Balance.

Balance is the necessary force of life. It is why the rain falls sometimes, why the wind picks up occasionally, why the sun goes down and plunges the planets into darkness for a time before returning to cast light once more. It is why we must have good and evil. That’s right. I said evil. Evil is necessary for life to go on.

What would happen if one side of the equation was removed? We lose the rain that falls, leaving the planet a scorched desert. We lose the wind that blows, making it to where no plant life can move around and thus no plant life will grow. The sun goes out and the planets get too cold, freezing over. The sun stays out and the planet becomes a blaze unquenchable by the strongest tsunami. Without evil, good cannot exist to fight it. Therefore, evil is as necessary as good is to the balance of the world.

But how much evil is too much evil? How much would it take to overthrow the balance of the world?

A strong surge is evil has come…strong enough to destroy the balance holding the world together. Through their own actions, desires, and goals, they will destroy the planet whether that is their intention or not. They must be stopped at all costs.
Luckily, good exists. And just like a strong evil arrived, a strong good has come to combat it…to protect the balance…to protect the world.

Kana

Image

Kana is the obedient one of the group. Her docile nature allows her to be very knowledgeable of what needs to be done and how it should be done. However, she knows when rules are meant to be broken and when it’s time to have fun. She is a quick thinker and relatively fast on her feet. With just the right amount of sass to make her a powerful speaker and timidity to approach a situation cautiously, she is considered to be the natural born leader of the group.

Huo

Image

Huo is the playful one of the group. His impish nature allows for him to be impulsive and free-spirited under his own control. Should someone else stand up to him, he is obedient and loyal and would follow them to the end. Often considered the more resilient one of the group, he had just the right amount of weird and jolliness within him to be a strong fighter and an even greater companion.

Neon

Image

Neon is the calm one of the group. Rather than taking a direct combat approach, he will find another way to defuse a situation first, trying to avoid the fight. With this calm nature, he is quite obedient and very resilient. His timidity will have him approach a situation with more caution than the others. but He prefers a relaxed life. With a little bit of weirdness and sassiness, Neon will be a powerful tool in the group.

So where are they now?

They are asleep on a beach, unaware of their epic journey ahead of them…unaware of their role in this world. They will wake up with no recollection of the past, no knowledge of who anyone else is…just who they are, what they were, and what they are now. Through their interactions, they will find a solution to the problems of the world. They will restore the balance of the world.

They will save the world.

A tugging sensation slowly awakened his sleeping mind into a state of unconscious awareness. Someone, or something was pulling him. Then when it seemed like his body had been pulled enough towards one direction he was then pushed backwards against the uncomfortable bottom. The cycle repeated itself several times before he felt the curtains of his eyes lifted.

An unfamiliar blue sky stared at him. There were white clouds and nothing suspicious about the sun rays that outlined the silhouettes of creatures in the sky. There was only one sky. It should not look different anywhere else. The unfamiliarity came from the distance of it. Had the sky always been so large? His perspective seemed a little distorted, a little bit too clear for his eyes. Neon had little time to think about this when he felt that tugging sensation once more. Cold natural hands grasped at his legs and dragged him towards it; he kicked and he became aware of the droplets of wetness that hit his face. Water.

Pushing himself to a sitting position he found himself staring out towards a vast blue sea. His ‘hands’ became aware of the grainy pieces of sand and the tips of rock underneath him. The air of salt and water met his nose and he felt himself take a long deep breathe, cleansing his own body of its dust. His mind felt clearer but there was another mystery to his perhaps, one too many of his senses. There was a freshness about the sea that he had not felt before. It came from the top of his head breezing down towards his head making him feel strangely at ease. It was a trivial observation but it made him feel happy for a brief moment.

Rising to his ‘feet’, he suddenly felt unstable. It did not feel ‘right’, which seemed unnatural. He had always stood on his own feet-or so he believed. He wracked the back of his head for a reason why as he slowly lowered himself back on to the ground. His dark eyes lazily found its way to his ‘feet’. Were they always like that-these bright blue paws with three toes? No they were not. His brain told him, ‘you are human’ and with a slowbro’s realization he sighed.

