Introduction
Pokemon, even non-legendary ones, wield immense power. With the conscious ability to control elements and natural phenomena, they inevitably shaped the world into one of extremes. Hostile deserts stretched across the horizon fed into stormy seas. Overgrown forests tapered into icy mountain ranges. There were constant volcanoes, tidal waves, earthquakes, and areas permanently covered in darkness. A human standing from a vantage point would see familiar geological and meteorological phenomena, but in an alien, inhospitable world.
The human habitable area occupied only a narrow band near the equator, where the power exerted by pokemon tended to reach an equilibrium.
However, humans had one thing pokemons did not: technology. Those first brave pioneers who ventured out managed to tame the pokemon, and in doing so, harnessed power. The ubiquitous mass-produced red and white pokeball is a descendant of these hundreds of years of tradition and technological perfection.
In this symbiotic relationship, Pokemon and Humans flourished--the former, with the humans' methodological training, were able to perceive the full potential of their power, and the latter, with the taming of the former, were able to expand their species throughout the globe, from the equatorial savannas to the polar tundras. Earth turned into a veritable paradise. Weather stabilized, and her temperate seasons became the spring, summer, fall, and winter as we know it today.
However, with this symbiosis, the prospect of global destruction became a reality. When internal strife wracked the world of pokemon, battles amongst each other ensured equilibrium. Humans were then too sparse and spread out to make any difference. But under the humans, there was unity, and also power. And where there are both, there was greed and ambition. A sufficient amount of magnetons could permanently disrupt the Earth's magnetic field. Enough rock type or ground pokemon could destroy a continent. Even individually, each pokemon was a deadly weapon contained in a pocket device that fit within a palm. The world was on the brink of warfare and imminent collapse.
In response to this, the Pokemon League, a global organization, was formed. It was decided that the ever present availability of pokemon made control of them impractical, and no one seriously entertained the costly and bloody idea of eliminating all the world's pokemon. How would one fight nature? Instead, it was decided that if one could not control the power, one could control how people treated power.
Thus, the Trainer was born.
The legend of the League Champion was created. Children from an early age were given pokemon, and were indoctrinated into battle. These had very specific rules. Lethal moves were prohibited, as well attacking other trainers, and in order to foster a taboo on killing, attacking other pokemon while unconscious was strictly forbidden. The penalty was a lifetime expulsion from the League.
The children were indoctrinated from an early age to look up to the glory of the League Champion. Even to be part of the organization of Elites was an honor. Thus, the tendency for violence was controlled--for they wanted glory too much too risk it all for petty outbursts. This went on for several decades. And once, more, as with the taming of the pokemon, there was stability and peace.
However, there grew a sect of Trainers, not wishing to be bound by the League rules. Called Team Omega, they are rumored to contain numerous grassroots and Elite trainers, as well as a few in positions of high power within the League. Their goal is to free man and pokemon from their artificial hierarchy. Many look back to the days of the early symbiosis--where humans and pokemons realized new avenues of power. And there is no telling what they may do to break the hegemony of the League.

Factions
The Pokemon League: The dominant force across the majority of the world's human habitable areas. Through absolute control over nearly all matters of civil and military life, the League has brought peace and stability to the world.
Team Omega: A conglomeration of organizations with varying ideologies. Some detest the loss of individual freedom, some fugitives who have violated League rules, some longing for pre-League times during the first symbiosis. Others are merely power-hungry. However, all of them have one thing in common-- they are enemies of the League. Their numbers are clandestine and except for a notorious few, locations unknown.
Trainers: Those who are neither League nor Omega. However, they cannot remain neutral for long, and will inevitable be caught in the maelstrom of conflict between forces larger than they are.
Other: Scientists. Doctors. Breeders. Artists. Vagrants. You name them.

"Lahjik here. Go ahead."
"Lahjik, report. What did you find?"
"I found a trainer out in the woods. Looks like he'd had a run in with a group of Lairon and Aggron. His Blaziken had a broken leg, so I escorted him to the local Pokemon Center and the hotel. I'm there now. Bunch of other trainers are here, too."
"Understood. Any of them with the 'Megs?"
"Not from what I've seen." Tekno stated. "All unaffiliated, though I'll keep an eye out. I should be reporting back soon."
"Negative." The voice came to him over the Gear's phone. "We're getting a spike in atmospheric conditions, and detecting an anomaly in the general area."
"Thunderbird?" Tekno mused, utilizing the code name his team had agreed on for the plausible source of the disturbances. This hadn't been the first time there had been a spike in storm activity.
"Probable, but unknown. For now, best to remain where you are." The voice stated. "We'll contact you if we get any update."
"Acknowledged, same here." Tekno nodded, even though he knew the connection was voice only. "Lahjik out." With that, he terminated the connection before sitting back and stroking Eva's fur while she curled up in his lap, eyes closed. "...Well, baby, looks like we're staying indoors for the time being."

