Just let me read... Please?

a character in “Project ALPHA”, as played by Wizzabee~*

Description

http://img-cache.cdn.gaiaonline.com/888 ... -_0032.jpg

Codename: Hephaestus

Name: Kaine Blake

Age: 17

Height: 5'11" (180cm)

Weight: 162lbs

Description: This boys natural eye colour is actually hazel. His eyes change but you should look further down to realise why.
Kaine is an animal lover. Although his 'tough' exterior doesn't allow it to become publically known. Whilst at his current location he kept seeing a cat in an ally way looking like she was starved (leading to him to believe she were a stray) he started to feed her when he could and a cat-human (Quasigod) friendship formed, she now follows him around like the little lamb followed Mary. He's also a book work but is subconscious to read around people as he has to wear glasses (he reads incredibly fast :O)

Personality: He doesn't have much of an opinion on anybody as he tries to stay withdrawn. He gives off an aura of being 'anti-social' when really he's just quiet and analytical.
Although he forms a relationship with Artemis and Poseidon at a younger age. Artemis, as she was also an animal lover and he admired her kindness to them and loved how she could talk to them wishing he could to. Poseidon, because Artemis requested him to help Kaine with his phobia.

Power: No change to the power just that his eyes change colour when he activates this 'gift' and that depending upon his mood towards the situation they change tone. Normally they're hazel, but when activated his eyes go to a golden yellow colour. The more anger he holds towards the situation the more red they go, but he can enter a state where his anger could get the better of him and go to a blue/white colour.

Achilles Heel: As expected, he has a phobia of water, but is trying to overcome it with the help of Poseidon and Artemis. He's also greedy for knowledge (if that could be a weakness?)

History: He currently works part-time at a local small cafe. In his free time he like to walk around to his favourite quite spot in the park to read whilst his cat, Kiara (nickname Rara), lies down besides him keeping him company. He's trying to save up enough money to pay his way into education so if he needs to, he at least has some form of 'future' in front of him.
He never really knew his mother, when she had to 'give him up' as an embryo, she never cam back to visit, so that could be a reason as to why he's so withdrawn.

So begins...

Evangaline Orsic~Artemis

"Oh, then we're headed the same way! I work at the bakery," Evangaline said to Rayne. "It's nice to see you again, by the way. It's been a while." The last time all of the Quasigods had been together was a couple of years before during a week long training session and a mission following it. After that, some of them began graduating, and things were quiet for the time being, so any missions only required a few select Quasigods rather than all of them together. Sure, they saw each other once in a while like today, or they would call each other. Some were good friends, like her and Shisuri and she knew that Lily and Edward were pretty much a thing. Evangaline liked to try to call at least one of them every week (excluding Ares most of the time). She saw them all as family and didn't want them to break apart when they didn't have to be together. They were the only people she could really trust.

Much to her surprise and happiness, Jack walked up. She had always preferred him (Poseidon) out of all of the big three. There was just something about him that made her feel safe. He was more big-brotherly. But she hadn't even seen him in several months. "Jack!" she exclaimed, and before she could stop herself, she skipped forward a step and gave him a huge hug and a shining grin. She almost felt embarassed in front of Rayne who always seemed so lady like and relaxed and stepped back, blushing. "I mean, how have you been? It's great to see you." Rayne, although intimidating, was a perfect role model for women, honestly. Beautiful, mannerly, tall, a perfect figure. Evangaline was more like Lucy, Lily, and Aliyah, small and still with a child-like body. Bridget was more like Rayne with a woman's body. Sometimes Evangaline envied them for that.

But she didn't have much time to dwell on things she longed for before the trio was joined by a fourth, and then a fifth.

"Oh, hi Aliyah!" she grinned at the short girl walking towards them, a bag in hand.

"Evangeline, I've brought some new blankets which I made last night. I remember promising you that I'd make some for you, isn't that right? I didn't know what color you liked the most so I made three blankets." the genius said in return. A lot tended to avoid Aliyah. Much like Rayne she was intimidating, but more for her brains than her beauty. She was Athena, the genetically altered goddess of wisdom, and she left everyone in the dust when they played with jigsaw puzzles. That was what made Evangaline most jealous of her. She just wanted to solve a puzzle before her. But that was just childish behavior, and now they were pretty good friends.

