Adrien King

Am I crazy or does money ROCK!

0 · 2,900 views · located in Psy Prep

a character in “Psy Prep”, as played by Jadebud98

Description

Name: Adrien King

Appearance:
Image
(A more accurate picture of him than the last one) Adrien has black hair and green eyes and he stands at around 5"7. His usual outfit consists of a dark blue coat, sweater vest, a shirt, and a tie. He also wears gloves and recently, a scarf given to him by Chandler. When it's more hot than usual he wears just normal T-shirts and shorts, etc. However, he does have a lot of designer clothes. You will almost never see Adrien not smiling.
Age: 16

Power: Illusions.

Sexual Preference: Unsure.

Personality: Adrien is a very extroverted person with a desire to have fun. Adrien at first was going through a cycle of adoption centers and foster parents until he gave up, running away to live on the streets. Homeless, and without any one to take care of him, Adrien had to go through life fending for himself. He only recently utilized his powers to create dollar bills and so he's new to having money and is loving it. The problem with his power is that when he uses them they get extremely out of control. He gets a thrill out of adventure and trying new things. He also enjoys playing pranks and scaring others, this sometimes activates his powers though causing damage to those he's playing a joke on.

Adrien is new to the concept of people, so getting along with others may not be a breeze. He'll probably seem a bit overwhelming to people he wants to be friends with because he just wants to see what it's like on the other side. He is also a curious person, and that curiosity can cause problems as well.

Adrien's desire for friendship is probably derived from the fact that he has felt as though others never cared about him throughout his life. He despised the feeling of loneliness that he had to go through so he wants to make up for it now, and experience the fullest out of it.

So begins...

Axel blinked in surprise at Adrien's comment on the state of his nose, then put two fingers to the area between his nose and upper lip, raising his eyebrows at the resultant rusty-brown smearing that appeared on his fingers.

"Oh!" Axel said in shock, regaining himself as quickly as he could,"Yeah, about that, I think I may have had an ever-so-minor, mild, pesky aneurysm yesterday, and my powers are on the blink. Haven't been able to use them like I used to." To elaborate, Axel winced as he created a rust-red ball of aura, which dispersed into the blood-like mist from before, now slowly wafting through the hot, damp air and smelling slightly of iron. As Axel looked down, he saw the blood in the water surrounding him, and laughed in embarrassment. "Whoops, guess I should have cleaned up a bit. Excuse me." He then rose out of the water and walked over to the sink, splashing cold water on his face to clean the blood off.

As the water stung his face, he thought about telling Adrien his findings on what he was. He was a cool enough guy, but Axel didn't want anyone else getting in trouble if he ended up being considered a failed experiment. The thought had been on his mind since earlier, and for good reason: people had seen what he WAS capable of, and he was pretty sure this Ziles character did too. So he was pretty sure that if he revealed any more of himself than he had to, there would be more than a few problems. Which, of course, made him realize that he had just revealed his loss of power to Adrien. As he slid back into the hot spring, now clean of blood, he faced Adrien, a look of concern on his face.

"Do NOT tell anyone about my loss of power, though. I don't want any more concern going around than necessary, and none of it should be for me, understand?" His tone had an almost careless sound to it, as if he was just trying to maintain his image, rather than his life.

Adrien

Adrien was even more worried and shocked after hearing what Axel had said. "If all that happened what are you doing here? You should be in the Nurses Office!" He exclaimed, a concerned tone obvious in his voice. He didn't see Axel use his powers too often, but even so they looked hindered when he showed them to him. After a while he heard Axel laughing as he saw the color of the water around him, but even so, Adrien was still worried.

Adrien sat deeper into the soothing water as Axel left to clean the blood off of his face. With this time he began thinking to himself, he was slightly confused about so many things when dealing with other people. The only time he ever got to learn about what was considered right or wrong was when he was still going through adoption processes...when he ran away from all of that, when he was homeless, things were much more difficult, but there was a lot more freedom and there weren't many things considered wrong.

Adrien snapped out of his thoughts once he heard Axel speaking again, telling him not to tell anyone about his loss of power, hoping no one would have to be concerned or worried for him. He wasn't sure how to handle a situation like this because of his lack of experience with others, which was kind of annoying because he wanted to be able to handle it. "...If you don't want me to tell anyone I won't tell the other students...but you still have to go to the Nurses and tell them, there could be something wrong and it's better to be safe than sorry."

Axel, as soon as Adrien mentioned the nurses, blasted out of the water, leaving a yellowish spot in the water from the blood, and not from anything else(No, seriously, just the blood).

"The nurses! Now I remember!" he said, his voice rather raised, and began dressing, falling over in his efforts to get his pants leg over his false one, then just groaning, ripping it off, and making one out of his aura, noting that it was the ONE thing that didn't cause him any stress on his mind. Must have been due to how often he'd done it. As he dressed, he explained himself to Adrien.