How had this happened? Was this all a dream? The male was not sure of himself.

Neon, that was his name. He knew that quite well; he was one hundred percent certain, absolutely positive. He also knew that he was not in the correct body but everything else was nonexistent. His memories failed him as they only brought him empty space and the memories of waking up on this warm beach. Absently, he turned a circle in his spot of half water and half sand feeling every spiny piece of sand beneath his ‘fingers’, he curled them and uncurled them thinking that perhaps some plausible answer would come to him upon doing the ritual several times. With no success he turned to the land, where he saw two pokemon sleeping in the sand. Normally he believed that pokemon did not sleep on the sand looking half past out so he quietly hoped that perhaps they were in the same confusing situation as he was or he was the only one and would make a complete idiot of himself for asking.

Taking a step forward so that he was now completely out of the water he found himself recognizing such pokemon figures. One was an eevee, a brown furred fox creature and the other was a houndour, a black and orange hound creature.

About a hundred yards away, lay another unconscious Pokemon.

Totes

Image

Totes is the happy-go-lucky one of the group. His happiness in general can bring even the lowest spirits up. He's the most quippy and lippy Pokemon there is. He's not afraid to rush in, do his duty, and rush out...all while doing a little jig in the air! His naive nature gives him his optimism as he doesn't see the world in such a realist way. With a little bit of fun and a lot of joy, he is a great companion to be accompanied by!

He looks to be about as unconscious as the rest of the group, appearing in almost a similar manner.

Water. A cool, refreshing slickness on his skin that easily engulfs his body. Salt on his lips and a slight pressure all around him, pushing him around easily until, finally, the pressure is no longer enough to move him and instead he feels grains of sand along his back. He could have sworn he was wearing a shirt last he remembered...

With the water away from him now, slowly, he blinks open his eyes, allowing him to adjust to the harsh sunlight. Slowly moving his arms, which feel strangely light now, he pushes himself further onto shore. The waves lap at his feet as the rest of his body lays on the sand. Sea foam tickles his toes and he giggles, rolling over onto his belly and picking his feet up. Something feels strange, although he isn't exactly sure what. He attempts to place his hands behind his head and that's when he knows what's different. Placing his hands in front of him, his large eyes focus on the new scales that cover his body. He's a Pokemon! A Totodile, in fact!

A bubble of excitement flutters around his chest as he pushes himself to his feet, waving his arms happily as he takes the first look around him at his surroundings. He sees an Eevee and Houndour still laying unconscious on the shore, but a short distance from him he can see a Mudkip standing unsteadily on two feet. How curious...

Where these others like him, human turned Pokemon? Or were they Pokemon who had been knocked unconscious for whatever reason and landed on shore with him? He ventured closer to the Mudkip, dancing lightly on his toes all the way. He lowered his head to the ground in order to look up at the Mudkip with his large, red eyes.

"Hello? Ah, I'm Totes. And you are?" He's surprised by the words coming out of his mouth intelligible to him at least, but he thought Totodile could only say their name. What was he saying? Was it words like his human mouth produced what felt like once upon a time, or something else now?

Neon was mistaken into thinking that he was the only one that was currently awake, as he heard a stranger’s voice. Turning towards the voice he found a reptilian pokemon introducing himself. He was, what Neon believed to be a totodile. The two legged blue long nosed creature seemed much larger than he thought, although it might be due to the fact that he was forced to stand on all fours and his perspective at the current moment was not all bird’s eye view.

It came as a surprise to him, not just the size of the pokemon but the introduction. The mudkip could actually understand the other water type pokemon. Everything seemed to be interpreted as if he was still speaking the human language. Was this why pokemon never had any difficulty communicating with other races? If that was so, why could they not speak the human language?A short silence passed while Neon took the time to comprehend the discovery of language and his new acquaintance.

