"Hopefully this won't take all day." Azrael said softly, he felt chilly, maybe because he was nervous, or just because it was cold outside. His warm light brown slightly freckled nose was reddish from the cold, he laid his white long hair over his right shoulder to keep that side warm, for it was the way the winds were blowing. He had been waiting for about 10 minutes. He got a message online that told him about people like him...so called 'Psychics'. He always knew he was different, and he even tried to hide it, and succeeded very well. But it seemed not well enough if someone knew what he was fully capable of.

He hugged himself, he wore a white hoodie that was two sizes to big for him, a pair of blue pajama pants with 'Tom and Jerry' on them, and a pair of black house shoes that he was pretty happy didn't get wet. Even if he came close to stepping in a puddle, he could just freeze it over a couple seconds and he would be in the clear. He looked up at a light post nearby, he has been practicing his skills for some time now, though he didn't know if he reached his full potential he thought that he got pretty far. He gazed at the light, bowing his head slightly, his crystal blue eyes were fixated on bulb. Immediately a blue frosted covering surrounded the glass, before cracking slightly, he tilted his head still looking at it. It begun to flicker, though he broke his concentration when he got a text message.

"Hey, where are you? You still coming to the party tonight?" The text said, he smiled a little then responded with another text,"Oh, I went to the library,"He lied, then he looked around, and a serious look crossed his face,"I don't know if I can make it for sure yet. I'll text you later and see." He sent the message, uneasy that he just lied to his friend. Though he knew that it was best if he was the only one that knew about this. After his little experiment with the light bulb, he really didn't feel that cold anymore, actually he thought it was getting warmer. He put his hands in his jacket pockets, and waited for someone else to arrive.

Aliza pursed her lips and shifted the book she was staring at from one hand to the other, tapping the back casing of her cell phone idly with one hand. She turned the page once, and again only a few moments later and squinted her eyes, her grip tightening on her phone.

There were three banks and a gas station at the corner of Broadway and Wall Street, as well as a major intersection. Aliza found it hard to believe that out of the twenty-five odd video cameras within range, not one of them was in a suitable position to see her or anyone that should approach her. Hacking cameras was one of the first tricks Aliza had ever learned, right after she got bored with breaking into other people's social networking accounts. Few companies bothered with any sort of obstacles when it came to security cameras past keeping people from knocking them offline. They were wide open to the unique type of virus she seemed to be able to use to influence the internet. She rubbed her head for a moment, wishing that she could coax the traffic camera directly across the street just a little more to the left. In her mind, she could identify the barest sliver of the back of her shoulder.

Suddenly, she sighed and closed her book with a thump. 'What am I even doing here?' she snapped internally, and then had to take a deep breath to keep herself from projecting. While she was just in sync with the web, projecting didn't have much of an effect outside of confusing the hell out of a few web designers, but when she was snooping somewhere she wasn't supposed to, it left unwanted traces that could lead back to her phone or her laptop or directly to her. Aliza wasn't exactly sure on the details. Hell, she wasn't exactly sure about anything when you got down to it.

The facts were: Most people (all people) are unable to absorb binary and computer data by touch, but Aliza could. Even fewer could make this data into something they could see or smell or hear or taste. But somehow, Aliza could. She had no memory of a time when she couldn't.

Also, a few days ago, she'd found some hokey message while she was surfing. Some ridiculous babble about not being alone and answers. And psychics. Utter trash, basically. Aliza wasn't a psychic. She was just... something else.

So, what was she doing at the corner of Broadway and Wall Street, waiting for a man... or a woman... she'd never met to tell her what could only, at most, be a waste of her time? Without an answer, Aliza just sighed again and tried to identify any sort of remote adjustment system on one of the twenty-five odd cameras trained on the intersection.

