"Riku, you must keep up, or we'll be late for the meeting." Ho-oh says, calmly swooping over Riku as he races along Route 4 towards Cerulean City, her majestic silhouette filtering the midday sunlight.
"What?! I wouldn't have to keep up if you would just fly both of us there!" he replies, clearly tiring from the constant pedalling. Occasionally there are slopes where he lets up on the effort, savouring the cool breeze and the soft crunch of gravel under the tires.
"My boy, you take me for granted. Besides, it's good exercise."
"Yeah, I guess," he puffs, a film of sweat glittering on his forehead, "but what if I get attacked by one of those dark pokemon?"
"You really think anything will try it while I'm in the air above you?"
Riku didn't need to look up to feel Ho-oh's patronising glance. "No, ma'am. They won't."
"Damn right. Ok, you can slow down a bit now. We're almost there." Approaching a gatehouse, she lands on the roof. "I'll meet you on the other side." She flies north along the edge of the city, landing in some trees out of sight.
-----

Inside the gatehouse, Riku pushes his bike along the concrete floor, but is stopped by a burly man in a silver and red outfit. Beside him stands a Machamp, somewhat taller than the 'guard'.
"You must pay the toll to enter Cerulean City. Ten pokedollars." He holds a hand outstretched to Riku.
"Since when is there a toll on this route?" Riku replies, sceptically.
"Since when is it your business to question my authority? Ten pokedollars. NOW." The Machamp glares at Riku menacingly.
"Ok, ok." Riku says, with a sigh. "Take the money."
The 'guard' steps aside, allowing Riku to pass. "Enjoy your stay." he says through a forced smile.

Riku leaves the gatehouse, and heads into the city, still cursing under his breath about the loss of ten pokedollars. Scanning around, he doesn't see Ho-oh, so he heads North along the treeline to see where she landed.

Suddenly, two hands grab both of Riku's shoulders and pull him back, accompanied by a familiar female voice. "BOO!"

He breaks free, spinning around to face his 'attacker', and finds a shimmering red-haired girl with blue eyes staring at him with a bright smile. Her skin is tanned, hidden beneath a dark leather ensemble, similar to a dress, accompanied by long, black gloves adorned with silver. Bemused as he is, he doesn't notice his mouth is slightly ajar, or that the bicycle crashed down on top of his foot.

The girl, still smiling, says, "What's the matter, Riku? You look like you've seen a ghost!"

"H-how did.... wait...." he stammers in reply. "Y-you're not.... no, you can't be."

"Can't be what, child? A pokemon?" the girl says calmly, still smiling away.

"Oh god, you are her."

"Of course I am, silly." says Ho-oh, laughing. She beckons him to follow as she starts walking North. "Now come on, let's go. The cave is nearby."

Riku follows with his bicycle, still a little dumbstruck by this revelation. They walk in the shade of the forest as the sun shifts Westwards overhead (I know, I know the sun doesn't move around us, but it sounds better.), through lush long grasses towards the lake.

Ho-oh stops at the waterside, and shudders. "I hate water..." She turns back to Riku. "My boy, due to the nature of our business here, it is best if we don't alert people to our presence. As such, I don't want to reveal my true form, or we risk our meeting being compromised. Would you mind using one of your pokemon to fly us across?"

Riku takes a ball from his belt, and summons Archeops. The bird pokemon lands, and comes over to him. "Ok boy, no battles for now. We just need to get across this lake at the moment. You think you can carry me and another passenger?"

Archeops glances at Ho-oh, head tilted to the side slightly. After a moment, it tilts its head even further to the side, before turning back to Riku and nodding positively.

"Good. Let's roll. Ladies first." he offers a hand to Ho-oh to help her on to Archeop's back. She takes it, and climbs awkwardly on to the pokemon's back. He secures his bike to the nearest tree, then sits down behind her.

"This is weird, Riku. It just feels unnatural, you know? It's... it's laziness." She says, shuffling around to make herself comfortable.

"Do you want to swim?" Riku asks, solemnly.

"No, no, no." she replies firmly, a hint of fear in her voice.

As they take off into the air, Riku can't help but wonder about the severity of the situation they are here to combat. It must be something big if the world's legendary pokemon are coming here to discuss it, and he must have a role to play if Ho-oh has brought him along in the first place. And if this happening to him, then who is to say there won't be others?!

"So many things have happened to me in the past few weeks that I'm not sure what's going on anymore, nor what my original purpose for coming to the Kanto region was...

I managed to see those shimmering blue eyes at the Whirl Islands again, after which there was an explosion of sorts in the water and then a trail of sparkling light created by the moon's light shining on the moisture in the air heading due East towards Kanto. I think that is why I originally headed out here, but then again I believe there was another reason entirely behind my trip.

Along the way, just as I exited Johto's lands for the first time, I was greeted by a young woman with silver hair and deep blue eyes. She looked almost ready for a battle, but never challenged me upon my approach nor my attempt to simply walk past her. She did, however, begin to speak to me of a resistance against the Team Rocket forces that had congregated in Kanto and that she wanted me to be a part of it.

"It's not my fight, so why must I get involved?" I had asked her.

She simply replied that as a trainer it was my duty to stand against Team Rocket, and she proceeded to explain to me the details behind what exactly it was that Team Rocket was doing. When I heard the facts about the Shadow Pokemon, my heart skipped a beat in both anger and excitement. As for the rest of the details, I could not ignore the acts of cruelty towards both humans and Pokemon alike that were being committed. I agreed to help and she introduced herself as Luana, a 'simple maiden trying to do her part in the fight against Team Rocket'... Yeah... 'Simple'...