"I was on my way here when I smelled blood in the air in the hall. Not my blood, mind you, the kind that sits in the air after a death, rot. I just passed it off as the result of my bit of cranial bleeding, but it's a bit too off, now that I think about it! Your mentioning the nurses reminded me!" As he dashed out of the springs, grabbing his prosthetic as he went, he went by his nose, which was pulling him closer and closer to the smell of necrosis, until he slid to a stop in front of... Some dude with the look of a vagabond and James(Ha, made you think he was going to find the dead nurses, didn't I?), who was standing a good fifteen feet from the guy, and for good reason. The stench of death coming off of him could gag a maggot. Axel, however, hadn't gotten the memo until he was right in front of the guy.

"WHOOF!" he said, taking a few steps back in surprise, then regaining his composure, doing his best to ignore the stink, the latter part being surprisingly easy. Probably because his nose had just decided to shut down. "Well, that answers my questions on both the smell and the number of students here!". Seeing the brochure in the new guy's hand, he extended a hand in greeting, glad he was wearing his gloves. "Name's Axel. Axel Lerate. Not to be rude, but you smell like you just climbed out from an early grave. Or a late one."

Adrien

He wasn't sure if Psy Prep was exactly the right environment for him to truly learn what was deemed right and wrong by society. But he just had to hope for the best, and continue learning and growing, not only with his powers, but as a person as well. He didn't realize he was in deep thought again until Axel burst out of the water, startling him again.

As Axel changed and explained his hastiness, Adrien listened on, curious about what the source of the scent Axel was talking about was. A scent of death and rot...it couldn't be right for a scent like that to be in the school. Maybe it was just garbage, or bad food. For a moment a bad thought came to Adrien's mind that it was those who were missing but he quickly brushed that aside, there was no way that could be the case. But still, he was curious, and maybe a bit worried.

"Wait for m-" he began saying but Axel was already out the door, even if he was struggling to put his clothes on for a moment. "You really have to stop having long thoughts when other people around," he said to himself aloud, leaving the hotsprings and wrapping his towel around his waist. He quickly moved into the lockerroom, drying himself off and putting his clothes on, deciding to just take his shoes and socks by hand until he caught up to Axel.

When he was done he left the room and looked around, thinking he saw Axel in the distance, and verifying it with the odor that was coming from where he was heading to. Adrien followed Axel and the scent, eventually stopping by Axel and James while Axel was greeting the new student and commenting on his scent. Adrien smiled widely at the sight of a new student, and though he came with an odor Adrien tried to push it aside, trying not to pay much attention to it. He put on his socks and shoes as they greeted each other before standing up again, "And I'm Adrien! What's your name?" He asked, waving his hand at the newcomer. The sight of a new person hindered him from noticing that James was upset, and the fact that he had to get Axel to the Nurse's office, but new things and people were always things that grabbed Adrien's attention.

Ms. Marino watched from the video cameras as the students conjugated in one area, making surveillance much easier. She wouldn't allow any of them to leave or get taken under her watch. At the same time she continued monitoring the status of the Nurse's Office. Luckily everything was cleaned up from what she could see, and some teachers were filling in temporary Nurse positions until they hired new ones. Everything seemed to be getting better, and if Ziles did manage to round up the students there would be nothing left to worry about.

James Black

His eyes held him. Red. Bloody. Laced with horrors and unknown fears. James felt his knees giving out, or perhaps the earth beneath him wanted to sway. Neither he could be sure of. He just knew that no matter how he felt at that moment, it didn't compare to the gears churning behind those eyes.

"Mort-"

Someone interrupted him. Axel. James was impressed with his honesty and James noticed how he had tiptoed himself around the subject of smell. Mortimer's face distinctly trumped the smell, but Axel seemed unfazed or highly adaptable. As did Adrien when he appeared at his side. James wondered if his current vulnerable state had his mind so jumbled that he found the worst in everything.

Their appearance was slightly reassuring though. At least they were safe. Throat thick, he wondered softly about Zara again, his phone unmoved.

Mortimer awaited James reply but before he was able to speak out a full sentence more people gathered. The first person introduced himself as Axel Lerate. The other person was Adrien. It was an interesting detail that both of these people looked very similar to each other, the only detail really separating them being Adrien's white scarf. He was never comfortable around crowds. The only reason people would gather around him in the past was to drive him off. This group of people all seemed friendly enough, all of them except James unfazed by his appearance.

Am I really that unremarkable? Or have they not noticed?

He wondered for a moment before Axel extended a hand to shake. Shaking hands, something he had only seen others do, never himself. It would be untrue to say he didn't have some performance anxiety.
Where on the hand do I hold? How long do I hold it for? How far do I shake up and down? Is that all there is to it? He asked himself all these questions and more within the sanctuary of his mind.

Reaching forward he grasped Axels hand with his right hand, his thumb just past the other hand's thumb. In a very stiff almost robotic motion he shook the hand up and down about a hands width. Mortimer's hand was a mismatched set of sewn on parts. His thumb, ring finger and pinky finger were all different from the rest of the hand in subtle ways and only really held on by his finely woven stitches. There was also a patch near the center of his palm that had almost worn through to the other side, a dark red hole of flesh about the size of a quarter. The skin around the index finger had rotted away as well, leaving the flesh underneath exposed. As Mortimer let go of Axel's hand a quiet sound most sickening, the sound of cold syrupy blood sticking to Axel's glove and peeling away from the areas of his hand the skin did not cover was heard.

