In this roleplay, you exist on a secret island hidden to the humans in the Pokemon World. This island is known by it's inhabitants as Mohka. Mohka is the largest Pokemon community in existence, with Pokemon from all generations and all areas residing there. It is a safe haven from those who do not wish to live in risk of being captured by the humans. Mohka is a place of peace, prosperity, and growth over all.

Or at least, it was.

A group is forming, a group that threatens the way of life for the inhabitants of Mohka. A group that sees themselves as the leaders of Mohka. A group that forces slavery to those who will not bow at their command and destroys those who get in their way of conquest. They will stop at nothing to obtain what they want, even resulting to murder those who pose as a legitimate threat. They are powerful, united, and ready for conquest.

So how do you beat these guys?

You have been sent to this world and transformed from a human to a Pokemon. You and four others. The four of you shall adventure together discovering cool area to explore, neat items to use, and interesting enemies to face as you discover what the organization that is taking over the island.

However, dimension jumping comes with a terrible side effect: You have no recollection as to who you are and why you are here!

Now hold on. Before we begin this epic quest, there some some things to keep in mind. The structure of this roleplay is a "Choose Your Own Adventure/Butterfly Effect" style. This means that you shape the story and it's outcomes based on your decisions and interactions with the people. My job as the GM will be to keep you on the trail and try not to deviate too far from it. However, whichever trail you choose to walk on is your own. The decisions you make can determine what you find out, what you find to help you aid in your quest, and what your actual quest is. I will give you a goal: defeat as many commanding positions of this organization as possible. The identities of which and the locations of which are yet to be discovered by your own observations.

Information shall be given as you progress through the roleplay and interact with the environment. I shall play the "environment" so to speak. I am the enemies you face, the people you meet, the shops you buy from, the dungeons you explore, the treasures you find, et cetra. You will form bonds (or break them) with this cast of characters. But keep in mind...any decision your group makes can affect major outcomes in the future for your group.

Combat will not reflect any of the Pokemon combat you may or may not be used to playing in a Pokemon video game, that is, a turn-based pre-selection of moves to pick from that have stats and whatnot. The combat in this roleplay is REALISTIC. There are no clear defined moves, although I expect RPers to use the ones on Bulbapedia as a reference. You don't forget a move to add a move, but you keep all the knowledge you learn as you progress. Sometimes, you don't even need to use a move based on your abilities. Sometimes, a simple kick or punch or headbutt will do the trick. I'm saying IMPROVISE.

Now, the character selection process. This next sentence is IMPORTANT, so read it very CLEARLY and with great FOCUS. I DO NOT WANT YOU TO MAKE A CHARACTER YET! You will get the chance to make your character, but first, you need to discover what Pokemon you shall become. There are 36 potential Pokemon you can become, but you will only choose from 9. Like in the video games, there is a personality test you shall take that will narrow the field of Pokemon to choose from. When you take this test, I want you to give answers in the perspective of the character you wish to play as. However, I won't tell you how I judge the tests in the personality regard, I won't tell you which 36 Pokemon you have a chance of being, and I will tell you which 9 Pokemon you have the chance of becoming after the personality test is completed. This is done to not only choose which Pokemon you shall become, but to weed out similar characters with the same personality. It makes for a very one-sided experience.

Now how does one take this personality test? Well, first you must PM me or write in OOC that you wish to be a part of the roleplay and you want to take the personality test. Yes, you must STATE BOTH in your message to me so I can confirm this. Then, I will send you a PM with ten questions to be answered based on your character's personality. No two personality tests will be the same. You must answer each one and send the answers to me through PM, NOT THROUGH OOC! That reason will be explained later. I shall judge your character's answers and send you, THROUGH PM, nine Pokemon to choose from. This selection process is first come first serve as there will not be duplicates of the same Pokemon. So the first one to send in a Personality Test Answers sheet will have the widest selection to choose from, not like the field is getting any smaller. After you select the Pokemon you wish to be, THEN you can create a character that I will accept. The character should be the Pokemon you chose and should reflect the personality that helped define your answers on the Personality Test. Once I have four characters that take the test, pick their Pokemon, and make their character, we will begin.



1. The Standard Roleplaying Rap Sheet:
No God-Modding, Mary Sueing, or anything like the sort. Simple rule really. If you don't know what any of this means, well get educated in the forum.

2. Social Interaction:
Roleplays are the most fun when you roleplay with other people. If you decide to ignore interaction with everyone, then you will be bored with the roleplay real quick. Talk to the rest of you group, talk to the NPCs, and if they're ignoring you, talk to me. I'll straighten it out.


3. Y U No Here?:
That being said, stay active. If you plan on leaving for a time, let me know. I can work around it.

4. Violence Meter:
This is the Pokemon world, not Ultimate Hellsing. Keep it PG in terms of violence. Don’t put anything like “Charizard pulled out the still beating heart of Scizor and laughed triumphantly as he proceeded to eat it.” Good God, no. I plan to take this beyond simply fainting, but nothing gruesome.

5. Sexuality Meter:
This is the Pokemon world, not Harry Potter erotica. Keep sexuality out of it. The most I want out of this department is maybe a kiss on the cheek. Anything beyond that and we have a furry convention that I’m noping out of.

6. Writing is Important!:
At least a paragraph a post please, minimum of four sentences. It’s not a bad requirement. There’s more to write than just dialogue. Example, personal thoughts and personal actions. Also, examining other people’s actions. At the same time, don’t write a novel a post. I’m not expecting two thousand words a post on average. Keep grammar somewhat consistent. I’m no Grammar Nazi, but there’s a problem if I can’t decipher the paragraph you wrote.

7. Enjoy the Roleplay!:
Have fun with this! Pokemon Mystery Dungeon was one of my favorite games of all time, definitely the best Pokemon game I’ve ever played. It had an expansive storyline and characters I really cared about. I want the same feeling here as well. I took a topic that was relatively well known and received and expanded upon it, throwing my own twists and turns in it. I think it’s good enough for the rest of you to enjoy. I hope you feel the same way.

This includes Setting, Story Arc, Character Rules and Skeletons, Roleplay Rules, anything at all. Also, if you have an idea that you feel is a very good one that will help add interest to the roleplay, share it with me. Again, you can set up your own character arcs within the major arc of the roleplay. We aren’t necessarily building a one-set direction of story so much as we are building a community much like the Multiverse. No question is too stupid. If you’re not a Pokemon fan, give it a chance.