Edmund peered over his book at the crowd outside, waiting for the light to turn. He flipped a few pages absently, turning his eyes back down and pointedly thinking only of how interesting the book was. To his left, in another of the chairs the Border's Bookstore had so conveniently provided by the very window he needed to watch, Alisha hissed out a breath. "Technopath chickie and a Cryo boy, so far. I think we should move in boss, the Techie is considering clearing out, and the Cryo has dinner plans. If we wait too long we might lose one of them."
Brow furrowing a bit, Edmund habitually translated this into a concern over one of the characters in the book. If Burr was waiting for someone, but really didn't think they would come, how long would she wait? And if Dan was there too, but she didn't know it, how did that effect her situation? And if the rest of the gang would be there soon, should they be stopped from leaving now, or traded off for more?
"Well. I think I have an idea on how to fix that." The corner of his mouth turning up in a small smile, Edmund reached out with his mind towards the crowd, just as the light began to turn. Sure enough, two of crowd hadn't moved. Gently nudging the foot of a passing businessman, he sent the suit stumbling towards the Cryo boy, which would hopefully, in turn, send him tumbling into the girl. Nothing like a good introduction... a bit of conversation to keep you where you were.
Settling back in his seat, he flipped another page of his book. It really was quite interesting, wonderfully written, he was getting pretty well into it when...
Alisha practically jumped out of her seat. "Techie's scanning cameras!" Instantly, she shot a glance at the store cameras nearby, face contorted into that of a eavesdropper caught outside the door. Before she could give them away, Edmund quickly pulled her back down.
"Good job," he sighed. "Now she probably knows we're here."

"Move it! Stupid girl!"

Physically fragile and delicate in every way, a figure of a lithe female had fallen towards the cold pavement of the street. It seemed she had unconsciously bumped into a rude man that instead of offering a kind hand had given her cruel words. Chivalry had truly vanished during this era. Simply ignoring the words directed at her person, she gaze at her clothes that had a few dirt here and there. It was little of her concern however, the tiniest detail was important to her as of now. Maybe it is due to the nervousness she was feeling as of now. Whatever the case maybe, she had mustered enough courage to even stepped out from her house. Her parents were surprised when she told them that she was going out to meet someone. They had the expression of both joy and worry. Well, it was only common after witnessing their daughter who isolated herself from the world to be making an effort to join it again, if they only the truth of her situation.

Dismissing such thoughts for now, she needed to stand for now. It seemed she had been catching attention from passersby and how she hated it. She would rather suffer being in solitude than being the center of attraction. However, before she could stand a hand appeared before her. It earned her surprised and curiosity as her eyes followed its arms towards the owner's face. The person was a female with a gentle smile upon her face. She was not someone that can capture the attention of everyone but she was not also a plain Jane. One could also see she is a middle-aged woman truly older than her. However, she caught her attention due to the fact of helping the fallen female with a kind smile upon the woman's passerby's face.

"Are you okay Miss? Here, let me help you up."

Taking the offered hand, she managed to stand on her feet once again easily. Speechless due to the unexpected act, she remained silent for a moment. However remembering her manners, she immediately opened her mouth and spoke of her gratitude to the stranger who helped her so sincerely.

"Thank you..."

Due to her timid nature, it sounded more of a whisper as she fidgeted from her position. She was never used interacting with other people except towards her parents. It seemed that the kind woman understood her personality and gave a gentle smile. In those brief moments, she had seen a terrifying thing. She quickly retrieve her hand from the woman and stepped away from her. Across her face can be seen utter horror and shock, she was shaking her head briskly. Placing her hands over her face and closing her eyes tightly, she knew that tears were already flowing from her eyes.

"Dear, are you alright?"

The older woman was about to touch her once again which she vehemently avoided. Not completely, removing her hands from her face, she can see the surprise on the other woman's face. How could she suffered such and remain like that as if nothing happened. How could she. Stepping away from her further, she continued to shake her head. People were staring at them intently and she knew that they were thinking of her as rude and cruel. However, they do not know what she was suffering from. No one can never understand her. No one, so what gives them right to judge her. Knowing she had to get away from the place, she quickly run towards some unknown direction.

"Hey!"

Stopping from her mad dash, she gazed at the road before her. She was almost hit by a car. She almost died and that thought did not bother her at all. However, it seemed fate had more plans for her which she greatly dreaded each day of waking life. Maybe it was wrong for her to even leave the safety of her room because of an online message she had found while randomly reading several sites that could explain her situation. However, she never came across anything useful except the message one week ago. Taking a deep breath, she looked at the street sign beside her to know where her feet had taken her. It was really a surprise to see she had arrived at the location cited on the message.

"I hope it was not hoax or something..."

A puff of smoke drifted lazily from behind the cover of a newspaper... last weeks issue of the Times with the headline that read "Psychic Cop Catches Origami Murderer." Idiots... he wasn't a psychic. He attributed his success to his strong gut instinct and a touch of luck. It was all fun and games at the department until weird things started landing in his private messages on the department's public forums. "We understand, there are more people like you! You are not alone! Meet us at the corner of Broadway and Wall St." Well, why was he here? Mostly curiosity... and a burning desire to find out who was invading his privacy. He pulled on his cigarette, inhaling the vapors and holding his breath until his lungs started to burn before exhaling a silky trail of smoke and flipping the top of his newspaper down a little so he could see the intersection over it.