After about a half-hour of regenerative process, the nurse returned, Pokéball in hand. As she approached the boy to return it to him, a faint electronic ping was heard, the encapsulated Zoroark springing forth from its confines, causing the girl to gasp and drop the now-empty ball, which hit the ground with a soft metallic clang. The Pokémon shook a little to rustle its fur and stalked over to join his comrades, seemingly muttering something. Yosuke rose and strode over to the ball, picking it up as the nurse collected herself. He uttered a thanks to her, before pocketing the ball and turning away. He shot a glance to the female trainer that had followed him in; she seemed to be asleep. He shrugged, and made his way towards the exit.
Right outside of the building were a few trainers, gripped in the heat of battle. He looked at them in utter disdain, turning and walking off in the other direction.

"Alright Zane, use Sunny Day!" The Zangoose glowed orange, then the sun began to heat things up, now making fire-type moves more powerful and water-type moves weaker.
"Now, Zane," Leira commands, "use Shock Wave on that Metagross!"
Zane now lets out the never-missing Shock Wave, hitting the Metagross.

"Now, let's hit this up with a grande assault, shall we, Nocturne?"
The Seismitoad nodded in agreement, then unleashed a rather devastating assault of attacks. Muddy Water rose from the ground again, coupled by another Drain Punch connecting with the Metagross once again. This recovered its energy from where it had been clipped earlier, as well as the purpose of the water dispelling the smog.
"Let's see if we can't change this weather to suit our needs, hm? Rain Dance, Nocturne. Let's have us gain an advantage."
This was immediately done, increasing the power and flow of his Water-type assaults, as well as causing a nice rain to fall instead of that bright sun.
"Now, let's hit one more time with Hydro Pump on that Flareon. Let's see if we can't remove the nuisance from the playing field."
A massive blast of water spurted from Nocturne's mouth, followed by a tad bit of its own strategy: a Hyper Voice, deafening those around it as well as restricting their balance thanks to the effect on the inner ear. The Flareon was directly in its path.

Blissey was on the sidelines, making terrified faces at all the attacks that happened during the battle.

Jack winced for a moment, and then called to the Flareon. It was immobilized by both sound and physic powers... So he needed to break eye contact with the Metagross and stop the Hydro-pump both. The balance issue wasn't big a threat as everything else. "Right, Sabre ignite! Lava Plume now!" Jack called, and Sabre knew exactly what Jack was thinking. Immediately a great plume of fire erupted from the Flareon's fur and impacted with the Hydro-pump, instantly vaporizing the water and throwing up a makeshift smoke/vapor screen. Sometime during the initial clash between the fire and water and severing the contact of the Metagross's physic, it rolled and avoided the rest of the Hydro-pump.
Inside the vaporized steam, the Lava plume was still activated engulfing the Flareon in a fiery film. Jack knew this was the time to strike. "Flareon, Take down the Seismatoad!" He called. Erupting from the steam, still alight, Flareon emerged from the screen and threw itself with reckless abandon at the Seismatoad. Sabre's equilibrium wasn't an issue due the recklessness of the Take Down. In an instant, Sabre impacted with the Seismatoad with great force, combined with the fact that it was on fire spelled trouble... For both of them.
Such high caliber attack choices and the short amount of time between each maneuver would leave the Flareon exhausted. The combination of Lave Plume and Take Down was just the topping on the cake. After the impact, the Flareon's Lava Plume would dissipate and leave it injured and exhausted. A simple ember may be the only thing the Flareon could manage afterward. The Zangoose would have to finish off the Metagross.
Win or lose, Jack was proud of Sabre. The pokemon put every ounce of heart and soul in each and every attack and left nothing back. Jack's concentrated visage allowed a small smile. He loved Sabre and the strength it showed. Whether it was enough or not, it should have been apparent to everyone that the Flareon had immense guile and pride.
Even Lightning on the stone steps held a cheerful smile. Sabre was doing what it loved, showing everyone how strong it was. Though... If it won, the Raichu would never hear the end of it.

