Gerty has long blonde hair that falls just past her shoulders. Her face is that of a baby's, soft smile and her eyes are nearly milk chocolate brown, with a tint of grey and silver. Almost like a hazel.

"I want a cookie please, warm milk too?"
Gerty is a smiling young child, always asking questions. She's curious about what life has to offer, always playful and tends to say the right thing at any given time. She's fun to be around, enjoys nature and she's smart for someone at a young age. One would think she should have been more sheltered, yet, another one would think that it was a good thing for her to be so exposed. She tends to say random things that don't make sense, or do in a different concept. She's sweet and kind hearted, fun and usually in a bright mood.
Daffodils and Daisies are her favorite flowers.
She hates wearing shoes with a passion.
She carried a small twine pulled together in a shape of a doll, with painted on eyes. It's old and looks to be ragged, but she likes it. She calls it her worry doll.
Gerty comes from a strong but broken family. Her mother and father had three children, two older boys and little Gertrude. She was the one kid that came out good, the mother was kind hearted but the boys took after their father. Gerty's brother whose name is no longer mentioned in the stories, had done a lot of wrong in his life, including hurting the girl she most looked up to. Enna Lynn. Enna was like a second mother, someone she can look up to and feel protected and well safe with her.
Her father left. The boys left as well and headed to buisness school while her mother died awhile ago, her father just disappeared.
She was sent to an orphanage. Having to leave Enna...was the worse thing she had to go through.
