"Blood is thicker than water, but the shadows are darker."
Naomi has a flirtatious attitude, it comes with her career. She’s sweet, kind hearted but she’s as dark as the shadows in every corner. She's bold. She’s got an attitude, she’s fearless and as people say “She’s as quiet as death”. That too, comes with the job. She’s funny, smart and very outspoken. Sometimes, she speaks without thinking her thoughts over. She’s quick on her feet, sharp tongue and then there are the moments where she just wants to be the baby sister. She’s got the lighter side of the personality as well. Adorable. Fun. Quirky. And she likes to tease at times.
Naomi is trained well with hand to hand combat, small daggers and knives. She keeps a long, sharp edged chain that cuts through skin with the cleanest of cuts, strapped to her cargo pants. She’s talented with hacking, keeping quiet and using the shadows to her advantage. She’s fast. Fights better than any other girl…most men. She’s especially skilled in erasing her tracks.
Oh the history. Well, this will not be started as “Once upon a time…” because usually it means it ends with “Happily ever after”.
Growing up, Naomi spent a lot of time with her brother Woo, and his friends. She never really had her own friends due to the fact her mother and father were always pestering her to learn the piano. She wasn’t too fond of the music, because it was forced upon her person. She had it tough, tougher than most girls should’ve. Everything around the age of nine just erased itself into lost memories. She was sent away to an orphanage, adopted into a different family and was exposed to drugs, alcohol and murder. The man who took her in taught her the secret ways of life, the darkest of them all. It frightened her. He kept her name but changed her last name. He said her middle name was exceptionally beautiful, and her first name would attract the clients.
Around fourteen, the term clients grew much clearer. From South Korea to Japan, she was shipped off to be the youngest…assassin for a man who called himself Joey Hong. He said because of her beauty, she could attract a lot of important people. However, he left out one important fact. Those people were people on the list. And that list was targets. She seduced them, for her safety. She brought them to different hotels, stating she was sixteen instead of fourteen… each person she seduced, was killed that same night.
Sixteen, she got herself embedded, marked with the Firefly tattoos. To her, the tattoo represents her middle name, Hotaru, which means Firefly. She stands out, which is why one of the fireflies is painted red. Her nickname, which Joe Hong thought unique and that it suited her, was Firefly. His little firefly. She was shipped off with Joe and his ‘company’ to Russian cities, and Joey found himself a partner in crime. Gusto Rinaldi. A Russian man. He tended to butt heads with Donovon from time to time. He would threaten the man with his secret weapon, but he never stated that his secret weapon was a girl.
Age eighteen, Naomi sent roses painted black to her brother with a card that simply stated “You are always in my thoughts, dear brother. ---N.” Without a return address. Of course, people tried to track her down. Yet, all tracks were erased skillfully.
Now, she is still fighting. She is still serving the man who exposed her to the assassin life. She lives a hard life, one of secrety, but she knows that one day, she’d find that happiness. Just not today.