"Oh, thank you! You didn't have to go through all that trouble." She looked in the bag handed to her and pulled out a light blue, soft thing, rubbing it against her face. "This is a really pretty color, and it's so soft too. How do you do it?" She returned the smile given to her and noticed the fifth person joining their party.

"Hello, Kaine. I've been great. How have you been? How is your job? I keep meaning to stop by, but I've just been so busy with the zoo and the bakery, I find myself so tired when I go home." Kaine was another one of the Quasigods she had grown closest to when she was younger. He cared a lot for animals, and anybody who cared for animals easily earned Artemis's respect. But she always worried about him because his power was control over fire. Fire always scared her a little because it was so dangerous and once, when she was younger, she accidently burned herself trying to keep a blind kitten from straying to close to hers and Benjamin's campfire. They always liked to go camping and talk to the wildlife. Of course, Benjamin didn't really talk to them, but Evangaline persuaded the animals to let him pet them. He was so sweet anyways.

She took a moment to even say hi to Kaine's cat whom Evangaline considered a sixth member. "Hello, little Rara," she told her and rubbed her behind her left ear, which was apparantly her sensitive spot. Cats were fickle creatures. They were the hardest to gain the trust of, but this one didn't seem to mind her. She had met her before, and Evangaline told her that she and Kaine were friends. That probably helped.

She took a step back and looked at the small gathering of Quasigods around her. "Wow, guys. I don't think I've seen this many of us together for a while! I've missed seeing you all." This was nice, she thought. Just like old times.

Rayne almost took a step back at all the people gathering around them. She wasn't used to being in groups of people. She wasn't to fond of the noise and the multiple conversations. Besides, even though they were her technical siblings, she knew little to nothing about them. They were practical strangers to her and her to them. Rayne tried her best to avoid looking like she was beginning to feel awkward since that would be rude to her fellow Quasigods. She kept her cool, but the group had stopped to talk to each other and she was anxious to get to her mother with the muffins. She also promised to buy milkshakes as well. At her pace, that could take close to an hour.

"We haven't been together for a long time," Rayne started in a calm voice, eyeing each of the members as if it were only their second meeting throughtout theuir entire lives. "I wonder if this gathering means something. I certainly didn't plan to be here," she chuckled.

"How's everything, Jack? The lessons?" she rememebered he worked at YMCA. She liked the relationship Evangeline and Jack had with each other. It was like true siblings Rayne would witness in the park or on television. Though she thought it would be nice to experience that type of love and care, she never assumed she would fall into the place since it was just too odd for her to grasp her imagination with.

Looking towards Athena, whom Rayne admired for her genius, she pointed at the blankets. "That is so nice. It's quite beautiful too," she said trying to find common ground for conversation since she wasn't too sharp of the brain when it came down to the raw moment. Aliyah is so talented, she thought. It made her almost rethink her talents besides her given power and her beauty. Aliyah could sure set girls on edge with her air just as Rayne sometimes did with her stunning beauty. She couldn't deny the truth. Most girls and woman admired, feared, or disliked others who are superior to them, be it brains or beauty. Rayne kept her mind off the fact though. She could stay Aphrodite and Aliyah. Athena. That's the way Kronos made them so there was nothing more to wonder about, in her mind.

Smiling at the cat, she reached over to pet it like Evangeline. Rubbing the kitten's head she looked back up at Kaine, blinking, and flashed a nice smile. The kitten purred, paused, and then looked up at Rayne. A low hiss came from the animal and Rayne instantly shot her hand back at the noise. "Oh, I don't think she likes me, Kaine" Rayne bit her lip, staring at he group wide-eyed and a bit surprised.