And so that is where I now find myself. Luana forced it upon me to allow her to travel with me, and so we are now on the road to Cerulean City via Routes 5 and 6 from Vermillion City where the that brought me to Kanto arrived, to Saffron City and finally to the path to Cerulean City."

Together Kiiro and Luana walked the path of Route 5, with Cerulean City buildings visible just over a small treeline ahead of them. Both of them were quiet in nature, and neither really spoke unless spoken to. There was still a level of trust to build before they would freely speak to one another. In essence it was the perfect companionship with neither bothering the other. Neither spoke too much or too little for the other's taste, and so they traveled forward. After about an hour of walking they arrived at the entrance to Cerulean City where Kiiro was forced to pay a toll of 10 pokedollars in order to pass through.

He was about to contest when Luana stopped him and shook her head. He reluctantly paid the man guarding the entrance and proceeded to pass through afterwards.

"That was odd... back in Johto we never had to pay to pass through a simple gate from one route to another."

Luana looked over her shoulder at him with a blank expression.

"Think Kiiro, why would Kanto be so different from Johto in that regard?"

It didn't take much to know where she was going with the question.

"I know, I know... That guy is almost certainly either a member of Team Rocket, or he's being forced to collect tolls from people and hand them over to someone who comes to collect when he otherwise would be content to say 'Welcome to Cerulean City' to any travelers. I don't like this at all." He said angrily.

Luana nodded her head, and began to lead him into the city to where a meeting was supposed to take place between them and other members of this resistance against Team Rocket. Kiiro had to wonder though who Luana really was. She kept to herself most of the time and when he spoke to her, she was incredibly brief and to the point, not bothering to explain much of what she said as if she expected him to simply understand and go with it. Either way it didn't really matter at this point. He was here, and he was going to help in any way he could.

Kiiro and Luana wandered through the city and Kiiro took in the sights. He walked up and down the streets, observing the market, the Gym, the housing and the many water based attractions such as fountains and what not. He found it rather attractive in a way, having always been drawn to water and the Ocean despite his diverse range of Pokemon carried on his person.

Luana walked beside him, waiting patiently for him to finish his stroll as she watched the sun and waited for the right moment to bring him to the meeting spot.

Eventually, Luana began to realize that he had the right idea. She began to take in the sights more readily as well and found the activity of the people around them rather amusing.

Kiiro eventually found an area that was nice and open, and so he decided it would be nice to allow his Pokemon to stretch their legs a bit. Lapras was let loose in one of the deeper pools surrounding one of the fountains. Umbreon, Meganium and his shiny Rapidash were released nearby in under a tree. Salamence was released and immediately took to the air and found a nice perch atop one of the taller buildings. Finally, Feraligatr was released and took its place directly to his right side where it usually stands.

The Pokemon didn't need any orders or direction to understand that they were free to relax and enjoy themselves so long as they obeyed the rules of what Kiiro called "Free Roaming". They were to stay within view, behave themselves around strangers, and refrain from using any of their attacks without his orders. So long as they did so, they were free to do as they pleased.

Kiiro himself sat down on a small bench, Feraligatr laying down on the ground next to him while Luana watched him and observed his Pokemon. All of them were in perfect health with smooth skin, shining and vibrant eyes, well taken care of teeth and nails/claws, and excellent manners. A few children approached Lapras as it slowly swam in a circle around the fountain, and it carefully lowered its nose and allowed the kids to pet it. Umbreon and Rapidash simply decided to lie down in the shade beneath the tree as Meganium began to sniff all nearby plants. Salamence kept a watchful eye on the surroundings, and Feraligatr slowly began to fall asleep by Kiiro's side.

She was quite impressed by their obvious level of training and their obedience to their master. She began to go around to each one in turn and whispered to them. To Kiiro it appeared that she was just being kind to them, but what she was really doing was communicating with them. Each one told the story of how they came to be captured and of how well he cared for them despite how hard he trained them. Despite not having hundreds of battles under their belts, she could sense that each one was incredibly strong for its lack of experience.

Luana walked back over to Kiiro and sat down beside him.

"We're going to need to move very soon, so don't get too comfortable on this bench."

Kiiro looked over at her, but said nothing. He simply nodded to her as he took in a fresh breath and let it out in a sigh.

Finally back on the ground again, Riku and Ho-oh stand facing the entrance to Cerulean Cave. There is no guard on duty here, but before Riku can ask, Ho-oh speaks.

"The guard obviously has a bit of common sense. With all these shadow pokemon appearing and attacking, very few people would want to battle the strongest pokemon in the region..."

"Why did you choose this place?" Riku asks, calling Archeops back to his ball.

"A friend to our cause lives here. It is said that he built Cerulean cave with his powers, but I'm not so sure." She frowns. "Come to think of it, I don't know how old this cave is."

Riku had heard the legends as a child, that MewTwo lives here, and his eyes widen. "MewTwo is here?"

Ho-oh smiles at him. "Maybe. If him and the others have any sense, they will already be recruiting human trainers to our cause."

Riku says sadly, "Is that what I am then? A pawn?"

"No, dear child, no." She says, giving him a hug. "I brought you because I trust you. You're my friend, Riku, and I wouldn't want anyone else as a partner for what lies ahead." Riku can't think of anything to say, so he just smiles. "Let's wait here for MewTwo; I don't particularly want to get lost in a cave."

They sit down under a tree by the entrance, and wait for time to pass.