This was entirely obeyed, down to the last direction, though the Seismitoad had one little thing left in mind, especially in its own right. After it recovered itself using Aqua Ring, it smashed into the Zangoose using Drain Punch, also helping to recover some of its injury from the use of Take Down. From there, it smashed into the Metagross using the same attack, thus recovering more of its health, then finally drenched them all beneath a veil of Muddy Water. Something seemed interesting to Nocturne, and before it utilized the grand finale, it sparked off a Hyper Voice and then a rather odd combination. A Double Team, mixed in with a Sludge Wave from the back, hopefully playing on the fact it may cause poisoning. You see, both Trainer and another Pokemon gave commands to Nocturne, blending two battle strategies together like a smoothie.
All this time, both Astraios and Loki were granting which moves should be used beforehand; Loki playing a defense and Astraios playing an offense. At least they formed an excellent combination, with Loki nearly unknown except to Psychic-types and their extremely in-tuned Trainers, and Astraios being the frontal, making the others think that Nocturne came up with these ideas on its own.

Sorence raised his hand. "I'm out. Metagross can't take anymore." Metagross gave a hateful look to Seismitoad for the damage given to it and stomped over to Blissey. The pokemon began to heal Metagross with Heal Pulse, emitting a small blue wave as Metagross was being healed.

Drain Punch was the only thing that really hurt Zane out of all those attacks, due to his weakness to Fighting-types. But Zane was still able to get up after all the assult, mainly due to his stubborn determination. "Okay, Zane," Leira commands, not really that worried about the Zangoose. She knew of his abiltities, and she knows he won't give up that easily. "hurry, use Sunny Day once more, and then use Solarbeam against that Seismitoad!"
The battlefield once again turns sunny, and immeditaly Zane charges the sunlight through is tail, then lets out the Solarbeam attack at the Seismitoad. Both Pokemon and Trainer knew that it would be very effective, for a Grass-type move against a Water/Ground Pokemon will be super effective.

This was obeyed directly by the Seismitoad, using its massive croaking voice to knock the Zangoose off-balance, then dampening the area with rain, increasing its speed thanks to its ability of Swift Swim. Afterwards, it smashed a Drain Punch into the Zangoose's arm, recovering a tad bit of its health before using another Hyper Voice to combo with Focus Blast, leaving only a small opening for any sort of attack. Though, if an attack were used, it probably wouldn't hurt it much, thanks to its incredulous amount of HP due to its EV and IV training.

"Sabre..." He said the Flareon's name softly. "That's enough, they can only take so much of you," He said, a proud smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "Come over here." He asked, moving around the area where the battle was raging to meet the Flareon. He paused for a moment and looked at the Seismatoad, who had put out both pokemon and was giving the Zangoose a hard time. A slight dislike welled in him for both trainer and pokemon. The Seismatoad again had used the Rainy day move, and feeling a little spiteful, Jack called to Flareon, "Come on, Sunny day. I don't like the Rain," He asked as he moved towards the Flareon. Sabre nodded and the rain clouds split and dissipated, leaving a sun, cutting the power of the Seismatoad's water power.
Jack cracked a smile, the pokemon should be slowed down and weakened in the sun. "Of course Sabre, I know you don't like the rain, either." He said, a smirk on his face. One that was recipricated by the injured Flareon. Sabre hobbled to Jack who had met him half-way and picked him up. He then carried him around the battlefield again and to the fellow's Blissey. He laid the pokemon gingerly down next to the Metagross, who Sabre nuzzled. A sign that the Flareon was impressed and took a fondness to the Metagross.
"That was pretty good," Jack told the man while extended a hand.

"You're just lucky that I didn't use my Blissey. Her HP and defense is so high, plus all the healing moves I gave her makes her invincible. She only really has one attack though, so she can't battle well."
He looked over to the battlefield where both remaining pokemon fought. Both have taken little damage, so the fight could go on for a long time. "What do you think of the other two out battling? The Zangoose is powerful, but the Seismitoad just won't go down... it is a scary match up for me."