He knew it was a little cliche, but there were only so many places to watch an intersection from, and a parked car was too obvious. He'd have taken up residence in the nearby bookstore, but the bench in the window he had been looking at was already occupied by a wound up woman and a thin man that was far too engrossed in his book to be normal. Instead he'd chosen a patio table at a small cafe nearly half a block away on Wall St where he could observe both the book store and the intersection without being too conspicuous. Z'har took a sip of the lukewarm coffee on his table and slid the crumb laden dish where a creme pastry had once resided to the edge of the table when he peered over his newspaper to check the intersection again.

Fate... instinct... luck. Something drew his eye to the corner just as one of the pedestrians at the light tripped and bumped into another younger boy. His eyes darted down the street a little where there was a little commotion involving a frail looking girl, and then to the bookstore when the wound up looking woman shot out of her seat staring at one of the cameras before she was pulled back down by the man engrossed in reading.

"Huh... Deja vu," he muttered into his coffee before expertly flicking the ash off the end of his cigarette with a click of his teeth and taking another drag. He pursed his lips and took a moment to casually blow smoke rings up over his head before tucking the cigarette back into the corner of his mouth. The whole thing seemed strikingly similar to a dream he'd had a couple nights ago, but at least he knew who was watching out for him now.

Amateurs. They had more or less been faces in a crowd until then, but they'd successfully caught his attention. Z'har ordered another pastry when the waitress came by to refill his coffee, smiling and flirting naturally then propping a foot up on his knee and folding his paper over so he could scan the comics section. He'd never once turned his head towards the intersection, and he'd placed himself far enough away so that anyone in that area couldn't rightly tell where his eyes were pointed... unless they had telescopic vision or something, in which case it wouldn't really matter. Barring ocular superpowers giving him away, all he had to do now was play the waiting game: He'd wait for them to leave and then use his badge to get the security footage from the store so he could run profiles on them. Z'har let a bit of a grin tickle the corner of his mouth, feeling like he was pushing one of his knights into a perfect flanking position.

Next to him, Alisha, who'd managed to be quiet for the past five minutes, sniffled slightly. "Poor girl. We've got a Memoropath and Psychometric, just come in. I think we better move in, boss. The Memo is gonna sense me soon, and the Metric, who's a cop, by the way, fucking awesome, pretty much just noticed everyone. Including us." The sense of urgency in her tone was almost comical, and she looked about ready to burst from her chair and meet the newbies. She liked people, Alisha. Very good at making friends. That's why Gray kept her on Immigration. She helped to... ease people in.

Putting down his book, Edmund sighed, steepling his fingers as he thought. "Just give them a moment more, to notice each other." He was growing a tad impatient as well. It was nearing noon, and he needed the group of them at the ferry by 1 o' clock. But most of what his job was about was "easing people in", smoothing the process somewhat, to make people less resentful for what he did. And it certainly helped that for them to have a friend to complain to.

He checked his watch. It was a quarter to noon. The explanation usually took fifteen minutes, another fifteen minutes for them to make the inevitable choice, and then about twenty minutes to get to the ferry. That logic holding up, the alarm of his clock set itself to go off at 1:10. Twenty five minutes.

Edmund leaned back against the bench, lazily flickering his gaze across the city, watching them go about their business in his periphery. "Just let 'em notice each other," he repeated softly.

Aliza's brows drew together sharply and she tilted her head back slightly. Stop, isolate that last stream of data, about ten seconds through. She could practically see the streams and streams of binary that signified light, tone, and color and how those variables changed over time. The slip of video was from the camera across the street, she wasn't sure what kind of store it was though and she didn't care. What she was interested in was the couple smack in the middle of the frame. At first everything was calm, but then, with no warning, the girl jerked and stared straight at her.

Of course, really it was the camera she was looking at, but there was something about the expression in her eyes. What was that she was saying? Aliza performed the necessary algorithims to isolate and clarify in her head. Ther techie is scanning--

Suddenly, something shoved roughly against Aliza's arm, sending her phone clattering to the ground. The picture in her head cut short, as if it were a tv and someone had pulled out the cable.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" She spat, snatching her phone from the cement.

