Arranged marriages never work out the way they're supposed to...

306 readers have visited Promised since Willow Stardust created it.

Introduction

Supernatural creatures have coexisted amongst humans for centuries now. Demons and vampires have never been enemies, but then again they have never truly been friends either. They do, however, have a common foe. The angels. Both have fought against them since the beginning of time itself, but neither of them have been successful in their efforts. For the sake of finally having a chance to rid themselves of the angels presence for good, the leaders of two clans, one of demons and the other of vampires, have decided to frge a political union. How you ask? By arranging a marriage for their two eldest children. The problem? The princess of demons and the prince of vampires can't stand each other, in fact it would be correct to say that they loathe one another.

No one is in favor of the wedding, but no one is against it either if it means eradicating the angels. The princess and prince will have no choice but to put their differences, and extreme distaste for each other, aside since the same day they find out about this arrangement is the same day as their wedding. Forced to be together, how will they deal with the predicament they're stuck in?

Amaryllis woke up to see the sunlight coming through strong, and hitting her in her eyes. "Well the big wedding day..." She sighed as she got up. One of her maids burst through the doors with a smile on her face. "Today is the day you get married! Aren't you excited?!" She asked with a big smile on her face. "Well, no not really." She told the maid the truth at least. Walking to the bathroom she took her shower and came out. "We have a busy day before the wedding, so you should hurry." The maid was more excited than Amaryllis, almost like she was getting married. She could switch spots with Ami any day. She never wanted to do this anyways.

The maid pushed her out the door and down the corridors of the castle. Finally they maid it to a room that had her dress and everything else in it. Sighing again she sat down as some final alterations were being maid to her wedding dress. "Where is Serena? Tell her I need her here. now." She ordered one of the maids. She watched the girl leave the room and she looked at her soon to be dress. "It's okay I guess." She would say anything bad about the wedding, even if it was beautiful. She hated this day and wished for it to be over already. It seemed it has been dragging out already. Ami would have to put a smile at the wedding, so she took all of the time she had now to frown at everything.

Nothing seemed like it was going to be fun. She knew of the Prince, but never talked much. She planned on keeping her distance after they get married. Nothing was going to keep her around him all of the time. She crossed her legs and waited impatiently for her friend to arrive.

Zane entered the castle. He had long been awake, surrounding the perimeter, checking to see it safe for his Princess. He was getting married today. Though he knew she hated everything that had to do with the wedding. He was happy for her. It was going to be a beautiful ceremony he felt almost like a big brother, giving his little sister away. Zane felt a sense of pride. The wedding was not in his favor, because the princess detested it so much, however, the groom would be a fairly good guy for her. . .

The wedding also meant Zane was to be on supper senses. Should the angles attack, today wold be a wonderful day for them too. Other guardians, along with Zane previously meet to make sure this was going to be one of the most secure events the two groups have seen.

Zane brought himself to reality from his head, thoughts were clouding his mind. And he did not like that.
He expanded his wings to stretch them out, then quickly retracted them to his back. He heard the princess demanding the presence of her best friend and smirking he lightly tapped the half open door.

Sarie DeLine was not in the mood for a wedding. It was her philosophy that weddings were just another way for men to bond a woman to them. She tapped her foot as she waited for the potion to be complete "Come on....Come on!" Finally the liquid in the cauldron reached it's boiling point and suddenly turned a deep scarlet. Smiling she poured the potion into a cup just as a maid knocked on her door."Yes? come in!" A small woman peeked her head in, but didn't venture any farther. Was she scared to venture into my room?

"Sorceress Serena? Princess Amaryllis is awaiting your arrival." None of the castle servants knew how to address her and so they called her sorceress. Sarie nodded her head and left the cup on the wooden table next to her. "Lead on." The maid dipped her head and Serena followed her out. The golden tapestries lined the walls and sunlight shown on the carpets as they walked towards Amaryllis. Serena had never been jealous of her friends fortune, but she does sometimes wish there positions were reversed. She always wondered what it would be like to be a princess. Would it be fun? Or maybe annoying? Lost in her thoughts she almost ran right into the door and into Zane.

"Zane." Stepping in front of him she made her way in not even bothering to announce her presence. "Ami, how are you this morning? I am sorry it took me long to get here but I have just finished the most wonderful potion..."

The faintest, monotonous sound of footsteps could be heard going up and down the halls of the castle. Jezebel paced back and forth outside of the prince's room, occasionally nodding at various servants as they hurriedly walked past her. Everyone seemed to be in a mad rush and the guardian could practically touch the tension in the air. No one would outwardly speak against the wedding, but it was pretty evident that no one was too thrilled about it. Jezzy herself wasn't all that excited about the arrangement, but it was a great opportunity to crush the angels, also, as a bodyguard it wasn't her place to criticize the royals decisions. Still, she could be found mumbling to herself about how little faith she had in the actual marriage.