"I am Mortimer." He answered Adrien's query before noticing the old stain of blood that remained under Axel's nose.

This was a concerning matter for him. Some would think that someone like Mortimer would be desensitized to blood seeing as he himself works with it all the time, cutting up dead bodies and the like. This would be ordinarily true but that only applies to dead people. There is not many corpses no matter how mauled that could disturb him but a living person is different. He understands very well that people bleed when they are hurt. Unlike himself, when people lose limbs they can't just put it back on. People suffer, people get hurt, people die. He has always been around the dead, fresh and old, but only twice in his history has he seen someone make the transition from living to dead. These instances left their mark deep in Mortimer's relatively young psyche. Blood in itself does not bother him but he is very sensitive around other peoples pain and injuries.

"Are you hurt?" He asked Axel with only the slightest emotional expression of concern in his voice. His face showed no expression beyond the neutral state of gravitas he usually has.

Axel noticed the dried blood stick to his glove, and decided that he could spare a quick burst of aura. As he focused his aura around his hand, just microns over the surface, the very small bit of blood that had been left under his nose from after he'd washed himself clean disappeared, the rusty red of his aura taking its place colorwise. He grunted quickly, and the aura around his hand swelled, then popped, leaving the glove clean once more. The red fog that now remained after his aura dropped to the floor, spreading like cigarette smoke that's been chilled in a glass. He thought about the mist from back in the springs, and then realized how similar he and Adrien had looked. If it hadn't been for his missing leg then, and his better taste in cool-looking clothing now, he was pretty sure they would be almost indistinguishable, save Axel's being a couple inches taller.

"Eesh, the late Mortimer, it seems." Axel said, looking over his glove, just to be safe, "Eh, we're at a school where we're being taught to utilize powers that openly defy the laws of physics and apparently get sent out on life-or unlife, in your case-threatening missions for homework, the fact that I've just shaken hands with someone who is essentially a sentient zombie doesn't even faze me now. And as for the nosebleed, it's nothing, it was just a minor aneurysm." He shook the notion that something was wrong with him off like his nosebleed had been from stepping into the wrong side of the hot spring. "I've had worse. But regardless, I have a question. I'm guessing that your powers, based on the fact that half the muscles in your hand seem to be beyond ACTUAL working condition, yet do, involves a mix of both telekinetic control over your skeleton and the bones of others, so long as they're attached to you, and a sheer refusal to accept the fact that you're dead. I have to ask, because if I don't ask now, I'm going to be spending several nights sleepless thinking about it: Have you ever thought about giving yourself an extra pair of arms? Because that would be pretty cool." Hey, he's a synthetic life form, he can't really dislike someone based on whether that person is "living" or not. However, asking about making modifications is WELL within his bounds.

James

He couldn't believe how blase Axel was being. How easily he could accept Mortimer's appearance. And smell. Wanting to be polite was one thing. Completely disregarding reality another.

Or maybe he was the one lost from reality.

No replies from Zara.

Seeing Mortimer pretty much taken care of, James swallowed and turned away from the trio. He probably wouldn't need a third person showing him around the school or explain what they did there. Axel had that covered with his quick explanation. Shaking his head a little, shoulders slumping, he started off down the hall, slinking back to the dorms.

In his room, he curled up on the bed with his blue crystal, wondering how his mind had wandered so far from his usual self. Death did that, he figured, yet couldn't bring himself to mourn. How could he? It had been weeks since he saw his parents, and now he finds out that they were dead for days without his knowing? He hoped he was handling it well, but then felt the wet of tears on his cheeks.

Part of him wanted to be alone. That was the only way to deal with emotions. Hide them. It was a creed he lived by. But more so, he wanted to know at least his friends were okay. He needed that. Craved it after obsessing. Zara still wasn't answering his texts, so he tried Mikhail, then Hallie. Hoping for any kind of answer. Chandler. Zoe. Danny. Arian. Liesel.

Zara

She was certain she was asleep.

Yet, for whatever reason, everything looked so real....

It's just a dream, it's just a dream... she told herself. Yet a strange dream. Why was she dreaming of Mikhail sleeping next to Hallie? Or of Eve sleeping on the bed in front of her? Why was she dreaming of Ziles in the other room, or of Danny and Arian in a car? Who was this weird guy in her dream, standing in a hallway back at the school? Why were Axel and Adrien in her dream? Even James...

No! she shouted to herself, shaking her head, No, not him! Go away! Yet try as she might, she couldn't get rid of him. He didn't disappear. He still stayed there, texting on a phone, looking nervous. Looking scared. Who was he texting? Why did she care?

Although she couldn't make him vanish, she was able to move away. Weirdly. She saw a small cabin in the woods, the snow falling. Chandler was there. Sitting. But...all wrong...was that a knife? She looked around quickly, surveying the surroundings. Liesel. And Zoe?! Who was this old couple?

