Personality: Taggert is first and foremost a gentleman, but he is not above striking a woman who acts less than a βladyβ in provoking him to anger; or one who strikes him, first. Taggert is highly intelligent, proud, vain and more than a bit of an opportunistic pragmatist; He is quick to laugh and joke, but quicker to lash out verbally, if affronted. Conversely, Taggert would the rather engage in fisticuffs or talk his way a quarrel altogether rather than resort to gunplay. Worse comes to worst, he will run away from any potentially fatal confrontation. At heart Taggert is a curious explorer and he thrills at uncovering a secret nobody knows, or finding a site of archeological significance that others deem βlostβ. He is only adequate when it comes to performing menial tasks that other men on the wild frontier would consider manly. He has led a very sheltered live, for the most part, and it shows. He does not like to get his hands dirty, but does not hesitate to do a thing once it becomes absolutely necessary. For his own survival. Taggert is anything but truly altruistic. Taggert does not much care for horseback riding, overland travel, cattle, mining, farming, gambling or gun fighting. Though no marksman, Taggert is adequate with a rifle, less so with a pistol. He is very quick on the draw but rarely carries a sidearm as he is decidedly afraid of seeing blood drawn (his own) or having his bodyweight increased, fatally, by a surplus of hot lead. He has no qualms about killing another man, or woman, (anymore) when his life comes threatened, but steers; however far he can, clear of engaging in pistol duels.