At this point, we join Ryuuji and the young girl he had met earlier that day traveling through Mt. Moon. It had taken some time to finally convince the girl to release him, and now that she had done so, Ryuuji realized that the girl didn’t know her way through this mountain at all. With a heavy sigh, Ryuuji began leading the way. Even if she didn’t know the way, his months of work in these caves meant that HE did. Though, he couldn’t help but wonder about what had happened back at the entrance… How had the small child convinced that guard to let them through? It seemed as if the man had been in a trance…

At this point Ryuuji eyed his companion carefully. “So,” He began, talking casually. He wanted answers, and the first thing he wanted to know was who this girl was. “May I ask what your name is?”

The little girl blinked, looking ahead through the tunnels as they walked. Is she ignoring me!? His eyebrow twitched in annoyance once more. “You may.” She finally answered. …? That’s it!?

Still trying to keep his calm, he continued his questioning. “And? What is it?” He could tell by this time that they would soon be in Cerulean. They were almost at the exit of Mt. Moon by now.

“Chise.” The girl, Chise said. She was almost annoyingly to the point. Not that anything could be done about it…

“Alright, then… Now, how did you get that guard to let us in here?” Ryuuji continued. He had a theory on how she pulled it off… but it just wasn’t possible. He didn’t even want to think about it. Of course, at this Chise didn’t respond. The moment of silence made Ryuuji look to where she had been standing, only to find that she was no longer standing next to him. “Hey! That isn’t funny! Where’d you go?” He called. If I get in trouble for losing this kid when she was the one so eager to drag me in here-

“Here I am!” Chise shouted, leaping at Ryuuji and landing on his back. She had climbed up a small rock to one side of Ryuuji. Since she was so short, Ryuuji hadn’t considered her being above him.

“Ouch!” Ryuuji moaned as his new-found burden landed on his back.

“Carry me!” She chimed, a grin on her face.

“Why should I? You spoiled little brat!” Ryuuji began shouting, trying to grab at the small girl clinging to his back. This plan, however, back-fired immediately after he insulted Chise. She wrapped her arms around his face, grabbing his cheeks and pulling them to either side as hard as she possibly could. “Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow! Ok, ok! I’ll carry you! Let go!” He shouted, sprinting for the exit of Mt. Moon.

Chise only released Ryuuji’s face when they had successfully made into the light of Cerulean City. It was a rather elegant city, actually… Ryuuji didn’t visit on many occasions though, as he had more important work in Pewter and Mt. Moon itself to attend to. At this point, Ryuuji had all but given up getting the little nuisance off of his back, and had conceded defeat. Of course, the red marks on his cheeks were enough to show that.

“There.” Chise pointed towards one side of the city. It seemed to lead off down a path. From what Ryuuji had heard while in Pewter, this path led to a stretch of water which in turn led to a vast cave where the legendary Pokémon known as Mewtwo once was known to reside.

“Why do you want to go there?” Ryuuji asked, frowning slightly. Though he had planned to explore the cave himself after finishing his research on Mt. Moon, he didn’t like the idea of going into a place he hadn’t thoroughly researched first.

“We have to!” Chise stated, still pointing in the direction. “Come on, hurry up!”

“I swear I’m never having kids…” He sighed, walking slowly through the Cerulean City streets with a bored and somewhat annoyed expression on his face. Meanwhile, Chise sat atop his shoulders, grinning wildly as she directed him towards what would soon be his destiny. Little did Ryuuji know that his missing Pokémon and his troublesome new acquaintance were one and the same.

#, as written by Rhyme
The two of them walked into the light city. Amaya kept her Froslass out, she didn't trust Mewtwo whatsoever. She didn't know if he was telling the truth, or if he was even sane. She looked at the boy, black shirt, blue jeans, and a wrist band. Very simplistic. He raised an eyebrow, and Amaya looked away. She could hear his wild laugh trailing from behind. Then it stopped abruptly, and in surprise, Amaya looked back at her self-proclaimed companion as he wasn't following her anymore.

"Hey, lady." Mewtwo said smoothly to an old woman, carrying a Bonsly. She was somewhat struggling, and no one really offered to help her. Then she noticed Mewtwo.

Mewtwo then winked and took the baby Pokémon away from the old woman. He winked at her roguishly, and the lady’s cheeks reddened.

"You're a sweet man." She croaked. "Poor dear's injured. Attacked by one of thems dark Pokémons."

What's he doing?

Mewtwo arched an eyebrow at her, and leered at her sunken bosom. Amaya made an almost audible sigh, and marched over to Mewtwo. Grabbing his collar, she tried to drag him out of the scene, but Mewtwo stayed put. He grinned at the lady.

"Don't like the sounds of this." The lady drawled. "Dark 'mons attacking. It's team Galactic, I tell yers! But, run off, sweetie. You already have a girl of your own."

Mewtwo laughed again, while Amaya let go, and stood there, fuming.

Really? Really! That... was...

Mewtwo noticed Amaya's angry glare, and he raised his hands defensively. His mildly ugh handsome face shifted in surprise. She almost mouthed something, thought better of it, and closed her mouth. Mewtwo then started whistling a tune, a familiar tune, but Amaya couldn't recall the name. She felt it's energy attempt to soothe her, so she put all her willpower into resisting Mewtwo's suggestive force. She succeeded, and now was seething.

"That was my grandmother!" Mewtwo exclaimed to her. "I had to help her out."

"Mewtwo." Amaya muttered, her eyes trying to bore into Mewtwo's. "We aren't helping out every person we go see."

Mewtwo then gave her a look of mischievousness, and ran off. Amaya fought within herself for a moment, and sighed. It would be stupid getting a Legendary Pokémon angry. And perhaps, when it came to, Mewtwo could help her fight when Team Rocket finally catches up to her. Now that she has revealed herself to them, Amaya knew she'd be in jeopardy. Froslass seemed to understand this, staying close to her at all times. Before, Froslass would roam along at her own pace, but this was dangerous. Might as well make Mewtwo happy.

