Kayleigh Arthur's Story

Kayleigh walked into the dining room, looking around. She hadn't met her roommate yet, but she was hoping she could pick her out before she just walked into her in their room...or maybe it would be a him? Anyway, she shook her head, pushing a stray piece of hair out of her face. She had cut it the night before she came to this school, and it was now short and spiky in the back, and longer in the front, but it looked good on her. As she walked the buffet, she saw numerous foods she had never tried, and put small piles of everything she thought looked or smelled good on her plate.

Kayleigh sat alone, surveying the others. Some of them, she didn't think she would like, but others, she thought she could get along with. In her normal habit, Kayleigh prayed before eating, and then put her headphones around her neck, playing music softly so only her and someone a few inches from her could hear. She ate silently, watching everyone else. She wondered if they all had powers, too...well...not so much powers as abilities.

Arian saw a girl, who looked relatively normal, walk into the room. Hopefully, she's my roommate. She stood up and brought her food over to the chair next to the girl, who was listening to music from ear buds around her neck. She sat down and smiled at her. "Hey, I'm Arian and I'm hoping we are roommates." She didn't mean to be so loud, then again, the room was very quiet so it could have been that. Either way, Arian was fine with being her outgoing self and didn't mind letting people know about her either. Her mind whizzed with power as she was tempted to have so fun with the other minds in the room. She stopped herself though. That wouldn't be the greatest first impression I don't think.

Kayleigh's head jerked up when the other girl yelled, her face suddenly coming alive. "HUH!?! Oh, sorry...spaced out...I'm Kayleigh," She held out her hand, which was shaking visibly. She had projected, again, without meaning to. She really needed to stop listening to that meditation crap that her mothers had given to her to help her project when she wasn't trying to.

She listened to the PA, looking at the girl, smiling slightly. "Hiya roomie," She got up and walked to her dorm, looking around. "Which bed?" She asked over her shoulder, not really looking away from the room.

Her mothers hadn't been poor, but they hadn't been rich. With 6 kids and two bedrooms, Kayleigh had slept on the floor in her mother's room or in the living room. She touched one of the beds, almost as if she expected it to disappear...Kayleigh smiled slightly, almost laughing. "Awesome..."

Arian looked at the two beds in front of Kayleigh. "I guess I'll have this one." She walked over to the one on the right and bounced on it. "Yep, this one is good for me." She looked around the room, wondering what her life had in store for her. Maybe I'll actually get to do something fun along with saving the poor world. Arian looked at Kayleigh. "So, what can you do Kay? Let me guess...you seem like the mind control type of person, oh wait that's me." She smiled, trying to break the ice. "Seriously though, what brought you here?"

Arianshrugged. "Olay Kayleigh. So you have te power to move around places that's pretty cool." She wished sh could do that. "Wow I bet that's awesome. You don't even have to worry about transportation or anything you can just apparate or what we." Arian smiled toward the girl. "So tell me a more about you. We might a well get to know each other if we are gonna practically live together." She smiled sweetly and layed back in bed.

Arian sighed. That was a little more information than I was expecting. She didn't really want to tell so much of her life story, then again, she couldn't exactly just say one sentence. She took a deep breath. "Okay, well I just turned 16 a couple months ago, I use to live with my parents and 5 siblings and I have the power to control people's minds." She sighed again and leaned back on her bed, thinking about her past life. Even now, her bank account was filled with money every month, every person's dream of course, but she didn't exactly appreciate it. Arian drifted off into a deep sleep after that.

6:00 A.M.


Arian woke up confused with her surroundings. Then it all came back to her and she groaned. She stiffly rolled out of bed and walked over to her bags. She pulled out a pair of jeans that would hug her curves nicely, a floral tank top, and slipped on a pair of sparkly orange wedges. She sat on her bed and started to brush her hair, it would turn out a bit frizzy but she didn't mind. The natural waves made up for it. Arian stopped to look around the room and found a small coffee maker. After pouring in the water and adding the dark coffee, she leaned against the wall and waited.

Arian was sipping her coffee when she saw a note on the door. More groaning. She walked over to Kayleigh and shook her a bit. "Hey, we have orientation. Time to get up." She wasn't quite sure if she was going to wake up or not but she didn't exactly care either. God, I'm a horrible roommate. Palming her face, she grabbed her small Nike bag and stepped outside her dorm.

Arian realized she had no idea where she was going so she was just going to keep walking. She decided to start taking random turns and was about to take another one when she came to a bronze haired guy. Ugh, he looks like a jerk, but he probably knows how to get to orientation. "Hey!" She approached him casually. "Do you know where orientation is?"
