Tyr Landvik

"No need to be so serious, have some fun for once!"

0 · 245 views · located in Post-apocalyptic Earth

a character in “Primal Instinct”, as played by TristisNox

Description

Name:
Tyr Landvik

Gender:
Male

Age:
31, I grew up in the war and even fought in it

Companion's Name:
Sif

Companion's Genders:
Female

What species are you the guardian of?
Caracal (Desert feline)

Description:
I am 6'1" and basically all muscle. I'm not huge, I am no bear, but I'm not a scrawny little thing that can be taken down. If a fight comes my way, I can hold my own and often I win. My hair it a light sandy blonde that falls in my face and goes just above my shoulders. I try to shave my beard because that shit's annoying, but at the moment I've got a bit of stubble peppering my chin. My once dark eyes lightened up since radiation claimed this world as its own and now my irises are a gold color. It was weird at first, but I've grown used to them over the decades.
Unlike my brethren, I have regular human nails that I occasionally cut so I don't jab myself and a bit of a crooked nose from the time I fought in the war. Light silver scars spatter my body and make me look pretty badass. I can be found in light linen pants and shirt (when it's hot, which I prefer) or leather britches, a long sleeved heavy shirt, boots lined with fur, and a coat for anything lower than 65 degrees F. I carry three knives with me at all times and am learned in the way of hand to hand combat.

Personality:
On the surface I'm a person that seems to take nothing seriously. I goof off, joke, seem to always be in a good mood, and most of all never really think any of my actions or thoughts through. If I think something sounds like a good or fun idea I will do it without thinking of the consequences. I have seen and experienced too much to be hesitant in my life. This often rubs other guardians and animals the wrong way, but I don't particularly care. Some creatures and guardians have called me childish.
Underneath that good nature and fun loving exterior, I am a very caring person (not that I'd admit it out loud). Some (like a few Caracal I know) would even go so far as to call me fatherly. I willingly watch over young and make sure they are okay. If I'm feeling especially caring, I watch over anyone who is with me no matter if they are an adult or not. I want others safe and will risk my own life (sometimes making it look like I have yet again not thought anything through) to protect the other creature. I am loyal and trustworthy, but once you break my trust you are no longer worthy of it. No matter how hard you try, I will never trust you again.

Likes:
Meat, Lore and Myths, Running, Stalking, Being Free, Having a Good Time

Dislikes:
Cold weather, Boredom, Serious People, Being Scolded, Back-stabbers

History:
In the sixth year of the war I was born. My parents had managed to stay out of it and lived relatively peaceful lives. I had heard about it, but never had to experience it. Everything was peaceful on our private secluded farm. That is until the war came to us and tore my family apart; quite literally. I was ten when my mother was killed before my eyes and twelve when my father disappeared in the middle of the night. Left alone, I managed to survive and met up with some mercenaries who taught me how to fight. They were a rowdy bunch, but they became my family. My sadness over the loss of my mother and abandonment of my father began to heal and I was able to function normally again.
I was seventeen when my life changed again. We were in a desert like area when a large bomb went off. I nearly died, most of my friends did. I was saved by a female Caracal that had recently lost her kittens. Her and the male Caracal cared for me, they took me in as their own. From them I relearned everything, from walking again to hunting. During my time with them I began to change. I didn't notice at first but a year later I realized my hair was much lighter (though that could have been due to the sun bleaching it) and so were my eyes. The once green/brown were now a golden color. I also had a bond with this feline species that went far deeper than a pair taking care of me. A strong desire to care for any and all Caracal was branded in me so I could not turn any away. An added bonus that I discovered since being almost fatally wounded was the gifts I had acquired. My eye sight was far superior during the night than during the day (sun is too bright), I am faster than regular humans, and I can jump over seven feet high.
I stayed and defended my foster family's territory until the end of the war. A year and a half after the war ended I decided to move on. I thanked my foster parents for caring for me and then moved on. I stayed in the desert areas for a while, but eventually grew too curious about the other parts of the world. I had not seen it since the war ended and found the desire to explore. As a lonely traveler I met many creatures that were far more evolved than they once were and found that humans were virtually extinct except a select few known as guardians. It was a sad realization, but one I did not dwell on. To this day I still guard over my species of felines the best I can. I have recently come across an orphaned kitten to which I have taken in and began to father.

Sif

Species:
Caracal

Gender:
Female

Age:
Two months

Personality:
It is hard to say who Sif really is, but at this point she is curious, playful, and energetic. She doesn't think her actions through, but what do you expect from a kitten so new to the world? She tests Tyr's patience with always pushing her limits, but he does not mind too much. She can be shy, but overall her curiosity overpowers her shyness. At the moment she has a bad habit of biting everything she can or running her newly discovered claws down things.

