Schuit

The wanderer

0 · 294 views · located in Post Apocalyptic Manhattan

a character in “Post Apocalyptia”, as played by Schuit

Description

Schuit was only 17 with the last bombs fell. Now, 5 years later, he's 22 and he's grown wiser, stronger, and faster.
Schuit stands about 5' 11'' and always has his sword and bow on him. His sword was given to him when he was a kid, nothing more than a collector's item, but after he ventured out when the bombs fell, he sharpened it into a tool. His bow he's always had, but it was for sport, now it's for survival. Schuit is a Cautious person, whom doesn't trust many people, of course, he's never had that luxury. As he steps into Manhattan, he wonders what he'll find.

So begins...

Schuit Steps into what was once manhattan. Now nothing more than a graveyard for buildings. Among the rooftops he sees both lean to, and likely empty water towers. He wonders if there's anything worth scavenging in this city.
As he walks, he hears a scratching sound behind him. Schuit immediately drops to a crouch, and pulls out his bow. He looks around for the source, wondering if it's animal or person. If it's a rabbit, he's going to have himself a meal.
His eyes then focus on the source of the scratching noise. A fox, scratching at the dirt on the ground, probably looking for a meal.
If it were anything but a fox, Schuit would have shot it, but he's always had a soft spot for those damn animals.
He sighs and stands up, the fox goes running on instinct. Schuit turns and continues walking into Manhattan.

As Schuit walks a few streets into Manhattan, he sees a few buildings with metal gates, all of which have had their glass broken ages ago, he noticed none of them have actually been entered, due to the gates.
"If nobody's gotten in there, then I should be able to find something of use inside." He says to himself.
He walks up to one of the shops, and pulls out his sword. Using the pommel, he begins bashing at the lock, but to no use.
He quickly looks behind him to see if anyone is watching, but didn't catch anyone sneaking up on him. He then begins to look for a pry bar to break the lock with.

Frankie was leaving the apartment complex when a huge gust of wind caught him off guard. "Where did that come from?" Shrugging it off, Frankie continued to head forward. After walking for a while Frankie came across a small cluster of gated buildings. He wasn't sure whether he had scouted this area before so he had no idea what to expect around here.

About an hour had passed and he didn't notice anything. He decides to continue working on the last few buildings that where down the street more, and he found an opened gate. Frankie approached the area and it looked as if it had been recently moved."What the hell?" he says. Looking down he saw a bent pry bar that was probably used to open the lock."I wonder if anyone's in here."Feeling hopeful, Frankie entered the building.

Schuit Was now inside the old shop. It was once an antique shop, which most likely meant no food. But he looked through the store anyways. He saw loads of jewelry, which was useless now, of course that didn't stop him from pocketing a diamond ring, it'd be nice to have something that was once worth something. He the strolled over to the gun area. Unfortunately the owner must have taken all of them when he left, because it was barren. He did find a few perfectly balanced throwing daggers, which he left. He'd never had much experience with throwing knives.
Just as he was about to shatter a glass case containing pocket knives and hatchets, the small bell above the door ringed. Schuit instantly pressed himself up against one of the shelves and silently drew his sword. If he could avoid a fight, he would, but no reason to be careless.
He stalked his newly arrived guest silently.

Entering the small building, looking inside it was clear to see that Frankie was now at an Antique Shop. This was perfect because Frankie loved this type of stuff. Antiques are a priceless art, and Frankie appreciated that. The environment felt think though. It's as almost if someone was in here with him. Pushing that feeling aside, Frankie continued to browse through the items as if nothing was wrong. As if the world was back to normal and nothing was wrong anymore. Suddenly Frankie had heard a slight thud behind him towards the back of the room. "Alright, come on out now." Frankie waited and he hadn't seen anyone. He knew there was someone in the store now though. He started for the back of the store to investigate further.

Schuit could tell the man was suspicious upon entering the building, He most likely followed schuit inside, or heard the metal grate open. But he didn't seem aggressive, so he decided he might make contact. Before he could say anything, they both heard a thud from the back of the room, followed by "Alright, come on out now."
Schuit watched the man walk towards the back of the room, and decided now was the best time to make contact.
"It's likely nothing back there, the only people in here are us two, this place has been abandoned for years." Schuit Told the man as he sheathed his sword.
"I'm Schuit."

