Introduction

Goruden Mansion
Image
The Goruden Mansion's goal to help the psychic was set when Kai Goruden, son of a rich scientist had aquired his psychic powers from a very long line of ancestors. As Kai was a telepath, he couldn't be in a school without hearing everyone's thoughts, and freaked out, so his father decided to find someone who could help him control his powers. That was, Doctor Everett, who was a psychic who could control three psychic abilities at once. Telekinesis, Telepathy and Teleportation. As he taught Kai, the rich scientist grew more and more interested in the cause, which was when Doctor Everett offered him to open the Goruden Mansion as a place where the psychic could learn and live. Doctor Everett described the horrible situation of most psychic hiding, as there were rumors spread that if the Psychic were found, they'd probably be used as weapons for the government.

Ever since, it's been a glorious twenty years. Kai has taken the place oh his father as the headmaster of the mansion, since the scientist passed away from Cancer. Even though the loss was great, Doctor Everett promised to stay, and help for as long as his years would go.

A bit about the Mansion ...

Taking a quick tour!
Image
The school is situated infront of a River, hidden in the mountains. While there is a road to the academy itself, it only goes up to the train station, from where the students can arrive and leave in their free time.

Image
Most rooms in the mansion can go up from one to three people. There is a book-shelf, the number of beds equivalent to the number of people living inside, and two desks. Rooms are styled differently, for some, there is place for hobby sections, like art, or others.

Image
Shizukesa is the main town where students usually go to on weekends. It's closest to the school, and has a variety of things to do. Arcades, Bars, Cafes, Pet Shops, anything to satisfy ones needs.

Questions about the Mansion
Is it like a school, student only? : Meanwhile the Mansion IS also a school, there is a specific part for that. The mansion is like a hotel for psychics, except you don't have to pay. The school section is on one side of the mansion, where classes can be taken. Then, in the living quarter, there are dorm rooms. Some students or inhabitants can buy out a room and have it all for themselves. The school expands year by year, there are still some sections under construction, despite the fact that there aren't many people living there.

Do I have to play a student? : Who you play is up to you. There is no age range. You can be anyone, a teacher, a student, an inhabitant.

Is it ONLY for Psychic? : Yes. The mansion is ONLY for psychic. However, you can play as a normal person too. Perhaps the headmaster might let you stay.

Psychic Abilities... : I know that finding a psychic ability to suit your character is hard, if you know just a few, so I have a list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_psychic_abilities

Mansion Rules
Pets are allowed, however, you must consult with your roomies first, so a drama wont be caused.
Don't be too loud, students have a curfew.. Which is probably why they have their own part in the living section, but still!
Unless you're a student, you actually have to pay to stay. Otherwise... Where the hell would we get the money to keep the Mansion intact?
*Will add more when I think of some = 3 =*

[Gabriel(le) Quinn Honey-Sinclair]

She would be all right here, so long as she minded herself and her little secret, how it was she choose to act didn’t matter. As long as she wasn’t found out as a girl, and she kept her grandfather’s wishes of keeping the Sinclair name from being dragged through the mud or shamed by her.... She could just be herself. Maxwell intimidated her, when she was caught within his presence, she couldn’t help but cower and submit to his wishes and will. That was what got her into this situation to begin with, dressing, acting and assuming a role as the opposite gender. He wanted her to have been born a boy, the pride he carried in the Sinclair name was too great to let the world know that his line was to possibly end with a girl, a girl who’d been born out of wedlock. It shouldn’t have mattered, how it was she came to be within the world should not matter. She was alive, and living now, she hadn’t chosen to be born to the situation she had, to a set of teenage parents who were not ready to be a mom and dad, but who did their best anyway. Gabriel knew that her grandfather though had wanted her to be erased from the world, while in his care she overheard several of the servants whispering among themselves about her, their thoughts....

“Goodness, that girl.... I can’t believe that she’s really the Master’s grandchild, or even poor Aldric’s daughter!”

“What happened with her
this time?”

“Again, she wasn’t able to keep her abilities in check and she managed to float right up to the ceiling. She couldn’t get herself down either—the Master had to break away from his duties to bring her back to the ground.”

“Ugh, again? That’s the second time this week. Tch, given the fact that she can’t control herself or her transvection, I can see why it was the Master wanted Aldric to have her destroyed. She’s an embarrassment to the family name.”

The memories were bitter ones, but they were what they were. The words spoken by the maids that day were true ones, she’d never had proper control over her transvection, and it always wound up getting her into some strange predicaments. Compared to her grandfather, and her father, she was an embarrassment, both men had incredible powers and abilities whereas she...just floated around at random. Even though her abilities were unstable, and pathetic compared to other psychics, no matter what it was that was thought of her by others—these were things that couldn’t be helped, she was as she was. Her father had loved her despite everything, and so had her mother, before she’d discovered the fact that her husband and daughter were more than human.

Gabriel knew that Maxwell had deposited her to the care of the Goruden Mansion because he’d grown tired of her entirely. And, while that did indeed hurt some, it was something with which Gabriel could live with. Even if she had to go around, with her gender hidden, at least here she had some chance to being ‘free,’ her grandfather wouldn’t be breathing down her neck always; making her sacred and timid. At least here, she could more or less be herself, let her personality show through so long as it didn’t endanger her secret. No telling what Maxwell would do if that happened.

She could only sigh to herself, as her eyes drew down to her suitcase. Damn thing was heavier than she thought it’d be....

“You are…” Alistair started to speak again, catching her attention. I’m what? She turned around, looking at her roommate, eyes holding a questioning glint while it was he seemed to be surveying her again. Was he unsure of what to maybe make of her…? Stares were something she was probably going to have to get used to since she definitely had an…interesting appearance. “Fragile.” he finished, as he stood up.

‘Fragile?’ Sooo, he thinks I’m fragile? All that staring, and that’s what he thinks? Huh, well, I guess him thinking I’m fragile is better than him seeing through my disguise and act. Gabriel kept her eyes on him as he stepped over toward her, standing near her…looking at her suitcase. Her own gaze flittered back to it for a moment—before there was suddenly a hand on the top of her head, ruffling up her hair. The sudden action elicited a squeak from Gabriel’s throat, as her heart jumped into her throat from being caught off guard.

“Do you need help moving that around?” Alistair asked her. Gabriel’s eyes widened a bit though, as a familiar and much unwanted feeling washed over her. The fact that she’d been surprised had.... Well, it’d shaken her already poor reigns on her powers. “They didn’t help you get here? Thought they’d at least bring your suitcase up for you, in an apology for sticking with me.” he went on. However…Gabriel was currently elsewhere.

No, no, no! she thought, as a sense of weightlessness settled in over her. The last thing she felt like having happen now was drifting up to the ceiling of the room. While it was true that psychics came in all forms—whether they possessed transvection like herself or teleportation, Gabriel didn’t feel like having her power show itself quite yet. A worried look on her face, the girl began to panic a bit as it was her feet started to lift up from the floor below, her body turning midair so that her stomach was facing the floor. Her arms went out in front of her as she looked about, as slowly but certainly her body raised upward, Alistair though, he seemed to have blanked out before her, not noticing the fact that she was floating midair right near him. A couple of whimpers and uncertain noises slipped from Gabriel while she remained airborne, she continued to look around as she, maybe, lifted upward to about six feet in the air. Then, without warning, as always though, the full force of gravity returned to her. She felt the return of her body’s weight…and with a small “Eep!,” she went plummeting back to the floor below.