Evie
"Any moment." Evie replied still staring out the mouth of the cave as Snowy woke and went to Bunny. She only looked away when she heard a noise behind her. A new passage way opened revealing a deep tunnel. Soel turned to the others. "Please travel deeper into the cave... There are enough caverns for each species to have their own..." He disappeared through the entrance calling behind him, "This part of the cavern was a fake home we created to hide our real ones... Please watch your step..." A prickling feeling came over Evie causing her to look back out. Nothing.
Looking up she called, "Rowan?" The bird flew down and perched on her shoulder. "Is there anything or anyone out there?" The bird flew out and returned shortly after. He cried a no. "Thank you. Come let us not fall to far behind." Never one to rush, Evie followed behind the others listening to the patter of their feet softly echoing through the tunnel. She didn't make it far before Sindri turned with a growl and bolted back where they came from. "Sindri!" She cried throwing up her hood and running after her friend. She skidded to a halt just behind the wolf who growled menacingly at a soaked hooded figure. He was tall, quite a few inches towering over her if she stood next to him. His clothes were thicker than the temperature demanded and looked like they were sobbing with tears falling uncontrollably to the ground. The man threw his hood back with a splat revealing light blonde hair and mischievous golden eyes. Mouth dropping nearly to the floor, Evie breathed, "Tyr?"

Tyr
Just wonderful. Tyr thought as rain began pouring down on him. He flipped up his hood to shield as much of himself as possible but knowing it was all for naught. He trudged through the muddy grass until he came across a cave that could shelter him until the end of the storm. It was going to be brutal.
Once at the entrance a scent of wolves, birds, rabbits, and foxes hit his nose and he debated going it. Clearly it was something or someone's den. What the hell? The worse that could happen is I run for my life. He stepped in to find the cave empty. Interesting, the scent is too fresh to be abandoned long ago... Where are the inhabitants? He hoped the owners of the den didn't randomly show up and trap him inside. Things could get awkward and dangerous fast. Then again his charming personality could probably woo them over. He chuckled to himself until a wolf's growl caught his ears and it appeared before him like Cerberus out of the Underworld. Found 'em. Seconds later a familiar human dressed as a life sized Raven skidded to a halt behind the wolf that still bared its teeth at him. Flicking back his hood he grinned at his sorta friend. "Tyr?" The woman asked with shock coloring Her voice.
"Raven Queen! How yeah been?" He laughed knowing that she was glaring daggers at him.

Soel heard the chaos outside. He sighed and sent Axis and Axel. "Just don't hurt anyone... If it's a newcomer then tell him to fight later... The storm is coming..." The little twin foxes nodded and ran out to greet the newcomer. Once they reached the entrance, Axel and Axis realized that Evie knew the man. So they walked over and nuzzled Evie, to show the man that they meant no harm. Then the twin foxes pounced a little closer to the man to get his attention and ran back into the tunnel. That way the newcomer would know to follow. Axis and Axel lead Evie and the stranger to Soel. Soel was sitting in the grass reading a book. He looked up and smiled at them mischievously. "Hello... So you were the one lurking nearby..." Soel stood and, oddly enough being just as tall as the stranger, stared him directly in his eyes. "I implore you to stay... The storm will be a fierce one... But harm any living thing here, and I will kill you..." He smiled in a friendly way, but it didn't reach his eyes. Those silver eyes that only expressed a cold emptiness and a beauty that no one living thing should possess. They carried a warning. 'Hurt my friends, and you'll be dead before your next breath can even be drawn...' Axel and Axis sat on either side of Soel's feet, while Jasper and Shadow eyed the man menacingly. Soel's mood suddenly lightened brilliantly. He showed the newcomer a real smile. "Now that that's out of the way, why don't you get dried off and choose a cavern..." Axis tackled Axel and they began rolling around and rough housing. Soel raised an eyebrow at Jasper and Shadow. Then he turned to Evie and noticed what he hadn't earlier. Her clothes had a few tears in them. Soel smiled and placed a hand on her shoulder. "I suggest letting Snowy take a look at your clothes... He can fix them no problem!"

Evie
She knew Tyr was teasing her. He always teased and called her strange names. "I am no Raven Queen." She crossed her arms in dismay only causing the man to chuckled harder. Axis and a silver fox that looked identical to him scampered in and then nuzzled her. Her tense body relax as she smiled down at the foxes. Then they pounced closer to Tyr and ran off in a 'Come follow' manner.
"Come, Soel probably wants to meet you." She turned and with her companions following close by began following the brothers. Tyr quickly caught up slightly shivering from the cold. Her eyes looked up at the man she knew but wasn't sure she liked. "Do you have dry clothes?"
"I do." His teeth chattered a little. "But they're in my pack and not suitable for this weather." She nodded before standing before Soel who was reading a book with two foxes who did not appear pleased to see them. The young man greeted and warned Tyr all in one swift introduction. With his usual good nature self, Tyr nodded with grin. Changing back to being friendly, Soel looked at Evie and said, "I suggest letting Snowy take a look at your clothes... He can fix them no problem!"
Evie nodded, "I will thank you. I shall leave you to your reading."

Tyr
When Soel greeted and threatened him Tyr decided he liked this young man. "Not plannin' on startin' any trouble. Just lookin' for a dry place to wait out the storm." He grinned. "Thanks for the hospitality." He wondered curiously who this Snowy fella was. Snowy was a weird name but then again who the hell calls their kid Tyr?
"Valkyrie, wait for me?" He called when Evie suddenly turned to leave. He let out a laugh when she half turned to glare at him, but did not slow for him. He was shooed off when she turned to enter the tunnel that Snowy lived in. A scent of rabbits hit his nose causing him to slightly salivate. Although hare sounded delicious he knew better than to hunt that species while in the presence of a rabbit guardian. That was rude.
Finding a tunnel that seemed to be a little warmer than others and had more of a jungle feel to it, Tyr claimed it as his own for the night. His chest mewed informing him that his precious cargo had finally woken. Unlacing the top of his shirt he reached into his shirt and pulled out a Caracal kitten. She was a little wet, but definitively dryer than anything else on him. "Good morning sweatheart." He all but purred lowly. "Let's get some fire wood, dry my clothes, and find dinner." Carrying the kitten in his hand he found a nice place to build a fire. He put Sif down, found firewood, lit a fire, and started stripping. While Sif ran around like the ball of energy she was, Tyr changed into his lighter pair of clothes that were more for desert environments than a cave.