Goddamn it.

She eventually found Mewtwo flirting with a girl a few years older than herself. She was tall, thin, athletic. She also appeared to be a swimmer; she was built lean and quick. Her red hair glistened. Mewtwo moved suggestively, and the redhead giggled.

"What do you think you're doing?" Amaya shouted at Mewtwo, bristling. The boy laughed nervously, and looked sheepishly embarrassed.

"I... was..."

What an act!

"Oh." The redhead scoffed in a snotty voice. "You're with her?"

Mewtwo nodded. "Guilty!"

"Well." Amaya snorted, now insulted and leapt on her high horse. "Excuse me, princess!"

It was almost an hour of nonsense before Mewtwo would settle down. Amaya was more annoyed then angry now, figuring Mewtwo was just goofing off before the seriousness would come. But this did nothing to improve her opinion of him.

"Ahh." Mewtwo sighed sleepily. "Cerulean does it every time."

Then his face hardened. His entire face seemed to close up, and the boy closed his eyes. Amaya sighed and continued walking; knowing Mewtwo would be able to find her. He was like a stalker. Amaya wouldn't put it past him to have watched her during the two month period since they first met. He probably was watching, and Amaya could see him laughing wildly every time Amaya stood triumphant at the end of a battle. Mewtwo was still carrying that idiotic Bonsly.

"What's up?"

"People." Mewtwo groaned. "At my home. My cave! I can sense them there."

Amaya's heart beat a little quicker. Was this going to be a battle! Perhaps it was Team Rocket. Her adrenaline coursed through her bloodstream, and Amaya had no idea if it was with fear or excitement.

"Let's just see who it is." Mewtwo told her, and Amaya grudgingly nodded. But, of course, she was itching for a fight. Not that that was any news, it was assumed that she was always feeling that itch, the urge for the rush of utter victory. Failing that, at least recognition of a new rival with a hard fought battle. Like that boy. Bird-boy. Amaya held no grudge against him, because it was fun. But Mewtwo had crushed her simply. That irked her.

Then she realized why she was hyped.

I want to battle Clarke.

Then she saw two figures, sitting by a tree. Amaya glanced expectantly at Mewtwo, who had a careful look on his face. Amaya concentrated on the two figures... one of them...

It was like a long waiting bomb finally exploded in her very essence.

"It's you!" Amaya screamed in sudden recognition. "Bird-boy! You! Come on, let's battle!"

Before Amaya could gage his reaction, Mewtwo grabbed her arm before she could point Froslass to the offense.

"This is a diplomatic meeting, Amaya." Mewtwo said, his insolent look back on his face. "Hello, Ho-oh! Lookin' good."

"And So you heroes continue their way on route 5 towards Cerulean City with the injured Tate in Kenji's care lets see what will happen to them now." Kenji narrated out loud as he and Suicune reached the exit of route five before it opened up into Cerulean city. She took the time to explain a few things on the way about the dark pokemon and the reason that she had joined with him on his way to the city of water. it helped support a few of the thoughts he had going on that the different stories of wild pokemon going feral. There were only a few group who could do such a thing ether team rocket, a forerunner, or one of the other groups of thieves and the such. This means that it will only get more dangerous as time goes on but what is more important is how are they able to do such a thing. that is the one question that makes kenji's heart beat excitedly, what is the answer that this mystery holds, the thought is just to good to not think of.

"Was it really need for you to say all of that out loud?" Suicune asked him with a quizzical look on her face tring to figure out why he said it at all.

"Eh? Well of course why not? Its fun its fun." he exclaimed excitedly was he flapped his arms at his side.

"Eh Right." he said doubtfully not able to get Kenji at all. He is a hard one for her to read since he ether says whatever he feels or just exclaims the strangest things so far. He had come to the exit of Route 5 and are greeted by a surly Guard who looked a little roughed up. It looked like something happened her not to long ago.

"Hey you need to pay ten pokedollars each if you wish to cross." he growled out seemingly out of what little patients he had and just held out his had before he spotted the pouch hanging from kenji's neck." What the hell is that?" he asked as he drew near them.

"Ah that?! that?! THAT! I will have you know that HE is not a that. He is Tate, mine and Mi-Chan's child of our love." Kenji said unabashed and with conviction has he throw his arm left arm around Suicune's slender shoulders and pulled her close as a shocked expression was on her face that matched the one the guard had. "It is a sad story of torn family, difficult hardships, and a bond that could never be understood." kenji said as he gave a mock cry and sniffle before the rattata gave a light squeak and popped it head out of the pouch for a second before going back in giving an even more strange impression."Or more it is an injured pokemon we found on our way here and are taking it to pokecenter." he said with a smile and a light chuckle. Suicune felt tired from Kenji's strange need to do things and just didnt say anything as the Guard just rubbed his fingers between his eyes.

"Look it been a long freaking day just pay then be on your way, I dont care any more." The Guard said not wanting to deal with any more of this pair.

"Ok." kenji said as he paid the toll knowing full well that it was never need before and it was suspect but giving the day he has had so far it would be better to just go with it as he and Suicune entered the city.