With a deep breath, Myr attempted to make her way through the hordes of people. It was nearly impossible to navigate her way through the sidewalks. There were so many people of all ages, sex and race just speed walking to their destinations, ignorant of the people around them. With a nice warm cup of coffee between her hands, Starbucks band, Myrin moved forward cautiously. A part of her cringed every time a person brushed up against her or came too close, she didn’t know what may happen if they touched; where she would be or what she would see was always a mystery to her.
“It’ll all be fine.” She kept muttering to herself reassuring words as her thoughts drifted back to the night before. She’d been on google in the middle of the night when a particular site caught her attention. It was more than enough to make her blood freeze. Everything had been so right, so accurate and she needed to find out more. So here she was, on Wall st. with her overly expensive coffee and not enough clothes to keep her warm. A skirt? Why did she think it would be smart to wear a skirt down here? Turning the coffee in her hands, Myr nearly dropped it as a woman she had just passed yelled out. "What the hell do you think you're doing?"

“W-what?” she mumbled before realizing the woman wasn’t speaking to her but actually directing her anger towards the man who’d pushed her. Biting the inside of her cheek nervously, Myrin realized she had made a mistake and attempted to look away in order to pretend she “wasn’t there.” An anxiety started to fill her stomach as she nervously checked her watch. The time was drawing near yet she was unsure if she was ready. What if it was a joke? Some kind of “Ha! You’ve been punked!” Any minute now, Asthon Kutcher would come screaming from the corner with the cameras waiting. Ha, she just realized that was only for an actress or rapper. Someone important. Her fingers drummed against her coffee lightly, it was cold.

Jerked out of his lazy reverie by the beeping of his watch, Edmund sat up suddenly, looking directly at each of his targets for the first time in twenty minutes. They were all still there. Playtime was over.
Standing up, he straightened his suit, Alisha next to him smoothing out her blouse, her eyes fogged over in a continual state of thinking other's thoughts. "We got another boss. Look." Her hand slowly drifted up, finally pointing at a girl in a skirt who looked like she was trying to decide between being scared and being skeptical.
"Big haul today. One, two, three, four... Five. Five of 'em. This isn't gonna be easy." Sighing in a resigned sort of way, he reached out to each of them simultaneously, giving them all a small tap on the shoulder closest to him. Behind him, he heard a small clank as Alisha pulled a sign from it's resting place in the slats between the bench, holding it up so all of them could see it's large, clear letters.
"PSYCHICS"

A hand touched her shoulder causing the poor girl to jump with fright. Her coffee fell from her hands, spilling everywhere as the cup rolled towards the curb. A few white collars looked at her oddly before turning their noses to the sky and moving on with their business. Awkwardly Myrin turned around to see man and a woman staring at them from within Boarders. The woman was holding a sign that read “PSYCHICS.” It was really an odd scene and she couldn’t help but look around to see if anyone else noticed.
Rubbing her hands together, Myr took a breath. It was now or never, she thought as her hand held open the door. The smell of books and coffee hit her instantly which made her calm. Still normal so far. Inching herself closer to the duo, the red haired girl couldn’t help but tremble a bit as they were in reach of each other. Her right hand went into her pocket as she pulled out a wrinkled and nearly torn piece of paper. With a deep breath, Myr spoke. “Igotthisfromamessagingboard!!!” She squeeked and practically thrust the paper into the man’s hands. Trying to remain calm, she spoke again. “I-it said you could help…?”

The desheveled teen who had so rudely interrupted her snapped something scathing in return, while Aliza made a rude gesture, her free hand tight around her phone. But it was too late. The moment was over and by the time she got back into the system, it would really be no good. Some little slip of a girl jumped and made an inquiring squeak, as if Aliza had been talking to her. She promptly turned red when she realized she was wrong. Aliza just sneered and turned back around, hoping she would be able to find something useful once more, but someone (probably the jumpy girl) tapped her on the shoulder. "Yeah, what is..."

PSYCHICS

Aliza stared, dumbfounded, at the sign and then at the crowd around her. Already people around her were murmuring, some laughing and as always, some couldn't care less. What kind of stunt was this? What was more, the twitchy girl across from her scrambled from her place on the corner and went straight into the bookstore, twisting her hands so hard they might well have popped off.

Aliza couldn't move. Not so much that she didn't want to, which was often the case, but something kept her frozen to her seat. It was ridiculous. It was abso-frickin'-lutely ridiculous. Psychics were just delusional people with gullible victims. And weren't psychics supposed to read minds and move crap? Not whatever it was Aliza could do...

