KoKo's Story

"Get back here!" a male voice yells. "Get back here so you can be punished!"

On all fours, a purple cat-like creature was running, more like fleeing, from her pursurers. As much as she wanted to stand up and fight, the Purrloin knew she was outmatched. After all, a dark-type Pokemon like her was no match for a Machoke, a Medicham, and a Scizor, all Pokemon who's attacks would be super-effective on her.
So she kept running, and on all fours, she was definitely faster than the Pokemon who walk on two legs.

Then, she heards the sound of vibrating wings, and a voice from above: "You can't get away from me you mangy pest!"

Without glancing up, KoKo picks up the pace. How could she have forgotten that a Scizor can fly? How could she be so stupid?

KoKo focuses on her target: the dense, dark forest that was ahead of her. If she could loose her chasers in there, she'll be safe.

"Metal Claw!"

KoKo felt a hard claw smash against her side, knocking her harshly to the ground. With a cry, the Purrloin looks up in horror as a angry Scizor was hovering the the sky above her, a orange sphere growing in his claws. "Say good-bye! Hyperbeam!"

KoKo closes her eyes. She was too close in range, there was no way for her to dodge this attack!

Drinak was walking home after mediating all day with Xatu when he heard shouting and decided to investigate . He ran towards the edge fo the forest and saw a group of Pokemon attacking a smaller one. " Hey you guys that's not cool at all your picking on a pokemon less than half your sizes if you wanna fight pick on someone your own size . " he said angrily he hated those type of Pokemon who profiled types of pokemon.

Scizor turned his attention to Drinak" Oh look it's girly boy guys what you gonna do do a dance for us ?" they all laughed and pointed at him almost forgetting the Purrlion they had been chasing . " Go home leave this to the big kids Drinak " said the Medicham. Drinak's blades extended and he knocked back the scizor " DO NOT CALL ME A GIRL" he screamed as he charged him knocking him into a tree with his extreme speed. The Macoke ran towards Drinak screaming and grabbed him from behind then threw him in the air. " Dont even try buddy " he looked down and slashed a phyco cut knocking the fighting type back onto the ground and Drinak landed on him softening his landing. " You wanna go " he looked at the medicham as it started to get ready to let out a menacing hi-jump kick. Drainak charged a his blades turning dark green as he slashed with leafblade knocking her back into the tree. " Now get out of here and I don't wanna see you pestering Pokemon again " he said as his blades retracted and they ran away in terror.

Drinak turned around and saw the small Pokemon quivering in fear " Are you okay miss " he smiled softley and held out his hand. " They probably won't be bothering you anymore I think I scared them enough " he smirked " Im Drinak by the way and you are "

KoKo had squeezed her eyes shut. She wasn't going to watch her own end. Then, all of a sudden, commotion occurred. When KoKo cautiously opened her eyes, she was stunned to discovered that all three of her attackers had vanished in fright.

Then another Pokemon's voice called out softly: "Are you okay miss?" KoKo glanced up and saw a Gallade. Was he the one that scared off the other Pokemon? Is this her hero?

"They probably won't bother you anymore," the Gallade continued, "I think I scared them enough." He then smirked and held out his hand. "I'm Drinak by the way," he introduced, "and you are?"

At first, KoKo had a small smile on her face. Here was a Pokemon who was willingly to assist a dark-type like her!

Then two gestures angered her: his smirk and his hand being held out.

How dare this Gallade laugh at me!? Does he think I'm incapable of helping myself!?

Growling, KoKo rolls a little bit backwards and jumps up, landing perfectly on her two paws. She doesn't need help getting up!
Now, turning to Drinak, she replies curtly, "I'm KoKo. I appreciate your help and concern, but it's not needed anymore."

Drinak sensed a change in the atmosphere but decided not to look back. He continued for a few minutes when his eyes widened and his head ached a voice saying " I need to see you it's ergent " he sent a message back " Be right there master " he dashed forward towards Physic Peak. It was where Xatu always sat when she wanted to meditate she only came down when she needed supplies which was very seldom now that Drinak could get them for her. Xatu was the one to make the prediction that evil and death would come from the north. Drinak didn't believe her fully but he decided to see if it was true . He had told her and she said she thougth it would he a good idea. He was going to set off tomorrow he had enough supplies for three Pokemon so he thought he would be okay.

" What is it master " Drinak said as he sat behind her. " You have faced a new challenge today have you not about all dark pokemon being evil it isn't true. The one you met isn't even from the north and see was to proud not evil." Drinak nodded and stood up" I understand they have been treated like dirt in the regions and they are mad about it I see. Thank you master I shall keep in touch while I am on my expidition " he bowed as did the bird pokemon. " Good luck my apprentice and be careful " said Xatu. Drinak nodded and ran off to his home. He saw the small purrlion angry as he walked past and threw a weak smile her way as he passed then he continued on his way to his home.

KoKo saw Drinak later that day, and he gave her smile. This gave her the courage to approach him.

