokes of course) were but that was not his concern. Although he did envy them a bit. How they could easily interact with others without having the urge to eat their souls and mummify them. And so the gravedigger continued.
After a few minutes of digging he paused sniffing the air lightly. "Well what do we have here....." He said with a smirk of pure excitement. "This scent..... So rare. I've smelled it once before but..... what may it be hmm?" He said before placing down the tool he had in his hand. He wondered if the leader had caught scent of this.
Lysandre was running through dark shadows of woods towards the beach where Kuroyami had sensed the unknown presence. Although he did not possess such powers as tribe leader, even he could tell were there strangers were. All he needed to do is found out what exactly where they and if they were dangerous. No! He needed to find out HOW dangerous they were. Nobody except gijinkas or pokemon had ever set their foot on this island, so without doubt the newcomers had some ulterior motive.
After some quick and agile leaping through trees, Lysandre finally reached edge of forest which also was beginning for wide and clear beach. The beach was indeed a beautiful place, so it wasn't rare that tribe went there to play and relax. Usually it was really quiet and peaceful here, however this time Lysander heard some murmuring and voices. Once he got closer and looked he saw some big, weird object floating near shore and three.... beings on beach. Their appearance shocked Lysandre for a second.
Somehow they weren't too different from gijinkas, however it was impossible to tell with what pokemon where they mixed. Lickitung? No, they would be fat then. Gardevoir? No, their hair would be green. Machoke? No, they would be more muscular then. They looked like no pokemon whatsoever. They had NO distinctive features. Could they actually be.... human? That's impossible. Humans exist only in legends....
But apparently not, because they were now standing right in front of Lysandre. Curious, he decided to get closer to them in order to hear what they were talking about and find out if he could even understand their language. "See, this is an island so it has to have a middle. I have a bag full of pokeballs, enough berries and food to last for about a month, three loyal partners, and enough drive to get to that center. I say we go to the highest point we can find and scope out a rough size of the island, then we can find some type of civilization or something hopefully," said the male. Lysander could actually understand them. They talked exactly the same language as he did. And now he has even found out some valuable information about their plans and what things they possessed. Although he did not know what a "pokeball" was. Something related to pokemon probably.
For now Lysander decided to retreat and report back to Kuroyami. With last glance at humans, Lysandre turned around and disappeared into depths of forest.
For once the spiritomb couldn't be found anywhere to Emilein's knowledge. Not among the trees, in his hut or anywhere he would normally be found. He floated in around the village, rubbing under her chin as she pondered the whereabouts of her friend. His normal spots were empty for the time being, though there was one place that she didn't check. Then again he was rarely there unless he was showing someone the place where their body was laid to rest. "He has to be there at least, Someone must have passed on today!" she twirled herself and disappeared into the air, making her way toward the burial grounds.
The Mismaguis didn't often visit the graveyard, her job as a healer required her to not let people come here if possible. Or at least that's what she thought her job was. At sad place this if there was one, she remembered the names on some of the graves as patients she had tried to keep alive. Some passed on from sickness and others from mortal wounds, none the less deaths that didn't produce ghost gijinkas. Emilein started to hum to herself, a somber tune as she looked for her friend and remember some of the names on the graves at the same time.
Honestly, Kuroi was a wreck in the morning. She usually looks awful. But, she just keeps it like that. She got out of her bed, and checked the position of the sun. It's afternoon? She thought to herself. She better be off. But, where should she go this time for an adventure? She looked around the island, deciding she should go over to the beach to look for shells. The shells were very pretty, so they must of been valuable, right?
She took some berries, and she got her rucksack and head over to the beach. The journey was fairly short due to the fact she knew the closest areas, but it was still pretty far in comparison to the tribe. But, she heard voices. She couldn't recognize these voices. But she ignored them, knowing it was probably just a Chatot. She finally got to the beach, and it was beautiful- well, more beautiful then last time. The water shimmered in the sunlight, and the sand was a pale peach.
Kuroi looked around for shells that stood out, and could be valuable, or pretty enough to be kept. She scavanged the beach, but to no avail. She found nothing! She found that really odd. The only reason why the shells would disappear is if the island is disturbed. But, it hasn't been disturbed in thousands of years! At least, that's what the elders told me. She sighed, while she was here, she might as well take a swim. She loved swimming, but the village said nobody could swim in the drinking water. She took a leap, and went into the water. She swam around the shore, content with the cool water. Until she bumped into something big. She got her head out of the water, to see... A drinking bowl? No, it was too big. Is it a boat? She's never seen a boat anything like that! She was sure the tribe already knows about this disaster, so she just continued on swimming.
Alex listened silently as Vincent began to explain what the plan was as well as what he had bought with him. She had to admit he bought some handy stuff with him that's for sure, although most of them had bought the basics each ended up bringing some extra's.
Alex nodded when he mentioned that they should go to the highest point on the island and find some civilisation.
