Introduction
So you wish to summon the Dark Brotherhood? You wish to see someone dead? Pray, child. Pray, and let the Night Mother hear your plea.
You must perform that most profane of rituals - the Black Sacrament.
Create an effigy of the intended victim, assembled from actual body parts, including a heart, skull, bones and flesh. Encircle that effigy with candles.
The ritual itself must then commence. Proceed to stab the effigy repeatedly with a dagger rubbed with the petals of a Nightshade plant, while whispering this plea:
‘Sweet Mother, sweet Mother, send your child unto me, for the sins of the unworthy must be baptized in blood and fear.’
Then wait, child, for the Dread Father Sithis rewards the patient. You will be visited by a representative of the Dark Brotherhood. So begins a contract bound in blood.
It is the 234th year of the Fourth Era. Politics, as always, in Tamriel has changed and shifted. Grand wars have been fought, religions have changed, temples destroyed, people have been slaughtered. But even in the great Void of change and chaos, there is one constant: the Dark Brotherhood. Serving the Dread Father – Sithis- and his murderously beautiful bride, the Night Mother, it is the Dark Brotherhood who silently mold and alter the future of Tamriel. Princes, paupers and their empires have all fallen to the shadowed blades of the Night Mother’s children.
Fort the past two centuries, the Dark Brotherhood has been wrecked with destruction, riot, internal discord, and the silence of the Night Mother. It wasn’t until 4E 201, the year that Emperor Titus Mede II mysteriously passed from this realm into the Void, that the Dark Brotherhood’s fortune began to change. The Night Mother once again began to speak, this time to the first Listener in generations. The Dark Brotherhood, at the time a shadow of its former self, was reformed and renewed with the Dread Father’s greatest of blessings.
It is now 33 years later, and the newest Listener has just been chosen by the Night Mother. Once again, the Brotherhood stands at the threshold of a new era. For the past three decades, it has kept quiet in its last remaining sanctuary, in Dawnstar. It is at this snowy fortress that the Black Hand has plotted its new course. But the new Listener has decided to establish a brand new Sanctuary – one in Cyrodiil, near the great city of Kvatch. For this great undertaking, he has sent the youngest member of the Black Hand, Speaker Vivienne Culgath. A young Breton woman adopted by Nord mercernaries, Vivienne is a formidable assassin and ruthless opponent. It’s this ruthlessness that has won her spot on the Black Hand, and this ruthlessness that inspired her appointment to found a new Sanctuary.
The Night Mother has indeed blessed this endeavor, for the new Sanctuary has been blessed with an outpouring of contracts – the entire province of Cyrodiil flooding with the blood of the Black Sacrament. The very name of the Dark Brotherhood once again sends a very frozen chill down the spines of the normal man.
And you, sweet child, have been called by the Night Mother to become a part of this most cruelest of guilds. This sweet vocation has been chosen for you since birth. Yes, Sithis chose you to bring feed him more souls, and it is the Night Mother who is your true mother. Now, you await your true birth into this dark family. Perhaps it was a distant friend, or an obnoxious neighbor, or a bitter rival. More than likely, it was a pure stranger. Regardless of who and when, or why, you have taken the life of another in cold blood. It is this murder that has made you a murderer, no mere thief or bandit. And it is this murder that has blessed you – this blood that has baptized you. The Night Mother waits to offer you her cold, loving embrace. It is your destiny. Hail Sithis.

You have been invited into the Dark Brotherhood. And it is a wonderful time to be a brother. Players will mantle the role of a dark brotherhood assassin – an elite, deadly murderer whose soul has been sworn to the Night Mother. As an assassin, it is your choice of method: hidden dagger, arcane mystery, ferocious axe... the choice is never clear. Regardless, the Night Mother chooses children from every background, and now she has chosen you.
Perhaps you are a brutish Orc, a lusty Argonian, a petulant Imperial... but Sithis cares not for race, only for souls. But beautiful struggle and pain is surely ahead.

Roles
-Master of the Sanctuary-
The Master of the Sanctuary is the representative of Speaker Vivienne- is their job to receive and discharge contracts, maintain the secrecy of the Sanctuary, and the training of new recruits. The Master is the Speaker’s 2nd most trusted lieutenant, and therefore the most important member of the sanctuary.
-Silencer-
The Silencer’s only master is Speaker Vivienne and the Night Mother. The Silencer speaks to no one about their special assignments from Speaker Vivienne – not even the Master is aware. It is this discretion and murky behavior that makes the Silencer a truly respectable member of the Sanctuary.
-Executioner – Male
-Executioner- Female reserved
The Executioners are the most trusted of assassins in a Sanctuary, and therefore the most feared. It is these executioners who receive the deadliest, most dangerous, and most bountiful of contracts. Their rooms are plush, secure and solitary.

The brothers and sisters of the Dark Brotherhood – murderers, slayers, eliminators and assasssins, are the rank and file of the Brotherhood, and given the vast majority of contracts. Their specialties vary and their backgrounds are diverse. They sleep together in one shared commons room.
The Five Tenets:
Tenet 1: Never dishonor the Night Mother. To do so is to invoke the Wrath of Sithis.
Tenet 2: Never betray the Dark Brotherhood or its secrets. To do so is to invoke the Wrath of Sithis.
Tenet 3: Never disobey or refuse to carry out an order from a Dark Brotherhood superior. To do so is to invoke the Wrath of Sithis.
Tenet 4: Never steal the possessions of a Dark Brother or Dark Sister. To do so is to invoke the Wrath of Sithis.
Tenet 5: Never kill a Dark Brother or Dark Sister. To do so is to invoke the Wrath of Sithis.

-Minimum 300 words per post. Literate, please.
-Certain key NPCs will be controlled per the GM. Random NPCs, such as merchants and contracts, are free to be used by any player. Please be mindful, however, that it would not be typical for a lowly murderer to receive a contract on a Jarl or an Imperial Battlemage.
-Romance is okay and encouraged. Debauchery is virtuous amongst Dark Brotherhood as long as the Five Tenets are not disturbed.
-Permadeath isn’t encouraged without ok from the GM.
-To request a reservation, post in the OOC with FC and a gist of your character idea.
-No Godmodding, Mary Sue-ing, etc. No one is the chosen one (including myself).

A Nord Woman by the name of Naigus Valerin. Originally born in Windhelm, a rough start to her life lead to her killing her own father, and she had no choice but to flee. She knew they would never stop searching for her, so she decided to flee to Cyrodiil, where she took up a job as a dockworker. She spent most of her free time in the tavern until the dark brotherhood reached out to her. She is most effective with a bow, but prefers the more formidable opponents that require the use of her Greatsword. Gonna link the FC, the pic is enormous, and I can't seem to get the resizing right.