She hit with a thud, and an “Omph!” followed by a groan, and a couple of coughs, the air having been knocked from her lungs at the sudden fall. Well, at least that wasn’t as bad as it could’ve been…I didn’t hit the ceiling this time. she thought, laying there, flat to the floor for a moment before she raised her head up and blinked a few times, doing her best to gather herself and her marbles. After a few seconds, the girl shook her head a bit, remembering that right next to her was the guy she was suppose to be living with for the coming months. Her little display definitely had to make for an interesting sight…and impression. Well, what a way to reveal just what makes me a psychic in the first place than that.

With a small laugh, and a nervous smile playing over her features, she looked back up at Alistair before trying to speak, “Umm, yeah, help with the suitcase would be appreciated. I didn’t have any help in getting here, my grandfather dropped me off at the train station way down where, and I was sent up here on my own…though, I don’t know who you’re talking about as far as ‘they’ go, or why anyone should’ve bothered with my things just because you’re my roommate.”

Raising a hand up, and setting it on her bed, Gabriel got herself up to her knees, her face tinting a shade of red. “I really don’t get what the big deal is…if anything, you might wind up finding me annoying to live with!” she laughed. “As just now, I have a tendency to randomly float up into the air whenever it is that I’m not expecting it. My powers aren’t quite within my control yet.”

Myka walked into the Academy Hall and sighed relief as she plonked her bags on the ground. ''Finally here!'' She shouted hearing her voice echo down the hallways and she giggled just to roar to hear it again then she folded her arms. ''Nice place...roomy.'' She plesantly saud as she dragged her bag near a wall then plonked them back down.

She then placed her hand on the wall. ''Time to see what this place really is like...'' She said questionably. She took a breath then slowly released and her eyes glowed a bright green colour with patterns flowing around her that seemed like words in different languages; She then began talking aloud as she deciphed then information flowing from her mind. ''A name.....Kia Goruden....Ancestors.....the first to walk these halls? I'm honoured...Scientist is the father of Kia Goruden...deceased....sadness flows through this memory...Doctor Everett is still here....I can't pin a mental image...ahh...''

She then removed her hand from the wall and placed it on her head and winced in pain. ''Migrane...need medication...'' She then scrambled into her bag and threw her clothes out and popped open her meds bag and swallowed a pill and held her head again. ''Still need more energy....'' She then threw her pills back into her bag then thought to herself. *I think I should....keep them from eyes..* She then put the pill bottle into a hidden pocket in her bag then threw her clothes into it.

She stood up again and composed herself pushing the pain away and focused back into her body and blocked the auras of imformation that flew around the building and she groaned. ''This place has too much history....this place makes me feel dizzy.'' She sighed. ''Now who do I go to, to get assigned to a room? Because a room would be nice....and a toilet.'' She sickishly said.

"I hope they can help you get a handle on that."

The unexpected noise startled Erin from her writing momentarily as she looked up at her mother. As if controlled by another, her hand finished writing one last sentence. She looked back down at what she had written, a full half page of clear, type-like writing. It was not her normal handwriting by any stretch. She did not think she could ever normally make letters that round and perfect. The words, however, were much less appealing. It was another depressing death, Samuel Moore, probably someone she had only glimpsed before. Killed in a brutal car wreck involving a drunk semi truck driver and at least five other cars. Apparently his had gotten the brunt of the impact. Shutting the notebook with more force than necessary, Erin glared at her mother. Something in her eyes gave away that she was not mad at her mother, but at what she had written. Nevertheless, this was a conversation they had had before, and frustration colored her words.

"Yeah, and maybe they will get the sun to stop shining too. Or gravity to stop pulling, or bees to stop stinging, or--" Erin was cut off by her mother's glare and exasperated sigh. She was always telling Erin to stop being so sarcastic, though she had gotten it from her mother. Biting back a comeback, she glared out the side window, fiddling with the pencil still grasped in her hand. At least she was not feeling another compulsion yet. Some days it seemed like she never stopped writing, but thankfully this was not one of them, so far.

She hated the thought of going to new places, and especially a new school. There were too many new faces, which only meant more people whose death she would have to record. At least she could avoid actually knowing what happened to most by writing it down instead of watching it, but even that did not always work. But an even bigger reason for not wanting to go to boarding school was that she would be away from her parents. Though her mother regularly drove her nuts, and she only saw her father for a small part of each day, she would still miss them. Nevertheless, it even simpler than just homesickness. Her father would no longer be there to comfort her after a particularly bad nightmare. No one would. She would have to deal with them alone. Not that she doubted her ability to deal with it on her own, but it would just be another added pressure.

Finally, they arrived at the train station, still immersed in an awkward silence. Erin's mother took her hand and gave it a little squeeze, trying to offer a reassuring smile, but she was clearly trying too hard. Still, Erin appreciated the effort and gave a half hearted smile of her own. Giving her mother one final, stiff hug, they gave their customary "goodbye"s and "I love you"s. She shouldered her packs and grabbed her heavy suitcase, resenting that she had to fill nearly half of it with journals and notebooks.

On the way up to the school, she passed a couple families in tearful farewells, but passed without so much as a glance. If she was lucky, her powers would not note them. Finally, the mansion came into view, and Erin paused to wonder at it. It was much larger, and grander, than she had expected. After a moment, she recovered from her wide-eyed gaping and continued her trek up to the door. She had little interest in socializing at the moment, instead focusing on finding her room.

Apparently, she was in Room n°14 with someone named Myka. That is all the paper really said, other than a couple rules. Not that she would know where Room n°14 was. There was not really anyone nearby who did not look busy, though there was a girl who looked a little green. Not really wanting to bug anyone, Erin decided to just find her room by herself. Dragging her clunky luggage through the somewhat crowded halls, Erin realized she was in the wrong corridor. The numbers were too high and increasing. She gave a sigh and turned around, deciding to try another hallway.

She had just turned the corner when she realized someone was sprinting toward her, and approaching much faster than she could dodge. He crashed into Erin and she went sprawling on her back right on top of her suitcase with a surprised yelp. After a moment, still trying to untangle her self from her baggage, Erin took a good look at the guy who bowled her over. He seemed to have some sort of running blades on, but they were not made of metal or plastic. It must have been some kind of psychic energy.

"Is it really the best idea to hop around in a crowded building like that?" She finally got up and began brushing herself off. "Could have broken something, or worse, me." She looked at him again, taking a deep breath to calm down. She extended her hand and continued, "Name's Erin. By the way, what were you doing anyway?"

"If you're feeling uncomfortable.. I could teleport us to the door of your room? That is, if you're fine with it. Sure apportation, or teleportation, is a rather uneasy thing at first go. But hey, it's better than standing in a place crowded with spirits that only YOU can see. If it's ghosts you're talking about. How am I going to protect you from something I can hardly even sense? Even for an Aura Reader, spirits auras are pretty 'smokey', unless they interfere with our world much. That's what I've been told in class, at least."

Cupcakes quickly shook her head and held out her hands. Oh no, she hated it when people worried over her. It was selfish of her. "Oh, no, no! I-it's fine...plus I heard t..that teleporting hurts the person that uses it.." She said, adding in the last part quietly. She'd rather walk one thousand miles herself then ask someone to use their powers just for her. She's been seeing spirits since she was born, she needed to get used to them, no matter how scary.. She shyly reached up and held onto the bottom of his shirt as she continued to walk forward. It's fine...he's nice and said they were friends..so I shouldn't feel scared..