All she could do was square her shoulders, stand and march into the bookstore across the street. "Psychics, huh?" she said, arching an eyebrow, to the guy hanging around under the sign. "What do you have to tell me?"

Edmund didn't speak as Alisha reeled this one in. Her words came out in a rush, the difficulty of making her mouth move as fast as the woman's thoughts evident.
"Your name is Aliza, you think psychics are just delusionals with a gullible herd following them, and you've been scanning the cameras with your mind for a while now, and you saw me until you dropped your phone. Take a seat, we'll explain more in a moment."
It always made Gray want to laugh when Alisha spoke seriously. Her childlike, impatient voice made the words sound strange. For good measure, he lifted a book from a shelf purely on psychic power, drifting it over to Aliza and dropping it in front of her on the floor. Turning to her now, he spoke softly. From what Alisha had said, this one was on the borderline of belief. She didn't know what she was, but she didn't think it was psychic. Or at least, she wasn't sure.
"I think you'll like that one," he said, nodding down at the book. "But if you don't, feel free to ask for a different one. It's no trouble. Everything will be explained soon, but I don't know how long it'll be until all of them are here. There are three more coming, please be patient."

PSYCHICS!

Z'har put his paper down and visibly rolled his eyes. At least they weren't pretending to hide anymore and he could probably arrest them for disturbing the peace, or something else equally as inane and hold them in a cell for 24 hours... that aught to teach them a lesson about privacy and it being respected. He left a ten dollar bill on the table and grabbed his fresh pastry before slurping down the remains of his coffee and starting the walk towards the book store. It was quick, even on the crowded streets: Z'har was an imposing figure and people tended to get out of his way when he walked rather than risk being trampled by him because he might not have seen them walking there. He pushed his way into the bookstore purposefully and made his way to the "meeting spot" with a grim look in his red eyes.

"Alright, you two can come with me to the station for a little talk," he said, pointing at Gray and the woman and flashing his badge... also having just missed the thin man's display of psychic prowess. He did his best to look nonplussed and cop-like, which wasn't hard for him in the first place being as big as he was. "Just want to ask you some questions."

"Maybe it was just a hoax... I am so gullible."

Lowering her gaze to the pavement, she released a big sigh. It was such a regretful thing for her to leave the safety of her home and for that she suffered a horrifying vision that would never leave her mind as the other visions she had. In relation to that, she stood there at that corner as if a statue. The people passed her as if she was a meaningless existence that was not needed to be bothered with. She wanted to not be affected by her surroundings however, she easily gets hurt by the simplest things maybe that is why she developed this kind of ability. It was her curse as she labeled it and how she wanted it to be lifted it from her. She only wanted to be normal not to be a freak or anything. Taking a deep breath, she gazed at her wristwatch to see the time. It was 1:10, it seemed that her hope of being able to get some information or even help was simply a joke.

"I guess, I should just go home..."

With that said, she prepared herself to walk towards the direction to her house. The mode of transportation could be helpful however, she would need to interact with people and at that moment she does not have enough willpower to do such a thing. The possibility to see something terrifying again holds her as a captive perfectly. However, she felt a slight jolt circulating her body. It had been innate to her to sense certain unlikely things that would be related to her. Instinct or just pure luck, she had never been wrong. Someone was watching her and expecting her. It gave her an unrecognizable feeling. She decided to put aside her plan to go home. Maybe her trip here was not a big hoax after all. Maybe.

"Where?"

Letting her senses lead her instinctively, her emerald eyes seemed to scan the area and to be in a trance as she pinpointed certain individuals around her that seemed to be connected by a certain string. There was a man waiting at the corner of the street like her, a woman engrossed with the CCTV, another woman carrying coffee, a man at the cafe, and the pair of onlookers at the bookstore. The woman at the bookstore took her attention mostly. It was as if for a moment their minds connected only for a brief while. Because, it was in that few seconds that influx of jumbled memories from these people filled her mind. She abruptly cut the connection which made her fall to her knees. It was enough to cause a scene from the passersby. However, she was not in the condition to mind their curiosity.

"What... was that..."

Using the street pole as her support, she slowly rose to her feet. However, she was shaking due to the usage of her ability and the feeling of not knowing what was going to happen filled her emotional self. The memories that barged into her mind were too many to make sense and she did not want to ponder on it because they were dreadful to begin with. Leaning on the pole, she closed her eyes and took a breather. She needed to calm herself and to gather enough courage to approach that woman in the bookstore. The possibility of her knowing something is really great.