Since this other pokemon, Totes, had chosen to speak to him, the pokemon automatically assumed that perhaps it had something to do with the amnesiac-swept-away-‘what-am-I-doing’ symptom. Yes,he deducted that seeing as there were no other individuals on this beach other than them at the moment.

Realizing that the other ‘once-human’ was still waiting a response from him he opened his mouth; he half expected to speak like normal and the other half, to speak his name by going ‘mudkip!mudkip!’ as he was still not sure what to expect of the situation.

Neon,” the name came out naturally-much to his relief. “Totes right? I assume you were also found on this beach unable to recall anything other than your name right?” his words came out a little softer as he adjusted his voice so that he might not rudely wake up the two still passed out on the beach.

Cold.
A dampness surrounded her, it made her feel very heavy. Kana fought to open her eyes, the harsh sea air clung to her, willing her to keep them shut for fear of the burning that would undoubtedly follow. Fighting that urge she slowly pried them open and took a quick look around. It appeared to her that she wasn't alone. There were three other figures here. Kana stood slowly, her fur matted and wet. A soft sound of disgust and slight woe at her state of being escaped her lips. A whimper of pure emotion.

Her bronze eyes easily found their way over to the two others conversing. 'Perhaps they know each other, best to not interrupt.' She reasoned. Stretching out her legs and shaking dry the best she could she noticed that one of her fellows was still unconscious. Walking toward the prone form, Kana nudged it gently with her nose and then waited a moment. 'He's really out.' The next step was to try and ascertain the current situation. She figured they had been lost at sea, perhaps they were comrades? No. She didn't remember them, she didn't remember anything really. Except a flash of light and now this. Her head was pounding. 'Maybe I should tone down the thinking until my head settles.'

Reasoning with herself quickly she knew she'd never make it on her own. Kana began cautiously and quietly approaching the two talking. They were talking in hushed tones, considerate. Although it was more difficult for Kana to make it out that way. Once she got right behind the one she overheard being called Neon, her voice spoke softly. Although it was dry, raspy almost. Most likely a result of the salt water.

"Pardon me, do either of you have any ideas as to why we're here. Sorry to interrupt." She said making her way to be slightly closer and at a better angle to speak to them both. She felt a little anxious talking to them. She became uneasy with worry that she wasn't meant to talk to them. Interrupting was very rude after all. Kana hated being a nuisance.

Drowning. Huo was drowning.

He paddled, feeling somewhat unnatural, un-human. He didn't stop to ponder it, though; the feeling that he was certainly going to die was too intense. As he surfaced, he saw faces he know being ripped and pummeled by waves, familiar sounds drowned out by the pounding of the-

Headache.

Huo woke with a pounding headache, made only worse by the painful dryness of his mouth and sand in his fur. Wait, fur? Huo leapt up, shaking the sand out of his newly-discovered fur. He saw shimmering liquid, and quickly crawled over to take a drink. No sooner had his tongue touched the water than he gagged, coughing up salty water that burned. He quickly lay back down, closing his lids against the blaring sun.

Huo tried to gain a foothold in his blank mind. No memories, except his name. He was once a human, he registered. What was he now? Peeking down at black, sandy paws and then up to the ocean where a distorted hound stared back at him, Huo pieced together his new identity. A Houndour. A fire and dark type. He smiled at this new information and tried to figure out what he knew- as a Pokemon, this time. After a couple of failed bites with no power, and many embarrassing escapes from the waves that were now so much more daunting, he noticed a group down the beach a bit.

Among them was a blue crocodile- A Totodile, he somehow knew. The other two were no less unfamiliar- an Eevee and a Mudkip. With no idea how he knew the names of these Pokemon, Huo staggered over with a hint of drunkenness in his gait. He stopped a few feet away awkwardly, distracted by a flash of red movement and pouncing. He missed the little crab- a Krabby- by a mile, and his weird, uncoordinated dog feet sprawled in all directions. Landing in the sand, Huo snorted sand out of his nose and righted himself. The Krabby loomed over him with surprising anger and very, very sharp pincers.