Hikari Hotondo - Apollo

The sun was shining. The birds were singing and Hikari was having a field day. He laughed cheerfully as some old jokes his friends were telling him and nodded his head every once in a while. His friends and he was shopping in a local mall and buying their girlfriends some gifts. Hikari looked at the pink teddy bear in his hands...yeah, it was almost a year since the the day they had officially become a couple and he wanted to celebrate it by buying something special for her. He grinned widely as one of his friends patted his shoulder and said out loud "...man, last night was fun! It's a pity you didn't join us...we'd have so much fun together..." Hikari just shook his head with a smile "...gomen, Steve-kun...you know how my grades have been lately...kaa-san would strangle me if I slack off for sure..." Another one said with a snort "...I will never be able to understand you and your strange habit, Hikari...but whatever..." Hikari just shrugged and said teasingly "...ah ah...that's why i'm called the 'mysterious guy', right?..." "...you? Mysterious? jeez...you're a nerd, dude..." Steve said and Hikari chuckled "...right, a popular nerd, that's what I am...though seriously, what happened yesterday? Did Maya really break up with Peter like they said?..." Hikari smiled as he looked at his friends whose faces suddenly became serious as if they were about to tell him the world's greatest secret...Oh, if only they knew what he was...secrets like this would be like a droplet of water inside an ocean...He pretended to examine a black t-shirt as he looked back at his life...He was not a normal human...hell, he didn't even know if he was human or not...He was a Quasigod...strange, right? To think that a normal boy like him could be a god...but yes, it was true...he was a god...or at least, that's what Kronos had called him. His codename was Apollo - the God of Light...He nodded his head absently as his friends asked another question and tuned them out as they began their rambling about girls and their three sizes...If only life could be this normal forever...

"YMCA must be pretty busy?"

A familiar voice said and Hikari immediately looked up, ready to take off his Hikari Mask and replace it with his Apollo one but he quickly relaxed as he realized this must be one of the coincidence that he met the others here. The Quasigods must have some kinds of natural charm...making they meet with each other more than normal circumstances allowed. Well, not that Hikari minded...he was just really glad they could talk to each other often. He turned his head and spoke to his friends "...hey guys...go ahead...I'll catch up later...I think I just saw someone I know..." Without waiting for his friends' replies, Hikari stroke confidently and met up with the group of Quasigods as they chatted about something. He waved his hands and greeted cheerfully, dropping his 'Japanese accent' facade "...heya, Poseidon, Artemis, Athena, Hephaestus, Aphrodite...long time no see...how're you guys doing?..."

Edward Blake - Hades

Edward, on the other hand, was not having a good day...Who knew learning how to cook would be so hard? He was, not by any means, a bad cook but he needed to improve his skills every month in order to keep his jobs. As a part-time baker for a local bakery, Edward had soon earned the love for cooking...though it would be the day when hell froze over that he admitted it...His frown deepened as he re-read the passage...oh, we had to add two spoon of sugar...hmm...He scratched his head, and took out his notebook, quickly writing the instruction down...hopefully, he would be able to cook this dish by the end of this week...A shrilling noise startled Edward and he looked up from his book only to see a car passed by the bookstore he was currently in and he shook his head...humans...didn't even know how to be polite. Well, but wasn't he a human, too? Well...not exactly. Edward was not even normal let alone...a human...He was a Quasigod...one of those pathetic puppets Kronos liked to use so much...there were 13 more like him...they were his family. Some of them had already seen the light...like Athena...and some were still in the dark...like Apollo or Aphrodite. There were times when Edward thought he would lose his patience and just outright said to Kronos' face that he wasn't their puppet...but he didn't. He continued to endure for the sake of his family...his little brothers and sisters...all of whom he loved more than his life. His face tinted pink as he thought about love...It had been a long time since he met Demeter...he wondered how she's doing...Was her faked life as good as his? As peaceful as his? Or was it full of troubles and bad things? He chuckled as he slapped himself gently. 'Relax...you fully know what's her faked life, right, Hades?...don't become such a mother hen...' He thought mentally and shook his head...He really did love her too much...He sighed and looked at his cooking book and then to the clock again...He had another hour until he had to come to the bakery...might as well finish this book before then...

Rayne added a shy smile as Kaine said the cat was just upset about being the center of attention. She could some-what relate to the emotion. Being a test subject she used to be frequently under the spotlight, pressured to be better. She didn't mind it with the scientists because of her devotion to Kronos. Yet with humans or other Quasigods, she didn't appreciate being looked upon. To be honest she feared making a mistake and altering how the others thought of her.

She stepped away from the cat as it approached Evangaline. Maybe animals wasn't her forte. Humans were definately more welcome of her prescene she noticed. She didn't mind.

Feeling an air of sunshine and Apollo, she turned to see the bright blond head of the god of the sun himself. Rayne really liked Hikari out of all the Quasigods. She found him to be quite the adorable one. It was more of a sisterly emotion she felt but, Hikari didn't know that. She kept her sisterly yearning to herself and just smiled to him. "Hello, sunny," she said easily. They both shared respect and alliance with Kronos which she could certainly say less for some of the other Quasigods. She has known that Athena and Hades have less trust in their creators.