In addition, fate seemed to be on her side as she felt a certain tap on her shoulder. Opening her eyes, she came in sight with a certain signboard which she was not entirely sure how to feel about. It was written very boldly and seen by everyone. "PSYCHICS". She immediately looked around her and witnessed the people sneering at the sign or simply ignoring it. The feeling of annoyance was evident within her. These people may look at it as some prank or madness. However, it is a salvation from her current plight so, she had to come here. Right?

Forming her resolve, she crossed the pedestrian to get across to the bookstore. She entered with much timidness and looked around. There were a lot of books and it was obvious since it was a store selling books. At that moment, she wanted to punch herself for being such an idiot thinking about a trivial matter. It may be due to the loud beating of heart because of nervousness. The possibility of it being a joke or truth was gnawing her insides. Finally arriving at the scene, she cannot help but have a curious look upon her face. The people she had seen in her mind a few moments earlier were here. The woman engrossed with the CCTV, The other woman carrying coffee and the man at the cafe. Is this what those strings meant?

"Uhmm...Hello?"

Re: Ψ Psi Ψ

Gar. To the rest of you, I'm not going to be avalible to poke you into posting until tomorrow at noon. It would tickle the depths of my heart if you could both manage to get your posts in by then. And if you've lost interest because it's been slow so far, here's the solution:
Post and make it less slow.

Either way, it's going to be getting interesting soon. As soon as we all get into Atlantis, I'm going to get the fighting started.

Re: Ψ Psi Ψ

I'm sorry, I have a life. the weekend is a busy time for me to post.

Re: Ψ Psi Ψ

What happened to my posters? Are we dead? Because if we are, that was a really disappointing run :/ Barely got a single post out of anyone. And that was with much prodding.

Re: Ψ Psi Ψ

The cutoff for character submissions and first posts is tomorrow, Feburary 23rd, 9:00PM EST. Get your character and at least your first post made by then, or you will not be able to progress further within the story. For those of you already in, you have a couple posts you can get in until then.

Re: Ψ Psi Ψ

I'll try and get something up tonight.

Re: Ψ Psi Ψ

I just realized that people actually posted. The Roleplay tab doesn't give notifications when posts are made on it to the people subscribed, so make sure you check it often.

Re: Ψ Psi Ψ

Oh I was hoping that someone would have made a pyro already for me to be roommates with...oh well. I'll change it for right now, though if we get a pyro I think it would be cool to be roommates. :D

Okay, I'll post shortly.

Re: Ψ Psi Ψ

You can start making your first posts on the tab. Our current location is here, which you have come to following a post on an online message board that described people with powers uncannily similar to your own. It was convincing enough to pull you from your home to New York City, where you await the arrival of your informant.

Re: [OOC] Psi

I suppose I have to say this again, and perhaps a bit louder,
CHARACTERS DO NOT KNOW ATLANTIS EXISTS.
CHARACTERS LIVE IN OUR WORLD, ALSO KNOWN AS THIS GREAT RP CALLED EARTH.
THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IN THEIR LIVES THEY ARE LEARNING OF OTHER PSYCHICS.
UNTIL I GET TO THAT INTERSECTION, YOU KNOW NOTHING EXCEPT A VAGUE IDEA OF YOUR OWN POWERS.

Re: [OOC] Psi

Technopaths must have a physical connection to a piece of technology that is connected in some way to the computer they are accessing, be it a keyboard, a wireless mouse, a headset, or even just an earbud. Since Technopathy is a weaker, more fine-tuned version of Magneto/Electropathy, they're using magnetic and electric currents to influence the technology, but these currents are very weak. They can only be projected about an inch from the body. So you'd have to either keep touching the car or be touching something wirelessly connected to the car to make it move.
Most of Atlantis is electronic. They have their own inner network that connects a lot of major systems, but this is closely monitored by the Police to keep Technopaths from meddling. Any more information about this would spoil the plot.

And a mistake that has already been made and I don't want to have made again, you don't know there's more psychics out there, really. You're a lone psychic, and if you want to bring another psy into it, you better be prepared to bring him in the whole way, he's not staying at home. Linger's pyro roommate either has to go or has to come with.
You're in a state of ignorance currently. You don't know that there are any other psychics in the world, unless you've met one, and you don't know anything about psychics, real psychics that is, that you haven't discovered on your own. The info you found told you only enough to interest you into coming to the location, nothing more. The people you're meeting now are the first psychics you should be meeting in your life.