She reached into her belt and took out a pokeball, her last two left. It was vivid in her mind, a small nick near the button which joined the two halves. She threw it at the skarmory. It missed.
She threw the other pokeball. It missed also.
Something went wrong, and in that universe, Sandy would never meet Skree, as the skarmory swiped Espirit with a metal wing, still lethal, as the eevee collapsed on the ground, unmoving, blood pooling around it.
The sky went black with thunder and lightning. Rain poured down, as the skarmory turned towards her, ready to attack.
Aeirelle! Aeirelle! Wake up!
Espirit's voice was insistent in her mind. She stood up at once at the familiar voice. Espirit was already on the ground, on all fours, at the ready. The sky was still sunny, and for all intents it was a picture of calm. The last of the battles had died down, all except for two trainers, a seismitoad and a zangoose still circling each other warily, looking quite exhausted.
The sky was devoid of pokemon however, and Sandy knew it was not the normal lull that followed before a storm.
True to the vision, the sky grew black as night. Thunder and lightning poured down. A bird appeared in the distance, sheathed in a dazzling array of electricity. Espirit's fur bristled and she hissed subvocally.
Something is wrong, she relayed. There is something other than Zapdos in here.

She has this one in the bag now. With Swords Dance, Zane's attack will rise, and Crush Claw is a attack move. Plus, Crush Claw has a 50/50 chance of lowering the oppenent's defense, which will make it easier to take them down.
Zane uses Sword Dance, raising his attack power, then charges at the Seimistoad with his speed, his right claw glowing white. He hits the Pokemon hard, then quickly gets out of range and attacks from behind, then the side, then the other side, then the front, and so on, not following a clear pattern, just popping up randomly.

The Magmorter shot at it with lava plume, but Zaptos just shot one Lighting Bolt that completly incinerated the pokemon. It no longer was there, but just gone. Satisfied with the distruction of the area, Zaptos flew off to the next.
It came up to a town that was filled with trainners. It ignored them, deciding they weren't worth its time, and flew over to a power plant near the city. It took its huge claws and sucked the force from the plant, dwindling the town's power to zero. It then went over to the Pokemon center and landed on top of it. It looked on to a battle that was happening at the moment. It hated battles between trainners, so it decided to intervene.
Zaptos bolted towards two Pokemon, the Flareon and Zangoose. Its lightning fast speed couldn't be matched, and it grabbed the two pokemon and flew off down the main road away from the city, to the forrest that it destroyed.
(Not the best, my brain is sort of dead today. If anyone else wants a try, they can.)

"...?!" Looking up, shocked, the young man hadn't quite expected a power outage to happen so suddenly, and he was immediately on his feet with Eva scooped up in his arms. Albaeia was known for its electrical storms, and he thought that the Pokemon Center was protected from electrical surges to prevent it from experiencing a blackout. He wondered what could have possibly occurred when his attention was suddenly shifted by a scream.
"ZANE!" Leira cried out, barely seeing the Pokemon that swooped in and carried off her Zangoose and the other Trainer's Flareon. All she saw was a yellow and black blur. She sprinted after the flying Pokemon. "Hey, you! Give me back my Zangoose!"
Heading outside to see what the clamor was, the young man noticed one of two things almost immediately--one, a giant yellow and black avian he immediately recognized was beginning to fly off towards what he presumed to be the south. Initially thinking he was imagining things, he shook his head to realize that the Zapdos was indeed carrying what appeared to be a Zangoose and a Flareon, and a young woman was attempting to chase it down on foot. Secondly, upon glancing over at the other trainers, Tekno noticed that the rest of the town was very, very dark. Eyes wide, he took a second to realize that the Pokemon Center wasn't the only location experiencing a power failure. The entire town seemed like it was out, too. Though, if that was the case, then...
~The Power Plant,~ Tekno silently thought to himself, taking his wrist device to glance down at it. He was preparing to call headquarters when he noticed... ~Great. Signal indicating no reception. Zapdos must have interrupted communications when it flew past. I can't call headquarters!~
Great. This was just wonderful. Gritting his teeth, he glanced back up over at the electrical bird, and hoped that everything was alright back at HQ. Without any hesitation, he immediately made to scramble towards the Tesseract...