Frankie was nearing the back of the store when he heard a voice. A deep voice coming from behind him. Turning around he saw this guy. A guy covering half his face with arrows poking from behind him. "It's likely nothing back there, the only people in here are us two, this place has been abandoned for years." The guy had said. "I'm Schuit." He introduced himself. Well this is odd. I wonder how long he's been watching me. He thought as he stared at the guy for a while deciding if he should fight him or not. He looked ready to fight, seeing his hand was near his sword. He's probably the only guy I'll encounter for a while, so I'll play nice. Taking a final look at the guy, Frankie decided to speak up."Hey man. I'm Frankie," He started as he leaned on one of the counters."Nice to meet you Schuit. So, have you been spying on me?" He asked.

[Sorry I haven't been posting, RPG has been fucking with me and not letting me on -_-]

Mark walked the misty streets silently. He came across the gated area. 'That looks like a lot of noise' he thought to himself.
He didn't really want to risk moving all the gates and creating lots of noise. 'Maybe Ill just take a stroll around this little area... make sure there isn't anyone here before I go pushing gates around' Mark thought and nodded to himself. He resumed his walking, just strolling around the area. Some of the gates were open, those were stores he inspected. But not for very long.
He came across another shop with its gates open; an antique shop. 'What business would I have going in THAT?' Mark thought. 'There wouldn't be any food in there, I don't need to steal anything for money'
Mark decided he would stick around this shop though. He sat in front of the antique shop, and went through his backpack.
He thought he heard something inside the antique shop but, didn't take any mind to it.

{Same here, I think its just an over all issue with the site from all the traffic. Its ticking me off though. Sorry if the tags are all messed up or not there at all, along with it taking like a billion hours to post this I'm also dealing with error 502 every few minutes. UGH}

Kate considers herself lucky when the noise dies down and she's left once more in the silence and the fog. Nothing beside the sound of her shoes clicking against the pavement and her own breathing to fill the void. She edges closer to a clustering of gated shops. She only walks a few steps further before her senses kick in to tell her something is slightly off. She peers ahead of her through the mist and notices a human shape. Far enough she can't make out the persons features but still close enough that she has no time time to mask her presence. She wonders if he was the source of the noise.

'Just my luck,' and it certainly is just her luck, to find another person here who may or may not be dangerous to her. Out of the fire and into the frying pan as they say. But Kate has speed on her side if the person tries anything, and it wouldn't hurt to figure out some sense of this place. She doesn't bother with hiding her presence, there's no use in it when she doesn't have the time.

Kate narrows her eyes as she approaches, wiping away the gathering sweat on her forehead. She considers running, knows its what she should be doing. She certainly won't give this person the benefit of the doubt either. Kate keeps her knife handy as she edges closer. As she gets within a comfortable speaking distance she stops, far enough that if she did decide she needed to run she would have a good start. "You friendly?" Kate snorts, a mildly aggressive edge to her tone. Her knife is hanging loosely in her hand, but within sight - a silent threat that if the man tries anything stupid he'll regret it.

Before Schuit could answer, Frankie had heard a few voices outside the shop."Hey don't speak," Frankie shushed."I think there's people outside the shop. They don't look threatening." Deducing from the two people standing outside, they seemed interested in entering the shop. Meaning that sooner or later they would have to meet regardless of what Frankie would do."Hey, I'm going to go introduce myself to them alright? You can come with me, or you can do you, either way it was nice to meet you." Taking a few breaths, Frankie opened the door to the shop, triggering the sound of the rusted bell on the door. That got their attention.

Walking out of the door was possibly a bad idea, especially because the man seemed strongly on the defensive. Not wasting an opportunity, Frankie drew his hammer from his back, covering his front side in case the man decided to shoot him anyway. The hammer may be bulky, but the amount of damage it can inflict when made contact is phenomenal; it made for a killer defense for a one on one. Frankie wasn't very worried, and seeing as he wanted no harm, it was easy for him to keep his cool and answer the man's questions."Hey man chill. My name is Frankie, and no I'm not alone. I just met someone in there and I'm not sure if he's coming out anytime soon. I wouldn't worry about him too much though, he's nice!" Answering the man was easy. Making sure he dropped his weapon was a little difficult."As for your final question, no I'm not hostile. I can be however if you don't drop your weapon. I'm not really looking for a fight, I'm just looking for people to see what's going on around here." Answering truthfully, Frankie wasn't really worried. He propped his hammer on his back again to show the man that he meant what he had said."Now it's my turn to ask a few questions," Frankie started wanting to know more about this man."First, who are you and what brings you here? Two, who was that woman? Was she with you? Three, is there more of you out here?" Frankie fired out this questions in the hopes that the man would be kind enought to answer.
