Appearance: Mark has a slight build that just reaches 5'8'' in height, with medium-length light brown hair and hazel eyes. He is quite slim, with no visible muscle, and his face is marked by a scattering of moles and spots.
Personality: Markus wants more than anything to accomplish something great, but doesn't have the experience or talent. He realises this, but instead tries to push his way through life with simple persistence. Whenever his skill is called into question, he becomes defensive to the point of arrogance, sometimes holding one-sided grudges out of resentment, though these are quite rare. He isn't incredibly confident, often shying away from possible danger or embarrassment, but does make an effort to be friendly with whoever is willing to do the same. Gaining his trust and respect is fairly easy, but hard to regain once lost.
History: Born into an unremarkable country family, Markus decided from an early age that he wanted to become someone celebrated. Setting his sights on being a professional trainer, he saved up enough money for a set of Pokeballs. He then took a day trip into a dense forest to find his first Pokemon, but couldn't catch a single one. After the sun had set, he was ready to give up and go back home when he saw a red eye drifting in the heavy shadow. He hurled his final Pokeball at it, managing to catch it by surprise and successfully capture the lone Duskull. As soon as he was able, Markus journeyed to Altamore, hoping for destiny to call to him someday soon.
Pokemon and personality:
Paskal goes out of his way to be unhelpful to Markus, possibly due to resentment at being caught by an unskilled trainer. Some of his favourite activities are causing mischief and getting into fights, then getting Markus to bail him out. His loyalty is unpredictable at best, abandoing his trainer when trouble brews or suddenly becoming fiercely protective whenever it suits him. His antics give Mark the uncomfortable feeling that he's being ruled by his own Pokemon.