The soon-to-be couple hardly knew each other and were never very good acquaintances but in just a few short hours they would be getting married. Jezebel couldn't help but laugh a little, stifling the noise just as another maid walked by. She regained her straight posture and continued making her way down the hall, finally stopping beside the doors to the prince's room. Her amber eyes scanned the once-again quiet hall and she let out a soft sigh. When was this wedding happening anyway? She'd beaten the sun waking up and it felt like hours had passed since dark awakening.

Idly, passing the time, she ran her pale hands over her black attire, smoothing out nonexistent wrinkles. Her right hand rested on the hilt of the blade that was resting on her hip as she stood poised to fight should there be a need to. She doubted the time would arise, though she kept imagining funny scenarios that would ultimately ruin the wedding. "I doubt anyone would complain about it." She mused to herself in a pleasant tone. After a few more painful minutes of waiting Jezebel turned and knocked on the door, just loud enough for the prince to here. "Are you alive in there?" She asked in the joking tone she usually spoke in whenever she talked to the prince. She wouldn't dare speak to his parents in such a light manner though.

Oh the irony! Oh the madness! Oh how fun it would be if there was something more entertaining then seeing his best friend being married to a broad with no figure to her body. There he sat, right above the prince's room, but where? Oh, that was easy, in the ceiling tiles! His best place to hide and his most favorite place to be, the heater was just right there and it kept him oh so warm while he slept. "Are you alive in there?" Jack opened his eyes and peaked through one of the cracks of the tiles before kicking them out and jumped down, landing perfectly on his feet; being two pounds was an advantage, you know.

He smiled and circled around Jezebel, placing his hand on her shoulder and gave her a sly and cheeky smile. "Why, having a secret affair with the prince? Such a naughty girl, Jezzy." He snickered, teasing and knowing that she wouldn't ever dare speak to the higher-ups like that. That was the difference between him and the others; he would do everything in his power just to piss the higher-ups off, kissing the prince informally on the cheek, making smart-ass jokes, hell, he has even slept with one of the royals just to show off how close he was with everyone. He snickered before walking infront of the door. "So tell me, is the prince that good of a man?" He teased, looking at her before walking behind her.

He placed his hands onto her shoulders before pushing her lightly. "Oh Jezzy, I too wonder what you might look like naked!" His voice seemed serious but anyone could tell he was just tormenting her with his jokes. He walked towards the door, and knocked hard and loud. "Oh princey~!" His voice sang as he leaned onto the door. "Someone is waiting for you!" He laughed, rolling his body onto the wall.

Christopher Nolen

Chris stood in front of the mirror, inspecting himself in a black suit and tie. He smiled at his reflection, he was in full bloom today. His blonde shaggy hair was gleaming and brighter as usual, and his eyes were a deeper shade of violet today. He never really cared about his appearance, but knew he looked good. Today his smile seemed a bit more inviting and charming. Of course today he was to meet his future bride, so he'd leave a good impression on her. He'd never met a women on or man who'd turned him down. Though, he had to say he was a little mad about this whole arrangement. Why should they decide who he would or would not marry. Though it was for the good of both sides, demon and vampire.

He sighed. Fixing his tie reluctantly he heard a knock at the door."Are you alive in there?" Ah, Jezzebel. It was funny how she never held her tongue around him. Any other royal would see to her being decapitated. But he'd always thought people like that were uptight. He laughed and made a sound of mock surprise. "Is that worry, I detect coming from Jezz the fearless?" That was when he heard Jack. "Why, having a secret affair with the prince? Such a naughty girl, Jezzy." "So tell me, is the prince that good of a man?" "Oh Jezzy, I too wonder what you might look like naked!"

He heard another loud knock at the door, this time coming from Jack. "Oh princey~!""Someone is waiting for you!" Chris opened the door, emerging from his room laughing. "You know, It's nice that you guys care about me so much that you'd put on a show like this for me," he joked. He looked at Jezzebel, giving her a hot once over met to make women stop in their tracks and girls scream. "Wow, Jezz even in black you look ravishing." He walked over to her and kissed her hand looking up into her face. Then pulled back with a smirk on his face. No doubt Jack would find that amusing, but what he said was true. Jezz did look more beautiful than ever today.