He gave her an uncertain glance for a moment, clearly he wanted to teleport her, if seeing all those ghosts was uncomfortable, but at the same time, he couldn't argue that with his health, teleporting was indeed hard. Then he smiled, remembering about the sticker on his cheek,

"You're so considerate.. But if you really don't want to teleport, then I'll be glad to walk with you on your way there." He told her and began walking, but stopped as he felt something pull his shirt. He looked down at her, grinning in a rather playful way, "Aww, Cupcake is scared. Hehe, don't worry, I'm here." he gave her a thumbs up, and slowed down a little.

His average pace was a bit faster than hers, since he was taller, but slowing down didn't bother him much. "So, what's your room number?"

Ren didn't know his own room number himself, but for him, finding it out was just a matter of time. He could easily just teleport down to the assistance office, and ask about it, but with Cupcakes.. She didn't want him to use his teleportation abilities, or so he seemed to understand.

Ofcourse, he could simply as a passing by girl to go get information for him, but then again, was he really that lazy? He looked around, there was an incredible weight on his shoulders, he couldn't leave Cupcake alone, since she could get lost or something.. And if she didn't know her room number. Oh well, he didn't really expect her to after all, perhaps it would've been wiser to get directions when they were passing by.

While still phasing off, Alistair didn't realise that his room mate was.. Floating? Levitating? Well, in that moment he didn't really care much.
Huh.. His aura is a little bit different from what I expected. It seems a little unstable.. He thought, still staring blankly ahead.

Then he shook the thought off, "Sorry, my psyche was acting up..- he raised his glance to his room mate, which was about to fall down. That caught him off guard.

When the young boy hit the floor, Alistair felt kind of guilty, if he hadn't phased out, then he could've caught the boy. He blinked as Gabriel began laughing, but didn't reply to her words. With a silent sigh, he held his hand out, "The floor is cold, you'll get ill." He said in his usual manner, not seeming very interested in his room mates health, but he was still feeling guilty over not being able to catch him.

"I'm sorry.." He muttered, managing to give a light smile, "If I didn't let my psyche take over, then I would've caught you... It's just that.." he paused, he wasn't sure how to say it, some people found it offensive when they were told that their psyche was weak, but then again, he had already called the boy young and fragile, and if he didn't get mad and throw the suitcase at him, then it probably was alright.
"Your aura seemed a bit, off. I'm not sure how to describe it, let's just say, I would've expected it to be a little more stable."

Then he paused, realising that he completly let her previous words slip past him.

"Oh!" He blinked, tilting his head, "You got here all by yourself? That's new.. I'm glad you didn't get lost on your way here." he nodded, "You see, Gabriel, I'm an aura-reader, so I can easily see through a person. They find me a 'danger' to their society, since I know what they don't. It's like, whenever they get worried, I can almost read right through them. It's like a curse, I can't always control my psyche, so sometimes I end up knowing what I don't want to know. The reason I phased out earlier, is because I can't read your aura. That's why it seems unstable to me.."

Myka looked at the girl that took a quick glance at her and she spoke out her name...''Erin...you are my roommate? Huh....nice.'' She then placed her hand to the direction of Erin, taking a breath in and slowly releaseing it her eyes glowed green and words and numbers surrounded Erin then showed a line of where the information was going. You could say languages known and forgotten on in this strand of information just to be absorbed by wrapping Myka like a spider trapping it's prey and then fade into her.

She then blinked and her eyes went back to their normal mossy green colour and she went pale and held her hand to her forehead as she picked up her bag and began to slowlslowly to her room. ''At least I knwo where my room is....Room n* 14? It better be a big room....with lots of electronic objects....I need energy..''

She then proceeded down the right hallway and swug the door open to see three bed and she plonked her bag nearest to the window and her eye twitched as she thought to hersef. *I'm with not only one but two other people! No! No! No!!! I would rather sleep in a wardrobe..* She then looked at the biggest wardrobe and opened it up and nodded. ''Perfect..''

She then grabbed her pillows and cover and arranged them ina prefectly comfy way to sleep in a wardrobe in her opinion and put her bag to the side of the wardrobe and got out a notepad and a pen. She then swiftly wrote in the note pad as she chewed minty gum from her trousers and it said. -This is my wardrobe.....my place to sleep...do NOT disturb me...please.- She then ripped the paper out of the notepad and spat her gum onto her hand and stuck it on the paper and slammed it on the left door of the wardrobe.

She nodded in approval and put her pen and notepad back in her bag and got into the wardrobe and shut the door tightly and gave out a relaxed sigh. ''Perfect....'' She then decided it was a great time to have a nap and so she closed her eyes as she snuzzled her pillow and curled farther into a ball and smiled in comfort. ''Warm...''

"You're so considerate.. But if you really don't want to teleport, then I'll be glad to walk with you on your way there." She smiled up at him greatfully. She didn't see a reason why she should just go and make his use is powers just for her. She peeked back down the hallway again and noticed it wasn't as bad as a moment ago since the hallways were getting clearer of people. Hopefully it stayed that way...She sneezed and rubbed her nose. She shouldn't have stayed outside for so long...her grip on his shirt lessened just a bit as she noticed what she did.

"Aww, Cupcake is scared. Hehe, don't worry, I'm here." She blushed and looked down as they walked down the hallway. When people teased her she tended to feel insecure, but he was different.. She was sincerely grateful to have already made a friend that was nice to her. "So, what's your room number?" She blinked and thought to herself. What..was her room number? She had no clue, the only information she had gotten on this school was it's location. Other then that she was clueless. She was starting to feel like a burden on the poor guy that kept offering to take care of her. She let go of his shirt and stopped walking.

"I uhm...I can find my room m..myself..it's no problem. Uh, but thank you..sorry for bothering you.." She said quickly before bowing slightly and walked pass him. She didn't want to bother him, he seemed like a busy guy who had things to do.

Myka rolled in her new bed/room which was infact a wardrobe and fell out of it and it was still light and she opened one eye to practicaully hiss at the sun rays that came in from the window. ''Blind....blind..'' She then flipped out of her covers and shoved them into her wardrobe along with her bag and used a hair tie to keep it locked from curious hands since she claimed it for herself and she was the only one to touch it. She was protective of her territory in a way a mother was with a child.

You could say it was because objects were more easier to get along with than people and easy to trust.

She then stretched and cracked her neck and slide out the room and carefully shout the door behind her and turned to the door and stroked it like a pet. ''I'll be back room....don't worry, I'll never abandon you.'' She smiled then tidyed her hair and clothing, she however never wore shoes and liked feeling the floor and found that it was easier to use her power at better range and strength, it also costed less energy that way too.

She then walked back into the hall wall since she liked big airy room and sat in the center of it, she looked at the new arrivals then got into her meditation sitting position and a green ring or shield of numbers and words all in different languages both known and forgot appeared around her and she opened her eyes and they glowed.

She then spoke to herself, aloud with her own voice and a computer voice that were synced together as one but of two entities. One was her and that other also her but in the form of her subconsious. Her physical self was in meditation while the physiological self was active. She then spoke..