A Few Hours later after they dropped the Rattata at the center to get looked after and Kenji sending one of his pokeballs to storage. Kenji though since the pokemon was alone that he would take it with him and raise it since he already named him. Him and Suicune took a walk around the city as she explained where and what the meeting that will take place is about. He understood and it made sense as to why it would need to take place but a gathering of such powerful pokemon? Is it such a wise thing really to do it? Would it not be noticeable if such pokemon where to meet someone would notice. However since Suicune is now in human form could the others do it as well? Hmm What would they look like. he though to himself as they passed a fountain with a pool of water at its base.

"Hmm Mizu." He said thoughtfully as he looked at it.

"Huh? What about it?" Suicune said as she stopped next to him as he looked at it.

"Mizu...Mizu...Mizuki. i think that is what i will call you while you look like one of us. Would be wise not to give you away right? Mi-chan for short." he said happily looking at her with a grin.

"Uh right." She said giving him a strange look as they continued on their way into the city to go to the meeting point.

Time passes by the water's edge, as Ho-oh and Riku wait patiently for the unknown to come. They sit in silence, listening to birdsong over the slow sweeping tide, until Riku breaks it.

"Ho-oh, what is it like?" He turns to her, seeing the puzzled look on her face. "Being able to just take off whenever you want. Never having to stay somewhere you don't want to... just... always on the move... what's that like?"

"... it's freedom, dear boy. It's a gift that many of my kind have come to take for granted, but I know it is what your species dreams of at times. Your forefathers have been into space, and studied worlds beyond what most Pokemon don't realise exist. And for all that it is a wonderful thing, to fly, it is lonesome. Imagine flying the world for a decade, just because you can. It's lonely." She looks down at her hands, clasped on her legs.

"So why do it?" Riku asks. "Why keep flying?"

"Because I'm a monster, Riku. It's in my name, isn't it? People see me and think, 'Let's catch it! We'll be powerful trainers!', and the idea of being tied down doesn't suit me at all. You're not like them." she smiles.

Suddenly there comes a shout from the East trail by the forest. "It's you! Bird-boy! You! Come on, let's battle!"

Riku jumps to his feet, pokeball in hand, before Ho-oh nips in the way, arm raised. She feigns flattery at Mewtwo's comment, and walks around him, examining his human form, before giving him a quick embrace.

"Oh darling, I'm sure someone of your talents can do better than that..." she whispers, smirking, before backing off. "Riku, Mewtwo. Mewtwo, Riku." She turns to the girl. "...and you are?"

Riku hasn't glanced away from the girl, refusing to let her get a possible advantage over him, but he nods in acknowledgement. He places the ball back on his belt holder, and raises one hand to the girl. "Truce? For now at least?"

Ho-oh whispers, "You know her?"

Riku nods. "Yeah. I beat her about a year ago, in an almost dead-heat battle. Always thought she'd come back for revenge. I guess today is the day..."

"Mewtwo is right," Ho-oh says aloud. "We are here to be united, not to fight amongst ourselves."

"Finally!"

Arlandria had reached her destination: Cerulean City. She disliked the fact it was surrounded by water, but she'd deal with it for now. She started running towards the gate, going straight through. She let out her Growlithe, and smiled at him. He was the only one of her Pokemon who hated being kept in a Pokeball for too long. They walked over to the Pokemon Center, the first place any Trainer goes in a new city. What she didn't expect, however, was the huge line at Nurse Joy's station.

"Oh well. I guess we'll wait, okay?" Arlandria sat down in a seat by the window. She started petting Growlithe, just gazing around. But why were all of these people in here? There were too many people shouting at once to make out what they were saying. There was something fishy going on...'Maybe we should just come back later...'

But what could she do in the mean time? She couldn't just go around looking like she normally did, her face was known. "Where is Tasuka* when I need him?"

*The name I'm using for Entei when he's in his human form. It's kind of odd for me to call them by their Pokemon names. ^^

Luana began to look around and could feel the presence of some of the other legendaries who were beginning to arrive in the city for the meeting. She glanced at the sun to figure out what time it was and came to the conclusion that it was time for them to gather up Kiiro's Pokemon and head to the meeting in Mewtwo's old hideaway.

"Kiiro, it is time. We must be leaving now." She said intently.

He glanced over at her with a somewhat confused look on his face.

"What's the hurry? We just got here and we've only been sitting here about ten minutes."

Luana's expression saddened.

"I am afraid I haven't been entirely honest with you Kiiro. It is no coincidence that I met you and brought you to this place today. Terrible things are afoot here in Kanto and it is up to you, me, and my compatriots to put a stop to it. I have told you of the Shadow Pokemon and the resistance, but I have not told you that I am involved in that resistance. I also have not told you another very important detail about who I am and why I'm here... So, will you listen to my story?" She asked hesitantly.

Kiiro nodded to her, and she took in a breath and let it out in a light sigh.

"This is going to sound completely insane, but I swear to you that it's the truth. I am Lugia, the guardian of the seas in the Johto region and I am currently manifesting my spirit in human form. I can accomplish this using my psychic abilities and an ancient power that even we Legendaries do not fully understand to transform my essence into a human vessel so that I may walk amongst you and behave and interact as you do. Ho-Oh is the one who began this resistance and she has asked all of her fellow Legendaries to help in this struggle. Since none of us are capable of capturing other Pokemon, we need the aid of human trainers with strong ties to their Pokemon and who understand our concern for all Pokemon and people of this world... That is why I came to you, Kiiro. I need your strength in order to be able to stand against Team Rocket and their Shadow Pokemon. We Legendaries are powerful, but we are not invincible. Proof of this lies in this scar I received not too long ago-" She turned away from him and lifted her shirt partway to reveal a large scar on her lower back which had healed over on her side just below her ribcage.