Evie
She found Snowy reading in a blanket of white flowers that made the ground look as though it was covered in snow. His tunnel was beautiful if not a little cold for her liking. She didn't mind too much however because it wasn't too bad. Snowy caught her scent, smiled and put his book down. "H-hi big sister!" She couldn't help but smile at his words and easily let him guide her inside. They sat in the field of flowers with three hares, two of which she had never seen before. "B-Brother already told m-me that you w-were coming... W-Where did your clothes get torn?"
"I have a few holes in my shirt and pants from when I tumbled. My cloak seems fine although missing a few feathers." She took off her cloak to make sure there really weren't any tears. There weren't. Two of the hares hopped over to her and sniffed her gently. "Hello beautifuls. What are your names?" Evie slowly reached out and stroked their soft heads. While she talked with Snowy, Rowan swooped down and hopped over to investigate the hares that had taken an interest in Evie. Sindri wasn't ready to settle down and decided to investigate the cave a little. He didn't wander too far, but he wanted to scent everything he could about the new place.

Tyr
He was in the middle of slipping on his shirt when he heard a yip behind him. Turning he found a fox waiting for him with some clothes that looked heavier than the ones he was planning on wearing. She didn't look thrilled at being there but waited patiently for him to do something. "Thank you, Beautiful Vixen. You have saved me from possible getting a cold." He grinned at the fox as he swiftly took the folded clothes before Sif could get her claws into them. She had recently discovered she had some and was using them quite frequently on everything.
Quickly shedding his shirt, he changed into the new pair. He was grateful to the fox man, but his nose wrinkled at the man's scent. Sif won't be thrilled that I don't smell like me. I'll cover his scent later. A fluttering motion caught his eye; a piece of paper. He picked it up and read it:
I know that you plan to leave. But at least know that you are welcome to join our strange, yet wonderful family.
~ Soel, the Silver Fox Guardian

Join them? His fingers drummed against his lips as he thought about the offer. It had been awhile since it wasn't just him or him and his kitten. His eyes shifted to Sif who was playing with the sticks he had gathered. She was making a mess, but he couldn't help but chuckle. Why not, it'll be good for her to interact with other species and I have been missing some social interaction.
He addressed the fox that still waited patiently. "Beautiful Vixen, you may leave of you wish but if you could inform Soel that I will gladly stay with you all for a while although I will probably end up leaving eventually. We Caracals are solitary creatures you understand."

Shadow seemed to role her delicate eyes at the caracal, as if saying 'So are we, stupid. But everyone needs a family and a home.' She noticed the kitten and felt her mothering urge pick up again. She noticed that the kitten hadn't had an actual bath in a long time, so she went over and introduced herself before giving the kitten a tongue bath. Then she curled around the kitten to keep it warm. Even though she was usually vicious towards everyone, Shadow had a soft spot for children and the wounded.

Soel smiled slightly as Sirene kissed his jaw. Just as he began to relax, a small wolf pup jumped up on him to give him kisses as well. Soel smiled and laughed. Soon enough, he was playing with the baby wolves and his foxes. After he finished playing with them, Soel decided to go check up on the others. But first, he wanted to make sure that the newcomer had gotten settled in. He walked through the tunnels until he reached Tyr's cavern. Upon entering, he noticed Shadow and chuckled. "It's good to see you've found a friend..." He said smiling. Soel walked over to Tyr. "I don't believe I caught your name..." Soel's voice had a smooth, soft sound. It should've made him sound weak, but instead it seemed to make him more powerful. It had a hypnotic ring to it, but was also calming, to the point that it could put many at ease and get them to listen to whatever he had to say with a single word. Soel's pretty silver eyes and soft white hair made him look more like a fox than a human, and his eyes held an ever present mischievous glimmer.

Snowy nodded gently and began finding and stitching up the tears. He then introduced the younger hares. "Th-The one w-with gray on his face is Astral... A-And the one w-with a pure w-white face is Gypsy... Y-You already know Bunny..." Bunny hopped out of Snowy's lap and herded Sindri over to the group by gently butting his legs with her head. There was to be no wandering around her cavern. Gypsy hopped over and jumped into Snowy's lap, while Astral ran circles around Rowan. Astral was incredibly energetic and fast due to his powerful legs.

Evie
"They are strong and beautiful." Evie complimented before her eyes followed Bunny. He easily herded Sindri back to where everyone else was. The wolf huffed, but didn't really complain for this wasn't his territory. The wolf wandered to where Snowy was fixing Evie's clothes. He stuck his nose where Snowy had recently finished closing one. It smelled funny since the young rabbit was the one to sew it, but he really couldn't complain since they were now allies. Once satisfied, he laid now next to Evie pressing his back to her thigh. She smiled and started stoking his side. "Where did you learn to sew so well?" Evie inquired. "I am quite terrible at it. I look as though I had the shakes when I was closing the tear."
Rowan watched the hare run circles aorund him for a little while before decided he wanted to check something out. Letting out a squawk, he took to the air and disappeared from Snowy's cave.