Huo yipped a little at the sight of the murderous crab- who wouldn't?- and scrambled backwards over still-uncoordinated paws. He tried to summon a super helpful Flamethrower or something, and succeeded in sending a small Ember towards the Krabby, where it fizzled against the hard, wet shell. Flailing backwards as bubbles shot towards him with the ferocity of cannonballs, Huo ran. He started digging a hole- at least his new paws weren't entirely useless- and ducked into it as the Krabby came hurtling by with pincers snapping. Huo leapt up and grabbed the back of its shell in his mouth, flinging the crab out to sea and running to join the rest of the group.

He'd be a good dog for now, hopefully without a bounty on his head. He now officially disliked crabs. "Hey guys, did I miss roll call? Or breakfast? Cause I'm starving." Huo almost grimaced at the words that bubbled out of his mouth. At least he had his old wit and charm- that is to say, none. He'd probably interrupted whatever they'd been saying, too. Great.

As the four looked around their surroundings, it was clear that none of them knew where they were. The beach was standard, white and dune-like with the occasional red glint of a Krabby as it scuttled between the dunes. A few larger jagged rocked stood out of the sand occasionally as the beach continued. The water sparkled from the glint of the late morning sun, but the sea itself was a deep and rich blue. The tide was medium, a bit of foam forming in the sea as waves rolled their way onto land and crashed with a rhythmic whoosh! The scene was...tranquil...almost peaceful entirely.

Looking to the right and left, the beach continued onward, both sides appearing to round a bend as the sand met the sky blue horizon. Turning around, there lay a wall...scratch that, a cliff. A steep and jagged cliff. The cliff face stretched upward for about fifty yards or so. Slight tuffs of green grass could be seen above them at the cliff's edge, but what did the rest of that look like? Well, there was no way to tell from there, the interface is too smooth and steep to simply climb up. Time for plan B.

(OOC: Alright guys, it's decision time! The way these will work is I'll give you a list of options to pick from. You must ALL vote on which option you pick in character. The one with the most votes is the decision you've made collectively. If a tie emerges, let's say 2 to 2, then you end up splitting up, the pairs forming from the voters who made the decision. However, while splitting up seems like the best possible option to get the most intel out of it, you're only facing those challenges with two Pokemon rather than four, so expect the game to change, probably for the more challenging, should you approach the situation with two rather than four. I mean, strength in numbers, right? Or maybe I'll let you make that decision. But whatever you choose, know it will impact what you know, what you don't know, what you encounter, and what you DON'T encounter for the future...and that could be a good thing or a bad thing...NO PRESSURE!)

A) The group could walk along the beach to the left, but who knows what they may come across. It might be the only way to gain knowledge to their situation as to where they are and why they are there. Maybe there's a way up the cliff waiting to be discovered. Or maybe they can follow the beach until they find...anything really. However, there is no telling what kind of dangers come with the decision. They could run into a wild pack of Krabbys who are looking for some nice Houndour meat to snip their pincers into. Or maybe they'll hit a dead end, coming to the simple result that they are trapped on a beach with no food and no drinkable water with no way out of the situation...phew, that thought is terrifying. But, it's better to find out than to sit here and do nothing, right?

B) Maybe the right choice is...well, right. Take the beach to the right and see where it leads. However, the same risks and rewards are accompanied as if they went left. The only variable is the direction.

C) Or, if they want, they COULD stay here. This beach is a nice soothing place...calming to the jumpiest of Pokemon. I mean they did wake up here to the sound of waves, not the sound of explosions. It can't be all that bad. Perhaps help will come to rescue them! Perhaps a hidden door will open up in the cliff, revealing an exit path to the cliff edge above. Or perhaps nothing will happen at all. But they're in paradise! What a nice place to just sit around and enjoy their company.

So...what'll it be? Take the left beach front, take the right beach front, or just stay there?

