"You looked like somebody I had known but never met before... Could you be a monster?"
Delaney is well... not like most. Can be rather optimistic compared to others and always see's the bright side of things to be honest. Always willing to help others out in the worst of times and always coming up with useful advice. The girl isn't one of the girliest girls either as she has a rather manly side to her as she grew up with an older brother whom she has deep love for as he was... and still is her only kind of support left around. For some odd reason, she feels compulsed to remain happy in order to make others feel happy too, though inside, she is troubled and she knows it. But for some reason, her communication skills aren't that good, making her secretive and unable to express her feelings properly.
Though sometimes, she has a hidden bitter tongue and raging anger. This one isn't afraid to fight dirty at all when she needs to.
Since her brother is a cop, he supplies her with weapons, mainly firearms since well... he wants her to be safe like any brother would want their sister to be:
Well, Delaney was born 'Delaney Sophia Hale' to Mae Richards and Samuel Hale, along with older brother Austin. For them and their younger brother, life wasn't particularly easy. As as soon as Delaney was born, Mae died after childbirth and the siblings had to live with their father, who went through depression and didn't exactly make life easy for them either as during the late knights, he'd let out his stress and anger on his children and would go for Dee but sometimes, Austin would take her place, not seeing the justice in that at all.
And inside, despite the smiles she'd always have on her face, she hated it all. Him and everything. She held a grudge, one she couldn't maintain and was so disheartened by her mothers death. She didn't like the pain she was being put through because of her father. But remained close to Austin nonetheless. He was her brother and was the closest she ever had to a friend as she was normally isolated from the outside world, she couldn't smile, laugh, play. But everything else was fine, she had the necessities.
Austin was the only person the girl could rely on. But yet not trust, she didn't know why but she could never explain to him her issues, or how she felt at all. Causing tension between the two. And for a few years, he ran away. Left her to take the hard hits on her own, even worse thanks to him running away. But after a few months, just after her 13th birthday, he returned for her and they ran away, only to find that a year later on that day. He died. The flu that had spread around got to him. Though she didn't care. She thought he deserved it.
And they lived life like that. Delaney and Austin. Wondering around the streets sometimes in the grit and the dirt, scavenging for food like little animals. Though people would feed them. Luckily, by then her brother was actually eighteen, so he applied for a job, enough to get them food and save up for a place to stay and he did just that. As a cop, and she was his inspiration. He wanted to protect people, make sure they didn't end up like his sister either and it did help. Not a lot but it did a bit.
But she didn't like their way of living.
So after a day of work, this was a few years later, she was now... 16 herself and Austin was 21. They entered a bar and got a drink each to celebrate... or more to mourn over their mother's death while drinking moonshine. This was where they met Michael Johnson. They were now his allies as they got to know each other. Though Austin was a cop, he kept a promise to Michael about keeping this place a secret, if whenever they came here, he'd watchover Austin's sister when he was wondering about heck knows where.
It was her, through the times Michael struggled through said. "Because when the going get tough, heck the tough sure get going. One way or another." Everytime he had a problem. Now this was when she was happier, now she was more free. She would no longer have to stay a pessimist and see the downside of things. Though even with the smile on her face and the glint in her eyes...
The past still lingered, it still haunted her inside. But will she ever let anyone know about this?