Tyr
Tyr would know the look the fox gave him anywhere. He had seen it on multiple occasions with his foster parents and then the different Caracals he had stayed with. Home. It was a word he could never associate with himself. He felt as though he was destined to be a vagabond for the rest of his days. To look after his species, but never have what they had; a family and territory.
His eyes went to where the Vixen now curled around Sif to keep her warm. Even Sif would one day leave him. When she grew to be an adult she would leave to claim a territory for herself, find a tentative mate, have a litter of her own, and repeat. Except for teaching her how to survive in the wild and then eventually watch over her as a Guardian, he would one day lose her. Home and a permanent family was never for him and he has slowly come to accept that.
While lost in thought a familiar scent hit his nose, he turned to find Soel walking towards him. "It's good to see you've found a friend..." Soel said smiling at the fox who was mothering Tyr's kitten. "I don't believe I caught your name..." Soel's voice had a smooth, soft sound. Tyr mused in his head how the Fox Guardian's voice should have sounded weak but did quite the opposite. The older man was trying not to be lulled by it, he had learned the hard way that voices can be deceiving.
With a grin, Tyr nodded, "Tyr Landvik, Guardian of the Caracals. Thank you for the clothes and hospitality, if it was just Val-Evie she probably would have thrown me out." He laughed at how annoyed he always made the young Raven feel. "I think I'll stay with this band of Guardians for a while. I haven't met any in years and Sif," He pointed his thumb at the kitten snuggling up to the female fox. "Could use some inter-species socializing." His attention was distracted when he heard flapping of wings. "Rowan my old friend." He greeted the Raven. Out of the trio Rowan was the one to show him the most friendliness.
The raven flew to a nearby branch and perched. As always silently watching.

Snowy finished repairing the last tear and smiled up at her. Every last tear, even the ones that Evie had no idea about, were sewn shut perfectly. It was like it had never torn. "W-Well... B-Big brother always got his clothes all torn up... A-And he can't sew... S-So he always looked all m-messy... A-And it bugged m-me... S-So I read some books on it..." Snowy blushed and hid his face in embarrassment. "I-I'm sorry...! I-I know I'm a boy... B-But... I-I prefer girly things...W-Which is w-why I w-wear dresses and know about hair and m-makeup and stuff..."

Soel smiled. "I'm glad to hear it... You know, I used to be a lot like you..." He sat down on a nearby rock and rested his chin on his hand. The gesture seemed both bored and alert. He smiled a little softer. "Twelve years ago, when I was seven, my parents both died in the war... After that, I had to fend for myself... I always thought that I'd be fine on my own... I was better off that way..." Soel looked directly into Tyr's eyes with his knowing ones. "That I would never associate with the words 'home' and 'family.' A part of me didn't think I deserved it..." Soel seemed to smile at a thought, but it was only there for a glimpse of time. "Even after I found my four foxes, I thought that way for a long time..." Soel looked up at Tyr once more. "But then, on the night the war ended... I found a woman in the forest... She had just given birth to a little boy and she was dying..." Soel looked at his open hand. "Despite my best efforts, I was only fourteen, and lacked the knowledge to save her... But I promised her that I would raise the child..." Soel smiled at Tyr. "That boy, is Snowy. The Guardian of the Arctic Hare... And no matter how many flaws I make... Even after a journey kept me from him for two years... He still loves me and refuses to leave..." Soel stood and walked over, placing a steady hand on Tyr's shoulder. "That miracle child is now my brother... And I now know what 'family' truly means... Which is why I can't let you suffer on your own... Because I've been there... And no matter how long it takes... I won't let you give up on yourself like I had..." Soel's usual playful expression had turned serious. He looked much more like the adult he was, and it was obvious that he only spoke the truth.

Evie
"You have done a marvelous job, you would think there were never any tears." Evie looked the garments over in surprise. "Thank you very much." When Snowy blushed and started rambling about being sorry about liking girly things she frowned. "It is fine if you like those things. I do not think it strange you do." Then she cocked her head in thought. "Perhaps one day you could show me how to do hair, I have never learned. All I know how to do really is brush, wash, and cut it. Although I tend to make my hair uneven when I do." She reached out and stroked his soft hair. "If anyone teases you about it send them my way or one of my companions, we will teach them a thing or two about teasing you." She winked before standing. She easily slipped on her clothes and looked down at her young friend. "What would you like to do?"

Tyr
The man's speech hit him harder than he thought. Tyr really wasn't one for self pity or deprecation, but he always thought he would be alone. He didn't let it show though how the words affected him, rather he gave the young man a lazy smile. "Thanks, at lease someones looking out for me I guess." He stretched his arms a little, he wasn't used to just sitting around. "But even so I think I have a few more years of penance to do before any higher being is willing to forgive the things I've done." His body shifted to a more fluid feline predator demeanor. He gave a Cheshire cat grin with his eyes narrowing slightly and focusing solely on Soel. "You must remember Fox Guardian I am old...er. I knew the world before it was poisoned with radiation. Before I was the Caracal Guardian I helped mold this world into what it is now. I have slaughtered man and animal, in turn I have seen my adopted human family and animals I cared for slaughtered before my eyes. I have experienced and done cruel acts that perhaps even you can't imagine.
"Perhaps not having a home is what nature requires of me for being the monster I was in my youth." In a blink of an eye, Tyr was back to his usual teasing good natured self. "But what do I know, I'm not one of the Fates. Perhaps I just move around too much and am too nocturnal to even think about claiming a territory for myself or finding a nice lass to settle down with. Or perhaps I bonded with my species because the males wander and only mate when the female is in heat. This world may never know or for that matter this Guardian." A thought suddenly came to him and he frowned, "Have you met many Guardians before? I haven't and there seems to be an awful lot of Guardians in this cave..." If he had fur it would have stood up on his neck. "Perhaps Nature has something in store for us..."
Shaking off the strange feeling he grinned happily, "So what's up with everyone? How'd everyone meet? And more importantly, "He leaned in towards Soel, "How the hell did you get Valkyrie to like you? She dislikes me for some reason and now it's bothering me."