''The history in this place is many....as the people once were....A gathering....has begun.'' She then breathed in and the ring or shield spread to technology and absorbed energy from them and in a instant Myka's green ring formed a layer on her for a moment then it faded and she opened her eyes to normal again and she stood up and breathed out. ''Hmm....perfect for meditation and recharge, perfect.''

Myka then looked to the new comers again and turned away and thought to herself. *Don't look back....don't...damn it..* She looked back and scratched her head looking abit uneasy and approauched them. ''Hi....new here too?''

Trell Corugen

Trell’s hand smoothly lifted up into the air, her index finger touching the back of a floating leaf for a moment. She dropped it back to play with velvety ears, running her fingers through the soft fur. She gently swayed back and forth on a bench swing.

“Are you sure I can’t take Pike with me?” The girl’s voice was quiet but ever so sincere. She continued to mess with the ears of the fox that lounged next to her on the swing.

NO.” Her mother snapped at her without thinking. Trell recoiled, obviously jarred by the sudden emotion being shoved into her being. The fox’s ears immediately fell back onto its skull in irritation at the woman and worry for the girl.

A soft sigh escaped her mother’s lips. “We’ve been over this at least ten times. I don’t want that… animal attracting ridiculous amounts of attention to you and distracting you from making actual friends!” Pike’s ears returned to their original stance, though an air of irritation lingered about his persona. ”She overreacts to everything, doesn’t she, Pike?” The girl connected with her companion, pretty much zoning out on her mother with a still hurt expression on her face. It was the reason she was going to this academy, she needed to learn how to better society and learn how to control her powers instead of being hassled and torn by them.

”You don’t know the half of it. I brought a dead mouse to the door yesterday for you as a gift and she nearly killed me with that broom. Not only that but she trashed the mouse as well.” A grumbling tone reverberated through the connection, and the fox’s tail twitched softly against the wood.

“Trell, are you even listening to me?” Her attention snapped back to her mother. A groan escaped her mother’s lips before she clenched her fists slightly. “Just get your luggage and we’ll be off.” Trell resigned her fight to get her companion to come with her, seeing as it was a fruitless quest, and went to seek out her luggage. She had pretty much always had a private tutor, so she was extremely wary of having to go to an academy with so many people. Sure, she got out enough to have like one or two friends, but nothing more.
-------------

That was about five and a half hours ago. In the time since, she had been shoved into a plane in close proximity with about fifty seven other people. She had gotten a window seat, so she was able to distract herself with that instead of taking in everyone else’s feelings. About three hours in she had noticed a flock of geese that were flying a bit too close to the plain for her liking.

So she had tried to shoo them away by waving her hands, trying frantically to get them away from her, out of danger and out of range. But unfortunately, at least a handful of people turned and looked at her funny, their emotions being flung at her like shards of glass. The softest of whimpers escaped her lips, she couldn’t run and hide as she was in a closed space. So she just shoved her face against the glass and trembled softly.

It was a brilliant start to being reintroduced to large amounts of people.
-------------

She clasped her hands tightly together, her head dipped and her eyes focused keenly on her lap. So far this trip was nothing but a nightmare, and she hadn’t even gotten to the academy yet. The car suddenly came to a halt, and she took a deep breath. She had zero places to hide during the entire day for obvious reasons. One, she was constantly on the move, two, she had no idea of her surroundings, and three, she was trying to be brave. She had been able to reach out to some of the animals along the roads, so it wasn’t so bad anymore.

She shifted off her seat and fumbled with the door handle for a moment before finally popping it open. “Thanks….” The girl mumbled uneasily to the driver, shutting the door behind her before grabbing her luggage and trying to shift immediately away from the building and the masses of people there. However, it was already far too late. The emotions of everyone easily reached her, digging into her form like sharp talons. She stood there frozen like a deer caught in headlights, and slowly began to break down, her eyes darting from side to side in a desperate plea to be distracted.

Suddenly, a bird twittered cheerfully, alighting on her shoulder and began to softly pick at her shirt. Her mind immediately shifted to the animal, forming the connection with the bird, a loud sigh escaping her lips as she settled back into the simple emotions of the little animal. When she finally looked up again, most of the mobs had disappeared. She took in another deep breath and began walking towards the school, suddenly much calmer. The bird continued to chatter happily in her ear as she walked, and her eyes scanned the rapidly approaching courtyard. There were pretty much no people there, but she quickly found her eyes drawn to one student leaning against a pillar, who seemed to be sort of stupefied for some reason or another. She treaded carefully towards the boy before opening her mouth to speak. “Uh, hi, d-“ However, she was immediately drowned out by the chirping of the bird, so she raised a hand and brushed the bird away sheepishly. It immediately took flight and disappeared. She coughed ever so softly, displaying how awkward she was feeling, and opened her mouth to speak again.

It then suddenly struck her that she was actually talking to someone, and… he wasn’t disrupting her own emotions. So she stood there, her mouth agape and just looking at him. Suddenly she stiffened up and she curled her fingers into her palm, her mouth shutting. “I uh, s-sorry, I-“ Trell stammered awkwardly before continuing, “I’m not usually this awkward, I don’t think. But uh d-dormitories, do you know where I can find them?” The girl finished lamely, trying to amend her behavior. “I’m just really overwhelmed.” She said in a single breath, uncharacteristically unaware of the animal within the box at his feet.

“Uh, hi, d-“

Luca stiffened in his slouched over position. Someone was... approaching him? Hah. Hahaha. Not exactly the smartest thing to do at the moment. As the high-pitched voice continued to speak, the young man closed the cake box, and refused to look up unless he absolutely had too. His hand twitched in annoyance, and he willed the girl leave him alone.

Of course, that wasn't going to happen. Understanding the futility of the situation, Luca finally opened his mind to the emotional whirlwind. Behind sunglasses, black eyes widened a fraction. So she was an empath, huh? It was always easy to identify one, simply because their feelings didn't grate on his like everyone else's did. Okay. So that made things a little more bearable, there might even be a chance he could make it through this situation without collapsing.

“I’m not usually this awkward, I don’t think. But uh d-dormitories, do you know where I can find them?”

Aha. Sure she wasn't always that awkward, what a joke. Luca could see right through her, even without the use of his psychic abilities. Body language. The girl was too nervous, too insecure. It was obvious that she didn't often talk to people, and she had poor social skills. And the dormitories? Heck, if he knew where the dormitories were he wouldn't be sitting here then, would he?

“I’m just really overwhelmed.”

Luca felt something within him snap. So, the little empath thought she was overwhelmed? His own sickness was temporarily forgotten in a wave of anger. He sat there unresponsive, defying her expectant silence, the pause becoming more and more awkward and weighed down by the second. Luca's eyes took on a steely quality as he slowly rose from his sitting position, towering over the interloper. Sure, she wasn't short, but Luca wasn't short either.

In one smooth motion, the young man removed both his sunglasses and hood, revealing his long black hair. He paused, raking over the girl's appearance with his hardened black gaze.

Luca scowled, leaning slightly forward, purposely using his height to his advantage as an intimidation tactic.

"You think you're overwhelmed?", he hissed, locking his obsidian against her blue in an accusatory glare. Luca was peeved. This empath was clearly inexperienced, and she was what, thirteen, fourteen years old? He himself had recently graduated high school.

Luca ran an exhausted and shaky hand through his black hair, suddenly feeling very hot. "Don't come complaining to me, okay? I was stuck in the middle of that goddamn mob when it came through, while you were probably hovering around on the outskirts."