"I received this scar in battle with a few of the Shadow Pokemon we fight against. This was before Ho-Oh decided to gather trainers to help us, and we underestimated the power the Shadow Pokemon possess. We were driven back and forced to retreat. I was able to use my Recover ability to heal myself, but there are some wounds that cannot be healed by Pokemon power alone..."

She placed her shirt back and turned around again.

"Kiiro, I understand that this is a lot of sudden information to take in, but if you look into my eyes I'm sure you'll see the truth in my words. I am Lugia, and you and I have met before in Johto a few times over the years whether you knew it or not. I have watched you since our first meeting, sensing your bond to your Pokemon companions and I knew that you would become a powerful trainer someday and that I would love to face you in battle myself... Little did I know that I would be needing your help first."

Lugia stood up and bowed to him briefly in apology.

"So, Kiiro... Can you forgive me for withholding that information until this point? And can I still count on you for your help in this upcoming war against Team Rocket and the Shadow Pokemon?" She asked insistently.

Kiiro closed his eyes and sat up straight, taking in a breath and letting it out very slowly and quietly.

After a minute of thinking, he opened his eyes, looked at her, and smiled.

"I'm in on one condition." He said flatly.

Her eyes lit up and she smiled at him.

"What's the condition?"

He stood up and looked her in the eyes.

"Once we have defeated Team Rocket and restored the Shadow Pokemon to the way they were, you and I are going to have a battle in the Whirl Islands where I first saw you all those years ago."

Her smile widened and she placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Deal!" She exclaimed.

With that, Kiiro gathered up his Pokemon and the two of them headed to the north of the city to find a way over to Mewtwo's old hideaway.

Ho-oh sighs, as MewTwo trails off into a rant. "Amaya, I have only met Mewtwo a handful of times. He's changed a lot ever since that... never mind. It's not important. Some things need to be forgotten. If anything, he's more sociable than before. Personally, I think that's a good thing, but others... others prefer the 'old' him." She glances back at Riku, who is still tensed and ready to battle, and speaks softly, "You're obviously quite taken with the idea of revenge... but you need to let these things go. It may seem like a petty grudge, but that's the foundations of any Team Rocket grunt's beliefs."

Riku decides to risk approaching, slowly. He reaches them, and is unsure how to greet Amaya, so he just nods.

The red girl seemed to calm her down. Amaya breathed deeply, still feeling sour about all of this. She had wanted to be free of Team Rocket forever. Forever didn't last as long as she had hoped. Why was Ho-oh looking at her like this, anyway? Amaya felt like a sick child. But Ho-oh meant well so she kept her anger down.

"I was supposed to be one of the best..." Amaya whispered to no one in particular. "Thanks, Ho-oh."

What hapened to Mewtwo? Something traumatic? Ho-oh didn't want to say.

She observed Mewtwo glumly for a few moments, then pushed the feelings of helplessness down. Her pride decided to show that weakness was not a part of her. At least, not supposed to be. So she pushed it away. But Amaya decided to act nicer to Mewtwo from now on as well. Whatever happened to him... it must have been bad.

She turned her fierce gaze back to Riku, who looked like he wanted to approach but wasn't sure of what to do.

I'm that scary, huh?

"Hey." Amaya said finally. She tried to sound friendly but her ears perceived it as a challenging tone. She then smirked a little at his reaction. "Bird-for-brains. If we're going to 'make nice', don't just stand there."

At this point we join Ryuuji and Chise as the two finally have reached their destination. Having thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to swim once more, Omastar nodded towards its master when Ryuuji said that it was time to return to its pokeball. The beam of light once again formed, this time enveloping Omastar before it absorbed him into itself and shot back towards the pokeball. Returning Omastar to his belt, Ryuuji turned and was about to begin walking in the direction of the caves entrance. After all, Ryuuji and Chise had landed to the right side of the cave, a little ways out of sight of the entrance to the cave. Chise didn’t hesitate to walk quickly, trying to keep pace with Ryuuji with her short legs.

After a short time of walking, Ryuuji began to hear the voices of other people. This brought his thoughts back to the guard he had met blocking the entrance to Mt. Moon… So, Ryuuji quickly pressed himself up against the rocky face of the outside of the cave, keeping shortly out of range of the others. He peered around the wall he was pressed up against to see 4 people… He had never met them before, and they didn’t appear to have the same expression in their eyes as the guard had… “Chise, who are those people?” Ryuuji asked, turning to look at his small companion.

“Um…” Chise began, gently tugging at her white gown, as if she didn’t have the nerve to answer the question. “About that…” She muttered.

“What? Do you know them?” Ryuuji asked, his eyes squinting in thought. This couldn’t be a trap… Then again this girl did talk that guard into letting us through… As much as he tried not to, he couldn’t help but get slightly suspicious about the whole situation.

“Well, I know two of them… but-but Ryuuji! I have to tell you something.” She continued, stammering with her words as she got more and more worked up over the situation.

“You said something like that before too… What’s going on?” Ryuuji asked, remembering the time during their ride on Omastar. Chise had appeared as if she had wanted to say something, but she never did.

“Well… You know how Jirachi went missing?” She asked, looking up at Ryuuji. This floored him. This girl really DID know what happened to his good friend.

“What the hell do you mean by that?” He asked, his tone reflecting his annoyance.