EDIT:// You don't post that here, Xian, you post it in the Characters section on the Roleplay tab at the top, in the Psi symbol.

Re: [OOC] Psi

Name: Z'haran Ivheri (Say-ran Ivory)
Alias: Z'har (Say-er)
Age: 28
Gender: Male

Physical properties:
Tall and athletic, Z'har is nearly six feet tall and weighs in at just over 220 pounds. He struggles with his weight a little, and while he has a well built chest and arms, he is a little flabby about the waist due to detective work lacking physical demand. He carries a pale complexion and shock white hair... whether or not he dyes it, he won't say. Z'har's eyes are an odd shade of red and exhibit luminous properties when he manifests his powers. Tends to keep a professional manner of dress and prefers winter colors.

Personality:
Z'har has a dispassionate and unflappable demeanor even in the face of the most brutal crimes, a trait his teammates describe as: "a little creepy." He is intelligent and calculating and has a knack for saying the most inappropriate things at precisely the wrong time. Z'har is not the department's Public Relations spokesperson. He is often hesitant to use his Psychokinetic powers, preferring to use his department issued firearm unless the situation escalates even though he is quite capable. On an off note, he is quite a trick-shot with said firearm...

Primary Division: Psychokinesis (Normal)
Secondary Division: Psychometry
Tendencies: Sociopathic
EP: 7
Notes: On staff psychic for violent crime and murder investigations.

Re: [OOC] Psi

Mhhhn. Alright then. Questions, questions...

Alright, say I want to make a Technopath. And by that I mean I intend on making a Technopath.

One, by having the set 'telepathic' tendency, does that mean a Technopath can use it at a distance?
And two, how much of the technology in Atlantis is electronic? Will say, hypothetically (that's bullshit, I will do as much as physically possible), my character feels the need to direct a large vehicle at whoever happens to be standing in front of her. Would said vehicle be within the area?

Not that I'm set on a technopath though. I might just end up with her just envying technopaths.

Re: [OOC] Psi

Nope. All the psychics are either rounded up into Atlantis or die too quickly for anyone to realize they exist. Try to ask all your questions at once, I left a lot out of the main post to keep people from tl;dr'ing.

EDIT:// Btw, you can start posting immediately on Broadway and Wall. You're just waiting around, so put a bit of background and thoughts into the post.

Hoo

Re: [OOC] Psi

OK, first off (notice I'm leaving room for the great possibility of additional questions), this isn't a world where psychics are recognized, right? I assumed from the description of Broadway that there was some degree of secrecy.

Re: [OOC] Psi

lol, oh thank you...I was sitting here for like 10 minutes like...what can I put for my tendencies. >.<

Re: [OOC] Psi

Psychokinetic abilities don't really have Tendencies, except to other psychokinetic abilities. I would just put "None", if I were you.

Re: [OOC] Psi

What would be tendencies for Pyrokinesis & Cryokinesis?...I'm slightly(very) confused there. :/

Ψ Psi Ψ

Ψ
Psi is a plot RP, with a definitive beginning, middle, and end that I have planned out.
The theme is strongly psychic in a modern setting with NPC-to-player combat and character-to-character romantic opportunities.
The locations and events that are to take place will be revealed as you go on.

The rules are:
All posts must occur on the Roleplay in the Roleplay Tab
All OOC must be in this thread.
Non-harmful or non-invasive godmodding is permitted.
Characters must be over age 15.
Character profiles submitted must have the following infosheet in the Description.

Code: Select all

Primary Division:
Secondary Division:
Tendencies:
EP:
Notes:

Please take into account that this form is supposed to be an official document, much like a driver's license. It is called a Psi Card, and you will officially receive one at some point in the RP.

Primary Division is the type of psychic you are in the most general terms. The Primary Divisions are:
Psychokinesis - The causation of physical phenomena through mental focus.
Clairvoyance - The viewing of events or objects through contact or spontaneously.
Telepathy - Interaction with the minds of other humans through your own.

Secondary Division is the more specific type of psychic power you have, within your Primary Division. The breakdown is as follows.

Psychokinesis
Normal - Regular psychokinesis, simple moving of objects.
Pyrokinesis - The manipulation and increase of heat energy.
Cryokinesis - Pyrokinetics who are only able to lower heat energy.
Technopathy - Manipulation and interfacing with computers through the mind (immediate Telepathic tendency). pressing keys with your mind doesn't count
Electropathy - The manipulation and causation of electrical discharge, but not fine-tuned enough to manipulate technology. This also extends to Magnetopathy, since the two are related.

