Nova is typically a solemn person, liking to keep to themselves. Being almost extremely introverted, they have almost sworn off from talking. Nova will often use nicknames for people they know, hoping to express fondness. Theyâre highly observant, liking to pay attention to details and small things about people. They often internalize what people tell them, taking just about everything to heart. Nova is heavily prone to depression and social anxiety, making them somewhat paranoid and cautious of their surroundings. They often use their heart as opposed to their head, being impulsive in most given situations if left unchecked. They are heavily determined, leading them to go nights on end to complete one task if not done correctly the first time. Nova is heavily insecure in their physical and gender appearance, overly self-aware of how they look. They are often meek and seem to lack a sense of self-pride, allowing others to take advantage of them. They will bottle up emotions altogether, thinking as they only ever lead to trouble. Get to know Nova, and one will find the same description but a small peek of a hopeless romantic and an ever loyal friend. They're known to be generous, giving things to others who they think need it most. As much as they lack, they tend to give until it hurts.

â Death Sense â : Nova is capable of sensing the coming of death, able to determine how and when someone will die. If Nova comes into physical contact with someone, they will receive a short vision of how the said person will die. If wanting to see casualties of foreseen battles, Nova must grasp the photo or be in the place of where the battle will happen. They're able to force others to see said visions, leading to trauma, fear, panic, and even incapacitation. Not all predictions for large amounts will be correct or Nova may not be able to even get a number.

Nova was born in on February 14th to a Russian mother and American preacher. James Edinger was an American man who helped spread the word of Lord as well as Anti-Parahuman agendas tying to the Bible. Nina Ivanov was a religious woman who had many of the same ideals with the preacher. She went with him to America, after living a few years in Russia to introduce Nova to the motherâs side of the family. Novaâs life from the ages of 1 to 5 was seemingly average, going to a small, white church in their town where Nova would be still and listen to what her father had to say. It was the day that they had hugged their grandmother for the first time that their father realized that their child was out of the ordinary. Nova had predicted the death of their grandmother at the age of 6, telling their father how and when. Sure enough, a month later their grandmother fell ill and passed away. Their father saw Nova as a sin upon their family. Nova was soon regarded as a devil child, having many priests perform exorcisms on them. Nova was kept hidden in the basement when not attending school, taught both Russian and American English schooling and the word of God. They would be left handcuffed to the bed they slept on. Nova was forbidden from any interaction with people outside the church, often left to their own devices alone. Nova was often left without proper meals and care, leading to malnourishment and awful health. This continued on for several years until Christmas, when Nova was 15 years old.
Trigger Event :
It was Christmas in the Edinger family home, her family having a splendid gathering in the backyard. Nova was fiddling with the lock on their handcuffs, only to have their father come downstairs. A plate full of scraps, a few full slices of ham on the plate with gravy. Her father talked about the blessing of Christmas, how they should've been grateful for their scraps and living situations for a "demon in human flesh." Their father set the plate on the table away from them, going on a small rant. That was when Nova noticed his keys, the only way they've been thinking of getting out. Their father came forward, grabbing their chin roughly. Their father yelled, shaking them wildly as the teen became panicked. Out of fear, Nova forcibly moved his head away from them. It resulted in breaking Mr. Edinger's spine, the male immediate dead upon hitting the floor. Nova slid the keys over, unlocking herself and scarfing the food. Once they checked that their father was truly dead, they ran up the stairs. Grabbing a large hiking backpack, they filled their pack with clothes, her father's and mother's wallets, food, soap bars, a few knives, a sleeping bag, and a tarp. With that, they ran from home and didn't look back.
After Math :
Now in Capetown, Texas, Nova has been jumping from shelter to shelter for a good couple months. Thankful for the public library and its computers, Nova landed a job in a college bookstore. During their free time, they've managed to attend a few college classes in order to better prepare themselves and even learn something interesting. During the later hours and weekends, they've taken up vigilante work. Living at a few shelters have inquired plenty of cases for hero work, Nova taking it upon themselves to return for the things they steal out of necessity. After all, clothes are expensive. They've become a defender of those in abusive situations, setting up traps and making sure abusers get what they deserve. Be it death or some other form of an end, Nova doesn't seem to care too much. Soon enough, they helped with muggings and night crime. Though only after their homework was done, of course. They never thought much of it until mentions of the HLA came about, an organization dedicated to that line of work. Of course, they were interested. But surely it cost money, right? Nova has thought on it, but for now, they're just trying to get by. Even if it means being a bit of a neutral walker.