"The family keeps growing, huh?" she looked over her siblings. This was probably the closest she has gotten to her "siblings" outside of Kronos's facilities. Maybe the nice day signalled for a good day. Or a tease to a bad one.

Aliyah Draven =-= Athena

"Oh, thank you! You didn't have to go through all that trouble. This is a really pretty color, and it's so soft too. How do you do it?"

Aliyah let out a small smile when she saw Evangeline rubbing the blanket against her face. Nodding in acknowledgement to Kaine's greeting she turned to the white-haired girl once again and replied, "It's not a problem. "I'm glad you liked it. It's just easy, I can teach you how to weave blankets if you like," the brown-haired girl offered. She's always ready to help those who are interested to learn how to weave and learn more than what they know.

If there is one thing that Athena is particularly obsessed with, it will be crafting and weaving different dresses. At first, such knowledge was easily deemed useless for a Quasigod like her. People like her was not made for niceties like this one. However as she grew up and got more clumsy than ever, tripping at nothing in particular, such talent on sewing and weaving dresses or any other related materials had became a gift and a necessity for her. She prides herself on her skills in this particular specialization of art. Not only it is useful for her oddities, it also never fails to bring a smile at Aliyah's face whenever she sees other people appreciating her creations.

"Wow, guys. I don't think I've seen this many of us together for a while! I've missed seeing you all." Evangeline stated moments later, stepping back and staring at each one of them. Rayne then also replied not soon after, "We haven't been together for a long time."

Aliyah almost let out a snort when she heard the Quasigod of Aphrodite' s idealistic and unknowing words. Of course, the only time they have been together was because of either for the usual missions or the major changes Kronos wanted to implement to its soldiers.

"I wonder if this gathering means something. I certainly didn't plan to be here," she added chuckling and this time the brown-haired shorter girl can't help raising an eyebrow in curiosity. Of course, for them Quasigods, meetings like this planned or not will raise some kind of suspicions to the higher ups. It was normal, seeing as everyone of them can definitely overthrow the control Cray Fellar had to everything.

When her eyes met with Rayne's amethyst-colored irises, she waited for the older woman's next words. "That is so nice. It's quite beautiful too." She gestured to the blankets in Evangeline's hand and the brown-haired younger girl's lips curved into a small smile, settling into a respectful air. It wasn't like she hated/disliked Rayne Rose. Like how she treats the other persons, especially if she doesn't feel an attachment or connection to them, Aliyah acts as respectfully detached as she could. Aliyah nodded and decided to reply just in case Aphrodite might get offended if she doesn't get any response, "Thank you."

"I see you still like making blankets Aliyah? They're beautiful as ever." Kaine stated not long after. Aliyah instinctively smiled once again and replied, "I am. I'm glad to hear that." She then looked at the approaching Quasigod of Apollo and gave another nod of acknowledgement at his words.

Polite speech and respectfulness, if there is one thing Aliyah is good at, those were the traits she have thoroughly mastered by now. To be as emotionally detached and yet be courteous as one could be, Aliyah knows all the rules to be able to execute perfect reactions like these.

In all honesty, among their group, there are only a few number of people that she can consider her friends, Artemis for example and Zeus. Other than that, the relationship between the people next on the list of Quasigods only usually blurs between professionalism and semi-friendship. It was because of that, that 'reunions' like these is not Athena's cup of tea. She had only decided to drop by the bakery to give Evangeline the blankets but it seemed like fate had planned something else.

Though these people are technically her brothers and sisters, still she cannot with certainty declare that she knew them well. It wasn't lack of trust or anything, because even at the beginning, Aliyah knew full well enough that she must not absolutely trust others without deliberate care and concern for the things around. It has something to do with the others Quasigod's alliance. She concluded that in order to avoid conflict and unnecessary dramas later on, she will critically analyze where the other genetic clones's trust and will lies.

"The family keeps growing, huh?" She noticed Rayne speaking and she was half-tempted to roll her eyes at the statement. The 'family' growing as what Aphrodite calls it, might just be the moment when Kronos would decide to clone more Quasigods like them. Lightly scolding herself from her internal rudeness to Rayne, she felt compelled to add, "I guess you're right..." Whatever will happen to this day or the next days after, Aliyah is certain that the wheels of fate had already started turning and the government, the rebels and the Quasigods will be the people who will deeply be involved in that game.