"Um," she started, while rummaging through the small sack that she retrieved not to long ago, "I must apologize for my behavior."
Her head hung low so she couldn't see any of the Gallade's reaction. "I truly appreciated your assistance, and when I thought that you were laughing at me, I quickly and unjustedly became offended and was terribly rude to you. For that, I'm sorry. Plus I am in your debt since you saved my life."

Drink bowed and smiled again " It is okay my friend , I am sorry to I was a bit too quick to judge you . Plus I would never laugh at a Pokemon unless they are trying to be funny. Just forget about the debt too I was just doing what anyone should do." He started to walk away then turned back quickly.

" Well there may be something you can help me with , you see I an preparing an expidition into New Moon Forest and being a physic type I may have a few problems going alone even with my fighting moves and power. So I might need a dark type to somewhat make them more calm what do you say " he held out his hand.

Kai's eyes scanned the area as she wandered through the forest she once called home. It wasn't very different from her memories, perhaps slightly darker, but that might just be because she was now used to the world outside. She sniffed the air lightly. There were plenty of other Pokemon near by, though none seemed to be worth speaking to. They would most likely just say something cruel, as usual, and run off laughing. Kai snorted slightly. This was just the way several dark types behaved. Not all, as Kai never thought of herself to act particularly mean, but a good few. She let something catch her eye as she walked by. A Gallade and a Purrlion having a conversation? That in itself was odd. She turned toward them; ducking in a shrub.

Now, Kai was an idiot when it came to hiding. So her tail stuck out of the shrub and her eyes could quite easily be seen glowing in the leaves. But she thought she was doing rather well! After all, if they saw her, they might attack. Not many Pokemon in this forest maintained a friendly attitude toward outsiders. So it was best to just remain in hiding and see what there was to see.

KoKo smiles a little and puts her paw in Drinak's hand.
"Well, one," she started, "I'm not going to forget my debt. You saved my life, so that's that. And two, sure, I'll accompany you to New Moon Forest, as it so happens, we are heading in the same direction. Besides, New Moon Forest is just right over there," she finished that last statement with a flick of her tail in the direction of the looming and thick trees not too far away.

Then, KoKo sensed that her and Drinak were not alone. Her eyes dart over to the border of New Moon Forest, and she saw a pair of gleeming eyes.
She turns her attention back to her new traveling companion. "Well, not all dark-types are aggressive," KoKo remarks rather loudly, "just either prideful like myself or misunderstood."

KoKo waves bye to Drinak and then waves in the direction of the forest, "Bye whoever was watching us! We'll be back tomorrow, bright and early!" Snickering, the purple Purrloin starts to head towards another section of the forest, which wasn't actually New Moon Forest. It was a piece that held tons of Berries and other foods, so she had decided a few days ago to settle there until she begin her trek to New Moon Forest.

While on her stroll, KoKo couldn't help but wonder. Why did she decide to go to New Moon Forest? About a week ago, she had decided to check the place out to see if she could perhaps prove all of the dark-types' innocence, but now, as she was getting closer and closer to her desintation, she was expericencing a feeling of rememberance.

But last time KoKo checked, she never lived in New Moon Forest.

But then again, how could she be so sure? She had no memory of who she truly is, or at least was.

About three months ago, KoKo had woken up in a ravine with absolutely no idea of anything. No family, no friends, not even her name, could she remember. So as soon as she exited the ravine, she made sure to find out exactly where she was. Even though no Pokemon was kind to her, she was able to discover that she was way south.
So how could she have ended up in a ravine in the southern part of the world if she had lived in the New Moon Forest in the north? It didn't make sense at the time.
But when she was traveling, every step it seemed to her like she was returning to someplace familiar....

But no! KoKo never lived in New Moon Forest! All signs and clues pointed that she never lived anywhere close to the place.

Yet........

Drinak walked back to the edge of New Moon forest and shuddered a little he made sure no one noticed but he was scared out of his mind. He tied a Silver Bow around his arm for luck as he always did. This was what he had around his neck as a child and he kept it with him always. He looked in his bag that hung on him like a sash , there was plenty of apples,sitrus, and pecha berries.

Drinak felt a bit sick so he sat on the ground and started to meditate , he hovered a bit and tried to use future sight. After a few unsuccessful tries, he got it and saw a vision. He saw himself fighting a large pokemon. He couldn't tell who it was but he saw he was getting beaten badly. Then there were multiple Pokemon readying there attacks, then the vision ended. Drinak fell to the ground panting.

This wasn't often that a vision was so hazy it must be from far in the future to far for him to see. He went toa nearby stream and splashed some water on his face he was shaking like crazy now and he didn't understand why. He went back to the spot and started to slow his breath, he picked an aspear berry from a nearby bush and started to chew, he then plucked a few more and put them in the bag as well. They were uncommon in the south but were very useful if they were going north. He closed the bag and waited for KoKo his shaking had almost stopped.

KoKo was no fool. She knew there were other Pokemon around, so she decided to check it out.

And as it turns out, she was correct. Drinak was conversing with more Pokemon now, a Houndoor and a Scolipede this go around. With her ears pricked up, KoKo figures it wouldn't hurt to hang out in one of the lower tree branches, hidden of course, and wait for the perfect moment to make her appearance.