Soel smiled sadly with understanding. "And you think I haven't? I lived through the majority of the war... There were times where I had to murder... To steal... E-Even..." A small shudder ran through him at having to seduce men for money. It was horrible having to get used like that to survive. He clenched his fists and took a deep, shaky breath, warding off the memory. Then his eyes cleared and he continued. "Nature has nothing in store for us other than living... When I first found this underground cave... It was through a dream... And it only had one cavern perfectly suited to me... When I found Snowy, another cavern appeared perfectly suited for him..." Soel smiled softly. "Other than Snowy, Evie, Sirene, and yourself, I've only met one other... Sorry..." Soel was obviously faking his smile. He hated talking about the war. It brought him too much pain. "Excuse me... I'm not feeling the best..." Soel left the cavern and went back to his. He didn't even greet his foxes, just curled up in his den and shook from the fear that the memories brought with them. His four foxes refused to let anyone into the cavern, and growled menacingly at anyone who tried to enter.

Snowy's eyes widened suddenly. "B-Big brother is still traumatized... I-I guess it can't be helped..." The atmosphere had turned incredibly dark with fear and sadness. "H-He gets set off once in awhile... S-Sometimes it's completely random, other times someone says something... B-But it's never that person's fault... B-Big brother doesn't see it that w-way..." Snowy smiles gently, but he, too, is worried about Soel. "Th-The foxes w-won't let anyone into his cavern w-while he's like this... Th-They'll attack anyone w-who tries... I-It's best to let him be..."

Evie
Evie frowned. Soel was traumatized to the point that his cave was off limits? She didn't like the sudden shift in the atmosphere, but knew it was bound to happen eventually. They all, or she assumed, had a dark past that haunted them. Even she had memories and experiences she wished would be wiped from her memory. They were a constant reminder of what He had done to Evie and how she had done nothing to stop it. Some nights she would wake with the scars on her back burning, reminding her of his cruelty. A week would go by before she was able to sleep a full night again. It was exhausting remembering the past.
Pursing her lips she thought of what to do or say with her eyes cast towards the exit of Snowy's dwelling. "Is there anything you do to cheer him up after he has one of his episodes?" She asked. Sindri and Rowan always found ways to try and distract her from the nightmares that tormented her during that week. They would run for hours, climb impossibly tall cliffs, and really anything to pull her from the past and into the present. On rare occasions they would find an orphaned or hurt animal to care for until it was ready to be independent. Those were always the best times for it reminded her that she was nothing like him.

Tyr
Well shit. Tyr cursed, scratching his head. He watched as Soel gave a fake smile and retreat to his corner of the mystical cave. Tyr honestly didn't mean to bring up any bad memories, but somehow it always came up and unless you were young like Snowy you were going to have some dark memories of the war. It wasn't called Tempus Tenebrarum for nothing. Rowan cried out causing the Guardian to look up. "Yeah, yeah I know I f***ed up. Stop judging me, I'm doing that enough as it is." He glared at the bird not because he was mad at it but because he was angry with himself. Not one to take unjust hostility, Rowan dive bombed Tyr just missing his face. "Shit, Rowan! I get it, I'm sorry." He rolled his eyes with a grin, "You're just like, the Raven Queen." Rowan puffed up with pride as he settled back on his branch.
His grin quickly slipped from his face when his mind went back to Soel. He should really apologize, what he did and said wasn't fair to the younger man. He was being nice and Tyr shouldn't have tried to stiff arm him away. He looked over at Shadow. "If you don't mind, please pass on to Soel that I'm sorry for bringing up the war. I didn't mean to bring up such bad memories." He scratched his under his chin where hair was beginning to grow thicker. "I'll go and talk to him when he's ready." He turned back towards the exit to his part of the cave with a sigh. He really sucked at being an adult and interacting with other people. He should work on that...

Shadow growled and nipped him so Tyr knew that it was a stupid idea to apologize. She sat with her back turned to him, as if saying that he needed to stop blaming himself for things that obviously weren't his fault. As Shadow turned to glare at him, it became evident that Soel hated it when people apologized for pointless reasons. Then Shadow snarled and chased Rowan out of the room, scolding him harshly as well. Shadow then scampered back to check on Snowy.