What the hell? Why was she dreaming this? Unless...

No...it had to be a dream! Otherwise that would mean....

Was all this actually happening?!?

Suddenly, as if the realization was a switch, more people popped up. April's dead body and Vlad. Others she didn't even recognize. People she didn't even know. Had never seen before. They appeared in her head, revealing their location, their position, what they were doing. Things lost glowed dimly under trees, hidden by snow, buried in dumpsters. A watch. A sandwich. A key. Two people kissing in a dark movie theatre. A woman scolding her child. A man beating another man up. Children screaming at their bloodied parents. A gunshot. A runaway. People on a train, going to who knew where. All of this, Zara saw, happening at once, seeing at once, everything and everyone. She couldn't focus, just sat by as the images flashed before her and around her mind, taking over everything and growing until she thought her head would explode.

She opened her eyes with a gasp, breathing heavily. Blinking in the dark room, she tried to forget. Tried to write off what she had just seen as a very bizarre dream. Tried to lie to herself. Yet when she pulled her fingers away from the hot wetness she felt running down from her nose and saw the dark smears on her moonlit fingers and tasted copper moments later, she knew it was no dream. The people had vanished, leaving behind only bits and pieces, small sparks and jittery images, yet she still knew where each and every person was, and how to find them.

#, as written by Zalgo
"Eesh, the late Mortimer, it seems." Axel had apparently noticed the leftovers from their handshake. He watched as Axel used some form of red energy to disperse the blood from his hand. An interesting development in this conversation though not an especially strange one to Mortimer. It would take quite a lot to really surprise him. "Eh, we're at a school where we're being taught to utilize powers that openly defy the laws of physics and apparently get sent out on life-or unlife, in your case-threatening missions for homework, the fact that I've just shaken hands with someone who is essentially a sentient zombie doesn't even faze me now. And as for the nosebleed, it's nothing, it was just a minor aneurysm."

Mortimer didn't seem at all phased by any of the news given in Axel's dialogue on the outside but inside he was really mulling over the various aspects of what Axel had just told him.

So it's true. This school really is what it appeared to be. Considering the unique effects I have seen demonstrated by this person alone the answers I seek could quite plausibly be resting somewhere within. I wonder what he had meant by life or unlife threatening missions? Had I missed that section of the letter I received? Perhaps I had missed the full briefing? What would these missions require me to do? I came to this building to learn of who I am, not to...

No, I cannot. I dare not deal unto others this existence. Should I have to choose between learning the truth of my missing life and the lives others have yet to live I would have to sacrifice this opportunity in order to spare them.
Why... Why must I be forced to make this choice? Then again, what fate did I expect for something such as I?

Axel. A strange character indeed. I understand his reasoning for being somewhat desensitized to people in situations such as mine however his regard for his own health seems a bit askew. I am somewhat embarrassed to admit to myself that I do not know what an aneurysm is. I do recall that the person I had taken my last left foot from had died from one of those I think.

Mortimer had been so deep in thought that he almost missed what Axel had to say next.

"I've had worse."

He's had worse? Concerning. I'm starting to think not everything is well within this school. Perhaps he has a serious medical condition? Considering current circumstances it wouldn't be too abnormal.

"But regardless, I have a question. Because that would be pretty cool."

These were not ideas Mortimier had not explored. He never really bothered trying to give himself extra arms but he had tried to make himself taller and stronger through bigger and longer body parts in the past. He discovered he had something of an equilibrium when it came to strength to body mass ratio. He could get stronger by simply adding more bone and muscle but after exceeding a certain size or length his body would get weaker overall at an exponential rate. His current form is the result of many trials and errors which culminated in a threshold Mortimer calls The Line.

After a painstakingly long few minutes of metaphorical gears turning inside Mortimer's head he simply replied
"It wouldn't work" without so much as a hint of emotion in his melancholic tone of voice. These people were asking quite a number of questions of him. What was a calm coincidental meeting with James had turned into what he considered a crowd. He was never quite comfortable with crowds. He looked over to the window and he could see the very hints of morning starting to peek through the night.

Just how long have we been talking? He wondered, looking back over at the three surrounding him. Mortimer did not feel tired, he could not feel tired. The only rest he ever needed was quiet meditation to let his mind relax. Despite lacking the physical necessity to sleep he knew that it was important for the living. Are these people not tired? He wondered if these people needed to sleep like normal people do. Considering the talk of an aneurism from Axel he decided to play it safe.

"It's late" Mortimer decided to head to his new residence with the hope that others would return to their own rooms in turn once he was no longer distracting them from their subtle needs. He politely nodded to the three before trudging down the hall towards his room, his stride slow and heavy, leaving wet bootprints along the way until he was facing the door to his and Axel's room. He grasped the doorknob and opened the door, his hand leaving a slightly warmer blood print on it has his grip left the knob.

There were many interesting details in this room. Many small items of personal taste belonging to his new roommate were present. With a faint interest in the details he marched his way forth, passing through the room to face the window. He looked out into the vast black expanse, waning into a dark shade of blue with the coming of the sun rise. As he stood before the transparent barrier between him and the most marvelous world beyond he took in the very majesty of the outdoors, absorbing the emotions it invoked before closing his eyes and letting his thoughts roam free inside his mind. Morning would be upon him soon.