Oh! He hadn't noticed the others waking while his attention had been focused on the little Mudkip who called himself Neon. More excitement bubbled within his little chest as he looked around at the new arrivals, specifically the Eevee who had posed a question that he felt he needed to answer, even if he had no answer.

Shaking his large, blue-scaled head, he inclined it slightly once done in order to meet the Eevee's eyes. He wasn't too fond of the blind spot straight ahead of him, but he was, very slowly, reminding himself to adjust and work around it. "Nope. No clue." He attempted to shrug his shoulders, but couldn't really manage the gesture with his new anatomy.

He looked around once more, checking to see if he missed any other Pokemon on the shore, hopping from one foot to another as he did so. He turned to the Houndour after, thinking of his words as his feet continued moving. "So am I. I wonder if there's anything good to eat around?"

His eyes flickered over the shoreline once more, momentarily landing on the cliff behind them but glancing over the tall obstacle without a second thought. "Maybe that way?" A slight incline of his jaw towards the right, for no particular reason at all other than it happened to be the direction he was currently facing. He turned back to the others, always energetic and chipper, loathe to leave his newfound friends to venture out alone. He would follow their lead, but he really did hate staying anywhere for too long.

As the waves rolled on, another form washed up on the beach...

Ember

Image

Ember is considered to be the quirky one of the group. Quite the untraditional thinker, Ember is innovative in finding solutions to problems. She is relatively comical and sassy in behavior and likes to enjoy herself. With a brave soul and a very tough outer shell, Ember is a naturally good fighter.

Huo sniffed the air. No scent of food, just salt and the faint smells of the other Pokemon. It was times like these he wished that he could fly- and by times like these, he was really just thinking about the past couple minutes. It wasn't even like he was the cutest or anything. Maybe the dumbest. He already had nearly gotten his tail pinched off.

When the Totodile mentioned food, Huo perked up. He loved food. Looking towards the right as well, he shrugged. "We probably should get moving, there's no food or fresh water on the beach." And wherever we go, hopefully it doesn't have those mean Krabbys. Crabby Krabbys. Ha.

Bounding around, Huo sniffed at the sand for anything useful. All he got was a nose of sand and some sandy fur. He still was in a bit of denial about the whole fact that he was a Pokemon. What if this was just a twisted dream? No, his sand-filled nose hurt too much for it to be a dream. That meant he really was a Pokemon, on a beach, with no fresh water. And NO FOOD! He really couldn't function when hungry, and standing around wouldn't do them any good. He stared out into the water, hating to get wet but if they weren't going to get moving soon, he'd have to test his skills in fishing.

Were fish Pokemon even edible? He hoped so. Glancing back at the group, he noticed the Mudkip talking with the Eevee. Neon and Kana, he thought he heard them say. Frowning, Huo's stomach grumbled. He really needed to eat, but with the fish-looking Mudkip, he didn't want to offend him. Starvation, his gravestone would say.

Huo also needed some sleep. Funny, because wasn't he just unconscious? Somehow, the fire hound was already tired again. Maybe it was the Krabby... Huo stumbled back to the group, hoping he didn't fall asleep before he could get some good food. The sand was looking pretty comfy, though...

Neon looked into the direction the totodile pointed to. He then looked to the opposite end. Both ends looked the same. Filled with a long road of empty sand other than the few crab pokemon that scuttled about, clearly not looking too friendly to see them washed up on ‘their’ beach most likely. It would not hurt to travel in this large group in one direction. There was no point in staying here anyways.

Let’s just go that way then. Now that everyone is awake,” he stated noticing the stumbling hound walking towards them like a drunken sailor. “Once more, my name is Neon.” The mudkip reintroduced himself to the fox pokemon and the hound. Flashing a lazy smile before going back to his original bored serene expressions.