Snowy giggled. "D-Do you really think he, of all people, w-would accept help...? M-More like run from it... H-He doesn't w-want cheered up... H-He doesn't w-want to forget... B-Because his blackened past m-made him w-who he is..." Snow paused and thought about it while stroking Gypsy's fur. "H-He doesn't w-want to be reminded either, of course..." Snowy smiled at Shadow. "H-Hi Shadow...! I-I take it you scolded Tyr properly...? B-Big brother hates it w-when people assume it's their fault..." Snow noticed that Shadow was growling at Rowan. "O-Oh, I see..." Snowy gave Rowan a stern look, but it ended up looking more adorable. "B-Big brother also doesn't like it w-when people step out of line... I-It w-wasn't your place to scold Tyr, nor should you have... F-For Tyr did nothing w-wrong..."

Soel stayed in his den. Shaking. Remembering. Fearing. He curled up on the padded floor and held his head, trying to get the memories to disappear. He refused to run from his past, but he didn't want to remember it either. Axis and Axel growled menacingly at anyone who tried to enter the cavern, and blocked all sources of entry. Jasper curled up next to Soel to comfort him.

Evie
"Just because we want to cheer him up or support him does not mean we want Soel to forget." Evie smiled gently at the young boy before turning to see Rowan flying in with Shadow. What has Tyr done now? She shook her head listening to Snowy talk to Shadow. Rowan perched on her shoulder grumbling only the way birds know how to. She stroked his sleek feather and chuckled as the bird was apparently once again scolded. "You should be kinder my friend." Rowan started squawking at her in annoyance.
"He wishes to clear up that he was not... scolding Tyr because of how he was acting but because he was glaring at Rowan for no reason other than he was angry with himself. He apologizes for the misunderstanding." Satisfied with the explanation, Rowan flew high up and left in search for a place for his Unkindness to stay the night. "I suggest we leave Tyr alone for a little while for although Shadow has probably made it clear it was not his fault, he will not want to see anyone right now. Not unlike Soel, Tyr has some darkness in his past that haunts him to." She started playing with the leather cord around her neck absentmindedly. "I do not know what they are, but he was a part of the war long before any of us were born." Having spent two short bouts with him, Evie knew a few things about the older man most probably did not. She would not call them friends but a few times he had shaken her awake from one of her nightmares and once she witnessed one of his.

Tyr
"Hey!" Tyr flinched out of the way reflexively when Shadow nipped at him. He rolled his eyes and turned to the kitten that now ran at him. "Alright you." He crouched down only to be 'pounced' on by Sif. "That was beautifully done, Sif. Good job! Let's go find something to eat." He listened as Shadow chased Rowan away with a grin. Ha, that's what you get for attacking me. He placed Sif back on the ground and started deeper into the cave in search for anything that could feed him and a growing kitten. When he found a doe (thing), he quieted Sif and directed her towards the prey. Sif being only two months old didn't quiet understand patients and sprung forward. Tyr chuckled to himself as the deer ran away and the Caracal tried to chase after it. He kept tabs on where the animal ran off to and praised the kitten for her efforts. The next time they found their meal, he made a quiet sound so Sif would wait and watch. At the right moment, he shot up straight and hurled his knife at the deer. Unsurprisingly it ran off but was mortally wounded. The pair tracked her down and Tyr swiftly ended her life. Gutting it right then and there so he wouldn't get sick, he dragged it back to the campsite where they feasted.

Soel soon drifted into a deep sleep. His foxes no longer guarded the door. Instead, they curled up beside him.

Snowy tilted his head in confusion. "N-No... I-I m-mean that big brother doesn't like it w-when people pity him... S-So... H-He doesn't w-want anyone trying to help him... H-He says he can't get stronger unless he learns to deal with it on his own..." Snow smiled and finished what he had been sewing. He held up the dress he made to show Evie. "A-All done...!"

Evie
"Understandable." Evie replied before getting surprised by the clothes Snowy held up. "You are forever impressing me, Snowy. I could never do anything like this." She placed a hand on his shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze. "Beautiful work."

Tyr
After cleaning up the deer and letting the fire die out, Tyr decided to explore the cave more. Looking down at a lazy Sif he grinned, "Come on you, let's see if there's more to this cave than anyone knows. Or perhaps we'll run into other, we can't isolate ourselves forever." She purred and started scampering off towards the exit of their sanctuary. Knowing she wouldn't run too far ahead of him, Tyr kept his pace lazy.

Snowy giggled softly and changed into another of his dresses. This one was a white lolita dress. Since he had loosely curled, chest-length, white-hair, he put it up into pigtails. With his dress on and hair done, along with the little bit of makeup, he looked exactly like a girl. Being tall for his age due to his long legs, Snowy was about the height of a ten year old even though he was only five. He turned towards the soft sound of padded feet racing down the tunnel just in time to see a little kitten run by. Snow smiled and sat in the midst of his flowers. Then he picked up his book, 'Daughter of Smoke and Bone' by Laini Taylor. All three of his rabbits snuggled up to him.

Evie
Looking away when Snowy changed, Evie noted how beautiful the place was. It looked like a winter wonderland without the actual freeze of winter. When she looked back, Snowy was now in an adorable white lolita dress with his long hair tied up. She smiled at him before turning to see a kitten run by. Seconds later Tyr called to the cat and greeted them before sprinting away. Evie shook her head in amusement and then took a seat next to Snowy. "Would you mind reading to me?" She asked a little embarrassed. Having grown up with parents who hated her and then raised by animals she never learned to read or write. Hell, she only learned to speak because her parents (father) hated her childish babble. She looked down and began picking the flowers and fashioning them into a circle. She had at least one skill, she could make a crown of flowers.