Axel frowned at Deadman Wonderman's statement.
"Shame. You could've been like some deva from Hinduism. Ah well!" He had a smile on his face as he rolled his head around on his shoulders, working a kink out. "And that reminds me, I still need to finish my soak in the spring!"
With that, Axel wandered off to the springs again, noticing Mort heading towards the dorms. With Axel's luck, he'd probably be stuck with him. But all those feelings went out the door once he returned to the spring and dropped himself in the water. If there hadn't been so much steam, he'd have realized he'd gotten in on the wrong side, and was sitting in the female bath. As he sat in the water, he formed a different persona to talk to, this one taking on the shape of a slim male in his teens, with long, blonde hair and a cool look in his eyes, wearing a shirt with the sleeves torn off and blue jeans. Axel closed his eyes and let his mind do the talking.

Well he seems... Nice.

{If by "nice", you mean a total deadbeat, Lars, then yeah.} It's hard to think about an imaginary construct facepalming.

Am I going to be stuck listening to just puns again? Or do you have something IMPORTANT to talk about?

{Actually, yes. Why would there be a new guy, who's apparently already dead? I mean, I'm pretty sure that they made me a teenager for a reason, and since we aren't getting any other students in, that would mean all the students were in some incident that instigated all of this, and thus not part of an experiment like us... I'm wondering if that substance we were created with could be used on cadavers.}

Hmm... I highly doubt it, seeing as we had to be BUILT to handle that stuff... Perchance there are those simply gifted?

{I doubt that, otherwise we'd have people thinking they're the Second Coming popping up all over the place. Dear lord, can you imagine? We might even have a Vietnamese Jesus running around, god forbid!} When Lars gave him "that look", he coughed. {I meant in terms of ANYONE getting psychic powers outside of a freak accident that should have, by all means, been impossible, or careful experiment. Something's fishy around here, and I'm REALLY sure that there was more blood than rot that I smelled in that hallway.} Lars shrugged in response.

Eh, I'm just your thoughts, so can I really disagree with you?

{...True. Also... I think I figured out my new parameters for my aura.} Lars continued to float in Axel's mind as he explained his ideas in their secrecy, hidden by steam, mind, and fourth wall.

Adrien

When Adrien has woken up the first thing he had noticed was that Anna was gone. He swallowed, his throat tight and dry. Everyone was disappearing, he was unsure of where everyone was. Anna was sick before she went missing, he remembered seeing her in bed, with a high fever, clammy and sweating. He felt bad for her, her powers had hurt her so much...it put her through such emotional stress and if that wasn't enough she constantly got sick because of it.

He sat back down on his bed, tapping his foot nervously. He checked the clock, 6:00 AM. It was her birthday...maybe she just went somewhere in the school to celebrate with someone? Adrien wasn't sure but he got up, deciding to look around the school. With all the disappearances going on as of late he wasn't sure if hers was just a coincidence. He roamed the halls, looking around to see if she was there. The windows were being hit with small flurries of snow, the blizzard from yesterday night completed.

He kept looking, he hoped everyone was okay...but he couldn't possibly be sure. He checked the Nurse's Office first, assuming that would be the place she'd go to if any, and no one was there. After that he went to the library, thinking that if she was feeling well she would go back there. He wondered if she ever finished that book she was reading...what was it...? He couldn't remember the name but he remembered she was interested in it, and he was pretty sure that it had some religious context to it. Unfortunately, she wasn't there either. Next, he checked the cafeteria, guessing that she might have went there for food, and she wasn't there either.

Adrien's head was throbbing and he eventually got tired of the searching. He was hopeless and confused, where had everyone went? Why was Anna gone when she was sick earlier? His mind kept going to worst case scenarios and he wasn't sure what all of these disappearances meant. But when he was walking past the hotsprings he heard voices...Mortimer...Axel...Anna! That was at least three people and if James wasn't there he was probably asleep. Though he was still worried for where the others were he was relieved that at least some people were definitely okay.

He stepped into the hotsprings, taking off his clothes and putting them into one of the lockers, wrapping a towel around his waist. He decided he would meet up with Anna and talk with her once she was done, not wanting to disturb her. He decided that for the time being, he'd catch up with Axel and Mortimer. He walked into the male section of the hotsprings and put his towel on a bench, going into the water. "I was worried about you guys...is it just me or do a lot of people seem to be missing recently?"

Anna remained soaked in the water as Axel began making his way over to the other side of the the hotspring. As he stood she began blushing once more, due to his complete lack of modesty. Quickly she hid her face as she murmered, "It's nice to meet you Mortimer. "
By now she was used to Axel's social awkwardness.

Mortimer seemed like a pleasant fellow. His limbs seemed to be sewn on, and he was quite tall. It made sense however, she knew that he was dead, well un-dead. Looking past the stitches and pale skin, she could tell that he was once a handsome man, and for someone dead, he wasn't half bad.