Ah, yes. Might was well post my version of it here. (I hate it though, it's such a cliche villian speech).
Deep within the walls of the fort called Trace Italienne are several long hallways. Some of them lead to traps, the others, to dead ends. They are decoys. Amongst them all is a long hallway. The ceiling is not tall, and there are no elaborate paintings, or carvings. Those only serve to weaken the structure. But the scale remains grandiose, the walls solid, as if representing the iron grip of power. Within that hallway are numerous guards. Mightyenas and houndooms lie at their feet. There are two more of the trainer-and-pokemon hound companions at the end of the hall. Their eyes stand attention at a door, their hounds looking fiercer than the rest. Beyond that door lies a single mahogany desk, a rare piece considering the lack of the requisite local flora, where everything else was mostly comprised of stone.
Pacing back and forth beyond the desk is a man. His face is deep with thought, implied with schemes unsaid, not through the emotions he betrays, for in his face, there are none. An arcanine sits next to the fireplace, its large muscular form and brilliant fur basking in the warmth.
He hears three deep knocks at the door. Despite modern technology, League Chief Peter Reckonin preferred the lost old fashioned archaisms of the past.
The man enters hastily, glancing once over the tall figure of the Chief and his neatly pressed League uniform, the circle band on his breast symbolizing unity, and salutes sharply.
"At ease," Reckonin says.
The man says only three words. "Chief Reckonin, Zapdos".
-----------
Chief Reckonin strode up on the parapet of the great fortress, alone, his arcanine absent from his side, putting distance between him and his loyal guards, much to their dismay. If possible, he would exude as much a non-threatening gesture as he could. Trepidation crossed his face, but he doused it with a dose of determination. The storm raged overhead, drenching the Chief and his guards, the houndooms looking miserable. Conductor rods around the parapet channeled the lightning into peripheral bolts that streaked, barely missing the people on the roof, the only thing that protected them from the lethal element.
No doubt Zapdos was angry. The storm was a testament to that. Reckonin was beginning to doubt his initial notions. But he had to make sure, even if he had to put his life on the line. He didn't want to be one to provoke an unnecessary conflict that could kill millions.
The air bristled with static. Reckonin felt his shirt grow closer to his chest, his hair standing out against the wind. The rush of energy warped the visible electricity outside the conductors. Zapdos, landed, perfectly balanced on the end of one of the conductor rods, sizzling with energy.
"I am League Chief Reckonin," he spoke, voice strong. "What is the matter, Zapdos?"
"Reckonin," the bird spoke. The voice was a raspy metallic that stung in the Chief's ears. It seemed as if there were two voices speaking at once. "How polite of the highest member of the League in the immediate vicinity to address me personally. It is very naive of you to approach me so. I admire your resolve."
The bird-form took its time in the mockery of its statement, before shifting onto a serious tone. Zapdos bent down as a plume of electricity extending from the bird took the form of a ghastly mask, sparks igniting the edges to produce a luminescent glow that arched over the two figures.
"I am Finar, Zapdos is merely my vessel."
The guards' hounds bristled. Reckonin motioned for them to stay quiet. The Chief was beginning to sweat, not entirely because of the heat from the sizzling electricity.
It continued, "This city has grown complacent. It has been destroyed twice before and will be done easily do again. Those in the countryside will die while you hide inside your fortress of shame, behind layers of dead rock. This fortress will be a testament to their deaths, as it has been for the deaths of many in the past. You will watch them die, and then I will come after you."
The Chief raised his hand slightly. The crack of a single .50 bmg round echoed in the air. A spark of electricity. Under the Zapdos-Finar's talons fell the deformed round.
"A pathetic, useless attempt. How impolite," the metallic voice extruded. The plume of electricity that was Finar retracted, as Zapdos' eyes sprang into focus.
A wave of electricity enclosed one of the guards in its grasp, before shocking it with multiple blasts of lethality, the guard falling to the ground like a puppet. The other guards rushed around the Chief, defending his body. The pokemon followed in formation, the mightyenas in front of the Chief, while the houndooms stood at a distance, blasting the bird with multiple flamethrowers, but unable to penetrate the bird's light screen. Zapdos took off from the rod, flying off into the sky. Smoke trails of guided missiles rushed towards it, only to be deflected by electric fields, falling towards several buildings in magnificent explosions of flame and smoke.
Reckonin spoke, his voice throaty with smoke, "Alert the residents...send them into their bunkers!"
His voice was drowned out by the multiple bolts of lightning and crashing thunder that fell from the sky, as they swept the streets like giant arms.

I don't want to sound accusing here, but what you're doing with Seismitoad is bordeline god-moding there. Autohitting, no description of dodging/evading being hit, no description of it taking any damage whatsoever OR recovering from said damage, instead just continuing to battle as if nothing had even happened?