"I would recommend we find some place that we could also set up camp, although the boat is somewhat comfy. I prefer to be out in the open." She stated.
When he officially introduced himself she could help but snort as he said his name, It sounded slightly posh not that she could actually say anything about her name.
The other girl who she soon found out was called Mariam Introduced herself and her partner Hetz who was a young magnemite, deciding she better introduce herself she let out a soft sigh.
"Nice to meet you both. I'm Alexis but I would prefer you to call me Alex. This is one of my partners Stripes, don't question the name I was six when I named him" She told them as she rubbed her hand through Stripes fur.
Mariam nodded as the other female introduced herself. She was aware that she not the other male wasn't a scientist and that they were each pretty different. "I do not now much about outdoors." She said while looking at the both of them. "But I am certain that finding higher ground could be better for us. Weren't aren't aware if the pokemon here are dangerous or not." She said before petting Hertz lightly. "I ensure to document them regardless."
Zuberi
Zuberi continued to sniff the air until sensing a presents in the graveyard. It wasn't different like the ones he had smelled before. This soul had a sweeter auroma to it. He smirked knowing who it was instantlyz he had memorized the flavors of each of the tribes souls and could tell them apart easily. He grabbed his digging tool and began to walk following the trail.
He smiled seeing the woman in the distance. "Well, perhaps I should be honored to have such a presents in such a dreadful place." He said walking to the female. "Tell me Miss Emilein, what brings you to my little neck of the woods?" He said while dropping his digging tool and dusting off his gloves.
Emilein twitched at Zuberi's voice, not realizing he was in the area. For being a ghost, she thought that she would have known that he was around. Then again, the graveyard wasn't a place that she frequented often. "I was hoping that I could find culpa here, but I can't really find him." She said giggling as she hid her mouth with her hands. "But I don't mind your company. Do you happen to know anything about those beings that are supposted to be comin'?" The Mismagius seemed to flow with the breeze as she spoke, a soft one coming from the beach. One with a strange scent that she couldn't pin on anything she knew.
Culpanas
"Come now children. Your caretakers should be looking for you soon."
The forests of the island provided not only shade for the resting mortician, but also twisting trails where only the tribe knew where they went. The children waved him goodbye as they scurried off, leaving Culpanas to his thoughts. The forest was quiet. Quiet enough to drop sticks a ways off and for him to hear it and hide. Something was wrong. The beach was normally a place where he could at least relax in the sun and not have worries. He looked through the trees, still having vision on the beach. "Something feels familiar...but nothing like this..." He muttered to himself as he started to levitate and make his way toward the beach. Confirmation was all he needed. Get in and get out.
Vincent smiled back at the girls, both agreeing with him, just as he liked it. "Lovely, now come on let's go guys." he said with a voice full of vigor. He was genuinely happy, this was the first new place he had been since finishing his Kalos tour, winning him his fourth title. He had already been through Johto and Unova but never faced their champions, leaving two spots in his trophy cabinet for the respective titles.
From what he gathered the girl with a magnemite was a scientist, obviously not a brawler by way her pokemon moved. But, as for the other girl it was different. Her arcanine stood with a stance of pride, but also a relaxed set of shoulders. This was a pokemon used to battling, but not one that liked to. It bother him but a small peck to the cheek from Ventra made him focus back on reality.
He took a look around, three hundred and sixty degrees and pointed out a large hill, poking above the treeline. "I think that would be a good place to set up a camp, let's go before it gets dark." he said dashing in blindly, his bird following happily and cooing back to the girls, motioning them to follow.
Mestre slowly opened his eyes from meditation, the voices of the spirits told him of of the three, one of power, one of knowledge, and one of courage. Each also a fool, a coward, and and one vain. Though they never told him who was which. He personally couldn't wait to meet the newcomers, though most thought they spelled doom but he knew they would help... or at least thats what... He told him.
As he began to walk back to the village he felt a small presence. "They're here..." he muttered to himself before rushing back to his home. He was surprisingly light on his feet for such a tall fellow, but he hated to run for it made his mind do the same, and when his mind raced bad things happened. But, that was not the issue now. If someone was to hurt the three it could spell doom and disaster for the island.
"KUROYAMI!" he shouted as he found himself a few feet away from the leader. He moved to her side and began to pant, catching his breath. "The n-new comers are here...Jarachi..." he said, muttering the swear under his breath. He nearly collapsed down as he tried to regain himself, not used to being active.
Some time after Lysandre had left, Mestre suddenly came rushing towards Kuroyami making children scatter in all directions. "KUROYAMI!" He shouted few feet away from her. "The n-new comers are here...Jarachi..."
"Yes, I know!" Kuroyami interrupted him shooting a sharp glance at Xatu who had made an unneeded scene in front of children who now looked at Zoroark with worried expressions.
"What... newcomers?" Young charmander mustered out while holding onto Kuroyami's fluffy hair. Leader just smiled and patted little boy's head. "Don't worry, by newcomers he meant new gijinkas! I'm sure you all will become good friends with them!" Kuroyami exclaimed in cheerful voice, thus hiding her concern over the matter. Children instantly relaxed and cheered on thought of having new friends.