The water type pokemon started heading into the direction the totodile had pointed in. Honestly, for the situation he was in, he did not feel extremely scared. There were people that was just like him, although even if he was by himself he still might have felt fine about it. He has no memory, no home, no nothing. A blank slate waiting to be filled, a canvas ready to painted on by the colors of the world; his thoughts did not seem strange to him, in fact he felt right at home with these poetic thoughts. Perhaps he was an artist, painter or a poet in his previous life.

Coming?” he looked back to their mismatched troupe of people-no ‘pokemon’.

He hadn't expected the others to follow his haphazard decision, but it felt good that others listened to and agreed with him. He grinned, which probably would have looked much more menacing if it wasn't for his large, playful eyes. Despite knowing next to nothing about the others, and barely more about himself, he found himself trusting the others as they were all in the same situation. Each one had washed up to shore, somehow bound together in their shared experience.

Totes hopped from foot to foot again, nodding his large head as he bounded over to walk besides the Mudkip. The shore looked the same on both ends and the stretch of land before them to the right looked the same as the piece they has washed up on. The Totodile was careful to avoid the Krabby that scuttled around the beach unless the Pokemon decided to try and pinch his tail. He had a feeling that his tail would be sensitive, and he didn't want to test out that theory.

As he walked ahead, turning his head slightly to look at the indents his feet made in the sand, he decided to cast a quick glance backwards to look at the others, moving back to them while hoping lightly on his feet and then going back to Neon once more. He repeated this motion a couple of times before continuing down the beach, eager to get moving.

Huo followed the Totodile and Mudkip. Totes and Neon. He ran the names over and over in his head, making an effort not to forget them. His paws made indentions in the sand, an odd feeling; as Huo was accustomed to walking on two feet.

Lolling his tongue out, he suddenly realized he'd never introduced himself. Bounding up to the blue pair, he offered a joyful smile and joined them at the shoulder. "I'm Huo, by the way. Totes and Neon, right? Pleasure to travel with you fine gentlemen." Hoping he wasn't being too peppy and annoying, Huo quieted down and walked with them, losing himself in his own thoughts.

Neon seemed more of the quiet, pondering type- a silence that made Huo uneasy. Did the Mudkip dislike him? Was he too hyper? Huo hoped not. He didn't want to gain enemies of the Pokemon in his same dilemma. Totes seened friendly enough, in his opinion. Maybe it was just the playful eyes and general adaptation to the other in his group. The Houndour definitely didn't want to get on the bad side of those scary jaws, however.

Huo was glad someone was leading. Normally, he'd take charge as soon as he could and figure out how to best lead his group, but the other Pokemon seemed like natural leaders and had somehow subconsciously taken charge. He wasn't quite sure who it was yet.

(OOC: Sorry Alliqua and Pika. I'm moving on! I've given you plenty of time to post but we can't stay on this beach all day. Thanks for understanding!)

The group made the decision to follow the beach down on the right hand side and see where it leads due to suggestion from Totes. It appeared that Totes had "suggestively" made the first decision, the front runner of the posse as they trekked down. Huo and Neon stayed not too far behind so as to make some idle chat. Kana remained silent and shy; Ember woke up without anyone's notice and took the rear with Kana.

The scenery never changed. The same white sand which was growing warmer with each passing minute as the sun rose higher and higher. The occasional jagged obtrusion from the sand, some big enough to hide a Charizard behind. The cliff stayed constant as well with no clear way to climb up. At least it wasn't blocking the breeze coming in from the ocean, a cool steady energy whipping past the group's existence and bringing relief from the constant rays of the sun. It was quite pleasant.

The group came across a small pool of water lay by the bottom of the cliff's wall interface. This water didn't appear to come from the sea, evident by the slow stream of water trickling down the top of the cliff in a long unbroken line. The water seemed fresh, not salty. It was also practically undisturbed, allowing for a reflective surface to form easily on top. For the first time, they would be able to see their clear faces should they stop by the puddle.