“Well, you didn’t really lose Jirachi, Ryuuji... You see… will you hear me out? Ryuuji, I AM Jirachi… I took this form in order to protect myself, and lead you hear. You see, Team Rocket has been doing horrible things here lately… Experiments on Pokémon. They’re turning them into monsters, Ryuuji!” She pleaded, grabbing hold of Ryuuji’s shirt. Ryuuji was stunned in silence, but didn’t have a chance to reply as Chise continued. “In order to do something about it, Ho-oh and the rest of our kind.. The legendary Pokémon planned to gather here… To find people who could help us protect this land. That’s why I need you, Ryuuji…”

Ryuuji’s eyes were as big as saucers and he stared at the girl before him. No longer paying any attention to trying to keep hidden, he backed away from the wall and out into the open to one side of Riku, Amaya and their partners. “Are you kidding me!?” He shouted, confused. He began rubbing his forehead, trying to calm down. “You’re saying that all this time I’ve been worrying about my Pokémon and trying to figure out what to do with you… and you’re Jirachi?” He stared into the girl’s wide eyes. She was upset that he didn’t seem to believe her, and her eyes began to well with tears. However, in truth, Ryuuji couldn’t help but believe Chise- or should he say Jirachi… They had never really lied to him. He sighed miserably, before motioning towards the other four to his left. “And I suppose you’re going to say these guys are Pokémon too?” That’s the moment he realized he had thoroughly blown his cover. He stopped and stared at the others there carefully. They seemed to have been in the middle of something, and Ryuuji had made quite an interruptive scene. “Um…” He began. Chise walked out from behind the rocks and stood beside Ryuuji once more.

“Hello…” The small human form of Jirachi said sheepishly.

"Huh seems they didnt hear us Mi-chan." Kenji said to her as they stood in Mewtwo's caves as they watched Ho-oh and Mewtwo as well as the two with them." So then I would guess the heavy hitters are coming out for this huh? As well anyone they think would be of use?" he said in a hushed tone to Mizuki as he stood by her. He had a lot of conjecures and thories on why such powerful beings need trainers but kept it to himself for now. he placed his hands on Mizuki's shoulders as he pushed her forward more into the cave closer towards the others as he shouted to them." Hey Hey people we have come to join thee in your most grand venture and most dangerous escapades." he said with a smile."Kenji reporting for duty Sir Mewtwo and General Ho-oh Ma'am." He said with a mock salute to them as he stepped out from behind Mizuki. She just frowned a bit at his antics.

"Please show more respect to Master Ho-oh Kenji, Mewtwo as well it is his cave after all." She said as she gave a light bow of her ehad towards Ho-oh knowing her very well since she was the one who made her as well as Entei and Raikou." Sorry if I am a bit late did my brothers come yet?" She asked as she looked around not sure what form those two would have picked to hide themselves. She looked towards Ho-oh human form and felt just as out classed as she did when in their normal forms." Its been a while Master Ho-oh its good to see you again."

"Pfft fine fine Mi-chan I will I will." Kenji said as he placed his hands on his head and took a look around the cave wondering how it came to be was it natural or did someone move the earth by force. If the stories about Mewtwo were even half true it would have to be guessed that Mewtwo could easily reshape the earth to fit his need if he wanted to. Which brought the question of the three there who was the strongest hard to say.He felt giddy at the thought as a smile creeped on to his face. He looked towards the other two poeple that were there as well a girl and a boy which from the look of it ether they hated each other or just clashing personalities. To him they looked like an old married couple that just spent to much time together. he waved to them to see if they would acknowledge him." hello I am Kenji Kurosawa. Nice to meet'cha Want some chips?" he asked as he pulled his bag around and held it up to them.

Riku is a little bemused, but offers to shake her hand. "I guess so. Nice to meet you, Amaya...." he frowns. "I always thought you'd be back to fight me again, so I guess I'm not really surprised, but you look exactly like you did a year ago." He pauses. "Oh, that's a good thing, in case, you know, you were wondering, or something... or not. I, uh... won't say anything else." He scratches his head. Damnit, Riku! You should be more confident! She's your own bloody self-claimed rival!! He draws breath to speak again, rethinks the idea, then blurts out, "Why did you run away?"

Ho-oh is a little amused, but remains silent until Kenji and Ryuuji show up, both in rather loud ways. She declines the chips, "No thank you, Kenji," then faces Suicune. "My child, you don't need to address me so formally. You are here as an equal. As a part of the whole... and no, your brothers are late.... as per usual.... and you, dear Jirachi, how have you been? You've grown! Or is that your human form that's confusing me??" She smiles. "And you're Ryuuji. Welcome."

Ho-oh walks towards the mouth of the cave. "I guess we had best get started. Mewtwo, did you ever finish that temple, or were you just trying to make yourself seem useful?"

Riku smiles brightly. "Gentleman first. Trainer second... and you should really stop calling me that - Archeop's brain is the same size as mine."

"It's not that, boy. It's just... knowing you it could be true. Knowing her, it couldn't be. Ok, you might have some good looks... and you're a charmer at times... but what could she possibly see in you?" She puffs, not realising her cheeks are a slight shade darker. Turning back to the cave mouth, she motions towards it. "Let's go to the underground lake. At least that part's completed... I swear if you even think about it, Riku, I'll burn you alive."

"Not even onc-" Riku starts.

"Not even ONCE!..." Ho-oh interrupts. "You know fine well that I hate water."