The young man sucked in a deep breath. Hey, was it just him, or was the courtyard starting to spin a little bit? "And... and I'm extremely... ex- extremely vulnerable..." Luca blinked. What was he doing again? Oh yeah, telling off... that girl... He swallowed, swaying slightly.

"I... I really should be going to my room..." Luca's eyes rolled back into his head, and he crumpled, falling forward... onto the girl he had just been telling off.

Ah, life was cruel.

[Gabriel(le) Quinn Honey-Sinclair]

For a moment, she could’ve sworn he seemed almost…perplexed by the fact she’d laughed off her little midair drop. Gabriel kept a sort of half-hearted smile up on her reddened face regardless, even as it was Alistair managed up a rather quiet sort of sigh, before it was he extended his hand out to her, who was still sitting on the floor. Ah…he sighed, maybe he’s going to find me annoying following that little display. Well, if that were the case, she wouldn’t much blame him. Many people seemed to get tired of her, but that just seemed to be a part of her existence, something with which she was going to have to deal with her whole life. If that were the case then, if Alistair were beginning to get annoyed with her already, that was all right. Alistair was...well, she didn’t quite know how to describe him yet, after all she barely had a few minutes in to figure him.

But, from what she had heard him say so far, and how he’d acted, he didn’t seem to be a bad guy at all. If even he definitely had some issues going on that she couldn’t quite grasp, with assuming off the bat that she’d been stuck with him against her will or that she knew about these rumors regarding whatever about him…he seemed to be a pleasant enough guy. There was no doubt about him being very tall and intimidating though, however, compared to her grandfather, the atmosphere he carried wasn’t so very tense, or daunting. Whatever rumors went on about him, they were that, rumors and idle hearsay that really had no importance. Whether or not she wound up annoying him, the truth was that she might’ve been lucky to wind up with a roommate she actually felt comfortable enough around—despite the whole awkward bit about her really being well, a her. As long as she minded that though, it shouldn’t prove a problem though.

Her eyes went from his hand back up to his face though, as it was he began to speak, “The floor is cold, you’ll get ill.” His voice carried with that same tone as when he’d first addressed her, a distant one. It sounded like he was apathetic, but she didn’t think as much. Gabriel blinked a couple of times, and then looked back to his hand. Even if he meant to just help her up…honestly, as stupid of her as it was, she couldn’t help the smile leaving her face while it was a bit of a blush settled in over her features. Whether or not she was disguised and passing herself off as a guy, underneath the ruse, she was still a girl.

“I’m sorry..” he mumbled, smiling just a bit as he apologized. “If I didn’t let my psyche take over, then I would’ve caught you… It’s just that..” Alistair stopped talking, and Gabriel blinked a couple of times, not entirely following him. He was apologizing for spacing out and not catching her when her powers had spontaneously awoken themselves and made her hover six feet into the air…? People spaced, she did it at times, and when she did, it sometimes led to her floating! But, why did he trail off?

And…was taking his help in getting back to her feet wise to do considering the fact that even so much as doing so was enough to make her face go red? Overall, she really was still a girl after all, it seemed.

“Your aura seemed a bit, off. I’m not sure how to describe it, let’s just say, I would’ve expected it to be a little more stable.” he concluded. This caused Gabriel to draw her gaze up, a glint of questioning running through her eyes. Her ‘aura,’ as he’d said, was not stable. He’s slipped off because her aura was odd…? Well, that made sense; although, because of her grandfather’s little psychic shield trick, she didn’t even have an aura to give off. So long as a psychic more powerful than Maxwell did not decide to peep into her mind…the block would remain intact, and her mental and emotional energies were only hers to know. Alistair though, seemed to be making her abnormal aura the focal point for the moment.

While he remained quiet a moment longer, her eyes sank back down to his still held out hand. She was really dwelling upon this too much, jumping back and forth between thoughts, only for them to go back to this. It was just a gesture of help, to get her back to her feet, nothing else. I know that but still, embarrassment, though, I guess it is still nice to know that underneath everything and despite grandfather keeping me shooed away from the world; I really am still a relatively normal sixteen-year-old girl. Regarding guys and all. Hell, this whole situation, it really hadn’t been thought through very well. What had Maxwell been thinking…? Signing her up to come here as a boy, potentially getting her stuck with a guy for a roommate while her actual gender was hidden? Even she herself hadn’t completely thought it through, sure, she’d steeled herself for it, gotten over the worst of the shock ahead of time, but when confronted with a situation…there were probably going to be some problems on her emotional end.

“Oh!” Alistair suddenly exclaimed, his head tilted to the side a bit as something seemed to register, “You got here all by yourself? That’s new.. I’m glad you didn’t get lost on your way here.” a nod from him, and something of a small smile from her. He finally realized what she’d said about that? And, getting up to the Mansion on one’s own was unusual…? “You see, Gabriel, I'm an aura-reader, so I can easily see through a person. That's why it seems unstable to me..”

Her eyes a bit wide, quizzical, she looked at him, taking in what it was he’d just divulged to her. So…that’s what was up with him? An Aura-Reader? His powers made people not like him or something of the sort? Well, if someone was lying or acting…like herself there, then they would have every reason to see Alistair as a danger indeed. But he couldn’t see her aura thanks to the block she had over herself. How do I explain that one…? And even if he couldn’t control his abilities, it wasn’t like she was in much better shape herself. If not for her inability to control her transvection, she wouldn’t still be on the floor.... Right, why was she still on the floor anyway? Alistair had held his hand out to her in order to help her get to her feet, though of course she hesitated in taking it due to some completely harebrained reason, she was acting the part of a guy, he thought she was a guy, so she had no reason to act otherwise.

If she blew her secret…Maxwell would certainly have her head.

Clearing her throat, Gabriel mustered up a nervous smile to him, before she removed her hand from her bed and reach out and took hold of Alistair’s hand, and took his help in getting back to her feet. ....it still resulted in her face going rather red. Although indeed a silly reason for it to have happened, that small instance was the first time Gabriel had actually set her hand in a guy’s that wasn’t in her family. Her hand was very small compared to his.... But then, compared to him, she herself was very small. He easily stood a foot above her in height, at least, and as she was, she didn’t even weigh in at one-hundred pounds. Something of an uncomfortable expression passed over her features, as she felt her heart about jump into her throat as she stood back up to her full, yet still, diminutive height. Quietly she pulled her hand back to herself from Alistair’s before she smile again, still anxious.

“Ah, thank you for the help up.... You don’t need to worry about not catching me when I plummeted, that sort of thing tends to happen to me quite a bit thanks to the whole uncontrolled aspect of my transvection. If I wind up startled, or if I daydream, I’ll suddenly start levitating or something! It happens when I sleep too…I’ve woken up more than once against the ceiling.” She laughed a bit nervously about that, prattling on, still a bit on edge about the fact that she’d gotten flustered over just taking his hand to help her up.

Her hands went behind her back, “Anyway…my aura—you said you couldn’t read it....” she trailed off, trying to figure out how to explain that one. “Well, honestly, that doesn’t really surprise me, I’ve always had this thing to me where I seem to automatically reject any psychic’s attempts to read my mind, emotions, or see my aura. I kinda seem to block out all mental based abilities like that.” It was a lie, but not an improbable one, as there were people who existed under such circumstances. “I-It’s weird, but that’s how I am. But, even if I wasn’t, I don’t think I’d consider you a ‘danger’ for being able to read into my aura.”