Lifting her hand out of the water, she gave him a smile and a wave. Though before she had a chance to speak more with him, Axel dragged him away to the other side of the bath. She could still hear them talking through the bamboo divider tunning down the room. With a giggle she thought, Well that was interesting, though Axel does keep me on my toes it seems. I'll have to talk more with the new guy later...

As they left she reached into her bag and removed a bottle of peppermint scented oils, and seeing how she was the only female in the bath, she poured a hefty amount into the hot steamy water. Soon the air was filled with the delicious smell, and the water became tingly on her skin. It felt good to clean off the sickness. As she began washing her hair she heard Adrein's familiar voice enter the bath. She felt relieved that he too was alright and made a note to meet up with them after they were finished.

After dressing and packing her things she returned her bag to her room and made her way to the common room. Plopping down on the couch she cracked open her copy of The Divine Comedy once more. After a few minutes of reading, the same man who took her suitcase on her first day stepped into the room and addressed her.
Miss Annabel Logan, I have some packages for you. He then brought in three wrapped boxes and placed them next to her.
"Thank you," she said as he walked out. Looking at the tags she saw one from her parents, one from her brother, and one from all three.
Her brother's package contained three new books; one with classic horror stories by H.P. Lovecraft, one complete works of Shakespeare, and one collection of Robert Frost poems. In his card he mentioned how much he missed her, and couldn't wait to see her again. In the box from both of her parents was purple cell phone with a cute green octopus dangling from it. Flipping it open she saw that all their phone numbers were already programmed in and she already had a text message from her father,

So you can talk to us anytime, hope you are making new friends!

Lastly she opened the box from all of them. It was a framed picture of her family, apparently her mother had started painting again. It was beautiful, and brought tears to her face. She didn't realize how much she missed them until she ran her fingers over their faces once more. Flipping open her new phone she send a message to all of them,

Thank you so much, I love everything. I miss you guys. I'm doing well here, and yes I am making new friends. I can't wait to see you again!

Her brother was the first to text back.

Happy Birthday sis, I'm proud of you.

"Right! I'll go over to the guy's side, feel free to join me if you wish, Anna." He heard Axel say from the other side of the bath. Just as she, no wait, he...

Now I'm just confused. He was still actually a guy? Strange. What is he doing in the female springs area then?

Perhaps he was mistaken just like he was about the time?

Yes, that seems like the most likely answer. Of course, he could of had a good reason for coming here too that I simply hadn't considered. I'll refrain from assuming a motive from here on out. It would be unnecessary to complicate this matter further until I can get more definite information on the matter.

Mortimer decided to not assume anything about Axel's presence in the female bath area. Axel took the tower he was offering Annabel and before he could contest his decision Axel spoke, cutting Mortimer off mid syllable. "And where are my manners?" The rather talkative fellow chortled. "Anna, meet Mortimer, our new fellow student and I'm guessing my roommate, which I find kind of fitting. Morty, this is Anna, my closest and dearest friend." He introduced him to the exceptionally lovely girl shying back into the bath waters at the moment. "It's nice to meet you Mortimer. " Anna murmured before waving her hand to him. Mortimer nodded to Anna, keeping his eyes averted downwards as to not discomfort her any further. "It is nice to meet you as well." He traded welcomes with her in his awkward and unusual sounding way. His words tended to sound poorly rehearsed as though he were reading them from a script as he spoke. A strange habit developed from having learned English over a year instead of living around it his whole life.

Before he and Anna could speak further Axel grabbed him by the lapels and dragged him over into the male bathing area. He stood there in relative silence as Axel proceeded into the bath as well as Adrien, although Mortimer did not hear Adrien dressing in the locker room separating the baths from the hallway making Adrien's sudden appearance all that more sudden. Watching the two submerge their bodies into the heated liquid brought back to mind his question as to what he was even doing in the bath area in the first place. What started as absent minded wandering as result of curiosity quickly lost any point of remaining. Without Anna to converse with so he can see if her personality compliments her elegant and enchanting aesthetic he couldn't see any purpose in staying in this particular place. He could not feel any comforts of the flesh and he was fairly certain that if he were to step into the steaming waters the three of them would get the rare opportunity to take part in one large human flesh stew. Water tended to disagree with his condition all the time making life far more difficult.

"I was worried about you guys...is it just me or do a lot of people seem to be missing recently?" Adrien brought up a good point. He too was wondering why the halls were so uncharacteristically empty for such a large school. Even at a third of this schools original size it could still easily house more students with plenty of room left to each student. He nodded in agreement to Adrien's question before posing his own. "What happened here?"

He could swear he heard footsteps leaving from the women side. Had Annabel left her side so soon? Then again, it it wasn't for the relevant question posed by Adrien he would not here as long as he had remained.

Axel heard Anna's footsteps shortly following Adrien's comment on the current school population. Guess she wasn't going to take him up on his offer, then. It was a shame, seeing as she would have been good for some conversation, but at least Ecruteak's Gym Leader and Adrien were both here. He stretched, the popping of his spine audible through the water, and said his response to Adrien.