A little beyond that, the beach seemed to round around, hiding some of the beach behind the cliff. Rounding it, the group discovered a rocky path, originating at the base of the cliff and continuing upward in a slant motion to the top. While it wasn't very steep, it was narrow and looked a little sketchy. Should they choose to climb to the top, they would have to follow it up single file and watch their step. But it looked like it could be done with ease.

The beach continued onward, the cliff to the left looking like it was getting smaller. Instead of risking it, they could play it safe and continue to follow the beach to wherever it may go. However, it would take longer as it seemed like the path was the quickest way up to the top.

They chose to...

A) Climb the Path.
B) Follow the Beach.

Neon did not think too much about his companions. Considering they all had amnesia, he would find out with time how they felt and their personalities as such. So far his initial impression was that Totes, the little blue crocodile was a cheery one. He looked like he was holding back some of his energy from his point of view-it might have also been the uneasiness with the form they had all taken- at least he still walked on two legs. He gave off a glow of invisible energy. The kind that might explode in sunshine at something good.It was not a bad trait. Sure, the mudkip preferred a less agitated companion he was sure they would be quite nice and civil together.

Huo, the houndour seemed a bit hesitant towards him. Perhaps he was expecting someone to be freaking out over the transformation, although all of them were pretty calm considering the situation. No point in crying over spilled milk, as the saying went. He was a bit happy that they were all mature enough to continue move forward. The rest of his companions had barely said a word so it was difficult to determine how they were dealing with their trip through the island.

Relief came through him as the scenery began to change; there was only a bit of worry that the whole island was just a giant slate with lots of rocks and sand dunes. A strange sensation came upon his fin on his head. This water was different. Like flowers they felt ‘prettier’ giving off a pleasant and fairy like tingliness to his body. Out of pure curiosity he approached the pond of water made by the tip of the teapot cliff.

His original purpose slid away when he saw the reflection presented to him by the natural mirror; an unfamiliar figure looked at him. Chubby blue cheeks with bright orange whiskers stuck out of the sides of his face puffed out. A long neutral line opened revealing a relatively large pink tongue and the hollow cavern of his mouth. As if testing the waters, he reached out with his poking finger, watching magically as the pokemon staring at him mimicked his actions. The ripple of water washed away the image only briefly. This was him now.

Out of inquisitive defiance he sat on his bum, his tail fin sticking out uncomfortably; then with his two paws he scooped up as much of the water as he could, watching as the water tumbled out of the failed cup shape made with his paws. He tried it again, ignoring his stiff tail. This time he was able to grasp a bit of water, from there he brought his paws to his rather rotund face and drank the water. Eyes widening at the clear stream of fluid going down his throat a thought came to his mind, delicious. It was as if he had not drank ‘water’ before, was it his pokemon senses kicking in?

The mudkip’s beady eyes wandered up the slow stream of water coming from the lid of the cliff. Was this not just regular water? Conceivably someone might be filtering this water adding some sort of ingredient to make it seem so fresh. Getting back to all fours he noticed a small path leading up the cliff.

Can we go up here?” he pointed to the pathway to his comrades.

Kana remained silent as Totes and Neon took charge. She figured she could've led them fairly well. However she was too busy running scenarios in her head that she got lost in her own labyrinth of thought. Kana dutifully kept pace as they made their way around to another choice in the road. Kana's golden-orange eyes focused on the path ahead. Almost missing everything that Neon was saying. She cautiously approached the front of the group to get a better look around. She sniffed the air delicately and then turned back at Neon.
"I'm rather tired of this sand between my paws, that pathway appears to be the best option wouldn't you say?"

She smiled and tilted her head slightly. In a showing of warmth and also an underlying challenge to correct her. She was rather wary of her teammates. Was it simply coincidence that they all washed up together? Why were Neon and Totes so chummy at the very beginning? Did they remember something Kana didn't? There were so many questions bubbling into her head at once. Then she snapped back into reality, her eyes quickly trained onto Huo. He was rather different wasn't he. Although he seemed like he was the most out of it of all of them. Hunger was driving him. Stepping away from the group and searching the nearby bushes Kana found some blueberry-like fruit. Holding the branch in her mouth she went over to Huo and dropped them in front of him with a sweet smile.
"Huo, right? Berries for you, I couldn't help but notice you seemed hungry. Oh! I'm Kana by the way." She sat down in front of him and waited patiently. She figured they'd all make a choice soon so there was no point to waste energy.