Even with her face still tinged pink, Gabriel gave him a smile. Alistair seemed to have gotten a bad hand in life, the way he kind of seemed to act hesitant before, assuming what he had about her being assigned him as a roommate when she didn’t know squat about him…well, it was explained by the whole, ‘they find me a ‘danger’ thing. Maybe people just got totally asinine toward him for something he couldn’t control, so he was used to being on guard often to prevent things from hurting. That’s not something he’ll have to worry about with me.... Even if I do have something to hide, he won’t be able to know that, I can be myself without too much fret, so long as I don’t push it and make it apparent I’m a girl.

“I think you’re a really nice guy, Alistair! I know, going off a few minutes here, but that’s my impression of you. Makes me glad to have you for a roommate, and it’s better than being stuck alone since I’d probably get all lonesome like that. No thanks....” She turned toward her suitcase…she needed to get unpacked. Still within her lingered a trace of being flustered for having hesitated in taking his hand to help her up though, for the stupid, immature fact that was the first time she’d actually made physical contact with a guy outside of her family, or who was employed by her family.

"Nice batch this year, eh?"

"I'd say so." She's been here for a year now, and she's probably not leaving any time soon.

"Too bad I can't show you, right? Considering you're holed up in your room." Holding her cell phone up by her shoulder, Juliette was fiddling with a three-dimensional puzzle on her desk — a 11x11x11 Rubik's Cube; her small hands were perfect for manipulating the mess it was, even if she couldn't hold it right without some effort.

"I can just look out my window, too." One of the instructors at the mansion was on the other end of the line. Derek was like a damn psychonaut, and he loved it — he even named his ability after the game's title, calling it his Psycho Dive. A projector like no other, Derek's abilities throw him into the mental landscapes of almost anyone. He was advanced, to say the least. The better half of a decade at the mansion has made him the most proficient mental projector yet. He can even control his projection and physical body simultaneously, so it's really difficult to know when he's Diving unless he's in your head. If he makes physical contact with someone, his Dives last only an instant in reality, too; Derek can tap someone on the shoulder, and by the time he's let go the Dive would have made a third of a second feel like two weeks. (The mind's perception of time is very fun to play with, as he'd say.) That's not the extent of his abilities, as you could imagine, but let's not delve into it.

"That's no fun, though." While that may be true, Juliette's room — last one on the second floor of the dormitories — had a perfect view of the main entrance to the mansion, including where everyone arrived.

"Why not dive into one of the newbies' minds? Wouldn't that be fun?"

"Most of 'em look like teenagers, Juliette; it shouldn't be difficult to know what's on their minds.... Of course, that isn't to say I wouldn't do it anyway."

"I know you would."

"Everybody needs something to laugh at, hun, and I'm pretty sure the prissy pink girl has a few insecurities."

"Pervert. Speaking of newbies, I was told I was getting a roommate this year. Mr. Goruden said it was an empath."

"And that'll just be so easy, since you can't even detect powers or read minds."

"Actually," Juliette smartass-ically retorted, rolling in her chair to the windowsill, "it pro'ly won't be too difficult. Just look for the people about to puke or pass out; gotta be one of them if it's not a mind-reader." An empath did puke on arrival the year before. It must have been too exciting with all the psychics around.

Almost on cue, down went Luca, and under him went Trell.

"Found two already," she finished.

"I uhm...I can find my room m..myself..it's no problem. Uh, but thank you..sorry for bothering you.."

Ren blinked several times, she must've felt his tension, or he was thinking outloud. That wasn't good, she'd probably get lost, and he could let that happen. He quickly followed up behind her, staying silent for a moment, not sure if she realised that he was there.

Then he caught up with her, walking at her side, looking down at her. He gave her a half-hearted grin, and shrugged: "I was the one bothering you. And if you don't think that's annoying yet, just wait to hear that I'm going to get directions to your room with you. Maybe I'll come visit you every now and then, if I have a chance, ofcourse." he chuckled, looking up ahead.

Even he if could be doing different things, he didn't mind. Cupcake seemed to be a nice and fragile person, and she was his friend. And if there was one thing he would never do, that'd be letting go of his friends. It was even his motto, people found him annoying because of that, but, he didn't always mind.

Infact, he's been like that ever since he lost his old friend, because him being 'different' caused too much drama in the boy's family, that he decided to leave them alone. Ever since he never left the mansion, he didn't have friends in the 'outside' world, but he did visit it. Heck, he didn't have many friends in general, since it all was "Everett this, Everett that.", it got annoying after a while. But ofcourse, he'd rather keep his problems to himself.

“Anyway…my aura—you said you couldn’t read it....” she trailed off, trying to figure out how to explain that one. “Well, honestly, that doesn’t really surprise me, I’ve always had this thing to me where I seem to automatically reject any psychic’s attempts to read my mind, emotions, or see my aura. I kinda seem to block out all mental based abilities like that.”
Alistair gave her a quick nod, he knew all about it. He himself could block out others if he wanted too, but he had nothing to hide, and almost never had negative thoughts about anyone. He didn't feel like talking about the topic however, just mentioning that he could do that, or that he knew about those kinds of abilties might make him suspiscious. He wasn't afraid, there was actually nothing to hide, but he didn't want people making things up if something got out.

Not that they would, ofcourse. Most are just scared of him, plain scared. If someone is walking down the halls with him, the surrounding people would immediately start feeling pity for that person. But it didn't bother him, not anymore. Ofcourse, initially it started off as a big pain, but he was still a kid, he was always different. Deep inside he just wanted some friends, but in 'that' society, no one seemed to want to accept him, since he knew more than he was supposed to.

As he grew older though, he soon realised that he didn't even care about what people said or thought. He just wanted to learn to control that god damn ability that kept on popping up whenever it wasn't such a good moment. Like now, when instead of helping his new room mate, he phased out thinking about, what? One's unstable aura? Heck if he even cared, it didn't bother him.

“I think you’re a really nice guy, Alistair! I know, going off a few minutes here, but that’s my impression of you. Makes me glad to have you for a roommate, and it’s better than being stuck alone since I’d probably get all lonesome like that. No thanks....”

Wait, what did he just say? Was that some sort of... Friendship confession? He didn't even know what it felt like to have friends, it was.. Awkward. He stared blankly at Gabriel, not sure if he should reply or not.

It was a mix of feelings, and doubt in his head. Did Gabriel say that to make him feel well? Or is it the truth? He just stood there, silent. No emotion, no reaction, nothing. Then he smiled. A real smile, which was a rather new expression to see on Alistair's face.

"Thank you.."He muttered, there was something.. Soft in his tone, but it still seemed a little distant.

Axel rubbed his head, the aura dispelling from around his legs, revealing black metal running blades, which he did mainly to keep them from falling off mid-run. This girl had taken him by surprise, which actually kind of startled him, that almost never happened.
"Actually, I didn't expect to run into anyone. Sorry about that-" he paused for a bit, bringing himself up by swinging his legs out in almost a breakdance-style move, then using his momentum to push onto his hands, then finally pushing off so he would land on his blades with a little flip. It was easier for him than standing up, due to his not having flexible feet that would stay strong on a base. "I'm usually a bit more attentive." He shook her offered hand firmly, but not to the point it hurt. "Name's Axel. Pleasure to meet you, pain to have run into you like that." The pun could have killed a small town if bad jokes were lethal. "And as far as I've seen, there hasn't been a single person around, save you, so I was just running for running's sake! You should try it, it's fun!" His tone made it clear he wasn't being rude, he was simply someone who enjoyed running.