"Honestly, I can't say for sure. I'm just gonna take a basic guess, based on what the others are like and what TV Tropes has taught me. Since classes haven't restarted yet, Chandler probably went off somewhere to get away from the school for a while, can't blame him, Danny and Arian are both probably going through some sort of relationship upgrade, Mikhail probably got abducted by the Russians, because they're always involved somehow, Liesel is a part of Those Wacky Nazis, so she ran off to meet up with them. James, we saw, Zara is still here, I think, Zoe's with Chandler, because why the heck not, and... Uh... Anyone I miss?" Axel sent a swift prayer of thanks to whoever had decided it would be easier to acquaint him with pop culture by simply uploading the more popular parts of TV Tropes to his memories, and then throw a few games and movies and such in to boot.

Adrien

He sat in the springs, soaking in the water for a moment as he heard someone leaving the other side of the bath...he wanted to catch up with Anna as soon as possible, but the matter at hand was still bugging him, maybe more than it should have. He glance up at Mortimer as he spoke and then at Axel afterwards, what he said could be true... "Well even if that's right Mikhail being abducted by the Russians isn't exactly safe...and Hallie is missing too..." He thought for a moment that they might just be hanging out but remembered that things were pretty troubled with them lately...

"I don't know...I guess it would make sense for each of them to just be hanging outside of the school..." He said somewhat silently, sliding deeper into the hotsprings. "But I can't help but feel worried..." He sat for a moment, twiddling his thumbs in silence before smiling slightly. "Well I'm sure they're all okay, and we won't know for sure what happened to them until they come back!" He said, regaining his normal, extremely less somber tone. "And speaking of the wellbeing of others, are you sure you don't need to go to the Nurse Axel? I don't know a lot about aneurysms but it'd probably be best to check that out..."

He sprawled his hands on the edge of the springs, still sitting and leaning on the wall, submerging himself into the relaxing water, waiting for his response, and to see what Mortimer was going to do next, finding him quite the interesting newcomer...although any newcomer was interesting to him!

Mortimer listened to Axel's speculative spiel with moderate interest. All of this was speculation of course but Mortimer couldn't help but be slightly worried that kidnappings and such drama was the normal setting for this school seeing how Axel was listing these probabilities off with such little care. On one hand Axel seemed quite a bit out there in terms of logical thinking but he wouldn't disregard anything he had to say based on his actions so far. Axel was weird but he did not appear to be a liar,
at least as far as Mortimer knew. What was helpful from listening to all this was the opportunity to learn a bit
about the other students. This way if he ever met the other students they wouldn't be complete strangers at least.

After Adrien threw in his addendum to Axel's list of hypothetical happenings a brief silence entered the room. It was at this point he realized that his point for remaining in the hot springs had been answered so he could leave now. He wouldn't want to interrupt the two's bath time any longer than necessary. With that in mind he nodded to the two in the bath.
"I bid you both a good morning." He turned, his coat swishing slightly behind him and exited the hot springs. He emerged back into the halls, a massive cloud of steam filled the scene in the short window of time he left the door open in. He now faced a fork in his route. On one hand he could simply proceed straight to the nurses office like planned and undergo repairs. On the other hand he could go and converse with Anna first. She was quite beautiful and she seemed nice if a little shy from first impressions.

If I go to the nurses office I could see if they have been informed of my condition. However I may enjoy getting to know Anna better first. If they do have body parts for me to attach then they probably won't be going anywhere anytime soon. The opportunity to converse with such an astounding young lady is one I shall not pass up.

With his decision made he turned down the corridor he believed he heard the footsteps go down and proceeded to trudge onward. After some time he made it to the residential halls. He figured it would be a reasonable place to look for her first. Following his map he stepped up in front of Anna's dorm where he hesitated. He could hear some sounds from within indicating that someone was in fact inside. He took his next actions into deep consideration.

Do I knock on her door and disturb her? What if I make another bad first impression? If I seem like I'm following her too much she could be wary of me, something I'd rather not seem to be doing. After our last meeting I could just be making her opinion of me lesser by following her to her room. Perhaps... No, my worries are unfounded. I am assuming too much. I should base this decision on the facts alone, no assumptions about it. We met in the bath and she seemed mildly flustered but not outright distressed. If she thinks less of me for coming to greet her more appropriately then it wouldn't be the first time. After all, I may not remain here any longer should answers come sooner than later. given the recent information, my death could come first, making this all irrelevant anyways. This is it...

His cold decrepit hand rapped the door to her chambers three times, each time a precise and measured movement to make sure it was strong enough to produce a suitably audible sound while refraining from banging too loudly upon her door so as to not frighten her unnecessarily.

Axel shrugged, waving as Death's son-in-law left for deader pastures.

"Eh. If something was wrong, I'd go to them. But I seem to have no bad aftereffects from it, so I think I'm good for now. Though I AM shocked at how I seem to have completely lost track of time, seeing as I've been in here essentially since one-thirty. Perhaps my aneurysm gave me the ability to soak for hours on end without wrinkling!" he said, laughing after he realized what he said, then stood up and placed his prosthetic leg on where he had been sitting, pointing his finger off into the sky at a 45 degree angle. "ALL HAIL THE KING OF THE TUB! I shall rule with kindness, a firm hand, and a soapy cleanliness you can't deny."