Amaryllis listened to her friends as they came into the room. "I'm fine I guess." She replied to Sarie. "Nice to see you to Zane." She greeted him before looking at her dress. It was a black dress with a long train flowing behind it. There was embroidery on the top and it created a trickle down affect as it went lower. The veil was the same design as the dress. If she was marrying someone she wanted to, then she would be more happy. "All down my princess." The elderly lady told Ami as she had a look of approval at the dress. "Thank you." Ami stood up and took the dress to a changing room. She came out with the dress on and the veil.

For once her hair was straight down, which most of the time it was in a ponytail. "What do you guys think?" She asked as she did a small twirl. "We are running late we must go Ami." Her mother came in with another maid. Why was everyone rushing this wedding? She gave a slow nod before looking to her friend and guardian. "Let's go." She said in a not so happy tone. The wedding was at her castle so it was held in the garden. She arrived at the holding place were she would be waiting for the prince to arrive before she made her grand entrance. "I hope this works out." Sighing she sat in a chair as she waited.

Zane smiled brilliantly at his princess and mad a small bow as she presented herself. "Beautiful." Was all he said. He walked behind her as she made her way down to the garden. The garden was always a marvelous place, but of course for the wedding, the maids seemed to step it up a notch. Zane sported a dark navy coat. It went from his neck, all the way down to just below his waist. It was slightly form fitting, and silver buttons ran down the front in pairs.

When they arrived to the holding area; Zane looked Ami over, he noticed the distaste shown threw her eyes. He pushed a piece of her hair behind her ear. "Listen, it's just a wedding- It doesn't mean you have to love the guy." He picked up her chin, so she was looking up at him and kissed her forehead. "This, is you day. Make the best of it. Show this guy how amazing you are, and flaunt that he doesn't really have your heart." He paused. "Hell, if nothing else, make this out to be a game."

He stepped back and than gave her an engulfing hug. Letting his wings fit around her. He stopped abruptly, and wished hr good luck. He then stepped outside the holding area in search of the groom.

"I'm fine I guess." Ami replied to Sarie. "Nice to see you to Zane." The dress in Ami's hand was quite beautiful and she couldn't wait to see it on her friend. "All down my princess." A small wizened lady told Ami. "Thank you." As she went into the changing room Sarie could feel her thoughts starting to drift. My friend was getting married to a man...What if this man was not trustworthy? What if there was no room for me in her life anymore? She sighed just as Amaryllis stepped out of the dressing room. Sarie could do nothing but gasp as Zane told her how beautiful she was. The dress fitted all the contours of her body making her look, elegant, courtly, and sexy at the same time. Her friend...her only friend was being given away.

"What do you guys think?" Ami said in direction towards her friends, bu we could not reply before she could reply her mother came into the room. "We are running late we must go Ami." Amaryllis gave a slow nod and looked at me and Zane "Let's go." The princess seemed flustered with the wedding and Sarie knew she must do something to reassure her, but Zane beat her to it as they arrived at the holding area. "I hope this works out." Ami said as she sunk into a nearby chair.

"Listen, it's just a wedding- It doesn't mean you have to love the guy." Zane kissed her forehead in a loving way "This, is you day. Make the best of it. Show this guy how amazing you are, and flaunt that he doesn't really have your heart." He stopped before continuing. "Hell, if nothing else, make this out to be a game." Zane gave her a big hug showing the brilliance of his wings. Saying his last goodbye he departed, presumably to search for the groom. The words that Zane had told Ami made Sari realize something. Zane was so supportive...What kind of friend would I be if I did not support my only friend? The best I can do is be there for her and wait for the opportunity to help the world realize that men, Chris as no exception, were horrible beings.

Ami still sat in the chair and Serena sat down next to her. "Amaryllis, you already know that I disapprove of this wedding, but not because of you but because of my own selfish reasons." Sarie looked down at her lap. "I don't know if I can ever change my feeling towards men, but I know that I can't stand in the way of what might make you happy." A mischievous smile replaced the sad one on Sarie's face. "But just so you know I'll be watching his every move and if he does one thing to hurt you...Well he might find a poisonous snake in his sheets." She winked, "Now my dear friend you look beautiful and if there was a man on earth that could resist you, he would be a fool."

Jezebel couldn't help but roll her eyes at Jack and shrug away from the hands he placed on her shoulders. She knew better than to take anything he said to heart, after years of being around both him and the prince. "Like everyone else, you'll just have to keep on fantasizing." She spoke in reference to his comment about seeing her naked. She was a pretty laid back individual, considering her work, so she rarely got enraged. Oh but when she did, it definitely was a sight to see. Jezzy just laughed at Jack's further comments, glad to see the prince finally emerge from his room. "It's about time," she stood up from her leaning position against the wall and tossed her silky hair back over her shoulders. "It's just a black dress, but hey I know I look amazing." She never did hesitate to say something about her appearance, she had complete confidence in her looks.