Trell Corugen

As only silence answered her questions and statements, she shifted her weight from one foot to the other, watching the boy warily as he apparently thought. However, her poorly worded statement didn’t go over well with the boy, and he finally reacted to her.

She could feel his irritation begin to actually show and bother her, and she took a small step back, her hand clutched on the strap of her messenger bag, the rest of her bags fairly close by. However, the step hardly helped her at all, as he just advanced on her, stretching up to practically his full height and looming quite a few inches over her.

As he removed his hood and sunglasses, his eyes were open for her to scan over for any more hints at emotion even though she already had a pretty good idea of what was going on in his head. She only tilted her head to the side a fraction and uneasily shifted her gaze up to his hair before coming back down.

Trell could feel the claws of his gaze scraping down her form. She shivered slightly, as he decided to lean even further, posing quite the intimidating force. You think you’re overwhelmed?” His voice was malicious, and his gaze would have made her break down if she didn’t have enough self control.

“Sorry, I should have used a different word.” She muttered quickly, trying to back up away from him, but instead found herself frozen to the spot. But as he ran a hand through his hair, his negative emotions seemed to recede a bit- at least enough that she couldn’t feel them so strongly (it also helped that he was an empath as well)- but he continued speaking with a somewhat… labored voice.

"Don't come complaining to me, okay? I was stuck in the middle of that goddamn mob when it came through, while you were probably hovering around on the outskirts." She suddenly stamped a foot down, having regained her own ground when he relaxed fractionally. “Actually no, I just got here-“, she paused for a moment, suddenly replaying once more in her mind what he had said, “Well it’s not my fault if I have a little more sense than y-“ However, she was cut off- more he simply continued speaking as if he hadn’t really heard her, but nonetheless.

"And... and I'm extremely... ex- extremely vulnerable..." She blinked uneasily, ’What does he mean by that? It’s obvious that-‘ her thoughts were interrupted when her attention was snapped back to his features. He appeared to be… swaying?
‘Hey dude, you’re… you’re kind of getting a little close th-‘ She completely forgot to say that out loud, and so it was to no avail- it would have been so in any case. He mumbled something at her before his eyes suddenly rolled into the back of his head and he fell forward.

On top of her.

A small yelp escaped Trell’s lips as they both went down, and she suddenly felt pain split across her back and a little on the back of her head. She took in a sharp, labored breath, trying to get in some actual air as she was practically winded because he landed right on top of her.

The girl struggled underneath him, panic suddenly reaching out from her conscious- an accidental link to a few nearby animals. She placed her arms firmly on his shoulders and shoved him off of her. He was still unconscious though, so he… kind of landed face down in the dirt….

Trell sat there, unaware so far of what position he was in, a hand on her chest as she tried to catch her breath. Once she did, she looked up and gasped, realizing he was practically suffocating on dirt. She rose to her knees and swiftly crawled over to him, putting a hand on his shoulder yet again and rolling him onto his back. “Oh gosh, oh gosh, oh gosh.” She stared at the dirt covering his face and quickly rummaged in her messenger bag, producing a water bottle and a clean cloth.

The girl crawled over him in attempts to get a better position to desperately clean his face off and his shirt before he woke up and murdered her. So, her knees planted on either side of his stomach, she quickly popped open the cap of the water bottle and poured it over the cloth, setting the bottle down still opened and set her left hand down on the ground so she could lean over him comfortably to rub at his face.

She ran the lukewarm cloth over his cheeks and chin and such quickly, wiping the dirt away from his skin. She was extremely panicked and trying to work quickly, and while she did, a few animals wandered over- curious as to what was going on, but more worried for the emotions that the girl had unwittingly shared with them. It was only about three- a squirrel, a hare, and a fawn.

Trell realized they were there, but didn’t have time to do anything about them. She simply hoped no one else was watching them. She leaned back to fold the cloth over so she could carefully wipe at the dirt near his eyes with a clean corner, and leaned in really close to his face to make sure she didn’t accidently jab him in the eye with the cloth.

The boy who had run into her, Axel, firmly shook her hand. Her father always said that a firm handshake was the sign of a trustworthy person. Erin gave a small nod of approval before letting go of his hand. She shook her head at his little pun, rolling her eyes. And she thought her dad was bad when it came to puns. It was kind of comforting to see there was someone else with a similar sense of humor to her dad.

"Oh, really? Well, last I checked, there was this great place for running. If I remember correctly, it's called 'The Great Outdoors'." She held her hands out toward the front door as if displaying a fancy grand prize on a game show. "In any case, I should--" she suddenly stopped, a look of discomfort crossing her face. 'Gah, not now!'she thought, wincing. When her fingers began twitching, she pulled a small notebook out of her back pocket, deftly fishing the pencil out of the binding and flipping it open to an empty page. She frantically began writing, ignoring any questions or odd looks as her mind focused entirely on what she was writing. It was impossible to not see every word she wrote when she felt stressed like this. It was nearly as bad as having to watch the entire death in a vision. As she wrote, her fingers slowly began to stop shaking, though the shaking obviously had no effect on that horrible, ever-neat, type-like writing. It seemed that she had waited a bit too long to start writing this time. She hated that horrible feeling, the horribly neat writing that did not belong to her, the horrible curse that made her witness death on a daily basis.

She slammed the book closed and gathered her bag. She looked at Axel's face one more time before looking down and mumbling, "I need to go find my room." A her emotions began to roil as she stepped past him and down the hall, easily finding her room now that she had thoroughly embarrassed herself. There were three beds, but the wardrobe had a sign on it. She ignored it, leaving her bags on the bed nearest the windows before opening one and hopping outside. She had no interest in running into Axel again, or anyone else for that matter. Finding a nearby tree with low branches, she quickly climbed it, coming to rest on a high branch where she could observe those outside without being easy to see. She let the emotion wash over her, a single tear running down her cheek.

[Gabriel(le) Quinn Honey-Sinclair]

She did her best to go about her business, if she was going to make it through this school year with her little secret intact, and without having to face her grandfather’s wrath; she was going to have to mind herself. Keep control over anything that might occur to make her act, well, off. Sure, it was true that she did act rather ‘off’ as things were when you compared to her to most any other teenager…but in general; there were things about her that she had to maintain some sense of control over. Like any possible weird flustering feelings that might bubble up. There were going to be ill at ease moments, certainly, given her situation, how could there not be? Pretending to be a guy, rooming with a guy who thought as much of her.... Yeah, awkwardness would be abound, soon enough.

Still, gotta keep some things in check or risk who knows what. Without Maxwell there to breathe down her neck now, she had a chance to live like she couldn’t for the last few years—she could be herself in a way. Make friends, and maybe act more like a normal kid her age…minus the notion of dating given her situation, but that wasn’t a big deal. She could do without that, but the idea of actually being around people her age, and maybe actually having companions too was nice, a little anxiety inducing, but it was nice! I definitely want to be able to make friends with Alistair here since he’s my roommate, and he seems really nice…if I blow my secret, that could cause some serious problems, and that’s the last thing I want.