Ryuuji eyed down the girl who had approached him. Amaya. Her personality clashed against his brilliantly, but there was nothing he could do about it at the moment. Instead, he just brushed it off. This time, unusually, Ryuuji picked up Chise and sat her atop his shoulders. He showed no signs of his annoyance, but it was clear to Chise that he was still annoyed. She leaned in close to his ear and whispered “Ryuuji… You should be nicer to these people. They’re going to be your allies from here on out…”

“I don’t care who they are. If they insult you- I mean, if they insult me, then I can’t help but be angry about it.” He muttered, trying to mask his true feelings. After all, he couldn’t tell Jirachi that he actually cared more for her well-being than his own. That’d be like pouring gasoline on a fire… Chise stared at him a moment longer, before putting her hands gently on top of his head, a slight smile growing on her face. As much as she acted foolish, she could tell what it was that he was doing… He really did care about the bond they shared. He turned to look at Mewtwo, brushing off the statements of Amaya. “So? Do you plan on ignoring them, or should we do something about it?” Ryuuji himself still wasn’t completely sure of what the situation was. He knew that in some way Team Rocket was involved, but he wasn’t sure about the details. Either way, he’d find out soon…

Ho-oh smirks. "You're a big scaredy cat, aren't you?" She pulls away from him. "...and it's only half a temple, darling, and that's still being generous. Very well, I guess we should do your hard work for you."

Riku is surprised to see no battle, and that Amaya is returning. "Well, look on the bright side. We're gonna go battle some pokemon soon anyways. Maybe a Rhydon will gobble him up..." He hopes this will get a smile out of her. She is rather pretty, and seems like a good person deep down. Heck, if she ran away from Team Rocket, she must at the least have morals. Maybe a friendship could work...

Kiiro and Lugia managed to find a way over to the entrance to Mewtwo's old hideaway, but on the way there they spied a group of people standing around and talking. Some appeared to be arguing, which was typical given the age of a few of them. Lugia could sense the presence of some of the other Legendaries and informed Kiiro not to be surprised at who was present.

"I'll mind my manners as best I can" He said quietly.

She nodded to him and they approached the group without saying a word.

Kiiro wasn't really much for conversation if he had to be the one to start it. He assumed that as they approached one of the Legendaries would recognize Lugia and introduce themselves. If that happened he would be more than happy to return the favor, but he could already tell that there was at least one person he probably wouldn't get along with too well. Arrogant and cocky people were never favorites of his.

He wasn't sure who was there, but there were subtle hints as to the type of Legendaries present in the hair, skin tone, and eye color of those who were there. He made no outright assumptions, but he had a few guesses as to who was present already.

Riku wants a Rhydon for his collection. A big clumsy stupid Rhydon. Honestly, really? That's like, pretty much the opposite of a bird Pokémon. Amaya eyed him strangely. Perhaps he had a whole new line up, now. She would be careful to watch him during this little adventure against the new powerful Team Rocket. Of course, it'd be funny if they all died by some primitive band of Rhydons. Sheesh.

"You think so, huh?" Amaya contemplated when the boy mentioned a Rhydon eating up Ryuuji. "But he's my target. I call dibs on crushing him."

She locked eyes with Ryuuji.

You're mine.

Amaya grinned confidently, and stood up straight, her eyes blazing. A small grin on her face, as she palmed one of her Poké balls. A battle! Took long enough. Amaya could see it right now, as she lead the group straight into the tribe and utterly-

"No." Mewtwo cut into her thoughts. "Since we legendries will be only observing, I choose Riku to lead the children to battle."

Mewtwo smirked darkly at Amaya's slightly crestfallen face.

"What?" Amaya asked him, almost a shout. "Riku would just go all defensive! I can press the attack!"

"And you'd die." Mewtwo laughed. "You're way too volatile to lead anyone."

Amaya's face darkened for a moment, but then it went back to her normal, arrogant self. With a little flounder in her step, she walked a bit of ways away from Mewtwo and Ho-oh, somewhat noticing two more pairs entering, but not really acknowledging them. Froslass followed her gleefully.

"Well, Riku?" Amaya asked, her voice sweet and dangerous at the same time. "Aren't you going to lead us, bird brain?"

While Mewtwo shoved the vision of his temple in his mind, he was trying to set up a psychic link with the area. So he could teleport the group there. He tried to visualize it but he couldn’t. A certain green-haired girl kept creeping into his mind. He then looked at Ho-oh.

Celebi...
"Looks like we're walking." Mewtwo muttered to her. "Something's blocking my mind from teleporting us."

Kiiro looked around after the girl called Lugia her sister. He knew almost instantly that had to be Ho-Oh given the history between the two. He did a scan of everyone else that was present and found himself wondering how a few of them were picked by the Legendaries. Then again, judging a book by its cover was always a mistake so he decided to give them all the benefit of the doubt. Surely there was something about them that the Legendaries saw that he didn't, so he thought it best not to question them.

He turned to Lugia and leaned in close, whispering in her ear.

"Hey Lugia, are you sure that everyone here is truly powerful enough for the fight ahead? I'm usually pretty good at being able to see a trainer's capacity for battle, and a few of them seem a little... unstable to me. An example would be that girl with Mewtwo. She seems a little too competitive and head strong to be involved in something like this."

Lugia nodded to him in understanding, and she turned her head to whisper back to him.

"True in one perspective, but you seem to be missing the point Kiiro. Not every powerful trainer is as relaxed as you are. Young though she may be, she has a similarly strong bond with her Pokemon as you do and is more than capable of fending for herself. I understand that you grew up in a more organized and professional environment as far as you and your Pokemon were concerned, but different people from different lands and backgrounds all have their own way of dealing with the obstacles life throws in their way. She'll be fine, especially with Mewtwo by her side. As for the others, just be patient and you'll understand why they were chosen."

Kiiro nodded to her and did his best to relax about the situation. At present he seemed to be the oldest of the humans in attendance, which was not a comforting thought to him. The only comfort he found was that most of them started training at a much earlier age than he did. He started when he was fourteen years old, while most of them probably started much earlier.

Together he and Lugia decided to stand near Ho-Oh to wait for whatever was next.
