Introduction
The year is 2030. The version of Earth, mostly like your own. About 15 years ago, an earth shattering event happened. A small tear in the veils between several alternate universes opened. One of these was what came to be known by itself as Universe 252, a mundane world prior. The second was a universe of magic and the supernatural, now called Universe 251. The third a world of highly advanced science and discoveries yet distant to the other two, deemed Universe 253. Though travel through the mysterious Rip is highly uncommon and not yet considered a safe chance to take, it has had other effects.
Soon after the Rip came to be, the ordinary humans of Earth (Universe 252) started to develop abilities never before seen in their universe. Lab accidents that should have killed those caught in them instead granted special powers. The touch of magic started to spark in people's fingers, and people began to witness and prove the existences of Supernatural creatures. It was as if Universe 252 had started to play by the rules of Universes 251 and 253.
This event caused something of a panic. The general populace had, at first, been kept in the dark about the Rip. But when you have abruptly become able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, or your son can now lift a car with ease, it becomes rather hard to keep it hidden. In the panic, something odd happened. In some of the new 'metahumans', the turmoil brought out the worst. Those with delusions of grandeur and visions of domination at their fingertips now had the power to possibly achieve these goals. But, in some others, it brought out the very best. In response to the rise of supervillains, superheroes rose just as quick to defend the world. Those with the determination to defend those who could not defend themselves, to save lives.
However, this was all 15 years ago. Those heroes who rose to the call are starting to get on in years. It is time to prepare for the next generation of heroes.
Thus, the original heroes founded Providence College.
Out in the middle of deep forest, where mishaps are unlikely to cause damage outside the college itself, Providence has been created to help the heroes of the future learn from the harsh lessons learned by the heroes of the past. The college is the first superhero organisation of it's kind, where a large number of the heroes who've risen to provenance since the Rip have all cooperated to found the school. Some have even retired from hero work to become the school's first full time faculty. It's students, being the very first class to attend, are each nominated for scholarship by an existing hero to study here. They may have worked with the hero before, the hero may have seen potential in them, or many other reasons.
And now, the first class of the first superheroics school in Universe 252's history is arriving on campus...
---
To cover all the vocations a metahuman may choose in the line of heroics, Providence offers three different courses. Each student must choose one to major in, and may choose one to minor in. And if they're particularly studious, they can try to sneak into the third's classes if their schedule allows it, and they don't get caught by their professors. The three professors, all themselves famous heroes of the past generation, teach mostly their own majors, but also classes pertaining specifically to their own powersets or experiences, should there be students who need them.
The most common major, combat is every inch the stereotype of the superhero. Fighting supervillains, destroying killer robots, chasing giant monsters back to the sea, all of these are to be the realm of the Combat Major.

The Defence and Rescue Major is focussed entirely on the limitation of civilian casualties during incidents. These heroes work to contain the area an incident covers, move civilians out of that area, and save as many lives as they possibly can.

These students may not have the most eye catching vocation, but it is by no means less important than the others. These are the students who invent gadgets, research ancient secrets and develop the advanced theories that the metahuman community absolutely relies on.

Principal Janet Key/Firework - NPC
Principal Key may often appear stern, but if you can name a juvenile delinquent behaviour, she has probably partook in it. She will discipline students for acting inappropriately when needed, but amongst the professors she becomes a firecracker, laughing openly about the shenanigans brought before her. However, when the chips are down, Principal Key is every inch the hero she has always been, determined, brave and protective of her new students.
Powers - Concussive fire blasts

RULES
- You all know not to godmode or overpower yourself at this point, do I need to say it?
- Don't just abandon the game midway with no explanation! Nobody likes to be left hanging.
- Nobody likes a one-line reply. Try to keep around two or three paragraphs at least.
- This roleplay is set at a COLLEGE. Higher education. That means the characters are aged from at least eighteen years old.
- Even so, I'd prefer to keep this at an acceptable maturity level. Feel free to curse, within reason, but try to keep things around PG13 to Teen rated.
- Please use live action face claims for your characters, and include them and your powers idea in your character reservations.
- This setting has elements of both scifi and fantasy, magic and advanced science, while in many ways oppositional, do coexist. Whether or not your character believes in them both or not is another question. But if you wanna play a cyborg ninja? Go for it! You wanna summon dragons out of nowhere? Be my guest! You wanna do both? Carry on, my wayward Genji main!
- We're all here to roleplay and have fun, so enjoy yourselves and be excellent to each other. *Bill and Ted pose*

I know the CS are taking a while. Honestly, I'm very upset with myself they are taking this long, but I will -for sure- have them both completed by Friday before I go to bed :D

Just type in the titles, and pick your colour. There are other sites like this one, but this is the one I tend to default to.
Re: Providence College for the Future of Heroics
I need to flush out their personalities, history, add a few more strengths and weaknesses, and add the img at the top (Not sure how to do that yet, had to google hexcodes. never heard of theme before), then I should be done. Please let me know if i need to change anything during my time in editing them.
Thanks,
Kame

Written Telepathy sounds cool!
I'll start working on the Character Sheets and should have them up and finished within the next few days. It's an hr till I go pick my daughter up from the sitters, then I work the rest of the week. I tend to take my ipad with me and at least do all the info, and save pictures for later.
Re: Providence College for the Future of Heroics
Just for the sake of adding the reservations, I'm gonna call that communication power Written Telepathy, until I'm told otherwise. And I'm gonna put her in the Defense and Rescue class, again, until I'm told otherwise. Just say if you want either of these changed.
Re: Providence College for the Future of Heroics
Student for Combat: - Power of Enhanced Strength.
FACECLAIM: Kamenashi Kazuya
Student for Research and Development, or Defense and Rescue. Power is the Siren Physiology(With possible merfolk tied into it <--- Undecided over merfolk physiology tied into it)) You can decide based on her powers.
FACECLAIM: Kitagawa Keiko
Forgot to mention one thing. - Twins share a special power, and just this one. They can comunicate via writing on their skin. If the Female twin writes her brother a message on her arm, it will appear in the exact same spot on his arm.
Re: Providence College for the Future of Heroics
I will have it up within the next half hour. Just finalizing face claims, have many to choose from.
Re: Providence College for the Future of Heroics
Re: Providence College for the Future of Heroics
There is so many to choose from, and the rules are very simple. I'm huge on communication so no problem there. If anything I over communicate.
Just a quick question: can a student or professor be from one of the other universes?
Re: Providence College for the Future of Heroics
Just as a heads up, I've posted up a Roleplayers Wanted thread, which also contains some extra info on my kind of headspace going into the game. Not at all required to play, but you might wanna know if that's something you're into knowing, or if you wanna go in and post your own headspace going in. I know Forum Roleplays don't generally do that kind of stuff, but that's been my kind of style as a GM for years, so I thought I might kind of give it a try here, see if it works.

And also, his power will be water manipulation, or hydrokinesis.
Re: Providence College for the Future of Heroics
Mind if I ask who that is, just out of curiosity?