Tyr
Tyr sighed when Sif picked up speed as she passed the rabbit area. "SIF!" He called. As he walked by the entrance that looked like a winter scene, he turned to look in. It was an interesting contrast to witness. The young boy was dressed in a white dress with his hair in pigtails easily fitting in with environment, even Sindri looked to belong. The one who stuck out was Evie, a black figure against a sea of white. He grinned and waved, "Looking good, lil Rabbit. The dress is cute." Then he turned to see Sif running faster and farther about to disappear into the shadows. "Sif! Slow down!" He shifted his weight to start sprinting towards his ward. The little feline was going to keep him young that's for sure.

Snowy giggled and blushed slightly. Then, before Tyr could even move, Snowy had already raced past him and had almost caught up with Sif. He caught her gently a few seconds later and brought her back. "S-Silly kitty..." He said softly with a smile. He gave Sif back to Tyr, then went back inside and sat next to Evie. "O-Of course...! I-I love reading to people..." He smiled adorably with his usual charismatic approach. "W-Would you like to listen too, Caracal?" Snowy said shyly, since he didn't know his name. He played with a flower gently, not looking up because he was blushing slightly. "I-I see the clothes fit good... Th-That's good... I-I only had time to m-make a rough estimate..."

Tyr
All Tyr saw was a blur of white before Snowy stood before him with Sif in his arms. "Thanks." He chuckled taking the kitten into his arms. She mewed unhappily before settling into his arms and falling asleep. He shook his head while following Snowy into the field of white flowers. Like usual he was slower to join, catching the ending to his sentence to Evie. The young woman smiled happily although like usual it was a ghost of a smile.
"W-would you like to listen too, Caracal?" Tyr looked up from his gaze at Evie and cocked his head. Oh yeah, we haven't officially met. "I-I see the clothes fit good.. Th-that's good... I-I only had time to m-make a rough estimate..."
"Yes, quite well. A little short on the legs, but nothing big. Sif would end up clawing at them anyway." He shrugged with a grin, shifting the sleeping kitten as he sat at an angle to Snowy and Evie. "She just realized she has claws." He stage whispered to the boy. In a normal voice he smiled, "I am Tyr Landvik Guardian of the Caracals, but please call me Tyr." He nodded at the young rabbit. He would have shaken Snowy's hand but he would have woken Sif in the process and that would have ended badly. As in cuts and a very angry cat with very pointy nails. "Hello Lady Valkyrie, fancy meeting you here." He teased lightly loving whenever she glared at him. It was too easy to tease her. "I would love to hear a story, what is the tale today?" Readdressing the Snow Hare Guardian.

Evie
She watched as Snowy ran at top speed out of the field. She sat up straight listening to where the young boy was going. It was only a few minutes before he returned with Tyr leisurely following behind. When Snowy plopped down, he smiled, "O-of course...! I-I love reading to people..." She smiled back at him. When he asked Tyr if he would like to listen she had to stop herself from showing how much she didn't want him to join. She listened to them talk as she continued to pick flowers and weave them into an intricate crown. She didn't look up again until Tyr greeted her in his usual Tyr fashion. "Hello Lady Valkyrie, fancy meeting you here." She glared at him without saying anything. Evie saw the laughter and mischief in his eyes knowing how much he got to her. He always made references to her, calling her the Raven Queen, Valkyrie, and on occasion Odin, and she never understood them. He of course refused to tell her, always saying he'll tell her the tales later. He never got the chance to for she always left before he could.
His attention on her was quickly drawn away when he asked what Snowy would be reading. Evie settled back again, using Sindri as a back rest. When she finished the crown she leaned over and placed it on Snowy's head before gently dropping back to listen.

Snowy smiled and giggled. "I-I know some about a god w-with the same name as you...!" He said to Tyr. He had already figured out why he called her Valkyrie. To Snow, it was obvious. But by the look on Evie's face, it remained a mystery to her. So naturally, he explained...***... "A-And of course, the Valkyries w-were..." Again, Snow went into explaining...*****... Once he finished, he began to tell tales of Odin and Thor. Eventually he began telling of Loki's mischief. As soon as he began to tell legends and stories, he ceased to stutter and his voice became smooth and a little feminine sounding. Sometime during his story-telling, Soel had snuck in and was listening as well.

I actually already know all of the tales, legends, and myths by heart,
But taking the time to write them out would take me days.
So I decided to use links.

Evie
She listened as Snowy spun tales of ancient gods and beings. He first spoke of Tyr who was a mighty warrior and apparently also a god of justice. She couldn't really see the resemblance between the god and the Guardian, but she kept quiet. Then the little rabbit spoke of the Valkyries. Unintentionally, Evie paused in weaving another crown to listen to the story of her nickname. It was interesting at first when he spoke women who went down to great battles to choose worthy fallen soldiers to fight in the final battle of Ragnarok. She frowned however, when he came to the part where they could be cruel and used malicious magic to ensure a man would be slain. She didn't think she liked the nickname anymore... not that she particularly favored it before. Snowy continued on to talk about Odin, Thor, and the mischievous god Loki.
He doesn't stutter when he tells stories... Evie observed while she listened to his smooth voice. It lulled her, hypnotizing her into comfort that she had never felt before. The trance was only broken when she felt another enter the area. She turned her head a little to see Soel sneak in. She turned her head back to listen to him finish his story.
Tyr complimented Snowy on his knowledge on the subject. He then turned to her and with a grin and mischievous eyes asked Evie her thoughts. Looking down at the flowers she held in her fingers she replied, "I am no spirit of carnage or a farrier of souls." After Tyr laughed and explained himself she looked up at Snowy and said, "The stories were intriguing to listen to, thank you for tell me them. Where did you hear them?"