Clairvoyance
Precognition - The foreseeing of future events.
Postcognition - The foreseeing of past events.
For Pre and Postcognition, the Tendencies are Sleep, when visions come only in dreams, Visual, when visions come during the day and overlap the senses, and Constant, when a steady stream of information about the future or past is feeding into the mind.
Psychometry - Immediate knowledge of everything that an object has been exposed to or is going to be exposed to during it's existence by touching it. This applies to humans as well.
Scrying - The viewing of events that are occurring in a given location at the present point in time without removing the consciousness from the body.
Projection - Purposefully removing one's consciousness from the body and moving it to see areas that your physical body cannot.

Telepathy
Normal - The reading of a person's current thoughts.
Empathy - The reading of a person's current feelings and sensations.
Sensopathy - A form of Empathy where it is possible to cause hallucinations that include full touch, smell, and taste.
Memoropathy - The reading and manipulation of a person's memories. (Memoropaths can also read minds, but with a large delay. This delay does not factor into the EP.)

Tendencies are specific trends that are noticed within a certain power, like Memoropaths being only able to read painful memories, Empaths only reading negative emotions (Sociopathy), precognitives only seeing things relating to a certain place, object, or person, and so on.

EP, or Estimated Power, is a scale of one through ten, decimals included, of how strong a psychic someone is in their given field. For Psychokinesis and Memoropathy, this is measured by how much they can effect (e.g. ten pounds of lift vs. 1,000 pounds of lift, remove one year of memory vs. remove ten years of memory), and for Clairvoyance and Telepathy, this is measured by how detailed the visions or readings are (exact coordinates, colors, details, etc.).

Here are the scales for the Primary Divisions:
Psychokinesis
Normal - Measured in terms of how much a person can lift compared to their body weight (body weight must be included after score). Every +1 to the multiple is .5 on the scale, ex. Lift your body weight is 0, lift twice your body weight is 0.5, lift three times is 1, lift 20 times your body weight is 10.
Pyrokinesis - Every degree increase (F) per second is .2 on the scale. A Pyro with a score of 1 can increase an object's temperature 5 degrees per second.
Cryokinesis - Same principle as above except for decrease.
Technopathy - Hard to measure, usually uses ten firewalls of varying strength and complication to measure. One is your typical Windows Firewall, ten is the CIA database. All technopaths can interface with computers as if they were using the mouse and keyboard, though.
Electropathy - The amount of volts the electropath can produce. Every ten volts is .2 on the scale.

Clairvoyance
Precognition - 1 is seeing blurry figures, 10 is being able to recall absolutely everything about the object viewed.
Postcognition - See precognition.
Psychometry - See precognition.
Scrying - See precognition.
Projection - The distance your awareness can move from your body. Every 100 meters is 1 on the scale.

Telepathy
Normal - How fast comprehension of the person's thoughts is. Every 1/4th of a second delay is -1 on the scale, 10 being immediate.
Empathy - How specific emotional readings are. Only being able to differentiate happy and sad, or only able to point to a body part as a source of pain, is 1, where being able to identify several emotions and how strong each one is, where it came from, and being able to pinpoint sources of pain, is a 10.
Sensopathy - Measured on the believability of the simulations.
Memoropathy - How clearly you can see the memories, and how far back you can view. See Precognition.

Notes are one to two sentences explaining how the person's powers have effected their personality or life.

Sample Psi Cards.

Primary Division: Psychokinesis
Secondary Division: Technopathy
Tendencies: Telepathy
EP: 7.5
Notes: Pursued career with Microsoft for some time, chief programmer of Vista.

Primary Division: Telepathy
Secondary Division: Empathy
Tendencies: Sociopathy
EP: 9
Notes: Inability to feel other's joys has lead subject to believe she is the only true, feeling person in the world, and cares little for the lives of others, who in her mind are filled only with hate and despair.
((Side note, for the most part, psychokinetic abilities, excluding Technopathy (which has Tendencies correlating to operating systems, Internet, and other things), don't really have Tendencies. Just put "None."))

Primary Division: Clairvoyance
Secondary Division: Precognition
Tendencies: Danger, Constant
EP: 2
Notes: Subject is largely unmarred by physical wounds due to ability to constantly predict harm to self and those nearby moments in advance.