Totes hardly gave their situation a second thought as they walked on, instead enjoying the scenery and shapes that the random stones and crags made on their journey. He noticed the stream and the pool right away, excited to bound up to the new source of water and stare at his new face. True to his cheerful nature, he smiled wide as his clear reflection stared back at him, then began making silly faces as he played with his new features. Once he felt the laugh bubble up in his belly, he stuck his head into the pool, looking underwater for anything interesting that might be hiding there. After a quick look, he raised his head slightly so only his large jaw was in the water and drank deeply, suddenly realizing his thirst.

Totes loathed to leave the comfort of the water behind. Being a water Pokemon, he obviously felt a connection to the water, but he had the sense to know they couldn't stay on the beach forever, and even if he hadn't, the incessant growling of his stomach was growing louder. He looked over to the branch Kana had placed in front of Huo with jealous eyes, but he had just enough restraint to resist snatching a couple of berries from him. He turned back to the path leading up the cliff face, curious as to what might be awaiting them at the end. He didn't want to leave the water, or their newfound pool where he could splash and play to his heart's content, but with only some berries around, he knew he should. He wasn't much of a leader anyway, more than happy to follow someone else along and go with the flow.

"Up there sounds good," He said flippantly, as if he didn't care one way or another as he dipped a clawed foot into the pool.

Collectively, the group decided to take the pathway up to see what was on top of the cliff. But who knows what lies above the beach. They didn't even know if the path leading upwards was safe enough to travel. Maybe that path was used so much and that was why it looked worn. Maybe that path wasn't used because it wasn't safe and another safer path would've been found later. But it was too late to look back on that now.

Approaching the cliff, Totes went first since he was the first to arrive on the scene. Second was Neon, right behind Totes. Following Neon was Kana, then Huo. Ember stayed in the back, not speaking as of yet. They shimmied along the path, single file. It turned out that although the path looked weathered and beaten, it was sturdy and safe. The path was narrow, so they'd have to watch their step as they navigated. But they could easily make it up the cliff interface.

As they rose higher and higher, the sand grew farther and farther away. The wind began to pick up a bit, but it was still pleasant. The sun's rays reflecting off the water gave a glittering effect to anyone who chose to look out onto the ocean. It was enchanting, to say the least.

As for the berries, Huo presumably ate some and found that only two filled him up. Such a strange feeling to have eaten so little and be so full and healthy. These berries they carried must be special. On the bushel, there were still twelve berries, enough for everyone in the group to have two and have four left over. How they would divide the berries up was for them to decide, but that was for a bit later. Right now, they needed to climb this cliff and see what was above.

ImageEmber had gotten lost from her previous path, She was looking for the berries to cure her hungry and when she fell from a high tree branch she had injured her paw and she was stuck, Ember was also very smart too, using some twigs and a leaf she had fixed her paw only a little bit just so she could walk, but she would still be limping, even though she had cured that she was still hungry so that didn't change, "F-Fennekin.." she whimpered looking up in the sky she allowed the sun to rain down on her, "That feels nice..." Ember spoke and sat down on the ground, after a few minutes she was back on foot, but the thing is she picked up some smells from other Pokémon, sniffing the ground she said, "A Mudkip..A Eevee...A Totodile, and A Houndour!" Ember was shocked and she began to track the pokemon down, like hell she would miss this chance, She had followed behind the group once she had caught up to them, she made sure to keep quite and keep her stomach in tact, she had smelled berries and that made her stomach act up even more..

"Such Cumbersome!" Ember said sighing, She then noticed how the path was going up and up and up, she was starting to get a bit more curios.