Tyr
Tyr was quiet impressed with how well the young rabbit knew his Norse mythology. He only knew so much because his parents had books full of their lineage's folklore. He still had some of the books, but many had been lost during the war. That didn't stop him from memorizing everything he knew about the Norse gods and goddesses.
When Snowy started talking about the Valkyries and then Odin, he watched Evie's body language. She paused in her mindless weaving to listen to her namesake. Her face showed intrigue at first only to morph into uncertainty and some distaste for how bloodthirsty and malicious the warrior women could be. In all honesty he never associated her with the darker side of the Valkyries, he should probably explain himself now. Her face changed once again when it came to Odin, Thorn, and Loki. She leaned forward enthralled by the stories that she had never heard before. It always amazed him when he found someone such as her that knew nothing about the lore that he was such a lover of. Actually it surprised him more whenever he came across someone who did know them.
"You are a master story teller, Snowy. I couldn't have told those stories any better if I tried." He grinned approvingly at the boy. Then her rolled his head to look at Evie."What'd ya think of the stories?" He asked the Raven Guardian as he lounged on his side with Sif sleeping soundly on his ribs.
She looked down and replied, "I am no spirit of carnage or a farrier of souls."
He let out a bark of laughter, "I never thought of you as bloodthirsty, but a farrier I think you are. I have seen you walk the field of a battle to stay with those that are dying. Even when they are not the species you are guardian of. Perhaps I should stick to calling you Odin, you have a raven and wolf with you. Just need one more of each and you are the Norse father." Evie turned her head to look at Snowy with a blush lightly gracing her cheeks.

Soel smiled lovingly at Snowy. "Well done as usual Snow..." He saw the small boy grab an old computer and open it. Soel never really understood them, but Snow read up on them and was able to use it fine. Snow gave him the signal. 'So... Looks like I have to perform as well huh...?' Soel sighed. Snowy loved to sing and dance, but he always made Soel do a few songs too. The little rabbit always listened to an electronically synthesized group. He didn't quite understand how it worked, but apparently the group was made entirely from computers. Oddly enough, Snowy sounded a lot like the girl Hatsune Miku. Soel smiled. Snowy always made him play Kaito.

Snowy smiled back and grabbed his computer. Of course, Soel would perform too. He obviously didn't want to, but Snow had his ways. He opened the first song and performed by himself...

The two other guardians watched curiously as Snowy set up the computer and got ready to sing. They watched Soel comply to the rabbits wishes. Evie and Tyr exchanged looks unsure what to expect. Evie wasn't sure how she felt about the song. She thought Snowy could sing quite well, but she had never been exposed to that sort of music before. Unlike some of the other guardians and some animals who embraced the technology left behind she never did. Like the Unkindness that raised her she stayed closer to nature and never learned anything technological. She looked back at Tyr to find him enjoying himself. Unlike her, he loved technology. He remembered growing up with it. Having lights made of electricity instead of candles or a fire. He learned to use the computer and once even had a cell phone. He grinned and clapped (waking the irritated Sif) when the boy finished. He looked down and stroked his kitten, apologizing for waking her.
Although Evie couldn't tell if she like the style of music, she did enjoy the language. For the most part, easily translating the song into English in her head. Unbeknownst to everyone but her adopted family and her animal companions, she was a lover of languages. she had learned over the years some Japanese, Russian, a small amount of Spanish, and could translate Latin. She smiled at Snowy for how well he did, nodding when Tyr complimented him.

Snowy blushed at the compliments. "A-Arigato..." He smiled adorably. "Y-Your turn S-Soel..."

Soel sighed. "I'm not singing that kind of music..."

Snowy simply gave him a cute glare and kicked him, hard, in the butt, making him fall over. "Y-Yes you are!" He crossed his arms and pouted.

Soel rubbed the back of his neck. "Talk about vicious..." He mumbled. "Fine...what song?" Soel already knew the answer. Snow was a sweetheart, but he hadn't had his afternoon nap so he was easily upset.

Snow thought about it and smiled, picking the song 'Seasonal Feathers'.

"So we get to hear Soel now." Tyr grinned as Snowy called Soel out to sing next. "I can't wait to here this." He never really picked Soel to be someone who would willingly sing in front of people even if an adorable little rabbit brother pouted. People always surprised Tyr and he loved it. He loved how complicated human beings could be.
Evie's eyes swept over to where Tyr grinned. "I hope you are not being mean." His tone of voice always held a light tone, one that could be taken as either mockery or absolute intrigue. Although she hardly knew these two guardians, she still felt oddly protective of them.
"Never." He pouted, mock hurt at the implication. "I truly am looking forward to the show." She nodded and turned away from him to watch the next performance. The song was beautiful and both guardians enjoyed it. Sometime during Soel's performance Rowan entered and landed on Evie's lap.

Soel and Snow finished and Soel sighed. Snow, now rather satisfied, went and curled up in his bed and fell asleep. Soel smiled softly and lead the others out of the cavern. Once they reached his cavern, Soel headed inside. His foxes greeted him playfully.

Sorry it took me five-ever!