Now settled on a low tree limb close to the group, the purple Purrloin crouches and waits patiently, something she has mastered perfectly.

Drinak can probably sense her presence, and there is a good majority of Pokemon who have that annoying ability to sense when they're being watched. Well, KoKo had that same ability as well, so she couldn't be a hypocrite.

Okay, now it's a good time to make myself known, KoKo thought to herself.

Due to the group being farther away now, the Purrloin leaped gracefully from limb to limb before somersaulting into the middle of the clearing.
There she stood on two feet in front of Drinak, and even though her posture seemed relaxed and her arms crossed in a sort of lazy manner, the aura around her was obviously protective and angry. "Leave Drinak alone!" she growled, eying each other Pokemon in the clearing. "Can't y'all see that there's something wrong? Are y'all blind to his mental sufferings?"

Turning the majority of her attention to Suicune, KoKo continues, "Why would you care? Don't you have better things to do, like 'purifying' stuff?" She said 'purifying' sarcastically. She didn't believe that anyone had the power to do that, not even a legendary.

Kai looked up at Suicune as he suggested finding a way to stay warm. She smiled. That wouldn't be too much of a problem. Last time, she had managed to survive the same way she would this time.

"I already have a way! I can lay in fire for a while and I'm perfectly fine. After all, I don't get hurt in fire." She wagged her tail. "So, I can come?" She jumped a little happily. When asked about Drinak, she simply turned to the Gallade. She dropped her ears when she heard him direct some words at her. She snarled slightly; only dropping it when he collapsed. She glared now, just waiting.

Kai's eyes concentrated on Koko as she jumped from the tree. She growled, a little smoke starting to come from her mouth. She suddenly laughed darkly. "We all put up with something, prissy. Some of us just know how to put up with it a little better." She spoke with flames still in her mouth. She snorted, flames disappearing. She then sat down; still glaring. "I think it's best you take him and go." She glared a little. "I'm sure Suicune is a nice enough guy to forgive you, unfortunately, I'm not." She growled a little before Roaring loudly. The force was enough to send any Pokemon flying backwards, after all, that was the point of the move. But, she assumed the worst, they could always come back, or they could dodge the attack, unlikely. This should send them running though. She grinned a little.

Kai's Roar attack hits KoKo, but while she was flying, a tree stood in her way. Yes, past tense is needed, because it was a small tree, and her impact broke the poor tree.

Standing up from the wreckage, KoKo glares at the Houndoor, about to pounce. She didn't care for canine-like Pokemon, which was natural for a feline like herself.
However, she noticed Drinak walking away and proceeds to follow him, walking on all fours.
But before she left, she turns her head towards the remaining Pokemon. "Look, I don't know why Drinak's going into the New Moon Forest, but I will say this one time, loud and clear: try harming him, and face my retaliation. He saved my life, so I'm indebt to him." KoKo gives each Pokemon a look. "I will shred anyone who dares to hurt Drinak in anyway."

Without waiting for any responses, the Purrloin stalks away, following the Gallade.

KoKo finds Drinak leaning against a tree, nibbling on a Sitrus berry. "Now what?" she asks him while proceeding to clean her fur of dust and tree bits.

" Well for now , our best bet is to head to the center of the forest to see if we can find a leader or leaders of some sort and stay away from the other group " he finished his berry and dusted his hands. He tried to act fine but his mind was still racing about trying to figure out why he had that vision. He had been in the presence of other legendarys before and they never gave him any visions. " Do you have any sense of direction because I'm still a bit shook up " he smiled and laughed a bit trying to act calm.

He stood up and took the silver Bow of his arm and put it around his neck acting it as a bandana. " If I can figure out a way to prove that this is not an evil place , then the attacks and talk of battle to destroy here will be over and I shall try to do the same for all four territories. " He smiled again at KoKo " Thanks again for protecting me and sorry about not protecting you from that roar."

KoKo swipes one paw at her right ear, trying to remove a bit of bark. "Alrighty then, I'm great with direction. Never gotten lost in my life" or what I can remember, she thought silently.

After Drinak thanks and apologizes to her at the same time, she replies, "No need to thank me, I was only oing what any friend would do." Releasing a small growl, KoKo continues, "And that Roar was a cowardly attack. Honestly, Pokemon who use moves like Roar, Whirlwind, Protect, Attract, that sort of thing, are just a bunch of weak cowards who are too chickened to fight. If that Houndoor wanted to get her point across, she could have done it better."

KoKo glances at Drinak, worried. "Is there anything I can get you? You seemed either pained or distracted...."

" No no I'm fine thank you. " he pondered about two things . One was KoKo saying " Or what I can remember " . " Did she have amnesia, or something else. " he thought to himself the quickly snapped himself back into reality. " Good thing your a navigator , I couldn't find my way out of a mesh bag. " he laughed slightly to himself then thought about the second thing. Friend , it rang inside his head like a bell. He never made friends with anyone and was more of which a loner mainly because of his visions and him being violent at nature. He wondered if she would stay or possibly eventually leave after s he found his true personal goal. He didn't want the 'Evil' type Pokemon to be falsely accused but he also needed to see his sisters.