"As much as I would simply love to chat with you two all day I do believe someone," her eyes fell on Chris, "has a pretty little wedding to attend. The groom can't be late." Jezebel started to push the prince in the right direction where, undoubtedly, half of both kingdoms would be waiting. She was so relieved that in no way did she have to participate in the ceremony, all that she needed to do was stay close by to cut up anyone who tried to disturb the peace. Today though, she wouldn't really care if someone ruined the whole wedding, as long as the prince was left unharmed.

The hall the wedding was being hosted in was enormous, it could seat well over five hundred people. Today it seemed like every ounce of space was occupied too. Jezzy stopped to peak in through one of the numerous doors that led to the grand room, spotting a lot of faces she'd never seen before, obviously demons. She closed the door back and rested her hands on her hips. "Well they can't start without you. Don't worry, I'm sure she isn't as terrible as I think she is." Jezebel didn't really have anything against the demon princess personally, she just didn't like other females in general.

He laughed at their comments before Chris kissed her hand and complemented on her dressing. "Well, I didn't know you had a big di-" He was cut off as Jezebel started to push him into the right direction, Jack following the two with a sly smirk on his face. As they entered, he could see many of demons looking down at them and before they could even get the chance, being Jack, he jumped onto the back of Chris and leaning his head real close; to anyone who didn't know Jack that was looking, may have seen unnatural closeness, but the ones knowing him, he was just trying to piss off everyone around him. "Well they can't start without you. Don't worry, I'm sure she isn't as terrible as I think she is."

Jack snickered before wrapping his arm around the shoulders of Chris, "Well, lets meet this babe your suppose to marry. I heard she was a demon, must be fun since demons tend to be... eh, lets just say temperamental..." He laughed, almost leaning on top of him like a drunk man.

Chris walked along with Jezebel and Jack."As much as I would simply love to chat with you two all day I do believe someone," her eyes fell on him, "has a pretty little wedding to attend. The groom can't be late." He was about to say something when Jezz pushed him and Jack in the right direction. Jack humped on to his back."Well they can't start without you. Don't worry, I'm sure she isn't as terrible as I think she is." Chris was always used to Jack's unusual behavior, so it didn't surprise him when he jumped on his back. Chris gave Jack a droll stare."Well, thats comforting."

Jack wrapped his arms around him."Well, lets meet this babe your suppose to marry. I heard she was a demon, must be fun since demons tend to be... eh, lets just say temperamental..." Ok, now that would be hard not to laugh at. Chris smiled, almost laughing then stopped."Jack, now is not the time for your smart-ass comments. Stop before they decapitate us we're here to make peace," he whispered.

His deep violet gaze scanned the room stopping on her. It had to be her. She was the most beautiful woman in the room, she wore an elegant dress that went perfectly with the shape of her body and her hair was left falling down her back. She was also sitting next to some other woman and man. Most likely her, guardians. He looked back over at Jack, but couldn't help that his gaze was making it's way back to her.

Jack looked at him before laughing, or thats when he had whispered, "Jack, now is not the time for your smart-ass comments. Stop before they decapitate us we're here to make peace," Jack knocked back his head before letting out a laugh and then letting go of him before walking infront of him, his arms spread out as if he was asking Chris to dance. "You are suppose to be making peace, I am only there to make the higher-ups mad." He said, his cheeky voice and smile smelled like trouble as he saw the princess and her guardians. Jack simply smiled before leaning onto Chris again. "Wow, aren't they just babes? Though, I would have to admit..." He said before cupping his hands together.

"They don't have enough boobs or hips for you, my dear Chris! OH, no, Not like Jezzy!" His voice echoed through out the area, as he yelled, making sure that even people outside heard him; the higher-ups that where in there cursed and whispered about him, Jack? He was just enjoying the attention he was getting.

Prince Christoper Nolen walked into the room before Ami could respond and stopped dead in his tracks. He stared at her and she stared at him. Silence filled the room until a man, quite strangely dressed, leaned into Chris and spoke, "Wow, aren't they just babes? Though, I would have to admit...They don't have enough boobs or hips for you, my dear Chris! OH, no, Not like Jezzy!" Sarie stiffened and, before anyone else could respond to the atrocious comment walked up to the man, presumably the Prince's friend. A cat like smile lit up her face as she leaned unto the man on the prince's back. With a snap of her fingers her breasts grew triple the size and her hips grew, giving her a curved look and straining against the dress.