Adrien

"Alright well as long as you're okay I guess," Adrien said, still somewhat worried, but trying to forget about it. "Well if anything the fact that you're still awake after being in these relaxing hotsprings for so many hours is amazing," he said, closing his eyes and leaning back again, feeling himself get a bit drowsy even though he had just after woken up from his sleep. Adrien blinked for a moment after Axel declared himself King of the Tub, "That sounds like a commercial for dish washing soap or something," he said laughing. "Also, I'm more into democracies so I think I'll pass on your regime."

Zoe

Zoe shuddered when Chandler fell to the floor, immediately crouching down to help him up. She was worried for him, he had blood rushing out of multiple places, Liesel had really given him a beating, which just made her want to kill her even more. But she shook the thought. She tried to help him to get up, to help him make it out, and she could feel the area around his knife wound was soggy and warm...he was still bleeding.

"...Let's go...we gotta get out of here..." She wrapped Chandler's arm around her shoulder and tried to assist him, stumbling and panting, she was too weak and he was heavy...there was nothing she soon knew she wouldn't be able to help much longer before they were even out of the door. She had only one idea, but she didn't want to go through with it...she was too dangerous...she shook her head, if she didn't do it, Chandler would have to continue on by himself with even more difficulty.

She began using her powers, lifting him up telekinetically along with physically. She had to be careful, one slip up and she could end up hurting him even more. But for some reason she felt as though she was doing it with at least slight ease but she had no clue why...it was all completely strange and odd. Soon they made it out of the cabin, the old couple had already started on untying themselves so they would probably make it out in time.

They continued on for a few moments, before finally seeing two people in the distance she thought to herself that they could be seen as their saving angels...or just demons taking them back to their hell. It was two teachers from Psy Prep, a man and a woman. She didn't know their names, but she recognized them from around the school. The man apparently had powers as well, cloning himself enough times to make enough people to carry Chandler and assist herself. She was unsure but she was somewhat certain that she had heard the woman whisper to the man to kill all witnesses and the girl, her mind immediately reverting back to the old couple...she could have saved them...they were going to die now because of her...she didn't care much about Liesel though, and wasn't sure how much she cared about the fact that the man was going to kill her...

After that everything became a blur, she had pretty much fallen unconscious once again but soon she realized that they were back in a helicopter, the mans clones had disappeared and only the woman had remained, still smiling, she was filling Zara in on the fact that they were going to wait for Mr. Sianturi before leaving and taking care of Chandler's wounds..she hoped he'd be okay. Her eyes drifted around to see Zara in there as well and she wondered if she had been kidnapped too. She coughed slightly and closed her eyes, trying to stay awake...

Eve

Eve had a perplexed look as she glanced over at Hallie. "Well I'm unsure of how or when you arrived here, as I'm sure Mikhail is too, seeing as Daniel and Arian brought you here..." Eve said, fiddling her thumbs. She looked at Hallie with concern, knowing she had been suffering from memory loss. "What is the last thing you remember before you woke up here? You've been suffering from some memory loss so it's likely that that can be the problem here," Eve said, filling her in now so she didn't have to shock her later.

Axel laughed at the thought of himself in a soap commercial.

"Dear lord, can you imagine? 'Hey, Axel Lerate here, and I want to tell you about Tele-Clean-This! Guaranteed to get rid of food stains, grass stains, and even BLOOD stains! But if you're cleaning blood out of your things, maybe hygiene isn't your biggest problem right now! So get Tele-Clean-This now by waiting at your door! Don't worry. We knew you'd call and how much soap you'd want.' Yeah, I'll stick with my day job of student at a life-threatening school." He then cricked his back and stepped out of the water, splashing himself with cold water before wrapping himself in a towel. "I'm gonna head back to the dorms, then swing by the cafeteria for a bite, join me in twenty minutes if you feel up for it." With that, he began walking out the door and headed down the hall, with only the clicking of his prosthetic as proof he was more than a ghost.

As he swung by his room, he smelled the rot in the air, and promptly decided to get one of those pine-tree air fresheners for his side of the room. After he got dressed, he opened the window, grabbed his trademark trenchie and dramatically put it on, using the wind coming in from the outside for the rippling effect. One fluid movement later, and he was out the door, about to head towards the cafeteria, ten minutes ahead of schedule... Until he heard Mort and Anna talking in her room. He knew he didn't have anything to worry about in terms of a romance between them, Anna didn't seem the type to read books or watch movies like Warm Bodies, but there was one fear that rang clear in his mind like a bell as he walked down to Anna's dorm room and knocked on the door, as calm as he could bear under the circumstances.

"Mort, I need a word with you out here, sooner rather than later. Anna, mind if I borrow him? And if you could pour me a cup as well? It smells wonderful." Of course, he only added that last part because it would do what he intended: keep her from touching Mort. The tea would be a nice bonus.
