Name || Nanami Sadamatsu
Nickname/Epithet || The Dual Champion
Gender || Female
Age || 22
Personality – Nanami can only be described as an incredibly energetic Trainer who jumps at the chance of battle when she has the chance to. Reckless and preferring the strong, brute force of Pokemon rather than their defensive capability, according to her, only the best of powers stand in her team. While friendly and kind to other people- always the first to rush up to a newcomer and give them a handshake, she also takes kindly to her Pokemon. Her many travels had ensured a strong bond of trust and friendship between her and the Pokemon of her team.
Of course, every “hero” has flaws- Nanami’s being her insistent skirt-chasing. Nanami is a little too friendly to people she takes an interest in, always cracking corny pick-up lines when the time seems too right. While she seems to have a clear love interest in mind, it’s also hinted by her friends and companions that this has never stopped Nanami from hitting on anyone else that strikes her fancy, though she hasn’t taken someone more seriously than her current interest in a while.
In battle, she gets very pumped, barely able to keep herself still. She paces around her side of the field, throws her hands into the air, cheers for her Pokemon- no one is able to tie down Nanami for too long. She’s stubborn and unrelenting, and could easily be referred to most as a ball of energy. Lots and lots of energy.
Description – Surprisingly standing at only 5’3”, Nanami has dyed pink hair, her eyes a deep pink- a feature gained from her mother. Most of the time she’s seen with her long coats- a white one and a brown one- or anything she finds comfortable to move around in. It’s noted that Nanami doesn’t seem to have much taste for fashion- her friend Magenta calls her strange blends as an “offensive blend of colors that should never go together”, much to her chagrin. One thing that is always present on her body is the long, pale pink scarf she wears. It never vanishes from her clothing, no matter what. She hasn’t told anyone as to why she wears it all the time yet- even in the summer.
Region of Origin – Johto, New Bark Town
Current Location – Kalos, Lumiose City
History – Nanami Sadamatsu was a champion of humble beginnings- born and raised in the quiet town of New Bark, nothing much happens in her life. The residents noticed that Nanami seemed to prefer rough-housing with the neighborhood boys- never failing to come back each time, with a new bruise or scrape. Nevertheless, the little girl was always extremely pleased with her feats and “medals of honor”. For a while, Nanami remained in the town, studying under her father who was a teacher at the local school for a full 13 years of her life. Until one day.
Professor Elm had visited to announce that he was looking for potential students to help with his research. Nanami’s father, already noticing that the girl was just about ready to go off on her own, finally decided to tell Elm about her and suggested her. He entrusted her safety to her childhood friend and local school nerd, Raito Usamaru. Setting out with a Totodile that had energy that almost matched that of her own, Nanami officially began her journey at age 13.
Upon questioning the Gym Leaders she had fought, most of them agreed on one thing- this Sadamatsu kid was no pushover and had potential to become a very good Trainer. After collecting the 8 badges of Johto for a year, she participated in the Pokemon League and made it all the way to the finals- barely beating the Elite Four and Champion by the skin of her teeth. Needless to say, Nanami’s reign as Champion wasn’t that long- only taking two years at best. Bested by another Trainer, Nanami was dismayed.
Returning to New Bark, she sought advice from her mother, who introduced her to a man who was once a competitor of the Pokemon League as well. He pointed Nanami to the Kanto region, suggesting she train there as he guided her all throughout through phone calls. Soon enough, there in Kanto, Nanami met a girl who called herself Magenta who was soon going to become one of her best friends- and perhaps even a love interest-. Upon collecting the 16th badge after another year, Nanami didn’t rush into the League yet- she traveled to Hoenn, Raito’s real home, and trained there as well. No one knows as of now if the young woman had also taken the challenge of Hoenn, but she made a striking comeback to Johto by winning a tournament- where many strong Trainers gathered, powerful Trainers from prestigious academies, and even a few of her old friends.
But Nanami had no time to relish in the spotlight yet. She made a second attempt at the Pokemon League and made an astounding comeback- she was stronger and better than the young girl who had once struggled against the Elite Four. Beating the Champion, Nanami reclaimed her title and was from then on referred to as the Dual Champion for winning two Leagues. For another year, Nanami was challenged by many Trainers from all around, and she fought every battle as she could. After that year, though, trouble seemed to arise in the faraway region of Unova. She traveled to Unova as representative of Johto and Kanto’s Champion, and found her long-lost friend Magenta there.
After she had fought more battles in Unova, Nanami relinquished her title of Champion to follow Magenta to Kalos. Though she was no longer the Champion, Nanami Sadamatsu was remembered by the people of Johto and Kanto to be the girl who fought against the best Trainers twice, and emerged victorious both times. But all this traveling would sure tire her out, wouldn’t it?
At the invitation to relax and battle at a set of privately owned islands, Nanami jumped at the chance immediately. And she hadn’t fought a good battle against another Champion in a while after all…
Team - The team that Nanami lovingly calls White Sword consists only of the best of the best- at least, according to Nanami. These particular ones have been in her care for the longest time and have served her faithfully throughout all her travels, no matter how crazy the ideas of the young Trainer were. As an added trivia, Nanami's Key Stone for both Carrots and Yamato is located on a choker hidden by her scarf.
Ayato (Feraligatr) || Nanami's first Pokemon. Ayato was her longest partner, with an energy that matches even her own. It's no wonder the two are always in sync- Ayato's recklessness and love for battle is something that Nanami can appreciate, and the two are never seen far from each other at all. Ayato has never strayed from Nanami's side, although while he is the first Pokemon on White Sword, he's the youngest.