"How is this? Better? Or perhaps this..." Changing her outfit so that she looked like a village whore she whispered into his ear still smiling, "All you men are pigs...and it seems you are no exception. Don't be surprised if you find a frog in your bed tonight. " Bringing her hand up she slapped him hard across the cheek and stepping back curtsied to the prince, now back in her purple bridesmaid dress. "My apologies Prince Christopher, I am Sorceress Serena, but you may call me Sarie." Her job finished she stepped back into her position next to Ami.

Amaryllis looked at her guardian and smiled softly. "Your right." She said as she turned her head to look forward for the prince. She then listened to Sarie. It made her feel better about everything to hear her friends give her support. Her eyes continued to scan the room until an interesting pair came into the room. No doubt it was the prince and his guardian along with someone, who to say the least was awkward. Standing up she straightened out her dress and then walked over to prince Christoper. "Hello, I'm princess Amaryllis." She gave him a small curtsey before giving him the best smile she could manage. "I know we just met, but could you keep your friend in line." It sounded like a question, but it was more of a demand. One of the maids then ran over to her and told her the wedding was about to start.

"Sarie, get ready. Oh and you behave as well." She walked passed her friend and stopped briefly to speak with her in her ear. She then walked out of the room to go get her father who would be walking her down the isle. She had to admit at least the man she was marrying was good looking. That was the only plus side she could come up with at the moment. As for his friend, he was annoying to her, but she held her tongue as much as she could. But once they were married he would have to go.

"Hello, I'm princess Amaryllis." Ami gave the prince a small smile and curtsy before continuing, "I know we just met, but could you keep your friend in line." Sarie smirked at the prince's friend, but her smirk turned sober when Ami whispered in her ear, "Sarie, get ready. Oh and you behave as well."
She sighed as she watched Ami walk out of the room. "I would love to stay and chat, but I must get ready for the wedding I suppose. Prince Christopher, I do hope we can get better acquainted soon." She curtsied once more and sent a glare towards his friend. The guardian next to him was silent. How strange...
With one shake of her head she brushed past and went to her room to get prepared for the wedding.

Lovely Spade- Would you like me to be your bridesmaid and walk down the aisle first?

Jack smirked as she transformed her body into something, more... whorish and then he laughed as she slapped him and walked away. He smiled at everyone, showing them his vampire teeth, but he smelt and felt nothing like a vampire, it was one of his little features. He has been accepted as a vampire, but not in the actual public, actually, he is mostly shunned among everyone, but does that bring him down? Oh no, he takes advantage of that and tends to amuse himself.

He watched the girl walk away before circling around the princess, his hands in his pocket and his upper body laid back, his grey hair covering one eye. "Oh my, what an interesting friend you have. Though, I must say, your friend is very..." He said, almost ignoring the fact that she had asked to keep him in line. "Ah!" His mind drifted somewhere else, not even finishing his sentence as he walked to one of the large pillars. "Are these real gold?" He asked, tapping on them and circling them. A smile only a gold digger could hold.

He stopped and kicked it a few times before looking back. "What a nice building." He stated, devious as if he was about to steal it.

Jezebel watched as the group interacted, rolling her eyes for what felt like the hundredth time at Jack's inappropriate comments. She would have loved if he had a mute button to quiet him down. Sadly, nothing like that existed so she would just have deal. Her dark eyes briefly glanced over the demon princess she now knew as Amaryllis and the other female she called Sarie. She wasn't frowning but it was clear she wasn't pleased to be here, or to be around other females period. She wished the day would speed up so the wedding would be over already. When the princess and her friend left Jezzy didn't bother saying anything to them, just like every other female that ever crossed her path, she didn't like them. "Is this over yet?" She started pacing around to keep herself from going insane.

Re: [OOC] Promised

@psyduck
i kinda change my mind about the rp... -.- thanks for telling me about the rp. :P

Re: [OOC] Promised

Sure that sounds like a great, entertaining idea!
If everyone puts their characters up today we can start too!

Re: [OOC] Promised

I was wondering if I may make my character a witch? Or at least have a knowledge of potions? that way she can do things to thwart the wedding in that sort of way.

Re: [OOC] Promised

Hmm, I think it would add some more spice to the story. Go for it :D

Re: [OOC] Promised

How would you feel about an angel character? One of the more moral figures, he'd be an antagonist throughout the RP.

Re: [OOC] Promised

Absolutely! Your spot's reserved!

Re: [OOC] Promised

would it be okay to reserve the vampire prince?

...........

Re: [OOC] Promised

I could try for this role play if you need another character. Just let me know who you would like me to play! However, I would like to play a girl preferably.
PM me with your answer please :)