Thinking on it…since she’d gone and prattled out what she had about him being nice, and that she was glad to not have gotten a room alone in light of having him as her roomie, Alistair had gone kind of still and silent. Her face still a bit pink, Gabriel tucked a bit of her short hair behind her ear, the sleeve of her hoodie slipping over her hand while she looked up at him from her suitcase. I made things really weird with what I said, didn’t I?

Gabriel herself remained quiet as he did, just looking at him and hoping she hadn’t managed to make him uncomfortable. Although, Alistair was staring at her rather vacantly…like he didn’t know what to make of her words. But, after a moment of the silence and staring, he suddenly broke into a smile, a real one. Seeing him smile made Gabriel’s heart suddenly feel like it leapt up into her throat, again. But, she managed up a smile in return to him, as she unintentionally set a hand on her chest to calm her heart down a bit. He actually looks really good when he smiles.... As quick as that thought surfaced though, she shoved it back down—things she needed to mind; like that.

“Thank you..” he spoke quietly, there was a soft edge within his voice, and still it sounded as if it remained somewhat far away.

That was all right…she was just glad to know that what she’d gone and prattled out didn’t make him feel weird. That was the last thing she needed to go and do with her roommate. Alistair seemed like he was going to be a good person to live with, he really seemed a pleasant person, and she didn’t want to make him uncomfortable with her. “There’s no reason to say ‘thank you’ to me when I’m just being honest.” Her smile kept up.

He blinked as the girl set her hand on her chest.. He didn't want to give her a heart attack! He was only being honest.. Heh, maybe smiling didn't suit him at all. He never smiled before, maybe on rare occasions around his 'family' but never around 'outside-people'. He gave her a quick nod as she spoke:

“There’s no reason to say ‘thank you’ to me when I’m just being honest.”

"I think, you're going to be a pleasant person to live with, Gabriel." He half-laughed, still smiling. It was a new thing for him, he didn't know how to stop if he wanted to, then again, he didn't feel like he wanted to stop smiling, either. "You've managed to somehow get me to smile.. Which is rather new, for myself. And.. Well, that's pretty rare. Last time I actually smiled was years ago. I'm glad that you decided to trust me instead of the rumors... Not that you heard them from the 'others' yet, but still. I hope your opinion about me wont change." He told him, his glance moving to his un-packed black army bag.

Alistair gave the younger boy a quick nod, before walking over to 'his' part of the room, picking the bag up and setting it on the bed. He didn't like un-packing, but then again, better do it now than later, he didn't feel like having to sort out his things in the middle of something, 'possibly' important. He could just walk away, it didn't bother him since he could read most auras in the mansion, Student or not, not many tended to even bother blocking him out. Maybe some just didn't know how.

Suddenly he stopped, 'There it goes again...' he thought, sitting down on the bed.

If there was one, horrible thing about being an aura-reader, it was the fact that he would get flashbacks of his or someone elses past every now and then. And since Gabriel was blocking him out, it clearly was one of his memories. He sighed, sitting down in an 'annoyed position', holding his head with one hand.

------------------------------------------

"Kuro! Hey!" A young, teal-haired, tiny girl ran up to him, she seemed to be very happy.
"Ah.. Aoi.. Hi." He gave her an awkward half-smile. He remembered her face, she was the only person that he trusted, or possibly ever loved.

However, I could feel her aura approaching, it had been so for the past months. It started to hurt. At first, my Aura detection was some-what.. Weak, but as it began growing, it has become more of a pain than ever.. I think I could drive myself insane.

"You seem a little awkward today." She blink at his half-smile, he was usually very happy around her.
"I have.. My reasons." He said, rubbing his neck as he stretched.
"Looks like school really got to you..." She paused for a moment, looking at him, "Is it true, that you can 'read' a persons thoughts?"
He blinked at her question. Did she know? That was so spontanious.. "Ofcourse not! Who made up such a silly thing?"
She smiled at him, "Good.. I really wouldn't be comfortable around you if you did.."
"Why, do you have any secrets you want to keep from me?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.
She twitched at his question, seeming to want to dismiss the whole conversation, but looked back at him, giving him a nod. "Yes, Kuro. And they might hurt you more than me."

--------------------------------------------------

When it stopped, Alistair shrugged and sighed. "Good riddence." He muttered silently to himself.

Myka was completely unnoticed and her eye twitched then she turned away as she crossed her arms and though to herself. *My existence might as well not be....* She then sighed and put her usual front on, a cheeky smirk and rebelious attitude along with her need to be alone...but...She knew she wanted to be talked to, even if it were in a abusive manner; She would deny people to be close to her but it was more of a fear to be left alone so she figured maybe being alone was less heartbreaking than someone forgetting her and not even noticing her. But her likeness to be alone would sooner or later fail her and just like her parents...people would leave her even if she begged. Even if she pleaded.

She then walked back to her room where she saw Erin and sadness struck her and her head spun, she looked away and mummbled to herself. ''Don't turn into me.....'' She then walked over to her wardrobe and opened its doors to set her bag to the side of it as she took it from the wardrobe then set the covers and pillows she got from the bed closest to the window Erin was at then sat in the wardrobe. She looked at Erin then sighed under her breath as she closed the doors of her wardrobe and allowed the darkness comsume her.

She slowed down a bit when she thought she wasn't him view anymore but jumped when he was suddenly next to her. "I was the one bothering you. And if you don't think that's annoying yet, just wait to hear that I'm going to get directions to your room with you. Maybe I'll come visit you every now and then, if I have a chance, of course." She blushed at his words and gave him a light smile. He was so nice...why though? They had just met...She giggled though and stopped walking, looking up at him. He had a really nice smiles that seemed to brighten up the place..

"W-well if you really don't mind..." She said quietly, secretly very happy. She looked back down the hall and noticed what looked like an office. "O-oh isn't that the uhm...office?" She asked, pointing to the room.

"O-oh isn't that the uhm...office?" She asked, pointing to the room.

Ren looked in that direction, his eye-sight wasn't all to well, but he could make out the letters by narrowing his eyes. He awkwardly stood there, trying to read what was on the door, then nodded at Beautrix.

"That's right, that's the office. Let's just hope it's not crowded." He gave her a bright smile, grabbing her hand and pulling her through the corridor, doding some other visitors, or residents as he went, causing quite a fuss, but that didn't seem to bother him. If there was one good thing in being an 'Everett', it was that he could do anything he wanted, and not get scolded for it, even by Kai, which was now headmaster.

It was funny how Ren referred to the Headmaster as "Kai-Chan", instead of the proper honorifics, or even the title. They weren't even friends, but that was what Ren liked.. Making fun of him.

He opened the door to the office, stepping inside. It wasn't as crowded, there were several people which turned to look at Ren as he entered, but then went back to minding their own buisness. He shrugged, walking up to the information desk of the large room.

(Sorry for it being so short. My brain isn't functioning.)

Her solitude was quite interrupted when a purple hand grabbed a branch next to her and pulled Axel up to sit a few branches across from her, dissipating as he adjusted himself to his new seat.
"I didn't think you were serious when you mentioned this magical place for running called the Great Outdoors. But I know I wasn't so repulsive that you would run because of me, especially since I could easily keep up with you, then keep track of where your room was from the outside. Kind of hard to not notice the same person I just met out on a limb. So I'm gonna go out on a limb and ask what happened with your power? I promise you I won't run screaming." As he spoke, he took off his running blades and set them on his lap, to show he wouldn't flee.