Shinta (Sandslash) || Initially caught as a challenge from the Safari Zone in Johto, Nanami was surprised to find that the little Sandshrew clung to her leg when she tried to put it back into the PC box. Trying to reason with it only made the little Pokemon even more eager, and with great hesitation Nanami decided to try him out. Shinta proved himself very useful against a battle with Jasmine, which solidified Nanami's belief that he had some serious potential. She decided to keep him in White Sword, and the Sandslash hasn't failed her.

Karasu (Nidoking) || Caught when Nanami was preparing for her gym battle with Whitney. She had met up with Raito on the road and he suggested to get one of the Nidorans, as they learned Fighting moves fairly early. Following her friend's advice, Nanami managed to capture a stubborn little blue Nidoran, which she later evolved until it got Double Kick to fight against Whitney. Confused as to why it didn't evolve into a Nidorina, Raito corrected Nanami and told her she had captured a Shiny Nidoran- a male one. Seeing how well he performed, Nanami did a little more research and found that it could evolve to an even stronger form- Nidoking, through a Moon Stone. Excited to get a Nidoking of her own, she raised Karasu patiently. The Nidoking currently stands as one of the oldest among the team, though he's rather detached from them compared to the others.

Sorata (Dragonite) || One of Nanami's undoubtedly favorite Pokemon in White Sword. Even though Sorata was one of the most mind-numbingly hard Pokemon to train from his weak Dratini form, Nanami managed to persevere. His training was stunted as a Dragonair due to Nanami's defeat as a Champion, but when she traveled to Kanto, she managed to evolve Sorata into a Dragonite just in time for her Gym Battle with Erika. Sorata is a mild-mannered Dragonite who surprisingly enough, loves apples and coconuts.

Yamato (Blaziken) || Nanami's starter in Hoenn. It was entrusted to her by Raito's father, who had rescued it from an old Team Magma Grunt who didn't want the little chick Pokemon anymore. Though as a Torchic, Yamato was a clumsy and constantly tripped over himself, Nanami didn't find much difficulty in training him. It wasn't long until the tiny Torchic turned into a powerful Blaziken. Upon meeting with Raito at Victory Road, Raito was impressed with how Nanami had raised Yamato and gave her the Blazikenite he found- he didn't have a Blaziken, so he wouldn't need it. Yamato especially helped when fighting the Pokemon League the second time around.

Carrots (Metagross) || Truly, when stuck in a cave, what should a Trainer do? Well, of course, to look for an exit, but Nanami decided to look for Pokemon to help her get out. Finding a Beldum somewhere in the cave, she was happy to find and catch it- another addition to the Pokedex was found. Due to its shape though, Nanami's strange naming sense named it Carrots due to its semblance to a carrot- according to Nanami. Somewhere in the cave, she found a Metagrossite, though she wasn't sure if it fit Beldum. After a while of training in Hoenn, she was surprised when her Metang turned into a Metagross. Nanami found that the Metagrossite fit the Pokemon perfectly, and his moveset wasn't anything to scoff at either...