"But now you all need to go home, I have to greet them first and explain them how things work around here," she continued and children obediently said "goodbye" and went home. When last one was out of sight, Kuroyami turned back towards Mestre: "You should think a little more before you speak. Children do not need to know of that. Lysandre has already left to investigate the strangers, he should be returning any minute now!"
Just as she said that Lysandre quietly emerged from forest with grim expression on his face. "I have found the intruders!" He reported to Kuroyami.
"Well, who are they then?" Kuroyami asked, however somewhere deep inside she already knew the truth.
"Humans... I think. They were just like us, speaking same language as us, however they had no features that would give away their relation to pokemon. Luckily I have found out that they are going to search for highest point on this island in order to see it better from above. Also they seem to be carrying food which would be enough to supply them for month and something called "pokeballs". Their goal is to find civilization on this island," Lysandre explained what he had heard to leader who was carefully catching every word.
"Dammit, I knew it. We are their goal after all. We can't be half-hearted on this matter. We must call all grown-up gijinkas that know of humans and heard what they think about this. But first...." Kuroyami looked back at Mestre who was still standing right next to her. "What else can you tell us about them?"
Zuberi smirked as the woman talked. He sighed then gave a slightly annoyed smile. "Well, PanPan often wonders off leaving me to do the digging and the dirty work. Such hospitality, right? But he usually goes to play with children at the beach or the shore." He said as he sniffed the air lightly. "Mmm yes. If you are referring to the strange presents in the air then yes." He said while lightly laughing. "I have encountered this sort of soul scent before. Long ago, back when the island was young. But unlike this one, it was weak. As if showing up lightly then just vanishing into the water. As if, it disappeared." He said while looking at his hands. "It is the scent of a human. It is a strong scent that consists of a mixture of pure berries and a slight touch of iron. And i fear we are in more danger because i sense more than one." He smirked slightly. "Well Miss Emilein, that is where my theory stands. But as im sure your aware of, humans are not legends."
Emilein blinked and shook her head slightly. "Humans? But I thought...." She stopped mid-sentance in thought just before her eyes going wide. "They always crashed on the rocks." she said in a sudden ephany. "They never got here before because of the rock and sharpedo around there. I wonder how they got through is my question..." She tipped her hat, looking up at the sky in thought of the many possiblities. "If anything, they could expand on the little collection I have."
"And I have been meaning to talk to Culpa about helping you more. You two have the same job if you were to ask me and I've been hoping you two would get along more." She had always been one to keep the peace between the two. Stiffling their budding arguments until she left to either rest or tend to someone's wounds. What they did between them was on them, though she imagined them actually talking rather than having a tension between them a scyther could slice through. Oh well.
Hitching her backpack up onto her back she began to walk in the direction of the hill following behind Vincent silently. Normally she would moan about being given orders by someone not much older than her, but today she couldn't be bothered. It was also the fact that they were on an unknown island and had no idea what or who was on the island.
She felt Stripes stroll casually beside her, smiling to herself as his fur brushed against her legs. It was weird walking herself as she quite often rode on his back whilst on missions but she couldn't risk leaving the other behind, Who knows what survival knowledge they have.
"I do not now much about outdoors."She heard the scientist girl Mariam state, this caused her to giggle slightly to herself.
"That's why I they have chosen each of us to come, each having a different skill or talent. From my guess by the way you speak and hold yourself your more of the intellectual type of person? Scientist if I'm correct?" She spoke with a smirk on her face, which caused her to come across quite cocky.
Turning towards Vincent, her smirk still on her face. "And for you, well I'm guessing your a trainer? You bought a lot of pokeballs that's for sure"

Mestre replied to the small scoff of the children panicking and the tribe leader calming them down. Mestre often was puzzled by this argument, being a sage he knew of the evils that fell upon this world and thought it odd to shield children from fear. They were going to have to learn the truth sooner or later, and it always seemed to be later would be better in the eyes of the leader. He however could not do anything, them being the only place he had to lay his head.
"Humans... I think. They were just like us, speaking same language as us, however they had no features that would give away their relation to pokemon. But first....What else can you tell us about them?" Mestre rolled his eyes, the purple energy from his chest chilling his spine as he spoke, his voice deeper. "Oh, I thought that I should watch my mouth"
He appeared to have a smirk before he spoke again. "Well, there is one male, and two females. One more powerful than our best warriors, one more knowledgeable than we could ever hope to be, and one more courageous than even you dear leader." He said plainly and turn his back, starting to walk and forth, pacing. "I plan someone should meet the one traveling up the mountain, I feel they may take different leads around our homeland. It must be someone average, for if we send someone too high in power, if they are encumbered they won't be able to send for help. So, a pair of a warrior and a commoner would be the best bet on who to send as a welcome party."
